Chapter 1: Requests
Chapter Text
Hello everyone! Thank you for clicking on this. I am going to set up a few rules beforehand, I know no one likes that, but there is a line that I, personally, will not cross.
1. No Pedophilia, none of that. It’s gross and just wrong, and I refuse to write about it.
2. There will be no Lemons, now, before you get mad, I can add Limes, I'm just not good at writing full-on sex scenes.
3. No Incest, this is the same with 1, it is gross and wrong.
4. If you do not describe the details of the specific oneshot you want, I will have to fill in the grey areas. Then, that might not make it as "magical" for you to read, so add any important details when you're requesting.
5. Please be patient with me. If I am about to post a chapter and see someone complaining about how it's taking too long, I will spite you by waiting another week to post it.
Now this isn't really a rule, but I will mostly be doing CharacterxReader or OC, I might do CharacterxCharacter if I like the idea enough.
Anyway, that's about it, so, request away. 😊
(My apologies that it is taking this long. I will have the first chapter up soon, I keep on trying to make myself write, but my brain keeps on saying no. I have no excuses for how long this is taking, so again, I apologize.)
Chapter 2: Cinderella? (Alastor X Human Reader) (Part One)
Summary:
Reader gets an invite to a ball hosted by none other than the crowned prince himself, Alastor! Their friend urges them to go, saying that it would be good for them. They agree. The night of the ball arrives, with unanswered questions, such as, "How will this night turn out?"
Notes:
Thank you "CerberusOfUnderworld" for this request.
Also, apologies for not posting this sooner. Not all chapters will be like this, but don't count on the next one showing up soon.
Plus, this has probably been posted during Christmas, so, Happy Christmas, and I hope you enjoy. I really enjoyed writing this as well.
It is no longer Christmas. It is past New Years. Valentine's Day has come and passed. It is now March
Once again, apologies for taking so long on this, my motivation could not be any lower.
Sadly, I'm going to make this into like, a Two-shot thing. Reason being that I have kept you all waiting far too long for this, so I am posting this one now. There's not much romance going on in this one, it's mostly just for context, I guess.
Anyways, I apologize for the millionth time.
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
They tried to swallow down the growing fear that entered their mind, clogging up their throat with a large and dry lump.
Oh god...
They stared down at the yellow-tinted letter they held in their hands. It was from the King. They were invited to the Prince's Halloween Party.
Why?
Sure, they knew that before their parents died that the pair had been some of the best political leaders that the kingdom had seen in years, but how did that relate to them getting an invitation to the Halloween Party?
And why after all of these years? Why now? Was it because they had finally turned twenty-one?
They sighed, shaking their head and dropping the letter on the coffee table. It wasn't that they didn't want to go, alright, that's a lie, they really didn't want to go, but it was also because the prince freaked them out a bit. A few years ago, he had been involved with a very seedy group of people. Then, one day he got hurt, and after that, he was completely different.
He changed his entire lifestyle after that, switching his ususal blue garments for red suits and his hair somehow changed overnight as well. It was as if he was possessed or something. The good side that came out of this was that he had started to act more like a gentleman.
Before the incident, he had been cocky, arrogant, rude, and selfish. But now, he seemed like a gentleman right out of the '30s. And apparently he had been going by a new name, something like Aron? Or maybe Amane? They weren't sure.
"I have no time to think about this now..." They said, sighing and rubbing at their temples. They picked up their book-bag and keys, stuffing their phone in their pocket, and walking out the door, making sure it was locked.
As soon as they walked onto the sidewalk outside of their apartment building they were pulled into a photo by none other than their best, and only, friend, Mattie.
"Ugh, seriously Mattie? I look awful!" They said, a playful tone to their voice. They smiled at the shorter brunette, her light blue eyes crinkling at the edges as she smiled.
"Aw, come on," Mattie said, saying her friend's name, faking annoyance, "You look beautiful no matter what."
