Psychic No More?

Summary:

When Saiki Kusuo wakes up to silence, a dreadful feeling of unease settles in his stomach.

This couldn't be right. Atleast one person should be thinking something in the 200 metre limit. So, what happened?

unfinished/dropped

Hiya, this is my first ao3 fanfic, so enjoy! Remember, my work is good–grammar–guaranteed!

Chapter Text

When Saiki woke up to pure silence, he knew something was wrong.

A dreadful feeling of unease settled in his stomach as he slowly sat up cross legged on his bed. Gripping the covers, he gazed outside his window. The bright morning sky greeted the boy, like any other 'usual' day.

'This must be a precognition.' Shaking his head, he sighed. His stare from the glass didn't waver. He couldn't help but feel a little light because of the peace and quiet. 'This is taking quite a while, isn't it?' Normally, these dreams are quite short.

Kusuo was barely able to finish his thought when his father, out of breath, opened the door suddenly. He jumped, his heart nearly escaping from his chest.

"Wha? Don't act all scared, Kusuo. Anyway," Saiki felt as if he knew where this was going, but his mind was racing with too many question to care. By 'too many', he had only 2. But, he usually didn't need to ask any questions in his day to day life, as he already knew the answer to many things thanks to his abilities, "Your father's running a bit late, may you kindly telepo–"

'No.' He said telepathically, removing his hand from his calming heart. He got out of his bed. He didn't look him in the eye, though. His glasses weren't on, and frankly, he didn't want to deal with a stone statue today.

Strange, he should be able to read Mr. Saiki's annoying thoughts, but he isn't? If this was a precognitive dream, he shouldn't be able to talk to anyone.

"C'mon Kusuo!" His pleaded. He didn't answer this time, bringing out his school uniform for the day. It was Monday. The start of another tedious week with the idiots.

'Get out. Let me change.'

Sweatdropping, he complied, head hung low, muttering how he was going to get fired ,for sure, this time. While Saiki changed, his subconscious ate at his thoughts. Something is not right, with his powers at least.

Maybe, that's not the only thing that will go wrong in the following weeks.

Chapter 2: What is going on?

Summary:

Alright, I've lost my powers. I mean, that was pretty obvious. But, what is going on?

Chapter Text

"Kusuo, please!" No. Let me eat my coffee jelly in peace, "I–"

"No, now stop bothering me." Yare yare, if he keeps begging me like that he's going to waste even more time, "Are you going to sit there like a dog or are you going to try make it to work in time?" From the corner of my eye, I saw him furrow his eyebrows in defeat.

Finally, he left the house. To be honest, I should get going too, right after my jelly.

Once I was done, I teleported to the school. I made sure that I wouldn't be seen using clairvoyance. The day was going somewhat normally— well, as normal as a day could possibly be for a psychic. However, there was something that wouldn't get out of my mind. What happened to my powers in the morning?

I mean, I was able to teleport etc., and my previous powers have returned, like seeing through things. So, was that a one time thing?

"Hey, buddy!" I kept walking. I hoped I wouldn't have to deal with anyone's antics today, let alone Nendou's, but that was just wishful thinking. Those idiots can't leave me alone for a day.

"I didn't see you on the way here— wanna get some ramen?" What. Ramen? School literally starts in two minutes, and we're in the classroom. Could he be any more stupid? Now, that, I could answer: Yes.

Notes:

Sorry this was a little short, ontop of the amount of time you had to wait for it.

I have no excuse but this: I got into a fight 😭. She literally deserved it though. Anyway, she was hospitalised and I broke some of my fingers.

Hope you enjoyed this chapter!
