Chapter 1: The beginning of something new

Chapter Text

Han Jisung looked up at the huge sign above the building’s entry that consisted only of three letters: SKZ. SKZ – an up and rising entertainment company where he would hopefully have a job at the end of the day. He had an interview in – Jisung looked at his cheap watch – fifteen minutes. He had tried to arrive earlier but traffic had been terrible and now he was in a hurry. He didn’t have high hopes for the interview because even though he knew he was a fantastic producer and would do a good job, most people didn’t believe in him. It had been two months that he lived in Seoul and every job interview he had had would come to a sudden end after the interviewer looked at his resumee where it was mandatory to state your subgender. And on Jisung's was written omega, unfortunately. He stopped the thought and shook his head. No, not unfortunately, he liked his subgender. Just because every fucking interviewer thought he was worthless, doesn't mean he should ever lose his pride in being an omega. He knew he was a talented producer and if these fucking idiots would have listened to his fucking mixtapes just for two fucking minutes they would have heard it and BEGGED him to work for them, but NOOOO, an omega producer? Of course not, that’s impossible, because “omegas are only good for raising children, being housepartners and maybe, if they are lucky, be a model or an idol, jobs where they didn’t have to think or do much”. Fucking bullshit, Jisung hated it.

With one last look up at the SKZ sign he shrugged the negative thoughts away and entered the building. He should go to the interview with a positive mindset, because positive thoughts bring positive results, at least that’s what his mom had always said. The entrance hall was amazing, it was huge but still homely with big sofas and lots of plants everywhere. As Jisung walked up to the big desk in the centre of the hall, a young man smiled up at him and and asked how he could help.
“Hi, I’m Han Jisung, I’m here for a job interview for the producer position.”
“Good morning Mr Han, the elevators are there”, the secretary pointed to the elevators that were near the entrance and Jisung had obviously seen them but the man was only doing his job so he smiled and nodded, “and you need to go to the second floor, my collegue there will show you the room.”
“Thank you very much.” Jisung bowed slighty, waved goodbye at the helpful man and went to the elevators.

A man already stood there and had pressed the button so Jisung just stood beside him until the elevator arrived and both of them stepped in. Only now, as Jisung looked in the mirror on the doors, did he see the other man’s face and it was absolutely stunning. He had blond hair that was combed back and it reached his neck. His beautiful slender neck, where Jisung could clearly see three bite marks, just slightly beneath a beautiful blue collar. He was tall, probably 10 cm taller than him and slender, maybe he was one of the dancers here? He certainly was pretty enough to be one of the models too. Jisung didn’t think that he had ever seen such a beautiful man in real life and with both of them now being in a small enclosed space he could smell him and wow, he didn’t think he had ever found an omega smell this attractive. It just smelled heavenly like rose petals and Jisung shouldn’t have been this attracted to the smell but he couldn’t help himself as he took a deep breath. He didn’t even really like roses and this omega was mated which normally tainted the smell a bit because his inner omega shouldn’t be looking for partners anymore but the smell came to Jisung clearly and deliciously. He took another breath, more subtly this time, even though the omega hadn’t looked up from his phone once since entering the elevator. Why did he find this smell so delicious? This had never happened before, especially not with another omega, even if he had had sexual and romantic experiences with all subgenders. The elevator came to a stop and as Jisung took one last breath he wished for a moment that he hadn’t put on a scent blocker this morning so he could smell how well his own honey smell mingled with the roses. But he didn’t want to give the interviewer an extra reminder that he was an omega. It was wishful thinking but maybe if they couldn’t smell him, they wouldn’t have the same stereotypes?

Jisung couldn’t take his eyes off the other man and only when the doors of the elevator opened did he realize that he had forgotten to press the button for the second floor. Embarassment flooded him. The interview today was important, he shouldn’t let himself be distracted, not even by the most beautiful omega he had ever laid eyes on. Quickly he pressed the right button and watched the man leave with a last appreciative look. Jisung didn’t believe in love at first sight but he couldn’t deny the disappointment he felt at the thought of probably never seeing the man again.
But no, that’s not what he should have been thinking about right now. He NEEDED to get this job. His landlord had already threatened to throw him out of his appartment twice and he had only eaten instant ramen for the last two weeks because he couldn’t afford anything else. So no, he would not let the most beautiful man on earth distract him from his goal and as the elevator’s doors opened again (this time on the right floor), he exited with a big smile on his face and strict determination on his mind. The secretary of this floor (does every floor in this building have their own secretary?) led him to the waiting area where he had to sit around doing nothing and becoming more and more nervous for fifteen minutes, until one of the doors nearby opened and a young woman with a nice smile greeted him and asked him if he was Han Jisung. Upon his nod she opened the door even more and asked him to sit on one of the two chairs in front of her desk. She sat at her own chair and looked at him carefully.

“Mr Han, my name is Ms Kim. You are here for the position of a producer. Is that correct?”
“Yes, exactly. You received my resumee and my mixtape?”
“Yes.” The woman looked apologetic now and Jisung hated that look because he knew exactly what it meant. Now he would have to listen to a lame excuse of why they couldn't hire him and how sorry they were and that they hoped he would soon find a job at a more suitable company and/or some other bullshit that Jisung didn't really wanna hear, but he would make sure they had to look him in the eyes when they sent him away. Both of them knew the only reason why she wouldn't give him the job was his subgender. She said: “Unfortunately the position was already filled yesterday.”
Jisung just stared at her because this was a new level of disrespect, even towards an omega some assholes didn’t think deserved respect. If they didn’t want to hire him because of his subgender, fine (well not fine, it was fucked up) but this was just plainly rude.
“So you made me come here to tell me the job I came here for is not available anymore?”
“Yes …”, Jisung started to get up, “but no, please hear me out, Mr Han.” Jisung remained standing, he wouldn’t allow a treatment like this. He wished he could smell Ms Kim to find out her intentions, but she also wore smell blockers. “I am really sorry for how this was handled, we have a new intern who messed up but that shouldn’t be an excuse, I am aware of that. I only found out that you were waiting outside when I got the call and I am sorry you had to wait, but I needed to call somebody.”
As Ms Kim pointed again to the chair, Jisung sat down, a bit calmer but still pissed. “Okay?”
“I know it probably isn’t ideal but we have a position free that you may be interested in. I know it isn’t exactly what you came here for and the pay at the beginning is not as great as it would be in the producer position, but would you be interested to work as the assistant of one of our top producers? Maybe you have heard of him? His name is Bang Chan.”

Jisung had to stop his mouth from falling open. Heard of him?! He was a huge fan of the man and his work and had listened to every single song Chan produced. He was one of the inspirations for starting producing even if Chan was only a couple of years older than him. And not only did he love how he produced music, Jisung had listened to a lot of Chan’s songs where he sang as well and he loved the meaningful lyrics that had helped him to not lose sight of what was important a couple of times. But he couldn’t just spill all of his thoughts onto his interviewer, so Jisung just nodded and said: “Yes, I know him. What would this job contain?”
Ms Kim showed a small smile, she was probably encouraged that he hadn’t stormed out yet. “Well, some of it and especially at the beginning will be typical assistant tasks: getting coffee, managing his appointments, ordering his food in and stopping people from just entering his office whenever they have the smallest question. It is really important that you have the willpower to do the last task, as it is the reason we had to fire the last assistant. Mr Bang coulnd’t get any work done because he got interrupted every five minutes which brought a big disadvantage to the whole company. Do you think you could handle that?”
“Yes.”
“Good. And as I said, these tasks will be what you do in the beginning, but you are a producer as well and we will inform Mr Bang of this. You may be allowed to start producing as well. But please consider that this is not a promise, rather a possibility that I can’t guarantee.”
She looked at im expectantly and Jisung didn’t know what to say. This wasn’t what he had come for, that’s true, but it was a job. A job with possibilities even and it was not like he could actually say no to this. Being desperate sucks. But there was one important thing left.
“What is the pay?”

After she said the number Jisung made sure to not look too excited. Even if his heart started beating fast at the prospect of being able to eat actual food and not have to start sleeping under the bridge, he just nodded and said: “Sounds good. I’d like to take the position. When can I start?”
Ms Kim’s face lit up and she shook his hand. “Perfect, I’m content. We’ll send you the paperwork per mail – the one on your resumee works, right? Perfect - and you can start as soon as you’ve send it back with your signatures.” She laughed slightly. “No wait, Monday would be better, we don’t just want you to start on a random weekday, that would be strange.”

Jisung actually wouldn’t mind but he simply agreed and on the elevator ride down he jumped up and down and let out an excited “YES!”. As he exited the building he was happy for the first time in a long while. He looked one last time at the SKZ sign (but only the last time for that day, he would see it again on Monday and hopefully many days after that!) and started his journey home. He couldn’t wait to prove to Bang Chan what he can do and to start producing for such a high profile company. Even if his job title didn’t allow much at the moment, he was sure he would be able to prove himself. And maybe, just maybe, he would see the pretty omega again. Even if he was mated, just smelling the roses again would be great. During this thought he saw a flower shop on the other side of the road and yes, his bank account didn’t show it yet, but the number Ms Kim told him was high enough for Jisung to justify buying a single rose to bring the smell home with him.
He couldn’t wait for Monday.

Chapter 2: Jisung's first workday #1

Summary:

Jisung meets Chan

Chapter Text

Jisung woke up early on Monday and he was glad he had been able to sleep even for a few hours. Since the interview last Tuesday he had been nervous about his first workday and now that it was only a few hours away, he felt like puking his dinner out. Even just the thought of breakfast was repelling and so he decided to do some streches to loosen up a bit. Jisung knew he wouldn’t be able to shake off all the nervousness but he’d like to at least function somewhat normally today. Soon he felt better and after a short reply to his best friend Yuna's "good luck on your first day"-message he managed to eat plain bread and drink some orange juice. He still couldn’t totally believe he finally got a job, even after an extensive party night and one at home celebration dinner with Yuna’s pack. He had only met the other omega when he had moved to Seoul, she and her pack were his neighbours and upon finding out that Jisung had literally no one in the city – no relatives, no friends, not even a pet -, they basically adopted him and he was allowed to visit whenever he wanted and steal food or cuddles, whatever he needed at the moment. But still, Jisung was not part of their pack and during Yuna’s heat he hadn’t seen any of them for an entire week.
It was not like he was lonely …
That was a lie. He was lonely, not having a pack was hard and even if nothing could bring him back to his home pack ever, it still sucked having to sleep alone. Jisung didn’t even want to think about his upcoming heat and how hard it would be. He still had one month to prepare but the decision whether or not he wanted to get a heat partner should be taken soon if he wanted to find somebody he could learn to trust until then, because Jisung wasn’t a trusting person.

But he shouldn’t be thinking about that right now, one stressful topic at the time. His first day of work. He wanted to make a good impression, so Yuna had helped him choose his outfit but he still wasn’t sure if it was the right one. They chose a nice white shirt and simple black pants, no jewellry and his black collar marking him as an unbonded omega visible. He had thought about hiding it beneath a turtleneck, but he was proud of his subgender and it had seemed wrong. But he decided to put on scent blockers because he really didn’t know the customs of the company. Did the employees expose their scents or not? The beautiful omega in the elevator had his scent exposed, but Ms Kim hadn’t. Maybe the omega had a special position in the company? Jisung wasn’t sure and Yuna had said it was better to be safe than sorry, so he applied an extra thick layer of the scentless cream. Was it allowed for omegas to wear low-cut-shirts that showed their necks? Jisung knew it wasn’t common but he had heard of companys prohibiting it because alphas wouldn’t be able to control themselves which was utter bullshit but sure, it was the omegas’s fault if they were assaulted. Fucking dumb rules made by fucking sexist alphas.
Deep breaths, Jisung, he thought to himself, let’s calm down. It was just his nervousness acting up. He had never done a job like this before. Sure, give him voice samples and instrumentals and he knew he’d do a fantastic job, but ASSISTING somebody?
Well, he would learn. And if his music was anything to go by, Chan wouldn’t be an absolute asshole which was a good start. Looking at his watch, Jisung decided to get going, he would still be way too early, but he really couldn’t stare at the blank walls anymore.

Standing in front of Bang Chan’s office door felt surreal. He felt like he knew the rapper from all the songs he had listened to and the interviews he had read, but could those really be any indication for the real man behind that door? Chan had always seemed nice and considerate in the interviews and from the few comments he had said about omegas, the alpha seemed to be progressive. He had even defended omega rappers a few times when they had been accused of being too weak for the scene and Jisung appreciated that. Should he knock? He probably should, he was looking like a nervous school boy standing there and repeatedly raising his hand to knock and lowering it down again. One last deep breath and he was going to do it, he was …

“You okay there?”
Thankful for the delay, Jisung turned around and looked into the face of a beautiful alpha woman that smiled at him. He smiled back.
“Yes, thank you. I am starting today as Mr Bang’s assistant.”
“Oh, you must be Han Jisung! We talked about you!” The woman flushed. “No, not talked like gossip, we just said you were starting today. What would we even gossip about, we don’t know anything about you.” Her face got redder and redder. “Not that we would gossip if we knew anything! I don’t …”
Jisung couldn’t help himself, he started laughing, this girl was cute. “Hey, don’t worry, I get it. What’s your name?”
The alpha bowed slightly and smiled again. “Kim Balam, nice to meet you.”
“Nice to meet you too, I’m Jisung.”
“Nice to meet you.” Both of them laughed and Jisung pointed to Chan’s door. “I probably should finally knock, I don’t want to be late and make a bad impression.”
“Don’t worry, Chan is nice. See you later? Maybe at lunch?”
Jisung smiled. “Sure yes, that sounds nice. See you later.”
He waved at Balam and then finally knocked. Maybe too weakly because nobody opened. He knocked again, louder this time, and when there was still no reaction from the inside, he started to softly bang on the door. Well, if banging can be done softly, but Jisung tried. It felt wrong to bang on the producer’s door but he really had enough of standing in the hall and okay, if Bang Chan didn’t open the door in the next three seconds, he would …

“What?!”
The door opened with a bang, not a soft one, and Jisung took a step back as a wave of stressed and angry alpha pheromones crashed onto him.
“What do you want? I told EVERYBODY to stop interrupting me! I’m trying to work and I won’t get the oh so important single out if you won’t let me do my job in peace!”
Chan stared Jisung down and as hard as Jisung tried to keep the eye contact and not submit to the dominant pheromones, he felt his eyes cast down and his knees weaken. It did not help that Chan’s smell was the most delicious he had ever experienced and he felt embarassed when he recognized the hot feeling in his stomach as arousal. The smell was just devine and he wanted to bask in it, but it was interwoven with anger and stress and suddenly he heard somebody whine just to press his hands over his mouth as fast as he could as he understood it was himself that had let out that embarassing sound. His eyes were fixed on the floor between his feet that suddenly came nearer and nearer as he fell to his knees.
The alpha before him immediately stopped yelling and crouched down beside him, probably to help him, but now the source of the delicious smell was even nearer and Jisung couldn’t help himself and he started to bare his neck. He couldn’t control his body anymore and even though a small part in him screamed to get up and behave like a respectable human being and not like an omega in heat, his body just wouldn’t comply. He whined again, the sound quietly coming through his hands.

The alpha’s smell lost its anger now, but it became even more stressed and a bit scared as he looked at the omega beside him baring his neck. Jisung whined again, softer this time, when the alpha took a step back. He didn’t want the alpha to go, he wanted to please him, to help him feel less angry, why was the alpha going away?!
But at the same time the distance helped Jisung gaining some power over his body again, and now he actually understood what the alpha was saying.
“Hey, I’m sorry, I’m so so sorry, I did not mean to do that, I’m so sorry. Can you please stand up?”
Jisung’s face immediately flashed red out of embarassment. He scrambled to his feet and as he stood, he immediately bowed down ninety degrees and blurred out apologies: “I am so sorry, I did not mean to do that either, it is not your fault, I don’t know what happened, please don’t fire me.” Did this count as inappropriate workplace behaviour? Sure, he didn't have any control over it, but that was a weak excuse because he should have had more control over himself. Why didn't he have more control over himself? Oh god, this was so embarassing.
As he looked up, he saw Bang Chan bowing too, but not as deep as Jisung. His alpha instincts probably didn’t allow him to get deeper than the omega. Both of them stood up again and Chan looked confused.
“Fire you? I can’t fire anybody. Not that I would! Fire you, I mean. You didn’t do anything wrong, it was my fault, I shouldn’t have screamed at you, and it is your boss’s fault for hiding behind new interns and sending them to ask their dumb questions even tough I’ve told them times and times again that I am busy right now and …”

Jisung just looked at the alpha blankly and felt the pull of his omega to fall down as the alpha got angry again. As soon as Chan realized that, he stopped himself and took a deep breath. “But again, that is not your fault. What does your boss want?”
Jisung was sure that his face still looked like a tomato. He rubbed his neck and grimazed upon feeling the creamy texture of his scent blocker on his fingers. It was as if the universe screamed fuck you at him, this was a great start for his new job. Thankfully the cream was still fully on, he had put on enough for three days after all. He wiped the transparent cream on his pants (subtly he hoped) and looked up at Chan. When he saw the impatience in the man’s face, his nervousness rose again and looking into Chan’s eyes was a fight against his inner omega that just wanted to submit to the powerful and angry alpha in front of him.
“Ehm, I think that you would have to answer that then. My name is Han Jisung, I’m your new assistant.”
Chan’s eyes widened and his shocked face looked nearly comical. He facepalmed and Jisung smiled as he saw the embarassment on the alpha’s face. At least he wasn’t the only one making a fool out of himself today.
“Oh wow, I am an idiot. I am so sorry, Mr Han, please come in. I … You must have gotten a terrible first impression of me, but I swear I normally don’t scream around.” Chan led him into his office and Jisung had to take really shallow breaths because the office reaked off the alpha’s scent that he now realized consisted of apples, and he felt slightly dizzy again so he was really glad when Chan showed him a comfortable couch he could sit on. “The reason I screamed at you – and again, I shouldn’t have either way and I am really sorry -, is exactly why I need you so desperately. Do you want anything? Coffee? Water? Tea?”
“A tea woulld be nice, thank you Mr Bang.”

Jisung watched as Chan prepared the tea and only after a minute did he realize that the roles should be the other way around. He was being payed to get Chan whatever he wanted, the alpha shouldn’t serve him. But because his knees still felt a bit weak, he didn’t say anything and just waited for Chan to continue. Which he did, while the water started boiling.
“You can call me Chan, by the way. How old are you?”
“Thank you, Chan-ssi. I’m 22.”
“Then you can call me hyung. I’m 25.”
Jisung’s inner fanboy screamed at the top of his lungs and he couldn’t stop a smile from forming on his less red face. Chan brought him the tea (it was green tea) and Jisung stopped breathing for a moment because the other man’s smell really was divine and he shouldn’t loose control with a nearly boiling liquid in the cup in his hands. His omega purred because a suitable alpha brought it something, he clearly cared for him, he clearly wanted to mate him, it screamed at Jisung to purr at the alpha to show his contentment and shutting that inner voice up felt harder than it should be. He saw Chan smiling as he carefully blew on the tea and then sitting on the armchair on his right side.
“Jisung, right?” He nodded. “I am really sorry for how I answered the door, I didn’t mean to be this harsh and rude and I don’t know exactly what happened but I hope you recovered a bit?”
Jisung nodded again. “Thank you, Chan-hyung. I’m not sure what happened either, I think I got a bit overwhelmed, but I feel okay again.” That was only half true, Jisung still felt the effect of the alpha’s pheronomes and his inner omega’s sulking for not doing enough to show himself as a potential mate for the good-smelling alpha.
“Okay, good.” Chan clapped his hands together and smiled brightly. “Let’s start over, okay? My name is Bang Chan, as I said you can call me hyung and I need your help.”
Jisung giggled, the alpha was cute. He took a sip of his tea, then said: “Pleased to meet you, I’m Han Jisung, please call me Jisung and how can I help?”

Chan’s smile turned even bigger and Jisung felt himself mirror the alpha. Now that he was calmer and got used to the smell a bit (and now that the smell wasn’t filled with anger anymore), he could finally look at Chan and realized how breathtakingly beautiful the alpha was. He had obviously known that the producer was handsome, he had basically read all published articles about the man, as well as his wikipedia page after getting the job, but the pictures didn’t do him justice. A big nose centered the face and made everything around it just fit perfectly: The brown eyes that seemed to look into his soul under big but well-formed eyebrows and then his eyes found Chan’s mouth and Jisung’s tongue quickly wetted his own lips. They just looked so kissable! He wanted to devour them and feel them on him and wow, he should immediately stop that thought because he was already half-hard just with the image in his head and that wasn’t professional at all. He really couldn’t risk leaking slick in his work place on his boss’s couch. He could not fuck this up. Thank god for scent blockers because if Chan smelled arousal on him, he would be job- and homeless in no time. But no, the alpha seemed to be oblivious and smiled on.
“Well, it is your first day, so we won’t do anything difficult, and to be honest I don’t have much time today to show you around, because I really need to finish a single for a comeback. What I’d like you to do is to basically be my bouncer. Just stand in front of my door – or no, take this armchair with you so you’ll be comfortable, and take this notepad too – and stop anybody from entering. If they have a question or a request – they all do -, write it down and before you go to lunch, tell me the questions so I can answer them during your lunchbreak. After your break, I’d like you to be my bouncer again until you go and while nobody is bugging you, please send my answers to everybody who came asking through email. Does that sound okay?”
Jisung just nodded, that seemed fairly simple. He hoped he wouldn’t have to do this everyday because it seemed like a step in the wrong direction regarding his producing career, but right now he was glad he wouldn’t have to fight against his omega because of the alpha pheromones all morning. His omega still urged him to either bare his neck again or just jump the alpha and both wasn’t appropiate work place behaviour. He needed control again.

Chan carried the armchair out for him and put it directly infront of his door. With one last smile and wave he closed the door behind him and Jisung sat down in the chair, waiting for the first person that wanted to disturb Chan. He was nervous and he really didn’t like confrontation, but after twenty minutes he was so bored he couldn’t wait for somebody to talk to. And he didn’t have to wait much longer, soon he saw a short man rushing to him from the left.
“Who are you? I need to speak to Mr Bang, let me through.”
Jisung stood up and was pleased to see that he was now taller than the apparently balding man.
“I’m sorry, Mr Bang can’t be distracted right now, he is working. What did you want from him? I am Han Jisung, his new assistant and I’ll make sure he gets back to you as soon as possible.”
Jisung was proud of himself, that sounded really professional. But the man had a different opinion.
“I don’t care who you are and I won’t let you send me off like a cheap streetcat, step aside so I can talk to Mr Bang.”
“No.” Jisung looked the man directly in the eyes and even if he couldn’t smell him, he just knew the man was an alpha. Not that there weren’t plenty assholes that were omegas and betas, but this dude just had the vibe of an alpha thinking he was better. Especially as the guy now took a brief look at Jisung’s collar and sneered. Jisung smiled, he knew how to handle people like this. “Mr Bang is busy, he or I will get back to you as soon as possible, but he can’t be disturbed at the moment. Would you like to leave a question for him to answer or a request he could take?”
The alpha (probably) took a step closer which didn’t help his attempt to intimidate Jisung, because that just made him look even shorter. “I won’t be fobbed off by a new assistant, an omega on top of that. You will hear from my boss and be fired if you won’t let me through right now.”
Jisung didn’t hesitate. He knew they couldn’t fire him for this, so he just sat down again on the armchair and blocked the door even more by this. The man would have had to lift the armchair with him in it to the side to get into the office and honestly, Hisung doubted he had the muscles for that.“If you don’t want me to note your request or question, please leave.”

The alpha took a step nearer and even though he actually towered over Jisung right now, it still felt pathetic and not intimidating at all. Still, he was thankful that the man wore scent blockers, apparently he was sensitive today and he really couldn’t afford the same incident happening twice in the same morning. Especially because this alpha probably wouldn’t be as nice as Chan about it. Without a threatening scent Jisung felt the urge to smile at the ridiculousness but didn’t, he didn’t actually want to make an enemy, just do his job.
“I will and I will talk to my boss. You’ll see. Be ready to search for a new job.”
The man stormed off and Jisung sighed as he looked at his empty notepad. What a great start for his new job.

Chapter 3: Jisung's first workday #2

Summary:

Jisung meets Seungmin

Chapter Text

It was nearing lunch time and Jisung was exhausted. He had been sitting in front of Chan’s office for nearly four hours now and stopping people was not getting easier. Of course there had been the nice ones, that had immediately accepted that they weren’t allowed to enter and he planned to answer them first after he talked to Chan. This task was more exhausting than he had immagined, not even the “talking to the occasional asshole”-part, but moreso the boredom. There came enough people for Chan’s exasperation to be understandable, but there was still too much time where Jisung didn’t have anything to do. So he had started to write a new song and he liked the progress he made. It wasn’t a masterpiece, moreso a digestion of the incident with Chan earlier this morning. It wasn’t the first song Jisung had written about the helplessness omegas can feel when dealing with alphas, but it was the first time when the experience hadn’t been entirely negative. Jisung didn’t know how he should feel about that. He knew that he probably should just feel humiliated and weak, but he didn’t. Yes, his omega had taken control, but he had never felt unsafe in the situation and it was probably dumb, but he had had the feeling that Chan would never hurt him. That he would protect him, that he would take care of him and his omega.

The text he wrote on the second page of the notepad wasn’t perfect, after all he had been constantly disturbed by assistant’s and intern’s that complained that Chan didn’t answer their emails, but ultimately were just being send by their bosses so he couldn’t even be mad about the disruption. But he did like the lyrics and couldn’t wait to go home and record some of it. Jisung thought about the expensive equipment Chan surely had behind those doors he had to guard and how much better this new song would sound if he could record it here. He had seen the recording booth only briefly while talking with Chan earlier, it was at the back of his office with another door on the left side of it, maybe a toilet? Infront of the booth was a gigantic mixing table that Jisung wanted to get his hands on as much as on Chan and on the left side of the office was another table. It was not as big as the table in front of the mixing table that caged Chan's chair between the two desks. On the other side was the couch and the armchair that now was in the hallway and on that he had been sitting for way too long. This was a game Jisung had started playing after finishing the draft of the song: Trying to remember stuff. Wow, he felt like a medieval person, but his phone’s battery was nearly empty and he literally didn’t have ANYTHING ELSE TO DO! He was BORED.

Jisung looked at his watch and wondered when the right time for a lunch break was. The alpha woman he had met earlier had said that he could go to lunch with her, but now he didn’t know how to contact her or where she and her friends usually ate lunch. Plus, he was nervous about knocking on Chan’s door again. Chan should be a lot calmer now, after all Jisung had given him four hours of uniterrupted work time, but the incident from earlier was still present in his mind. And yes, he had never felt unsafe, but …
Okay, if he was honest, he was just nervous of how his omega would react to smelling the delicious alpha smell again. Just thinking about it made a shiver go down his spine in the best way possible. But however attracted he was to him, Chan was his boss and one of his idols and waaaaay out of his league, so this was dumb and could only end in him embarassing himself. Still, Jisung was getting really hungry and he had to get this over with.
Before he could stand up, he saw a young man coming up to him, so he sank back into his armchair for a short moment. Another one? Hopefully this one was nice and didn’t want to argue with him for fifteen minutes because his stomach was screaming at him to get some food into it. That thought was forgotten as the man came nearer and Jisung couldn’t look away from his face because it was so fucking handsome. How the fuck was it possible that in the two days he had been in this building he had met three of the most beautiful people he had ever seen? And this one was so cute, too. The way he walked reminded Jisung of an excited puppy and he couldn’t help but smile at him as he stood up. This wonderful man had such an energizing presence, Jisung really would have liked to jump up and down with him, even though there was no reason to do so.