They rolled their eyes and smirked, amused by their friend's antics. The pair fell into a comfortable silence, the only sounds being the traffic and sounds of the other people passing by.
The two didn't have to walk for long before they made it to the gate of the university. They said their goodbyes and split apart, each of them going to their separate classes.
The tall person opened the large doors in front of them, clutching their bag to their chest.
It was gonna be another long day.
Some Place Else At The Same Time
"Uh, y-your highness?"
"Yes, Mr. Jones?" A voice asked, it sounded weird though. Like he was speaking through a radio.
"The King wishes to see you, if you please." Mr. Jones said, he was a short and stout man, with brown eyes and mousy hair to match. He wore a red and black suit, on request of the Prince, all staff were to wear clothes with red as the main color.
A tall, slim figure turned to the short man and smiled wider at him. The figure stalked past the man, arms folded behind his back.
The tall man continued to walk down the halls, making his way to the throne room. His ever-present smile plastered on his face the entire time.
The large, oak doors swung open as he made his way into the throne room, all inhabitants froze as he walked past, shaking slightly.
"Ah, son, you have arrived." A masculine voice said, it belonged to a short, skinny man with blonde hair and golden eyes. He wore a white suit with gold trimming, and on his head was a golden crown.
"Good morning, King Oliver! It is a magnificent day, is it not?" The prince said, his voice ringing out through the room.
"It truly is. And please, son, call me Father." The king said, a soft smile adorning his features. The Prince's eye twitched slightly.
"Anyways, sir, what have you summoned me for?" The Prince asked, his eyes narrowing slightly at the King.
"Ah, well, I have important things to speak with you about. Regarding the ball." He said, sitting up straighter in his chair. The Prince's face contorted into one of annoyance, but it was quickly replaced with his usual smile.
"So, what about the ball should we speak of. I remember giving you all the details." He said, his red eyes narrowing.
"Yes, yes. You did do that, son, but, there is something that you forgot to address when you brought this idea to me." The King said, he stood, gesturing for the prince to follow him.
The pair made their way to a large balcony that gave a marvelous view of the city below. The sun was just reaching above the horizon, the orange hue melting into the pinks and reds of the sky.
"So, your highness, what is it that I forgot to address in my, very lengthy and very detailed, explanation of the ball?" The smile on his face and the look in his eyes was enough to make the King shudder in fear. He took a breath and composed himself, taking a step to stand next to the prince.
"Well, you never truly told me why you were holding this ball, son. Plus, you never gave me a specific guest list. All you told me was to invite whoever I thought would be best suited for it." He said, turning his golden gaze to the taller young man beside him.
"Hm, well, I suppose I do owe you an explanation. But, I do not wish to speak of it now. Besides, shouldn't you be getting things ready? The ball is in just three days, after all." The prince turned his crimson eyes to the King next to him, his head slightly tilted.
"Oh, yes. I suppose you're right. I'll go and tell the staff to start setting things up for this grand occasion." King Oliver said, smiling to himself, he was so proud of his son for taking his advice and turning his life around. Although, he did find it a bit unnerving how he had changed so much within a few days. It was like he was possessed.
The King shook off those pesky thoughts, he was just looking too far into it. His son had become a better man, and was looking for a potential bride, or husband. He wasn't sure who his son would pick.
That Afternoon
"So, what homework did Professor Magne give you? Lyra said it was awful." Mattie asked, her face contorted into one of humor as she saw her friend's eyes widen to a comically large size.
"Ah, shit. Thanks girl, I almost forgot about that." They said, pulling a large, green folder out of their backpack and plopping it on the table, it made a loud "Bam!" sound when it hit said table.
"Holy guacamole. Is that all from her?" Mattie asked, her eyes showing complete surprise.
"Yep," they sighed, "and she expects everyone to get this all done by Friday."
"FRIDAY?!" Mattie yelled, her blue eyes widened even more, if that was possible, "But That's In Two Days!"
