Chapter Text
The books said there was a dragon who protected Japan, an alpha. Who formed a very deep bond with his servant, a human omega.
One so deep that their souls were bound to reincarnate to meet again. Soulmates
Even if their souls yearned for each other, they had a job to do. The dragon must marry one the elder approves and his lover will remain his maid, watching silently as the dragon had his own family and kids.
Of course, the lover also had to start their own family so their kids could also serve just like they did
Yet it somehow caused a curse, each generation that goes by the alpha and omega genes becomes weaker, having more betas than omegas and alphas, and said dragon abilities were locked away too
Yet the two continued with their power dynamic. The midoriya's always serving the bakugou's for generations
The bakugou family was never able to fully unlock their powers of turning into great beasts nor having alpha characteristics, the same for their servants who had more and more betas than omegas
As generations pass, there's less population in Japan
There are more betas and alphas that can only have 1 or 2 kids in their lifetime. Omegas became a thing of the past and alphas are dying out as females struggle with giving birth.
It's crazy to think it used to boom as the omegas could give birth to up to 100 kids which consisted of alpha betas and omegas and now Alpha Mitsuki has almost lost her life in her first and final pregnancy
The elders know it's a curse for not having made the first soulmates lovers.
Now it's a must.
Katsuki was born with scales and a dragon tail, something alphas haven't been able to do for years without training, others lost the ability completely
Inko birthed twins. A girl named ochako and a very weak one she named izuku
It only meant one thing, their souls finally reincarnated and in their heads, it only made sense it was ochako, the healthier one of the two
The whole country was overjoyed that in a few years, they would have a dragon to protect them and be blessed with more of their kids to grow the population
So izuku was forgotten, named weak and useless
After all, it was clear ochako was her mate right? Once the two have mated the curse would be lifted
This is the one and last time a servant would marry their boss
**
Today was their wedding, the day their categorization will be known
“Izuku, hurry” inko hurried her son as the green hair shaped the final orange napkin into a simple dragon shape for the guests
“Done! Sorry for taking too long Mom” izuku apologized
“We have a few hours until the guests arrive but you know how Mitsuki can get,” she said, putting the last things on the cart. The boy grabbed his cane and the two started making their way through the wooden house of the Japanese house
Right, Mitsuki would be pissed if anything about her son's wedding was done wrong, especially with how high the stakes are
Izuku’s body limped as he followed after his mother, he was born with a disease that always attacked his immune system, and was weak as a result.
He was never allowed to play with his sister or katsuki instead he had to watch or was forced to clean and read, although the three have lived in the same house since they were born katsuki barely remembers who izuku is
Nobody cared about him, as long as katsuki and ochako were in the picture, he didn't have to be.
Some say it was a curse to him for even daring to be born alongside ochako (as if he could decide that)
Yet he still loves this family, he is trying his best to remain here and be supportive
He remembers he spent years locked in his room reading, reading about omega traits or the way alphas have rough tongues
“I’ll leave this to you to organzine,” she said, leaving izuku alone in the large dining room
He knew izuku should've asked for help for something as time-consuming as this. To one healthy person, they can put all the plates and napkins with ease but for someone as physically ill as izuku it could be heavy on his body
But for once he wanted to do something for his sister. He always had to miss her important days when things became too much for him and had to stay in his room, so for once he wanted to push himself even something as stupid as putting his handmade dragon napkins and fancy plates
He was planning on leaving this place soon anyways
He is not…welcomed here, never was
He hears laughs and snickers from outside and the door slides open to reveal katsukis friends from other dragon families.
Mina and Denki
He freezes, gripping his cane
“Oh izuku!” Mina greets, her large pink wings, and tail knock out the chairs and what's on the tables, and they for sure weren't going to pick it up
“We thought you’ll spend the day in your room,” Denki says, picking up a dragon speaking and tearing it
“My body isn't…bad today” he whispered, looking down at the floor
He was always bullied by everyone. To them he was a bother, even when they were born Masaru said they had left him for hours tending to Ochako.
