Chapter 1: STOP! POOR JC

Chapter Text

As the class were looking at Wei WuXian and Jin Zixuan glaring at each other, a sudden light appeared showing them a semi distant scene

"LAN WANGJI" A Seemingly older Jiang Cheng shouts at the equally older second master Lan who turned around and like wise coldly said "Jiang Wanyin"

"You, with the surname of Lan. Do me a favour and act flustered around your husband from time to time even if you don't feel like it" a blink from Lan WangJi showed his confusion causing Jiang Cheng to continue

"I mean, WHY should I be tortured and suffer from a sulking Wei WuXian who keeps on repeating a mantra of 'why does Lan Zhan not feel flustered around me anymore? Did he stop loving me? Am I no more attractive to him? Jiang Cheng do I look less sexy? Why do we no more do it everyday? Is he tired of me? Brother, do you think I gotta put makeup on to hide those dark circles? I've been staying up late lately working on some research. Do I need to get into diet? I know I gained some weight recently. *Gasp* Are we going to divorce? What about our children? Jiang Cheng say something! Do you hear me, chengcheng!?' while he's on the verge of tears. So for fuck's sake do something and show your husband your disgusting shameless love! I really don't want to hear about my brother's private affairs nor his body. And seriously look at me Lan WangJi! It's all because of you that my brother became this idiot in love. So take responsibility accordingly or I'm gonna break your legs"

Lan WangJi as if he wasn't concerned at Jiang Cheng's threats only said "I love Wei Ying, it just he needs to rest lately. He hurt his back two weeks ago, the healers said so. Otherwise, of course I want to ravish my Wei Ying"

Jiang Cheng screamed "STOP! YOU, I just said I don't want to hear about this" smirking Lan WangJi replied

"But I don't want to break your arms if you broke my legs, Wei Ying is going to feel bad twice over, both his husband and brother hurt and obviously I will be the one being taken care by Wei Ying"

Jiang WanYin's face turned sour, green and purple all at once

"You are one hell of brother in law" The foul mood Jiang Cheng said

"You are not any better, you know that" deadpanned Lan WangJi

"I so fucking much hate you, Lan -get-the-hell-out-my-sight- WangJi"

"Like a wise, Jiang -forever-single-grumpy-tsundere-  WanYin" countered a shit eating grinning Lan WangJi

"what" Jin Zixuan started "the fuck" the Yunmeng twin prides completed

Before Wei WuXian straight away flew out of the room

And just like that, Jin Zixuan's earlier comment was forgotten and rumours about WangXian were wide like wild fire

Chapter 2: Funny confusing glimpse of future

Chapter Text

"Sect leader Jiang" came a hurried voice

"Yes? Sect leader Lan" the addressed Jiang Wanyin replied, confusion colouring his eyes at Lan Xichen's unusual sight.

He was panting as if had been running, talking in a voice that's edging to beg, and he was here in Yunmeng, in lotus pier at a time that has nothing to do with business

"Jiang Wanyin, I beg you, just one week, only one week. Please let them stay here only for that duration!"

Ah, it makes sense now. Lan XiChen was tired of his brother and his husband and their shameless selves, and he's now trying to throw them on him.

"No" was his answer. "What! Why?" Was the counterattack

"What do you mean 'why' , I'm not crazy to let them stay here even for two days. Forget a whole damn seven days! They are the true definition of shamelessness

"Jiang Wanyin! You can't do that to me!"

"Yes I can, try me!"

"Okay let's calm down a little" Lan Xichen said, before continuing "how about 6 days? It has to work"

"Hell No!"

" Bloody hell Yes!"

Oh wow, it seems Lan Xichen is really pretty much out of it. Apparently his patience has worn off finally

But before Jiang Cheng could say something Lan Xichen went on "You, I'm only asking for one week, I need rest, my sect needs peace. Compared to lotus pier, cloud recesses is quite and mostly silent, so do you know how much that hurts? And I cannot even get up and leave on a long term night hunt because I'm the leader of that sect. I can't run away to find serenity and peace! So just take them for heaven's sake!"

"Why me? One of the culprits is your younger brother!"

H e shouted

"And my brother's husband is YouR older brother!"

Lan XiChen practically screamed it at his face

Okay, that's pretty serious if the usually calm seren Lan Huan courtesy XiChen acted like this.

After circling it once more in his head , Jiang Cheng lastly agreed. With a sigh

"Fine, but only for five days"

Lan XiChen quickly replied "Six" "Five" "SIX! Or I swear I'm gonna use every blackmail I have on you!"

Oh WOW , this man truly lost his shit. Wei WuXian, whatever have you done with that equally crazy husband of yours?

"Fine" . Hearing the 'okay' Lan Xichen finally allowed himself a nice enough breath. Relaxing as he went.

££££

Meanwhile, the classroom containing a bunch of 17 years old youths, including Wei WuXian, Lan WangJi, Jiang Wanyin, Nie Huaisang and Jin Zixuan. With of course, Lan Qiren as their teacher. Stood there open mouthed at the exchange they just witnessed

They were in the middle of trying arrays, one of which shows you something happened 2 to three hours in the past.

But apparently Jiang Wanyin had drawn the lines of time wrong, instead of past it became future, and instead of hours it became decades.

The room was dead silent until Lan Qiren clutched at his chest, clearly moved and shocked to the core, witnessing his prideful oldest nephew cussing and literally threatening another sect leader in the future.

But maybe what made him cough blood, was the realization of what the conversation they just heard implied .

That Lan WangJi and Wei WuXian were going to marry each other in the future.

And apparently, they are very shameless about it.

Oh dear, whatever they can do know? That these two started to get together far earlier than the past future WangXian

Chapter Text

"LAN QIREN!"

Wei WuXian thundered as he barged in the elder's study.

He walked over to him and towered the man glaring daggers at him,

"Hold the reins of those bastards who call themselves elders of your clan and chain them before I put them in their rightful place myself! Six feet under ground." Seethed a bright red eyed Wei WuXian, whom one can nearly see steam coming out of his ears, a strange eerie hue akin to lightning from his eyes.

It was crystal clear that he was in his highest degree of anger. His tone was raged after all.

"Wha-! WEI WUXIAN What is this disrespect!? You are to be punishe-" Lan Qiren's loud retreat was met with an equally loud shout.

"Enough of this crap old man! You do not deserve any respect from me, much less to punish me! It is out of your authority. And those elders are the least deserving of my forgiveness let alone respect!"

The formerly known as Yiling Patriarch didn't even stop to catch his breath before continuing berating his uncle in law, who never for once acted like one.

"Honorable? Respectable? Don't joke with me, your sense of humour is awful." -'Just like you' went unsaid but not unheard- "What is wrong with these elders of your sect? Do they not learn? Anyway, you are my husband's uncle, 'family' and this is the only reason I haven't killed you for, but those bastards are not.

I actually hate them enough but they have not even one brain cell, first enforcing a punishment on my husband that could have crippled him if not killed him, then belittling my son, trying to kill my daughter and now attempting to harass the other as in raping her? That is so much for crossing a line. And YOU! You tried to cover for them!?

They are not only my children but also your nephew's!"

Feeling his throat tighten from anger, Wei WuXian continued in a lower voice

"Tell me old man, what in this doesn't scream 'come and kill me cruelly'?"

His voice dropped another octave, a threatening tone laced his voice, despite it not being an actual threat, it is a promise, "And you know what? I'm all too inclined to do so. My fingers are all too happy itching me to follow through with that."

The man's tired soul cannot calm itself, it keeps on boiling and boiling, threatening to explode like a silent, angry volcano..

"No wonder, that former sect leader preferred secluding himself than to see those ugly faces, who forced themselves on his wife, made her to be acknowledged as murderer then imprisoning her.

Poor man had no clue how to save his beloved.

