The battle was long and bloody. Just like all the battles they had had before. Tobirama usually preferred to keep Izuna at a safe distance. But today he had to get up close and personal in order to complete step one of his peace plan.
Tobirama could feel Anija’s chakra roiling with worry from across the battlefield. He didn’t like Tobirama’s plan. But Anija’s plan hadn’t produced any results so far. Kids were still dying for no reason.
So now Tobirama was in charge of achieving peace. And like all things, Tobirama would succeed.
Once he had pressed a hand to Izuna’s back he flipped away and managed only to receive a scorching to his armor. Izuna also reached around wildly trying to find the explosive tag he thought that Tobirama had placed on his back, and he only dodged a few of Tobirama’s ice senbon.
Tobirama felt Madara’s glare from across the battlefield after his senbon ripped through Izuna’s skin. The Uchiha retreated shortly afterward, no longer wanting to fight with Izuna out of commission.
That night instead removing all of his battle gear and heading into the lab, Tobirama cleaned his armor but remained battle ready. As he finished counting his kunai and scrolls Hashirama stepped into the room. “Are you ready?”
“Of course I’m ready. I’ve executed every step of my plan perfectly. This next step will be the same.”
“I wish I could go with you.”
“You know the plan. I go in alone. Then I return alone, but with a cease fire agreement. And then we don’t have to keep mindlessly killing each other.” Tobirama breathed out and felt his heart settle. There was no way that his hiraishin would fail him now.
His spread his senses across the land of Fire to the Uchiha compound. Each little flickering flame of chakra sparkled in their home base. Izuna’s was easy enough to find, nestled in what Tobirama had to assume was the Clan Head’s home. Madara’s home.
Madara was the only factor in the equation he was unsure of. He wasn’t like the other Uchiha, and definitely didn’t have the darkness in him that Izuna did. Anija’s first friend outside of the Senju clan, and the strongest Uchiha who had ever lived. Tobirama’s entire plan would rely on the frighteningly little amount of intel that Tobirama had gathered outside of the battlefield.
He pulled on the marker on Izuna’s back. Arriving in the heart of the Uchiha compound a heartbeat later.
Izuna’s shirt was off and he as covered in bandages. Wide dark eyes looked up at Tobirama before swirling into the Sharingan.
“What the FUCK-“ Izuna started before Tobirama slapped a suppression seal on Izuna’s bare skin.
This particular seal was created by Mito Uzumaki, Tobirama’s soon to be sister in law. It would suppress the target’s chakra and consciousness while applied. All Tobirama had to do was remove the seal and Izuna would wake up unharmed.
Izuna collapsed backward, and Tobirama caught him. He felt the chakra signatures around them shift quickly, undoubtedly he had been sensed.
The door to Izuna’s room burst open and Madara stormed in. Tobirama had a kunai pressed against Izuna’s jugular instantly.
“Madara.” He greeted.
Instead of a greeting, Madara just let out an inhuman snarl when he saw the weapon against his precious brother’s neck, and who was holding it.
“What is the meaning of this?!” Madara managed once he could gather his words. “I knew you were a bastard, but I didn’t think you would do something so underhanded!”
“I simply wanted to talk. I figured this was the best way to get your attention. After all, every time we meet on the battlefield you are distracted by my Anija.”
“Did Hashirama send you here?! I hope he knows that I won’t spare you just because you’re his brother!” Madara snarled again. He kept reaching for his weapons, and stopping midway. His eyes settling on the kunai placed to his brother’s neck. “Why haven’t you killed my brother yet? You have the perfect opening. You can kill him now and cripple our clan.”
“Because I don’t want to kill him. And I know you don’t want me to kill him.” Tobirama used his available hand to throw a scroll towards Madara.
“This is a cease fire for you to sign.”
Madara sputtered and kicked the scroll away. “And if I don’t sign, you’ll kill Izuna?!”
