Chapter Text
Warmth. Soft, tender, comforting warmth, the same warmth he went to sleep in. It felt like an undeserved reward— a feeling of solace he had done nothing to earn. But nonetheless, it was cherished and welcomed, as he cuddled closer to the source. His mind ran slowly; his eyesockets still felt heavy and all he wanted to do was doze in this comforting peace for eternity.
Thin, bony arms wrapped themselves tighter around the warmth, and he buried himself into the soft fabric of a t-shirt and the even softer skin of his companion's neck. Goliath took a deep, slow breath, taking in the very essence of the moment in the hopes he could preserve it forever. The warmth, the feeling of two soft, gentle arms holding him close, the comfort of the blankets around both of them, the sound of quiet, contented breathing, the birds outside, the occasional small rustle of fabric, the smell of cherries and almonds, the light shining in through the windows. A part of him wanted nothing more than to stay here forever— a literal heaven in the mortal realm.
But he knew he would eventually grow bored. He would want to hear his friend's voice, see his face, have breakfast together, and as perfect as this moment was, Goliath knew it would have to end eventually.
Slowly, his eyesockets creaked open, and he nuzzled himself into Abrahm's neck a bit more. He couldn't really help it; it was a comforting place to hide, to forget the stress and worry of life, to be able to just breathe for a while. Abrahm's arms wrapped around Goliath's ribcage a little tighter, and he felt the soft, silky, fluffy white hair fall to help hide his skull as Abrahm snuggled back. A small sound escaped him, and he melted into the embrace even further.
"... 'brahm...?" The skeleton murmured, glancing up towards his companion. No response came, other than a small squeeze, which... probably meant he was still asleep.
"Abrahm, 's past noon, we need t' get up..." The skeleton huffed softly, reluctantly beginning to squirm out of Abrahm's arms–
"Nnfff..."
Almost immediately, all chance of getting up vanished as Goliath felt those soft, gentle arms tighten, pulling him back into a cuddle. He didn't even have it in him to be mildly annoyed by it— he didn't want to leave the embrace, even though he knew he had to. He liked holding Abrahm and being held by him, and loved the comfort in knowing that he was close by and safe and content. The will to get out of bed was being sapped from his body in an instant as he was pulled close; his back flush with his friend's front as his head rested against Goliath's skull.
"Abrahm, c'mon... we have work to do..." The skeleton whined halfheartedly, eyesockets drooping closed as the other snuggled further.
"... 's Saturday... we c'n sleep in a while..." Came the soft, sleepy murmur just to the left of his skull.
"It's Friday, we can snuggle later..."
"Don'chu bullshit me, I know i's Satur'ay 'cause yesterday was 'at meeting... we c'n snuggle 'ight now." Abrahm fussed softly, his voice utterly lacking irritation as he nuzzled deeper into the crook of his companion's neck. Honestly, his memory could be the bane of the skeleton's existence, at times.
Sighing, Goliath shifted a bit, rolling over and cuddling up on top of Abrahm. He laid his skull against his chest— the sound of his heart beating was comforting. The soft, rhythmic pattern lulled him into a state of peaceful dozing, sandwiched between the blankets and his closest and only friend. He moved to sit up a bit to try and get up; Abrahm pulled him back into a hug before he could.
"... 're pretty clingy today..." Goliath chuckled, letting himself be kept close. His companion nuzzled his neck in mute response. Smiling, Goliath melted back into the warmth like butter on toast, eyesockets slipping closed as he nudged his head under Abrahm's chin. He wanted to stay here for eternity, if it was possible.
Unfortunately, eternity didn't last more than an hour or two.
"Abrahm, may I please get up?"
"Mmmff... 'hy?"
"I'm getting hungry, and there's waffles in the freezer calling my name."
Immediately, Abrahm released his companion after giving him one last hug, sitting up gradually as Goliath opened his sockets and stretched.
"... How long did we sleep in?" He asked, lying on his front as he glanced over at the clock.
2:06 P.M.