“Hi! How can I help you? I’m Mr Bang’s new assistant and I will gladly communicate your questions or requests to him, he just can’t be disturbed right now.”
“Hi!” Jisung felt giddy when the other man smiled at him and he was kinda sad that he wore scent blockers because he would have loved to smell him. “I’m Seungmin, one of Chan’s pack mates. It’s so cool he finally found somebody that actually seems capable to hold back the hordes of people that disturb him so much. I just came to get him for his lunch break. He often works so much that he forgets it so I wanted to go out with him. Could you let me in, please?”

How can somebody feel disappointed and excited at the same time? Disappointed because both Chan and Seungmin weren’t single and yes, he knew that realistically he didn’t have a chance with either of these men looking like supermodels, but he still felt disappointed. He hadn’t known Chan was in a pack, it was never mentioned in his interviews, because the producer only talked about his music, nothing of his private life was ever revealed. And he wore a hoody today that masked his neck, so if he had a bite mark, it wasn’t visible. And maybe he was the pack alpha, then he wouldn’t even have mark. Seungmin wore a turtleneck, again no bite marks visible. He wondered what subgender Seungmin was, not that it mattered now, because he would never be the one to kiss and cherish him. 'Just because they’re in a pack, doesn’t mean you can’t be in one WITH them', his inner omega whispered, but Jisung still felt like they were completely out of his reach now. Yet he felt excited, because he simply was happy that two such nice and cute people had found each other, so he smiled brightly and nodded.

“It’s nice to meet you, Seungmin-ssi. It is time for my lunch break too and I have to give Chan-hyung my notes so he can answer them. I hope you don’t mind if I do that before he goes to eat with you.”
“No, no, of course not.”
They smiled at each other and Seungmin helped Jisung move the armchair to the side to make the door accessible once again. Seungmin didn’t even knock, he just threw the door open and yelled: “Hyung! I’m hungry! Time for food!”
Jisung giggled, how could he be so cute? He entered behind him and and looked at Chan’s surprised face as he saw his pack mate running up to him. He just barely catched the taller man when Seungmin jumped into his lap sideways.
“Hey baby, what are you doing here?”
Seungmin dramatically pressed his hand against Chan’s forehead: “Oh no, the old-man-sickness. Dementia on such a young, I mean old, mind. It’s tragic.”
Chan laughed, took Seungmin’s hand and pressed a gentle kiss on his knuckles. “You brat. Can’t you be nicer in front of company? How did it go, Jisung?”

Jisung had remained standing beside the door, holding it, because the new wave of alpha pheromones had disturbed his balance a bit. But it was already way better this time, maybe because they weren’t full of anger and seemed rather relaxed and content. Jisung’s omega purred with pride because he had been the one to guarantee that his alpha could work in peace. NOT HIS ALPHA. Jisung gulped and wow, he really needed to control his inner omega better, this was getting out of hand. Chan surely felt so happy because his pack mate was here, not only because Jisung had given him some peace. While shouting at his inner omega to fucking calm down, he stepped up to Chan’s desk and placed the notebook on it. He smiled at the two beautiful man in front of him. “It went really well. Some people said their bosses would come complain to you, so I hope they didn’t disturb you with phone calls or something.”
Chan took the notebook and he looked really pleased while he read through the requests. “I’ve switched it off since yesterday. You did a really good job, Jisung, thank you.”

Jisung and his inner omega both absorbed the praise and his omega actually started purring, but thankfully Jisung could control himself.
“I’m going to send you the answers per email, HR gave me your email adress earlier. Were you given a laptop?”
Chan had started caressing Seungmin’s back who looked up at Jisung like a happy puppy and both of them were really distracting.
“Ehm … no. No, I was just send up here with no further instructions.”
“Okay. I’ll call and get you a laptop for this afternoon on which you can send the emails out to the people that have been here today. You really did an amazing job, Jisung, it’s been too long since I’ve been able to work so long without any disturbance. Thank you, I made a lot of progress.”
Jisung felt his cheeks heat up and he bowed slightly as a response. “Thank you, I’m pleased to hear that. I’ll take my lunch break now, if you don’t need anything else.”
“Of course, of course. Have a nice lunch.”

Jisung thanked him and wished them both the same, then he walked out and closed the door behind him. Well, that first morning went better than expected, he could actually do this. Jisung had always been weak for praise, so Chan’s words had made him feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Chan’s words and his smell and his looks and Seungmin’s looks and especially how they looked together. Both of them were hot individually, but put them together and Jisung thought he had actually forgotten how to breath for a moment back there. He needed to get his mind off these breathtaking and good-smelling people. Now it was time to find Balam who could hopefully show him the cafeteria.

“He’s cute.”
Seungmin turned to look at Chan who pressed a kiss on his cheek and let his fingers wander lower on Seungmin’s back until he held his mate’s ass in his hand.
“You think so?”
Seungmin laughs. “Yes. And you think so too, old man, don’t try and fool me.”
“Noooo.” Chan laughed nervously and buried his face in Seungmin’s neck. He wanted to inhale his mate’s delicious lavender scent, that wasn’t as strong because of his beta subgender, but still managed to simultaniously calm him down and rile him up. He couldn't because of the scent blockers Seungmin wore at work which was understandable, he had to deal with a lot of people as an idol, but it frustrated his alpha. He pressed his lips onto the place where he knew his mating mark was located and from where he wished he could smell his mate. “You look so hot today. That turtleneck screams at me to try how many marks I can hide under it.”
Seungmin moaned quietly. “Not fair, you’re changing the subject.” Despite his complaint he pressed his ass harder on Chan’s crotch.
“I am? Didn’t even notice.”

He lifted Seungmin up and turned him around so they were now sitting face to face, Seungmin’s ass a delicious weight on him, his legs on either side of Chan’s hips. He grabbed his mate’s neck, concealed by the soft fabric, and brought their mouths together. “Seungmin, you wanna be a good boy and take that shirt off for me?”
Seungmin whimpered and deepened the kiss, moaning into Chan’s mouth. The alpha played with his beta’s mouth for a few moments, then he pulled him back by his neck to stop the kiss. The beta looked at him with hooded eyes and wetted his lips with his tongue. Chan smiled at his mate’s beauty. “Your shirt, sweetheart.”

Seungmin nodded and slowly removed the fabric to show his soft stomach, his small nipples and his neck with the three bite marks and then threw it on the floor. Chan looked at the marks, they were so beautiful. His own mark was the most prominent, he was the pack alpha, he had had the honours of the first bite. Then Changbin’s as the second oldest alpha and the second in command and the third bite was from their baby alpha Jeongin. It filled Chan with pride when he saw his pack mates wearing his bite that marked them as his and he couldn’t help the protective and possessive feeling he got when he saw the marks.
Seungmin was so hot. Chan trailed his fingers down the beta’s torso with a quick flick on the nipples and got a high-pitched whine from his mate. He grinned and carried on caressing the sensitive buds while he started kissing Seungmin’s shoulders and neck, slowly but surely giving his beta plenty of marks that Seungmin would feel for the rest of the day and remind him of his alpha. The beta couldn’t help the slow movement of his hips and he even purposefully pressed down rhythmically on Chan’s hardening dick until Chan grabbed his hips to hold him still.
“Don’t. I’m sorry baby, I know how big of a cockslut you are, but we don’t have time for that. I need to make sure you get some food down your throat, I know your schedule and you need the energy today. And if you’re a good boy and let me finish marking you up without distracting me too much, you’ll get something better down your throat tonight. What do you say, baby?”
Seungmin moaned again. “Yes, alpha. Please, alpha.”

Chan grinned and dived back to his task. He stopped ten minutes later with a beautiful and huge love bite high on Seungmin’s neck. It would be concealed by the turtleneck but both of them knew it was there and it would be there for days. Seungmin had been good, he hadn’t moved much and without adding much pressure. He was such a good boy and Chan whispered that in his ear. He smirked as he heard Seungmin moan again. “Beautiful. My handsome beta. It’s such a shame we have to cover you up again, but you’re right, it’s time for food now. And I have to answer to all the people that annoyed Jisung today.”
Seungmin slowly came back to his senses and smiled while he sank against his alpha’s chest, still shirtless. “Okay.”
“Good boy.”
Seungmin didn’t move and Chan kissed him on the cheek. “You wanna sit for another few minutes and then do all the annoying stuff?”
He felt Seungmin’s smile on his neck. “Yes, please.”
“That’s perfect, don’t wanna stop hugging you right now.”
“Good alpha.”
“And I think both of us have a small problem that needs to go away before we go outside, don’t we?”

Seungmin just laughed and hugged Chan even closer. The pair smiled, lazily kissed and cuddled for a few minutes and only stood up when both of them were ready to face reality again. Seungmin got dressed and Chan wrote an email to IT requesting a laptop for Jisung. Then they went to eat, stealing from each other’s plates in the restaurant on the seventeenth floor. They had called Changbin but SKZ’s CEO had a meeting so they just promised him to drive home together. Then they both returned to work, Seungmin as one of the most famous and talented singers of the company, and Chan as the top producer. He got back to his desk where Jisung’s laptop was lying on the notebook. He put the device aside and while going through Jisung’s neat list, he made his own list of answers on his laptop to later send to his new assistant – that he really found cute, Seungmin was right, but who wouldn’t find the beautiful and competent omega cute? When he saw the second page he had to do a double take. This didn’t look like the other dumb questions. What was that? It looked like lyrics. Chan immersed himself into the text and when he looked up again he saw Jisung standing in the doorway, clueless to what Chan had just been doing.

Chapter 4: Jisung's first workday #3

Chapter Text

Lunch was fun. Jisung had found Balam on his way to the elevator and she took him with her and two of her friends to the cafeteria on the sixteenth floor. They did gossip, but not in a mean way and Jisung was happy to find out what was going on in the company. Apparently there was a restaurant just one floor higher, but it was more expensive than the cafeteria and the food was basically the same, you just had more privacy, so only the higher ups went there. Balam and her friends, an alpha and a beta woman, said that some people purposefully ate up there to meet their CEO Seo Changbin, either to better their career or to seduce him and become a part of his pack, neither ever done successfully.

The next topic the women talked about was a rumour about a new producer making inappropriate comments towards omega singers and they wondered how long it would take for him to get fired because of the strict implementation of the company’s no-discrimination-policy. This was of a bigger interest to Jisung because a producer getting fired would mean an open position that he could possibly fill, maybe he could ask Chan about this. Or Ms Kim from HR, she had seemed nice. But they didn’t talk about the producer much longer and more about their own jobs. Balam herself was an assistant producer which meant she could actually work on her own tracks. Assistant producer and assistant to a producer, how big of a difference two syllables could make, Jisung thought to himself, disappointed that he couldn’t produce himself. Balam talked about some troubles she had with upcoming comebacks and Jisung talked about his own first workday that had gone smoother than expected.
He was glad he had met Balam, she and her friends seemed nice and they flirted a bit with him, something that always flattered his omega even if he wasn’t interested in any of them.

An hour later Jisung said goodbye to the nice women that had decided to stay in the cafeteria for coffee. He took the elevator down to Chan’s office on the fifth floor and while looking at his reflection in the mirror on the door, his mind wandered to the beautiful blonde omega from last week. He hadn’t seen him today and it had been a hopeless belief that he would, but he still had looked for him. Jisung felt kinda pathetic. How horny did he have to be to have three crushes at the same time? And all of them were mated, too! Thankfully not to each other, Jisung didn’t think his heart and dick could handle even the thought of all of them being together. Or being together, if you know what I mean *wink wink*. Jisung rolled his eyes, his inner omega was ridiculous and now it whispered: You don’t know if they aren’t one pack, maybe the beautiful blonde is Chan’s omega and now you can imagine all of them together, or even better, all of them around YOU.
Jisung sighed and slightly banged his head against the elevator’s wall. His inner omega was out of control and the problem was, he didn’t even really want to control it.

After the elevator came to a stop and Jisung went up to Chan’s door, he forced all horny thoughts deep down and allowed only professional thoughts about being the best bouncer possible. At least he tried to. He decided against knocking this time and just opened the door and wow, he should have mentally prepared for Chan’s smell, because it was soooo strong and, oh no, he smelled arousal. Chan’s aroused alpha pheromones. His eyes closed automatically and he took a deep breath out of instinct which was a huuuuge mistake, because his dick already hardened and now he immagined what Chan and Seungmin had done during their lunch break and how good they surely had looked together. His omega wanted to smell everything in the room until he found the place where the pair had fooled around and then scent it and mix Chan’s smell with his own and Jisung wished Seungmin hadn’t worn scent blockers so he could smell the beta’s arousal too, and no, bad omega, he had to get those images away from his brain. The effort of surpressing the effect the smell had on him made Jisung sweat slightly and it took a lot of force to open his eyes again and look at Chan decently normal.

And no! No no no! NOOOO! His notebook with his lyrics! In Chan’s hand! Jisung didn’t remember what he had written down, only the part about feeling protected, but why was he so dumb and horny today?! How could he have given his horny song to the person the horny song was about? Dumb, dumb omega.

Chan looked at him happily and got up, the notebook still in his hand. “Hey Jisung. How was your lunch break?”
As Chan came nearer, the smell of the lingering arousal became stronger and Jisung had to lean against the door frame because his knees were weak again. He didn’t know whether his face turned red or white, but something must have looked off, because Chan looked concerned. Now he stood directly in front of him and wow, he smelled like ripe apples and strong, good alpha.
“I am sorry if I shouldn’t have read your text, but it is lyrics, right? For a rap song even? They are soooo good! It’s such a shame that omega’s don’t write more often so honestly about their feelings and experiences and I’m so happy that you did and that you had such an amazing experience!”
Jisung should probably feel relieved that Chan didn’t realize the song was about him, but he couldn’t really concentrate right now. Chan was just so close and he smelled like sex and alpha and Jisung had to use all of his energy to not bare his neck to his boss. Again.
“I am really sorry if you considered your song private or unfinished or something, but I really loved it and I find it empowering and I wanted to ask if you would maybe consider letting me record it with and for you? We could work on it together!”

Chan looked so excited and he reached out and touched Jisung’s hand and oh no, Jisung felt slick. The praise, the proximity to Chan and his aroused smell and his soft touch and the suggestion of working with his boss, with his alpha (NOT HIS ALPHA, you dumb omega!) had provoked a trickle of slick running down his asscheeks. Jisung was mortified, he was sure he looked like a tomato by now. And Chan could smell it, he saw it on his face. Oh no. Oh no, no, no, no, no.
He snatched the notebook from Chan’s hand and ran out of the office, fleeing from the at least second big embarassment that day.

Chan was frozen. It took every ounce of willpower he possessed to remain standing and not chase the omega that had just ran away. His alpha roared, he wanted to run after Jisung, chase him, pin him down and get a taste of that delicious honey smell he had just experienced. His inner alpha fought against his mind, it wanted to run, to taste, to kiss, to claim the beautiful omega that had been nearly in grip. And oh, the smell of Jisung’s arousal still lingered in the air and it mixed so well with his own and wow, he was so hard right now. Delicious honey, there were few other smells that had this effect on him. Chan stumbled back. Oh god, those other smells belonged to his mates. What was he doing? He had six wonderful mates, he shouldn’t be thinking about Jisung this way, he shouldn’t be thinking about anyone this way, except his mates.

Chan slowly closed the door to his office, went back to his desk and sank down in his chair. Leaning forward, he buried his head in his hands, slowly gaining back control over his body. He was embarassed and ashamed and, worst of all, he still couldn’t shake all the arousal off that had hit him with a force he hadn’t experienced for quite some time now. Gosh, Jisung’s smell was still lingering in his office. Chan quickly opened the windows and then sank back into his chair. How could he do this to his mates? How could he betray their trust in him and how could he go home today knowing what he had done? He loved them more than his life and they were enough for him, they should be enough for him, how could he be so selfish? He felt miserable, he hadn’t felt this devastated for years, since before he had met Changbin and formed their pack. God, Changbin would be so disappointed, he was such a bad pack alpha.

Jisung sat on the closed toilet seat after cleaning himself up and stared at his phone. It was nearly out of battery but this was an emergency. “Please, pick up, pick up, come on Yuna.”
And then she was there, sitting on the sofa in her living room as far as he could see. “Hey Sungie, what’s up?”
Her smile vanished when she looked at him more closely and Jisung started to cry. “I fucked up.”
“What happened? No wait, I’m going to the bathroom for this, just one moment … okay, go.”
Jisung was glad that whoever from Yuna’s pack was around her wouldn’t hear his breakdown. He really wished he could be near his best friend, he needed a hug so badly right now.
“I got wet in front of my boss and he smelled it.”

Yuna’s eyes widened for a moment, before getting all business-like. That’s what he liked about her, that’s why he called her. He didn’t want comfort at the moment, he wanted solutions. And some comfort after that.
“What happened?”
Jisung already felt calmer, now that somebody else had taken control. “It started this morning when we met, he made me fall to my knees and …”
“What?! Who is that asshole? Bang Chan? I’m going to …”
“No! Noona, wait, not on purpose! Sorry, I worded that wrong.”
“You nearly gave me a heart attack!” But her look wasn’t accusatory and she looked at him to continue.
“Sorry. Anyways, Bang Chan was apparently disturbed a lot in the last days? Weeks? And when he opened the door this morning he was really stressed and well, he didn’t wear scent blockers, and it was a bit overwhelming for my omega, so it decided to submit and I don’t know why it happened! Nothing like this has ever happened to me, I don’t submit to alphas!”
“That is strange, you’re right. And you slicked up then?”
Jisung shaked his head. “No, no. The falling to my knees part happened this morning and it was a bit uncomfortable after that, but we both apologized and then I started to work for him basically as a bouncer, shielding Chan-hyung from all disturbances.”
Yuna nodded.

“Well, at lunchtime one of his mates arrived and during the break they probably had some fun in Chan’s office and when I came back, I could still smell Chan’s … arousal … and wow, this is really embarassing, but then he complimented me for song lyrics (that were about him!) and he said we could produce together and then he touched me and then it happened and I don’t think I can go back in there now.”
Jisung had been staring at his hand holding the phone during this rundown and when he looked back up at Yuna, she smiled. Then she giggled. Before he could complain about that wrong reaction, she held a hand up.
“I’m sorry, I’m so sorry Sungie, but getting wet because your producer crush Mr Bang Chan told you you could produce a song together, is such a you thing to happen.”
And then she LAUGHED. Jisung felt a smile forming, but still at least tried to look offended. “Yunaaaaa! It’s really embarassing! And the way he looked at me before I ran off, I really don’t think I can go back there.”
“Sweetie, I am really sure it isn’t as bad as you make it out to be right now. I don’t even think you have to apologize, sometimes embarassing shit like this happens and if Bang Chan isn’t an asshole, you should be fine.”
Jisung nodded, than shook his head. “Chan’s reaction is not the only thing I’m nervous about. My omega instincts have been crazy all day today. It wants to submit to Chan-hyung so bad, I really had to fight for control a couple of times. It just wants me to purr and to mark him with my smell and just now, it wanted him to chase after me. I’m kinda scared of how it will react when I go back in there. The office probably smells of both of us right now.”
Yuna looked confused. “But your heat is only in a month, right? When does your preheat start?”
“In three weeks at the earliest! And yes! That’s what I don’t get! I feel like I’m in preheat!”
“But it only happens with Bang Chan?”

“Well …” Jisung’s cheeks turned red. “I actually felt the same unreasonable attraction to two other people, too. One of them is Chan-hyung’s pack mate, Seungmin, and he wore scent blockers, so I shouldn’t have felt anything at all, but he made me feel things, Yuna! Feeling-things!”
“Oh no! Not feeling-things!” Yuna laughed. “And the third person?”
“That one doesn’t have anything to do with Chan or Seungmin. It’s the beautiful omega I told you about, the one from last week.”
“The one you went into raptures about? The elevator omega?”
“Yep. And I really don’t get my strong reactions, because all three of them are mated, and two of them to each other, and I shouldn’t feel this way!”
“Why not?”
“What do you mean?”
Yuna pensively stroked her chin. “Why shouldn’t you feel this way? You are single, unmated and uncourted and from what I’ve heard your omega feels that you’ve found some compatible mates.”
“But … no! And they don’t even belong to the same pack!”
“How do you know that?” Yuna laughed at his flabbergasted expression.
“Yuna, you haven’t seen them! It’s already crazy that two people that hot are in the same pack, but three of them? That’s impossible, the chances of that happening are …”
“Never zero.” Now she looked stern again and Jisung knew, he’d get one of her home truths now. “Listen Jisung, you wanna know what I think?” Jisung nodded. “Of course we can’t know for sure, but I actually DO think all three of them are in a pack together. And I think you are highly compatible to that pack or at least these three people of the pack. But normally, if your omega is this in tune, the whole pack is probably right for you. And I think you know that. And I think you’re just scared of what that means.”

“Noona!”
“No, I get why you are scared, and this doesn’t have to result in gigantic changes right away, but I don’t think this is a bad thing. It could be something beautiful.”
“But you don’t know that! What should I even do? I can’t go back in Chan’s office and just tell him: ‘Hey. My friend thinks I’m compatible to your pack. Can you start to court me so we can find out?'”
Yuna just looked at him and sighed. “What about you don’t do anything right now and we talk this through again when you come home? Just don’t dismiss a big opportunity in front of you.”
“Okay. Thanks. But what should I do about the whole aroused-smells-in-the-office-that-are-gonna-kill-me-or-worse-make-me-wet-again-situation?”
“I’m sure it won’t be a problem. Maybe Chan even thinks the same way you do right now and you can talk and laugh about it and maybe you’ll even be a courted omega when you come home tonight!”
Jisung laughed, he did not believe that for a second, but maybe the whole thing really wasn’t as serious as he had thought.
“Thank you, Yuna.”
“And make sure to immediately come to me when you get home, either to tell me everything about the courtship or we’ll work on a strategy to get you into one.”
“You’re ridiculous. But I will.”
“Good.”

Both of them held their fingers for a moment on the camera, something they always did before hanging up, like a small touch across town. Then Jisung got up again and went back to the office. He felt better now, he was so glad he had found Yuna, she was such a good friend. When he was in front of Chan’s door he tore the page with his lyrics out of the notebook, put it in his pockets and took a deep breath. Then he knocked, but didn’t wait for Chan to open the door, he wanted to avoid too much contact with the alpha. Chan was sitting in the chair at his mixing desk, his head in his hands looking away from him. He didn’t move and made no sign that he knew Jisung was in the office. The smells in the room were way weaker than before, probably because of the opened window, but that couldn’t be all and than it hit Jisung. He couldn’t smell Chan anymore. Of course some of the alpha’s smell still lingered in the room, this was his workplace after all, but he couldn’t smell him at the moment. He was wearings scent blockers! Every hope that Yuna had built up in Jisung crumbled immediately and the only thing that kept him from cyring was the wish to avoid further humiliation. Alpha doesn’t like our scent, his omega cried out, and this time Jisung knew he was right. Chan couldn’t even look at him and the alpha wanted to avoid the same incident happening again so bad, he protected himself by cutting his scent off from Jisung. Even though Jisung knew he had no right to Chan’s smell, he still felt like the man had taken something from him. It was a clear signal, as were his posture and how he ignored Jisung. He probably thought Jisung was a horny creep and pervert that couldn’t control his own body. This shouldn’t hurt Jisung as much as it did, but it did. Being rejected was one of his big fears and Yuna had risen his hopes so now he felt like he not only lost the respect of his boss, but also the prospect of a loveable pack. And he would probably never become a producer of SKZ, he’d probably get fired this afternoon. Chan hated him.

He walked up to the table and saw a laptop lying on the front of it, as far away from Chan as it possibly could be. He laid the notebook on the table, took the laptop instead and went outside to his chair again.
This afternoon was miserable. Answering all the questions per e-mail only took half an hour and there didn’t come much more people (only three) to distract him from his feelings. Shit, feelings sucked.

He was moping and writing sad verse after sad verse to console himself or listening to sad music which didn’t help. It was three o’clock when a familiar face came up to him. Finally, somebody to distract him. He smiled when Balam came nearer and gave him a cupcake.
“You didn’t have dessert today at lunch, so I thought I’d bring you some.” That was so nice of her, he had never had work friends before and now he only needed to keep the job to experience more stuff like this in the future.
“Thank you! How much was it?”
Balam laughed. “No, don’t worry, it’s on me, it’s a gift for you.”
“Oh, thank you.” Jisung smiled and took a smile bite while Balam was watching him.
“What are you doing today after work? Do you wanna go to the bar just a block from here? Their cocktails are delicious!”
Jisung smiled apologetically. “Oh sorry, I’d love to some other time, but I have plans with a friend of mine. But please say hello to your friends from me, it was so nice today at lunch with all of you.”
Balam nodded slowly. “I will.” Then she smiled again. “But then another time?”
“Of course!”
Balam nodded again, greeted him and went back to her own office. Jisung looked at the cupcake in his hand and hoped it had been a gift from a friend to a friend, and not from an alpha to an omega. He was sure Balam hadn’t meant anything by it, but he’d make sure to mention tomorrow at lunch that he was not interested in dating somebody. He finished eating the cupcake, then continued his boring and sad afternoon on like that.

When it was nearly five o’clock, he decided it was time to go home. The only thing he had done for the last two hours was to send some e-mails with questions he got to Chan for him to answer when he found time. This was both the easiest and the most boring job he had ever done. Besides an alpha boss with the best scent ever that now hated him because his omega was a horny ass bitch that he couldn’t control and his body was a traitor. He was half sure Chan would fire him as soon as he entered and if he didn’t, he’d probably get an e-mail when he got home to inform him of how he had to leave because of inappropriate workplace behaviour.
He knocked, opened the door slowly and felt a flow of cold air as he entered the office. The window was still open and Chan was still sitting at his mixing table, looking at his laptop, still not looking at him and not giving away whether he knew he had entered or not. Jisung didn’t exactly know what to do, so he just laid the laptop on the table and stood in front of the table. Well fuck it, he wanted to know whether he was fired or not now, he didn’t want to spend his evening worrying about that. Chan didn’t wear a headset, so he should hear him and Jisung asked: “Should I come tomorrow?”

The silence that followed roared in Jisung’s ears and he was ready to turn around and never come back, when Chan gave a slight nod. This was enough for Jisung and he didn’t want to risk the alpha changing his mind, so he just turned around and left the office and the company as fast as he could. On the way home he went from being angry at Yuna for the shitty advice to being happy to have at least a friend he could cry about this day about. This absolute shitshow of a first workday.

