A cute little daisy, twice the size of the daisy he’d coughed out first. Another wild rose, it’s thorns catching on his flesh and tearing his throat to shreds. And finally, a light blue forget-me-not, still so small and soft, almost a reprieve from the other flowers.
Their petals are coated in blood and phlegm and Leonard meets eyes with Spock, who looks as horrified as he feels. “Doctor,” he snaps, voice cracking with emotion. “You are badly injured- and sick.”
He blinks at Spock and sets his mouth stubbornly, turning to look forward and steer the ship he miraculously hadn’t crashed. “Yeah, well, ya need me,” he grates out, his throat in agony.