So much for your renowned , famed reputation of 'respecting one's love, for Lan only loves once' ...say, lan Qiren"

Wei WuXian's voice dropped even lower, his hands loosened up his strong hold on ChengQin , his stance one of sarcasm and looking down on the other, while his tone is boarding on pity but nonetheless a 'these are facts no nonsense' one "You have never felt love in your life, have you? Not from your parents, sibling and certainly not from yourself. Oh how pitiful, truly.. After all, even the respect your nephews held for you disappeared."

Feeling no need for further say, Wei WuXian turned around making his robes flutter behind him and started walking towards the exit.

"I'm taking my children with me to Yunmeng, Lan Zhan is free to come and visit you here if he wants, however he's gonna live with us there. If he wants to still call me husband, and them his children."

Stopping in front of the door Wei Ying thought of something and asked Lan Qiren about it "You weren't this hostile towards us at the beginning, at least not to your great nephews and nieces. Is this because you discovered that my mother was a Wen? Because she was Wen Ruohan's illegitimate sister? Because I have Wen blood in my veins? How.. disappointing, truly"

His eyes held both disgust and disappointment the further he spoke.

With that, the man with Wei surname left Lan Qiren's office study, leaving a shell of a man there drained of human colour.

❄️❄️💤❄️❄️🌨️❄️❄️

The gathered sect leaders who were in the middle of discussing solutions for this year's drought and got interrupted so suddenly by an extremely furious voice earlier, were left stunned.

For, this apparently was a viewing from future, of Wei WuXian's and Lan Qiren's to be exact.

Not only had they heard some unsavoury facts about Gusu Lan, but also that Wen Ruohan had a sister, who actually was Cangse Sanren! Oh wow, look at the catch.

The room's temperature suddenly dropped, and Wen Ruohan's chilly voice sounded and vibrated around the hall -so similar to Wei WuXian earlier tone- "What.. is the meaning of this, acting sect leader Lan?"

Not a question. A demand, an order even.

Notes:

If you haven't noticed, WWX spoke of LWJ in a tone as if he's angry with him which is true, because LWJ knew of the bullying (except the harassment to his daughters) his children faced but did nothing. So Wei WuXian felt rage even towards his beloved.

--
If you are wondering what happens later in the past timeline, You can say that after the meeting ended, Wen Ruohan went straight to gusu and literally demanded his nephew to go back with him. Cutting his ties with Yunmeng Jiang (because he knows of YZY treatment of WWX there along with JFM willful ignorance/indifference) and strictly keeping him away from Lan sect members while judging LWJ very hard to confirm if he's a suitable husband to his nephew or not. Because no matter if WRH is a maniac, criminal, tyrant or not Wen are Wen and they deserve the best.

I may write this more widely in the future but I think it is complete like this as well.

Chapter 4: QingHeng Jun's prophecy brings him out of seclusion

Summary:

The original plan: Let's write about QingHeng Jun having dreams about his shameless son eloping with his beloved with no care to the world because they hurt them, and so he plans a marriage proposal from now to spare his son long long years of waiting.

The result: Let's give him a nightmare instead, it's much better!😁😉

Notes:

CW: Mentioned death, mentioned revenge. Lan WangJi is just so fucking tired with his messed up family.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

QingHeng Jun had some dreams. More like nightmares in his seclusion. Usually they were of his past wrongdoing with his wife, with his children and his brother and clan. Other times were of his bad choices and the bad side of their Lan blood. The greed of when they love.

Being decedents of dragons has it downs just as much as it has its ups. After all.

But lately he has been dreaming of something different, something weird and cannot be believable if not for the fact he had never met Wei WuXian. And certainly he is sure that his youngest is still teenager at the age of 18.

His dreams were about his son holding his sword against his uncle, brother and elders, one time was to protect his beloved from them and the other for taking his beloved from him. Yet again.

Lan WangJi screamed 'You've killed him twice, is this not a demand to kill me? You even took my son from me. Even our newly born daughter!' and QingHeng Jun never ever wants to see that tearful face again. It haunts him.

Not just because he doesn't like his son's crying face, but also because it held madness in it. As if his youngest has broken beyond repair with nothing attaching him to life except the revenge lust so clear in his features.

What scared him even more was WangJi's cool and numb face, his voice betraying no emotions when he said:

Lan WangJi to Lan Qiren "I am not my father. Father hides, I kill"

Ow that hurts. It stabbed him rightfully in his heart.

And just like that, the Lan sect was no more.

And Lan QingZhao didn't even feel bad for it.

Yes, one of them was his brother while the other his eldest son. But he didn't even try to mourn the elders or other disciples.

They were the ones to take his wife from him.

And QingHeng Jun would never ever blame Lan WangJi for doing what he did.

However..

Now it seems time to finish his seclusion has come. Lan QingZhao cannot continue hiding when the future is something horrible like that.

He cannot let his son go through that pain of losing his loved one ever again. And certainly not like that. Twice as he said. However possible that was.

Would meeting his two sons first be acceptable or should he start with his future Son-in-law?

What was his name again? Wei WuXian? Is he Wei ChangZe's kid? He must be genius then.

The End.

Notes:

You may complete it however your imagination deems .

Chapter 5: Big Brother 'drunkenly' fix things

Summary:

This is the original idea for my 'Brother drunkenly fix things' fanfic.

This is short but I guess it works as a oneshot. So why not

Notes:

Time travel fix it.

Chapter Text

Lan XiChen looked around him confused with a foolish wide smile and spotted his baby brother , but guess what? His lovely brother looks younger, a little bit of meat on cheeks is still showing. He wants to squeeze it. He will! He is Huan-dada after all. This is his didi

WangJi looked at him with that cute curious look in his eyes, his didi is the best didi "A-Zhan" he said "a-zhan , let this dada hug you" Lan XiChen went to the visibly stricken Lan WangJi and rubbed his right cheek to his brother's face while hugging him. Then he gasped all of a sudden

"A-Zhan, where is brother in law? A-Zhan, Don tell me *little gasp* you fought with WuXian again? *Gasp* didi you can't do that! A-Xian is still tired with the birth and his recent miscarriage. By the way, where is my cutest squeeziest nephew? I want to hold him again "

And XiChen continued smiling like a fool the whole time.

Not noticing how he traumatized the whole hall who were in the middle of discussing how to act with Wei WuXian, the newly titled Yiling Patriarch.

Lan Qiren just fainted.

And Wei WuXian who was currently playing a lullaby to little A-Yuan sneezed.

Chapter 6: Jealousy

Summary:

We often find Jealous Lan WangJi. But have you tried jealous Wei WuXian?

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Okay, I admit. I was the one who told him multiple times to smile more often

Because let us be honest, whenever he just showed his little precious smile that can be shy, embarrassed or adoring depending on his mood I just swoon over him and totally start melting. His warm eyes go so soft and loving that I can't help but to have an urge to cry to the world and show them how precious this is. How much I love him!

But as I look at him smiling at these maidens and young men who in turn feel their heart do a little jump and start flattering while giving him heart eyes, Wei WuXian found himself regretting pressuring his Lan Zhan to smile at other people as well.

At the beginning it was fine and nice, for people were recognising his Hanguang-Jun for his sweet side as well. It was fun teasing Lan Zhan afterwards too.

But I didn't think it would come to a point where Lan Zhan wouldn't be able to give me his full attention because he's busy smiling at other people who are NOT even family!

Not to forget that those people dare think they can get MY husband onto their beds! It happened so repeatedly these past few weeks that I'm tempted to just remind them who Lan WangJi's husband actually was.

Also, how come that good man of mine can be so shameless with me nonstop but be unable to recognize their honey coated words for what they are? Invitations to sex!! Have they no shame?

It is not even funny or hilarious anymore!

And would you look at that, Lan Zhan is smiling so beautifully squeezing my heart here and letting out his small paff of air that is his own cute version of laughter to something that young lady just said. The audacity!

I can't stand this anymore, he is mine and my man only.

Therefore I took to my feet and went to Lan Zhan circling my arms around his left arm and leaning towards his shoulder more, and said:

"Lan Zhan, this husband of yours needs attention too" of course I didn't forget to flutter my eyelashes at him . I know this horny man gets so turned on by this move.