Hyunjin didn’t knock on Chan’s door, he never did. He was excited to see his alpha again, he had an exhausting day of photo shoots and a promotional video behind him and he wanted to go home. And he’d take Chan with him whether he wanted to or not because the alpha might think work could replace sleep, but it couldn’t and Hyunjin wanted cuddles from him.
He looked curiously at the armchair beside the door and then opened it. He immediately realized he wasn’t the only one needing cuddles today and Chan surely needed more looking at the situation in front of him. The office was freezing, the window wide open and Hyunjin immediately closed it before looking more carefully at his alpha. Chan wore a headset and didn’t react to Hyunjin entering and then the omega realized that he couldn’t smell his alpha! Chan only wore scent blockers when his rut was nearing, he hated how the cream felt on him, so this was worrying Hyunjin. What was even more worrying was his posture, he looked like he had the weight of the world on his shoulders and as Hyunjin crouched down beside him, he saw that Chan had been cyring.

“Oh baby.”
He took the headset off his mate’s head and when he laid it on the mixing table, he heard Chan breaking down beside him.
“Hyunjin! I’m so sorry.”
The omega climbed onto Chan’s lap and cradled his head in his hands. “What happened, hyung?”
Chan’s lips were trembling. “I didn’t mean to do it, to think it, I love all of you so much, I never wanted to hurt you, please don’t leave me.”
“We’d never leave you, hyung, you know that.” He pressed a kiss on Chan’s wet cheek. “Just wait a second, I’m going to call Changbin.”
“No, don’t go, please don’t leave me!”
Hyunjin’s heart broke a bit at the crestfallen voice of his mate. “I won’t, I never will, I’ll stay here and just call him on my phone, okay? He’s the only one left in the company, Seungmin’s already back home and Felix is at Minho’s today.”
Chan nodded and buried his face in Hyunjin’s neck, scenting him and releasing his pheromones for comfort. Hyunjin called and told Changbin to come down immediately, then wiped Chan’s scent blockers off and started to scent him. The pair carried on scenting each other, until the door opened and Changbin entered. Upon smelling the distressed smells, the alpha immediately postured and looked for a danger, only coming up to his mates when he didn’t find one.

“What’s going on?”
Chan, a lot calmer by now, looked up at his second in command and said: “I’m sorry.”
“For what?”
He breathed his mate’s smells in deeply and Hyunjin’s roses combined with Changbin’s lemon smell encouraged him to speak up: “I have a new assistant. He’s an omega.”
Chan felt Changbin’s hand in his, encouraging him to keep talking. “I don’t know why, but he leaked some slick earlier today – I swear I didn’t do anything! I just touched his hand because he didn’t respond to me and I wanted to make sure he was okay!”
Hyunjin and Changbin exchanged a look, but Chan couldn’t stop now.
“He leaked some slick and I don’t know what happened to me but my alpha wanted to chase him and claim him and I need you to know that I would never do something to hurt the pack! Please believe me!”

“Hyung.” Chan looked up at Changbin. “You didn’t hurt him, right?”
“No, of course not!”
Chan felt his alpha protest at the thought of hurting an omega, the thought alone repulsed him. How could Changbin, his packmate and his alpha suggest something like this?
“Good, then I don’t really get what the problem is.”
“But I nearly went feral! I wanted to chase him and … and do things to him!”
“But you didn’t.”
“But I should only feel about you guys this way!”

Hyunjin and Changbin exchanged a look again. The omega said: “Hyung, did you feel about him the same way you felt about us when you met us?”
“I …” Chan thought about that and Hyunjin scented him to help him organize his thoughts. “With Changbin, maybe? He was the only one I met without preparation, because when he brought you, Jeongin and Seungmin home, I was … prepared? For the attraction I’d feel? The same with Felix and Minho. But I should not feel attraction to Jisung, he is not in my pack like that and he is my subordindate, too. He probably thinks I’m a total creep.”
“Alpha, listen to me.” He looked down at Changbin, who had crouched down beside his chair. “When I met Hyunjin, I pressed him against the nearest wall and we nearly had sex in a random hallway in this building. When I met Seungmin it wasn’t the same, because he always wears scent blockers and I fell in love with him – as did you – before ever smelling him. And Jeongin wasn't presented yet, so again, different story.”
“Felix and I couldn’t control ourselves when we first met. You know about this. We had sex in the studio. Neither of us were wearing scent blockers and he was so sweaty I couldn’t resist him. What you felt today is nothing compared to me actually cheating on all of you. I did.”
“No no, sweetie, you know we’ve forgiven you long ago, and Felix is part of our pack, it’s not like you creeped on a random omega!”
“You don’t listen to us, hyung. All of us were random omegas at one point. Or alphas or betas, but you get what I mean. We think Jisung could become one of us, too. Right, hyung? That’s what this is.”
Hyunjin looked to Changbin and the alpha nodded. “Yes. Your reaction probably means that he’s compatible with you which hopefully means he’s compatible with all of us.”

Chan’s mind hurt a bit by that complete one-eighty he had just to undergo. “What does that mean?”
“It means we should talk with the rest of the pack about courting him”, Hyunjin said and Changbin nodded. “You are the only one that knows him right now, so the next step would be for us to meet him.”
Chan nodded and took a deep breath, absorbing his mate’s smells. “Okay. Thank you, I really didn’t know what to do. But … I really didn’t like losing control like that earlier. I … I don’t think I can keep working with him.”
Changbin nodded. “I can talk with HR and see that he’s being transferred to another assistant position.”
A thought stroke Chan. “Is the rumour about the alpha producer that harassed some singers true?”
Changbin’s face twisted in disgust. “Yes, don’t know how he got hired in the first place, he was fired from his last THREE jobs because of harassment issues and I had to fire somebody from HR too. Such a shitshow, never had to fire two people in one day before.” Hyunjin leaned down to scent and calm his other alpha too. “Why did you ask?”

Chan allowed himself a smile, a relief after crying all afternoon. “Well, HR said last week, when they called me about Jisung, that he was originally coming for the producer position, but that had already been filled, so he was hired as my assistant.”
Changbin smiled. “Did you listen to something from him?”
“His mixtape. HR sent it together with his personal info.”
“Is he good?”
Chan smiled brighter. “Extremely. And today, …” he became serious again, “… that’s why I touched his hand, I read some of the lyrics he wrote this morning and he didn’t react to my preposition of recording it together, and then I touched him and I shouldn’t have and later I was ignoring him and I’m sure he hates me now and …”
“Alpha.”
Hyunjin looked at him with those pretty and caring eyes, and led Chan’s head to his neck where he breathed in Hyunjin’s beautiful and calming rose scent. “It’s okay.”
“Thank you, baby.” He pressed a nose against Hyunjin’s scent gland. “Jisung’s extremely talented. And he writes great lyrics, too.”
“Good, I’ll let HR organize that then and they have to search for a new assistant for you now, right?”
“Jep.” Chan sighed. “Jisung was really good, nobody distrubed me all day, except Minnie of course.”
Hyunjin laughed. “I’m so excited about meeting him! I’m sure he’s great. Is he hot? Do you know his favorite dish? Oh, it’s been a while since we courted somebody, this is going to be fun!”

Chan could laugh now and he was so thankful to have packmates like these, so smart and considerate and he would never, ever do something to hurt them. But he still felt a bit insecure.
“Is it okay if I let you do the courting at the beginning, Jinnie? I feel really bad for how I’ve treated Jisung today and I’m still not feeling sure about my control over my alpha and I don’t want to scare him away.”
“I really don’t think that’s …”
“Of course, hyung. However you feel comfortable.”
Changbin interrupted Hyunjin and pressed a kiss on both of their heads. “Let’s start home, okay? Minho cooked today and I want cuddles after this stressful day.”
“Me too!”
Hyunjin jumped up and pulled Chan up with him. The alpha sighed. “Me too.”

Chapter 5: The courting offer

Chapter Text

Jisung looked up at Yuna holding his phone and reading the e-mail he had just gotten.
“What does that mean?”, he whispered.
Yuna raised a finger to tell him to wait, she wasn’t finished reading yet. Jisung nodded, took one of Yuna’s pillows from her bed, pressed it to his face and let out a shout, coming deep from his lungs. How was this day still not over? How did things still happen? Maybe he had been captured by aliens and now they made him live an endless day were humiliating and strange things just kept accumulating until he was ready to give up.
“What does that meeeaaaaan???”, he whined.

Yuna didn’t even look up from his phone. Jisung loved the other omega, but why wasn’t she freaking out with him? Immediately after work he had gone to her and her pack’s appartment, had fallen around his best friend’s neck and cried his heart out for about half an hour, before being able to talk about his day. He hadn’t known whether he should quit or not, because he absolutely NEEDED the job, but how could he continue working with Chan? Would he spend his workdays being ignored by his boss? By the one alpha he had ever felt serious attraction to? How could he force himself and his omega to endure a situation like that? Yes, Jisung needed the job, but Yuna had told him she supported him no matter what, even offered him to sleep at her pack’s place if he needed to. Jisung knew that wouldn’t work, at the latest when one of the pack had a rut or heat he would have to move out again. But after today Jisung didn’t think a career as a producer for SKZ would ever be possible, because how could it be? His one chance to start producing had offered to produce something with him which caused the most humiliating moment of his life and now Chan hated him and would never ever ask him about producing again, he was sure of that. Well, he had been sure of that. Then, two minutes ago, he had received an e-mail from the HR department of SKZ:

Dear Mr Han,
I’m happy to inform you that a position as a producer has become available and you were suggested to fill it. If you are interested, please answer this e-mail as fast as possible. I’m working late today, so if you answer me before seven o’clock I could prepare your paperwork for tomorrow morning and if you come to my office first thing in the morning, you’d be able to start working immediately. Even if your service for Mr Bang isn’t needed anymore, we’d still like to keep you as a part of the company.
Kind regards,
Ms Kim

To say Jisung was freaking out would be a huge understatement. “What. Does. It. Mean?!?!”
Yuna had to have read the e-mail three times now and when she looked up her brows were drawn together, but she showed a slight smile. “Well … you’re a producer now!”
“But Chan basically fired me! Even though he told me earlier that I could come back tomorrow!”
Jisung screamed into the pillow again, not even Yuna’s calming smell stopping his stressing. He would feel bad that he pestered her bedroom with his distressed scent if he could focuse on anything other than the e-mail right now.
“He didn’t fire you, they offered you a transfer, so answer her immediately, thank her and take the job.”
She pressed the phone into his hand, but Jisung read whinely: “Your service for Mr Bang isn’t needed anymore!” He gave the phone back to Yuna. “I told you he hates me, you have to believe me now! He wants to avoid me so much he is willing to get me a job as a producer just to not have to see me anymore! Or, more likely, so I wouldn’t get any more opportunities to creep at him!”
He raised the pillow again, but Yuna ripped it out of his grip and took his face in her hands, forcing him to look at her. “Shut up! You got this position because of your abilities, being a producer is your dream! Do you want to be an assistant or a producer?”

Jisung’s cheeks got squished between Yuna’s hands, so his voice sounded a bit squeezed: “A producer?”
“Now with more power?”
She let his face go and took his hands in hers.
“A producer.”
“Again. For what did you give up your family pack, move to Seoul and took the biggest risk of your life?”
“Being a producer!”
“That’s right!” She cheered and gave him the phone back again. “And what’s more important now: Being a producer or some dumb alpha you only met today?”
Jisung hesitated, thinking of how Chan had smiled before he had ruined everything. Yuna hit his arm.
“Why do you hesitate? It clearly is being a producer! Again, what is more important?”
“Ow!” He stroke his arm and then responded quietly. “Producing.”
“What?” She looked like a grandma with her hand in front of her ear like that and Jisung felt a weight falling from his heart when he shouted: “Producing!”
“That’s my Sungie. Now, are you gonna write Ms Kim back or do I have to do it for you?”
Jisung sighed. “I will do it.”
Yuna cheered again and kissed him on the cheek. Then she cuddled his side and watched him type.

Dear Ms Kim,
I would like to take the producer position. Thank you for considering me. Do you know why Mr Bang doesn’t …

“Stop, no! Delete that last sentence.”
“But …” Jisung looked at her pleadingly.
“No, trust me. Forget him for two seconds, this is just about you right now. Keep the first two sentences, add ‘Kind regards, Mr Han’ and send it.”
Jisung looked at his friend for a few seconds, nodded and did as she told him too. After he hit send, he threw the phone on the carpet (carefully). This time he didn’t take the pillow but rather leaned down and screamed into Yuna’s stomach. She giggled.
“Stop! Please! That tickles!”
Her laugh was contagious and Jisung needed it right now so he started to tickle her in earnest, ignoring her pleas and only stopping when she gasped for breath.
“You’re a menace.” She pulled him down into her arms and gave him a kiss onto his forehead. “Feeling better now?”
Jisung nodded, but then started crying again. “Nooo, baby.” She lead his face into her scent gland and encouraged him to start scenting her for comfort.

“He hates me!”
The cry was muffled by her neck, but the heartbreak in it was clear as day. Yuna stroked Jisung’s hair and hated the distress in the other omega’s voice. “He does, doesn’t he?”
Yuna’s silence streched for a bit and Jisung’s crying got louder and more desperate.
“I don’t know. I still believe what I told you this afternoon …”
Jisung jumped back. “How can you say that?! I’ve never felt more miserable, I don’t think an alpha that I’m super compatible with would make me feel this way! Why would he hurt me if he likes me?”
Yuna didn’t know what to say to that. She didn’t understand it either. Chan should have felt the connection like Jisung, why had he been such a dick then? The important thing was that Jisung had answered the mail and it was only six o’clock right now, so Ms Kim should still be working. He would start his dream job tomorrow and that was what he should be focusing on right now. She told him so and added:
“I don’t know why he acted that way, baby.”
Jisung whined again. “But …”
“No. Think what this opportunity would have meant to you just yesterday. Don’t throw your dreams away for an alpha. No alpha is worth that and if he’s worth it he wouldn’t ask it from you.”

Jisung wanted to protest again, his omega crying out for an alpha he would never call his own. He couldn’t think about anything exept Chan and how the alpha had rejected him and how he hated him and how he would never be Chan’s omega, something he had only dreamed about for five minutes this afternoon, but the loss still felt immense as he gave up on this fantasy. Chan would never love him, never bite him to make him his. He knew he needed to give him up and focuse on what was important and actually abtainable again, but it hurt to ban Chan from his mind. It hurt like shit to lose the prospect of a pack, but he couldn’t be hurt like this. He wouldn’t be hurt like this. If Chan didn’t want to see him, he would learn to live with that. He would get over this dumb crush, concentrate on his career and work on not becoming such an alpha-obsessed omega. He wasn’t like that and he didn’t wanna be. He was Han Jisung after all, producer of SKZ from tomorrow on. He was an independent omega and didn’t need any alpha or pack to be happy. He leaned into Yuna again and kissed her on the cheek. What would he do without her to drill some sense into him regularly?

Hyunjin had a plan. It was a wonderful fool-proof plan, because it was simple. It only had three components: Jisung, courting gifts and Jisung immediately accepting them and falling for the pack. Well, and himself, Seungmin and Felix. They were on the fifth floor of the SKZ building right now and searching Jisung’s new office. The evening the day before the pack had had their meeting about offering Jisung a courtship and after Chan had described the affect the omega had had on him, everyone was on board immediately. Well, except Chan. Hyunjin sighed. The alpha still felt guilty and didn’t want to pester Jisung, but he was out-voted by literally all other pack members so he had to give in. Thankfully he wasn’t one of the pack alphas that felt like they always had to have the last word and make all decisions for the pack, all of them were so greatful for the way Chan lead them, he was such a good alpha.

There had been a fight over who could go with Seungmin to Jisung. Seungmin clearly had to go, he was the only one (except Chan) that had met Jisung and who the omega hopefully would feel comfortable with. Hyunjin had shamelessly played the the-courting-was-my-idea-card and Felix was coming along solely because of his pleading-puppy-look no one of their pack (especially no alpha) could say no to. Jeongin had tried the same strategy and even though normally no one could resist their youngest mate's cute antics, the pack had to deny him his wish because he was still a baby alpha, sensitive about smells and not totally in control of his inner alpha. They would NOT risk scaring Jisung away and if even Chan had nearly lost his control, Jeongin had no chance, something the maknae had quickly accepted. Even the two omegas and the beta had decided to put on scent blockers, Chan didn’t want Jisung’s decision to be influenced by their smells which they accepted. Hyunjin still hoped that Jisung wasn’t wearing the scentblocking cream, he wanted to smell the delicious smell that had made Chan nearly go feral.

“Didn’t she say it was that way?”
Felix pointed to the left side of the long hallway they had just entered. The three mates had met an alpha woman after exiting the elevator and she had been so kind to explain them the way to Jisung’s office, while giving them a wary look. Apparently she knew the omega. Felix was glad Jisung had found some friends at work even after just one day, he had to be really charismatic. Felix was really excited to meet him.
“I think so, yes.” Seungmin nodded but they arrived at the end of the hall without finding the right office.
“Maybe his name isn’t on the door yet? He only started today”, Hyunjin said.
Seunmgin shook his head. “No, they normally put it on when they show you your office. I’ve seen it with one of my video directors.”
“Okay. Then try the other side?”

Felix and Seungmin nodded, Felix holding on to Minho’s food package carefully, Seungmin to the blanket and Hyunjin to the collar with their pack symbol. They had brought them as courting gifts. Minho had been cooking all morning and Felix and Hyunjin had gone shopping to find the softest blanket and the most perfect collar there was in Seoul. They wanted this to go well, they had to make a good first impression! All of them were quite nervous, but it was okay. If Jisung was right for them, it would surely click right away and everything would be perfect. Felix nodded to himself and reached for Hyunjin’s hand with his free one, holding it tightly.
“Why is this company so big?”
Seungmin and Felix snickered.
“I mean I’m happy Changbin is so successful – and Chan-hyung and you too, Seungmin -, but where is his office?”
Those three pack mates worked directly for SKZ, Hyunjin and Felix only occasionaly and other times they danced for Minho’s company. And Jeongin was still finding his path, fortunately the pack had the means to support their youngest with his studies and whatever unpaid internship he wanted to take.
Then they saw it.

Han Jisung

It was nearly the last door of the seemingly endless hall.
“Do you think he’s in there?”, Felix whispered.
“Why wouldn’t he be?”, Hyunjin whispered back.
“I don’t know.”
They clasped their hands together tightly.
“Let’s knock, okay?”, Seungmin said.
“Okay.”

But all three men kept standing still, nervous about making the first move. Then they looked at each other and laughed.
Seungmin was the one to first built up the courage and he knocked three times sharply.
The door was opened nearly immediately and they saw Jisung who was turned away from them, looking into the office.
“I’m sorry, you must be the trainees, I haven’t totally finished furnishing, but I’ll be …”
Then he looked at them and wow, Seungmin’s description hadn’t done him justice at all. He was so handsome and cute with his mouth hanging open like that. All three of them couldn’t take their eyes of the beautiful omega in front of them. Hyunjin just wanted to hug him and wipe the scent blockers off him so he would be able to experience Jisung’s scent, because the other omega wore the cream too.
“Seungmin-ssi.” Jisung bowed slightly, the three pack members mimicking him. “How can I help you? Are you looking for … Chan, or …?”
Felix noticed the slight voice crack when Jisung said Chan, but he smiled brightly while introducing himself.
“Hi! You must be Jisung. I’m Felix.”
Then he appreciated the sight before him again. Hyunjin also introduced himself.
“I’m Hyunjin.”
“I’m Jisung.”
Wow, his voice sounded really good, Seungmin wondered how it would sound moaning his name out. Stop it, he told his inner beta that became a bit agitated seeing the omega so close to him.

“Can we come in?”, he asked, thankful for the soft weight of the blanket that grounded him and reminded him of their task.
Jisung just looked at them and that probably would have been weird if they weren’t busy looking at the omega too. And Chan and Seungmin absolutely hadn’t described the omega enough, Felix thought, because Jisung was hooooot. Damn, he couldn’t wait to get his mouth on him. Thank god for the scent blockers or this encounter would have gotten out of hand quickly.
Hyunjin stared at Jisung’s mouth. He really couldn’t wait for the courting to begin, because he would kiss the fuck out of this man. The silence streched on for a few more seconds as all four of them observed each other, before Jisung quickly shook his head, then nodded.
“Of course. Seungmin-ssi, Hyunjin, Felix, please come in.” Hyunjin liked the way his name sounded coming from Jisung’s lips. He had a nice voice. And really kissable lips. Damn those lips, they really were distracting.

He stepped aside and as they entered the half-furnished office, they smiled. Jisung had already decorated the office with some personal belongings like a picture of him with a nice looking woman and a small plant on the window sill. Jisung looked sheepish as he gestured around. “I’m sorry, I don’t have anything to sit on except the chair right now, I’ve just been furnishing, but I’m sure that’s not to any interest to you. How can I help you? Seungmin-ssi?”
Seungmin smiled. “First of all, you don’t have to call me so formally, just Seungmin is fine. And we came to ask you something.”
“Thank you, Seungmin." He slightly smiled at them. Seungmin hadn’t felt this nervous for a long time and he could tell that his pack mates felt the same way. How should they approach this? He didn’t remember anything from the speech they had practiced, how should they start? Maybe they could …

“We want to court you!”
It was Felix that blurted it out and judging by Jisung’s shocked face, that may have not been the right strategy. His mouth opened and closed a few times, and Seungmin explained.
“Yes, we’d like to offer you our first courting gifts and ask you to consider us as a possible pack. We have a blanket for you”, Seungmin took a step to Jisung and the omega took the outstreched soft, green blanket out of instinct, “that symbolizes the warmth and comfort we want to give you. And we have some home-made food with which we want to show you that we are able and want to take care of you.”
Now Felix gave Jisung the food container, which the omega took.
“And lastly we brought you this collar that symbolizes the protection and the place among us the pack wants to offer you.”

It was Hyunjin’s turn and because Jisung’s hands were full he just laid the collar on top of the blanket. Jisung didn’t say anything and looked at the objects in his hands with apparent longing, but not looking as happy as they had hoped he would be. The silence streched again, but it was more tense than before and Seungmin feared what Jisung would answer them when he decided to talk.
“Do you accept our gifts and our courting offer?” Hyunjin asked cautiously.

The silence streched again and it felt terrible because they knew what Jisung would say even before he opened his mouth.
“I can’t.” Jisung gave the blanket, the collar and the container back to Felix and Seungmin, who only took them hesitantly. “I’m sorry.”
“Why?” Felix’s voice quivered and he embraced the container like a baby, clearly needing something to hold on to. Hyunjin and Seungmin didn’t understand Jisung’s reaction either.
“Is it because of Chan-hyung?”, Hyunjin asked. “He told us about yesterday …” A look of horror crossed Jisung’s face. “… and you need to know that he wasn’t really himself. He ist such a good pack alpha, you two only need to meet for a fresh second time.”
Jisung laughed silently and the sound made a shiver go down Felix’s spine. The omega sounded hopeless and sad.
“I don’t think that’s possible. I am really sorry, but I don’t think I am a good attribution to your pack. I feel honored, but please accept my decision.”
“But …” Felix sounded like he was about to cry now and Seungmin put a hand on his shoulder.
“Okay. We are sorry for the disturbance. Let’s go.”
He bowed to Jisung and led his mates out of the room. At the door he looked back at Jisung and nodded. “Good bye, Jisungie.”
“Goodbye, Seungminnie.”

The pain in Jisung’s voice nearly made Felix ignore everything Jisung had just said, run back in there and embrace the other omega. But he let Seungmin close the door behind them and only after it was closed, did he hug his pack mates tightly.
“Why? I don’t understand why”, Felix said, his lips quivering and leaning into Hyunjin’s neck, where he tried to find the familiar rose smell and failed because of the scent blockers.
“Have we done something wrong?”, Hyunjin asked.
“No, we’ve done exactly as the tradition wants.” Hyunjin felt Seungmin stroke down his neck and he was grateful for his beta’s support. He really wished now that they had ignored Chan’s wish, because not being able to smell his mates in a stressing situation like this was pure torture.
“What should we do now?”, Felix asked.
“We need another pack meeting tonight.” Seungmin told them. “I think you two felt the immediate attraction now too?” The omegas nodded. Felix whispered: “I hate scent blockers, I wanted to smell him.”
Seungmin nodded. “Me too. Meeting him today made my attraction to him even stronger than it was yesterday. He belongs with us and we need to both respect his decision and inform him about how it was the absolutely worst thing he has ever done. So, pack meeting.”
“Chan-hyung will say that we shouldn’t bother him after he said no.”
“Then Chan will say so tonight. And we will say what we think. This decision is one for all of us.”

Jisung leaned against the door, holding his shaking hands in front of his face. It had to have been the right decision, why did he feel like his heart was breaking again? He sank down onto the floor, holding onto his knees. He had done the right thing, he knew he did. But it had been soooo hard. Seeing them in front of him, looking like angels and looking at him like they actually meant what they said, saying no to them felt like the hardest thing he had ever done. It felt worse than moving to Seoul all alone.

And Yuna had been right, the blonde omega from the elevator belonged to Chan’s and Seungmin’s pack, and not only were those three the most beautiful people he had ever seen, the other omega – Felix – that was with them was another person so handsome he hadn’t thought it was possible. And how fucking hot was Felix’s voice? His omega had just wanted to jump and scent them and it had been very hard controlling it, because it had hated how the three men had looked after he had rejected them. His omega just wanted to comfort them and take their scent blockers off because not being able to smell them had seemed like the worst thing to ever happen. Well, taking the second place after rejecting their courting offer. Shit, if Chan didn’t hate him, they would be his dream pack mates. But they probably hated him too, now.

Today could have been the best day of his life, becoming a producer and starting a courtship with a great pack, but no. At least he could start producing soon, he was expecting some trainees to record a single they would put out to test the waters. He really should finish furnishing the office (the plant Balam had gifted him was really cute and he was so thankful for his work friend) and getting used to his mixing table but he needed another minute.

He had thought seeing Chan this morning would be the hardest thing he had to endure today, but no, this was even worse. And maybe he could have believed what Hyunjin had said about Chan, but the alpha hadn't even been able to look into his eyes when he had walked by his office today. And Mr Bang doesn’t need his service anymore his ass, he only could have looked into the alpha’s office because of the same man he had met yesterday standing in front of him and bombarding him with questions. It was the one that had come first and had threatened to talk to his boss about Jisung. Chan had looked miserable about the man bothering him for about half a second before he had noticed Jisung and looked away. At least Jisung didn’t have to worry about that irritating man anymore, he was a producer himself now. And he would pour everything he had into this job, proving all of them wrong and showing what he could do. Producer Han would show them. He stood up and started working.

Chapter Text

The last week had been both the best and the worst week of his life. No, not his worst, some weeks, months and even years that he had spent with his home pack before moving to Seoul had been worse, but that didn’t mean his omega wasn’t either sulking or crying whenever he had time to think. He hadn’t heard anything from Chan’s pack and he knew he should be thankful that they respected his decision and all that, but his inner omega still felt like they should have done more and asked him a second time and chased him down and all that bullshit that Jisung knew would never happen. They had probably understood that he wouldn’t be a good match for them and were by now really relieved that he had rejected their offer or else they would have had to revoke their courting when they realized that an omega their pack alpha doesn’t like couldn’t fit in with them. He was a bit concerned that Chan’s pack mates operated behind their alpha’s back but it wasn’t his pack so it shouldn’t bother him. This morning he had finally won over his sentimental omega and managed to throw the rose away that he had bought on his first workday. It had been torture being reminded of the beautiful blonde omega everyday, but his omega had refused to part from the scent.

