Chapter Text

Soft pants, lewd moans and loud slaps of skin against skin echoed in the luxurious room of a well furnished master bedroom of a penthouse apartment in Yokohama. The moon was up high in the sky and the only witness to the horizontal tango being danced in Port Mafia Executive Nakahara Chuuya's residence. The lights had not been bothered with, instinct and moonlight guiding their movements, pheromones heavy in the air, with the undercurrent of alcohol. Perhaps had they opened a window, they could have controlled themselves instead of sinking into each other with a fervor befitting the hormones raging through their teenage bodies. But what was done was done and neither was in the right mind to exactly mind this development right now.

Though Dazai feared his partner will very much mind once he sobers up.

It was no secret that Chuuya despised Dazai Osamu with a passion. He'd made it clear on the day they met, then again when Dazai recruited him and again when they were sixteen during the Dragon Head Conflict and again and again on countless other occasions. He found Dazai utterly detestable and Dazai couldn't even blame him for it, even as his heart yearned and his instincts screamed for the Chibi Alpha. For Dazai, it had practically been love at first sight, but he didn't know the first thing on attraction, let alone genuine affection, especially of the romantic kind. Any way he tried to express it was shot down instantly so Dazai just stopped. He even did his best to annoy Chuuya as little as possible after they both properly presented and Chuuya started bringing random Omegas to his flat, for both casual pleasure and stress relief as well as for dealing with his rather intense ruts.

Dazai was just lucky he'd made two Beta friends at that point so he had somewhere to stay after his storage container home had been compromised by Verlaine. Odasaku and Ango never had a problem with housing him for a few days and Odasaku even tried to make him stay longer once he realized Dazai was practically half-living with the person his inner Omega was pining for but received rejection each and every time he made any advances. But Dazai felt bad about imposing and Chuuya's ruts usually triggered his heat soon after, too, so he usually went back to his first, pathetically attempted nest with only Mori around to help him through his heat by providing fabrics, food and water while keeling everyone away from the very clinic they first met at. Elise was his only bodyguard and her lack of scent always comforted him.

Tonight was only two days after his last heat when he'd returned to the apartment Chuuya all but forced him to share with him after the events of the incident dubbed as 'Stormbringer', only to find Chuuya drunk off his ass with the last dregs of a rut clinging to him for some reason.

For some reason, he had one of Dazai's shirts pressed against his nose, breathing in deeply and crooning in delight and comfort.

For some reason, when Dazai had come close enough to check him over, he'd still been feverish and his blue eyes had been blown wide with lust.

For some reason, he'd grabbed Dazai and dragged him into his lap, despite the height difference, and into a bruising kiss.

For some reason, they ended up in the bedroom, naked save for some of Dazai's bandages, the rest hanging off the bed.

For some reason, they were fucking like animals and Chuuya was mouthing at his neck, at his scent glands, as his knot inflated inside Dazai's hole, his Omegan cock spent on his own stomach.

For some reason, Dazai only tilted his head in invitation and orgasmed all over again at the claiming, mating bite delivered painfully, pleasurably to his shoulder.

He blacked out after that and woke up with Chuuya still clinging to him and inside him, but thankfully soft and snoring his future hangover away. The brunet carefully extracted himself from his partner's grip, quickly cleaned himself up a bit, opened a window to let the heady scent of sex out and all but bolted from the room and the apartment. He knew Chuuya would be going on an overseas mission soon that ought to last a few months, so he'll be able to avoid a confrontation for some time if he just makes a clean getaway now and avoids Chuuya until the next evening. Should be easy enough; Dazai really knows how to disappear when he wants to.

He managed it and pretended that the bandages on his neck didn't hide a one-sided, half-bond from his too-drunk-to-realize-what-he-was-doing partner. It was a good thing he already took suppressants so no one could notice a change in his scent to that of a claimed Omega, not even Mori, who knew his scent best as both his doctor and his 'parent'. Chuuya was lucky in that regard; he doesn't know who would tear him apart first: Kouyou, for being so careless, or Mori, for daring to do it to Dazai.

Dazai was still too foolishly in love with his partner to want him any ill, so he kept it a secret. He figured he can keep it that way until Chuuya comes back in a few months and they discuss it in detail what this means for their already incredibly rocky relationship and partnership.