“No. But he will die the next time he meets me on the battlefield.” Tobirama looked at Madara’s chin. Avoiding his eyes. There was no doubt that they were a pair of wildly spinning Sharingan. “But if you agree to a cease fire, I could use my abilities to protect him instead of killing him. And you have the power to make it a reality.”
“So what? I sign a cease fire, and we stop fighting. But knowing you Senju, you’ll keep us at a ceasefire until you’re strong enough to kill us all. Starting with Izuna. I know how you are!”
“How can you have spent so long with Anija and still doubt me? Who do you think first heard about Anija’s dreams for a peaceful village? I want this senseless killing to stop. But do you?”
Tobirama could tell that Madara’s glare was powerful. “Of course I want it to stop. But I’m just one man. What can I do against an entire world?”
“You wouldn’t be alone! You’d have Anija. And myself. And the Senju clan. We’ll have a peace agreement.” Tobirama promised. “Both of our clans together would work together to change the world.”
“How am I to know that your clan will adhere to a peace agreement with the Uchiha?” Madara asked with a raised eyebrow. “Knowing your clan, you’d stab us as soon as we turned our back.”
Tobirama considered it. “A marriage. You marry someone within our clan. That should unite both of our clans and keep the alliance strong. We have never attacked a clan one of our own married into. At least not after a few generations.”
“An arranged marriage? Surely you jest. The Uchiha do not practice such barbaric conventions. Try something else.”
“You can choose who you marry. It won’t be arranged. I will personally guarantee that you get enough time to meet every eligible Senju woman, and you may marry any of them.”
“Hmm. I guess that is acceptable.” Madara answered.
“Not only is our blood incredibly strong, but our marriage contracts are very flexible. In fact, our clan practices non-exclusive marriages. You could marry more than one of our women. Or one of our women and then you could marry an Uchiha woman.”
“Shut up!” Madara shrieked. “And get away from my brother. I’ll sign the cease fire as long as you shut up about any goddamned harems.”
Tobirama rolled his eyes and passed the ceasefire agreement to Madara. He also flipped the kunai away from Izuna’s neck. Now that he was no longer holding the weapon he noticed how compromising their position was. Izuna was shirtless, unconscious and leaning against Tobirama like he didn’t have a bone in his body.
Madara was furiously signing the ceasefire agreement before he threw it angrily in Tobirama’s direction. He then stormed across the room and yanked Izuna’s lifeless body away from Tobirama. “Now how the hell do I wake him up! We’re allies now so you better fix him!”
Tobirama scrubbed the side of his face. He couldn’t believe it. He had managed to get their two clans aligned. And all it took was threatening Madara’s younger brother. Who knew it would be so easy.
He lifted the suppression seal from where it had been placed, and Izuna’s eyes shot open. He struggled in his brother’s arms, yelling until he realized that Tobirama was across the room, and he was safe. “What the fuck happened?”
“That little brat over there threatened to kill you. But he said he won’t if I sign a cease fire. So now we’re allies.”
“Nii-san! Why the fuck would you trust him!” Izuna screamed and turned to Madara. “He’s a Senju! His kind killed our—”
“You will hear from us soon with more details on our alliance. I look forward to our future.” Tobirama offered both of them a grin which he hoped didn’t look frightening, before he pulled on the hiraishin marker in his lab.
He signed and sat down on the floor. The Senju and Uchiha were now uneasy allies.
He wondered what Madara would find attractive in a woman.
~~
A few weeks later the Senju and Uchiha had moved into a joint settlement. Elders from both clans threw several hissy fits about the peace agreement and did their best to make the process as difficult as possible.
But eventually, they arrived at a peace agreement and created their village.
Once that had been done, Tobirama started selecting women eligible to marry Madara.
The political marriage had been an issue of consternation for the Senju clan. Many had lost their fathers and sons to the Uchiha, so the thought of allowing a woman from their clan to marry Madara angered them. But Tobirama eventually struck an agreement where only women who consented to marry Madara could be eligible.