"Eh, about seven hours total?" Abrahm replied, taking a sip of water and placing the bottle back on the nightstand. "It was almost seven in the morning before we went to sleep, I think."
"Why were we up so late...?" The skeleton mused as he cleaned off his visor, now sat up a bit more.
"You had a nightmare."
Goliath looked over at him as the nadorian tossed his t-shirt into the laundry basket and grabbed a hot pink v neck to match the black slacks he wore now, looking closely at his face for the first time that morning, and saw the mark on his left cheek.
The nightmare.
The fight. He'd punched Abrahm in a panicked frenzy of violence.
The breakdown.
He'd spent hours crying into his best friend's shoulder.
Everything flooded back into his memory, along with the raw, burning remorse of his own actions.
"Hey... You okay?" Abrahm soothed, now seated beside Goliath— one hand curled as his knuckles lightly scratched and caressed Goliath's back. He must have hesitated too long, or let his emotions slip into view on his face, because he was quickly wrapped up in soft, warm arms again.
"It wasn't your fault, Goliath. You were scared, and you didn't mean to. Everything's okay now, I promise." He whispered. Goliath felt himself trembling, slowly reaching one hand up to touch the bruise on his friend's face. It was still red, and looked painful, but Abrahm didn't even flinch— he leaned into the touch, like he trusted Goliath with his life. A poor decision, the skeleton thought. Especially considering–
He was given another hug, a tight one that snapped him from his thoughts with a small, surprised wheeze. Abrahm was always so gentle with him; even when giving him tight squeezes, he still made sure his companion could breathe easily.
"No, no more of that. I've seen that look before. No more self loathing. None of it. If you're going to be insane enough to forgive me, then as the leader of Nadoria, and as your friend, I command that you give yourself some of that same forgiveness." Abrahm said, stern but fond as he cuddled the skeleton close. A part of Goliath immediately started shutting down, just as he always had. It was better not to burden him–
"You can let yourself feel."
... The words from last night echoed in his mind, repeating over and over like a comforting mantra. Now that he thought about it, all the crying from the night before... did help. He felt better, like some of his bottled up emotions had been turned into grenades and set off. It was a relief he'd never really felt before. And he was being encouraged to do so if he had to.
... Maybe Abrahm was right. Maybe he was safer then he thought. Maybe... maybe he truly could let himself feel, for just a little bit.
A tiny sob crept out of his throat as Goliath hid himself in Abrahm's shoulder, slowly letting down his walls and letting himself be vulnerable— letting himself feel for just a few precious moments.
"There you go... there you go... just let it out. Everything's going to be alright. I'll make sure nothing bad happens for a little while. You just let it all out. It's okay..." His friend soothed, holding Goliath close as he cried. The unfamiliar feeling of safety and comfort stroked his back much like Abrahm did, sweeping him into a gentle embrace of security and care and kindness, one he couldn't have even dreamed of months upon years upon decades ago. Something that, if it had been anyone but himself, Goliath would have found incredibly saddening.
This emotional episode didn't last anywhere near as long as the one from the night before did; this one was maybe twenty minutes long at most, but it still helped immensely. He gave a shaky sigh, letting Abrahm wrap a blanket around his shoulders for comfort, before nuzzling into his companion's neck.
"... Abrahm?" Goliath softly spoke.
"Mmm?"
"Thank you... for being here for me, I mean. I appreciate it."
"No problem. I'll always try to be there for you, Goliath. It's the least I can do after everything."
For a split second, he remembered the pitch black eyes, crazed red irises staring at him like a predator would its prey— but the memory was gone as soon as it came, and Goliath carefully examined his face.
... Brilliant, shining turquoise irises floating in white sclerae looked back at him, with soft tints of blue and green giving them an ethereal, jewel-like appearance. Dark orbs sat placidly in the dead center of each, curious and wide, with faint lines in the irises connecting to it. He'd... he'd never seen someone's eyes up close before, but seeing them here, and especially in an almost magical colour? They were downright beautiful. And... hypnotizing, in a way.