And as expected, Lan Zhan's breath hitched. But unexpectedly, he had nerves to tell me to wait!

Wait? Me? His beloved sweet dangerous husband Whom he loves to call wifey? Wei Ying? I need to wait for him to finish talking to this average pretty woman who is shamelessly still flirting with a married person? No sir, not on his watch.

Don't get me wrong, I believe and trust Lan Zhan and his loyalty to me as spouses but that doesn't mean I can't get jealous too..

Therefore I untangled my arms from around him and instead went to his collar fisting it in my palm while letting my voice lower dangerously, warningly

"Look here Lan WangJi, You are my man,my husband, mine. Mine to love, mine to flirt with and mine to smile at. I warn you my beloved, smile to someone that is not me, not our family and they die. Capitch?"

And in all honesty, I wasn't joking. No matter what Lan Zhan says, I have my own bad possessive side that can be more risky than of the Lans.

I looked up at his eyes and saw the want in them. The lust, the desire to eat. To eat me

Good. That is good. This is my good obeying loving man. I'll make sure he remembers that even more that he does.

If he wants to swoon someone's heart with his smile, it must be mine. If he wants to receive flirting, it's gotta be mine. If he feels turned on, the responsible for it must be me.

Tonight apparently will be a very long night.

Bonus:

Wei Ying keeps on telling me to smile more often but I only feel the urge to smile when I am with him. When the topic is him.

However I find myself smiling nowadays to people who are not Wei Ying, but it is because they say something good about Wei Ying, or about something good Wei Ying invented.

Like this maiden right now, she was explaining to him how Wei WuXian's invention saved her life more than once or twice. Therefore he could not help himself not smiling widely and even laughing when she mentioned something adorably funny about his beloved.

But nothing could have warned him from the surprise Wei Ying bestowed upon him all of sudden.

First he looked cutely jealous and it was so adorable WangJi just had to try and see what would happen if he refused what Wei Ying wanted.

But then Wei Ying used his courtesy name and that caused him to panic. Because both of them used each other's courtesy names for only two to three times. When they first met, when Wei Ying was upset and frustrated with him whenever Lan WangJi mentioned his cultivation path and his wish to bring Wei WuXian back to Gusu, and finally now.

Nevertheless, it seems he panicked for naught because what Wei Ying said next was so sexy and attractive that it was hard for Hanguang-Jun to contain his need to jump on his husband right there, right then.

Oh, he is so in love with this man.

Notes:

I tried to write in the present tense instead of past tense or passive voice structure. However I'm not sure if I succeeded.

Let me know what you think of this oneshot.
Albeit it came out differently from what I imagined, it's still pretty.. good for me.

Chapter 7: Go on, Apologize!

Summary:

Modern Wei WuXian
Modern settings
Revenge.

Chapter Text

As the tall man looked down at them, blood marrying his jaded face, his wonderful long black hair wasn't spared either from being smudged by gore, he let his lips utter two simple sentences in response to their plea:

Come On. Apologize!

The tall prestigious walls of the Jiang clan residence; the majestic lilac purple of the buildings, periwinkle floors that have always been so beautiful and pristine, so pleasant to one's eyes are now smeared with blood.

The blood is covering everywhere a human's eyes can reach. Old and fresh blood. The horrible smell is so strong and jarring that it can't be covered no matter what.

Grown ups, children, toddlers and animals; all were slaughtered in cold blood.

Even plants were burnt. Nothing was spared.

The scene was so dreadful that it's surely to be engraved on the future generations minds. To not repeat the same mistake.

However the main building has it worse. It's alight on fire.

Large grisly fire eating at every corner of the formerly fantastic place.

The culprit? Is closing the doors behind him to lock the entire Jiang family inside.

A sinister crazed smile on his face, empty dead grey mixed with red eyes looking forward at everything yet at nothing at the same time; Wei WuXian exited the Jiang property lands. His former family.

The family who killed his child.

If his child was bound to die by their logic, then their children will not live either.

The person who had valued lives and children above everything else, lost his desire to see the good in people the moment his son was murdered.

And they have never shown him the good in them to begin with.

He is vaguely aware of his surroundings. He can see his husband's pained and reserved face. -His sad eyes, yet so supportive.- out the corner of his eyes. Far at the end of the pathway he is walking.

Right, he wasn't the only one to lose his son. Lan Zhan too, was a-Yuan's father.

Chapter Text

It was a chilly sunny day as usual in gusu. With the cool breez coming from the east and north of the mountain that cloud recesses took residence in.

Cloud Recesses is as calm and quite as it can be with Wei WuXian being there. Although this time, something is weird..

The place is unusually silent, and the Jingshi is really deserving its name for now. Because it is indeed a silent room/home right now.

And that fact was what showed there is something wrong. Because Wei WuXian is never quite, and when he is.. it means problems.

Apparently what happened was that :

•FlashBack•

When Wei WuXian woke up this morning he noticed something is not right, something strange.

He is awake at 5 am!

Yeah true, he has those times he wakes up at 6:30 to 7 am instead of 9 but they are rare.

And, this? This has never happened even when he was living in the burial mounds.

So he stands up, gets out of his bed and he doesn't miss the slight difference of height nor the fathom ache in his back that he hasn't experienced in years.

Wei Ying walked to the mirror in the other side of the bedroom and stood Infront of it gapping.

There.. In front of him, the Silhouette reflecting on the mirror is not him!!

It was .. Lan WangJi's.

Lan Zhan face was facing him , greeting him with that unreal, surreal godly beauty and grace.

Wei WuXian turned around and run to his husband who is weirdly, unusually and uncharacteristically still in bed to check if he was in his body or not.

More accurately, Mo XuanYu's body.

There, in the middle of the bed was his new body laying naked with eyes flattering trying hard to open so the owner can wake up.

Indeed, trust Lan Zhan to fall asleep while middle talking, middle fucking or in the middle of some argument. And to wake up exactly at 5:00 am no matter the case or how exhausted he is.

Well there was an exception which is war but otherwise he is still strict on this one rule. It is just in his body system, carved on it.

"Lan Zhan! Lan Zhan!" Wei WuXian called ignoring how weird he felt calling his husband with the usually calm unhurried baritone voice while being inside the addressed man body.

"Lan Zhan, there is something wrong. Wake up"

At Wei Ying 's call , Lan Zhan opened his eyes; golden eyes looking around in search for his husband who was standing at the end of their bed.

"Morning Wei Ying." Wangji said then formed a thin line with his lips thinking of something and asked ... "What happened?"

The thing is, Lan WangJi is used to physical fathom pain on his back and shoulders; of course upper arms too. But somehow he doesn't feel them now but instead his lower back is what hurts him.

'Weird' , he thought.

"Lan Zhan! We .. We exchanged our bodies. Is that what they call body swap or something?"

Dazed with this sudden information Lan WangJi tried to think back to every book and scroll he has read to see if knows something about this situation they are in.

Finding nothing he inquired his Wei Ying "But why? How?" , "That is what I don't know but I think I have read something about it in a book placed inside your forbidden library so I have to go check it real fast" "Mn".

That was how Wei Ying now in WangJi's body went sneakily to the forbidden part of Gusu's library.

°Time Skip°

"So~ this thing is stimulated by three kinds of energy, and looking back to our yesterday's love making we did let out some of our spiritual, resentful energy which are two and with the incense burner near to us it got activated.. hmm interesting (☞^o^) ☞"

Wei Ying kept on repeating and explaining what the book said until he found what he was looking for

"However we don't have to worry much, as it says here it takes only one day to wear off. We can rest assured Lan Zhan "

Wei WuXian said while giggling to his husband but said husband only deadpanned with his exasperated fondness expression "Wei Ying, It says we shall not let anyone know of our situation to wear off in a day, otherwise it'll take a full week with some danger of something to go wrong with our souls when the week ends"

"A.. ah huh, yea yeah I see. .. Wait! So does that mean I have to act like you for a WHOLE DAY!??" "Mn, that what is hinted to" Lan Zhan replied amused by his cute husband 's antics .