"Yep, but I have to get it done. I can't just drop this class. It's part of my major, so if I do, I'll just have to pick it up again in my final semester," They said, running their hand through their hair. But then they smirked a bit, chuckling to themselves, "But, it is a bit of a bonus that Professor Magne is my teacher in that class."
"Yeah? And why's that?" Mattie asked, her eyebrows raising slightly.
"Because she's Professor Lilith Magne, Mattie, figure it out," They said, laughing slightly. Mattie furrowed her brows before her eyes widened and her mouth formed an O shape.
"Oh. Yes. I see now," She said, it was silent for a moment before the two busted out laughing.
"Anyway, we better get to working on this," The taller of the pair said, running their hand down their face.
"Yeah," Their friend said, the two were placed in a comfortable silence. The only sounds coming from outside the apartment building. It was only after a few minutes that a loud ring tone broke the silence.
They both turned their attention to the phone next to them. The taller friend picked it up and looked at the caller ID. It just said: Unknown Number.
"Who is it?"
"I don't know," They said, their brows furrowed. They answered the call, "Hello?"
"Am I speaking to," the caller paused before speaking their full name. They blinked.
"This is them."
"Ah, well, I have called you for a follow-up on the letter you received yesterday evening. You did receive it, yes?"
"Uh, yeah. I did receive a letter. But-" They were cut off by the person on the other side of the phone.
"Ah, that's good. Now, I called you to ask if you were going to attend the event? You will be coming, won't you?" The person asked, while her friend had been speaking, Mattie had hear something about a letter, and had noticed a yellow-tinted envelope on the other side of the coffee table. She picked it up and looked inside.
"Ah, well, I don't think-" Once again they were cut off, but this time by their friend.
"YES! THEY ARE GOING TO ATTEND!" Mattie yelled, startling them. They dropped the phone and Mattie immediately snatched it up from the ground, "Ahem, yes, my friend will most definitely be attending the Prince's ball. Please set them up for a spot."
"Uh, ok? Might I ask who this is?"
"Can I ask who you are?"
"Fair enough. Ok, we will be expecting them to be there at 8:30 P.M. on the 31st," The person on the other side of the phone said, saying a quick goodbye before hanging up.
"What The Fuck?! Mattie! I Was Going To Decline!" They said, turning to their friend and glaring down at her.
"Well, this'll be good for you! You were invited to The Prince's Halloween Ball. There is no way you're not going!" Mattie said, a large smile on her face. Her friend facepalmed and ran their hand over their face in annoyance.
"Jesus... You do realize that I have a presentation due on Monday, right? And my homework is due on the same day as the ball. I was going to use the free time I have from now until then to finish it. Now I'm probably going to get a zero!" They plopped down on the couch, sighing and resting their head between their hands.
"Don't be silly! It's just one night. If you need help, I'll come over. I don't have any homework or projects I need to do this weekend. At least, not that I know of," She chuckled, rubbing the back of her head. Her friend huffed and toppled onto their side, burying their face into the couch cushions, "Oh, don't be like that!"
The brunette attempted to pull her friend into a sitting position, but failed miserably, resulting in her friend letting out a dry chuckle. "Now, the person on the phone said that the party would be on the 31st, in two days. You know what that means!"
"Dear god help me..." The tall person grumbled, groaning into the cushions.
"We Get To Go Shopping For A New Outfit!" Mattie yelled, smiling brightly and nearly jumping with joy.
"Do we have to? I've already got like..." They furrowed their brows, thinking, before brightening up and continuing, "five different dresses. Plus those three tuxedos that I got for my birthday."
"Aw, come on. This Is The Halloween Ball, for Christ's sake! We have to get you something new! Something... Flashy!" Mattie continued, her face holding a smile that could put all others to shame.
"Seriously? Imitating him, at a time like this?"
"Ah, come on! It was a little bit funny." She said walking over to her friend and wrapping her arm around her shoulders, making her friend tense involuntarily. "Now. Let's Get You An Outfit!"
