Chapter Text
It was another peaceful morning in the Super Rock Villa. There are no wars, no shits and other stuff that will make Cale go bald.
Perhaps the exaggeration sums up Cale's adventurous life.
Cale was peacefully lying down on his bed, staring blankly on the white ceiling above him. No, he's not bored nor he was thinking. He was simply enjoying the moment of his life, slacking, which is his dream.
His life has been too eventful ever since he came here in this world. Well, his past life was eventful too.
And now that the white fucking bastard has perished, Cale was able to enjoy his life to the fullest.
But the hunters-
'Who cares about them, screw those damn hunter bastards, let me slack!'
Is what Cale thought.
He was about to close his eyes for he was feeling sleepy again when-
BAM!
The door suddenly shut open startling the redhead. Cale quickly sat on the bed and looked at the door, revealing a cute and chubby black dragon.
"Oh god Raon, can you please open the door gently? You nearly gave me a heart attack-" Cale exclaimed, holding his chest which vibrated the fast beat of his heart. It really almost sent him to the gods.
'That almost killed the shit out of me'
"Oh! Sorry Human! I just wanted to ask you about this!"
Raon opened his paws to reveal a cube standing on top of his palms. The cube had many colors on it.
"Hmm?"
The black dragon flew towards the redhead and brought the cube in front of Cale's face and exclaimed, "I found this on top of the dining table! I was curious what this is so I went here to ask you!"
Cale almost went deaf from the black dragon's loud voice.
"That's... A rubic's cube- how the f- how did that went on top of the dining table??"
Cale asked, confusion was evident on his face as he grabbed the rubic's cube from the black dragon's palm.
The dragon just shrugged and shook his head stating that he also doesn't know.
"That's why I went here to ask myself! Now what's a rubic's cube Human? Does that blow houses??"
Raon asked with an innocent face and a curious voice. Cale shuddered internally at the statement the black dragon just said. 'Who the fuck asks something like that with an innocent face-how vicious-'
'Wait, how the fuck did a rubic's cube appear here in the first place??'
Cale was deeply confused about the rubic's cube's origins.
He shook the thoughts out of his head for he thought that these occurrences are not so unusual for him anymore.
The redhead cleared his throat, "Raon, a rubic's cube is like a puzzle you need to solve"
The black dragon's ears perked up and nodded his head, telling the redhead to continue.
"You need to match all the colors just like this"
Cale's swift hands moved the rubic's cube and solved it under 10 seconds. Raon, who was watching the redhead's demonstration, was deeply in awe as he watched his human's swift hands solve the cube easily, without any sweat.
"And that's how you do it," Cale said, a bit too proud when he saw the black dragon's admiring eyes.
"Wow human! That's so awesome! You solved it so easily!" Raon cheerfully exclaimed as his gleaming eyes switch from the solved rubic's cube to his human's face.
Cale just simply smiled at the sight.
.
.
.
"I heard you solved a puzzle"
Cale flinched at the voice behind him. He looked at his back and saw the beautiful blonde elf standing behind his back. 'I swear to God, these dragons never fail to give me a fucking heart attack.'
"Oh... Hello Eruhaben-nim. Yes, I did solve a simple puzzle, why do you ask?"
Eruhaben stared at the redhead for a while making the redhead sweat bullets from the tension. Soon, the blonde elf spoke, "I... I want to see what kind of puzzle the little kid spoke of." The blonde elf's face was tinted with a hint of red. He was flustered and embarrassed, he also kind of want to show off to the little kid too.
Cale, as oblivious as he was, was thinking that the gold dragon in front of him was perhaps feeling a bit upset towards him, since he saw how the blonde elf's face was tinted with a hint of red. 'Is solving a rubic's cube a sin towards the dragons-'
"Uh... Yes I'll bring it to you immediately"
And he scampered away from the gold dragon just like that.
.
.
.
"So... This is what you call a rubic's cube?"
Dodori examined the cube that was placed in front of him. "It seems so simple and I bet a great dragon like me can solve such a puny little cube!" He proudly exclaimed, puffing his chest so high that gave off such a prideful aura. Well what do you expect for a young dragon?
"I don't think you can," Raon nonchalantly stated, destroying the pink dragon's prideful moment. Dodori frowned and looked at the black dragon, "And why do you think so, hmm?"
"I can't solve it so neither can you," Raon shrugged which made the pink dragon scoff, "Well, that's just because you're too young unlike me"
"No it's not!"
And the fuss between the two young dragons began.
'They're too illogical'
Cale who was watching the scene just shook his head with disappointment.
"Well...it does seem easy judging from how teacher has solved it easily," the beige dragon, Mila, stated while eyeing the cube. Eruhaben only nodded his head in agreement.
"Speaking of which, why are the two of you here Mila-nim?" The redhead asked.
"I overheard about this mysterious cube and so I came here to see, Dodori happened to be bored so he came with me"
Cale hummed and began to speak, "Then... Would you like to try first Eruhaben-nim?" as he handed the cube towards the gold dragon.
Eruhaben accepted and held the cube, examining its very structure before nodding, "Then I'll try to solve this peculiar piece of cube"
.
.
.
It has been 10 minutes since Eruhaben had started solving the rubic's cube.
And...