Only for Dazai to realize that would never happen when, a few months later, Mimic created a mess, Mori more or less sacrificed Odasaku for the Ability Business Permit and Dazai ran from the Mafia, going into hiding with Taneda-san's and Ango's help and with Sensei as his only company for months at a time.

Only for Dazai to realize he should have paid more attention to his body's sudden demands for more sustenance than he usually bothered to consume, the amount of sleep he was getting and the need to nest that he could usually suppress.

Only for Dazai to realize the delay in his next heat wasn't induced by stress, but rather something much more serious.

Only for Dazai and Sensei both to start panicking when vicious cramps and a wet floor ended with Dazai being carted off to a secret, secure hospital.

Only for Ango, Sensei and Taneda-san to come to see Dazai once he was stable and find him not alone, but with a little bundle of blankets from which only a few trufts of ginger hair peaked out.

Dazai Osamu had become a parent, had gone through a pregnancy without realizing it, without it showing on his body at all. A rare phenomenon among women, let alone male Omegas. He was now the single father of little Aya-chan, with her pretty blue eyes and fiery hair and cute little nose and chubby cheeks.

Osamu fell in love with her at first sight and felt a sudden, frightening flare of desire to live so he could see her grow up into her own person.

It was terrifying and exhilarating.

Dazai refused to give her up, against advice given to him by his former friend, Sensei and Taneda-san. This was his baby girl; he'd burn Yokohama, the world for her. But he knew she could not bear the name Dazai, for her own safety. The same went for Nakahara. So he gave her a random surname and fake parents on paper, but he kept her. He raised her in secret with help from those she could consider family.

Sensei was rather addicted to babysitting her and Dazai mended certain relationships through his little Aya-chan.

He still applied for a job at the Armed Detective Agency, he still became a detective. He still kept her a secret and raised her to the best of his abilities. She had too much of her other father's temper and was nearly his spitting image, but she also had Dazai's mischievous and little shit attitude and he loved her for it all. She made him feel alive and she made him want to take care of himself. It wasn't easy, as he still wanted to die, to wake from this oxidizing world of a dream, but he didn't make any serious or dangerous attempts on his life since she was born. He had two - well, all things considered, three - major motivators to stay alive now, even if for just a few years longer. He had people to save and orphans to help. He had his beautiful Aya to raise and see her grow up. (He mustn't die while the dangers of Corruption still lurked in Chuuya's shadow.)

All in all, life was as good as it could get, really.

Until the Mafia crossed paths with him again. With it came Akutagawa, Hirotsu, Chuuya, Kouyou, Gin, Q and eventually Mori. It was so strange to see them all again and to know that they were, technically, enemies.

Chuuya still hated him.

Akutagawa was still obsessing with obtaining his approval.

Hirotsu was Hirotsu. Dazai immediately contemplated telling the man he had a grandchild of sorts, given how he'd always treated Dazai.

Kouyou was as elegant and caring of others in her own way as ever.

Gin was Gin, cute and deadly and easily flustered.

Q was still the kid he'd had to leave behind, stuck between desperately needing saving and beyond salvation. Dazai almost pitied them. Only almost, because no matter how long he lives in the light, Dazai will never feel true pity for anyone.

Mori ... Well, Mori was Mori, but Dazai had never seen him act the way he did with Fukuzawa with anyone else before. It didn't take a genius to put two and two together. Now that was interesting.

One alliance and one major battle for Yokohama later, Dazai thought that finally things will go back to normal but with the addition of new dreams and thoughts of a certain Chibi haunting his every waking and sleeping moment after Soukoku's official reunion. He thought wrong.

It all started when, one day, Dazai decided to mess with Kunikida's schedule but things went a bit sideways and Kunikida nearly died had Yosano not been around. Of course, Dazai's actual pranks had very little to do with the psychotic bomber obsessed with his work partner, but karma still decided to flip him the cosmical bird when he saw the blond idealist and their resident doctor enter the Agency in the company of the chibiest ginger he knows.

He was leaping out of his seat in an instant. "Aya-chan!? What are you doing here!?" All the while, horrible deductions and conclusions swarmed his mind as he realized in seconds exactly why his little baby was with Kunikida.