To distract himself from all these thoughts he had poured his everything into work. He had worked with the trainee group that had come to him last week and seeing their potential he had helped them produce four different tracks. It was a girl group and all of them were so fucking talented it was insane. He especially liked their youngest, a young omega who rapped and was one of the dancers, because she always tried to give her imput on the songs and even suggested some really good lyric changes to make the songs fit better to the group’s personalities.

The group would debut in six weeks and all of the girls were really stressed out, so Jisung had to help calm them down a lot and validate them and their work and their talents. He knew it was selfish but he was glad they were stressed so he had to force himself to be calm for their benefit, because like this he couldn’t stress out about his own life too much. Well, at least until he got home after work. Of course he had Yuna and she distracted him a lot, but as soon as he laid in his own bed and tried to sleep, thoughts about staying alone forever and no one being able to love him penitrated his head. He was glad when he could sleep at least two hours a night. And he was already scared of tonight. He had forced Yuna to go on a date with her pack because she really shouldn’t have to babysit him every evening, but he was scared about being alone with his thoughts all night long. Well, it probably meant another night of binge watching some drama series.

It sucked. He just wanted to move on, but his inner omega didn’t let him and he knew he should be considerate of his own desires and feelings, but he just wanted the hurt to end.

He was coming back from lunch with Balam and one of her friends. They hadn’t gone to the cafeteria this time and rather ate in a restaurant outside the company, just on the other side of the street, to celebrate his first full week as a producer. He had kinda sensed a bit of jealousy from Balam and it was understandable, after all she was an assistant producer, a step on the career ladder he had been able to skip. But she had quickly come over it and Jisung was glad about that because he had become especially close friends with Jungie, Balam’s alpha friend. She was so much fun and always when Balam tried to flirt with him, he could exchange a look with her and had to try to not laugh at her eye roll. He had tried to tell Balam subtly that he wasn’t interested but she didn’t seem to catch on and it wasn’t like she was pushy or something, but he didn’t wanna lead her on. Not that he DID anything to make her think he was interested, he just didn’t know how to say it in a way that wouldn’t make him loose his new work friends. Maybe he just had to wait until she actually asked him out to tell her how he felt, but he for sure would keep on looking for opportunities to subtly tell her off. His omega just wasn’t feeling any attraction to her.

Anyway, the food had been really good and now they were on the way back to work. Jisung was talking with Jungie while crossing the street. She was a make-up-artist and had been assigned to his girl group to do the make-up for their debut so she was curious on how they were doing. Jisung gladly talked about them and was laughing about a make-up mishap Jungie had had when she had just started and how the singer she had made up was still a bit pissed at her, when suddenly Jungie’s face twisted to shock and he felt a sharp tug at the front of his shirt and was thrown against a solid something. He heard a rip and suddenly his chest felt really exposed but when Jisung tried to look down his view was obscured by somebody’s hand and he felt an arm holding him close. Close to somebody’s really muscular and well-defined chest. Behind him he heard a too-late warning shout and the man infront of him turned in the direction of the shout and looked like he would kill the bicylist that was currently riding away, looking apologetically over his shoulder and holding up a hand as an apology.

Only now did Jisung realize that the muscular somebody in front of him had apparently just saved his life. He looked into the eyes of his saviour – they were conveniently the same height – and was taken by surprise by his omega’s reaction. It made him relax and sink against the chest, he felt safe and couldn’t bring himself to move and he didn’t even feel bad about that because the man tightened his grip and pulled him even closer to him. He breathed in, trying to smell his saviour and what was that scent?! It didn’t come from the man he was currently pressed against, he unfortunately wore scent blockers and he could only get a slight smell of lemon scented alpha pheromones from his clothes, but there was a way stronger smell that distracted him. Mmmh, chocolate. Jisung looked to the side and saw the cutest alpha he had ever seen, he was just adorable, even if he looked quite startled right now. Jisung wetted his lips subconsciously and couldn’t help himself, he sank even deeper into his current embrace and just enjoyed the view of the two handsome men.
Ha! A thought stroke him: So he was able to feel attraction to men outside of Chan’s pack! This really was a relief.

“Are you okay?”
The man in whose arms Jisung was still lying looked at him worried. “I hate reckless people like that! He should have been more careful, you could have broken something or fallen in front of a car or gotten a concussion or …”
Jisung smiled, it was cute how protective the alpha was. Cute and really fucking hot. He looked to the alpha beside them, smiled at him and awwww, how fucking cute and hot was he too please? His omega hadn’t stopped purring, being surrounded by strong and protective men like that. It shouted to never ever let these men go away again. Jisung really needed to get a hold of himself, he suddenly became aware of Balam and Jungie behind him. And then another thought stroke him. This could be a huge opportunity. He could distract his omega from Chan’s rejection and make Balam understand that he wasn’t interested at all in her. He looked up at the men, repressed all thoughts of possible consequences and blurted out: “Do you want to go out with me? Both of you?”
“Jisung-ah!”, Jungie whisper-called from behind and she sounded so surprised and a bit shocked, but he didn’t look back, he couldn’t take his eyes off the beauties before him.
“Jisung?”
The man that had catched him looked surprised and exchanged a look with his pack mate. At least they looked like they were pack mates.
“Yes.” There was no backing down now. His omega wanted them and he really, really needed something to distract him from the drama with Chan’s pack. “What are your names?”
The cute alpha bowed slightly. “Jeongin, pleased to meet you.”

The man that had catched him still held onto him and Jisung just enjoyed it. He knew they probably looked strange holding on to each other like that, but his omega was literally purring right now and he needed to control the urge to dive for the man’s neck. He wanted to scent him, even if he knew that his saviour wore scent blockers. But the alpha beside him didn’t and it was probably better that he was holding on to something, because that alpha smelled deliciously. How could an alpha have this sweet of a scent? He just wanted to bask in it, to scent him, to lick him until the only thing he smelled would be chocolate and alpha.
“I’m Changbin. And yes, a date sounds nice.”

He looked back at the alpha he was face-to-face to and his omega really was sad that he couldn’t smell him and screamed at him to wipe the alpha’s scent blockers off, but fortunately Jisung still had some resemblance of control. He felt a slight tuck at the back of his shirt, which he ignored, but it made him aware that his shirt wasn’t really a shirt anymore, moreso a shredded piece of clothing that was neither covering him up nor shielding him from the cold streets. This wasn’t a problem at the moment, but he had to go back to work and he left his jacket in his office today. The alpha that still helt him tightly seemed to sense his discomfort and let go of him – which made Jisung’s inner omega scream out – to shrug his own jacket off and wrap Jisung up in it – which calmed his omega down again, the alpha was clearly marking him, he had chosen him, he was now MARKED. After an entire week of fighting against his omega, Jisung didn’t have the energy to argue anymore and didn’t want to disturb his happiness, so he just embraced the situation.

“Do you have time tomorrow evening?”
“Yes.” Changbin nodded. “Let’s meet here at 7 o’clock?”
“Sounds perfect.”
Reality slowly catched up to him and he remembered Balam and Jungie standing behind him. He took a step back (against his omega’s wishes) and just beamed up at Changbin and Jeongin. “See you tomorrow?”
“See you tomorrow, Jinsung-ah.”

Now that he wasn’t in Changbin’s hold anymore, he was dragged into the company by Balam and her friends.
“Jisung!”, Balam exclaimed.
“What?” He laughed. He knew that this had been a bit strange and sudden right now, but judging by Balam’s face, she had gotten the clue. She looked a bit pissed but he couldn’t care less, he had just scored a date with two of the cutest and hottest and best smelling alphas he had ever met! His omega sent him a picture of Chan but he ignored it, he had people to look forward to that didn’t hate him and didn’t have anything to do with Chan’s pack. It was perfect.
“Where do you take the courage to ask our CEO out?”
What? Jisung’s mouth fell open. “What?”
“Seo Changbin. Our fucking CEO. The one that catched you? The one you JUST ASKED OUT?”
“That was our CEO?”, Jisung shout-whispered.
“Yes!” Jungie didn’t even try to whisper. “And you have a date tomorrow! Do you know what you’ll wear? Oh my god, you have to show off your neck a bit. I can’t believe this just happened! He for sure doesn’t know you work for the company, he has rejected every employee that has tried anything. And you fell into his arms! Awww, that was such a meet-cute, I love it! And the JACKET! You have to tell me EVERYTHING the day after tomorrow at lunch. Promise me! And how cute was the alpha beside Changbin? He looked so young, I just wanted to cuddle him, he was sooo cute. I’ve never seen anyone from Changbin’s pack. Oh, this is so exciting!”

Balam asked: “Are you sure you wanna do this, Jisung? Don’t you think it’s a bad idea going on a date with your boss?”
He may have answered differently if Jungie had asked him, but Balam was the one that hadn’t stopped flirting with him, so he just shrugged his shoulders and asked: “What can happen?”

“He did what?!”
The entire pack looked at Changbin as if he had grown a second row of teeth. The alpha giggled and made a happy dance on the spot. “He asked us out!”
Jeongin blushed, nodded and grinned like he had just won the lottery. Which he kinda had.
“But why?”
Changbin couldn’t be offended by Minho’s question. “Because of our incredible charm and good looks of course.”
Hyunjin looked sad: “But why did he say yes to you and no to us? Did he not like us last week?”
Minho took the omega’s hands in his and started to slowly caress his fingers to stop the distressed scent that had started to come from him. Changbin came to sit on the couch beside them and it was Jeongin that answered: “He doesn’t know we’re part of this pack. Maybe he just doesn’t wanna be in a pack?” He shrugged his shoulders and played with the ring he wore that bore the pack symbol.

“But how would that even work? Casually dating people in a pack? Can that work?” Hyunjin’s smell turned even more sour.
Changbin: “I couldn’t do that.”
“Me neither.” Jeongin shook his head. “Especially not with Jisung. I’ve already felt a strong pull to protect him today ... and to do other things, but not in a ... casual way.”
They looked at Minho who was still working on calming their omega. “Yeah no, that doesn’t work. Before meeting you guys I once started dating somebody from a pack – they had a really loose pack bond – but it ended in me nearly being put in a hospital by an overprotective alpha.”
“What? Who did it?”

Changbin sat up straight and looked at Minho sternly. The beta stroked down Changbin’s back and kissed his cheek. “Don’t worry, alpha. He doesn’t matter.” Then he went to lightly scent his mate, wrinkling his nose when he was met with scent blockers. “But casually dating Jisung especially won’t work. With the high compatibility thing we’d just hurt each other because we can’t not develop feelings.”
“What if he can? Not develop feelings I mean.”
All of them looked at Hyunjin, not knowing what to say to that horrifying possibility.
“Should we cancel the date?”, Changbin asked. Jeongin let out a protesting growl. His alpha was not happy about that suggestion.
“No!” Hyunjin violently shook his head.
Minho kissed his knuckles and said: “I mean, we could use this. I know hyung wants to wait and give Jisung time and some shit, but he DOES feel attraction to us too. This proves it, I don’t think an omega would just ask two random alphas out.”
“Hey! Omegas can absolutely ask alphas out! I asked you out.”

“You know that’s not what I meant.” Minho started to grin. “And you really wanna take that as an example? You thirsted after me for two months and only asked me out because I caught you and Felix having sex in one of the training rooms and you moaned my name out when you saw me.”
He winked at his mate and Hyunjin buried his face in Minho’s shoulder. “Pff, like you didn’t pine after me too.”
“Of course I did, I had to be really careful to not pop a boner while giving dancing lessons with you or Felix in the room.”

They looked at each other like they were ready to rip their clothes off right here and now. And not that Jeongin would have anything against that but they kinda had to finish their conversation.
“Guys?”
“Yeah sorry.” Minho started to play with Hyunjin’s fingers again. “What i wanted to say is that this shows Jisung’s attraction to us and that we should take the chance and you two should go on the date and woo him a bit.”
“Yeah, it would be really dumb to not use this opportunity.” Changbin nodded. “But we absolutely should wear scent blockers. Chan is right, the last thing we want is for him to feel manipulated.”
Hyunjin shook his head. “I really don’t get that! Our scents are a part of us! How is that manipulation? They just show us who we’re compatible with.”
“I think Chan is still a bit traumatized by the incident. Let’s respect his wish for now, okay?”

Hyunjin looked like he wanted to protest again, but Jeongin piped up, sounding really insecure: “What if we fuck it up?”
His hyungs looked at him and Hyunjin shook his head: “How could anybody not love you immediately?”
“But what if we’re the reason he really doesn’t wanna be with the pack anymore?”
Minho said: “He already doesn’t wanna be with the pack, we have nothing to lose.”
Changbin stood up again and kissed his youngest mate softly. “We should just try to enjoy the date. If he doesnt like us he isn’t right for the pack either.”
Jeongin nodded. „Okay.“ And there was his cute smile again.

Hyunjin giggled. „Serious stuff aside, I’m jealous. I wanna go on a date with him too!”
Minho kissed his knuckles again. “What about you and I go on a date tomorrow, then?”
Hyunjin smiled.
“Or am I not good enough for you anymore?”
Minho mocked an offended gasp and made Hyunjin laugh. Then he leaned over and whispered into the omega’s ear. “Or … hmm ... Does our omega need a little reminder of who his pack mates are?”
All three smelled the slick instantly. Jeongin’s eyes glazed over red and he slowly started approaching his mates. Changbin stood still but looking at his two alphas towering over him and the hunger in their eyes, the view made Hyunjin leak even more slick and his breathing speed up.
Minho wasn’t finished: “Do you see our baby alpha? How strong he got? I think he wants to demonstrate you where you belong.”
Jeongin’s eyes had became even redder and he opened his mouth to a slight growl. Hyunjin’s eyes glazed over and he instinctively bared his neck.
Minho whispered: “Run, omega.”

Hyunjin darted away breathlessly, Jeongin chased immediately after him and Minho asked Changbin: “You wanna join, too?”
Changbin approached the couch, leaning down to kiss Minho. “You’re such a good beta, making sure the pack does what we need. I’m going back to the company, I have to talk with Chan about tomorrow and he’ll probably need a bit of convincing that we’re not doing something bad. But I’ll get him to reason.”
“You need help?”
Changbin kissed his beta again, this time deeper and he slowly gripped his neck and bend his head back to kiss Minho’s neck.
“No.” He slowly unbottened Minho’s shirt and caressed his nice dancer’s body. “You go, have fun.”
Another kiss, than he let the beta go. Minho looked slightly out of it, but he quickly said goodbye to Changbin and darted after his mates. The alpha looked after him lovingly and that went to talk to Chan.

Jisung closed the door to his appartment after an exhausting afternoon. He had been allowed to work with a debuted singer for the first time and yes, his voice had been magnificent, but his ATTITUDE, my god, it had been exhausting. And Balam had stopped flirting with him for which he was really greatful, but at the same time she still seemed a bit pissed and he didn’t know how to deal with that.
Nevertheless, his omega felt at ease today. It was the first time in a week that he didn't feel like crying first thing coming home. He was still wearing Changbin's jacket, his omega refusing to take the delicious smelling cloth off. He buried his face in it and inhaled the smell like he had done multiple times at work today, it was like an instantaneous relaxer. Everytime the beta singer had tried to correct or critizise him (and Jisung feared he had done it because of his subgender), he just took a deep breath of the delicious combination of scents in the jacket and he immediately calmed down. Because the jacket didn’t just smell like lemons like he had initially thought, after smelling it A LOT and deeply, he had found another smell in there: a beta lavender smell and it was delicious. He took another deep breath, then kicked off his shoes and went to his room. He took the jacket off and let his omega take control as he placed it in the middle of his nest, draping it over his main sleeping pillow.
He just wanted to relax and do nothing this evening. Yuna was on a group date with her pack and Jisung wanted to enjoy the tranquility he felt. The prospect of the date the next day had really put his omega at ease. Well, as much as someone could be at ease while simultaneously being really, really horny.
He removed his clothes and let them just fall on the bedroom floor, not bothering with pyjamas, he just wanted to cuddle into his nest. And spend some time with the jacket, his omega whispered, and Jisung giggled. He wouldnt lie, he knew what that jacket would do to him. He already was half hard and had had to fight off inappropriate thoughts all day long because he hadn’t wanted to pop a boner during work but now he was alone and had all the time in the world.
He took his time, put on some music, put a towel on the bed and cleaned his favorite knotting dildo before sinking into his nest. He put the jacket over his face, taking a huge sniff of the smell and immediately feeling his dick harden, now that he didn’t have to hold himself back anymore. The combined smells of Changbin and his pack mate riled him up more and more, he couldn’t help himself. And he didn’t want to either. Some embarassment flooded him as he remembered his shameless behaviour today, he had never done something like that before and how lucky was he please? Those two hot and cute men had said yes! If they hadn’t, it probably would have been the most embarassing thing that had ever happened to him, but they had said YES! And considering the looks the alphas had given him, they had seemed excited for the date too, so he felt proud. They had said yes!
Jisung's giggle turned into a moan as he breathed the delicious smells in again. He took the dildo (it was purple and of a medium size that doubled when the knotting function was activated). He loved this one for lazy sessions like today, for his heat it wouldn’t be enough but he had different toys that met his needs for that week. He slowly moved the toy upwards from his stomach, massaging his nipples for a moment, then pulling the jacket from his mouth, letting it rest over his nose and the rest of his face, obscuring his view. He gently moved the toy to his mouth and, having the cute alpha in his mind, relaxed his mouth and caressed the toy with his tongue. What would it take to make Jeongin, such a gentle looking alpha, lose his composure and use Jisung’s mouth however he wanted? Jisung wanted to find out, but until he did, the dildo would have to suffice. Mmmh, he wanted that chocolate smell all over his body. Pushing the toy a few more times in and out of his mouth, becoming harder and wetter with each push, he then took the dildo, that was soaking wet now, and moved it down his body again, leaving a slight wet trail. He took his dick that had been neglected until now in one hand and moaned immediately. He knew he wouldn’t last long today with the delicious smells so near and with how horny he'd been all day after meeting Changbin and Jeongin, but he held the base of his dick tightly to fight the orgasm off for now, he wanted to use his toy at least a bit.

When he felt a bit calmer again, he bent one of his legs up to guarantee better access and slowly inserted the toy, biting into the jacket that had fallen over his entire face again and immagining the dildo to be Changbin. Being able to taste the smell as well as the toy immediately hitting his prostate made Jisung cry out as his first orgasm hit him and made a gush of slick come out of his hole. But he didn’t feel satisfied yet, and he started to push the dildo in and out as deep as he could (which wasn’t deep enough for his omega, that just wanted to be filled up with Jeongin’s and Changbin’s alpha cocks) and as he felt another orgasm approach he activated the knotting function of the dildo. When he felt it pressing against his prostate, growing bigger and bigger until he saw stars, his mouth and nose still full of Changbin’s and the beta’s smells, an image of Chan appeared before his eyes for a second and then he came and didn’t see anything anymore. He felt weightless, lying in his bed like a corpse and he forgot how to have cohesive thoughts for a few seconds.

“Fuck …”

Jisung smiled and enjoyed the feeling of being full, the dildo still filling him up nicely and letting him ride the post-orgasm high.
He couldn’t wait for tomorrow to arrive. He was so excited to see the alphas again. And he was sure he’d actually be able to sleep tonight. After at least one other round, of course, neither Jisung nor his omega felt satisfied yet. Not that anything other than an actual alpha dick could satisfy his omega and if the date went well, maybe he didn't have to wait too long for it. That thought made him start with the movement again, immagining Changbin and Jeongin alternating in fucking him or both of them fucking him simultaniously. And if sometimes Chan's face popped up and encouraged an even louder moan, nobody had to know about it.

Chapter 7: Misunderstanding

Summary:

Chan talks to Jisung about the date

Chapter Text

Chan was sitting in front of his laptop and he was nervous. He had stared a hole into the singing booth before him and heard the same audio sample in a loop for about five minutes, before declaring: “Okay, it’s time.”
It was Wednesday and Chan had to tell Jisung the truth. He had put off this conversation the entire day, partly on purpose to give Jisung less time to overthink stuff before the date. Partly (the bigger part), because Chan was nervous.
When Changbin had come talk to him the day before, Chan’s first reaction had been shock, than confusion and then remorse upon understanding the situation. Although he didn’t know for sure, he was convinced that he had been the reason Jisung had rejected their courting offer and of course he understood the omega. He had reacted terribly to the … slick … situation, first ignoring Jisung all day long, then telling him he could come back to work for him, then transferring him without telling him (even though he was sure the omega actually preferred his current position). So he was pretty sure he had been the reason for the rejection, even if his pack didn’t believe him. And his behaviour hadn’t exactly improved after the failed courting offer, he had been ignoring Jisung (again!) out of shame, avoiding his working space widely and only eating in his office because he didn’t want to make the omega uncomfortable. So he was pretty sure that if the omega knew who Changbin and Jeongin were mated to, he would have never asked them out. And now it was Chan’s job to stop Jisung from canceling the date.

He had not managed to stop thinking about the omega. It was not only because of a missing bouncer in front of his office that he didn’t get any work done. Everytime he had gotten some quiet and peace, that had only applied to the world outside his brain, his mind was working non-stop and especially his inner alpha had kept screaming at him to get his omega, apologize to him and mark him as his. But he wanted to respect Jisung’s decision. He needed to or else he would lose all of Jisung’s respect, even if there probably wasn’t much left. And when Jisung had rejected his pack, it had hurt. Not only him, but all of the pack. So he understood how excited they were when Jisung had asked their alphas out, and it had felt so fucking bad to dampen their enthusiasm, but he had to. They wouldn’t deceive an omega they wanted to court and mate. He didn’t want to destroy their hopes, because they were so high and Chan knew his own were too, but there was a real chance Jisung would never want to be a part of their pack.

Their pack dynamic was kinda rare. Most packs were lucky if they had two pack mates with high compatibility, in Chan's pack, it was all of the mates. And with every new member they had thought that they were so lucky, but surely they wouldn’t meet anybody else. At least not with high compatibility, maybe they’d meet somebody they just fell in love with, they wanted to let all options open. And then Jisung came along and they had been excited. Overly excited, they hadn’t really thought about Jisung saying no to their offer, maybe because the courting of the last two members to join the pack – Jeongin and Minho – had been really easy. Looking back, of course he had said no. His last impression of the pack had been Chan ignoring him and then sending him away and Chan just felt like he had failed as a pack alpha. His actions had caused them unhappiness and now he needed to fix that. He wanted to get to know Jisung, to make him a part of their pack. Mates with high compatibility shouldn’t just reject each other, they were drawn to each other not only physically, but emotionally too. If it were only physical, they wouldn’t have felt an attraction while wearing scent blockers but they did. And Jisung surely had done too. His inner omega should want to be with them like they wanted to be with him, and that he still rejected them meant that his mind didn’t want to be with the pack. And that was Chan’s fault so he had to try to fix it.
When Changbin had told him about the date, the alpha had been so happy about it, but he had understood Chan’s decision to talk to Jisung. The omega deserved the truth and if there was even a slight chance of him joining the pack, it would probably be ruined by a lie. Or an obscuring of the truth, which was basically the same thing. Chan knew Jisung probably hated him but he also knew that he couldn’t wait anymore and had to talk with him. He sighed. He had known since the slick incident that a talk was inexorable but he hadn’t admitted it because he was scared. But now it couldn’t wait. It really couldn’t wait, Chan was startled by the time when he looked at his laptop’s time display. He had to go now. He applied scent blockers and stood up.

He would keep the talk simple. Apologize about his reaction to the slick incident, inform him that Changbin and Jeongin are his pack mates and tell him that he hoped that wouldn’t change his intention of going on the date. That they would be happy to retry the courting offer at a later and more suitable time when they had earned Jisung’s trust. Yes. Chan nodded as he closed his office door and made his way over to the other side of their floor, his and Jisung’s offices being on nearly opposite sides. While walking he was giving himself a peptalk and repeating the key points of the speech he was planning. Not a speech per se, moreso a rehearsed talk. Okay, it was a speech. Kinda.
He was counting his points out with his fingers which earned him a strange look from one of the assisting producers that just came out of the bathroom. He just nodded at her and then he arrived, way too soon, at Jisung’s office. His inner alpha was as excited as Chan himself felt anxious. He both couldn’t wait to see the omega again (and smell him) and was scared of being rejected like his mates and causing his other mates to get rejected as well.
Well, here it goes. He knocked. And waited. And knocked again. And waited again. Wow, they really needed to find a better system for their producer offices, they were wearing headsets most of the time and yep, Chan was pounding on the door now which, he admitted, might not be the best start to an apology.

“Yes?”
Jisung opened the door and WOW, fucking wow. Changbin and Jeongin were so lucky. Jisung looked FANTASTIC! And he smelled … he smelled like … the perfect combination of honey and warmth and sex. Wait, no, Chan, stop! Not sex, he didn’t mean sex, he meant … he meant … sex. Jep, he meant sex. His smell reminded him of Hyunjin and Felix, but they didn’t smell the exact same, all three of his omegas had a distinct smell that was just sooo good, and no, thinking of his omegas did not help Chan’s situation at all. He took a step nearer, he wanted to get closer to this delicious honey smell, get closer to the beautiful omega.
Jisung wore tight trousers that showed off his muscular legs and his tiny waist that Chan wanted to get his hands on and the loose red sweater showed off Jisung’s neck and his collar bones and they were just waiting to be marked up, his scent glands looked great, but how much better would they look with his bite mark on them? Oh, Chan couldn’t wait to make this omega his, he wanted to get a taste of the honey, wanted to drown in it, he needed to wipe his own scent blockers off to make Jisung’s honey mingle with his apples, he wanted to scent the omega and show everyone that he was HIS!

Oh no. What was he doing? He had stepped closer and closer to Jisung, forcing the omega back into his office and cornering him to his desk, where he was baring his neck now for him, presenting beautifully. Oh, what a beautiful neck his omega had, and how good he was to show it off to him like that, oh, such a good omega, just a quick sniff, he just wanted to get closer to get a nice deep breath of that delicious honey smell, oh how beautiful he was bending his neck, making space for him, such a good omega, his … his … his …
Chan was pulled back and he turned around with a deep growl. Who DARED pulling him away from his omega?! Who dared pulling him away from that delicious scent?! He spread his arms out, shielding his omega and being ready for a fight. He recognized the alpha from before, the one that he had met in the hall, what was she doing in his omega’s office? He growled again, quieter this time. This alpha wasn’t a threat to him or his omega, he could shield both of them, even if her eyes glowed bright red, apparently her inner alpha had taken control. Which didn’t make sense, except if she thought one of her own omegas was in danger. Why did she think her omega was in danger? Had this alpha made advances on HIS omega? Both of them growled at each other and she came nearer, searching for a way to get through him to Jisung.

