Work Text:
It was a pleasant Friday night, the breeze light and air warm. And Kazuha was spending it in a loud bar, on Beidou’s behalf. The latter had invited him because he needed to socialize himself more, or something of the sort. She had also invited Zhongli, Xiao, Venti, Shenhe, Yelan, and Ningguang. Tartaglia had tagged along, since Zhongli was going.
Now, Kazuha was searching the bar for her, who had wandered off somewhere with Ningguang Yelan, and Shenhe. Zhongli and Tartaglia had left a while ago, and Venti and Xiao were nowhere to be seen, leaving him alone at the bar. He decided, after scanning the crowd, to check the bathrooms.
The lights were flickering, and the urinals looked… questionable. The stalls look a bit dilapidated. Ew. Thank god he didn’t actually have to use this facility. He couldn’t see Venti’s, or anyone’s, shoes. (Thank Celestia.)
He was about to leave when the door burst open, and a head of maroon hair pushed past him. The boy pushed into one of the stalls and there was the sound of gagging and retching. Poor boy.
Concerned, he followed him. The boy hadn’t locked the door behind him, so Kazuha could see him crumpled over the toilet. He looked… really pathetic, actually. Kazuha made his way in and pulled the boy’s pretty hair back. The boy looked up at him, bleary-eyed and red-cheeked. Kazuha gave him a polite smile. The boy forced a shaky smile before turning back to the toilet and coughing some more. Kazuha rubbed his back comfortingly.
A couple minutes passed while the maroon haired boy emptied the contents of his stomach into the toilet. He lost his lunch, and probably his breakfast as well. The boy finally lifted his head, wiping his mouth on toilet paper Kazuha handed him. He coughed as he stood up, flushing the toilet. He then sat down on the toilet, resting his chin on his hand.
A shy smile appeared on the boy’s face. “Sorry about that.” He was really pretty. Kazuha hadn’t noticed before, but he was dressed in a black cutout muscle shirt tucked into high-waisted black jeans. He wore fishnets underneath his jeans and studded jewelry.
“No need to apologize. I don’t mind.” Kazuha smiled right back. “Are you feeling alright?”
He shrugged. “Better.” He looked around the bathroom. “This place is kinda gross…” He muttered.
Kazuha laughed, “Yes, I noticed that too.” He held out his hand. “Are you good to stand?”
“Uh…” The boy stood. His knees wobbled a bit, but he stood. “Yeah, I’m good.” He made it to the sink, turning the faucet. Kazuha did the same.
While the maroon haired boy washed his hands and splashed some water on his face, Kazuha watched him. The water dripped down his face, then down his neck, soaking the collar of the boy’s shirt. His sides were totally exposed. He had a lean figure. He also had nice biceps. Kazuha wondered if he worked out. The boy grabbed a paper towel to dry himself with.
“Can I have a name to go with that pretty face?” Kazuha asked cooly.
The boy’s face went red. “U-uhm!” He fumbled when he went to toss the paper towels in the garbage. “Heizou…”
Kazuha smiled. “I’m Kazuha.”
“You think I’m pretty?” Heizou asked, pointing his finger towards himself. Kazuha nodded, smiling still. “You held my hair back while I threw up, like, two minutes ago.” He panned. He put his hand on his hip.
Kazuha giggled. “I suppose that does seem odd…” He tapped his lip. “Sorry.”
Heizou smiled, rolling his eyes. “You’re rather endearing. …And I suppose you’re pretty cute.”
Kazuha grinned. “Do you think you could hold down another drink?”
Heizou grimaced a bit, his hand patting over his stomach. “Ah… No, I don’t think I could.” He smiled. “But I’d love to get out of here. Do you wanna grab something to eat? I know a really good spot near here.” He clasped his hands together and tipped on the balls of his feet.
“I think I’d like that.” Kazuha smiled. He pulled out his phone. “I need to text the group I came with, then we can head out.”
Heizou smiled. “Meet me at the door? I need to talk to my group too.” He gestured toward the bathroom door.
Kazuha looked up from his phone to give the boy a smile. “Yeah, of course.”
Heizou laughed. “Yeah, see you!”
Kazuha waited outside. He took in the weather. The breeze combed through his hair and nipped at his nose. The door opened, and Kazuha looked over. It was Heizou, pulling a leather jacket over his shoulder.
“Hey.” Kazuha felt giddy. It had been a while since he’d gone on a date, especially with someone with looks like Heizou’s. If this counts as a date. (Kazuha hopes it does.
“Hi.” Heizou’s smile was sweet. He waved.
“You good to go?” Kazuha pushed himself off the wall and shifted his weight to his other leg.
“Yeah.” Heizou patted his pockets, checking for all his belongings.
“Great,” Kazuha gestured politely; “Lead the way.”
Heizou smiled, a giggle dying on his lips. He turned on his heel.
He had a skip in his step.