"Shut up, you bandage wasting machine! Can't you see that she's scared from today's ordeal-"

"Tou-chan!" Aya shamelessly interrupted the blond, a few relieved tears escaping her as Dazai swept her up into his arms, his heart beating erratically, completely out of his control. Both father and daughter completely ignored Dazai's coworkers and their unhinged jaws collecting dust on the floor. "It was s-so scary! The mean guy had a bomb and was going to k-kill us all like in the movies but this wasn't a movie-"

"Aya-chan, why aren't you with your good for nothing grandfather? It was his turn to babysit you!" He exclaimed, hugging his sweetie tighter even as he used one hand to dial a familiar number. The second he heard a stuttered out, nervous hello, he barked at the other to get to the Agency immediately or there will be hell to pay. Needless to say, the Agency finally met the Demon Prodigy. That facet of Dazai's persona disappeared as he turned his attention back to Aya and purred reassuringly to calm her down. It eventually worked and Aya fell into an uneasy slumber, probably still recovering from shock since she didn't become boneless from her Omega father's purring and reassuring pheromones.

"Oi, useless Dazai! Explain yourself immediately!" Kunikida demanded but gulped and quieted himself when Dazai sent him a venomous glare.

He sighed, knowing there was no point in hiding his family of two now that everyone's seen her. "Guys, this is Aya-chan, my daughter. She's four years old and has no Ability. She's my best kept secret."

"I think your secondary gender is your best kept secret," Yosano commented even as she peered at father and daughter. Probably assessing the very few physical similarities they shared. "I never realized you were an Omega, Dazai. Are you getting the proper medical aid you might need?"

"Not to worry, Yosano-sensei. My doctor may be a bit ... unorthodox and inconvenient, but he's, unfortunately, very good at his job. Unless it's babysitting, it appears," he said with a dark scowl. At that moment, the Agency's doors banged open and everyone but Dazai immediately got into battle stances. Aya even woke up and groggily looked around. Dazai, though, struck the perfect 'disappointed parent' stance and expression. "You had one job. Just one. You run a multi-million corporation acting as a front for the biggest Mafia in the country; how hard can it be to hold onto a four year old girl, Mori-san!?"

"Eep!" Was the Port Mafia Boss' reaction, as he was trying to hide behind Elise. The blond girl only rolled her eyes at him before stomping on his foot and marching over to Dazai to check on Aya, as she was clearly the more responsible of the two. "I'm so sorry, Dazai-kun, but Aya-chan is as slippery as you've always been! She definitely knows how to sneak around!"

"That is no excuse! She could have died today, you buffoon! Heavens, this is why I prefer Sensei as her babysitter! Even Ango isn't this incompetent!"

"Please don't take away my precious time with dearest Aya-chan!"

"You let a little girl around him!?" Yosano, Fukuzawa and Ranpo screeched, pointing a finger at the black haired man. "He's a confirmed pedophile!"

"WHAT!?" The entire Agency, sans Dazai, screamed.

"Excuse me!?" Mori shouted back, deeply offended.

"Elise-chan does raise a few eyebrows, Mori-san. Especially since you're so shameless," countered Dazai as he set Aya down now that she was calm again.

"Ougai-jii!" The little redhead exclaimed, running towards her ... grandfather after a brief hug with Elise. "Tou-chan really is right: you're incompetent!"

"And that's her big word of the day," Elise said with a snicker, to which Dazai just sighed in fond exasperation as he watched Mori coddle his little Aya-chan.

"Mori-sensei, Dazai, could you please explain?" The President finally asked and Dazai wasn't blind to how his former mentor and Boss stiffened. He also wasn't deaf to the choked up way Fukuzawa asked for that explanation but that's all to be dealt with at another time.

"What's there to explain?" Dazai asked with a shrug. "An unplanned teen pregnancy. I decided to go through with it. Mori-san provided aid, as did a few others."

"Yes, but why? Mori-sensei isn't known for helping others out of the kindness of his own heart."

"How cruel, Fukuzawa-dono," came the retort with actual hurt underlining it. "Though you're not wrong. Had Dazai-kun been just some random Omega, I wouldn't have helped as much as I did and still do. However, considering he's my adopted pup, I'd think it makes sense I'd help as much as I could with my grandchild."

"... WHAT!?"