Jisung was still standing against the desk, not seeing much because Chan stood in front of him and he was still kinda dizzy from the alpha’s approach earlier. He hadn’t smelled him but his eyes had been fiercly focused on him and Jisung hadn’t known what was happening but his inner omega had taken control and submitted to his alpa. NOT HIS ALPHA! Damn you, he had thought they were over this by now!
Chan’s second growl shook Jisung out of his rigid pose and when he bent to the side he recognized Balam. What was she doing here? She had been avoiding him after lunch yesterday and when he had searched her today to go to the cafeteria together, she had been gone from her office and she hadn’t been at their usual table so he felt like she had been avoiding him. And wow, bad idea to look into her eyes, because they were RED red and glowed and she kinda scared him. His scent must have given that away because both alphas growled again and Jisung needed to do something to defuse the situation FAST. Fortunately he didn’t need to get closer to either alpha to open the window, he just needed to push past Chan and his desk and then he was there, ignoring the louder growling and was that a punch?!? He quickly opened the window, ignoring the scream behind him until it was wide open and his scent was washing out of the office, before turning around again. WHAT THE FUCK?! WHAT WERE THEY DOING!?? Chan was seemingly bleeding from his nose and was Balam limping? They were prowling around in a half circle, Chan always shielding him and Jisung was thankful because Balam’s eyes were scaring the crap out of him. Still, he needed to defuse this situation. They were fighting over him after all. Or at least he thought they were, he wasn’t sure what was happening. But Balam looked like she would punch Chan again or jump over him to get at Jisung and yep, the window was not enough. Thankfully his emergency stash of scent blocking cream was in a drawer he could reach without getting any nearer to the alphas. He quickly applied the cream and then he did one of the most terrifying things he had ever done: Jisung stood up and slowly walked up to the alphas and – ignoring Chan’s warning shout – stood between them. He took a deep breath (thank god both of them wore scent blockers) and held his arms up, one in each direction. His arms were steady, but his fingers were shaking and wow, this was fucking scary. Deep breaths, Jisung, deep breaths.

He heard Chan say in a somewhat calm voice: “What are you doing? Please get out, preferably out of your office, I’m going to handle this.”
Okay, Chan didn’t seem out of control. Jisung nodded. Good, one alpha less to worry about. And now came the really scary part. Jisung’s arms were shaking as he turned around a bit more to face Balam. He spread his arms out a bit and then looked up, looking into her (still red glowing!) eyes and making himself as big as possible.
“Balam. Please get out of my office.”
He spread his arms out a bit more, and maybe the image of him seemingly defending Chan was too much for Balam, because next thing Jisung knew, he was thrown around and really, really close to Chan’s face. Like closer than he had ever been, he could count the alpha's eyelashes, but he couldn’t appreciate it because then he heard a scratching sound and my god, what was HAPPENING?! He cowered down and when he looked up between Chan’s legs, he saw Balam clawing at Chan’s back and WERE HER FINGERS FUCKING BLOODY?!
Chan jumped around and catched both of her arms with one of his hands, then forcing her down on the floor. Balam was lying right next to Jisung and she stared at him with her red eyes and growled directly at him, shaking him to his bones, while Chan kept holding her down, his teeth by her throat now. Jisung couldn’t take his eyes off hers and he saw how the red slowly gave way to their usual brown color. Her humanity came back, but her sneer remained and when Chan released her when she didn’t fight back anymore, she jumped up and hissed: “I just wanted to protect you!”
Jisung flinched. “Yes. I mean thank you.” He nodded, trying to make the following sound as nice as possible. His voice was shaking: “But I didn’t really ask for it, I didn’t need your protection.”
“So that was CONSENSUAL?! Him forcing you against the table like that?!”
“I … I didn’t feel threatened until you came in, to be honest.”
Balam bared her teeth again. “You’ve chosen the wrong alpha. Both of you will regret this!”

Chan took her arm, clearly worried she’d loose control again, but she shook him off and stormed out of the office. What had been the most horrifying thing out of everything that had just happened, was that Jisung had still seen longing in her eyes.
Then Jisung could look at Chan for the first time in over a week in peace and wow, he had kind of forgotten how beautiful the alpha was. His inner omega preened at having such a handsome alpha and Jisung really wished he could knock his omega out because he needed to keep a clear mind right now. He stood up. “Thank you for shielding me at the end there.”
Chan nodded, then shook his head: “Why the fuck did you think it was a good idea to stand between two alphas?! You could have gotten seriously hurt! That was just stupid and made her loose control and …”
“I think I get it, I just wanted to help which I clearly didn’t.” Jisung walked around his desk and sat down in his chair. “What do you want from me?”
“I want you to be more careful and not put yourself in danger like that. I want …”
“I get it.” Jisung took a pen to fiddle around with. “But what I meant was why did you come in my office in the first place?”
“Oh.” Chan was clearly still agitated, but Jisung saw that he tried to gain his composure again. “I wanted to apologize for my behaviour in the last week and inform you that Changbin and Jeongin belong to my pack. I know you invited them to a date and I didn’t want you to find out later and regret it because you didn’t know they belong to me.”
“Oh.”

Jisung couldn’t look into Chan’s eyes. That had been a bit much at once. The last ten minutes had already been too much, but Chan’s little information dump won hands down. All of his hopes and dreams vanished once again and he felt bad for putting the pack through this again but why exactly did Chan wait until the last minute to tell him this? It was ten minutes to five right now, he had been finishing up when Chan had come knocking and his hopes had been building up all day long. They had already been shaken up by Chan’s behaviour earlier and he knew that he should have felt threatened, but his omega had literally been purring and begging for more while he had been pressed against his desk. And he understood Balam’s initial reaction (even if he didn’t know why she came to his office) but the way his “friend” had let her inner alpha take control had really been scary. The last time he had seen something like this had been with his home pack’s alpha and he never wanted to relive those times. His omega wasn’t just not interested in Balam anymore, the other alpha had made him uncomfortable and scared him, even if her intentions hadn’t been bad.

But back to Chan. The alpha was looking at him nervously and Jisung had to reassure him now that he wouldn’t go on the date and invite himself into the pack. Chan had phrased it nicely, but both of them knew the alpha just wanted to get him to cancel. Jisung was getting kinda pissed now. Not for his own sake, he knew the alpha hated him, but he had thought Chan at least cared more about his pack mates than to force him to cancel last minute. And he didn’t even have Changbin’s or Jeongin’s phone numbers.
“Okay. I won’t need to regret anything, don’t worry. But I don’t have their numbers so …”
“Wait, I’ll give them to you. Are you going to text them?”
“Yes. You don’t have to.”
Chan smiled while writing the numbers down on a piece of paper. “That’s great! Not that I would mind, I’d love to text them and I’m sure they’ll be really relieved now.”

Chan knew the numbers by heart which would impress Jisung on any other occasion but right now Chan was just being a real asshole. He understood that he didn’t want Jisung in his pack, but he really didn’t have to be so openly happy about him canceling the date. And would Changbin and Jeongin really be RELIEVED? They had seemed happy about the date invitation but that had been before they had somehow found out that they had it with him. With the dumb omega that had made a fool of himself in front of their pack alpha and that had rejected their courting offer. Of course they didn’t want to go on a date with him and they had just send Chan to not have to reject him themselves which he understood, but it still angered him. He knew he was an idiot and they thought he was a pervert, but they could have at least told him honestly why they didn’t want him instead of these lying games. Fuck Chan and fuck his pack, now Jisung really didn’t want anything to do with them anymore. He felt his omega cry out at that thought, but he supressed it immediately, he wouldn’t let his subgender make decisions for him anymore. Even now his omega regretted that Balam had interrupted them and that nothing more had happened, it really wanted Chan to scent him and hold him down and make him feel safe. Even though his scent had clearly clouded Chan’s judgement and if the alpha had continued, he would have probably hated him even more. At least like this neither of them had done much to regret and Jisung had to tell his still crying omega that that was a GOOD thing! Fuck it, he was so done with this bullshit.
“I’ll text them.”
He really fucking hated his life right now and did Chan really have to look this happy about him NOT going on a date with his mates? He understood that he was happy, but he really didn’t have to smile like that.
“Great! See you, Jisung.”
He whispered. “See you, Chan-ssi.”
Chan frowned and said: “I told you that you can call me hyung, right?”
Jisung succeded in not rolling his eyes, because how fucking dense could somebody be. “Yes, I’m sorry. See you, hyung.”

Chan nodded, smiled brightly at him and went to his office with a happy bounce in his step. That obnoxious asshole, displaying his happiness about Jisung canceling the date this obviously. Of course he was happy to finally be rid of Jisung, but that had been just rude. And still Jisung couldn’t hate him, especially not while looking at his shredded shirt and his slightly bloody back that Chan had gotten from defending him. Well, no wonder he was happy to be rid of him, he had only caused bad luck and sad feelings for the pack. As their pack alpha he probably wouldn’t want Jisung in the pack regardless of the slick incident and no high compatibility that Yuna still thought they had would change that. Jisung sighed, looked at his open office door and decided to let the air flow around for another bit to get rid of his smell and the fucking energy and his memories. He would now go to the bathroom and then text Changbin and/or Jeongin that the date wouldn’t happen. Great. They’d probably send back sad smileys or something like that to be polite and wow, for never losing his single status he really wanted his unproblematic single life back.

Chapter 8: Making an enemy

Summary:

Chan saves Jisung

Chapter Text

It was Monday and Jisung was happy. Well, somewhat happy. He had spent the weekend with Yuna and even went to the cinema with Jungie Saturday evening, just chilling. They had talked a bit about Balam and Jungie thought that the female alpha would come back to her senses soon enough and had for sure gotten the hint now. Jisung didn’t tell her that he wasn’t sure if he could be friends with Balam after what had happened, because only thinking about it made his inner omega cower and feel scared. He had eaten alone in his office on Thursday and Friday because he didn’t want to see her.

It hadn’t been that bad, just a bit lonely, but today he would go to lunch with Yuna which he was really excited for. He could even show her his office and it would be great to make some positive experiences in that room. He snickered, the last two weeks really had been crazy, thank god that was over now. Because yes, his omega still cried out for “his” pack and there were nights were he only slept two hours, but he had gotten really good at ignoring the sadness during the day. He knew he would be fine, it might just take another week or two. He hadn’t heard anything from the pack, Changbin and Jeongin had not even responded to the message he had sent. And he was FINE with that. He was RELIEVED even, as relieved as they had probably been upon reading his text. Especially after Chan returned home that day with a bloody back and a story of how he had to defend the dumb omega from a random alpha. Would it have been NICE to hear SOMETHING back? Of course. Would he obsess over that nearly empty chat history? Of course not. Well … at least not during the next eight hours while he was at work. Maybe. He sighed and closed his office’s door behind him.
Thankfully he was swamped in work. One of the tracks he had worked on with the girl group that would debut in five weeks had been chosen as the titel track so he had even be assigned an assistant producer to help him with the song. And with the three other songs he helped producing. He had always thought it was a nice idea that SKZ’s idols debuted with a full album instead of one or two tracks, but now, working for the company … not gonna lie, he still loved it. But he was grateful to meet his assistant producer today and letting them take over some of the less complicated tasks. The AP should arrive any minute now and Jisung started working in the meantime. He really wanted to let one of the girls re-record that one part of the chorus because he KNEW she could hit the notes better than that.

He didn’t hear the knock – of course he didn’t – but immediately smelled that somebody had entered. That must be his new assistant. Jisung turned around with a smile that immediately froze on his face. Why was she here?
“Hey Jisung.”
Balam smiled at him but he didn’t like how she smiled, it scared him a little. But he made sure to not show it, when he stood up. “Balam?”
“Hey.” She had not stopped smiling and closed the door behind her back. Why was her scent so strong? She smelled like fresh bread and in theory he liked that smell, but now he felt an ick at the back of his throat and he started to take shallow breaths. It smelled overwhelming and unsafe. “I am here to help you.”
Jisung couldn’t help himself, he took a step back and why was she still smiling? He knew she probably didn’t look as bad as she did in his perception, but she really reminded him of the movie where people get possessed by a demon and have a terrifying smile all of a sudden.

“Help me?”
“Yep. I am your assistant producer. My boss is sick right now and I don’t have any projects that are as urgent as this one so I volunteered when they asked around.”
“You volunteered? Do you think that is a good idea after what happened last week?”
Jisung blinked slowly. He felt the pheromones influencing him and he needed to stop that. He still had the immage in his head of how Balam had looked last week, in this very office, lying on the floor with red eyes and baring her teeth at him. How she had hissed at him that he would regret choosing Chan over her. He needed to stay alert and as Balam kept coming closer, he stepped to the side, closer to the window. THE WINDOW! He quickly turned around and opened it. Some of the bread smell flowed out and Jisung breathed in the fresh air. Then he turned around again.
“Yes! That was just a misunderstanding. Of course you couldn’t turn against Chan, you’re probably scared he’d take the producer position away from you again. And when I was calmer I even realized that you were trying to defend me from him, standing between us like that. I am really sorry how I reacted. I hope we can turn things back to normal and be friends again. Or maybe even more, one day, who knows?”

What. Was. Happening?! Should he be relieved that she didn’t seem to want to cause him harm? Or scared about her wild misinterpretation of what had happened? HOW was she still interested in him? That just wasn’t normal behaviour and Jisung didn’t know how to react when Balam kept approaching him. She was now blocking one of his two escape routes and when he realized that he thought in terms of “escape routes” Jisung knew that being scared was the more suitable option. He half turned to the window to keep breathing in the fresh air, instead of the bread smell that seemed to have a slightly rooten undertone, now that Balam was standing nearly directly in front of him.
“I am sorry, Balam, but I don’t think us working together is a good idea.”
Balam finally lost her smile, now she started looking angry. Or maybe just confused? Nope, Jisung was hit with a new wave of pheromones and they were slightly aggressive.

“Why?”
Jisung’s omega protested when he turned his back to Balam to get more fresh air directly from the window. Would it be a good idea to wipe off his scent blockers? Maybe if Balam could smell his fear, she would finally understand that she was terrifying him? And go away? But his omega protested even louder at this idea, scared of what the aggressive alpha could do to him when she smelled his scent.
“I don’t feel comfortable working with you.” Oh no, she looked angrier now. And why was she still coming closer?! Had he not been clear enough? What did he have to do to get her to stay away from him? Or maybe he should go? Jisung didn’t want to, this was his office after all and normally he wouldn’t let any alpha take over his space, but he was really worried that she was going to hurt him if he wouldn’t do anything. He looked around, assessing the situation and wondering how he could defuse it the quickest, when the door opened again.

“What is going on in here?”
At the entrance stood another alpha and his inner omega was starting to really scream now because all escape exits were blocked! Because of his inner turmoil it took him a few seconds to recognize the man and when he did, he got even more worried. It was the alpha he had met last week, on his first workday, in front of Chan’s office. The one that had seemed to belittle him because of his subgender and that had threatened to complain to his boss about Jisung.
Balam turned around and stood in a more imposing pose now, taking a step to the side to stand in front of Jisung. He was ready to bolt, to run between his desk and the mixing table and just flee from his office and the threatening alpha scent that seemed to be everywhere now, despite him trying to breath in the fresh air from the window. The problem was, the other alpha was still blocking the doorway and his way out.

Balam said: “Mr Seo Sungchu. What are you doing here?”
“I’m here to speak with the producer that works with FLOWER.”
FLOWER was the name of the girl group that Jisung had been working with and hearing the familiar name helped Jisung to fight the panic down a bit. Still, having two alphas he didn’t trust near him and especially this close was unnerving.
“I’m working with Jisung-ah on that. What do you want?”

Balam’s pose became slightly threatening now, not only to Jisung’s panicking mind, but objectively so. She squared her shoulders and hunched slightly down, as if ready to jump at the man any second now, which distracted him from how she had somehow put herself in his work team.
“Whoa, calm down. I won’t harm your omega, don’t worry. Would you feel better if we talked without him about this?”
The man stepped inside the office and no no no, this was bad, he was coming closer now. They were cornering him! Jisung still tried to fight his panic down, he could not let this happen. He couldn’t let them step over his head like this! Balam knew nothing of the group and why did she act like that?! They would not exclude him from his main project! And what had the male alpha just said?
“I am not her …”

Balam’s slight turn made Jisung immediately shut up. It wasn’t as obvious as last week, but her eyes had a tint of red again. Was she going to fight? The man or … him? He gulped and looked with horror as the door closed behind the other alpha.
“I am the … main producer and … please open the door … again.”
It was hard to speak under both of their stares and Jisung felt his knees weaken. What should he do? He wanted to stick his head outside to maybe clear himself from Balam’s pheromones a bit, but at the same time turning his back to the alphas seemed like the worst idea ever. The alpha did not open the door and instead stepped closer.

“Well … you don’t seem in the right condition to talk about business right now, so maybe leave it to us?”
Through the thick fear he felt, Jisung could still feel annoyance. That guy really was an asshole, but Jisung wasn’t in the right condition to fight back. Balam took another step to the side, standing sideways to face both him and Seo Sungchu, as he approached. A scared whimper escaped him and he took another step back, the last one he had. His back hit against the opened window and he was cornered now.
Both alphas looked at him when they heard the sound but their reactions were drastically different. Balam immediately faced the other alpha, baring her teeth and another gush of pheromones, even more aggressive ones this time, came from her and made Jisung dizzy and his knees weaken. The other alpha wore scent blockers (at least one good thing!) and was that disgust Jisung saw? Why was his instinct not to save and protect him? He tried again: “Please step back, I’m …”

His mind was slowly overtaken by his omega and another whimper escaped him. If he hadn’t worn scent blockers his destressed scent would have filled the entire office and probably forced the alphas to either help him or get away, but the only defense Jisung had, were his words. They failed him now, when both alphas looked at him, neither of them in a calming way, and he slowly sunk down on his knees, putting his hands over his neck. He instinctevely shirmed his scent glands off. But he still forced his head upright, he would not take the risk of not looking at the alphas anymore. Both of them still looked at him and he avoided looking directly in their eyes, he didn’t want to challenge them. Balam’s aggression was still filling his nose and her smell seemed to get stronger and stronger. Jisung’s legs were shaking and his breaths got shallower and shallower. He was on his way to a full-blown panik attack if nothing happened, he felt tears forming in his eyes and it took an immense effort to keep his head up and not submit to the alphas. He felt his omega taking control, shirming him from what was happening and Jisung felt his control slip. Then the door opened again.

“Jisung!”
It was Chan! His omega cried out when it smelled the reassuring apple scent, and it had taken over so Jisung could not hold the sound back, the scream for his alpha ringing in his ears. He sank down more and more, trusting his alpha to protect him, to not let the bad alphas get to him, to stay with him. He whimpered again and teared up, keeping his eyes tightly closed. He heard them arguing, but blocked it out, blocked the sounds out, blocked everything out, his omega was shielding him from everything that was happening. His alpha was here and he would protect him, so he wouldn’t take harm. The omega repeated this over and over in his head, until he felt the aggressive pheromones lessen and the apple scent approach. His alpha was coming to rescue him.
“Alpha …”

“Jisung-ah, are you okay? Can you stand up?”
Mmmmh, good alpha, was caring for him. Jisung slowly opened his eyes and he zoned in one Chan’s face. He was as beautiful as ever, such a handsome alpha that was protecting him. But why did he look so worried? His alpha shouldn’t be worried. Jisung moved to scent him, wanting to comfort Chan, but the alpha moved away. The omega whined, he wanted to touch his alpha!
“Jisung? Can you please talk to me?”
Sungchu said: “Get away from him, you’re too close. He won’t get his composure back like this.”

Jisung’s eyes followed Chan’s look to the door where the male alpha way standing. He didn’t see Balam and looked back at Chan. He had not seen the alpha since their talk last week because he had made sure they wouldn’t be crossing paths. Not that that had been difficult. And despite everything that had happened between them, despite the embarassment that flodded him, his omega still cried out for the alpha and Jisung had felt safe the minute the alpha had walked into the office. His control over his body and mind came back and he slowly sat up. He avoided looking at anybody, he needed some time right now. He carefully stood up and took a step back, standing closer to the still open window. Balam’s smell returned and Jisung anxiously turned around. All three alphas looked at him. Well, Balam moreso stared holes of fire and hell into Chan’s back, but he still felt her attention on him. Seo Sungchu, at least Jisung thought he had heard that name before, stared at him without any empathy and with … was that disgust? Jisung hoped that wasn’t what the man was feeling, but it sure looked like it. And Chan … oh Chan. The alpha’s face showed his worry and Jisung was grateful that at least one person in his vicinity showed some compassion.
“Are you okay?” Chan’s hand twitched, but he kept it by his side.
“I …”

The asshole alpha interrupted him again: “We don’t know what happened and I called HR, they’re sending somebody that deals with omega problems like this and they’re going to make sure that nobody assaulted you or some shit so you just have to say that you are fine and that we didn’t threaten you and then all of us can go back to work as I’m sure it is everybody’s wish.”
“Sungchu, please. He is still upset. And I actually am really curious about his report, because the amount of distress I sensed couldn’t have come from nothing.” Chan looked back at Jisung. “How are you feeling?”
“I …”

“What do you mean you sensed his distress? He’s wearing scent blockers!”
“Stop interrupting me!”
Jisung glared at the man, still shaken and not really ready for a confrontation, so he was relieved when a young woman appeared behing Sungchu.
“Good morning.” She quickly assessed the situation. “Who here called me?”
Sungchu sighed. “That was me. How fast can we get this over with? I have important business to do and I’m sure my cousin Mr Seo – you know, the CEO – won’t be pleased if you keep me here for too long.”
Chan stepped forward. “And I am sure that Mr Seo – my pack mate – wants everything to be done the right way, so take however much time you need, please.”
The woman looked unimpressed with both of them. She spotted Jisung cowering against the window and decided quickly: “Okay, everybody out. You can wait in the hall while I talk to him first.”

The alphas complied, even if the asshole shut the door with an annoyed bang. Jisung’s omega cried out for his alpha to come back, to not leave him alone after what had happened, to stay with him and touch him again and to let him scent him. He wanted those apples to surround him again, to feel like lying in a field of apple trees, to take a deep breath and be calmed by the smell of fresh apple pie. But Chan was not his alpha and would never be, so he just stuck his head out of the window again and turned around a few seconds later, already feeling calmer.
“Well, Mr Han I presume. Can you tell me what happened?”

The talk with the HR lady was really comforting. She reassured him that any involvement with the CEO would not interfere with her questioning of the alphas, her report or the consequences for the alphas. Jisung actually believed her, she seemed like she was serious about her job which was not “dealing with omega problems” like Sungchu had put it and rather “representative of omega rights and omega needs” of the company. That SKZ even had somebody like her already spoke volumes and after talking with her, Jisung felt better and reassured. Well, at least until she forced him to go home to recover from the incident, which OKAY, it made sense theoretically. But being at work had been his only comfort and distraction the last week and a half and Jisung really, really didn’t want to be alone with his thoughts and feelings today.
But he complied, it was the standard method regarding any incidents that could potentially harm an omega’s health and he knew it was a good thing, but it still sucked. When he exited the office he was met with three alphas whose faces showed a wide range of emotions, from worried (Chan) to repulsed (Sungchu) and angry (Balam).

“Why are you acting this way?”
Balam wanted to step closer but was stopped by Chan’s arm.
“Don’t touch me, asshole.”
“Don’t go near Jisung then.”
Jisung had automatically taken a step back. Balam blared her teeth slightly and hissed. “He is not your fucking omega.”
Jisung sighed. Somebody had forced Balam to apply scent blockers and it was helping immensly with not getting panicked again. Chan’s scent was blocked too, which made his omega cry out. He had not smelled the alpha for so long and earlier he hadn’t had the time or mindset to appreciate the smell and wow, his omega really was not giving up on the whole “Chan is my alpha” thing, huh? Whatever, he just wanted to go home.
“Well, he’s not yours either!”

Chan must have been really shaken by the incident, he sounded so protective and even … possessive? Which didn’t make sense, but again, Jisung just wanted to go home. He was ready to interfere and stop the argument, when Balam said: “You don’t have any say in who does or does not touch him, and I would never do anything to hurt my omega so if …”

Wha … ?!

“I am NOT your omega!”
Balam looked at him and Sungchu just took a step back, clearly not wanting to have anything more to do with this drama then he already did. Chan grinned at Balam’s shocked face but Jisung had enough of those dumb possessive alphas.
“And I am not yours either!”
Chan looked taken aback and … sad? Why would he be sad?
“Not that I suggest you want me to be, we talked enough about that.”
“So he really just uses you as a side piece?!”

“What?!” Chan and Jisung both looked at Balam shocked.
“Well clearly you slept with him to be a producer and I thought I could forgive you for that, but I’m not sure anymore. Maybe if you apologize …”
It was too much. It was just too much. “Well, then don’t forgive me. I’m going home now.”
He moved by them quickly and didn’t turn around, ignoring Balam’s calls behind him. He had had enough of alphas for a long time now. Well except Jungie, if she still wanted to be friends after what had just happened and maybe he should call her before Balam had the chance to do so. But first he was getting himself some omega-omega alone-time.

Bless the heavens for Yuna, they spent the entire afternoon cuddling and talking and she stayed with him when he started writing a few songs in which he dealt with what had happened. After Yuna had gone to sleep and Jisung had not been able to sleep (he actually didn’t remember the last time when he had gotten his necessary-to-function 8 hours) he had started producing one of the songs. It was too personal to use for one of the groups or artists at work, he would put it on his next mixtape. During the last week, after the slick incident, he had worked on several songs and had five half-finished by now. So had he been miserable? Yes. But at least he was productive while doing so. He loved producing so much, because at least for a couple hours he could forget about EVERYHTING other than beats and his own voice in his ears.
With Yuna sitting beside him, Jisung had gotten an e-mail from HR with the report about that morning and it included all statements and Jisung was so thankful for Yuna’s calming scent because without it he would have had a full-blown panic attack. There were lies. Or maybe the alphas were delusional, but still, the report was not what Jisung had experienced.

First Seo Sungchu: He did not see any fault in closing the door on an obviously scared omega (he said he had not realized that Jisung was scared, despite him pressing himself against the wall) and saw nothing wrong with just talking to Balam about FLOWER despite being explicitely send to Jisung. He said Jisung had been hysteric and he didn’t think he was fit for the work and he even suggested to remove him from the project and maybe let him be an assistant producer first, because the stress of being a producer was too much for an omega. He described Jisung as not being professional, not being in control, and this whole thing being a symptom of omegas working in jobs with a too high stress level for them.
Asshole.

Then Balam: She was just delusional. She thought that everything was fine, that her behaviour and her aggressively putting out her pheromones all over an omega’s workspace – or any workspace btw – wasn’t harmful or dangerous in any way, especially because she was convinced that Jisung and her were basically just short of announcing their courting. Wtf. She thought Jisung had reacted that way because of Sungchu and then Chan and when she was informed of how Jisung had recollected the incident, had apparently gotten extremely defensive and accused Chan and Changbin of manipulating the omega by offering him a better job and then she went completely off the rails and accused all three of them of having affairs because the alphas were not happy with their own omegas (her argument being that they wouldn’t be held secret if the alphas were proud of the relationship) and Jisung needed money. When asked if that was an official accusation and if she wanted an internal investigation to start, she answered no. No reason given. She then started ranting about how ungrateful Jisung was, how she had taken him under her wing, had given him presents and paid his lunch (which was a lie, she had offered to do so several times and Jisung had refused) and that she should have gotten the producer position, not him, because she had worked longer under the company. Her statement stopped then, it was pretty chaotic. Beneath her statement was a comment from the HR lady in which she stated that they would have a meeting with Balam about her accusations and her employment status because of her unacceptable behaviour.