Those who had lost family members to the Uchiha and who couldn’t see past that loss were deemed ineligible. This helped create a manageable list of women for the clan head to choose from.
Today was the first day Madara would meet the women officially. Tobirama had organized a picnic where everyone could have food and drink and get to know each other. Tobirama would of course be the chaperone. Make sure that each women remained pure as they conversed with Madara.
Mito and Touka had helped him plan out a few events where the ladies would feel comfortable as they met the man who could become their husband. Apparently, they didn’t think Tobirama understood the subtle intricacies of romance.
Thanks to his cousin and sister’s help, this day would hopefully run smoothly.
The women all filed into the area Touka and Tobirama had prepared for the picnic. Anija had helpfully created several tables where the women could sit with snacks and tea and Madara could move easily to meet the women at each table.
Tobirama had a seat beneath a tree Anija had grown especially for him. The far reaching branches shaded the area beneath so that Tobirama didn’t have to squint in order to watch over the women.
Madara and Izuna arrived about half and hour after all of the women. They were in what looked to be their finest robes. Tobirama would have preferred that Izuna weren’t here, but Madara had asked with such a strange look on his face that Tobirama had relented. He figured that Izuna and Madara were quite similar to him and Anija. Tobirama often relied on Anija to help him get navigate social situations. Maybe Madara needed Izuna to help him.
As discussed, Madara began meeting the women. Judging by the smiles and kind faces, he didn’t offend any of them with disgusting war stories or rude comments.
Tobirama sat in the shade with his arms crossed. Watching over the Uchiha carefully.
“Aren’t you going to have anything to drink Tobirama?” A voice murmured next to him.
Tobirama turned to face Izuna. “I’m busy Izuna. Go bother someone else.”
“You know Tobirama, the women are super nice in the Senju clan. I’m surprised because I thought you would all be extremely mean, especially since they’re all related to you.” Izuna chuckled.
Something surprising that had happened over these last few weeks was that he and Izuna had become… friendly. Now that they weren’t trying to kill each other they realized they were quite similar, and Izuna liked to tease him.
Normally Tobirama had the energy to entertain him but not today. Not while he was chaperoning.
“Mito!” He called. “Izuna is acting up again!”
Across the field Mito’s head immediately turned to face them. Her dark eyes zoning in on Izuna.
Izuna let out a shriek. “Why’d you call her?!”
“I’m busy Izuna. We can talk later.” Tobirama crossed his arms and turned his attention back to the women.
The Uchiha was dragged away with Mito. The only person who seemed to actually scare him. Although Tobirama knew that Mito liked Izuna. He reminded her of her little cousins back in Uzushio.
Tobirama scanned the clearing and sat up straighter when he couldn’t find Madara. Where had he gone? Had he snuck off with one of the women?! The elders would have his head if any of the women had been defiled on his watch!
Then he turned and realized the man was taking a seat next to him. He was balancing a tray of food and two tea cups in his hands.
“Madara?!” Tobirama exclaimed.
“I noticed you didn’t eat anything. So I brought you some of the snacks.” Madara set the tray down. He’d gathered some of the sandwiches and onigiri.
Tobirama’s eyes widened. Madara had no reason to know that offering food was very intimate to members of the Hatake clan. The clan that Tobirama’s mother had belonged to.
“So what are you doing over here? Why aren’t you out with everyone else?” Madara grumbled as he tore into the sandwiches.
“I’m the chaperone.” Tobirama answered. “I’m making sure everyone’s chastity remains in place.”
“What, are you worried I’m going to fuck some of the women out here in the open?” Madara asked crudely. “I wouldn’t do that!”
“I know you wouldn’t! But I still need to make sure nothing happens alright?” Tobirama growled.
Madara huffed. “Well you’ve put on a fine tea party. I haven’t seen anything like this, but some of the women said this is very popular in your clan.”