00000

"So, let me get this straight," Ranpo began. "Mori picked up Dazai after a failed suicide attempt and dragged him into the old Mafia Boss' execution as a 'witness to his will' that ensured you succeeded him. But then Dazai tricked you, turning your instincts against you, so you'd grow attached to him to the point your inner Omega refused to let harm befall him. So you made a little family pack, just you two and, technically, Elise. Then you renewed it after Dazai gave sudden birth months after leaving the Mafia after a surprise pregnancy. You stayed in touch in secret since, for the safety of Aya."

"That's about it," Dazai shrugged, as though it was normal for a not yet fully presented fourteen year old male Omega to manipulate an older, cunning, paranoid male Omega into taking him as his own to ensure his own safety and relent his boredom.

"But how did you manage to manipulate this bastard?" Yosano asked, glaring at her once 'mentor'. "You're a little out of his age group preference."

"I'm not a pedophile!" Hissed the enraged older Omega at the Alpha doctor. "I'm infertile. Elise was only ever a representation of my wish to have pups of my own but when we were on the battlefield, too young would have caused too much trouble. After the war was over, I changed Elise's appearance to fit a younger child, so she was definitely more 'pup' than possibly a large age gap sibling or cousin."

"You had a miscarriage, didn't you? When you picked up Dazai," Ranpo more stated than asked. Mori went silent so Dazai nodded, confirming this.

"I capitalized on it that his hormones were still preparing for raising a child and tricked him into forming a familial link with me. We never truly severed it, not even when I left, despite everything. We are cruel people, but I guess not even we are that cruel."

"So it was just the two of you?" Atsushi asked uneasily as he eyed the Mafia Boss and Dazai nodded again.

"We tried with Kyuusaku - Q - but they latched onto me more than Mori-san. They came from abusive parents so they didn't trust adults. An 'older brother' was more desired than another parent."

The President was suspiciously quiet throughout this whole conversation and Dazai wondered if he was doing the math necessary to realize just to who Mori-san's unfated child belonged to.

Reconnecting with his only parental figure after Mori-san had so callously tossed aside the life of Dazai's only remaining non-familial pack mate had been hard but also necessary. Frankly, Dazai didn't trust the government not to put one thousand and one tracking chips or maybe even kill switches into Aya during her check-ups over the years, so he always had Mori make sure his baby was safe and up to date with the necessary shots or medicines. Mori-san also knew what it was like to bear one half of a mating bond, his scent gland marked with an Alpha's teeth that was no longer there for him. He'd never talked about his Alpha, never mentioned names or professions or appearances, but Dazai wasn't called the Demon Prodigy for nothing; it was damn obvious Mori and Fukuzawa had history and that it was a lot more intimate than either party would willingly admit after their falling out.

To push irony to its fullest, Fukuzawa was as unaware of the mating mark he'd left on Mori as Chuuya was of the one Dazai wore. He wondered if Mori's had happened under similar circumstances. He'd never asked, not even after he explained how Aya came to be and Mori gave him the most understanding, kindly sympathetic look he'd ever seen on the sadistic doctor turned Mafia Boss. It was the genuinity of his wish to help that had Dazai even considering it, let alone accepting it. He knew he had to; he needed protection, as much as he'd like to claim himself perfectly capable of protecting them both. But this wasn't a matter of pride, it was a matter of Aya's safety and while he was breastfeeding, he was too exhausted and vulnerable to offer even the usual amounts of protection he could. With Mori's help, he could settle down in one safe house that was kept protected within the Mafia's own territory without having to look over his shoulder every five seconds and without having to sleep with one eye open on the rare occasions he could sleep at all. His exhaustion was battling his insomnia well.

Mori had once tried to convince him to reach out to Chuuya, regardless of his future plans, and Dazai had tried.

He had shown up on his doorstep with Aya and the best bottle of wine he could get his hands on on such short notice, ready to possibly beg his partner for forgiveness, both for leaving and for having kept their accidental, one-sided bonding a secret for so long.

But he was rewarded with scents and sounds that almost made him retch.

Being an breastfeeding Omega had put his heats on hold. He'd unknowingly ended up going to Chuuya while he was in the middle of rut and was spending it with some other Omega. And his inner Omega fell into such a deep in the blink of an eye that Dazai had to manually fight the urge to fling himself out of a window or off the top of the building. Instead, he'd taken his daughter and left and told Mori that Chuuya is never to find out about Aya's existence. Not without Dazai being the one to introduce them.