Lastly, Chan: He said he had sensed a high level of distress coming from Jisung’s office, but when asked how he was able to sense that with the door being closed and Jisung not wearing scent blockers, he didn’t answer. (Jisung was glad because he didn’t want talk to go around about his high compatibility with the alpha and his pack, that would only fuel Balam’s accusations.) Chan said that Jisung had looked extremely distressed and the other two alphas were standing in close proximity to the cowering omega, not giving him the space he evidently needed. Upon his arrival, Jisung fell down even more and Chan did not now if he caused that and if so, he was really sorry. He then procedeed to drag Balam out of the office, getting help from Sungchu, while the older alpha ranted about omegas not being suited for these jobs. (Jisung was surprised Chan told HR about this, considering that Sungchu was his pack mate’s cousin.) After Balam and Sungchu were outside, Chan entered again and tried to help Jisung who was still cowering on the floor while Sungchu was calling HR. He was surprised that the other alpha knew the protocol so well and asked if there had been other incidents like this involving Sungchu, but wasn’t given an answer for privacy reasons. He then described how Jisung woke up and how erratic Balam got while they were waiting for the omega to finish his report, accusing him and the other alpha as well as Changbin of manipulating the omega and forcing him into non-consensual sexual acts. Chan said that Balam was fixed on her conspiracy theory and that he and Changbin would be available for any questioning if HR had any doubts on their professionalism or how they treat omega employees. The lady said that that probably wouldn’t be necessary but thanked him for the offer.

Chan was nice. Jisung really, really wanted to hate him, to maybe actually get over him eventually, but the alpha made it difficult. His omega had gotten new fuel for all the hopeless dreams about the alpha and the pack and Jisung just didn’t have the energy to stop it. He was exhausted and frustrated because he wasn’t able to sleep. Again. But eventually he did, far past midnight his eyes fell closed.

The next day Jisung tried to work. He had tried to work the entire morning and the two hours since his lunch break, but SOMEBODY (and come on, how could it not have been Balam?) had told everyone that he had an affair with both Chan or Changbin or both of them and had gotten his new position only because of his body and seduction skills (which both were great, Jisung knew that, but the rumours were still insulting). He hadn’t even tried going into the cafeteria, he did NOT want to be stared at and whispered about, but the whole ordeal wouldn’t even have been so bad, if they would let him work in peace.
He was pissed and exhausted and if ONE MORE PERSON decided that knocking on his door and asking him about his affair with Mr Bang Chan or Mr Seo Changbin was a good idea, his stressball wouldn’t be enough anymore. Jisung was not a violent person, he really wasn’t, but my god, people were a terrible invention and should be banned immediately.

His first visitor had been Jungie and Jisung had been glad that she was checking up on him and she had even told him that she was by on side which was really sweet. But all the people after her weren’t. Jisung lost track after the fifth person but by mid-afternoon there had probably been around fifteen to twenty people coming to his office to ask about “projects” Jisung knew they had nothing to do with or ones that Jisung had never heard of. He really understood Chan now and wished for some intern to use as a bouncer like he had been but he didn’t want to attract even more attention. This really sucked. Work had been his safe space for the last week because being at home alone with his thoughts was terrible and now they were taking this safe space away from him. Fucking nosy assholes. He had just sent another one away and he really had not gotten any work done the entire day, the title track still wasn’t finished and he had gotten two e-mails from FLOWER’s producer and one from Sungchu and the last one he had not even answered because he was scared if he told them about this dumb situation they would transfer the project to another producer and Jisung would not risk that. This was HIS baby, he had poured everything into it, his blood, sweat and tears (so many tears), and Sungchu might think he was incompetent but he would show him. And he would have already shown him if he had had half an hour of uninterrupted work time.

And who the fuck was it now?! Somebody had opened the door again and Jisung was ready to actually throw hands at the interruptor when he turned around, but he quickly lowered his arms again. He stood up.

“Chan-hyung. Hi.”
Chan said something but Jisung didn’t hear him due to his headset. He put it on the table.
“Sorry what?”
“Do you need some help? I’ve gotten an e-mail from Mr Park, FLOWER’s main producer, about possibly taking over the project and …”
“He has what?! And you agreed to that?!”
“What? No, of course not! But he was pretty serious so I thought if I offered to help you it would calm him down and it did. But if you don’t want my help, I totally understand that and I’ll just go.”
Jisung watched Chan turn around and sighed. He noticed that the alpha had applied scent blockers which was kinda sweet considering what effect their smells had on each other.

“No, wait. If I don’t take your help, they’ll probably transfer the project to somebody else. So yes, please, help me.”

Chan’s smile lit up the entire room, and it ignited something warm in Jisung too. He smiled back, he couldn’t have stopped it even if he wanted to and he didn’t want to. Yes, Chan had been an asshole, but he had saved him two … no, three times now and maybe they could start fresh. And not gonna lie, Jisung’s inner fanboy made an even bigger comeback than his inner omega at the prospect of having THE Bang Chan help him produce, he couldn’t believe it. Not that his inner omega was quiet, it certainly was screaming with joy right now at the thought of spending hours together with "his" alpha. Maybe this whole thing wouldn’t be that bad.

Chapter 9: Chan helps Jisung

Chapter Text

They’ve been going at it for hours now and it was fun, producing with Chan felt like the best thing Jisung had ever done. And that was confusing, because he was still a bit mad at the alpha, but when he looked at his concentrated and handsome face, he thought to himself that there probably was not a person in the world that could stay mad at Bang Chan. Not that he was staring much, well except the few times he was. The pair was mostly working hard and only talking about the music. And producing with Chan was so much fun. It was such a pleasure to see him work and play with music, because the things he tried out added so many layers to the songs he had already deemed nearly finished. It showed Jisung that there was still so much he could improve on and it was a huge motivation and inspiration. Chan redeemed his status as his idol producer (not that he had ever seriously lost it). During the last weeks Jisung had just had to ban every thought of the alpha and during this afternoon Jisung realized that he had not just missed the alpha as a person, but listening to his music too. Chan’s songs had always helped him during the tough times and losing that comfort during the roughest time he had had since moving to Seoul had not helped his general depressive state during the last weeks.
But Jisung did not think of that a lot, because they just had so much fun. They had needed about ten minutes to forget everything that had happened between them, because they just clicked so well when talking about and working with music. It was a beautiful experience, sharing the thing Jisung loved most in the world with somebody that felt the same way. Jisung had to hold much giggling in, because the weight on his chest was finally lifted and he just felt so light and great! And what made him feel even better was how Chan listened to him and did not take the project over but rather added to Jisung’s vision and helped him. He wasn’t above simple assistant tasks which made the alpha even more attractive. But Chan’s attractiveness was not something Jisung allowed himself to think about because he would not ruin this new-found friendship (?) between them. Jisung knew it was too soon to talk about friendship or anything close to that, but he already felt like he had known Chan for ever and he hoped they would someday, maybe, hopefully, be friends.

Another reason why they were so productive (besides them both being fantastic producers) was that Chan had put a chair in front of the door, which yeah, obviously, why did Jisung not think of that? They still got interrupted a few times by people who's greed for gossip would not be stopped by an obstacle as simple as the chair, but they usually just made something dumb up when they saw Chan with him in the office. Somebody actually asked if Jisung could borrow her a pen, which he did, but he and Chan laughed for two minutes after that. Especially because the girl’s face had turned SOO red after seeing Chan, she had looked like a tomato.

Oh, and it felt so good laughing with Chan! Holding a grudge really was impossible when Chan was not only saving his ass by helping with the project, but also was so fucking CUTE during their breaks! The way he GIGGLED! Jisung thought his heart would burst from holding in all the “awww”’s and “cute”’s. The omega just wanted to cuddle with him and make him laugh until his stomach hurt.

They worked until 7 pm nearly non-stop and not only finished the title track (that had already gotten an approval by FLOWER’s manager), they had nearly finished two other tracks too. They were on fire! And Chan really was too nice for his own good, he had even proposed the idea that Jisung didn’t have to add his name on the list of producers of the track because he did not want to add fuel to the manager’s idea that Jisung couldn’t get the job done. Jisung stopped that preposition fast. He knew there would be people (Sungchu) that would believe that Chan had saved him and so on, but Jisung would have enough opportunities in the future to prove that he was as capable as anybody else and would maybe, one day, even be as good as Chan. But taking recognition away from Chan was no option because the alpha deserved it. The tracks wouldn’t be what they were without his help and Jisung was proud that there names would be next to each other. Han Jisung, Bang Chan. They sounded good together.

After getting the approval from Mr Park, Chan had jumped up and had nearly hugged Jisung, but had shielded back immediately and that was the only time that afternoon that Jisung had felt the sadness from last week’s rejection. He understood Chan, the alpha obviously didn’t want him to get his hopes up, he was simply being nice and helping him and Jisung was grateful for that, he really was, and he shouldn’t wish for something more, because that was already more time than he had hoped to ever be able to spend with the alpha. Chan was awesome and the more Jisung got to know him over the course of this afternoon, the more he cursed himself for fucking everything up, because having an alpha as kind and talented and intelligent and cute as Chan as HIS alpha would have been a dream. A dream that would never be reality and Jisung was okay with that. This time he meant it. They were not good for each other, whether they had high compatibility or not. Everytime they had crossed the line of co-workers, something bad had happened and Jisung would not risk having Chan or his pack go through any kind of drama again. And they had the potential of being friends which was also something Jisung did not want to fuck up. They had good chemistry and made each other laugh and just spending time with Chan on a platonic level was enough for Jisung. Totally enough.

That was something he told himself several times during each of their little breaks and at the end of their working session he believed it. He didn’t want to finish because he had enjoyed their time together so much, but Chan had really helped enough. Even if he had had a free afternoon (and Jisung could not immagine Chan helping him otherwise, nobody was THAT nice) he had helped him more than he could have immagined and deserved a nice evening with his pack.

Jisung slowly took his headset off and laid it on the table. He then tapped Chan on the shoulder.
“Chanie-hyung?”
Chan blinked slowly, he had clearly been immsersed in the music, and his face while he concentrated was so handsome, the confidence he showed was really hot. As was the way he pushed his headset down to his shoulders and looked at him. Jisung had not had to fight his omega much during work, it was enjoying the time with the alpha as much as he did, but now that they would soon part again, Jisung felt it getting more active and focusing on all the attractive features of the alpha, that could be his if he played it right. ‘Shut up’, he thought, ‘we’re not going to ruin the first time we interacted with him that didn’t end in a disaster. Yet. So please keep it together.’
“All good?”

Jisung smiled.
“Yes, hyung, don’t worry. I wanted to say thank you. I couldn’t have done this without you today. You’ve not only been a great help but it was generally really fun working with you. But now I want to release you, I don’t wanna take more from your day than I already have.”
Chan looked sad for a second, probably because he liked producing so much that he didn’t want to stop, then started to smile again. “It has been such a pleasure working with you, it was so much fun. I hope we can do this again soon!”
Jisung giggled. “I hope so, too! I’m nearly finished with my part of the FLOWER album and after that I don’t have anything planned yet.”
“Oh, that’s perfect!” Chan wiggled his hands around excitingly. “I mean I do have some projects but I will always make some time for a collaboration with you, we’re a good team!”
“Yep, dream team Chan and Han!”
Chan giggled. “Han? Are we on last name basis now?”
“Do it for the rhyme.” Jisung laughter was contagious.

Oh, Jisung really loved how comfortable they had gotten over the course of one afternoon. Something he had not even dared to dream off had happened just like that, like the easiest thing in the world.
But Chan looked more serious now all of a sudden. “Listen Jisung-ah, I don’t know how badly the rumours have affected you …”
“Oh yeah, I wanted to apologize for that! I’m really sorry that Balam …”
“You don’t need to apologize for anything.” Chan looked even more serious now. “I mean it, you do not have any responsibility over Balam’s actions. Got it?”
Jisung nodded.
“Good. And just so you know, she is getting fired. I probably shouldn’t tell you this until it is totally confirmed, but they had a meeting with her today and decided afterwards that they are going to fire her tomorrow. She repeated all the stuff she said yesterday and they consider her a threat for the omegas here.”

Jisung felt like a weight had been lifted off his shoulders. He had avoided thinking about the incident from the day before as much as possible, but hearing that he wouldn’t have to worry about Balam anymore, was such a relief.
“That’s good to hear. Thanks for breaking the rules to tell me.”
He winked at Chan only to immediately regret it and then regret it that he regretted it because he started to blush. Chan looked at his hands that were fumbling in his lap. Oh no, he didn’t make him uncomfortable, did he? But no, Chan looked up again and his smile was as beautiful as ever.
“You’re more than welcome, that’s the least I can do. I should have told HR about what happened last week but I was distracted and I forgot and I am really sorry for that.”
“Hey. If I don’t get to apologize for her actions, you don’t get to either.”

Jisung’s hand flexed out of the desire to touch the alpha’s hand to reassure him that he did nothing wrong, but that would probably make Chan uncomfortable. And thankfully the touch was not necessary to make Chan’s guilty look disappear. But why did he look so serious again?
“Thank you. But something else. They can’t fire Sungchu right now.” Chan’s eyes were cast down and he looked … ashamed? “And I know it is a lot to ask because you don’t know us really well, but I hope you can one day believe me when I say that it has nothing to do with him being Binnie’s cousin. The thing is, he played the dumb card. And it worked. He said he didn’t realize what happened with you and Balam and HR can’t do too much against that strategy except give him a warning and send him to a two-week seminar about discrimination against omegas in the workplace and how to treat omega colleagues. Which he is forced to take now. I know that this isn’t enough or even what’s right or what you deserve after what happened.”
Jisung lifted his hand again only to immediately bury it in his sweatshirt and fumble with the seams. His omega’s desire to comfort the alpha grew by the minute, it wanted to jump onto the alpha’s lap and scent him to make sure he understood that he hadn’t done anything wrong. He couldn’t smell Chan but just his sad eyes made the omega cry out to soothe the alpha.
“It is more than I expected, actually. And it is more than most companies would do, so thank you. Or who should I thank for that? Changbin? Or HR? Or maybe I shouldn’t thank anybody, that would be a bit weird, I suppose.”
“Maybe a bit. And please don’t do it before tomorrow so they don’t know I told you everything.” Chan smiled. “But I’m sure the people from HR would appreciate it nonetheless. And it was them that organized all of it. Changbin was informed, of course, but he was not involved directly into any decision-making because of his involvement with Sungchu and I. That could have been a possible conflict of interest, especially with me being his pack alpha.”
“Makes sense.”

Jisung smiled. Changbin really was a great CEO.

“But about what I wanted to ask you earlier. I mean, we are thinking of what we can do to dissolve the rumours but there is not that much you can do against people talking.”
“Yeah, often stuff like this gets worse if you try to do something against it. And it’s not that bad, as long as they let me work in peace I’m fine. Eating in the office even has some advantages, like I can work during lunch break too and get more done.”
And why was Chan looking sad again? The alpha’s hands were fumbling with his own sweater and Jisung realized that they looked like nervous school kids talking to their crushes which was ridiculous. Right? Yes, it was, because there were no crushes going on here. There weren’t!
His inner omega swooning over every move Chan made did NOT help to prove his point. All Jisung could do was holding on to his sweatshirt to make sure his hands wouldn’t do anything stupid.

“You shouldn’t do that. I know, coming from me that sounds hypocritical, but breaks are important. I have gotten so many interventions from the pack because of my workaholic tendencies and slowly they are getting through to me. VERY slowly.”
Both laughed.
“I know what you mean, but producing is just so much fun, how can you stop?”
Chan giggles. “Yep. And there is so much work and somebody has to do it.”
He shrugs his shoulders but Jisung did not like to hear that. “Hey hyung, if you need help with something, anything, tell me and I’ll come to you. I owe you something.”
“No, you don’t. You did not even ask me for help, I wanted to help you. Not that you would owe me something if you had asked me. Asking for help is a good thing.”
Chan nodded and Jisung grinned. “Is that something you talk about in your interventions, too?”
Chan giggled and blushed silghtly. “Yeah.”

The alpha really was adorable and Jisung knew his thoughts were on repeat but Chan just was so cute. The alpha fiddled around with his sweater again and he sounded a bit nervous when he said: “What I wanted to ask you: Maybe you want to eat lunch with me? As friends, of course, I don’t want to make you feel uncomfortable. But I’ve been avoiding the cafeteria and the restaurant too so maybe we can eat together? In my office or yours, whatever you want.”

It made Jisung sad that the drama had influenced Chan this negatively too. And the “friends” remark … his inner omega didn’t know how to feel about it. Jisung was confused too, but for another reason. He was not disappointed like his omega because he knew that that was ridiculous and he didn’t have hopes like that anymore. He didn’t! But why had Chan felt like he needed to clarify that? The alpha had never viewed him as an option for more so why …
Oh. Oh! Of course, Chan had meant friends as opposed to co-workers! That makes so much more sense! Of course Chan did not see him in any category even close to a possible “more-than-friends”. He had thought they were already more than co-workers, but well, now it was clear what they were and that had actually been kinda cute. But why would it make Jisung uncomfortable to eat lunch as co-workers? Because of the rumours? Or maybe because of his track record of embarassing himself infront of Chan? He didn’t know and he did not care right now, because he was friends with Bang Chan now! How cool was that! But maybe he should respond now, he had waited a few seconds too long and Chan started to look worried.

Jisung smiled brightly to make Chan forget about that suspicious pause. “Yes, that sounds great!” Wow, Chan’s smile really was beautiful. “And friends sounds perfect. But don’t you eat with Changbin or Seungmin? I just mean because you’re working in the same building.”
Chan looked nervous again. “I … yeah. Would it make you uncomfortable if they joined us?”
And yep, immediate flashbacks to all the embarassing stuff he had done in front of them. But Jisung shook his head. “No, of course not. As long as they feel comfortable too. I’m happy if they join.”
“Great! Because Felix, Hyunjin and Jeongin join sometimes, too. Minho doesn’t really – wait, you haven’t met Minho, have you? He’s one of our betas – but yeah, he has his own dancing studio and it isn’t near enough for him to join us for lunch, which is sad, but at least Felix and Hyunjin eat with him when they spend the day at his company.”

It was a pleasure seeing Chan talk about his pack mates because his face lit up with a smile and he wiggled around in his chair excitedly. So Jisung ignored the slight sting at the thought of the happy pack, because being jealous did not make sense, and he asked: “Felix and Hyunjin are the blonde ones, right?”
“Yes! They are my other omegas!” Chan looked scared for a moment, but quickly continued. “And they are dancing for Minho’s company, but they work for SKZ too. Sometimes we book Minho’s dancers as dancing coaches or for music videos or performances, but they model for us too and they even recorded some songs here too. But they don’t sing professionally like Seungmin, it’s moreso that we’re having fun in the studio during breaks, but we’ve recorded some really good singles. Oh, and that reminds me! Did you record the song you wrote your first day here?”

Oh, why did the alpha have to remind him of that song? Jisung had stuffed it into his “idea”-drawer immediately after going home that day and he had not taken another look at it because of his embarassment. At least Chan still didn’t know that the song was about him and their first meeting.

“I … no.”

And now Chan looked disappointed and Jisung’s omega screamed at him to make the alpha proud again.
“Awww, why not? It was so good! Do you maybe want my help with it?”

“Yes!”
Oh no, his omega had been way faster than him. What should he do know? Maybe he could act like he had a stroke? Or … short-term amnesia? Jisung groaned internly, before giving up the schemes and accepting the situation. Apparently he would not only show Chan the song, but record it infront of him and Chan would help him produce it and oh no, he just remembered the line about “you can make me kneel anytime, because you make me feel safe”. Wow, that was going to be intense. He should probably just quit and leave the country and never come back and … jep, he was spiraling, he needed to talk to Yuna. Urgently!

“Okay, that’s great!” And again that beautiful smile. “But I think I really need to go now, I need to finish some things before heading home. But I really enjoyed this afternoon, my friend.”
And like that Jisung felt calmer. “I did too, my friend. And thank you again for your help, the songs wouldn’t have turned out that good without you. Thank you, hyung.”
“It’s been a pleasure. See you, Jisung-ah. I’ll write you an e-mail about lunch and about the recording session. Or can I ask Binnie for your number?”
The thought of the other alpha made Jisung blush slightly, especially thinking about his jacket that still was in his room. Not in his nest anymore, but he had not been able to convince his omega to at least hang it outside somewhere. It was the first thing he looked at when he woke up and it for sure had not helped with his longing for the pack. But now that he was friends (!) with Chan, it would probably be weird to keep it infront of his bed on his chair. He’d have to think about that.

“Yeah, sure. I’ll wait for your text then, Chan-hyung. Can’t wait.”
Both of them smiled like idiots, waved a last time at each other and then Chan carefully moved the chair they had used as a barricade and closed the door behind him. Jisung buried his head in his hands and let out a half giggle and half frustrated groan. He was friends with Bang Chan! Oh my, his inner fanboy, his omega and he himself were all freaking out. That had been the greatest afternoon of all time, better than any date he had ever been on! Not that it had been a date, it was work and they were just friends. No, not JUST friends, being friends is enough. Right? Neither the omega nor the fanboy agreed but Jisung did not want to worry about that. He was going to call Yoona now and tell her EVERYHTING that had happened and then he would go home and tell her everything again. And probably another time, just to be sure she had understood everything and that he hadn’t forgotten something. Oh, he had to tell her about the dimples!

Wow. He actually did not feel sad right now. He had kinda forgotten what not being sad felt like. It was nice. He couldn’t wait to see Chan again. His friend (nothing more! Shut up, inner omega!), the genius producer and respectful and hot alpha Bang Chan. This would be great. And not at all tricky, it was not like his omega still had the wildest and most unrealistic fantasies about Chan and the pack, not only horny ones (although there were many) but even happy-ever-after-ones. Well, it would pass eventually. Right?

Chapter 10: Group chat

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Chan: Hey my loves. How was your day? Who has time for lunch tomorrow?
Chan: Guess who just came back from working with Jisung-ah all day long? :D
Chan: And guess who said yes to eating lunch together???

Felix: Oh my god

Hyunjin: what?!!!
Hyunjin: We’re going on a date?!
Hyunjin: I’m not ready for this! What should I wear?! Lino-hyung, can you cook us something??
Hyunjin: I actually am SO ready for this!! Aojdvnowbdvubr!!

Chan: NOT A DATE!

Minho: Of course I'll cook sth

Hyunjin: Felix!! We need to get the presents back and wrap them up nicely this time
Hyunjin: What??!
Hyunjin: What do you mean NOT A DATE?!

Seungmin: If it’s not a date, what is it then? And yes, I’m free tomorrow over lunch time.

Hyunjin: What DO you MeAn??
Hyunjin: Tipe faster!!

Chan: Jisung and I decided to be friends today. And because of all the drama he ate lunch alone the last week, so I invited him to our lunches.

Hyunjin: Friends?!

Changbin: Aw, poor baby, eating alone

Jeongin: being friends doesn’t work

Hyunjin: hell no

Chan: Being friends is what he wants and I for one am simply glad that he doesn’t hate me anymore. We won’t pressure him. So who is free tomorrow?

Hyunjin: don’t think I can handle to be rejected again.
Hyunjin: I can’t be just friends with him. I can’t do it.

Changbin: same

Hyunjin: I just want to kiss him and cuddle

Jeongin: same.

Seungmin: You don’t wanna see him again?

Hyunjin: How can you say that? Of course I do! But if he really wants to be just friends, I’d make him uncomfortable.

Minho: I think I can handle it.

Chan: It’s eating lunch together, Lino. And I already told him that you work somewhere else.

Minho: I could still come. I could have some important business at SKZ for all he knows.

Seungmin: Sorry Jinnie, didn’t mean it like that. Should have known you only want the best for him

Chan: That would be a bit suspicious so short term. Next time?

Minho: Ok, but I finally want to meet the little troublemaker too.

Chan: He’s not a troublemaker

Minho: But he attracts an awful lot of it.

Felix: I can do it.
Felix: Go to lunch tomorrow, I mean

Chan: That’s not his fault!
Chan: Lixie, that’s great :D

Seungmin: Me too. It won’t be easy but it’s okay, I won’t make him uncomfortable or anything.

Hyunjin: I did not actually mean uncomfortable like I would do something, but I don’t think I can look or act in a platonic way

Minho: Didn’t say it was his fault, calm down hyung

Seungmin: I know what you mean, Jinnie, don't worry

Felix: I just hope he wears scent blockers or else this is going to be HARD

Seungmin: yeah

Changbin: Who is hard?

Seungmin: stop being horny, this is serious

Jeongin: He’s been like this all day, maybe his rut comes earlier this time

Hyunjin: But just to be clear, we still want him to become part of the pack, right?

Changbin: Of course, baby.
Changbin: And no, don’t think it’s the rut, I just miss my babies, the start of the week’s been busy

Chan: NO!
Chan: About the adding him to the pack thing
Chan: At least not right now, we should be glad he wants to even be friends, we can’t ruin this again.

Hyunjin: But hyung, being friends won’t be enough
Hyunjin: How could anyone be around him and not want to kiss him? Or make him ours?

Chan: No. If he thinks we’re doing this just to get him into bed with us, he’ll run again.

Jeongin: Shouldn’t he want to get into bed with us too? Doesn’t he feel the same attraction?

Seungmin: He should, yeah, but we can’t know 100%

Jeongin: Because I still do and I met him only once

Hyunjin: Maybe I feel this big of an attraction and longing because I can’t see him?

Chan: Jinnie, you said you don’t want to see him! You’re welcome to come as long as you control yourself
Chan: And we won’t pursue anything in that direction until we get a sign or permission from him.

Hyunjin: Okay, maybe I’ll come, but not tomorrow, I’ll need to prepare mentally for that
Hyunjin: And yeah, okay, sure. But this SUCKS.

Changbin: True. And not in a good way.

Seungmin: I’m rolling my eyes so hard right now.

Felix: Yeah, sorry hyung, but that was bad.

Changbin: I can make it up to you by sucking in a GOOD way ;)

Seungmin: STOOOOOOOP

Chan: Kids, focus. So you okay with me texting Jisung that Seungie, Lix and I are having lunch tomorrow in my office and he’s welcome to come?

Hyunjin: yeah

Changbin: of course, hyung, and if Hyunie thinks he can meet Jisung-ah, I think I can too.

Jeongin: Me too
Jeongin: Eventually, not right now, if he didn’t wear scent blockers or something like that I would basically be torturing myself

Chan: Yeah okay, but let’s play it safe tomorrow with two people that can control themselves 100%

Changbin: Sounds fair

Jeongin: 👍

Changbin: but to come back to the important stuff: nobody wants to be sucked in a good way?

Seungmin: He’s terrible. A disgrace. How could I have ever fallen for a pig like this?
Seungmin: But yeah, tomorrow’s good. What time?

