Chapter 1: two years, two hours

Chapter Text

It's been exactly two years since Pro Hero Hawks and famous poet Touya Todoroki got married, and their wedding was literally the most romantic and perfect wedding ever. At least that's what Hawks' best woman, Mirko, Touya's best friend Tenko, and the Todoroki siblings said. The most important wedding of the year was just a small wedding between Hawks and Touya's family and friends. Of course, the bazaars had tried to locate and infiltrate the wedding, but they had failed.

Hawks and Touya's first meeting was not at all a romantic encounter that happens in books and movies. On the contrary, it was an extremely funny and humiliating moment.

In the second year of his rise as a pro hero, Hawks had attended a hero event. At the time, doing such things was very entertaining and happy for him, after all, he was a 20-year-old young man at the time. When the line of hundreds of children, young, and middle-aged people waiting to get his autograph was completely gone, Hawks was ready to go home, but he was off balance by the light weight of someone who bumped into him.

He raised his furry eyebrows in surprise at the sight of a boy standing before Hawks' honey-colored eyes, with one half of his hair as white as snow and the other half as red as blood.

“Hello, little one,” Hawks had said to the boy, whose eyes were two-colored as well as his hair, “Are you okay?”

But instead of answering him, this mystery boy stepped back as if he couldn't trust a hero, clutching the All Might plush he was holding tightly. Hawks couldn't help but stare at the scar on his face.

“Hey, hey, hey,” Hawks had said, and crouched down to look the boy in the eyes, “don't worry, I won't hurt you. After all, I am a hero—”

“Heroes hurt people too,” interrupted the boy, his two-colored eyes shining with anger and disappointment. “Only All Might is a hero unlike any other. He's the only hero I trust.”

Hawks looked at the boy in amazement and stood there, unsure of what to say to him.

“I don't think I can argue against that,” he said, then looked around and realized that it was only him and the little boy at the place where the event was held. „By the way, where is your family, kiddo?”

“My brother Touya—” said the little boy as he turned around, but when he realized that he was here alone, he fell silent in panic. “I don't know where my brother is…”

Hawks stood up and looked around with keen eyes as the little boy's voice was hoarse with fear, but he couldn't find anyone looking for the little boy.

“Look, kid,” he said to the boy again, this time not ignoring him and looking at Hawks hopefully, “If you know the phone number of a family member, I can call them— oh, don't you know? Okay, no problem. Can you tell me your name and surname? So I can tell my team to reach out to your family, and I can even take you home. In the meantime, I'll introduce you to All Might, okay?”

“Really?” the little boy asked excitedly, his two-coloured eyes shining.

“Really,” Hawks said with a smile.

“OK!” said the little boy, approaching Hawks as if he were about to reveal a big secret. Hawks had bent down and approached him. “My name is Shouto, Shouto Todoroki.”

And so Hawks experienced one of the biggest shocks of his life. Because the youngest son of his hero and idol, Endeavor, had lost his brother at a hero event and crashed into the Hawks, and the two of them were talking right now.

Hawks quickly recovered from his shock and held out one hand for Shouto to hold, with the other already calling his agency and reporting the situation to his team. Young Shouto was dozing off while Hawks waited for the Todoroki family's phone number and home address from his team. As Hawks picked him up in his arms, he had a text message on his phone. When Hawks read the message, he realized that it was the address of Todoroki Mansion, and without wasting any time, he hugged Shouto and flapped his wings, out of sight in the night sky as he walked out the door of the mall.

By the time Hawks arrived at Todoroki Mansion that night, the entire family was at the door, looking at him and in his arms at the napping Shouto, whose feathers Hawks had draped over him like a blanket.

“Shouto!” cried a young woman with glasses, with red tufts in her white hair. Hawks guessed she was roughly the same age as him.

“You killed us out of curiosity, you little beast,” the burly, white-haired boy beside him had said as he carefully picked up Shouto, who was sleeping in Hawks' arms.

Watching the Todoroki's reaction, Hawks saw a woman standing by the door with long white hair falling over her shoulder. She must have been their mother, but Hawks frowned at not seeing Endeavor. The man's son hadn't been around all day and hadn't he wondered when he heard the news that his son had been found.

As the Todoroki thanked him and shook his hand, the door of the mansion opened with a roar and a deep voice shouted towards them.

“Mom, Yumi, Natsuo! I've been searching for Shouto for hours but I can't find any trace of him, I don't know what to do—”

The young man who owned this deep voice, who had come out of the trees in the garden with his raven-black hair, had bumped into Hawks and grabbed his collar as he lost his balance and pulled him with him as he fell to the ground. Hawks groaned in surprise as he held the tattooed young man by the waist as he landed on top of him and found himself staring into a pair of icy blue eyes escaping turquoise.

“Get the fuck off me!” shouted the handsome young man, slapping Hawks in the chest and pushing him off. “Who the hell are you?!”

“A bird,” Hawks replied, still above him, like an idiot. The handsome young man and the Todorokis stopped and looked at Hawks in surprise, and then this pretty young man had a laugh, and Hawks imagined himself dancing around a fairytale love.

“Well, pretty bird,” the tattooed young man had said, placing his hands on his chest, “I would be very grateful if you could get off me.”

When Hawks realized what was going on, he stood up in a panic, reaching out to help the young man get up. Later, the Todorokis told the young man what had happened and once again thanked Hawks.

As the young man watched him with bewilderment and wonder, Hawks had said goodbye to them and just as he had spread his wings to return home, he heard a small sleepy voice call out to him.

“But you promised to introduce me to All Might,” Shouto said sleepily, rubbing his eyes. Hawks smiled as his entire family looked at him and Hawks. Then he took out a pen and a piece of paper from his pocket, wrote his number on it, and tucked it into the pocket of the tattooed young man's sleeveless shirt with one of his feathers.

“Make your brother call me when you're ready to meet All Might,” Hawks had said, and then, without saying a word, found himself lost in the night sky again.

This was the meeting story of Hawks, the famous and Japan's most favorite hero, and Touya Todoroki, known as Dabi, who made everyone cry and sob with his poems.

Hawks and Touya later met more than once and started dating within a few months. They got married a year after they became lovers.

How did Tokoyami know all this? Because Shouto, one of his closest friends, told this to him at the wedding of Hawks and Touya, when he was invited.

It has been exactly two years since Pro Hero Hawks and famous poet Touya Todoroki got married.

It has been only two hours since Fumikage Tokoyami's family was killed in a villain attack.
