The murder of Lucius Malfoy seems impossible—no cause of death, no traces of spell-work, no potions in his system. The only leads Harry and his partner have are the trail of missing wizards the deeper they go. That and the help of the victim’s estranged son who now spends his time bartending at a queer-friendly Muggle pub.
A case fic featuring a closeted Harry Potter, an out-and-proud, tattooed Draco Malfoy, and a murder mystery that seems to lead to more questions than answers.

J, dude. I’m through chapter 4 and your recording of this is so good! I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to listen to it yet since I am more critical of my writing when it’s more recent (and obviously I spent a long time on this) but even though the story is obviously familiar to me your inflection and voices are just different enough that it feels so fresh. And it’s just so easy to listen to. I love your take on this—You’ve done outstanding with this 💜💜💜. I feel so privileged that you chose my work, you don’t even know.

You did SUCH a good job with this!! I told myself I had to savour it and then couldn't resist and listened whenever I had a spare second. You're narration was fantastic and you voice the characters so well. Thank you for this, it brought me a lot of happiness ❤️

I listened to this in intervalls because 9h is a lot, but I finally finished it. Such an enjoyable listen. I like your relaxed pace and voice very much. It makes for a very nice listening experience. Thank you for all the hard work that went into such a long podfic.

J!!! This was so amazing. I hadn’t ever tried podfics before and was nervous I wouldn’t be able to get into them and this completely changed my mind. It was so enjoyable and professional - the music and the different inflections and voices totally drew me into the story (even tho I’ve already read it lol) and it was the most fun to listen to while packing up my apartment and taking my dog out for walks (I genuinely started taking him out more often just so I could have more listening time lol). Thank you for sharing!!

I loved your pacing and acting here, especially in the last half your acting of emotions was feeling so real!!!! Wow! I am so grateful for providing us with a long podfic. I spent about a week listening to this, several long train rides and also in bed before sleeping. It is so good! Thank you.
It gave me a warm feeling and touched me, especially how considerate Draco is about giving closeted Harry space and time. I love how they get better at communicating and how Draco manages to say he is pissed off but can obviously put that aside for the moment and just comfort Harry when he needs it urgently. So authentic and mature, I love that Draco. That scene actually reminded me of a poem I like (can I post a link here?):

I love how you expressed their voices. In the nine and a half hours (holy shit!) I must have thought "oh, yes!!" a few thousand times at the way you emphasised a certain part of a sentence or the way you made an emotion quiver to the surface. Thank you!
Now I am not quite sure if I am ready to go listen to "This is the last time I am leaving without you" next. (Such a sad story!)
By the way, I heard a couple of tiny, almost unnoticeable sounds which I assume originate from a certain pawed creature that I have seen guest appearing in barber shop quartet videos. ;)
Thank you for making my March more beautiful, my last days of snow much warmer, my train rides much more bearable, for giving me comfort. Also a very hot first time exploratory smutty scene, I liked that a lot, too!

Thank you for recording this wonderful story. <3 I truly enjoyed it. I also listened to your reflection about the recording process and I appreciate it to know about bit more about your work and experience recording this :) I find the sound of your voice very soothing. I listened it in one big piece, so there was a moment when I noticed your voice ton shifted (due to too much using your voice as I learned), but I thought you had a cold! :D and I didn't mind at all. It is wonderful for us listeners that you put so much effort and perfectionism in your work and I do love the way it is, no matter if there a coughs, different voices or little mistakes. I also agree that it is very enjoyable to be forced to slow down to consume a fic, especially a case fic and I had this moment when I was so eager to know what will happen, that I skipped to the text version! But later I listened to everything and I could see the scenery much clearer in my head and was glad to take in the emotional processes as well. I usually listen to audiobooks several times so I'm looking forward to relisten to everything again and I will check out your other podfics! Thank you from my heart!

ahhh i love these so much. hearing about your process is so so so interesting. so much i didn't even consider! (i'm still in hermit mode so the concept of talking a lot? to other people? so alien! but so interesting how it affects recording!)

so grateful to you for podficcing this wonderful fic. you always do such a brilliant job, it's so easy to listen to and just takes me out of my world and into the stories. also, i am forever in love with the way you voice ron, he's my favorite character of yours.
so interesting too that you listen with text to speech to fics! i've now tried it myself and boy, it does make for *a* experience. (it's still brilliant, because it's fic and i can listen to it, but, also an experience.) how lovely (for us) that it motivated you to read this out in a much more loving way :)
also, you motivate me to podfic too, now. it's so much work, but so fun!
