Bigger Than The Whole Sky

Summary:

Series of drabbles and short stories featuring Travic and Vicley. Mostly reactions to Season 6 episodes. Sometimes ignores canon.

Notes:

Vic deserves love, respect and inspiration. The respect is seriously missing this season.

Chapter 1: Travic

Chapter Text

Post 6x16
----------------

"You sure haven been studying a lot. Finals kicking your butt yet?" Travis hands her a plate of breakfast deliciousness covered in maple glaze.

"Yeah, I have two weeks left to prepare, so I figured I might as well spend every minute doing something worthwhile." Taking a break to eat, Vic continues. "I just feel like finally I can make a difference you know, with Crisis One, but then I keep wondering - want about us, what about our own family?"

"What do you mean?"

"Look at us - can you honestly say Station 19 is in perfect mental health? And I'm not talking just about Jack or Maya…" her voice trails off, as if she realized she said too much. "Gosh, sometimes I wish the SFD support group still existed. But then it's not like I expected Dixon or even McAllister to care enough to keep it running." After a minute, she shrugs and adds on "and it's not like my own boyfriend thinks my concerns are valid either so…"

Vic takes both plates into the kitchen and starts loading up the dishwasher.

"Why don't you?" Travis leans against the doorway, noticing how she's biting her lip. She always does that to keep her emotions in check, years of their friendship has taught him that.

"What do you mean?"

"Why don't you start a new SFD support group? It doesn't have to be official, although if you ask me, I bet both Diane and Chief Ross would be on board."

Turning off the water, Vic looks up. She knows Travis is her ride or die, yet it still surprises her how much confidence he has in her. "Thanks, Trav."

"He would've been so proud of you, you know?" The silence stretches, both aware of the wound that is still not fully healed yet.

Then, barely a whisper. "I know. I'm just not ready to acknowledge that."