Changbin: Are you calling me a pig right now? I can’t believe the disrespect

Jeongin: piggie-hyung lol

Chanbin: oh, another brat! I am being DISCRIMINATED and DSIRESPECTED in my OWN pack’s groupchat!!!

Felix: piggie-hyung sounds really cute, I’m changing how I saved you in my phone now

Seungmin: hahahahahahah you’re doomed

Chan: I’ll text you the time when I talked with Jisung. Lix, you okay with tomorrow too?

Changbin: I’m being BULLIED!!

Felix: Yeah, am excited to see him again

Changbin: Don’t you DARE tell Jisung about the pig thing!

Seungmin: Oh my GOD! I did not think of that! I can tell Jisung everything I want, he doesn’t really know you yet! Ohohoho, the POSSIBILITIES!

Felix: lololol

Changbin: HYUUUNG! Stoop him

Chan: Good, I’ve texted him now

Seungmin: stop me yourself if you can
Seungmin: piggie-hyung

Minho: Hyung, when are you coming home?? It’s already 7:30

Chan: I still need to finish some things. Don’t wait up

Felix: Don’t work too late hyung

Minho: did you lay back all your work to help Jisung?

Chan: Don’t worry, I’ll be finished in an hour or two
Chan: or maybe three
Chan: and yeah, but it was worth it. Working with him was so much fun! He is SO talented! And maybe we’ll even record a song together soon.
Chan: You need to help me convince him tomorrow!

Minho: I’m glad you had fun but really, don’t work late tonight, promise me you’ll come home.
Minho: hyung?
Minho: If you dare to sleep in that dumb armchair again, you’re not getting any home-made meals for a WEEK!
Minho: You know it fucks up your spine and neck and you don’t want to walk like a grandpa tomorrow during the date, right?
Minho: Right?!

Chan: Yeah okay, I’ll come home.
Chan: Btw, where did the troublemakers go?

Felix: Jeongin came in earlier, snatched Hyunjin off the bed

Minho: Yeah, they and Binnie came into our room, I’ll sleep with you tonight, Lixie
Minho: Binnie had Minnie pressed against the bed before I was even out of the room

Felix: 👍
Felix: Hyung, come to us when you come home, k?

Minho: Yeah, don’t sleep alone

Chan: Don’t wanna wake you up though :(

Minho: then don’t come home that late

Felix: Yeah, I can already hear Hyunjin
Felix: Can we have some fun too tonight?

Chan: Why don’t you join the others?

Felix: Because maybe the thought of hyung and me waiting for you will motivate you to come home earlier.

Minho: oh yes, I’ll make sure he’s ready for you when you come home

Chan: my god
Chan: guys, I can’t concentrate with that image in my head!

Minho: Good

Felix: then come home
Felix: need you

Chan: you’re evil.
Chan: both of you
Chan: Okay, I’ll be home in about an hour, I’ll just finish one really really important thingie.

Felix: 👍🔥

Minho: 👍😉

Chan: And YES!!
Chan: Jisung said he’ll come tomorrow
Chan: does it work at 12:30 for you, Lixie?

Felix: Works perfectly and Seungmin should be free until 2 pm too

Chan: good

Minho: see you soon. Right?

Chan: how can you sound threatening over text?

Minho: Because one week of home made meals is on the line, so get your ass over here

Chan: okay okay, 90 minutes

Felix: starting NOW. And we WILL start now ;)

Notes:

I wanted to try something out, so don't worry, this work will not turn into a texting fic.

Chapter 11: Lunch date #1

Summary:

Chan, Felix, Seungmin and Jisung have a lunch date.

Chapter Text

"Okay. I am Han Jisung and I will have lunch with Chan, Seungmin and Felix and it will go well and I will not embarass myself. Yes."

Jisung nodded at his reflection in the bathroom mirror. He was SO FUCKING nervous. He knew it wasn't a date and he would basically just meet the pack mates of a new found friend and his former boss but ... Well, they were also the men whose courting offer he had rejected. Arrrrgjjjhh!!!!! Why did this memory come up right now?? It was 12:25, so he had five minutes to calm down. He just had successfully banned all memories about the pack members from his brain but his omega had other ideas and bombarded him with pictures of all the handsome men and how he hurt them and how he should make it up to them. Which alternated between cuddling them until nobody could move anymore or sex until … well, the same.
Fuck it. He pressed his palm against the mirror and nodded again, appreciating his outfit that Yuna had helped him put together. He looked cute without looking like he put effort into it which he really didn’t, he didn’t want to treat this like anything more than it was. It wasn’t a date. So he just wore a simple blue shirt and black jeans. Casual.

He would crush this lunch! Yes. Yes, he would. He would be charming and they would love him and he would love them and they would be friends and that wouldn’t be hard at all. Because why would it be hard to spend an hour with three of the most attractive men he had ever met? People his omega had pined over since meeting them? Everything would be perfectly fine and fun. Yes.

"Okay. Let's go. Fighting!"
He gave his reflection a fist bump and the victory sign. "Woo!"

He then jumped up and down, let out a deep breath and exited the bathroom halfway between his and Chan's offices.
"Woah! Hi!"

It was Felix. Why was Felix here? Oh, yeah, their lunch. But why was he here and not in Chan's office where Jisung was mentally prepared to meet him? He was not ready. And he especially wasn't ready for Felix georgous sunshine smile. The blonde omega’s eyes sparkled and he wore a low-cut sweater that showed his three mating marks. Above it was a cute light blue bow he wore instead of a collar. Attached to it Jisung could see a pendant that probably showed their pack symbol. Jisung felt himself gaping, quickly closed his mouth and smiled back.

"Hi."
"Hi!” Felix’s smile broadened and he gave Jisung’s shoulder a light tap. Cute. “I just need to use the bathroom for a second, one of Chan's singers ate something bad for breakfast and his bathroom isn't usable anymore."
"Ugh."
"Yeah, sorry. TMI, right? But I'll be quick, so you wanna wait for me for a second?"
Wow, Jisung has not gotten used to the deep voice yet. The contrast between Felix's sweet face and deep vibration was so hot. But he wouldn't think about that.

"Okay, yeah. I'll ..."
He pointed awkardly to the opposite wall and Felix gave him a thumbs up. Jisung took two steps until he stood there and looked up and down the hall to make sure nobody's coming to use the bathroom. Thankfully Felix really was fast and when he closed the door behind him Jisung immediately felt more at ease. The other omega jumped up excitetely and took Jisung’s shirt's sleeve to slightly drag him in the direction of Chan's office.
He could feel the other omega’s excitement and felt a smile burst out, being infected by Felix’s happiness. They did not really stop when they reached Chan’s door and instead Felix burst it open and called out: “I found Jisung!”
Chan and Seungmin were sitting on the couch and the small table infront of it was filled with a variety of food that made Jisung’s mouth water instantely. This didn’t look like a normal work lunch, more like a picnic. If this was what the pack members ate on a regular basis, Jisung was happy for them. Somebody looked after them. And he was especially happy that he could join them today.
The alpha and the beta looked up and Jisung couldn’t smell either of the three men which was sad, yes, but at least that would prevent him from doing something really stupid. Because his omega wanted to jump them just by looking at them, so he was glad there was not more temptation than just their faces and bodies and how hot they looked and simultaniously really cute but HOT and …
“Hi.”

Jisung tried to bow while Felix dragged him to the table and tripped over his own feet but thankfully Felix catched him with an arm around his waist and held him up.
“Careful, Lixie.”
Felix’s arm stayed while Jisung bowed slightly and when he looked back up, the other two men smiled at them.
“Chan-hyung, Seungmin-ah. It’s nice to see you again.”
Chan stood up and bowed too. “It’s nice to see you too, Jisung-ah.”
“Doesn’t he look cute?”
Jisung needed a few seconds to realize that Felix was talking about him and when he did, he blushed and bowed again, this time to hide his face.

“Please sit down, all three of you. I’m hungry.”
Seungmin had already put some food from one of the countainers on the plate in front of him. “Please take whatever and however much you want. Minho-hyung made enough for all of us and it’s really good, so I’m sure you’ll like it.”
“Thank you.”
Felix reluctantly let go of Jisung’s waist as the two omegas sat down on the couch opposite of Chan and Seungmin. Jisung was taking his first bite, when Seungmin said: “And yes, you do look cute. Do you have a new haircut?”
Jisung tried to simultaneously swallow his bite and not to die from a cough and/or from embarassement. He tried his hardest to not let his cheeks get the same colour as the strawberries on a small plate to the side. Probably dessert.
“No … I think I just washed my hair.”
Felix snickered. “Whatever it is, you look beautiful.”

And there was the sunshine smile again. It was so bright but he didn’t feel like he’d be blinded by it, moreso like he could soak up all the warmth Felix was emitting. The omega made him feel at ease, even if the situation had made him a bit insecure.
“Guys.”
Chan just looked at them and Jisung saw how they actually dialed it back by not looking at him as intensively now and instead concentrating on the food. But now Chan was looking at him.

“Did you think about when you want to record the song?”
Oh. Oh no. The song. Why did he have to bring it up now? Apparently Felix and Seungmin knew about it, too?
“Yes! Channie-hyung told us how talented you are, you two absolutely need to record something together!”
Did the whole pack know about the song? Jisung could never ever allow anybody other than Chan to hear the song (and Chan only because he apparently didn’t realize what or rather who the song was about but Jisung didn’t think all the pack members would be this dense). They looked at him as if they actually would be disappointed if the recording session wouldn’t happen and he knew he could never disappoint them (again) so he nodded.
“Erm yeah … maybe next week?”
“Yes!” Chan looked so happy that Jisung felt kinda guilty about not being as excited. Well, he was excited about working with the genius producer again, he just wished it could be another project. Maybe he could bring something else? Chan surely didn’t remember the exact lyrics, right?
“What about next Wednesday?”
Jisung nodded shyly. “Okay.”

“Yes, nice, I’m excited!” Chan put his arm around Seungmin, pressing the beta to his side and gave him a kiss on the cheek which made Felix giggle. But then Seungmin started jumping up and down and Chan had a hard time holding on to his energetic beta. The way the alpha smiled fondly at his pack mate made Jisung feel the warm feeling again.
Seungmin said: “Jisung, can we record something together too? Hyung, you and me or just us two? I’m in between comebacks at the moment but if we work well together, maybe you can help produce some tracks on my next album?”
Wow, producing for Seungmin? One of the best and most famous singers of their generation? “I … yes! Of course, that would be so cool!”
Seungmin’s smile was so beautiful.
“Uh, me too! I want to record something with Jisung too!”

Felix’s arm was around Jisung’s waist again and his free hand took Jisung’s hand that wasn’t fumbling with the chopsticks. Jisung nodded automatically, not quite being able to process the close physical contact they had now. “Of course, yeah, it would be such an honor to work with all of you. Chan said you’re just singing for fun, is that right? You’re a dancer?”
“Yes! And I sometimes record intros and outros for songs if they need a deep voice, that’s always fun.”
The contrast between Felix’s voice and his visuals was beautiful and as a producer Jisung really wanted to work with that sexy deep voice of his. And he had heard Seungmin in recordings before, he knew how angelic he sounded. Wow, Chan’s mates really were not only beautiful and fucking hot, but talented too.
“Yes, I’m sure we’ll make something cool!”

Felix’s arm felt hot around him and Jisung made sure not to squirm around on the couch, because obviously the other omega was somebody that just shared a lot of physical contact with others. He should not be affected by this. He was glad he had the food to concentrate on, so Felix’s hands felt less intense. Jisung ate extra carefully because he could use only one hand and didn’t want to move much to not lose Felix’s warmth. He didn’t want to let the omega think that he needed both of his hands because he obviously didn’t.
Felix’s skin was really soft, he caressed it with his thumb, just slightly, a few millimeters back and forth, nothing too suspicious. And while he did it, he concentrated on his food, just to take a glance on Felix after a few seconds and see the other omega smile at him. Jisung felt his cheeks heaten up a bit when he felt light pressure on his palm.

Quickly he looked at Chan, scared of seeing the alpha angry because of the close proximity he had with his pack mate, one of his omegas. He knew how possessive some alphas got, even towards other omegas, and even if Chan didn’t seem like the type, he knew of situations that escalated because of way less physical contact. So even if he didn’t expect aggression, he was sure that Chan would at least be a bit annoyed by it, but that wasn’t the case. Chan looked … happy? And it wasn’t a happy look that obscured annoyance, it wasn’t a smile that hid jealousy or anger, it was just … happiness. He smiled at them, his eyes lingered on their entangled fingers before stuffing his mouth full of food again. Chan … liked … seeing him with his pack mate like this? What did that mean?

“So … you met everybody except Minho-hyung, right?”
“Hmm?” Jisung was a bit distracted. One one side were Felix’s warm fingers that had started to slowly caress his palm and play with fingers and on the other side was the food (that was delicious btw!) but he quickly catched up to Seungmin’s question. Which came with a lot of embarassing and sad memories. Maybe Felix sensed that Jisung wanted to retract his hand because he took it even firmer and held it tightly now. Jisung forced his arm to relax, he wanted to feel Felix’s caresses again.
“Yes.” Jisung nodded. “I …”
Seeing his downcast look, the three pack members shared a worried look. Seungmin spoke up again. “You made quite an impression, you know?”
Felix felt a tremble go threw Jisung’s slumped figure.
“I … I am really sorry if I hurt or offended anyone with my behaviour.”

He withdrew his hand from Felix’s and pulled at his pants’s fabric.
“Please don’t apologize.” Chan said it like he meant it and Jisung felt tears waiting to fall.
“Yeah, no, it was our fault.”
Felix placed his hand over Jisung’s and started caressing the back of his hand, effectively calming the omega down. He warily looked up again and when he saw their worried looks he felt bad for causing them concern again. Chan’s hand twitched in their direction but he took Seungmin’s hand in his instead.
“All of that is a thing of the past now. Right? Let’s concentrate on our cute lunch date for now, okay? No wait, not lunch date. Lunch meeting.”

The way Seungmin looked at Chan and obviously judged the akward way his pack alpha had just said that, extracted a laughter out of Jisung and he turned his hand around to feel Felix playing with his fingers again.
“Lunch meeting? Seriously? Way to make it akward, hyung.”

Chan looked embarassed and when Jisung tried to surpress his laughter, it just broke out more. He hid behing his free hand and soon heard Felix's cute giggle as well as Seungmin's loud belly laughter. Even Chan started to giggle now and Jisung started to feel warm. Not physically, rather emotionally. After cutting himself off of all emotions to protect himself from getting hurt again, he now felt free. He felt happy. And he started to be hopeful. Chan might think that Jisung could never ever fit in his pack, but … maybe that could be changed? Could it be changed? Could Jisung change it? Felix's hands around him made him think he could. Seungmin's laughter and the way Chan looked at him and Felix, as if they belonged together, did as well.

They chatted lightly the rest of the hour and Felix made him record two tiktok trends with him which was a lot of fun. Then Chan showed them what he had been working on and hell, it was GOOD! Of course it was good, but Jisung got surprised again and again at just how talented their alpha was and how hard-working. After the heart-warming time he had just spend with them he didn’t even want to stop his omega’s intrusive thoughts.
Yes, he wasn’t over Chan. Or the other pack members. He still felt the same longing he did on day one, only worse because he actually started to get to know the pack members now and with everything he learned he wanted them more. The more time he spent with them the more he wanted to be with them. So what if … there existed a way he could? He needed to talk to Yuna. She would help him.
An idea formed in his head.

“Jisung?”
He looked to the three handsome men on the couches again, he had lost himself in his thoughts.
“Yeah? Sorry.”
“I just thought that maybe you could be an inspiration to Chan-hyung to actually leave the office at somewhat reasonable times, even if none of the pack members are here to drag him home with us.”
Chan looked embarassed now which was a really cute look on him and Jisung had a feeling that Seungmin probably wanted to provoke that look regularly.
Felix giggled. “Yeah, so we don’t have to bribe him again.”
Jisung laughed at that and at how Chan’s cheeks turned red. “You bribe him? With food or what?”

“Erm …” Felix and Chan looked at each other and blushed. Seungmin started laughing and pointed at them. Chan groaned and when Seungmin looked like he wanted to say something, he actually tackled him and pressed a hand over his mouth. Which he quickly regretted when Seungmin licked it and Chan, disgusted, wiped it clean on the beta’s sweater. Seungmin giggled, sat up and when he again opened his mouth to speak, Chan was on him again, this time kissing him to shut him up and that worked a lot better than his earlier strategy, because Seungmin looked like he didn’t remember what they had even been talking about when he was released five seconds later.
Wow. Jisung was hyper-aware of his breathing, of Felix’s hands on his body and how it easy it would be for the three men to pin him on the coach and shut him up too. That kiss had looked really good, were all pack members that great kissers? He wanted to find out. Seungmin still looked a bit out of it and Jisung wanted to experience the same. And he wanted to make somebody experience the same, for example small Felix here. What would it take to make Felix look like that?
Jisung forced his mind away from these thoughts and instead looked at Chan who pointed at the strawberries. Apparently it was dessert time now.

Jisung needed to talk with somebody about his idea and that somebody was Yuna. His best friend he had relied on so much during the last weeks, his pillar, his voice of reason. If the idea was stupid or too much of a risk, she would tell him. So he sat on his bed, having dragged her from her pack’s appartment to his bedroom, and held her hands.
“So … I had lunch with Chan, Felix and Seungmin today.”
Yuna smiled. “I know. We texted about it. Only a few hours ago. You said, and I quote, ‘They are so cute I think my heart will fall out and so hot my pants will fall off’.”
“Yeah. But you can tease me about that later, right now I need your advice.”
Yuna put her serious-business-face on and nodded. “Okay. Shoot.”

“So. I was thinking. I know this contradicts everything I’ve been saying these last weeks. But.” He took a deep breath and then let it out in one big rush. “I want to try to make it up to the pack so they forgive me – they said there is nothing to forgive but there certainly is – and maybe they’ll think of me as a potential mate again or – for Chan at least – as a potential mate at all. That’s dumb, right? Hopeless and stupid and …”
“Shut up.”
Jisung did. Yuna thought for a few seconds, then asked: “So you want to become a part of Chan's pack?”
“Yes. I know it might be delusional but ...”
“And you got the feeling they might like you, too?”
“I dont know, maybe I interpreted it completely wrong and I dont want to ruin everything again so …”
“But you have the feeling?”
“Yes.” Jisung nodded. “Yes, I do. Maybe I’m wrong, but they kinda flirted with me today? Maybe?”
Yuna smiled. “Does your omega still want them?”
“Yes, it can’t shut up about them really!”
“Then i might have an idea.”
“So you think mine is dumb?”
Yuna flicked his forehead. “No, come on Sungie. Don’t be ridiculous. My idea will hopefully speed your idea along a bit.”
“Really? Then please, I take everything.”
“It is a bit unconventional, a bit untraditional, but I think it might work.”
Yuna looked nervous now and it was rare to see that on her so Jisung soon felt the same.
“Yuna? What is it?”

She pressed his hand tightly and said: “What if you take initiative? What if you start courting Chan and the pack?”
Jisung’s jaw dropped open. “What?”
“Well, maybe not courting. I don’t mean an official courting offer. I mean small gestures and gifts to test the waters. To show him and the pack that you’re interested.”
“I can do that? I’ve never heard of an omega doing that. What if he hates it?”
“I haven’t either, but the rules are starting to become outdated anyway and I don’t think a traditional pack would fit you. But your omega needs to feel comfortable doing it too.”
So Jisung closed his eyes and concentrated on what his omega wanted, but he wouldn’t have needed to do that because it screamed at the top of it’s lungs to just do it, show his readiness to be Chan’s and the pack’s mate and to please indulge Chan a bit. To give the alpha everything he could ask for and more.
“It’s on board.”

“Good.” Yuna finally smiled and she pressed a kiss on Jisung’s forehead. “Then let’s go shopping. You need small gifts and a breath-taking outfit that shows them what they’re missing.”
“But nothing too obvious, right?”
“No, no, don’t worry. Just a bit showing off your neck here, a bit of your tiny waist there, your beautiful face will do the rest. And by the way, you remember when we talked about our flirting strategies?”
“First of all, you make me blush, so stop it. Secondly, yeah kinda, I was pretty drunk then. Why?”
“Well, I still remember you saying that you sometimes use your oral fixation to your advantage and it drives guys crazy. I think it wouldn’t be a bad idea using that too.”
A grin started forming on Jisung’s face. He loved Yuna so much. He came to her with a loose idea and now he had a solid plan. And while he didn’t know if he wouldn’t loose confidence about the flirting tactic when actually being near the pack mates, he mentally added a few items to the shopping list.
His confidence was coming back. Let’s go!

Chapter 12: Lunch date #2

Summary:

Jisung has a lunch date with Chan, Seungmin and Minho. He tries his plan out.

Chapter Text

“Damn.”
“Too much?”
“Hell no. You look so fucking hot.”
Yuna stood behind Jisung and both looked into the mirror of his closet’s door. Jisung grinned. He did look fucking hot. He wore a wide white shirt that showed all of his neck (expect the part where the black collar was) and nearly slipped of his right shoulder. To tie the loose fabric together he had lend a thin black corset from Yuna that made his waist look slim and his best friend had stated that it just wanted one to clasp one’s hands around to see how narrow it really was. Perfect for a tight grip that every alpha (or person) should want to have on him and he wanted some men in particular to wish for that.

For pants Jisung had chosen leather. They were TIGHT and it had been a struggle getting into them but the effort was absolutely worth it, because my guy, his thighs and ass looked fire. He was satisfied that his body finally showed how much he had been working out because even though omegas never built the same amount of muscle mass as alphas, he FILLED those pants OUT. And if Yuna was anything to go by, it made people want to smack his ass (she had done it every opportunity she had gotten) so Jisung would make sure to show whatever pack members he would encounter that day his backside a few times. Maybe he could pick some stuff up from the floor? We’d see.

“You packed stuff to suck on?”
“Yuna!” Jisung blushed. “Please don’t call it that, it makes me sound like a whore.”
Her raised eyebrows made him blush even more.
“Hey!”
“Well …” She put her arms around his waist and put her head on his exposed shoulder. “If you wouldn’t be such a couch potato you’d probably be one.”
Jisung hid behind his fingers and giggled. She wasn’t wrong.
“So … did you pack the stuff?”
“… yeah.”

Jisung looked up and examined his face now. He didn’t know if he actually had the courage to play around with the pens and the lollipos he packed but, just in case, he hadn’t put any lipgloss or lipstick on. He didn’t want to make everything sticky and he didn’t have a smudge-proof one (but it already was on his list for the next shopping trip). But he (or rather Yuna) had applied some subtle eye-shadow and just a tiny bit mascara to give his eyes a bedroom look.
He really did look hot as fuck, now he just needed to be a bit less nervous and get his confidence up for the look to be actually effective.
“Good. So who are you gonna have lunch with today again?”
Jisung smiled. “Chan of course. Minho has something to do at SKZ today so he’ll probably join us too. I’ll finally meet him! And Seungmin.”
“I really can’t believe you’ll seduce some of the most successful and most famous men in the city.”
Jisung had not thought about it like that. Was this really a good idea? What if …
“Stop thinking, you know I didn’t mean it like that. I meant: Good for you, you finally met some nice people that will hopefully treat you like the king you are. And if they don’t … we’ll think of an evil plan to make them pay.”
Jisung giggled. “You’re great.”

Yuna hugged him tighter. “How are you feeling? Honestly.”
Jisung leaned back into her. “Good. Well, nervous. But also excited? I think I can judge by their reactions whether this idea will work or not. Because if they don’t show any – or a negative reaction – I know it’s hopeless and will try to be just friends. This time for real.”
Yuna kissed his shoulder and said: “That won’t happen. And if it does, if they don’t react to you in THIS outfit, something is seriously wrong with them and they don’t deserve you anyway.” She went to her purse and took something out. “But I thought of something else. I know you still want to apply the scent blockers – and I think that’s the right decision – but I found this perfume that smells a bit like your honey smell, so maybe … do you want to put on a bit?”
Jisung turned around and wow, the boots with a small heel really make a difference in his height. He nodded and turned his head to the side so Yuna could apply the scent.
“Show them, hot stuff.”

How Jisung managed to make work while thinking about his lunch date the entire time was beyond him, but he did. He finished another song for FLOWER’s album and their manager seemed to regain some trust in his work which made Jisung happy. It was dumb that he had to regain the trust in the first place, but he still was relieved that he did.
Then it was 11:55 and Jisung closed his programs to go to Chan’s office (their lunch started at 12 today). He took a small gift he had bought for the pack from his bag, reapplied some of the honey-scented perfume, checked himself in his phone’s selfie camera and yes, he still looked hot, so he went on his way. The corridor to the alpha’s office seemed to be simultaneously the longest and the shortest he had ever walked and soon he stood in front of the door. Oh, this door had seen a lot. But no, he wouldn’t think of that, this is a new start and now HE was in control. Right? Right. Yes.
He collected his thoughts, chanelled his inner seducer and knocked. He expected Chan and well, it wasn’t the alpha that opened the door. Fuck. It was a man but he was way more than the word “man” could ever describe. He was a masterpiece. Rationally, Jisung knew that this had to be Minho, Chan’s beta mate, but the only thing entering his mind right now was: Oh fuck, oh no, HOT! Wow, the thighs, who made that face legal, WHAT the FUCK?! The plan? Cancelled. He couldn’t do this.

“Fuck”, the man in front of him breathed while staring at him.
Minho’s face looked like a work of fucking Michelangelo but it was Jisung that froze like a statue and let the gift fall out of his hands. Minho, until this moment busy staring Jisung up and down, not knowing where to concentrate his look at because all of him looked delicious, felt his instincts activate and he fell down to one knee to catch the small package just before it hit the floor.
When he looked up, he wasn’t sure If he was actually awake because the sight of Jisung in THAT outfit, standing over him and looking like the hottest person he had ever laid eyes on, it was surreal. Their eye contact became more and more intense by the second, then Minho slowly stood up. He held the gift out and when Jisung’s hands moved to take it, their hands touched and he felt an electric spark course through his body.
“Thank you”, he breathed.
“You’re welcome.” Minho’s tongue darted out to wet his lips. “Jisung-ah.”

And then Minho breathed in for the first time since opening the door and he smelled something. It couldn’t be Jisung’s smell, it wasn’t the smell of an omega, but still … he smelled honey. And Chan had told him that Jisung smelled like honey, so where was this coming from? He glanced down at the exposed scent gland and Jisung’s beautiful, muscular shoulders and took a step closer for a better sniff.
Jisung stepped back and was pushed against another body. He looked back and it was Chan, whose eyes were fixed on his neck, hands automatically gripping his waist. Being cornered by the two men made Jisung whimper, he wanted them to take him. Forget his plan, forget everything, he would have let them take him right here, right now, against the door frame or against Chan’s body. He WANTED.

