Chapter Text

Sunday came as William's "last day".

By the time Enid woke up, Wednesday was already gone, she asked Everyone, but they kept a tight lip about his whereabouts. Saddened by the lack of Wednesday, she decided to hang around the quad with Yoko and try to distract herself. Enid watched as a gathering of students 'mourned' for the leave of "William."

They offered Black balloons, Portraits, stuffed animals and a few homemade plushies in front of a makeshift shrine.

Enid can hear faint whimpers from where they're sitting.

Students who have lost their sense of direction, questioning what they will do from now on, not knowing where He came from or where He will go next. The Man didn't even have a social media account, for god's sake. He was a fever dream, and their only proof that the week happened are photos of him.

"How did Weems approve this?" Enid wondered, it felt weird being here and seeing Wednesday's face in a shrine

"I heard the name list in the petition's too long Weems never stand a chance." Yoko gossiped

"And Why are we here exactly?"

"Business, my friend." Yoko proudly stated, pulling out stacks of Wednesday's unreleased photos

"Bitc– are you making me sell my Boyfriend's photos to strangers?!"

"Yes? "

"No! " Enid stood up and tried to leave.

"20%", Yoko offered, causing Enid to stop.

Enid counter offered, looking back, intrigued, "50/50"

Yoko scoffed. "No. I took the photos I deserved more, 30/70, and I'll send you every, and I mean EVERY, soft copy I have on Wednesday."

"Deal. Can't believe I'm doing this shit," Enid muttered, snatching the photos from Yoko's hand and walking away.

"Thank you, Babes!"

To say they made a ton was an understatement, and Enid has no words for it. If 30% was many, how much did Yoko earn with 70%?

Enid can't do the math right now and is too tired. The students turned from grieving widows to a pack of Hyenas when she mentioned what she was selling.

But she'll remember to squeeze every penny Yoko earned by making her pay for food when they go out.

"Wednesday?" Enid called out, closing the door behind her

"Oui, Mon Loup?" Wednesday responded from Enid's side of the room.

"Where have you been?" Enid found him sitting in her bed in his casual clothes, a striped shirt similar to Pugleys, a Leather jacket, black jeans and his boots.

"I had Errands to do, and you? You looked exhausted."

"Mhm. I went to your so-called funeral."

"I've always wanted to see my own funeral, shame. Does... This means– Enid, I was hoping to invite you somewhere, but if you're exhausted, I do not mind. We can stay in." Wednesday said, shooting her a sympathetic look

Enid shook her head fast, her vision spinning. "No! I'm not tired! Give me 20 minutes to change!" She answered enthusiastically

Wednesday let out a relieved smile. "My love, take your time. I will still be here."

Enid dashed out to the door.

When Wednesday said he'd take her somewhere, she expected a date in the crypt or town. But they were walking on the other side of the forest, farther than where they used to go.

Wednesday guided her by the hand, and Enid watched him, her eyes transfixed on their hands intertwined together, how his calloused hands made from years of Cello and sword practices felt perfectly against her soft skin.

Not realizing they had reached their destination, Wednesday halted and stepped aside to reveal Enid the view.

In the middle of the forest were a clearing and a small pond. Only the full moon, stars and fireflies illuminate their surroundings.

It was magical

Wednesday took her by the hand and walked to the picnic blanket near the lake.

"Wha– How? This was here all this time?" Enid wondered, looking up to Wednesday, more curious than anything

"We found this clearing, During my Exploration with Eugene a month ago. I thought I'd bring you here at a perfect time." He explained, observing the awe on Enid's face

"And you did everything?" Enid sat on the blanket and stared on Wednesday, taking out sets of dishes from the Picnic basket

"Eugene helped with the set-up and the fireflies, but yes, I did everything."

"Even the food?" Enid eyed a stake dish she had only seen in fancy restaurants. The scent caused her mouth to water.

"Indeed, I have permission from Principal Weems to use the Cafeteria kitchen", Wednesday answered, unaware that Enid's mouth was watering now for a different reason.

She can't help to imagine Wednesday, sleeves rolled up, in an apron, cooking for her.

"Enid, I'm afraid a firefly might accidentally enter if you do not close your mouth."

Enid tensed, then relaxed again when she caught Wednesday's teasing smile.

"You'll be back to normal tomorrow?" Enid started under the comfortable silence while watching the stars

Wednesday nodded. "I spoke with my family this morning. They have confirmed We'll be able to return to normal at sunrise."

"And you made this to Celebrate?"

" No, I made everything to give you something to remember once I am back to normal," Wednesday said softly. Enid noticed something in his voice had changed, and something clicked.

"Oh, Wednesday. Are you worried I'd prefer you as that?"

Wednesday goes quiet and stared off at the moon's reflection in the pond's center.

But Enid took the silence as a yes.

Oh, my love, for someone so bright, you're often dampened by your thoughts.

Enid gently touched his cheek.

"Darling, please look at me?" she asked tentatively, her thumbs caressing his cheek.

Wednesday obliged and faced her, sinking to her touch. Something in Enid melted at how Wednesday looked so vulnerable in front of her and only for her.

A face only Enid is allowed to see

"Sometimes you are so silly. I don't care if you are Wednesday or William. I love YOU. Whoever you choose to be, I'll still be hopeless. In love with you, Wednesday Addams."

"I want you, need you, I long for your touches the way you longed for mine in return."

"A simple spell and few changes can't stop that."

"I apologize, Mi Amour, if I scared you" Wednesday grasped her palm on his cheeks and kissed it.

Enid huffed and rolled her eyes. "Good, 'cause even if you ask me if I'll still love you if you become a worm, I'll explain how I'll love you and take care of worm you."

"How romantic of you", Wednesday chuckled, tugging Enid closer for a kiss under the moonlight.

The sun's rays woke Enid from her deep slumber.

This time she didn't care about the time. She caught a glimpse of her asleep Girlfriend nestled up in her arms.

Enid reached for the blanket and covered them both, pulling Wednesday closer.

"I missed you."