"Mattie, I don't have enough money to actually afford a new outfit. I'll just wear that plain tux, it's formal enough." They said, Mattie rolled her eyes.
"Oh, money won't be a problem, I have a friend at a tailor shop, I'm sure she- he'll be able to get you a tux rented before the ball. He owes me a few favors, so we should be able to rent one for a... relatively cheap price. We can head there now." She said, smiling and taking out her phone
The room was silent for a bit before they sighed, gently taking their friend's arm and getting it off their shoulders.
"Fine, fine. I'll go. But we'll have to do it tomorrow. We still have to work on this." They sighed for what felt like the billionth time before smiling a bit.
"Yes! We will make you look absolutely Stunning! Everyone will be looking your way! Wishing they could look as amazing as you!"
"Mattie, you know I would die on the spot if everyone started staring at me. Besides, I don’t even look that good, I'm average." They said, looking off to the side and scratching their cheek. Mattie rolled her eyes and sighed.
"Fine, fine, you know what I meant. And don't say that, you're beautiful."
The two went back to work after that. Occasionally helping the other out on a question or problem that was particularly difficult. They continued to work on the papers until they were both finished, making sure to check over the other's work.
Mattie gathered her things and placed them all in her oversized backpack, she gave her friend a quick hug, which they reluctantly returned, before opening the door for their friend.
"I'll see you tomorrow, Mattie." They said, smiling softly at her. Mattie smiled back, her hazel eyes crinkling at the edges.
"See ya', and don't stay up all night doing... whatever it is you do. Goodnight," Her friend's name fell out of her mouth before she turned and walked out the door and down the hall to the stairs.
They smiled a bit, chuckling to themselves, before slowly shutting the door.
The Next Day
"You want me, to rent them, an entire tux, by tomorrow afternoon?"
"Tomorrow morning would be best," Mattie said, holding up her finger matter-of-factly, the man she was speaking to rolled his eyes and sighed. They took a look at the person standing behind her, looking them up and down. He looked back at Mattie before rubbing his temples and waved for the two to follow him.
"Fine, but it won't be easy, we don't have many tuxes in stock for someone as tall as them. Or with that exact body type." He looked behind him over his shoulder at the person he was speaking of, "No offense of course."
"None taken." They said, although there was actually a bit of offense taken.
"Now, Imma' ask ya' a few questions, not hard ones, just ones that will help me narrow down the options." He said, raking a hand through his brightly-colored, short hair. Honestly, it was his most defining feature, other than his almost toxic-green eyes. He stopped in front of a mirror, turning to the two behind him, "First question, is there a specific type of tux you're looking for, any preferences or things I should avoid?"
"Well, I don't really have any preferences, I don't really wear things like this all that often. So, why don't you pick what you think would be right for me?" They said, noticing the male's eye twitching slightly.
"Fine, I'll need to get a few measurements first, to make sure that I don't get you one that's too tight in some places or too loose in others. Please, come over here." He gestured them over, a measuring tape coming out of, seemingly, nowhere, "Don't worry, I'll be done in no time. I'll get these all put together and then I'll try and find a tux that you could wear."
Mattie thanked him again, all he did was roll his eyes and start the measurements.
The Next Day (Again)
"COME ON! COME ON! If You Don't Hurry Up, The You'll Be Late For The Ball!" Mattie yelled, rolling her eyes and tapping her foot furiously against the floor. Her friend had been locked in their bathroom for about an hour now, something about them being uncomfortable with getting ready with other people around, and she was becoming impatient.
"Just one more minute, please. I just need to..." They trailed off for a moment before smiling to themself, they took one last look in the mirror and opened the door. "And Done!"
All was quiet for a bit, with the pair staring at each other. Before Mattie beamed brightly and lunged at her friend, giving them a hug, while also being careful not to mess up their outfit. Her friend tensed under the unexpected touch, but smiled gently and awkwardly patted their friend's head.