For now, Dazai was more than content to leave as few people aware of his daughter's existence as he could, since it would mean less chance for Chuuya to find out about her.

Aya meeting Kunikida and then being brought to the Agency kind of threw a wrench into that particular plan but he also couldn't deny the benefits of his colleagues knowing about Aya so they can protect her, too. She was an innocent child, something the Agency would never forsake, even if they knew who her other father was or just what, exactly, Dazai had been and done before he had her. The most they could or would dare try to do if they found out was to take her away from him, but not even his promise to Odasaku can compare to his daughter. Though it would be a shame to have the Demon Prodigy on the prowl again after all that hard work to put it all behind him.

"Dazai," Yosano called, bringing him out of his musings. "Can we talk?" She asked, eyes casting a skeptical glare to where Mori was now gushing over Aya, who'd been kept busy by their youngest members while the adults and almost adults discussed Dazai's relation with the Mafia Boss. Fukuzawa was hovering over them, that strange glint in his eyes again. Dazai felt the sudden urge to defend his pseudo parent from a suitor he wasn't sure he found worthy.

How ironic.

"Just because he went through shit, too, doesn't excuse the shit he did," he said preemptively, having a feeling that this was Yosano's main issue with him being family with a bastard such as Mori. "Bad experiences don't excuse causing bad experiences onto others. You are completely justified to hate him and never forgive him, that's your right. Hell, even I have problems at times with accepting that he's not just a worthless piece of space that uses others for his own gain. But it's my choice to keep having him in my life. He helped me a lot with Aya and continues to do so. I won't force you to interact with him but you can't force me to keep him out of Aya's life if he's done nothing but aid her health and growth. That's our decision."

"Okay," she breathed out, clearly uneasy but willing to accept it. "But I'm more concerned about the medical side of things right now. You've kept your secondary gender a secret, leading me to assume you are a Beta. Thus I never felt the need to check you for regular diseases common in Omegas, nor do I know anything about your heat cycles or the type of scent and heat suppressants you use. As your primary company physician, I need to know at least the basics so I don't accidentally cause more harm than good. If I accidentally give you medicine that interferes with your hormonal medication, I could rob you of the chance to mate, for life."

Dazai couldn't help the way his face twisted at that. "Who's to say I'm not already mated, Yosano-sensei?"

And he hadn't meant to induce pity or worry, he really hadn't. But the words slipped free almost without his input and now he had to explain the basics of his situation to Yosano. He never gave her a name, but Aya's appearance alone gave away who her other father was, if one overlooked the fact that Chuuya clearly hated Dazai. Though, Chuuya was hardly the only redhead in Yokohama, but here's to hoping no one but possibly Ranpo will figure it out. At least not that easily.

Though, given her personality ...

Then again, no one from the Agency had seen Chuuya's more ... aggressive, temperamental, genuine side so far. They just thought him a well-mannered, dangerous Executive of the Port Mafia.

"Do you need medication to numb the bond?" The doctor asked instead of offering any actual, at least audible pity.

Dazai just shook his head. He liked the thrum of the bond, one-sided as it might be without him returning the bite. It made him feel human. He also liked the mark; it reminded him, at least for a short while, someone had wanted him, that Chuuya had wanted him.

"Are you sure?"

"I'm sure," he reassured with a smile.

And that was that. Yosano left it alone and instead focused his efforts on stealing Aya away from Mori, because she wanted to spite him and because Aya-chan was just too cute. Dazai could understand the urge; after all, Aya was very cute. Very chibi-chibi. Dazai couldn't help but smile, feeling kind of content even as his mark pulsed and pulsed, reminding him he'll never know true happiness as long as only he bears it.

How typical.

00000

Life went on as usual for Dazai, Aya and the Armed Detective Agency with the exception that Dazai now brought Aya along for when he predicted the day to be slow. Mori and Taneda complained, since it usually happened when it was their turn to look after Aya and Sensei battled it by simply being around the office and stealing pets when no one was looking. Or exactly when Fukuzawa was looking, because Sensei is a petty little shit and he felt bad for Mori because he was in a similar situation as Dazai, whom he genuinely liked. Poor Fukuzawa always looked so heartbroken when the calico cat ran away before he could pet him. Ango was fine with less babysitting hours, since Aya loved pranking him. She could sense the uneasy tension between him and her parent, so she made his life a living hell whenever she could.