"Lan Zhan I love you, I really do but I cannot complete even half day acting like you do(༎ຶ ෴ ༎ຶ)" "Wei Ying can do it^_^" again, far too amused by this, Lan Zhan let his lips lift to form a small smile and managed to kiss his husband who is still wailing on every inch of his beautiful face.

"Ah~huu (╥﹏╥) that is not fair! You are too happy to see me crying like this Lan Zhan" "Not true"

^Time skip^

When it was time for Lan WangJi to go greet his uncle, Wei WuXian was already dreading it.

And true to his guts a fit of yawning took over him while saying a "WangJi greets shuf~" which lead to a nervous SiZhui and a frightened Lan QiRen who ended up adding punishment to him on top of his duties!!

Who punishes Hanguang-Jun over something like yawning?! Seriously that old goat! Wei WuXian decided that his birthday gift to his uncle in law will be a shaved bear.. just wait and see!

And so , while Wei WuXian was dying and suffering from all the writing he has to do ; Lan WangJi was living the best of his life currently at the bunnies field lazing around and patting every rabbits comes across him

Who knew his husband's usual laziness here would be so lovely and calming to the soul. He cannot fault Wei Ying for it. Not like he did in the first place.

And so the evening came and a worn out Wei WuXian returned home only for his eyes to get filled with tears at the sight of his husband who was waiting for him at the door.

Later that evening Lan Zhan did nothing to move away a very clingy wiping Wei Ying from him.

The next morning, Wei Ying woke up at 9 as usual. In his own new body.

With warm food waiting for him on the table in the Jingshi.

Chapter 9: Crazy Hanguang-Jun

Summary:

Simply, Lan WangJi lost his sanity during the discipline whip punishment.

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

With each lash, Lan WangJi's soul broke, with each lash, his grief of losing Wei Ying grew, with each lash, his anger towards his family increased, with each lash, Lan Zhan doubted his beliefs, values and rules, one after another the whip lashes kept meeting his back leaving deep scars behind them. With each lash he regretted ever standing against Wei WuXian, with each lash, Hanguang-Jun laughed in grief and disbelief, with each lash, his hatred towards the cultivation world, no, towards the whole world intensified and most importantly; with each lash, Lan WangJi lost his sanity.

How dare they take Wei Ying from him? How dare they kill the angelic Wei Ying? How dare they kill A-Yuan? How dare his uncle participate in that grievous crime? How dare his brother allow their sect to attack a defenseless Wei Ying?

How dare they talk about righteousness when they're the ones siding with evil? Hypocrites much! But before all, how dare Wei Ying leave him?

Why? Because Lan WangJi who had the means to help didn't offer it? Because the 'righteous' Hanguang-Jun kept fighting Wei WuXian every two seconds about his cultivation?

Because he didn't believe and put his trust in Wei WuXian as he had promised? Indeed, why would he not leave a pathetic person like him? He did nothing to help him but anger him over and over again, until his beloved' last breath.

If only he got a chance, he will do everything to save Wei WuXian. Whether he got called evil, demon or devil it doesn't matter.

As long as he gets Wei Ying back, alive and happy, Lan WangJi is willing to unalive everyone who gets in his way. He will burn this world just for him to hear one other laugh from his dearest Wei Ying.

And if it means he will turn insane to have that, then so be it!

With a face twisting from an anguished laugh into a disturbing maniac smile, the second master of gusu Lan activated an array he had found when visiting the cave Wei Ying lived in.

§§§

Basking in those stupid, sinful people's blood, Lan WangJi found himself remembering the point that started all of this. All the purification he started which the common people liked to call mass murder.

As if! He is only and solely decontaminating the world from serious pollution.

So what if he had manipulated Wei Ying into believing that they were married? That the people he had got rid of are nothing but criminals with disguise of saints? It doesn't matter.

After all, he got to have a healthy 17 years old happy Wei Ying in his life.

It was worth turning the time back multiple times.

*Author Notes*

As you can see, this was a vaguely explained fic.
LWJ here is a man who lost his morals, beliefs and sanity. It's not shown but he has killed, bathed in half of jianghu's blood.

He came back the first time to when the siege on WWX happened, rendering him unable to protect his beloved, then he came back again to when the war started, after Wei Ying had been thrown in BM, still couldn't save him. Then finally he went back to the time right before the archery competition. Telling WWX that they had been married inside the cold springs, then kind of Brainwashing him into believing that the people he kills are bad.

3rd point, this fic takes place mainly in the MDZS world, yet takes after the timeline of the untamed during WWX's death/siege. That's why LWJ is being punished after WWX's death and not 3 months before. And yes, Wen Yuan dies here.

Finally, yep, I'm still on hiatus. This just played in my mind today during my second lecture, so I wrote it down. Albeit a lil different.

Chapter 10: Crazy Hanguang-Jun [Re-Write]

Summary:

A modified version of chapter 9.

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

With each lash, Lan WangJi's soul shattered; his grief for losing Wei Ying deepened, his anger towards his family intensified, and doubts about his beliefs, values, and rules emerged. The whip lashes etched deep scars on his back, each one a painful reminder. He regretted standing against Wei WuXian, and with each lash, Hanguang-Jun laughed in grief and disbelief, fostering hatred for the cultivation world and the entire world. Most importantly, with each lash, Lan WangJi lost his sanity.

The audacity of taking Wei Ying from him, killing the angelic Wei Ying and A-Yuan—his uncle's participation in the grievous crime, his brother allowing their sect to attack a defenseless Wei Ying—all fueled his rage! The hypocrisy of those who talked about righteousness while siding with evil infuriated him. But above all, how dare Wei Ying leave him?

Why did Wei WuXian leave? Was it because Lan WangJi, who had the means to help, didn't offer it? Because the 'righteous' Hanguang-Jun incessantly fought Wei WuXian about his cultivation? Because Lan WangJi didn't believe and trust Wei WuXian as promised? In fact, Why wouldn't Wei Ying leave a pathetic person like him? He did nothing but provoke anger until his beloved's last breath.

Given a chance, Lan WangJi vowed to do anything to save Wei WuXian. He'd face any label—evil, demon, or devil—as long as he reclaimed Wei Ying, alive and happy. Lan WangJi was ready to vanquish anyone obstructing his path, willing to burn the world for another laugh from his dearest Wei Ying.

If turning insane was the cost, so be it!

With an anguished laugh twisting into a disturbing maniacal smile, Gusu Lan's second master activated an array discovered in Wei Ying's cave.

Bathed in the blood of those he deemed foolish and sinful, Lan WangJi recalled the catalyst—his purification efforts branded as mass murder by common people.

He scoffed at the accusation, viewing it as decontaminating the world from serious pollution. Manipulating Wei Ying into believing they were married, eliminating those disguised as saints—it didn't matter. Having a healthy, happy 17-year-old Wei Ying in his life made it all worthwhile.

Turning back time  for more than 5 times was a small price to pay.

All for Wei Ying. They should have known better than touching a Lan's love interest. Especially, Lan WangJi's.

Chapter 11: Depressed Gusu

Notes:

Plan for this oneshot:
_Wei WuXian wanders around Gusu with an empty soul after losing his 3 months old toddler due to her weak heart. He hugged her tightly while she was dying, then broke up in a hysterical cry after her last breath. Her death after 3 months of being born brought back his trauma of his 3 months of hell years ago. Even the Jianghu mourned with him, Unused to this state of him.
_Wei WuXian is a man who was forced to watch his toddler daughter dying between his hands because there was no saving her.
_LWJ feels himself withering away and shattering at his beloved's unhealthy state.
_The Jianghu used to have enmity and hatred towards Wei WuXian, but even they, 'the cultivation world' knew not to touch a hurt, injured, grieving Predator. For, Wei WuXian was nothing but a predator to them. The most scariest criminal. The man who has shown them horrors before.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

In the quiet streets of Gusu, Wei WuXian wandered, his soul as empty as the void left by the loss of his precious daughter. The weight of her fragile body lingered in his arms, and the haunting memory of her last breath echoed through his shattered heart.