"...ath, come in Goliath. Are you alright?"
"Huh? What? What happened?" He asked, looking around a bit frantically.
"You were staring at me for like five minutes, are you okay?" Abrahm questioned, tilting his head as one brow quirked upward. The skeleton blinked once, twice, shaking his head as he forced himself out of his trance.
"Yeah, I'm fine, just... I don't know, I think it's because I haven't eaten." He pondered, now looking over Abrahm's soft, thin, delicate hands, one of which held one of his own calloused, rough, bony hands. Soft, squishy, and they had a faint cherry scent to them, with faint lines around the fingers and well kept nails decorating the gentle appendage.
"...ey, you alright? ... Hello?"
"Huh?"
"You keep zoning out, are you sure you're okay?" The nadorian who was now holding his face asked, worry etched into his thin, angled face as he searched Goliath's eyesockets for answers, boring into him with those brilliant ocean teal gemstones of–
"Goddammit, sorry, I keep getting distracted. It's... yeah, it's probably because I haven't eaten, I apologize." He sighed, as he gently shook himself and glanced away from his friend. Why... why was he finding it so hard to draw himself away from Abrahm...? ... It had to be because he hadn't eaten. He was just out of it.
"Here, don't forget this— I know it's important to you." The nadorian hummed, as he gently tucked a familiar cloak around Goliath's shoulders, fastening the little Iris pin as tenderly as he could. The skeleton held still for him. Even a month after they'd just started following one another to bed, he still wasn't used to such... tender gestures. He always thanked Abrahm, every single time without fail, and did his best to reciprocate.
"... Thank you..." He hummed softly, one hand coming up to tug the fabric around himself a bit more as he slowly rose. Abrahm smiled as he followed suit, letting his companion gently place the red visor on his face with a familiar gentleness he'd learned.
"I can never remember what those two serpents said; do they want us to let them sleep, or do they want to be woken up for breakfast?" The red and white haired leader asked, as Goliath gently helped him with his blazer.
"Woken up. They get grumpy if they don't get to eat several times their body weight for breakfast." He sighed in response, letting Abrahm gently place the familiar green visor around his skull. Goliath blinked softly, as his vision actually became decent, albeit with a green tint.
"I knew they said something about it, I just couldn't remember what exactly." He mused. Goliath looked over him fondly, watching as the nadorian tamed his fuzzy, messy locks of hair into place; he drifted over and began to help, as if completely mesmerized. His hair was so soft... like the gentlest and smoothest of silks. Abrahm smiled a little, as the skeleton helped as best he could with brushing the soft, fuzzy red and long, smooth white.
"Are you feeling better...?" Valentin asked, smiling softly as he did. Goliath nodded slowly. He did... the emotional outbursts had helped. He didn't know how, but it had. Like a weight had been knocked off his shoulders, and he felt lighter. Safer.
"I should probably go get the snakes, before they wake up and get pissed about not having breakfast." He sighed, leaning against his companion.
"Alright. I'll be here when you get back, I promise." Abrahm soothed, placing a gentle hand on his arm— the skin so soft and warm against his rough, sturdy, cold bones.
"Okay... I'll be back in a minute." The skeleton hummed, before pulling himself away from Abrahm reluctantly. At the very least, he was okay. They were okay.
They were going to be okay–
THWACK–!!
"AAAAAGH!!! WHAT THE HELL?!?!?!"
"Goliath?! Are you alright?!"
"DAMN SNAKES!!!"

Chapter Text
Between Abrahm, Goliath, and the use of an animal carrier and a lever/screw/pulley system comprised of the Havok Scythe, some stubborn yarn, Abrahm's sword in its sheath, and Abrahm himself stood on his companion, using his legs to shove them off, it took about twenty minutes to pry both ether serpents off of the poor skeleton and wrestle them into the carrier.
