Work Text:

There are very few things Shouta Aizawa fears, after years of working as an underground hero he’s seen it all. He’d face most things without flinching and that’s why the other teachers grab him to deal with stupid hero students. But there is one exception to the rule-

Izuku Midoriya.

The boy is sweet and friendly, he’s always helping teachers and other students with work or asking questions. But the boy is utterly terrifying when he wants to be.

The first time the teachers ever saw the boy even slightly upset Snipe had to book an appointment with his therapist – an ex-student of the hero course called Minoru Mineta had insinuated that Tsuyu Asui could wrap her tongue around a private area. Snipe had attempted to stop the conversation, but Izuku had simply stood up, picked up the other boy and flung him out of the window with his quirk before simply smiling at Snipe and the class and sitting back in his chair and asking Snipe to continue.

No one said anything about what had happened.

Another time, a boy from 1B called Neito Monoma had turned to Shinso Hitoshi and called him a villain whilst laughing. Izuku had apparently manifested from no where and tore the boy down verbally whilst smiling – to this day the teachers quote ‘Take your superiority complex and imposter syndrome and kindly suck Kacchans dick.’ Vlad and Shouta had no idea how to respond to that other than some small reprimand.

And why are we talking about Izuku Midoriya and why he scares Shouta?

Well, the boy is currently, verbally destroying the number 1 hero – Endeavour – all whilst smiling.

The man had insisted to be allowed to come in and give a talk about having goals – harassing Nezu until he surprisingly gave in. The man had started his talk normally enough, having goals and making sure their attainable. But then he’d brought up Shoto Todoroki – his son – and how he would be the next number one and surpass All Might’s successor – Izuku. Said green haired child had stood up in the middle of the assembly, walked down and stood in front of the Pro hero and calmly brought out his notebook and spoke.

“Enji Todoroki. Born August 8th XXXX, born near Shizouka prefecture. Blood type AB. Quirk – Hellflame. Weight 118kg and height 195cm.” He states calmly. “Your mother was an incredibly well-known pro hero with a quirk that turned her hair into Lava. She was known for being brash and stubborn. You however are known for being aggressive, uncaring, and ultimately ineffective when capturing villains.” Izuku’s voice raises slightly, silencing the murmurs in the room. Shouta felt both dread and excitement stir in his chest, the other teachers seemed just as concerned for the boy. “You scream about control to Shoto on a daily basis and yet you your self have as much control over Hellflame as most five-year-olds that develop their quirks. Tell me, do you know the amount of people you put into hospital last year? How many you put in hospital last month? A week ago?” Izuku asks and Endeavour hasn’t taken his eyes off the boy – though he’s considerably paler than he was at the start.

“Now listen here brat-“ He starts to try and argue, I hear Hizashi sigh – you never insult Izuku when he’s like this. It’s signing your death warrant.

“Ok, you clearly don’t. That’s ok, math wasn’t your best subject in school – in fact it was your worst. You put exactly 4508 people into the hospital last year, those are civilians. Not hero’s, not villains. The people you’re supposed to protect.” He states, eyes not leaving Endeavours and it occurs to Shouta, that the notebooks just for show. “You put 45 people in the hospital last month and last week you put 22 people in the hospital, that’s just people you’ve injured. The numbers for the death toll you’ve accumulated is outstanding. The only reason your number one is because these numbers aren’t released to the public. If they where there would be demand for the removal of your license. Which trust me, isn’t a bad thing. We don’t need a hero like you.” Izuku tilts his head, smile still on his face. “Now, lets talk about that inferiority complex. You’ve spent years pursuing All Might to pass him at some point – to the point you had four children in hopes of achieving that goal. Did you think that by the time Shoto was a fully trained hero All Might would still be in action? The mans over fifty and you truly expected him to still be active. Everyone knew at some point he’d retire and yet you decided to produce children to fight your battle. But yet…here we are, you as number one and All Might’s retired but it’s not good enough because you didn’t actually beat him. You are only number one because All Might retired, you didn’t earn it.” He looks pointedly at the man now and grins widely. “Your child however is going to surpass you. I hope he takes your name and rakes it throw the mud though it won’t take much with the death total that you’ve got – that as of-“ His phone pings loudly and he chuckles. “Two minutes ago, was posted for all to see. I hope your PR team can save you, but I suggest you leave.” He tells him, tapping the man’s arm with an overly sweet smile. “Besides, we all know you only did this to try and get approval from your mother and let’s be real. If she didn’t like you when you where a child, what makes you think she would have liked you as an adult.” The book slams closed and the stupider of the room breaks as a third year Shouta can’t recognise just yet starts laughing loudly and soon all the students and Nezu are joining in.

Endeavour leaves in silence, his face flushed red as he doesn’t look at anyone.

He wasn’t the only red-faced Todoroki though – Shouta notices as the boy was staring star-struck at the green haired boy who’s calmly leaving the room.

“I am so glad that he wants to be a hero.” Shouta states calmly, all the teachers silently agree.

“I think it’s time I recruit a new student.” Nezu’s voice hums easily and that sets a whole new wave of fear in Shouta. Because that. That is his second fear.

Nezu taking on Izuku as his personal student.

The world will not survive.