"You, look, absolutely Stunning!" She said, looking up at them with her bright eyes. "I never realized you cleaned up so well, why don't you put this much effort into your looks everyday? If you did, I'm sure you'd have a partner by now."
Her friend deadpanned, blinking slowly and sighing, brushing a stray strand of hair out of their face.
"Yeah, but that's the problem, it takes effort and motivation to look like this, Mattie. And those are two things that I do not have." Their friend shrugged and stepped back, putting her hands in her hips. "Now, shall we get going?"
She nodded and snatched her keys off of the coffee table, grabbing her friend's phone and ID card and handing it to them. They stuffed the things into their pocket, making sure they were in there tight.
Wouldn't want to lose them.
"LET'S GO GET YOU A PRINCE!"
"Jesus fuck..." They chuckled at their friend's antics and the two left the apartment, locking the door and heading to the exit.
Some Place Else, Thirty Minutes Later
"My Prince, almost all of the guests are here, are you sure you wish to stay in your quarters?" The familiar voice of Mr. Jones spoke, his tone wary, and his form shaking slightly.
"Mr. Jones, as I said before, I shall exit my room and enter the ball when I feel like it. And it appears you forgot what I said." The Prince said, his back turned to the man. His voice changed slightly in the middle of his sentence, making the man tense up.
"Right, my apologies, your highness. I shall not bother you again."
"Good."
The short man exited the room, as he did so, he let out a shakey sigh, letting the tension slowly fade. He took a deep breath and returned to his normal demeanor, walking down the hallway with his arms behind his back. Something caught his eye, outside the window. He stopped and turned, seeing a small, black car parking in front of the castle gates, he frowned, before seeing a person in formal attire exiting the car, realizing that they were one of the guests.
They stopped, and leaned down to look into the car, he couldn't make out what they were doing, but he concluded that they were speaking to the driver. He shook his head and continued on his way to the ballroom.
"You Have Fun! And Remember What Alice Said! You Need To Get That Back By 12:30!" Mattie yelled from the car, her friend turned around and gave her a thumbs-up. As she sped away they turned to the large castle in front of them.
They took a breath before walking towards the large doors, two guards stood on either side, with a man in a black tux and a clipboard standing in the middle.
"Name please." He said as they stopped in front of him. They told him their entire name and he began scanning the list, not finding it in the first page and flipping to the second one. After a few more seconds, he nodded and opened one of the doors for them. "You may come in, have a nice time."
"And to you as well, sir," said they, passing through the door. When they entered the room, they were immediately eveloped in loud, echoing banter and classical music.
The large room was full of men and women, all wearing suits and dresses far more elegant than the one our protagonist was wearing.
'Eh, that's what I get for waiting till the last second...' They thought, taking in the gorgeous white and gold patterns everywhere in the room. 'Besides, I'll probably be leaving soon, no one seems to be doing anything... Oh nevermind.'
Their attention turned to where a large spotlight was pointing. All the music and chatter in the room had stopped, they weren't sure why, until they saw him.
It was the Prince.
He had arrived.
They had never seen him up close, only in far-away shots from the television. He definitely looked a lot different from what they had expected.
He was taller than he was portrayed in the photos, and his skin was sort of grayish. He wore a suit with a monochromatic color scheme of red. Just red. Red bow tie, red coat, red pants. Everything was red.
He wore a large smile on his face, showing almost all of his teeth, and looked around the room. He looked over all of the guests, taking in each and every one of them. Then his eyes zeroed in on theirs. They tensed just slightly, a foreboding feeling coming off of him in waves. They furrowed their eyebrows as the Prince met their eyes, his large, crimson irises looked like two pools of blood.
After a few moments, they broke their gaze away from his, finding a pillar next to them to be quite a bit more interesting. They didn't notice the Prince's eyebrow quirk up slightly, before moving on to take in the rest of his guests.