"WHAT THE HELL IS YOUR PROBLEM?!" The particularly miffed vegalian snapped, glaring into the carrier which contained two coils of completely unapologetic ether. As predicted, the shameless slithers of ether were shameless.
Thank you, commander obvious, he thought dryly to himself. Abrahm was still on the floor recovering from a bit of a tumble. The one snake was trying to push its head through the grating. The other stared at him smugly. If they could, he was sure they would have batted their eyes at him. Could they even bat their eyes at him? Could they blink?? Whatever, that didn't matter right now.
"Would you two at least care to explain WHY???"
... There came no response from the serpents. Only more smug and/or annoyed looks, and more attempting to squeeze through the grated door.
"To be fair to them... hff... it is past noon, and they still haven't eaten..." The nadorian sighed, raising one hand up as the other tried to fix his long white hair and short red fluff. The skeleton could only look down at him in disappointment. Yes, thank you, lieutenant even-more-obvious, ran through his mind, seeing the breathless, physically worn man on the floor, fluffy hair slightly disheveled and messy, beautiful electric blue orbs looking up at him curiously-
"-iath, what's wrong?"
... Oh, not again...
"Nothing, just..." The vegalian shook his head and knelt down to offer a hand. "Distracted, I suppose. I've been like this since waking up."
"Maybe they're not the only ones who need something to eat..." Valentin chuckled, accepting the offer and standing up once more, before kneeling down to the two snakes.
"We're going to go get breakfast right now, okay? ... Please don't bite me I'm not food." He squeaked, nervously opening the door as both snakes slid out. One of them almost immediately curled around his arm, its tongue flicking at him casually. The other looked at him expectantly.
"What are we thinking for breakfast, waffles?"
"That was my thought." Goliath hummed, looking down at the snake still on the floor.
"Are you going to climb onto one of us, or-"
[Ssssss.]
"... I'll take that as a no."
Abrahm chuckled at the two, shaking his head as he pet the serpent around his arm.
"Well, come on, we can't keep them waiting too long! I still have some of the rose buds in the fridge, I think." The leader hummed, before starting off to the kitchen, hair bouncing slightly with each step.
Goliath and the snake looked at each other for a moment, shrugged(or did the serpentine equivalent of one), and followed after him quickly- It had been at least an hour and a half since they woke up, they were hungry, they weren't planning to wait much longer for breakfast.
"... What is that?"
"What's what?"
Goliath wordlessly pointed at the weird... contraption on the counter, what he could only describe as a metal pair of jaws with the inside made of two grid-like plates. Abrahm blinked owlishly at him, mixing some kind of dough in a bowl.
"It's a waffle maker? You pour the batter in, close it, wait a bit, and you get waffles." He explained bluntly, before quirking one soft, red eyebrow up. "... Did you guys not have waffle makers on your home world...?"
"Abrahm, I don't even think we had waffles. This... is how they're made?" The skeleton asked, stepping closer curiously, reaching one hand out to tou-
"DON'T-!"
The nadorian immediately tossed the bowl onto the counter and grabbed his skeletal hand, pulling it away from the device with pure, raw fear in his voice. Something Goliath had hoped to never hear again.
"... S-sorry, don't touch it right now, okay? It's hot, I don't... I don't want you burning yourself." He murmured, gently releasing the rough, tensed phalanges; his own hands were shaking a bit. Goliath... didn't really know what to do, other than take his hands again, gently rubbing his knuckles in an attempt to comfort him.
"It's alright, you were just worried. ... Is that how they get made normally? I thought there would have been a special pan for them or something..."
"Y-yeah, technically a waffle maker is just that; a double sided pan with a grid on both sides. The metal plates are hot, which is why I..."
He went silent almost immediately, those bright blue eyes full of something... protective. Sighing, Goliath patted him on the shoulder.
"I appreciate the warning, Abrahm. Don't beat yourself up because you were trying to help, alright?" He hummed, feeling his heart ache in some way as he saw Abrahm's face light up a bit and his shoulders relax.
"... Okay... I'll try." He said softly, nodding as Goliath continued gently tracing his knuckles for a few moments.
