Halloween night 1984, Omega!Steve stumbles soul sick and heart broken out of a party, the echo of ‘bullshit’ ringing through his mind, grief tripping up his steps and his scent fracturing in a hopeless cry for help.
No one except Alpha!Billy Hargrove is there to witness the former King of Hawkins High fall to his knees, crumpling from the pain of Nancy’s rejection.
No one but Billy is there to pick Steve up from the pavement, to hold the Omega right up over his heart till angry tears have turned to desperate kisses, and to hear Steve whisper ‘don’t leave me’ as the November sun rises over Hawkins, Indiana.
****“You called me Alpha.” Billys blue eyes turned red with rage when he found Steve back at Nancy’s side a few days later. “I take something like that real fuckin’ personal.”

“Wheeler.” He lit a cigarette and stared the other Alpha down. “Get your hands off my mate. Now.”
“Let it go, Billy.” Steve said softly pleading, but Billy shook his head.
“No, I don’t think I will.”