After a few more moments of silence, the Prince finally opened his mouth to speak.
"I welcome you all to my Halloween Ball. It is a pleasure to see so many of you arrived," He spoke, his voice confused many of the people in the large room. It had a strange quality that it hadn't had the last time he had made an appearance. "Now, let the real party commence! Please, help yourselves to the food on the large white-clothed table in the back of the room. The music will be provided by the lovely band on my left, now, please, enjoy yourselves."
The spotlight turned off and the regular lighting returned, most of the guests returned to conversing with one another, while the rest, including the tall newcomer, stood around awkwardly.
They didn't know anyone here, what were they supposed to do? Why did they come here?
They shook their head and took a deep breath. It'll be fine. Just do something. They looked around, trying to find a familiar person, or a particularly nice looking stranger. They couldn't start the night off by eating, no, they would be judged. Maybe later.
As they were scanning the crowd, their eyes met a pair of crimson ones and they tensed. His eyes didn't leave theirs, and they didn't dare look away from him. They didn't know what, but something about him just rubbed them the wrong way.
After a few moments, he turned his attention elsewhere, allowing them to let out a breath they didn't realize they were holding. They looked around once more and spotted a familiar blonde-haired head. They smiled and made their way over to the man.
"Eden! What're you doing here? It's been a while," They said, the shorter male turned to them and he smiled, his complextion was as pale as ever, and so was his hair.
"Hey, good to see you, dude," He said, smiling and shaking his friend's hand. The two had met in middle-school and had become fast friends, mostly because they had the same sense of humor, "I haven't seen you since, what, graduation?"
"It was a wonder how you were up on that stage with us..." They said, smirking as he rolled his eyes. Their smile turned soft though, after a moment, "But it is great to see you. What exactly are you doing here though?"
"Oh, you know, remember how David and I said we were going to work in a Casino once we were adults?" He asked, they had an idea of where this was going. Eden smiled, "Well, now we own the casino!"
"Wait, seriously? That's amazing dude! Which one?" They asked, smacking his shoulder lightly. He smirked and opened his mouth.
"Harrah's," he said lightly, his friend looked shocked before smiling again.
"Dude, that's awesome! Harrah's is like, the most popular casino in the country!" They said, he nodded and chuckled a bit.
"I know, right?"
"Wait, but, don't you have to be twenty-one to work there? If so, you would only have been working there for a year..." They trailed off and flicked their eyes over to his, "You didn't."
"Sure did," He said a sly grin making its way onto his face.
"You do know that if your higher-ups find this out, you and David will be fired, and probably be sent to jail," They said, crossing their arms across their chest and tapping their foot.
"Yeah, but they won't find out. The one who employed us was smart, and he didn't even look twice at the fake IDs we gave him. Seemed pretty convincing if you ask me," He said, flashing a toothy grin. His friend rolled their eyes again and letting their arms fall to their sides.
"Ok then, but don't come crying to me when you end up getting fired," They said, placing a hand on their hip, a playful tone in their voice.
The two fell into a comfortable silence, the sounds of music and chatter falling into the background as the taller of the two looked around. They noticed that some people had already gone over to the table displaying food and furrowed their brows, they shrugged and turned back to their friend.
"Hey, I'm going to get a snack, you want anything?" They asked jutting their thumb over their shoulder. Eden turned to them and shook his head.
"Nah, I'm good, it was great talking to you though," He said, holding his hand out. They took it and shook his hand, "See ya."
They nodded and turned back to the table, carefully making their way around people, trying not to bump into anyone. Once they reached the table, they took a small, silver plate. They looked at it for a second, admiring the pattern embedded into it, before looking over the choices on the table.
There was a lot of food, most of which was fancy shit they had never seen before, like what the hell was "Tiramisu?" They shrugged and took a small slice of what looked like chocolate cake, then took a napkin and fork and turned around to look for a place to eat it.