“Yeah we like tea parties. There’s a nice romantic atmosphere. Or so I have been told. My cousin and sister didn’t trust me to plan all the events by myself. But I hope you found some of the women desirable”
“Oh yes. The women.” Madara said in a very distracted tone. “Very desirable.”
Tobirama nodded. “I’m glad you like them physically. But make sure you get to know their personalities as well. The women in our clan are very different from the Uchiha.”
Madara blinked at him. “Of course I’m getting to know everyone’s personalities! What do you take me for? Some beast who just picks a partner because of a pretty face?”
People were staring at them after Madara’s outburst and Tobirama just waved them away. “I’m sorry Madara. I just wanted to look out for you. Offer some friendly advice.”
Madara sighed, but continued sitting with Tobirama under the tree.
“Is this how Hashirama found his wife?” He asked curiously after he had calmed down.
“Oh no. Mito courted him.” Then Tobirama launched into an embarrassing explanation of Mito and Hashirama’s courting. It was quite sweet how Mito had figured out the best way to combine Uzumaki and Senju courting traditions.
Before they knew it, the tea party was over and everyone was leaving. Tobirama was surprised at how much time had passed as he and Madara had talked. It was expected though, Tobirama and Izuna got along very well.
Madara thanked him for a pleasant afternoon before gathering his brother from Mito and leaving.
The next event for Madara to meet with future brides would be at a festival held by the Senju clan. Touka would work with the women in order to create a distinctive hairstyle the eligible ones would wear, and they could spend time with Madara in a group setting. It was a perfectly romantic evening in Tobirama’s opinion.
But before then, Tobirama had a few projects he needed to complete for their new village. Notably, completing his proposal for the academy where children could train with other children, and not die as they fought with adults.
It took a lot of convincing, but the joint Senju and Uchiha village founding committee finally agreed to the construction and curriculum of a ninja academy.
Tobirama was triumphantly heading back to his office after a successful committee meeting when he heard a child crying. And not only crying, but sobbing uncontrollably.
It was an Uchiha child. He was sobbing and shaking next out of the way of those walking on the street, but still very much making a scene with his emotions.
“Are you alright little one?” Tobirama asked as he kneeled next to the child.
The kid looked up at him with red rimmed dark eyes. “I’m fine.” He lied.
“Have you lost your parents? Do you need to find the Uchiha compound?” Tobirama asked.
“No! I don’t want to go back there!” The kid cried out. “They don’t want me and I don’t want them!” He wrapped his arms around himself and cried even harder.
“What’s your name?” Tobirama asked.
“Kagami.” The child sniffed.
“Alright Kagami. Do you feel comfortable telling me what happened in the Uchiha compound? And why you don’t want to go back?” Tobirama was going to knock some heads together if this child had been abused.
“The other kids wouldn’t let me train with them! They said that since I won’t have the Sharingan theres no need for me to learn shurikenjutsu.” Kagami mumbled.
“What does that mean? Why wouldn’t you develop the sharingan?” Tobirama asked.
“Because I’m only half Uchiha!” Kagami sobbed. “I won’t have the sharingan like everyone else because my Daddy isn’t an Uchiha.”
Tobirama blinked at the child. “Kagami, you’re probably too young to know this, but I’m the strongest sensor in Fire Country. So you can trust me when I say that I can’t sense any difference in your chakra versus that of any other Uchiha. So I don’t see why you wouldn’t develop the sharingan like everyone else.”
Kagami raised his head up with tear filled eyes. “Really?”
“Really.”
“So you think I could be as strong as all the other Uchiha?”
He blinked furiously at the child. “Of course you will be. In fact, I can tell you a secret.”
Kagami’s eyes widened. “A secret?” he gasped.
“Do you know the Hokage?” Kagami nodded. “Well, he is my elder brother. He and I are the strongest warriors in our clan. And we aren’t full Senju. We’re both half Hatake. We didn’t let our heritage define us and neither should you.”