Grieving silently, he revisited the nightmares of his past, the Burial Mounds where cannibalism became a gruesome necessity. The echoes of desperate cries and the taste of desperation still haunted him, threatening to consume him once more.

As Wei WuXian's husband, Lan Zhan witnessed his beloved wither away in the wake of their daughter's demise, he felt the foundation of their love crumbling. The shared pain was a silent chasm, widening between them.

Lan WangJi was afraid of losing his husband again. Caught between the grief of losing his 3 months toddler and the fear of yet again losing Wei Ying, left him trembling in terror.

Wei WuXian, despite having his husband by his side, found himself adrift in a sea of sorrow, unable to anchor his shattered soul. Each passing moment felt like a descent into an abyss of nothingness. He clung to the memories of his daughter, haunted by the helplessness he felt watching her slip away. The warmth of his husband's presence offered little solace in the face of this profound loss.

In the midst of Wei WuXian's despair, his brother Jiang Cheng, whose heart had long been hardened by enmity, felt an unexpected crack. The walls that stood tall against his older brother's existence began to crumble. Jiang Wanyin found himself unable to harbor hatred toward the one who had sacrificed so much for their family, especially witnessing the depths of Wei WuXian's grief.

Jiang Cheng's heart softened as he recognized the shared pain between them. The bond of brotherhood, strained by past conflicts, now revealed its enduring strength. He couldn't continue to hold resentment towards Wei WuXian, nor towards his brother-in-law, who shared in the anguish of losing his niece.

In this fragile moment, Jiang Cheng's protective instincts flared. Anyone who had dared to poison his late niece would face a wrathful reckoning.

The siblings, once torn apart by tragedy and misunderstandings, found themselves united in the face of a grief that transcended past grievances.

...

In the Jianghu, where enmity and hatred once thrived towards Wei WuXian, a somber understanding spread. Even the cultivation world dared not touch this grieving predator, for he was a man who had shown them the depths of horror. Now, he was a shattered soul, mourning in a way that silenced even the most hardened hearts.

The world mourned with Wei WuXian, the once-feared criminal, now a vulnerable predator grappling with a loss that transcended the boundaries of the Jianghu.

Notes:

Hello yet again 👋🏼 Yes, I'm still on hiatus and yes, I still have some weird shit to revise for the exams but I just couldn't hold back from writing this intruding idea for a fanfic. Honestly the inspiration for this has sadly come from a true story of a mother who had to watch her 6 months old baby day from a weak heart. May the child rest in peace.

Also, if you have noticed, I've tried to change the writing to a more formal way of a short story than a fanfic, which is.. weird. Like really, I was re-reading this while I edited it and it felt off. So I probably won't write in this style any time soon.

Please let me know in the comments how you felt about this while reading it.

I hope you've enjoyed it.

Chapter 12: Drunk Lan Zhan

Summary:

Basically what the title says

Notes:

Indirect drunken shenanigans.

Chapter Text

In the heart of Yunmeng, the yearly discussion conference was in full swing. Lan WangJi, known for his unwavering righteousness and abstinence from vices, found himself unwittingly caught in a comedic whirlwind.

Mistaking alcohol for his usual fruit tea, Lan WangJi's low alcohol tolerance led to a series of unexpected events. As the liquor worked its way through his system, the usually composed Lan WangJi began a tirade of colorful curses directed at sect leaders he deemed foolish, idiotic, and downright annoying.

"Hypocritical fools," he muttered with a shake of his head, unaware of the uproar he was causing among the conference attendees. His scathing comments left everyone stunned, but the true spectacle was yet to come.

Turning to his husband, Wei WuXian, Lan WangJi transformed from a critic to a shameless flirt in the blink of an eye. Declarations of love and romantic compliments spilled forth, leaving Wei WuXian torn between laughter and disbelief. His husband's shameless antics turned him into a bright red tomato, his face a canvas of love and embarrassment.

'And they called me a SHAMELESS flirt!' Wei Ying thought.

Jiang Cheng, witnessing his brother's shameless display of affection, couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy. His virgin heart yearned for a love of its own, and as he watched Lan WangJi's shameless flirting, he couldn't help but hope for his turn to come soon.

On the other hand, Lan XiChen, amused by the hilarious turn of events, cackled with unrestrained laughter. The dignified Lan WangJi, usually a paragon of composure, had become the unintentional star of the Yunmeng conference, providing unexpected entertainment for all.

News of Lan WangJi's unexpected antics during the conference reached the ears of Lan Qiren, and the severity of the situation hit him like a comedic sledgehammer. The stern elder, known for his strict adherence to rules, fainted in a way that could only be described as tragically comical, leaving those around him torn between concern and stifled laughter.

Meanwhile, the Lan Juniors, who were not part of the conference but heard the tales, lamented their absence, regretting that they had missed out on the uproarious spectacle. Imagining their usually stoic senior cursing and then shamelessly flirting provided them with a newfound appreciation for the unpredictability of life in Yunmeng.

As the laughter echoed through the Cloud Recesses, Lan WangJi awoke the next day with a lingering sense of shame. However, that feeling quickly dissipated as he cast his eyes upon Wei WuXian, adorned with an impressive array of hickeys. Unable to suppress a satisfied smirk, Lan WangJi marveled at the evidence of their passionate night, the shame replaced by the glow of shared intimacy.

Chapter 13: Is It Really an Adoption Or..?

Summary:

Another/Second version of my other fanfic "Wen Ruohan's Proposal"

Chapter Text

In the tangled web of time, Wei WuXian found himself traversing the years, back to the era when the Qishan Wen sect held its infamous archery competition.

Tired, saddened, and harboring a healthy dose of anger toward the cultivation world, Wei WuXian contemplated declaring his departure from the Yunmeng Jiang sect once the event concluded.

However, fate had a peculiar twist in store. Enter Wen Ruohan, a man whose interests lay not in sect politics or vendettas, but in power, strength, and genius minds. Seizing the opportunity, Wen Ruohan, in all his imposing glory, suggested an unexpected turn of events-adopting Wei WuXian as his own son. More precisely, Wen Ruohan proposed that Wei WuXian become his third son and one of his heirs, right in front of the competition attenders.

Caught off guard and too weary to ponder the implications, Wei WuXian reluctantly agreed to the offer. Wen Ruohan, in response, couldn't help but smirk, let out a hearty laugh, and address Wei WuXian with a hint of amusement, "Well done, dear. My beloved Yiling Patriarch."

Surprisingly, Wei WuXian's reaction wasn't one of shock. He was dense and tired, not stupid, after all. His instincts hinted that Wen Ruohan was just like him-a fellow time traveler.

In the curious dance of time, Wen Ruohan's presence was accentuated by more than just his commanding aura. His long, red polished nails gleamed in the dim light as he touched his chin, a subtle display of elegance that hinted at a meticulous grooming routine.

With a smirk playing on his lips and mischief glinting in his eyes, Wen Ruohan extended those polished nails towards Wei WuXian's long, unruly hair. The sharp tips slid through the ebony strands, as if effortlessly combing them. It was a peculiar and intimate gesture, a juxtaposition of power and gentleness that left Wei WuXian both perplexed and oddly entranced.

As Wen Ruohan continued to run his fingers through Wei WuXian's hair, a thoughtful expression adorned his face. It was as though he was unraveling a mystery hidden within those dark locks. Wei WuXian, for his part, couldn't help but feel a strange connection forming between them-an unspoken understanding that transcended the bounds of time.

The air buzzed with enigma as Wen Ruohan's nails continued their delicate dance, leaving Wei WuXian to wonder about the secrets woven into the strands of his hair and the mysteries held within the folds of time itself. Ignorant of the fact that this encounter, marked by polished nails and inquisitive touches, would set the stage for an adventure through the corridors of history, where the past and future wove together in a tapestry of unforeseen destinies.