Although, they didn't expect for someone to be directly behind them. They jumped and the cake came flying out of their hands, and directly onto the front of their shirt.
"Oh, shit. I'm so sorry for bumping-" They started, before they were cut off by the familiar radio-sounding voice.
"Oh, it is quite alright my dear! I should be the one apologizing to you, if I hadn't been standing here, then your suit wouldn't have gotten dirty," He said, laughing slightly, he looked down at their chest, where the chocolate had fallen, "Here, allow me."
He pulled a handkerchief out of who-knows-where, and starts lightly dabbing at the mess...
unintentionally making it worse.
Instead of wiping it away, all his attempts are doing is spreading it farther and deeper into the fabric. His smile lowers slightly, before he looks back into their eyes and pauses.
"Do I know you?" He asked, he could have sworn he had seen a pair of eyes that looked exactly like their's from somewhere. But that wasn't right, they were alive, not somewhere in Hell, rotting like all of the other sinners.
So where did he know them from?
"Oh, I do not believe I have had the honor of speaking to you yet, your Highness," They say, a uncomfortable smile on their face. He took note of that, before offering his hand to the person, they looked at it before hesitantly placing their hand atop his.
"Well then, please, allow me to introduce myself, I am Alastor, the Prince of this castle," He said, his sharp teeth glinting in the light. They smiled, and he stood up straighter, his posture somehow becoming even more excellent, "But, you already knew that, didn't you?"
They nodded at the red-clad man, their smile softened slightly, making him grin even more. They interested him, unlike a lot of the humans here.
Perfect.
"Here, why don't you come with me? I can get someone to clean that up for you," He said, his grip on their hand tightened just the slightest bit, and for a second they were worried. He turned his head with such speed at such an inhumane angle, that they half expected his neck to snap like a twig, "Mr. Jones!"
His voice wasn't as loud as he had hoped, against the many guests talking amongst themselves, and the band, he was half sure the old man hadn't heard him. Yet, just like always, the short man made a beeline to his superior. He bowed, his glasses almost falling off his face as he did so.
"Yes, my Prince?" He asked, they were worried for the poor man, with how fast he had just ran here from wherever he came from, he must be tired, or hurt maybe? There was no way that any other elder could do what he just did.
Perhaps it was an experience thing?
"Ah, good to see you, old friend. This kind person here had a bit of an accident, that I unknowingly caused. I was hoping there was something you could do for them?" Alastor said, gesturing towards the person he stood next to. They waved at Mr. Jones, an embarrassed smile creeping up on their face. He nodded and quickly walked away, presumably to find something that could get the stains out of the shirt.
Oh gods, Alice was going to be so pissed.
"I thank you for your kindness, your Highness," They said, bowing lightly, the Prince chuckled, his static filled voice was practically the only thing they could hear.
"Why, of course, my dear. Why, what kind of gentleman would I be if I didn't help someone in need, hm?" He looked down at them slightly, meeting their dull eyes with his bright, crimson ones. They chuckled a bit, rubbing the back of their neck, "Now, if you would be so kind as to follow me?"
He started to lead them in the direction of a set of doors, they carefully followed behind him. The pair caught the eyes of all they passed, causing whispers to be thrown about. They made eye contact with a pair of pale blue eye and Eden smiled at them, giving them a thumbs-up. They smiled weakly, swallowing the lump that had been forming in their throat.
Alastor took notice of the human's uneasiness, usually, he enjoyed making people fear him. But, this was one of the few times where he didn't.
If any of the humans found out about what he was, there would have to be some... precautions that he would have to put in place. Just to make sure no one else found out.
The Queen came up to the surface world almost twice a month, staying for a few days, doing Lucifer knows what. So, he wouldn't get any repercussions, he just needed to keep the humans' knowledge of him to a minimum.
He would have to try and keep this human calm, and make sure they didn't suspect anything. Otherwise... there would most likely be a little äçčîđëņţ.