He still haven't solved it yet. He was only able to finish 1-2 sides of the cube but ended up restarting over again because he made the wrong moves.
He wouldn't lie, it was very hard for him. At first, it does seem very easy but during the process... He ended up getting frustrated over and over again. It was frustrating how the completed sides shuffled again. He almost made the cube into dust, luckily, the others managed to calm the ancient dragon.
"Hmm," he groaned in frustration as that one completed side was shuffled again.
"It seems that you cannot solve it, perhaps you're too old rather, too ancient to do it?" Mila teased, half mocking and half not for safety purposes.
The gold dragon simply glared at his side and proceeded to continue doing the cube.
...
And another 10 minutes has passed yet the gold dragon haven't managed to complete 3 sides.
"I can't believe I'll say this but I give up. This piece of puzzle is frustrating my old self," the normally composed Eruhaben slammed down the cube onto the table, almost shattering it whole and made the others flinch. Fortunately, it was embedded by protection magic in order for it to atleast resist the ancient dragon's strength.
"See Goldie gramps! I told you it was supeeeer hard!"
Raon yelled in frustration which everyone found to be too loud.
"Then I guess this majestic pink dragon should try next, perhaps a younger one could solve it," Dodori smirked, his eyes show pride as he looked at the ancient dragon before him. Eruhaben groaned in annoyance and crossed his arms.
Cale who was watching all of this was feeling mixed emotions. 'Aigoo'
.
.
.
"Umm...Is this cube embedded with illusion magic?"
Dodori, who has been solving the cube for 15 minutes, asked. His forehead show bullets of sweat and his eyes seem to be trembling. His brain have overheated.
"My brain cannot comprehend this complicated puzzle!" and he plopped down the table, giving up as his head comically let out steam.
Another dragon's out.
"What happened to your prideful statement? Is it also gone along with your brain?" Eruhaben mocked the younger dragon which hurt the latter's pride and went gloomy.
That was the first time Cale saw the ancient dragon like that. Truly, this day is full of surprises.
"Then I guess I'm the only one left?" Mila chuckled at the sight of the three dragons who were gloomy about the fact that they cannot solve a simple yet complicated puzzle which hurt their pride as dragons. The beige dragon grabbed the cube and began solving it, twisting it to different directions. 'It's easy though?'
And so she thought.
.
.
.
"Haha," she calmly put down the incomplete and unsolved cube on the table. She, too, has given up trying to complete the complicated cube. It was also too hard for her and it hurt her pride as a dragon. They are supposed to be great and mighty yet were left defeated by a simple piece of cube.
Cale is witnessing a strange yet funny sight of 4 dragons that are on the verge of experiencing the 5 stages of grief. He is also currently holding his laughter in fear of triggering the dragons' wrath which may cause his sudden death.
"How about we let Sheritt-nim solve it? Perhaps a dragon lord like her can solve it?"
Cale suggested which made the 4 dragons' ears perk up. They nodded in agreement and went to the black castle.
.
.
.
'Just... What is this?'
Cale, a simple and ordinary human, is currently experiencing a once in a lifetime experience.
Cale's eyes trembled at the sight before his eyes.
A sight which a 'true' ordinary person will deem to be too strange, or unreal.
Because that sight is....
5 dragons, which consisted of an ancient dragon and a dragon lord, currently in despair.
Yes that's right.
5. Fucking. Dragons. In. Despair.
AND THAT IS MAINLY BECAUSE OF A MERE RUBIC'S CUBE THAT THEY THEMSELVES CANNOT SOLVE!
The 5 dragons' eyes are blank probably because of shock. The 4 believed that the dragon lord can perhaps solve it herself but no, she also cannot solve a puny little cube.
They can destroy continents with a flick of a finger or they can even bring the world into chaos and yet they cannot solve this puzzle???
This is a huge shock to the world if it knew.
This brought damage to the pride of the so-called great and mighty dragons.
"I cannot believe that I, a great and mighty dragon is not so great and mighty," Raon sobbed as he buried his head on the table.
Eruhaben is wasted, too shocked to even move. Mila is already contemplating her whole existence while Dodori is also in the same state as Raon.
Sheritt just smiled.
But behind that smile was pure disappointment to herself.
Cale shook his head and grabbed the rubic's cube when another hand also grabbed it with too much strength that he can't resist.
He looked behind him to see a certain buzz cut dragon, Rasheel, the sleep addict.
'Again. What the fuck is wrong with these dragons- always appearing suddenly.'
"Hmm," Rasheel put his hand on his chin while checking the cube that he was holding.
"I can't believe all of you can't solve this," The dragon shrugged and shook his head in disappointment to the 5 dragons that are currently out of their minds.
"How about you try to solve it Rasheel-nim?"
Cale said.
And lo and behold, did he not expect that what he expected ended up becoming true.
Rasheel also went blank after a 10 minute try.
"I- I'll just go to sleep," Rasheel stated before going back to his chambers, still in the middle of contemplating his whole life.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Cale ended up showing the dragons how to solve the cube and it only took under 10 seconds which left the dragons in awe and utter shock about the fact that a human can solve it while they cannot.
A part of them say, "It's because Cale is too smart" and a part of them cannot accept that fact.
They ended up burning the cube afterwards.
'Vicious' Cale grimaced.