Thankfully the bowl hadn't spilled when it was rather unceremoniously tossed onto the counter, and Abrahm was relatively easily able to mix in some chocolate and rose buds before pouring the batter into the device- the mixture sizzling as it touched the burning hot plates- and closing the mechanical maw on it.
"That just needs to cook for a few minutes and we should have waffles ready and waiting." He hummed, setting to work cleaning the bowl.
"Aren't you supposed to use a sponge?" Goliath teased.
"..." Slowly, the nadorian took his batter coated finger out of his mouth, with it now being suspiciously clean. "... It tastes good, leave me to my devices." He grinned, a little bit of a sheepish chuckle escaping him. The skeleton looking at his antics just rolled his eyesockets... somehow.
"Alright, just remember to wash it properly too. That doesn't count as cleaning the bowl."
Abrahm just waved him off playfully. "Yeah, yeah, I got that part, Dovahcom would throw a fit if I didn't use soap and a washcloth."
"I'm pretty sure the disease you get from eating raw batter would do that first, wouldn't it? What was it, salmon-vanilla something?"
"Salmonella, and no, that small of an amount is very unlikely to have it. Plus I haven't gotten sick yet, so I will continue to do stupid shit like this until I do." Valentin chuckled, finishing off the bowl's remains and putting it in the sink to properly wash it. As the water started running, Goliath couldn't help but notice that after putting on the rubber gloves, Valentin just... let his hands rest in the hot water for a bit, shoulders drooping softly as his breathing slowed. As if... restful.
"... You alright?" Goliath whispered, watching as the nadorian almost seemed to melt a bit.
"... Just soothing..."
Goliath blinked. Soothing...? What part, the heat or the water's pressure? Or both? ... He didn't say anything; he just stood beside Abrahm, watching as he let himself relax for a few minutes.
"... You know, I used to do this when I was much younger." The man said with a smile, causing his skeletal companion to look over curiously.
"Hmm?"
"When I was younger, I used to help my mother in the kitchen, measuring ingredients, setting timers, cutting things, but... Well, it's weird- I always was particularly fond of helping to wash dishes."
"Nobody else was?"
"My mother often did most of the work, Jebodiah never came out of his room to help, and my father had work, or was just... corrupted. Something was always satisfying to me about doing it. Washing away so much filth to find a clean, shiny surface beneath. I just... always hated the texture of it. So she got me a pair of gloves to wear when I washed them, and..."
He carefully took a soft rag, putting some soap on it before slowly and gently starting to wash the bowl.
"... Having your arms submerged in a warm pressure, but without anything wet, or some bad feeling gunk, it's... strangely soothing. I can't quite describe it..."
They stayed like that together for several minutes, before Goliath took up a towel and began drying. Working in silent tandem, content in the peace of the afternoon.
"... Wait."
"What's wrong?"
"I forgot something."
The vegalian shrugged plainly.
"If you forgot it, it likely wasn't important."
"This is true." Abrahm hummed, gently scrubbing a spatula clean. Up until a slither of ether plopped right into the sink, glaring angrily and splashing Abrahm and making him jump back with a yelp.
"Wh-what?!"
[Ssss...!]
"..."
After a moment, Abrahm's eyes went wide.
"Oh shit, the waffles!!"
Almost immediately, Abrahm rushed over to the device, pulling up the lid, only to find smoke and burnt waffles. And Goliath, panicking and trying to prevent a fire, grabbed a bowl, scooped up the water in the sink, and threw it on the poor waffle maker.
And everything went wrong.
The sparks and bright orange heat startled Goliath into doing the only thing he could think to do. Which was grab the hot, flaming waffle maker, throw it out the window, grab the fire extinguisher, run outside after it, and spray it until it physically stopped functioning. Whatever was inside could no longer be called waffles. It couldn't even be called charcoal. The poor thing was fried beyond recognition and damaged by almost a two or three story fall, and now in multiple pieces, not to mention having been completely ruined by the foam of the extinguisher.