In the midst of the time-bending escapade, a moment of unintended comedy unfolded between Wei WuXian and Wen Ruohan. It was a curious dance of humor and a hint of something more, lingering on the edge of enemies-to-lovers romance.

After all, they were enemies first. Wei WuXian will never forget nor forgive what Wen Ruohan has done once upon a time. Neither will Wen Ruohan forecast the fact that Wei WuXian was able to annihilate his entire sect almost just by himself.

Caught in the temporal tangle, Wei WuXian, in his typical fashion, decided to break free from a particularly long and almost intimate stare with Wen Ruohan. Unfortunately for him, his own legs seemed to have a different agenda. With a not-so-graceful stumble, Wei WuXian found himself on the brink of a comical collision with the ground.

Before gravity could have its way, Wen Ruohan, in a surprising turn of events, swiftly intervened. His agile movements defied the stern exterior he usually wore, and he caught Wei WuXian by the waist-a move that didn't go unnoticed by the observing cultivators.

Wei WuXian, slightly flustered and utterly unprepared for this unexpected rescue, shot Wen Ruohan a bemused glance. There they stood, locked in a brief yet strangely lingering moment of eye contact, glazing crimson irises against cool cloudy silver, the air tinged with a mixture of amusement and an unspoken something more.

The surrounding cultivators, wide-eyed and open-mouthed, were treated to a spectacle that blurred the lines between humor and the subtle undercurrents of a budding connection. It was as if the universe had decided to play its own brand of romantic comedy, starring the most unexpected pair.

As Wei WuXian and Wen Ruohan shared that short yet infinitely long gaze, a myriad of expressions flitted across the faces of the onlookers-bewilderment, amusement, and perhaps a hint of anticipation for what might come next in this unpredictable journey through time.

But most certainly.. fear.

Little did they realize, this unintentional comedy act would become a footnote in the annals of their peculiar adventure, where the boundaries of enemies and something more became as fluid as the temporal currents they navigated together.

Amidst the temporal chaos, there was one burning question in Wei WuXian's mind: How on earth did Wen Ruohan know his title, the Yiling Patriarch? It was a mystery wrapped in the enigma of time travel, and Wei WuXian was determined to uncover the secrets that bound their destinies together. Little did he know that the journey through time held more surprises than he could ever anticipate.

Chapter 14: Jiang Vs. Lan Drama [Futures Entwined]

Summary:

Futures Entwined" unfolds as a mishap with an experimental artifact thrusts disciples from Cloud Recesses' past into a surprising vision of Wei Wuxian's future. Witnessing Jiang Cheng's fiery confrontation with Lan WangJi and the unexpected grand wedding in Yunmeng, the past clashes with the present. Amidst the chaos, relationships are redefined, secrets revealed, and even the strictest hearts in Cloud Recesses find themselves grappling with the unpredictable twists of fate.

Chapter Text

In the dimly lit room, empty bottles scattered around, Jiang Cheng scowled at Wei Wuxian, "So, tell me, how's life in Cloud Recesses after marrying that Lan WangJi of yours? Did you even have a proper wedding ceremony?"

Wei Wuxian, slightly tipsy, grinned, "Well, you see, Lan Zhan and I sort of eloped. No real ceremony for us."

Jiang Cheng raised an eyebrow, "Eloped? Seriously? You let Lan WangJi get away with that?"

Wei Wuxian chuckled, "Well, we did, and now we're living happily in Cloud Recesses."

Jiang Cheng scoffed, "Happily? You, in that uptight place? I find that hard to believe."

With a sigh, Wei Wuxian's expression turned more somber, "Actually, Jiang Cheng, it's not all rainbows. I'm practically banned from interacting with the disciples there. It hurts, you know?"

Jiang Cheng squinted, "Banned? What did you do to deserve that?"

Wei Wuxian pouted, "Nothing much. Just a bit of chaos and fun. Apparently, they prefer a quieter life."

"In other words, Lan Qiren is being his salty self!", Jiang WanYin deadpanned.

The next day, a hungover Wei Wuxian found himself in Lotus Pier, and Jiang Cheng barked, "Stay here until I return," before storming off.

Two days later, Jiang Cheng barged into the Gusu Lan sect, demanding to see his brother-in-law. Facing Lan WangJi, he snapped, "If you want Wei Wuxian back, you better court him properly and have a real wedding."

Lan WangJi, looking bewildered, mumbled, "Wei Ying is… where?"

Jiang Cheng glared, "You don't even know where your own husband is? Pathetic. He's in Lotus Pier, missing you or whatever. Now go and win him back properly!"

"I'm sorry, what?" , Lan WangJi was truly lost,

"Are you deaf or dumb? I meant, give him the ceremony he deserves!" Jiang WanYin practically growled at his face.

In a rush, Lan WangJi hurriedly gathered the best wedding gifts he could find in Gusu Lan, his normally composed demeanor replaced by a flurry of soft sobs.

Lan Zhan is soft and sad, and he wants his husband back!

Meanwhile, back in Lotus Pier, after he returned, Jiang Cheng couldn't resist a smirk, muttering to himself, "Let's see if Lan WangJi can handle this Jiang temper."

•TimeSkip•

In the bustling streets of Yunmeng, a grand procession approached Lotus Pier. Wei Wuxian, enjoying a peaceful day, was caught off guard when he heard the commotion. As he stepped outside, his eyes widened at the sight before him – a beautifully decorated wedding carriage led by a line of Lan disciples holding traditional red silk ribbons.

Jiang Cheng, standing beside Wei Wuxian, muttered, "What in the world is Lan WangJi doing here with all these... Rabbits?"

Before anyone could react, the carriage halted, and Lan WangJi stepped out in his pristine red robes. Holding a bouquet of red peonies, he approached Wei Wuxian with a determined expression.

Wei Wuxian stammered, "Lan Zhan, what's all this?"

Lan WangJi took a deep breath and declared, "Wei Ying, I am here to properly marry you."

The crowd gasped, and Jiang Cheng grumbled, "Finally, someone with sense."

Acting as if he had no hand in this.

Wei Wuxian blushed furiously, "Lan Zhan, you didn't have to do all this!"

Ignoring the protests, Lan WangJi gently placed the red ribbon on Wei Wuxian's wrist, saying, "I wish to make you my legitimate spouse, in front of everyone."

As the traditional wedding rituals unfolded, Jiang Cheng found himself torn between a grumpy scowl and a genuine smile. He muttered to himself, "Lan WangJi, you better make my brother happy. I can't believe I'm saying this, but... congrats."

Wei Wuxian, now adorned with red silk and surrounded by the vibrant energy of Yunmeng, couldn't help but smile. Lan WangJi, usually stoic, even managed a small, fond smile.

Jiang Cheng, ever the reluctant participant in such joyous occasions, scoffed, "Well, it's about time. Make sure you keep my idiot brother happy, Lan WangJi."

Wei Wuxian teased, "Don't worry, Jiang Cheng. I'm sure Lan Zhan has it all planned."

Jiang Cheng grumbled, "I still can't believe I'm witnessing a grand wedding for you two. Why do both of my siblings marry the men I dislike? Why must you have bad tastes?"

Wei Wuxian smirked, "Admit it, Jiang Cheng, you secretly enjoy the drama."

Jiang Cheng huffed, "I do not! Just be happy, you idiot."

As the festivities continued, Lotus Pier echoed with laughter, joy, and the unlikely celebration of Wei Wuxian's long-awaited proper wedding.

♪♪♪--------------------------------♪♪♪

In the quiet confines of a classroom in Cloud Recesses, a group of students, including Wei Wuxian, Jiang Cheng, Nie Huaisang, and Jin ZiXuan, were huddled around a peculiar artifact. As they experimented with it, a sudden surge of spiritual energy infused the room, causing an unexpected rift in time.

The disciples found themselves inexplicably drawn into a vision of the future, watching the unfolding events from Jiang Cheng's heated confrontation with Lan WangJi to the grand wedding ceremony in Yunmeng.