Izuku remembers crying alone that night because of it
He never felt welcomed into this family and since ochako is here, why should he stay?
“Can't relate” Mina says, smiling
“Maybe you should go outside more often, maybe you’ll get less sick that way” she adds
That's not the way it works, but /sure/ izuku thought.
“Whoops” Denki knocks into another table, the chairs falling and izuku gasped
“Why didn't they allow more space for us?” Mina mumbled, throwing more chairs around
“S-Stop it!” izuku snapped but they weren't listening
The green hair scrambled to quickly fix everything as the two laughed it off and left
Because god is cruel the door slides open again to reveal Katsuki, Mitsuki, inko, and Masaru
“Mom..I—”
“Izuku what did you do?!” she snapped, putting her hands up
Mitsuki looked angry, some of her golden scales rose as she glared daggers at him
“Youre planning on ruining the wedding you stupid child?!” she raised her voice and izuku flinched
“I didn't!” he cried
“I just—Denki and Mina–”
“Why would my friends try to ruin the wedding? What a fucking liar” katsuki asked, glaring at him
Nobody would believe him
Not even his mother
“Get out of here! You're banned from the wedding and any family-related issues!” Mitsuki ordered with her booming voice
Inkos eyes widened
“Wait you don't think it's kind of rough…on him? Maybe he tripped and fell?”
“Even better reason why he shouldn't be allowed anywhere!” she snapped, grabbing izuku by his arm and he winced
There were snickers and laughs from workers as inko and Masaru tried to make Mitsuki change her mind but she was dead set
“And you're not having food after all the guests have been taken care of! Even if it's until 2 am”
She threw him to his room, locking his door from the outside
Izuku curled up as hot tears ran down his face staining the floors
Why is he here? He’s not treated as family!
He stared at his hand, it was quickly becoming red showing how she wasn't trying to hold back
The voices from the outside were slowly becoming softer and he was left alone
Why did he try?! Always trying to be part of this stupid family…what a bother!
He tried to stand up but quickly fell to the ground, making him hiss in pain
All his life he tried to fit in, on days he wasn't as weak he tried to play with katsuki and his sister but because of his disease they had to play softer with them which they did not like
They saw him more as a bother to play with so instead mitsuki ordered izuku to make himself useful and clean or not be heard by locking himself in his room
He let out small sobs
He knew katsuki and ochako loved each other but god, he never asked to be unloved. He knows he will just be miserable if he stays here. He’ll have to be their servant just like his mother is to Mitsuki and Masaru and he won't do that
Maybe if he tries enough he could live on his own without anyone. Without being bullied and mocked.
Kacchan and ochako always looked at him wrong, he bets they would always ask the others why wasn't he out of there if he couldn't be useful
The door slides open and he looks up to see inko looking incredibly disappointed at him and izuku stammers. His crane must have been left in the room
“It was Mina and Denki, it was the mom. I spent all night doing the decorations, I wouldn't—”
“Why did you have to be born this way” she whispered and izukus eyes widened
“Im not mad at you, im not,” she says as she places the plate of food on the floor, she managed to sneak some food for him
“But I don't know…I know a mother shouldn't be thinking this way but maybe it was better if it was only ochako…”
How, how could she say something as evil as that?
Is he, not a human too?
Is he not /worth it/ enough to breathe the same air?
“Out, please get out,” izuku said bitterly
Not even his mother wanted him, noted
She looked heartbroken
“I’ll be happy for the both of us on her wedding,” she said, adding salt to the wound
Izuku stared at the food with hatred, grabbing onto the bookshelf not caring if books fell out
He doesn't want to be here, they can be happy without him, as it always has been
When everyone is in the ceremony he’s leaving. He will not become their servant, he will not be bullied by them
He is tired of always being pushed into the shadows, of going hungry, of having seen as ochako and bakugou fell in love as kids while he was forced inside just so others couldn't see him
