This is going to explain a few things of certain aspects of the book and I will be responding to any questions about the fanfic in the comment section
Why can't Xerneas heal Ash?
While in lore Xerneas is extremely powerful in his healing capabilities, there is no way he would just go everywhere to heal every single Pokémon and human. After all if they die in accidents/ natural causes it just makes sense that he does not want to heal them as it is by nature. He would only heal if Yveltal had taken some form of action that disobeyed the laws of nature.
The ending
The reason why the ending was quite short in the last few months is to demonstrate that Ash's time is getting less and less. Since he had finished what Tapu Koko wanted him to do, he was allowed to rest and he does not notice on how much time has passed.
The ending is supposed to be unsatisfying as there will be a sequel that will explain a bit more so hopefully you guys are cool with that