As the vision came to an end, the disciples found themselves back in the Cloud Recesses classroom, the artifact now dimmed. Nie Huaisang scratched his head, "Well, that was unexpected."

Wei Wuxian, now flustered and shy, avoided eye contact with everyone. Jiang Cheng, on the other hand, couldn't hide his irritation.

"What in the cultivation world did I just witness? Lan WangJi, a grand wedding in Yunmeng, and you, Wei Wuxian, blushing like a maiden! This is absurd," Jiang Cheng grumbled.

Wei Wuxian stammered, "Well, uh, it's not like I planned it, Jiang Cheng. It's this artifact fault."

Jin ZiXuan, trying to break the tension, awkwardly cleared his throat, "So, Wei Wuxian, you were... a cut-sleeve?"

Wei Wuxian, turning redder, mumbled, "Well, you know, love is love, and Lan Zhan is... Lan Zhan."

Jin ZiXuan nodded, genuinely surprised but not disgusted, "Fair enough. It's just unexpected, that's all."

"Lan WangJi really went all out for this, huh? That's not the stoic Gusu Lan we knew." He added, in wonder.

Meanwhile, in another part of Cloud Recesses, Lan QiRen, the stern disciplinarian, had witnessed the future vision. The shock and disbelief on his face were palpable. In the main hall, he stumbled and, unable to comprehend what he had seen, fainted.

Lan WangJi, rushing to his uncle's side, inquired, "Uncle, are you alright?"

Lan QiRen, regaining consciousness, muttered, "Lan WangJi, I just saw... impossible things. Wei Wuxian, a proper wedding, and Yunmeng Jiang in all its chaos. This cannot be real."

Lan WangJi, his usual composure slightly shaken, simply said, "Sometimes, reality surprises even the strictest minds, Uncle."

Back in the classroom, Wei Wuxian, still flustered, attempted to slip away unnoticed. However, Jiang Cheng blocked his path, muttering, "You better explain everything, Wei Wuxian. This is getting out of hand."

Wei Wuxian, scratching his head nervously, managed a sheepish smile, "Well, you see, Jiang Cheng, that will happen in the future, I have nothing to do with it now. Also, love is a funny thing. Sometimes, it takes you to unexpected places."

Jiang Cheng rolled his eyes, "Just don't drag me into your mess, and we'll be fine."

As the disciples continued their studies, the unexpected glimpse into the future left lingering questions and a sense of uncertainty. Yet, amid the confusion, there was a hint of acceptance, even from the sternest of hearts in the Cloud Recesses.

Chapter Text

In the aftermath of the Sunshot campaign, Lan WangJi found himself drawn to the shadows of his own desires, a place where right and wrong blurred into shades of gray. Amidst the scars of war, he observed Wei WuXian's wearied spirit, a soul longing for solace.

Lan WangJi, his voice a low murmur, said, "You've been through so much pain. Let me share your burden." His actions were subtle, a gentle touch here, a comforting word there, gradually weaving a web that entangled Wei WuXian's emotions.

The proposal came like a carefully calculated move. "I can offer you stability, protection," Lan WangJi proposed, his words a mixture of promise and manipulation. Wei WuXian, tired and longing for a haven, accepted without realizing the strings attached.

As the truth unraveled, because Wei Ying was never stupid. Wei WuXian confronted Lan WangJi, his eyes filled with betrayal. "You said it was all for me," he accused. "When you've caught on, I'm already gone," Lan WangJi confessed, his voice tinged with regret. "I am not the innocent you thought me to be." In the darkness of their shared truth, Lan WangJi awaited Wei WuXian's judgment, a dance of shadows cast by a love tainted with manipulation and desire.

As Lan WangJi bared his soul, confessing the shades of gray that painted his actions, he felt the weight of anticipation. Wei WuXian's eyes, a tempest of emotions, reflected betrayal and hurt. Yet, there was something more profound in their depths.

"You said it was all for me," Wei WuXian repeated , accused, his voice laced with pain. Lan WangJi met his gaze with a mixture of remorse and unwavering determination. "You've got me feeling guilty, for tricking and taking everything from you," Lan WangJi reiterated, his own turmoil laid bare.

In the tense silence that followed, Wei WuXian's expression shifted. The storm within his eyes softened, replaced by a glimmer of understanding. He stepped closer, a hesitant smile forming on his lips. "Your actions may be gray, Lan Zhan, but your love isn't. I see that now."

Loving you is a crime

Lan WangJi, taken aback by the unexpected acceptance, found solace in Wei WuXian's touch. As they shared a tender kiss, Lan Qiren's warnings echoed in his mind. . "You are a Lan, your father's son. Be careful when you love, be honest when you love. Contain the monster within you." The cautionary words about the Lan beast and the consequences of unbridled love resonated in the quiet corridors of his conscience. "Unless you want them to yield from you. Or worse, face your mother's fate..". His mother's fate, a fate of killing herself out of helplessness.

As they continued walking together, inseparable, Lan WangJi couldn't shake his uncle's words. "If you can't leash the beast, don't fall in love. If you fell in love, run" The weight of responsibility settled on his shoulders, a reminder of the delicate balance he must maintain.

A whisper of doubt lingered in the air, but as Wei WuXian stayed by his side, choosing love over caution, Lan WangJi found a peculiar kind of peace. The old warning, "Run and spare the poor soul from your grasp," echoed in a far corner of his mind, but in the warmth of Wei WuXian's presence, Lan WangJi dared to believe that love could temper even the darkest corners of his soul.

All not knowing, that the one being manipulated all this time, has been none other than Lan WangJi himself.

Well, where's the harm? It's what he wanted all along anyway, Wei Ying just fits him so well. They complete each other wonderfully.

Chapter Text

Feeling the weight of our child growing within me, I marveled at the wonders of male pregnancies, a natural occurrence in our world.

As the due date approached, Lan WangJi, my loving husband, stood by my side, his unwavering support grounding me through every pang and twinge.

During those restless nights, I couldn't help but feel guilty as I shuffled to the bathroom, the IV pole clattering beside me.

Despite my attempts to be quiet, I inevitably woke Lan WangJi with each trip. But instead of annoyance, he greeted me with humor and concern, urging me to wake him for assistance to avoid any mishaps.

Saying some things like: "Man! Wake me up to help you get to the bathroom before you wind up falling and getting hurt!"

As labor intensified, the pain in my lower back became unbearable. Lan WangJi didn't hesitate to join me in the birthing tub, fully clothed, his hands working magic to soothe my aching muscles. His presence never wavered, his love and support a constant source of strength.

"I can't imagine going through this without you," I whispered, tears pricking at the corners of my eyes.

"You'll never have to," he replied, his voice steady and reassuring. "I'm here, Wei Ying. Always."

I couldn't help but reflect on the stories of other men who didn't show the same level of compassion after witnessing their partners endure childbirth. But with Lan WangJi, there was only tenderness and care, his devotion unwavering.

Throughout the birthing process, Lan WangJi was my anchor, holding my hand, rubbing my back, and anticipating my every need without complaint.

After our daughter was born, his support only grew, taking on the role of caregiver so I could rest and recover.

And as I battled with postpartum depression, Lan Zhan remained my rock, his patience and understanding guiding me through the darkest days.

In his embrace, I found solace and strength, grateful for a partner who loved me unconditionally, even in the face of the most challenging moments of our lives.

Notes:

This is actually not original, but rather 'hypothetically' real, as I saw in the comments under a Facebook reel, these 3 different stories:

My husband slept on one of the little chair beda with no complaints with our last two. This last time, I felt super bad because I didn't have a catheter or pain meds. So i would get up every 20 min to pee, trying to get the IV pole with me as I hobbled over to the bathroom.
Tried to be quiet but I woke him up everytime. Meanwhile he was just going "Woman! Wake me up to help you get to the bathroom before you wind up falling and getting hurt!" 🤣 ❤️
My hubby was in the damn birthing tub fully clothed cause my lower back was killing me, so he climbed in to massage it. Never left my side. My heart hurts that any man could act any kind of negative way after watching his spouse go through childbirth.
My husband was by my side every step of the way. Held my hand, rubbed my back, got me my fan, and didn't complain once. After my daughter was born, he helped me with every single thing so I could rest. He's also been so patient with me through my PPD. 🩷

Chapter 17: Blissed Honeymoon

Summary:

WangXian's blissed Honeymoon through Lan XiChen's internal suffering *Ahem*

Notes:

An alternative universe, post canon.

