Chapter Text
Class 1-A collectively had a bad feeling about ‘The Teacher Swap’ that was about to take place. Not for 1-B, though maybe Iida and Momo felt a little bad for their sister class, but for the fact they got Vlad King as their teacher. The same Vlad King who doesn’t know the rules of the 1-A dorms, or how to properly handle any given situation that their classmates could end up in.
Examples like Kaminari in the kitchen, people spacing out, therapy week which would start half way into the Teach Swap, or even people getting arrested or people visiting the dorms during the night. He wouldn’t know how to handle the panic attacks or even how to handle the “bad days” that some classmates went through.
They worried just a little for their own safety and well being.
The only saving grace is that Midnight and Present Mic would be able to check in with them, since Vlad King was not allowed in the 1-A Discord chat, where their resident Pro Teachers had access to them.
And their resident Pro Hero Older Brother, since Hawks has been initiated into Class 1-A as of two weeks ago.
“Hello Class 1-A.” The Class stared at the Pro Hero from their seats. They stayed silent, sitting perfectly in their seats and blinking at him. The hero looked unnerved as he looked around at the silent class. “Um… As you know Aizawa and I have swapped classes for the foreseeable month.” He continued, and everyone at once turned their heads towards Midoriya Izuku, worry in their eyes.
“What? Why did you all look at…” He glanced down at the seating chart before back up. He was counting the seats. “Midoriya, right?” He missed the flinch that the green haired teen gave and the glare that half the class gave him.
“Please, sir,” Izuku hesitated as Vlad’s eyes snapped over to him. “Don’t call me Midoriya, it makes me uncomfortable. Izuku is fine.” He swallowed nervously, glancing down and trying not to shift in his seat.
“I don’t make it a habit to call my students by their given name, Midoriya.”
“He broke rule two.” Kaminari gasped lightly, pushing himself back a little bit as he glanced back and over at his boyfriend. Concern on his face as Izuku sat tense in his seat.
“Rule two?” Vlad King asked, confusion coloring his tone.
“We have rules that Aizawa helped us create. Rule Two, Do not call Izuku by his Family Name.” Kirishima responded, also glancing over at Izuku with concern radiating from him. Bakugou was also sitting tense in his seat as he stared at Vlad King.
“The rules are ridiculous.” Everyone gasped, people pushing back in their seats as Kirishima fell silent, glancing down at his desk.
“He broke 4A.” Mina gasped, moving from her seat and going to Kirishima, who at a glance was tearing up.
“4A?”
“The Words-” Iida started but was quickly interrupted by Izuku.
“Useless, Worthless, Geneless and Lave are banned. A. Similarly the words: weak, ridiculous(in reference to the rules) and fragile(calling people that) are also banned.” Izuku recited, helping his classmates not break any of the rules, even in just explaining them, with Izuku around.
“You are not little children, you don’t need rules.”
“Oh now he broke a personal rule.” Sero muttered, still loud enough for the quiet chatter to not have overshadowed him and was still heard by Vlad King. “Personal Rules are rules set in place to protect specific students. You broke one of Tsu’s rules.” He explained before Vlad even had a chance to ask.
“The rules are there for stability for those of us who need it, but most importantly for Tsu.” Bakugou spoke up, the class silenced at the blond’s voice. “The rules are there to protect us.”
“You’re Heroes in Training. You don’t need protection.” Vlad King just about growled out, and everyone noticed that he pinpointed Bakugou as the ‘leader’ of the class. Probably his experience with Monoma.
Izuku pushed himself up, grabbed his back and walked out of the room. It didn’t take long for everyone else to follow suit, barely even a second of hesitation before everyone else was out of the room following the greenette.
They all walked to their dorm unit and congregated in the common room on the first floor. They all had their textbooks, and were all in their P.E. uniforms, surrounding the living room and pulling out textbooks.
“Okay, we will assign people who know a subject best to further our education.” Iida declared, standing near the ‘podium’ that they had created for this exact purpose. They wondered if Aizawa knew their purpose for it, and had allowed it anyway.