Kagami finally stopped crying as he mumbled, “wow.” Then he looked back up after wiping the tears from his eyes. “But what am I supposed to do about my training? The others wont train with me no matter how strong I am.”
Tobirama gestured to the collections of scrolls and folders under his arm. “My proposal for a ninja academy was just approved. It is where children from every clan will learn how to be shinobi together. It won’t matter if you have the sharingan or not. You’ll have teachers from different clans and an opportunity to learn without any pressure to develop a sharingan.”
Kagami’s face brightened. “I can learn with kids besides the Uchiha?”
Tobirama nodded.
Kagami jumped up. “When? Can I start now?”
“The school will need a few weeks to set up before instruction can begin. And you’ll need your parents’ permission before you can begin.” Then Tobirama motioned to his right. “I can sense a group of children playing a few blocks that way. I’m sure they’ll let you join them if you ask nicely.”
Kagami looked in that direction with a sign of wonder on his face. “Oh! Okay.” He said. “Thank you Senju-san!” He called as he ran off.
Tobirama watched Kagami scamper off and couldn’t suppress the smile gracing his face. As he turned to return to his office he noticed Madara was standing a few steps away with a look of surprise on his face.
“Madara?” He asked.
“I came to collect Kagami after I heard he had run off from the compound, but I see you took care of it.” The man answered.
“I apologize if I overstepped.” Tobirama nodded his head. “I saw a child in distress and comforted him. I would have done the same for any child, regardless of their clan.”
Madara nodded with eyes still wide. “Of course. You did a wonderful job, Tobirama.” The man said. He looked away for a moment, before returning his gaze. “I didn’t know you were half-Hatake.”
Tobirama frowned. “I suppose Anija’s parentage is surprising. But mine isn’t much of a secret.”
“I honestly thought you were a foundling.” Madara answered.
“A foundling?” Tobirama laughed. “There is no way my father would have raised a foundling. I am his son.”
Madara laughed. “Thank you for helping Kagami. And congratulations on your academy proposal.”
Tobirama felt himself blush as he watched Madara walk away.
A few nights later was the festival. And the second opportunity for Madara to meet with his potential brides.
Touka had come up with an intricate hairstyle for the women. And each of them were in fine kimonos. Excitement filled the air around him as he watched the eligible women filter into the festival among the rest of the Senju clan.
Hashirama had invited the Uchiha clan to the festival and Tobirama was going to have his hands full making sure none of the Uchiha men got too close to any of Madara’s future brides. It was his duty to ensure the women remained pure if they were to marry Madara.
Tobirama made his way slowly through the festival. During the first outing, he hadn’t used his sensing ability in order to keep the event more casual. But now he was required. He kept an awareness of each Senju women’s signatures, and monitored how close the Uchiha got to the women.
Mito pressed a warm cup of tea into Tobirama’s hand before linking her hand into Hashirama’s and pulling him away. His elder brother barely managing to hide his besotted look at his wife’s finery.
He sipped his tea and silently kept track of everyone’s chakra until he felt a pair of arms encircle his leg. He looked down into the cheerful face of Kagami Uchiha.
“Senju-san!” The child cried when their eyes met. “My Mommy wants to meet you!”
He looked up and there was a giggling Uchiha woman approaching. Her hair was straight and spiky like Madara and Izuna’s, so Kagami’s curls must be inherited from his father. “Uchiha-san.” Tobirama bowed to her as she approached.
“My name is Nomiya, Tobirama-sama.” She introduced herself. “I have heard much about you. And about your academy. You’ve made quite the impression on my Kagami.”
“Indeed? Well I am glad to hear that he’s interested in the ninja academy. I hope that he will be allowed to attend.”