Ranpo, in the end, ended up being the only one in the know about Aya's other father. He agreed to keep it a secret but warned Dazai it will be inevitable for Chuuya to find out now that Mori was more or less shamelessly constantly visiting the Agency.

Speaking of Mori, he and Fukuzawa also had a lot of weird tension between them. The Alpha kept trying to get the Mafia Boss alone for a serious discussion, but either Aya or Dazai always saved him from it or someone else unwittingly distracted Fukuzawa long enough for Mori to find an escape or an excuse. But the swordsman was persistent and eventually cornered Mori for their serious discussion.

"Was the child mine and did you really have a miscarriage, not an abortion?"

Mori growled at the taller male the second those words left his mouth. Fukuzawa didn't back down, growling lowly in return. "Even if that was the case, it doesn't concern you, Alpha." Despite the tone it was said in, Fukuzawa shivered at the address from an Omega he'd once loved and held close. "You've made your choice."

"You've made your stance on children known, too."

"It was war, Yukichi," the younger of the two replied tiredly. "Yosano-kun's Ability was priceless and the support our battalion got from the government for it protected her, me and any other Ability user even remotely affiliated with us and our soldiers. If we were in such a situation again, I'd do it all over again, as many times as I need in order for us Ability users to live even a remotely normal life."

"Would you do the same if it was Dazai?" Countered Fukuzawa, not sure what he was expecting.

Mori laughing was not one of his top choices, but it wasn't entirely out of the scope of expectations. "If the government or the military had been aware of Dazai-kun's existence, he'd have been groomed into the perfect general within months of his discovery. I would have hardly hesitated to do otherwise, especially back then, when my hormones hadn't been messing with my head. It's not up to the child whether they will be exploited, but whether they can be. Though, Dazai-kun would be a right nightmare with that much power in his hands. I would know; he ran half of Port Mafia for me."

"Can't you see that that's your problem, Ougai? That you don't care what happens to other people? That is why I left!"

Mori laughed again, this time sounding more bitter and scathing than anything else. "I don't care why you left or what you think of me. Get off of your high horse, you're not better than the rest of us. You were a murderer until a few years ago, too, and you would be one now, too, if push comes to shove. So don't play high and mighty. You were no better than me."

"Except that I choose to change for the better, while you always only became more and more twisted."

The former illegal doctor scoffed at the retort. "Except that you changing for the better meant little for anyone other than the kid you took in. My changing 'for the worst'? Tell me, Fukuzawa-dono, can you honestly tell me where Yokohama would be today if I weren't the man I currently am? No, don't bother, I'll answer my own question. It would be in shambles, if not completely decimated even before the Guild appeared on the horizon. Do you want to know why? Because the criminal underworld would be in constant conflicts. Just the Guvire incident would wipe us all out or a foreign country's spy agency would get their hands on a nuclear-level bio-engineered weapon they'd have little to no control over. Or the Dragon Head Conflict after that, because if I wasn't in power, Soukoku wouldn't have been established at all! Don't make me list the numerous other times the Port Mafia protected Yokohama in your Agency's infancy and still does it to this day. The world doesn't revolve around you goody-goodies and your good deeds of the day, in case you didn't notice. You becoming another one won't clean your hands of the blood you've spilled or any other sins you've committed. You becoming a goody-goody doesn't change the fact that you left me. For a random child. For an Alpha to leave their Omega is inexcusable-"

"'My Omega'?" A perplexed Fukuzawa repeated and Ougai felt his blood turn cold in his veins. He can almost feel Dazai facepalming at the slip of the tongue. Such a slip of the tongue would cost any other mafioso their life. Be it by enemy hands or by the hands of their allies. "Ougai, what does that mean? Answer me!"

The black haired male bared his teeth at the Alpha. "Don't you dare use your Alpha voice on me! You've lost any privilege of my submission when you left me and our unborn child!"

Fukuzawa took in a deep breath to calm down before nodding. "I apologize. I won't do it again." When Mori seemingly accepted his apology, he approached the Omega again, more carefully. "But please answer me?"