“Ehm guys? What’s going on?”
And Chan was gone, as soon as he heard Seungmin’s voice he remembered everything he had promised himself, everything he had wanted to avoid to not lose Jisung again and took five steps back until he hit the wall opposite his office door. He had just gone to get a drink from the communal fridge and come back, seeing Jisung in that outfit there. He wanted to see where Minho was, and to get a better look at Jisung and his neck (and ass) when he suddenly had the omega pressed up against him.
Jisung turned around now to face Seungmin and Chan and the alpha looked at Minho over Jisung’s (beautiful, naked, delicious, bare, muscular) shoulder and his beta’s pupils got even more dilated when his eyes found Jisung’s ass. Those leather pants really were a work from heaven. Or rather hell, because this omega wasn’t theirs and they weren’t allowed to touch him. Minho’s fingers twitched. Oh, if this omega were his, he wouldn’t take his hands off that ass all day long. Work? Didn’t care. Who needed food? Or sleep? Let him worship that beautiful backside and he would die as a happy man.

“Seungmin, Chan-hyung.”
Jisung bowed and both of them gulped upon seeing even more of his shoulder and torso revealed. The omega’s skin basically begged to be worshiped, the neck wanted to be marked up and Chan felt Seungmin’s hand in his, giving him a warning squeeze. Then Jisung turned around and Minho’s eyes darted up to his face really quick, but not quick enough for Jisung not to notice. He felt his confidence return. When Chan looked at Seungmin, the beta nodded with a wide grin and stuck his tongue out for a moment. Oh, that little minx. He may have defused the situation but that didn’t mean he wasn’t affected too. Chan’s eyes transfixed on the itty bitty waist infront of him and the urge to see how much of it he could cover with his hands grew by the second. And then his eyes dropped and he gulped. Oh no, they were in trouble. That was one biteable piece of ass. Oh my, and then Jisung slightly bowed again, and the shirt fell down a few centimeters more and fuck, so much fucking skin on display. What had he done to deserve this? He shouldn’t think like this about his friend, because they had just become friends (again?), but the unmarked scent gland under the black collar was calling him.

“And you are Minho?”
“I …” Minho looked at Chan for a second and the beta’s desperate look did not help Chan calm down. Then he looked back at Jisung, trying to keep his eyes focused on his face. Not so Chan and Seungmin, Jisung didn’t see them and they tried to take in as much as they could see from the angel in front of them before he turned around again.
“Yes, I’m Minho. Please call me hyung. And you …” Minho’s eyes wandered down Jisung’s body and he licked his lips when seeing the corset hugging Jisung’s waist and even more upon seeing the PANTS again. “… you must be Jisung.”
Jisung grinned now. After the initial shock because of Minho’s face, he realized that his plan was working nearly TOO well. He nearly giggled, but bowed instead (making Chan groan internally) and said: “Pleasure to meet you. I hope you are well. You prepared the food we ate yesterday, right? It was delicious, thank you very much for that.” He bowed again to show his gratidute (and his neck and scent glands of course) and was that a tint of red he saw in Chan’s eyes when he stood up and turned around again? Jisung felt giddy and he surpressed a wide grin. So Chan DID find him attractive? And Minho apparently did too. Well, this did start of well.

Except … okay, he had not considered a massive side effect of this plan. Having three men eyeing him up and down, devouring him with their eyes and fighting for control made his omega want to present for them nicely, preferably with his ass in the air. He really, really couldn’t get wet now, he coulnd’t scare Chan away again. But no, that wouldn’t happen. He wouldn’t be surprised anymore, all of them wore scent blockers and now HE had control. Nobody could lose confidence in an outfit like this. He just needed to stay focused and calm down a bit. No problem. He could do that. Totally.
Seungmin smiled at him and said: “Come on now, let’s eat!”
He took Jisung’s hand and tugged him to one of the couches. “I’m sitting with Jisung today!”
Jisung smiled, both glad and a bit disappointed that Seungmin didn’t seem affected as much. He looked at the man beside him and no, Seungmin clearly was checking him out, one hand even patting his thighs. So … why was he so put-together? Only when Jisung saw Chan’s and Minho’s thankful looks to the beta when they sat down, it occurred to him: Seungmin had quickly assessed the situation and defused it in a safe and inconspicuous way so nobody did anything they would regret later. While Jisung was thankful for that, his omega wasn’t. It would much rather be ruined on Chan’s office’s floor right now. But well, another time. (‘No! Stop it! And stop thinking about that!’ Jisung shouted at his omega while looking at the food in front of him.)

"Oh Lino, that looks amazing! Can we dig in? I had dance practice all morning and I'm starving."
Chan looks up from his plate, frowning. "Don't they let you rest? Who's your trainer again? If you don't get enough breaks I'll talk to Binnie and we'll make sure you're transferred to somebody else."
Seungmin smiles. "Thanks babe, but that's not necessary. I get my breaks and she's a good trainer, it's just a new routine which is always hard."
Chan still looked on edge.
Minho: "Is she one of mine?"
"I dont think so."
Seungmin smiled at them and stuffed the first bite in his mouth.

"Ah yes, you have a dance company?"
Jisung put a bite into his mouth and then really LOOKED at Minho's face. The beta had sat down with his legs spread wide, his delicious thighs on display. He leaned forward and interlaced his fingers in front of his mouth. Jisung gulped and automatically spread his legs bit, wetting his dry lips with a swipe of his tongue, bumbing against the chopsticks that were still hanging out of his mouth. Minho looked at the motion and his mouth corners twitched.
"Yes. Do you dance?" He looked down Jisung's body appreciatevely and smiled dangerously. "You look like you know how to move."
Their eye contact prolonged, the chopsticks still shoved halfway into Jisung’s mouth, until Chan's hand clasped down on Minho's thigh (oh my god those thighs!!) as a warning. Jisung didn't know whether to be relieved or disappointed again. He avoided looking at Minho for now, but the feeling of his look on him made him feel on fire. He closed his mouth around the chopsticks and slowly, slowly pulled them out. He felt all of their eyes on the motion and couldn’t help the grin while getting his next bite. Chan’s hand was frozen between his plate and his mouth and his eyes widened. Jisung repeated the motion one more time, looking directly at Chan this time, before deciding to not stretch his luck and the other’s sanities.

Seungmin recovered the fastest: "What's that?"
The beta looked at the small gift that Jisung still held on his lap. "I went shopping yesterday with Yuna - she's my best friend - and I found something that I thought all of you might like ... maybe."
"You got us a gift?"
All of them looked so surpised (really cute) and the sexual tension relaxed a bit.
"Oh Sungie, you didn't have to."
Chan put his chopsticks down. Minho was silent but looked at him with thousands of thoughts in his eyes.
"It's just a small gesture to thank you for the lunch ... meetings. And for the food." Jisung giggled.
He looked at the three men and gave it to Chan. It wasn’t a courting gift and if it were, there were no rules for an omega who did the gifting (because he had never heard of that happening), so Jisung just did the polite thing and let the pack alpha have the honours. Chan smiled gently and then, carefully, he opened the package. It really was just a gesture, Jisung didn’t want to start too big on the first try, so Chan took a small sculpture out. All of them stared at it, looking at the red and blue glass skulpture that was formed like an abstract heart.
“It’s beautiful.”

Minho held his hand out and Chan gave the gift to his pack mate.
Jisung tried not to be distracted by their hands and said: “You can take it apart, if you want.”
Minho studied it more carefully now. Jisung had immediately known that this was the right thing to buy when he had laid eyes on it because …
“It is made out of eight pieces, and each of them has their own unique shape, and when you put them together, you get this heart. It is a bit of a puzzle first, but when you know how it works, it becomes really simple.”
Minho smiled when the first piece slid out. He gave it Chan who examined the small glass that looked a bit like a walnut. Seungmin’s hand tensed on Jisung’s thigh and the omega smiled. They seemed to like the gift or were at least fascinated by it.
“So this is just for lunch?”, Seungmin asked and smiled knowingly at the omega. He ran his hand up and down Jisung’s thigh and grinned when the omega inhaled sharply.
“Ye … yes.”
“That’s really nice of you. Isn’t he such a nice omega, hyungs?”
And boom, both of the men on the other couch looked at him again. Their eyes darkened and Jisung exhaled shakily.
“Yes. Yes, he is.”

Minho smiled and the way he made it look so dangerous … why was it so hot? Both the beta and the alpha leaned forward, both putting their pieces of the sculpture on the table. The composure they had regained before seemed to slowly drain from them again and Jisung sniffed the air, his omega frustrated that he wasn’t able to smell his mates. ‘Not yet’, he whispered to it. ‘They’re not our mates yet.’ He saw Chan mirroring him, his nostrils widened and then his eyes did the same when he got a whiff of the honey perfume. Seungmin leaned into his side and his voice was nearly a whisper.
“It is a beautiful gift. Thank you, Jisungie. We’ll make sure to give it a special place at our home.”
Wow, it was a lot. He didn’t know where to look, all three of them coming closer, not taking their eyes off him, he felt phantom touches all over his body and he grew hotter and hotter. He felt his shirt sliding down further and revealing more of his shoulder which made Chan’s mouth widen in a silent growl. Jisung’s body shook a bit and he felt so hot, so incredibly hot and then he felt it. Slick. Again.
“Bathroom. Go. I need.”
He jumped up, shook Seungmin’s hands off, slid his shirt back up on his shoulder and ran out of the office. Behind him he heard a growl and a hand smacking something. Somebody?

Chan slowly came back to his senses and he felt the growl die down. “You can let go of me, I got this.”
“You sure?” Both his betas had their arms around his body, Seungmin even was on his back and held his arms down.
“Yeah. I’m sorry, so so sorry, I was overwhelmed. Do you think he hates me again?”
He sank down on the floor, no clue on how he had gotten half way to the door. Well, he had a solid guess but really didn’t want to think about losing his control again.
Minho laughed. “Oh no, Jisung surely doesn’t hate you.”
They had sunken down with him and Chan felt Seungmin’s smile against his scent gland.
“Baby, he wants you. I’d say all three of us, actually.”
“Wha- … no, we said we wanted to be just friends and I’ll respect that. We all will.”
He emphazised the last sentence and Minho and Seungmin exchanged a that-fucking-idiot-look.
“Listen hyung, I really don’t think that’s what he wants. He looked like he wanted to jump us.”
“But he didn’t. He ran away. Probably because three men he doesn’t want pressured him and it looked like WE wanted to jump HIM.”
“No. Listen. It maybe got a bit much, but that doesn’t mean, he didn’t want it. But I am sorry too.” Seungmin hugged his alpha from behind and felt his muscles relax a bit. “I shouldn’t have provoked him. Or you two, considering the lack of control all of you seem to have. But he just gifted us something! And I got a bit carried away. I’m sorry.”

“It’s okay, baby.” Chan turned around and kissed his mate. Apology accepted.
Minho stomped on the floor. “The way he dressed today … hyung, you don’t dress that way for a FRIEND!”
Chan stood up and leaned against the table. When he noticed his erection, he sighed. “Let’s not assume stuff like that. Maybe he just wanted to dress like that for himself. He probably did. And then we took advantage of it and made him uncomfortable!”
“Stop it.” Seungmin walked up to him and put his arms on around his waist. “Seriously. That’s not what happened. You saw him as well as we did. He didn’t look uncomfortable, not in the least.”
Minho joined their hug and pressed a kiss on both of their cheeks. “Listen hyung. I think it’s admirable that you want to make sure and want the best for all of us and want to protect everybody. And of course we can’t assume Jisung’s feelings, but I think you’re doing that as well.”
Chan closed his arms around them and cursed the “always-wear-scent-blockers-when-encountering-Jisung-rule”.

“I don’t want to lose him again.” He heard his mate’s inhales that signalized they got ready to protest and he quickly spoke: “And I know we’ll need to talk. But not right now and not until all the pack is ready.”
“I don’t think anybody would hesitate when …”
“And that includes me.”
Now they really looked at their leader and realized how insecure Chan really was about Jisung. His shoulders were slumped down and he looked at them pleadingly.
“Okay.”
Minho nodded and pressed himself closer, tightening the hug. Seungmin hesitated only for a second.
“Okay hyung, but we really need to talk about it with the whole pack.”
“Of course.” He kissed both of them softly. “I love you.”
“I love you.” Minho and Seungmin answered at the same time.

Jisung was back in the bathroom, having just cleaned himself up and now he stood infront of the mirror. His posture was similar to yesterday, but now he wasn’t nervous. He smiled. He was confident and judging by what had just happened, his plan fucking WORKED.
“Nice. Let’s rock this.”
He had needed to get out of there because he wouldn’t seduce them to actually do anything before being asked to be courted. He knew it wasn’t nice to work them up and run like he had done, but at the same time they had each other and four other pack mates to satisfy them when they went home. They would survive it. And soon (maybe, hopefully) he could let out all this horny energy with some breathtaking and body-destroying sex as well. An omega could hope.
“Let’s go back, finish this meal normally and finish the delicious food. You can finish the men off another day.”
He looked at himself in all his glory and nodded. He would get that courting offer, one way or another, he would make sure of that.

When he returned, they sat back down and avoided the topic of what nearly just happened. The food was delicious, Minho made sure his pack mates always ate good food. It was the beta in him, caring for his pack. Normally he had more composure, more control over himself. But seeing this omega, this hot, breath-taking and ready-to-be-railed omega with those fucking THIGHS and that ASS and WAIST, devour his food like he wanted him to devour his dick (or ass, player’s choice), filled him with a burning desire. He understood what Hyunjin had meant with maybe wanting Jisung more because he didn’t get to see him. Minho had always loved the forbidden fruit and having his pack alpha basically cock-blocking him (even though he respected his decision and wish), keeping him from an omega that obviously wanted them too, it was turning him on. So that Thursday evening, Jeongin forced him to tell him everything he wanted to do to Jisung and when Hyunjin joined them, all of them let their frustration out. They showed their bruises off proudly at the late dinner. Minho knew he provoked Chan, he wanted to. And if the moans that filled their house that night were any indication, their pack alpha needed to take out some frustration too. Oh, Minho couldn’t wait for Jisung to join them. And even if Chan wasn’t ready for that yet, Minho didn’t have any doubt that Jisung joining them was only a matter of time.

Chapter 13: Lunch date #3

Summary:

Jisung's lunch date with Changbin, Hyunjin and Jeongin goes differently than expected

(btw, this chapter is not my best writing, so just be warned. The last few weeks were a bit stressful and I wanted to finally post this update because it's been sitting on my laptop for too long and I can't do better right now. Will probably edit a few things in the future.)

Chapter Text

Hyunjin was exciiiiiiteeed!!! Today … today was Friday. And today he would see Jisung again! Yeeees, he knew he had said that he wasn’t ready to see Jisung if the omega only wanted to be friends but 1) Hyunjin was 100% sure that the omega wanted more, especially after what Minho told him last night and 2) even if he wanted to be just friends, Hyunjin just wants to see the other omega again. And the reason why Hyunjin is even part of the lunch date today, is because Changbin offered Chan to invite Jisung in his place to give Chan a few days to think about everything without a (delicious) distraction. And Chan didn’t want to just not invite Jisung to lunch to not send him the wrong message. When they texted Jisung he asked if Chan was okay and because Changbin despises lying above all else he forced Chan to work from home so he could tell Jisung exactly that. Of course that still wasn’t reaaaaally telling the truth but nobody would tell Changbin that.

Jisung was on board to meet them in the restaurant on the 17th floor. And that’s where Hyunjin was headed at the moment. Because Changbin and he had made a pact two days earlier, after the breathtaking sex they had had after Chan had told them Jisung would have lunch with the pack from now on. They made a pact that if and when one of them would join the lunch dates, the other would go to. Out of horny solidarity. Innie joined the pact too, so it was the three of them plus Felix and Jisung today. And Felix came to “keep all your horny asses at least a bit under control”. Hyunjin would find that funny if he didn’t think they needed him to do exactly that.

He didn’t know what his horny ass would do if Jisung showed up in the same mouthwatering outfit that was described by Minho and Seungmin yesterday. They had lunch in the restaurant and not in Changbin’s office because of course they would never do anything without the pack’s (and Jisung’s) consent, but it was a way to keep them more in check. And Jisung too. Hyunjin didn’t know for sure but he would bet his latest art piece (a beautiful portrait of Minho) that Jisung knew exactly what he was doing.
Hyunjin was late. He knew Changbin and Innie had already arrived because his alphas had texted him earlier and he was sure that Jisung was already at the table too. Chan had told him that the other omega had always been punctual. Felix was stuck in traffic but had texted that he would arrive as soon as possible. When he entered the restaurant he saw his alphas and Jisung sitting at a table in the back. Hyunjin smiled brightly, ignoring the whispers that followed him when he approached the three handsome men.

“Hyung!” There was a bit of sweat on Jeongin’s temple and he seemed immensly relieved to see the omega.
“Hey!”
He leaned down to hug Jisung and that was when he noticed it.

His eyes nearly fell out and he took a quick glance at Changbin to see how the alpha was handling it. Judging by the way his arms flexed he probably helt Jeongin’s hand tightly and Hyunjin was glad the alpha had something to hold on to because Jisung was fucking wearing Changbin’s jacket!! What was the omega thinking?! His outfit from the day before – as far as Minho had described it – could theoretically, potentially, actually be just something Jisung wore for himself because he wanted to feel sexy. Hyunjin would get that, he often wore sexy outfits just for fun and for himself (you would never hear him complain about his pack members absolutely derailing him on those days though). But this could not be excused as something like this. Wearing an alpha’s clothing? Especially an mated alpha’s clothing? From somebody you were not courted from? And doing it to a date with said alpha and his mates? That’s not something an omega did. Hyunjin couldn’t hide his shocked expression and Jisung fucking giggled. That little shit.

Changbin really looked like he was barely holding it together and Jisung looked in every direction except their’s. The baby alpha’s control did slowly improve but an open message like that was hard to resist for everybody. Hyunjin looked back at the omega below him who was still smirking and he knew he shouldn’t. He knew it was a bad idea, especially here. But hell, if Jisung wanted to have some fun, Hyunjin would deliver.
He moved from his frozen position over Jisung down to give him a tight hug, making sure to brush against his scent gland with his lips. Immediately the other omega froze and Hyunjin felt a shiver coursing through him. The shaking exhale against his own ear wasn't lost on him either.

“Hyu … Hyunjin. Nice to see you again.”
Hyunjin smirked against Jisung’s neck and he was sure the other omega could feel it. He stayed in this position just a few seconds longer than appropriate, then he stood up again and seated himself in the chair beside Jisung’s.
“So, Jisung. How have you been?”
He was satisfied to see a slight blush on the beautiful man’s face. Jisung hesitated briefly before a challenge flashed on his face and he smirked.
“I’ve been good, thank you.” Jisung extended his hand to brush a strand of hair out of Hyunjin’s face and the feather-light touch gave Hyunjin goosebumps. “I hope you’ve stayed well, too.”
Hyunjin’s head moved against his will to nestle into Jisung’s hand but he catched himself immediately and sat up straight again. “I did.”

Jisung took his hand back and Hyunjin tried to not miss the physical contact immediately. “Did you order already?”
“No.”
It was the first thing Changbin had said since Hyunjin had arrived and wow, his voice sounded hot. The low gravel could rival Felix’s and Hyunjin pressed his legs together. Well, maybe the restaurant had not been a good idea after all. From the corner of his eyes he saw Jisung subtly do the same and it was satisfying seeing the omega’s composure crumble.

Hyunjin’s eyes stayed on Changbin and he noticed his arms – gosh, those arms! No, don’t think about his arms! – flex again, but this time it was not to calm himself down, it rather seemed that he needed to keep a hold on Jeongin and that’s when Hyunjin noticed how his youngest alpha and pack mate tried to keep it together. His eyes were pressed close and he pushed back in the chair as if he needed to get away from them. Oh no, oh shit. As hot as Jeongin’s struggle to keep control could be at home where he was in a safe environment, here it was not. Not only would it set them back with Jisung if something happened, that was the lesser concern now. Jeongin would never forgive himself for losing control even if all of them had said over and over again that it was normal to take a bit longer for his instincts to fully settle it, he would still blame himself endlessly. Additionally, it could cause a painful HR investigation because they were at Changbin’s workplace still. Shit.

Hyunjin’s desire died down immediately and he pushed his chair back, nearly making it topple over. He gripped Jisung’s sleeve and dragged him up. “Come with me for a second.”
When they were a few meters away from the table Hyunjin looked back and was relieved when he saw Jeongin already being more relaxed and Changbin holding his hand normally now, quietly talking to the baby alpha, helping him subdue his instinct to rail Jisung on the table in the middle of the restaurant.

Hyunjin did not slow down until they arrived at one of the nearest toilets and locked the door behind them. Jisung asked: “What’s going on? Is everything alright?”
“What’s going on?! You seriously ask that? What the fuck is your problem?!”
He walked around Jisung to stand on the opposite wall, needing some space.
“What?!” Jisung stepped nearer and he looked angry, but there was hurt underneath.
“Do you like to torture us? Are you some mad sadist?”
“What the fuck? What did I do?”

Hyunjin wouldn’t back down so he stepped up to the other omega and towered over him.
“You nearly made Jeongin, our baby alpha and one of the loves of my life, lose control in the middle of a restaurant in Binnie’s company! Do you know what that would have done to him?”
“What?” Jisung stepped back but Hyunjin followed him, not letting him escape. “What do you …”
“And of course Binnie would have holden him back, but you make it as difficult as possible for him. What were you thinking?!”
“I didn’t want to cause any trouble. I … I didn’t think …” Jisung’s lip started quivering and Hyunjin needed to force himself to not back down immediately. He needed to say this, this was about Jisung’s own safety too, after all.

“Oh really? Did you wear Changbin’s jacket for fun or what?”
“I …”
“Or do you get off of teasing us? Of dangling what we want in front of our noses while you know we can’t take it?”
Jisung’s eyes became bigger and bigger and his mouth plopped open. “What you … want?”, he whispered.
“…”
Hyunjin just looked at him while Jisung’s mouth opened and closed, opened and closed, opened and: “Why can’t you take it?”
Hyunjin blinked. “What?”
“I mean I know I’ve been terrible and was embarassing and inappropriate and everything, but if you want me, why don’t give me a second chance?”
“Oh my god!” Hyunjin pressed his hands on his face before dramatically pointing at Jisung. “I knew it! You want us!”

Jisung just stared at him. “You … you guys didn’t know that?”
Was he falling in love with a group of complete idiots? Judging by Hyunjin’s face he was. But by looking at his face, he also knew there was no turning back. He laughed. “Of fucking course I want you! You didn’t figure that out?!”

Hyunjin laughed now too and closed the distance between them. He took Jisung’s face in his hands and whispered: “Some of us did but our pack alpha can be really really dumb sometimes and he needs your words as directly as possible. And we promised him to not do anything because he doesn’t want to lose you so I can’t kiss you right now even though it’s what I want to do more than everything I’ve ever done or ever could do.”
There lips were only a whisper apart and Jisung’s knees were weak.

“Chan … likes … me?”

Hyunjin nodded which brought his lips even nearer to Jisung’s and all the omega wanted was to sink into the blond omega’s arms and stay there but suddenly a knock interrupted them.
“… guys? It’s okay, you can come back. Are you okay?”

It was Changbin’s voice and Hyunjin only let go of Jisung’s face with one hand to open the bathroom door. Only when the other man entered did he look away from the beautiful omega in front of him.
“Alpha. He wants us.”

Changbin looked between them and quickly closed the door behind him. “You … you do?”
Jisung smiled and Hyunjin streched his arm out to pull his alpha closer.
“Yeah.” There was a quiver in Jisung’s voice now. “You do too?”
He was hopeful and still there was some doubt. Changbin laughed and Hyunjin was forced to take a step back when he picked Jisung up and spun him around once before carefully putting him down again. “How could I not, beautiful? I will never get the image of you wearing my jacket out of my head, one day I want it to be the only thing you wear.”

“Hyung!”
“We need to tell Chan about this! Oh, you should know how often he moaned your name in the last weeks.”
A delicious smell filled the small bathroom stall and all three inhaled deeply. Hyunjin had to hold Jisung up because the omega's knees weakened. The blond omega exclaimed: “Hyung! Get out. Now!”

Feeling his alpha’s protest to be bossed around by an omega, Changbin forced himself to take a step back. He knew he needed to leave, the smell of Jisung’s slick was making him lose control, but his omegas clearly needed him and going away went against everything he wanted and needed. Finally Jisung was becoming his too, but he wasn’t yet, he didn’t smell like him and the only thing that calmed Changbin down was the sight of his jacket on the omega. Jisung was marked by it and it made Changbin proud, calmed his alpha down enough to turn around. Still, he clenched his fists and quickly exited the room, closing the door behind him. Nobody was allowed to smell the omega except him. Him and his pack.
He leaned against the wall on the other side of the bathroom and tried his hardest to not glare at every one of his employees who walked past. He managed to look neutral for the most part, but failed every time an alpha without scent surpressor walked past. And than somebody walked up to him that always made him smile.

“Felix!”
“Changbin! What are you doing here?”
The blond omega jumped up to him and kissed his cheek. Changbin finally started to relax and he embraced Felix. He whispered into the omega’s ear: “He wants us.”
Felix tensed and he moved back, carefully taking Changbin’s face into his hands. “Hyung. Even if he wore nothing to the lunch date, we can’t just assume …”
“He told us.”
Changbin kissed Felix as hard as he could and the omega felt the alpha’s smile on his lips.
“He did?”
“Yes. Yes! He’s in there and talking with Hyunjin, there was a slick incident again. I said a few things I probably shouldn’t have but I just couldn’t resist because he fucking WANTS us!”

Felix smiled now too, the beautiful sunshine smile that always managed to lighten up Changbin’s days. “He wants us.”
Changbin kissed him again, ignoring a curious employee’s eyes.
“What exactly did he say? Tell me everything!”
And Changbin was about to when he felt his phone vibrate. He wanted to ignore it but something told him he shouldn’t and when he opened it, he was glad he didn’t. Hyunjin had sent a picture in the pack’s group chat and it was beautiful. He and Jisung were squishing their faces together, both having teary eyes and at the same time the most georgous smiles on their faces.

Hyunjin: GUYS!
Hyunjin: YES, THIS MEANS WHAT YOU THINK IT MEANS
Hyunjin: EXCEPT CHAN, IT’S NOT WHAT YOU THINK, IT’S THE OTHER, GOOD THING!!!
Hyunjin: PACK MEETING AS SOON AS POSSIBLE
Hyunjin: I’M TAKING JISUNG HOME WITH ME
Hyunjin: WHEN WILL YOU ALL BE HOME??

Felix read along on his alpha’s phone and smiled. “Is this real?”
The alpha pressed a kiss on Felix’ forehead and nodded. “I’m taking all of you home now. I don’t care, I’ll cancel all my meetings and I’m sure all the others will do the same.”
Several messages arrived in the group chat and confirmed him. “We’ll talk about everything with Jisung and he’ll have to tell Chan and the rest what he told us and then we can finally start everything the right way.”
He saw tears forming in Felix’ eyes and smiled. “You happy?”
The omega pressed himself against Changbin’s shirt and nodded. “I didn’t think this would happen. I have to text Minho to get the courtship presents ready and everything.”
The alpha laughed quietly, wanting to assure his mate, but then the bathroom door opened and suddenly Changbin’s arms were full with three omegas; Hyunjin had dragged Jisung along with him. They still had so, so much to talk about, but everything would work out now, Changbin was sure of it. Now he only needed to get his three omegas and their baby alpha into his car and drive everybody home safely so they could tell the whole pack about it. His omegas. His omega. Finally.