Well, at the very least, the kitchen wasn't on fire. That fiasco had been prevented. Although the fire alarm was still going off, as Goliath soon heard as he reentered the building.
"Abrahm? I put out the waffle maker, did anything-"
He shut his mouth as soon as he saw the room. The smoke alarm blaring, window still smashed, one snake sitting in the sink, water all over the counter and floor, the other snake in the corner, confused and afraid and evidently overstimulated by the noise, and-
"... rns, no burns, no burns, please, not again, can't do it again, no more burns, no needles, please not again, not again, no burns, I don't wanna go back, please, don't take me back, no burns, no burns-"
Goliath, upon turning off(read: destroying) the dreaded smoke alarm, immediately flung himself over to the poor, trembling, terrified nadorian balled up in the corner.
"Hey, hey, hey, hey... Abrahm, listen to me, okay? Listen to me. It's me... it's Goliath. You're okay, alright? You're safe, you're safe, nothing is going to hurt you, I promise, you're gonna be okay." He whispered, scooping Valentin into his arms and rubbing his back gently- it was impossible to soothe the deep, painful ache in his soul, hearing Abrahm's frantic breathing and pathetic cries as he meekly clung to his friend's cloak. He looked so... small. So scared. He didn't dare try to ask what happened, what he was so afraid of- he just wanted to make sure Abrahm knew he was safe. A desperation he couldn't control, a need to protect the poor man. A hole in his chest that burned and stung with every panicked breath from his companion.
"Shhh... shhh... it's okay... you're safe... I won't let anything burn you, okay? I won't let anything burn you. The fire is gone- you're safe now..." He hummed, stroking his back gently as possible. A soft, sweet gesture, trying so hard to help comfort him. And slowly his breathing evened out, he calmed down, and Goliath watched Abrahm's shoulders slouch down in exhaustion. Like he just... didn't have any fight in him. It worried Goliath beyond words, especially considering-
No. They had won. Infinity had been defeated. That was what mattered. He shook his head gently, hugging Abrahm close. The poor man melted into his arms, hugging him close in return.
"Are you okay?"
"... Y-yeah..."
"... Is there anything I can do?"
"You've already done so much... s-so much more than I could have asked..."
Goliath felt the pain slip onto his face as he gave Abrahm a gentle yet tight squeeze. Something that made Abrahm wheeze in surprise and look up in confusion, before the skeleton gently wiped the tears from his face. Big, beautiful blue eyes stares up at him, fearful but... safe. Safe and protected, in the sanctuary of Goliath's arms. A comfortable, warm sanctuary of protection. Like a fortress of safety.
"... Thank you..." Abrahm whispered, snuggling into the crook of his neck as his hair brushed over the skeleton's shoulder. His face was warm... soft, but with a little bit of pleasant scruff along the sides and bottom of his face. Little tufts of red and white stuck up from his disheveled, fluffy hair, trembling as Abrahm shuddered and whimpered under his breath. The vegalian pulled him closer, as if trying to absorb him, desperate to provide some level of comfort and safety, to reassure him the ugly flames wouldn't be able to hurt him again.
After several minutes spent clung to one another on the floor, safe and contented surrounded by each other's arms and two snakes that wound around them protectively, Goliath felt himself nodding off in the comfortable, safe peace of the momen-
"SIRE."
"Bah-!!"
The noise Abrahm made as he leapt up was extremely undignified, but only slightly more so than Goliath flailing on the ground like a fish for a moment at the appearance of the artificial intelligence.
"Dovahcom, please, warn us next time you decide to appear from thin air!!" The nadorian squeaked, picking himself up off the floor as he shot a worried look to Goliath- of whom sat there staring up at the face on the screen in shock.
"APOLOGIES, SIRE. BUT IF I MAY, THIS KITCHEN IS AN UTTER MESS, AND AT THE MOMENT, WE ARE IN NEED OF A REPLACEMENT WINDOW AND CARBON MONOXIDE AND DIOXIDE DETECTOR." Dovahcom explained, a few graphs coming up to show a few damaged points. Notably, the broken window and the smoke detector that now laid in pieces on the floor. After Goliath had beaten it into shutting up in a blind panic.