Nomiya laughed. “I could not stop him now if I had wanted. But truly, I must thank you.” She waited until Kagami had wondered off to look at some frogs before leaning in close. “He has long been upset with his parentage. And there is little I’ve been able to do to convince him of his value. Until you spoke to him. I think there is much that our clans can learn from each other.”
Before she could say more, there was a loud throat clearing next to them. Both turned and met Madara’s eyes. He looked irritated. He must be displeased with how close Tobirama had gotten to one of the women from his own clan.
Nomiya gave Madara an indecipherable look before backing away. “Good evening, Madara-sama. I was just thanking Tobirama-sama for helping my Kagami. Who knew Senju-sama was so good with children?”
A strange blush passed over Madara’s face before he stepped closer. “Of course Nomiya-san. I was surprised to learn this about Tobirama as well.” There was a noted lack of honorific attached to Tobirama’s name, which was curious. “But, if you don’t mind, I’d like to take the host off your hands.” Then Madara held out a hand for Tobirama to take.
Tobirama looked at the hand, eyes widening at the lack of a glove. But still placed his own hand in Madara’s. The man pulled him away from Nomiya, a little harsher than Tobirama expected.
“Did you need something Madara?” Tobirama asked as he looked at the man. Madara had dressed up in very nice Uchiha finery. He looked quite fetching. He would make one of the Senju women a very fine husband.
“You spent so much time planning and prepping for this evening and you aren’t even enjoying it!” Madara huffed. “You’ve just been wandering around talking to no one!”
“Might I remind you that my job is to be a chaperone on these evenings? I’ve been monitoring the chakra signatures of everyone here. I have to make sure all of the women remain pure.” He reminded Madara.
A look of horror crossed Madara’s face. “Surely you don’t think I would defile the women in the middle of a festival?”
“No! I don’t think that. It’s the Senju elders who are concerned about such a thing. And of course, the men of your clan.” Madara shook his head in confusion. “We couldn’t have the men in your clan making advances on any of the eligible women. Especially since one of them will become your Consort.”
“My men know to be respectful!” Madara cried. “Do you think us so uncivilized?”
“I actually don’t know that many Uchiha men outside of the battlefield. Except for you and Izuna.” Tobirama admitted. “But I figured they would remain respectful. But it never hurts to monitor a situation.”
Madara squeezed his hand. “Well, stop monitoring it and actually enjoy the evening! I promise that I will personally punish any Uchiha who gets handsy. Even my own brother!”
Tobirama blinked. “Alright. But I’m going to hold you to that.”
Then Madara pulled him to one of the fishing booths. It was a game usually reserved for children, but it was something fun that Tobirama hadn’t done in years.
He and Madara both used their nets to try and capture fish. Unfortunately, Tobirama’s net broke before he could catch any fish.
But Madara was successful. He laughed as his fish were put in a little bag. As they left the booth Madara pressed the fish to Tobirama’s hands. “For you.” He said.
Tobirama’s heart pounded. Another Hatake courting tradition…. But there was no way that Madara could know what this gesture meant to one of Hatake blood. There was certainly color splashing across his cheeks. “Thank you Madara.” He murmured.
Madara huffed proudly as Tobirama took the bag of fish. “Now I want to try cotton candy. Your brother told me about it and I’m curious!”
Tobirama laughed. “I didn’t know you had such a sweet tooth Madara.”
“I love sweet things.” Madara murmured with a heated look in his eye. It made Tobirama’s heart flip.
Once they both had some cotton candy, they sat side by side on a bench and watched children dancing around in an open area.
Tobirama took a few bites of his cotton candy before he passed the stick over to Madara. The other man’s eyes lit up when he saw the second helping of candy. And Tobirama’s instincts preened to see acceptance of his offering.
A few peaceful moments passed before Tobirama spoke up. “Have you made any headway to finding a wife?”
Madara frowned. “What do you mean?”
“Well, I’m trying to think of what the next outing will be. We’ve had a picnic, and now this festival. So I was thinking maybe a dance? You do like dancing now that I think about it.”