Alastor guided them through the crowd, his smile never faltered as he looked around. Although, he had his sights set on the doors on the other side of the hall, he couldn't stop stealing glances at the person by his side.
They, on the other hand, could feel the Prince's gaze flickering over to them every few seconds. It was a bit unnerving.
The pair finally made it to the large doors, Alastor opened one and gestured for them to go in. They smiled at him, albeit, a bit nervously. The hall that they entered was just as large as the last, with red curtains covering the windows, and a beige-marbled floor.
"Now, my dear, you must be wondering why I brought you here instead of waiting in the other hall. Yes?" He asked, they nodded fiddling with their tumbs.
"Yeah, I am. But, and I hope you don't mind my asking, why are you doing this?" He tilted his head in confusion, they sighed rephrasing their sentence, "What I mean is, why are you making such a fuss about this? I did not know you until tonight, and vice-versa. Yet you are being so kind as to attempt to keep me from losing my dignity, instead of having me walk around with a stain on the front of my outfit. I understand that it us the polite thing to do, so I shouldn't feel as special as I do now, but-"
They cut themselves off, clearing their throat and looking away from the prince.
"My apologies, I was rambling." Alastor chuckled a bit, they raised an eyebrow at him. He waved them off, his eyes trained directly into theirs.
"My dear, it is alright. We all tend to ramble at times," He fixed his bowtie, folding his hands behind his back, "The reason I am doing this is because, to put it quite plainly, you interest me. I wish to get to know you better, to figure out why I feel as though I am being drawn to you." He says, their eyes widen slightly, and they tug slightly at the cuffs of their sleeves.
"Oh, well, thank you for giving me such an honest answer, your highness," They say, a more genuine, soft smile creeping onto their lips.
"Why, of course my dear. I find that honesty is the best policy, don't you?"
Although he was lying to an entire kingdom at the moment, but that doesn't matter.
"Yes, I suppose so," Alastor's smile brightens, if that was even possible, and his head turns in the direction of footsteps.
"Ah, Mr. Jones, how wonderful to see you. Did you get what I asked?" Mr. Jones adjusts his tie, seemingly a bit uncomfortable, he avoids eye contact with the Prince, "Mr. Jones?"
"My apologies, your highness. I was not able to find any spare clothing or the like for this person." His voice is anxious, his eyes trained on the ground. He was obviously terrified, but they did not know of what.
"Ah... I see, how... unfortunate." Alastor grips his cane, where did that come from, tightly. He turns to the other person, his smile seeming to be more forced this time, "My apologies, dear, it seems as though that stain will not be taken care of. Mr. Jones, what do you have to say for yourself?"
"I-i apologize, I have made a complete fool of myself, and now that foolishness has effected you. I was not able to get what you needed, and I am truly sorry," Mr. Jones bows at them, his voice filled with fear, he tugged at the collar of his jacket.
"Oh, no, no, it's quite alright... Mr. Jones, it wasn't your fault that I spilt it. There is no need to be bowing, I should be apologizing to you, and you, your highness," They paused, turning to the prince, "I have wasted your time, and I am sincerely sorry for that."
Alastor is slightly surprised, he hasn't seen someone like this in... well, never. They were kind, something that he doesn't see often, and it was honestly a nice change of pace.
He chuckles, a bit, staring into their eyes.
"Dear, there is no need for you to apologize to me," He pauses for a moment.
Perhaps they shall be the one?
"Here, for taking up your time, I can offer you a new outfit, and then we can share a dance, how does that sound?" The person in front of him froze, just slightly. A light heat spread across their cheeks, they cleared their throat, a beat of silence passed before they responded.
"Oh, w-well, I suppose that would be nice. I accept, thank you, your highness." They bow their head slightly, fiddling with their hands.
Alastor smiles wider, holding out his arm for them, they gently take it, and he turns to look at something else.
"Well then, let's not waste another second."
Notes:
I'm very sorry.
