Notes:

hello there :)

i heard from nemo that it's danyok week? i didn't know that, initially. i'm not participating in that wonderful festival, but i want to gift a story to these people and also to every danyoker out there ^^ i just realised, it has been a month since i've written my last danyok story! time sure flies. i'm breaking my promise (i hope this will be my last, hehe) and writing this silly story >///< it's not good at all but i hope, to everyone i've dedicated this story to, you'll like it... if you don't, then it's ok. i'm sorry if it's badly written...

thank you so much for reading. may life treat you all with kindness. <3 until we meet again. x

mood:
like real people do - hozier
(thank you so much nemo for introducing this song to me. <3)

Work Text:

"phi, i like you just like this."

dan blinks once, twice, and figures- he doesn't understand what yok meant. when yok speaks with feelings instead of colours, dan has a hard time dissecting what he means. he's never good with words and seldomly uses them to express the thoughts in his head. being with yok gradually changes him. dan can safely say he's getting better at it, but to reach yok's level, he still needs a lot of practice. now, when yok goes all philosophical and deep, dan becomes clueless. again. ah. he sighs in defeat.

but it's in his nature, the gentle steep of patience that flows like currents in his body, calm like the ocean, hopeful like the waves. and so, he waits for yok to explain. whatever he has in mind, dan wants to listen. and it's a plus point for him; dan can admire yok in the meantime. bathed under the twilight sky, the leaves from the longan tree are raining down on him as the wind blows in a soft avenue. he's beautiful. dan thinks yok is really beautiful. nature becomes one with yok, enhancing his beauty. his smile is contagious, and yok's eyes are the prettiest spheres of kindness dan has ever seen. so lovely. dan can't believe yok is his. the realisation makes his heart race. skipping all tandem beats, leaping over every pulse point. dan stifles a chuckle. he's happy. delighted. and so painfully in love.

yok flutters his eyes open, and maybe, dan isn't sure of anyone else, but his world slows down for a second. maybe they are giving dan a chance to admire the delicate buds brushing the bags under yok's eyes. dan might see things, but if those are sunflowers blossoming at the crinkle of yok's eyes, then, oh. breathtaking.

they are glimmering in silver, the stars in yok's eyes. twinkling in such a warm welcoming that dan struggles to make sense of this magical creature, of this mystical human being- yok. and he's breathless for god knows what reason. it's a repetitive cycle of constant adoration and growing love and everything that dan's heart yearns to do. he should be tired of these redundant heart palpitations, but dan treasures every moment it comes. like the home, he returns to after a long, tiring day.

and when yok looks at him, the world moves again. but dan is static here, for he serves as the epicentre that waits for his moon to orbit. yok will come to him again, and dan will always be there to take his hand. they meet in the middle, a complete piece.

"you're so... quiet," he begins. both hands are moving animatedly to prove his point. concentration squishes his cheeks, and passion intensifies the lustre in his eyes. cute. he's falling again. it's possible because it's yok, and he's dan. whatever universe they are residing in, he'll have his yok. dan faithfully believes in that possibility.

and dan knows that fondness is a lifelong companion in his eyes, liquifying all those concrete emotions into a sea of love.

"you like that about me?" dan interrupts. a giggle follows the last syllable of his sentence, finally escaping his lips in a continuous string of amusement.

yok slaps his arms, angry (or at least, he tries to be mad at dan) and rolls his eyes. "phi! i have more to say!"

and oh, dan's heart, the centrepiece of his body. it's beating so awfully fast that dan is concerned, worried even. will he survive another day if yok continually tests him like this? but this million baht question continues to annoy him amid this chaos; can he ever love someone as much as he loves yok?

"okay! okay! i'm sorry!" dan surrenders, throwing his hands up in the air. yok is pouting, and dan can think of many things, but now, he only wants to kiss him. maybe if he leans closer, yok will-

"in your silence, i find peace," yok continues, still pouting, but the stars are back in his eyes, seething in glittery silver, and the moon dangles on his pink, glossy lips. oh. pretty.

"when i'm with you, i don't think much. it's not like i don't think at all," yok peeks at dan. scarlet begins to brush the clouds on his cheeks. if dan caresses yok's cheeks, can he feel the hotness? or will it be cold?

"i don't worry about anything. i think i don't have to overthink every little detail, either. and i like that. i like living in that world, even if it's temporary."

and dan asks, curious, "can't it be forever?"

yok smiles. shyly almost. the crimson on yok's skin reminds dan of the fire that rekindles in his heart. it blares and flares in a concoction that breathes life into his lungs and washes the numbing pain away. everything is a pleasant surprise, and dan lives for another day to unwrap those gifts. he has yok with him every step of the way. how lucky is he?

yok glances at the setting sun and back to dan, grinning, "it can be. only if you want it to be."

dan mirrors the smile and whispers, "i do."

yok laughs. "that sounds like a marriage vow, phi!"

"it can be," dan leans in. "only if you want it to be," and seals their tender love with a kiss.