Aizawa had even used it a couple of times when he made announcements.
“I… I can cover Math?” Izuku offered, raising his hand hesitantly.
“I got Math, you do English, you're better at it. And I explain it better to Dunce.” Bakugou intercepted and Izuku nodded, just glad that he had something to focus on at all. They were in an A-Week Monday, so they had English in almost 20 minutes.
“I will cover science.” Momo raised her hand, almost hesitant but more confident the more her classmates encouraged her.
“I can cover Modern Lit.” Everyone’s heads snapped towards the entrance to the dorms, where Shinso stood leaning against the frame. Curiosity and amusement dancing in his eyes.
“Hitoshi!” Izuku brightened up, a smile adorning his face as Kaminari perked up from where he had attached himself behind Izuku.
“Hitoshi! Join us! Join us!” Kaminari chanted with him, and Shinso smirked as the class welcomed him in and let him join the almost impromptu cuddle study session; he was also in his P.E. clothing attire.
“Half of Science will be a study hall.” Momo assured the class as well.
“So Math is being covered by Bakugou, English is being covered by Izuku, Science is being covered by Yaomomo, Modern Lit. is being covered by Shinso…” Iida was writing everything on the White Board, including the study hour that Momo had graced them with.
“What about Heroics? We walked out on All Might Saturday.” Kirishima asked, his voice was quiet and any glance at him showed that Bakugou was holding him like a teddy bear.
“Well… We could maybe just do sparring in one of the gyms? Maybe we could fi-”
“Why aren’t any of you in class?” The class flinched in surprise as they looked at the door, finding Aizawa leaning against the frame. It was a lot like how Shinso had entered the impromptu class day.
“Vlad broke three rules in under 2 minutes.” Todoroki said, “He called Izuku by his family name. He called the rules ridiculous, and completely disregarded the rules in entirety.” He explained and Aizawa’s face contorted into a scowl.
“He..” Izuku paused, “He said, and I am quoting this,” he warned his classmates. “He said “You’re Heroes in Training. You don’t need protection.” and then I got up and walked out. Everyone else followed me.”
“And Shinso?” There was barely concealed anger in his voice, and Izuku curled up against Kaminari just a bit more, and Kaminari leaned into Shinso who had his arm wrapped through the blond’s own, hidden from view.
“I felt distress from Izuku.” Shinso responded, and Aizawa sighed as he pinched the bridge of his nose.
“Of course you did.” Aizawa grumbled. “I went to check on the class, because I could feel the distress to find a pissed off Vlad King ranting about the rules.” Aizawa explained, he glared at Izuku whose hands twitched to grab a computer. “ You do not need to hear what he said .”
“I will… Allow this to continue, but only because Shinso was going to transfer into the class at the end of next week. But I’m sure Nezu will be happy to accommodate and move him up now.” Aizawa huffed slightly, “Shinso, you know the rules obviously, and you have your personal ones. And yes, Nezu and I both know you’ve been hero training Shinso alongside your coursework.”
“Are we in trouble?” Izuku asked, hesitant as he grabbed Shinso’s arm. Shinso grabbed his hand and gave a comforting squeeze.
“No. I’m actually proud of your class. But Mic is sad that you’re missing class. In fact most of the teachers are a little bummed about it.” Aizawa explained, “But that gets Vlad the cold shoulder, so I’m not too concerned. Mic will bring your homework for the week, and next week, around lunch time. And yes for all your classes.”
“Now, I would come back to teach you all again, and just cancel the bet. But Nezu says that we have to at least finish out the week cycles. So I will be back in two weeks, if you think you can last that long. If things get better, or you hide your rebelling better, Nezu might extend it to finish out the month.” He explained.
“Good luck, Hell Class.”
“Thanks dad!” Izuku called out before the door closed, a smile on his face.
“Vlad is so dead.” Uraraka muttered, and the class collectively snorted and small pockets of laughter escaped them.