“You don’t need to plan any more of these things. Besides, you’ve got enough on your plate as it is. Everyone knows how hard you work and with this nonsense on top of it all, it's ridiculous.”
Tobirama blinked. “This ‘nonsense’ is meant to help you select your wife. A pretty important thing.”
“Well. I’ve made my choice already. So you don’t need to plan any more of these things.”
Tobirama nearly dropped his bag of fish. “You have?”
“Indeed. But I won’t tell you now! I want us to enjoy the evening. It’s not very often I get to see so many stuffy Senjus let loose.”
“Very well. But let us stay away from the gambling tables. I have little desire to see Anija lose his monthly wages.”
Madara laughed and pulled him to the next booth. And Tobirama kept himself from thinking about the fact that Madara had already picked out a bride.
~~
The next day a meeting was convened to discuss Madara’s choice in bride. Those in attendance were: Hashirama, Tobirama, Touka, Izuna and Madara.
The Senju sat on one side of the table and the Uchiha brothers on the other.
Hashirama clapped his hands together. He appeared to suffer no ill effects from his late night of partying. Whereas Izuna and Touka both looked a little green in the gills.
“I’m so excited to hear who you have picked for your bride Madara.” Hashirama cheered. “Our clan has some of the most elegant women. Any of them would make you a fine bride.”
Madara straightened up. “Right.” He started. Then he coughed and looked uncomfortable. “As everyone knows. I have made my choice in Senju spouse.”
Touka brightened up. And shot Tobirama an indecipherable look.
“Yes?” Hashirama asked.
Izuna and Madara shared a look between them. And then Madara turned back to the Senju.
“I choose…. Tobirama.”
Tobirama’s jaw dropped. Touka choked. And the table cracked, Hashirama’s doing no doubt.
“Excuse me?” Hashirama laughed nervously.
“You heard me! I pick Tobirama. I know he’s single, not betrothed to anyone, and I was allowed to choose any eligible Senju I wanted.” Madara sat up straight and smiled.
“Really?” Tobirama asked. “You want to marry me?”
Madara nodded.
“Even after I forced you into the peace treaty by threatening Izuna?” Tobirama asked.
“Hey! I was never in any danger!” Izuna argued. “I’m not some baby who needs his nii-san looking out for him.” He then crossed his arms and pouted like a child. Touka snorted.
“It was quite a stupid thing to sneak into the Uchiha compound and threaten us.” Madara stroked his chin. His dark eyes glancing up to Tobirama’s face. “But honorable. Instead of using your advantage to kill my brother and win the war, you gave me a chance to save him. And our clan. And then you’ve worked tirelessly to make this village a nice place for both of our clans. In my mind you’re a perfect choice for a spouse.”
Izuna rolled his eyes. Tobirama frowned at him. “Are you unhappy with me becoming your kin, Izuna?” Tobirama asked.
“Are you kidding? This is great. Your brother might be Hokage, but this is your village. Your school. Your police force. Your mission assignment system. And everyone who matters reports to you. Having you join our clan puts us in an advantageous position.” He crossed his arms and grinned smugly. Then he looked at Madara and quickly added, “And nii-san likes you.”
Madara grinned. “Will you marry me Tobirama?” He purred.
“I believe I did say you could marry any Senju you wanted, as long as they were eligible. I am obliged to marry you.” Tobirama answered. “And I have warmed up to you quite nicely since we founded the village.” He admitted quietly with a blush coloring his face.
Happiness spread across Madara’s face as Hashirama cried out.
“Have you been defiling my little brother?” Hashirama screeched.
“Nobody has been defiling anybody!” Tobirama grit his teeth as he addressed his older brother. “I’ve made sure of it throughout the courting process.”
“Yeah speaking of that…” Izuna laughed. Everyone whipped around to look at him.
“Nii-san doesn’t like girls.” Izuna laughed.
