Chapter Text

It was the next week of school, Fukase napping in class while the teacher taught physics. Len was flicking tiny scrunched-up pieces of paper at Fukase, trying to subtly wake him up before the teacher noticed, but to no avail. He sighed and turned his attention back to the Smartboard at the front of the class.

”And today, students, I will be assigning you a physics project to go with this lesson…” the teacher went on, explaining details. “I’ve decided to be generous and have allowed you to pick your own partners.”

Len elbowed Fukase, once again trying to wake him up.

”Dude, we have a fucking project and you’re napping..”

Fukase gave him the death stare while stretching and pretending as if no one interrupted his peaceful sleep.

“Well then, Len, let’s start planning our project.” Fukase shot back, sort of both passive-aggressively and playfully at the same time. “First thing’s first, what should be the hypothesis?”

“Wait- You’ve just went ahead and decided I’m your partner? Like, don’t you have some other friends in this clown party?” Len asked.

”Well, contrary to popular belief,” Fukase yawned. “The only people invited to this clown party are you and me.”

He scooted his chair closer to Len.

”Now, fellow clown, you have any ideas? You were the one who paid attention.”

Len’s mind was practically an empty desert. Fukase looked at him hopefully, as if Len could magically conjure up something that would get them anything above a 90. The blonde scribbled something on a piece of paper, looking as if he made up one of the greatest ideas for a project ever, and proudly handed the paper to Fukase.

NOPE.

Len smiled at him innocently. Fukase stared deadpan at him, unblinking.

”Real funny, boys.” Gumi sarcastically said from behind them. “Me and Gakupo have already come up with something!”

”Oh, shut up, Gumi. Gakupo clearly did nothing.” Len replied. Fukase grinned at the insult. Gumi scoffed and rolled her eyes dramatically, focusing her attention back onto the piece of paper in front of her.

”Do you think we could meet up after school? I don’t think we have time right now, it’s almost lunch.” Len leaned back on his chair, resulting in him almost falling off. Fukase caught his arm, only letting go when he was sure Len was sitting normally and not leaning.

”You could always come over to my house. It’s usually empty anyways, my brother is at university, and when he isn’t, he’s working.” Fukase suggested.

”Then it’s been decided!” Len proudly put his hands on his hips, beaming, as if he didn’t almost fall over and made a fool of himself in front of the whole class.