The Port Mafia Boss snorted sardonically. "Why do you think Dazai-kun and Aya-chan get so protective over me when you're around. We're a little family pack and to their instincts, you're the irresponsible Alpha who liked to get his dick wet and knot squeezed but ran away from his responsibilities when they reared their ugly heads. Dazai-kun as an Omega and Aya-chan as a child would especially be sensitive to that kind of behavior, even if it only looks that way. Dazai-kun told me he can't help but get in between us, his instincts demand it. Why do you think the calico cat that Dazai-kun calls Sensei snubs all your attempts to woo it for a few pets? Turns out, my little protege managed to catch the attention of our darling sensei and they formed a bit of an alliance that grew irreversibly stronger after Dazai-kun suddenly gave birth to Aya while trying to lay low so he can live a new life and he practically became their only source of protection until the government could work things out or until Dazai-kun caved and called on me for help, which he hated at first, by the way. Anyhow, it turns out that Sensei can't forgive such 'cowardice' and is, as such, punishing you."

"What does any of that have to do with you being my Omega!?" An utterly confused and somewhat distressed Fukuzawa demanded and Mori just reached up to his neck, pushed aside all the clothes there and let the older man see the vivid mark on his skin.

"You marked me during our last time together, Yukichi. It's what even allowed for me to get pregnant despite all the drugs in my body preventing heats or conception."

The silver haired man's jaw literally dropped at that, eyes going wide and shock making his body turn rigid. "I ... I don't really remember much of our last time together," he confessed and Mori only snorted, letting his mark get covered up again. He arched an eyebrow when Fukuzawa made an aborted motion to uncover it again but said nothing of it.

"Of course you don't; you were forced into a rut because of that one woman's Ability that amplified hormone production. You kept taking me for three days non-stop and then you bit me. The only reason I or Elise allowed it was because we'd already talked about starting a family together one day, remember?"

"I-I do."

Mori shrugged. "I had figured that moment might be as right a time as any. But then you left and all of our carefully laid plans were thrown into a river like the first batch of kittens. Not long after that one confrontation we had, I had a miscarriage and was, honestly, contemplating throwing myself off of the same bridge I found Dazai on. He jumped in before I could stop him, but that's a story for a different day and one I really shouldn't be telling you without his permission besides. The point is, well ... I'm your Omega, the bond is one-sided ... And now you know."

"I'm sorry," was all Fukuzawa could get in before Mori cut him off, waving it all off.

"It's fine. I like the mark, that's why I didn't get it surgically removed."

"No, Ougai. I meant that I'm sorry I left." Mori froze at that. "I'm sorry you had to go through so much without me, all on your own. And I'm sorry about our pup. I wish I could have prevented it all, but perhaps you're right; maybe it's always meant to be this way."

"I sure hope not," he confessed. "Lest Dazai-kun share my pitiful fate."

The swordsman's eyes widened in further shock. "Wait, Dazai, too?"

Mori nodded. "Our stories are almost identical. Only neither party knew about Aya before Dazai-kun's water broke and the Alpha father doesn't even know he has a daughter. And, of course, Dazai-kun actually carried Aya to term. Though, chances were, had he known, Aya-chan might not be here today. Dazai-kun had not been in a good place, mentally, when he fell pregnant."

"Is the other father still around?" Yukichi asked hesitantly and sighed in relief when the other confirmed it. "Then why doesn't Dazai reach out-?"

"He tried," Mori cut in bitterly. "It apparently didn't end well. He never told me the details but his pheromones reeked of stress and depression to the point I feared not even his parental instincts would stop him from taking his own life. I was, thankfully, wrong, and Aya-chan continues to be one of Dazai-kun's best motivators to stay alive, but the chances of Dazai-kun coming clean to his mate and them working it all out are about as low as the Mariana Trench and it doesn't seem like those chances will be changing for the better anytime soon."

Fukuzawa winced at that. He looked worried for his employee but he was also, apparently, also worried about something else. "And the chances of us working things out? Are they just as low?"

The Omega was too stunned to speak. He just stared at his Alpha for a good minute before a satisfied yet affectionate smile split usually cruelly-grinning lips. "That depends entirely on how willing you are to put the work in to earn it, Fu-ku-za-wa-do-no~ After everything, you'll need to earn my bite."

"I sincerely look forward to the challenge, Mori-sensei."