"... Oops."
"*SIGH* I WILL HAVE ONE OF THE BIOTIDES ACQUIRE THE NECESSARY REPLACEMENT PARTS."
"Thank you, Dovahcom." Abrahm hummed, reaching a hand out to help Goliath rise. A hand that was so soft, slightly calloused, but thin and gentle all the same. A hand that kept hold of his even as its owner moved around from the freezer to the toaster, and the dish cabi-
"...th?"
"Huh?"
"You okay?" Abrahm asked, his head tilted curiously.
"... Y-yeah... keep forgetting to eat." The skeleton sighed, shaking his head as he let Abrahm pull him over to the table and sit him down.
"I put some normal store-bought waffles in the toaster, okay? Those will be ready-"
*Ding!*
"... Right now actually. Do you want butter and syrup on them?" Abrahm asked, worried as he watched over Goliath.
"... Yes please."
"Okay, I'll be right back. Dovahcom, please make sure he's okay while I'm busy." He requested, before turning around and preparing the waffles, and what looked like a few glasses of strawberry juice.
Goliath felt himself zoning out a bit, vaguely hearing an "OF COURSE, SIRE" from the AI companion as he did. It was probably just that he hadn't eaten, that he'd been so focused on Abrahm. Once he ate he would be back to normal again... probably.
Even when Abrahm came over and placed breakfast in front of him, he still couldn't help but trail his eyesockets over Abrahm's face as he stuffed bites of waffle in his mouth. The snakes helped themselves to some as well, devouring the 3 p.m breakfast feast eagerly.
"Next time I make waffles, remind me to set a timer for them..."
"So long as you teach me how to help."
"Deal." Abrahm smiled his hands now free from their violent trembling of earlier. Goliath chuckled, taking a napkin and wiping a little bit of syrup off the corner of Abrahm's mouth gently. As hectic as it was, Goliath wouldn't reverse a single moment if it meant he would still have this moment of peace, Abrahm at his side as they enjoyed some breakfast in the warmth of the daylight.
"... We never did have that pillow fight."
"Shit, that's what I forgot!!"
... Granted, he did wish it had been a little earlier in the day. They would both be up until the wee hours of the morning tonight, no doubt.
Notes:
AND THEN THEY KISS/j
I imagine on Nadoria, because apparently roses are important to Abrahm, that they're more than just pretty flowers. In this AU the rose buds are like little red berries that eventually flower into the roses we know, and they're 1 edible and 2 taste very sweet! I would have used strawberries but I wanted to kinda bring back the "Similar to Earth but Not Earth" vibe canon Nadoria apparently has. Also the Abrahm Rose connection we had in our lil discord chat is STILL in my brain. Also I headcanon that the Depths, and the Onyx Colony were effectively in medieval times, and waffles didnt really actually start to crop up until the 1600s-1700s irl, so waffles were Not A Thing in the Depths. Plus Goliath probably would have never been told if they were because Tyrant and Fate are Horrible Parents.
Abrahm has a running motif of fire throughout Iris, so I kinda think of it as a mix of Abrahm is a pyromaniac, and he has some kind of trauma or fear relating to burning. In this AU it was something that required serious treatment, including skin grafts and staying in the hospital being tended to for days on end. So he is uhh.. not okay!! But its okay because his best friend is here to try and comfort him.
Finally, Dovahcom makes an appearance!! How is he alive again? Where is Dovahmoira? Why did I deviate from canon even further? Why is Dovahcom sentient? FIND OUT NEXT TIME ON DRA-*explodes*
I hope you enjoyed this!! As per usual nothing is canon, and if you liked this silly thing, please let me know!! You don't have to, but being told that people like this stuff really boosts my motivation ^^ I hope you have an amazing day!! :D