Chapter Text

Lan XiChen, with his serene smile, approached his brother, Lan WangJi, curious about his honeymoon.

"WangJi, how was the honeymoon?" he inquired gently.

Lan WangJi's ears reddened gradually as he recalled their time together.

"One night, Wei Ying got drunk," he began, causing Lan XiChen to worry momentarily. But then, Lan WangJi's face lit up with adoration as he continued,

"Then he said, with a drunken cute expression and loud exclamation, 'GOOD LUCK TRYING TO RETURN ME WITHOUT THE RECEIPT! HAHAHA'."

Lan XiChen's 'Ah' was the only response, his expression a mix of amusement and resignation.

However, Lan WangJi, completely smitten, couldn't help but declare his love once again, with a "I Love Him!" , much to Lan XiChen's chagrin.

As Lan XiChen inwardly sighed, he knew that once his brother started talking about his Wei Ying, there was no end in sight.

So, he plastered on a smile, silently screaming, "Not Again!!"

Notes:

This one is written by ai:

In an alternative universe, after the blissful honeymoon of WangXian, Lan XiChen found himself engaged in a conversation with his brother, Lan WangJi. With his usual serene smile, Lan XiChen couldn't help but ask his younger brother about how the honeymoon went.

"Lan WangJi, how was the honeymoon?" he inquired gently, curious to hear about the newlyweds' adventures. Lan WangJi took a moment to recall the cherished memories, his mind slowly drifting back to those precious days spent with his beloved.

As he reminisced, Lan WangJi's ears gradually turned a shade of red, a clear indication of his deep affection and love for his husband. With a smitten expression on his face, he finally replied, "One night, Wei Ying got drunk... and he ripped our marriage certificate."

Lan XiChen was caught off guard by this unexpected revelation. His serene smile faltered for a moment, as his mind raced to conclusions about what might have transpired between the couple. However, before Lan XiChen could voice his concerns, Lan WangJi continued, his ears now intensifying in their reddened hue.

"Then," Lan WangJi confessed, his voice filled with adoration, "he said, with a drunkenly cute expression and a loud exclamation, 'GOOD LUCK TRYING TO RETURN ME WITHOUT THE RECEIPT! HAHAHA.'"

Lan XiChen could only manage a soft "Ah" in response, his face wearing the expression of an elder sibling who didn't particularly want to delve into the intimate details of his brother's romantic escapades. Lan WangJi's love-stricken countenance, captivating and bewitched, held no secrets about his feelings for Wei Ying. His ears remained flushed, the reddest they had ever been, as he proudly announced, "I love him."

Lan XiChen, fully aware of the consequences of his brother's passionate proclamations, inwardly sighed. He knew all too well that once Lan WangJi started singing the praises of Wei Wuxian, there would be no end to it. Resigned to the inevitable, Lan XiChen plastered his smile back on his handsome face, while silently screaming, "Not again!"

And so, in that alternative universe, Lan XiChen listened patiently as Lan WangJi poured out his heart, sharing every cheesy little detail about his deep and abiding love for Wei Wuxian. Lan XiChen, the ever-supportive brother, embraced his role, offering a gentle smile and lending a sympathetic ear to his lovestruck sibling.

In the end, despite the internal exasperation, Lan XiChen couldn't help but feel a sense of joy knowing that his brother had found such profound happiness in the arms of the one he loved most. Love, after all, was a beautiful thing, even if it meant enduring countless stories and declarations from a brother utterly smitten.

Quote: "You fool, I adore you, Wei Ying! How can you be so oblivious? Are you taunting me? Ridiculing me?" - Lan WangJi

Chapter Text

It all started with that stupid night hunt.

If it weren't for those idiots from the Jin sect provoking him and doubting his skills, he wouldn't have gone to kill some stupid Yao creature that releases a ridiculous 'Reading Minds' smoke before it dies, and Wei WuXian wouldn't have had to be subjected to it at all.

He would have been spared the annoyance, hurt, and shock that came over him from some people's thoughts about him.

Granted, his brother's only thoughts on him are that Wei Ying is a stupid idiot who is strong but misuses his intelligence and genius.

Nie Huaisang's thoughts were torture; his mind is full either with schemes or spring books and gambles.

Some of his classmates' thoughts stung a little, with them thinking of him as a manwhore who opens his legs for Jiang FengMian, while Lan Qiren's thoughts, surprisingly, were either praising his talents or berating him for being like his dead mother, whom he doesn't even remember.

But the most shocking one came from Lan WangJi. His thoughts keep on making Wei WuXian blush violently over and over again.

Every time Wei Ying was in the sight of Lan WangJi, the latter would start reacting differently than what Wei WuXian assumed. Instead of anger, it was lust that made Lan Zhan snap at Wei WuXian's face every time.

And if he were to be honest, which he is, Wei WuXian is enjoying those thoughts very much, although they make him hard as a rock.

He didn't even know that he had round buttocks that are considered sexy. He didn't know that his scar over his right shoulder blade to the middle of his forearm is attractive either. And he certainly wasn't aware that Lan WangJi was thinking of making out with him all day long, whenever Wei WuXian just looked in his direction, let alone if he smiled.

Truth be told, Wei WuXian is perfectly capable of breaking this stupid curse anytime he wants, after the required first day has already passed; but Lan WangJi's thoughts of him kept him from doing so.

Wei WuXian found himself looking forward to hearing what Lan WangJi thinks of him, that he went out of his way to go and ask Lan WangJi about anything and everything, carefully hinting at Yunmeng's beauty, to see if what will come out of Lan WangJi's mouth would match his thoughts or not.

If, heaven forbid, Lan Zhan too, thinks that Wei WuXian is only good to be used as a body to fuck, if he thinks of him as someone promiscuous; it will undoubtedly break Wei WuXian deep inside, for reasons he cannot fathom.

Or, is it that Lan Zhan is truly only interested in him because he's good in Lan WangJi's eyes.

And honestly, even though he expected to hear lust over his being, he never ever for a second thought that Lan WangJi's mind would be screaming:

"You fucking idiot, I love you, Wei Ying! How can he be so dumb? Is Wei Ying mocking me? Making fun of me? I know he likes to play around, flirt with ladies only and is probably experienced, but does he really need to hurt me like that? Is it because my love disgusts him? Am I shaming him because I'm a man? I'm ashamed of myself too, violating Wei Ying like this is not good, he's so valuable for me, and should be treated with respect, but my feelings make it even harder for me to converse with him. Does Wei Ying hate me now?"

That, as soon as Wei WuXian regained his balance after hearing the intensity of this river of honest and silly words, he cut off Lan WangJi's train of thought by kissing him passionately. His body automatically moved, acting on the sudden revelation he just had. He too, loves Lan Zhan. He didn't even realize what he did until Lan Zhan stiffened in his arms.

This reaction pushed Wei Ying to panic and rethink his actions. What if Lan Zhan hated this? What if it made him angry? What if this kiss and overstep of boundaries urged Lan Zhan to hate him, or worse, feel disgusted with him?

But then again, remembering all those thoughts he had been hearing these past three days, Wei WuXian thought, "No, I should make it clear to him. Clearly, none of us talked enough."

Wei WuXian: "Lan Zhan! Lan Zhan, I'm... I'm sorry, I'll apologize, so just hear me out first, please, then punish me or push me away if you want to. I only flirt with girls because I found it easy from a young age to get discounts on goods and have a friendly conversation with them. I've never compromised anyone's virtue; I'm still a virgin myself. I've never even had a crush on somebody before, but since I met you, I've felt things I've never felt before, emotions I never understood until now. Lan Zhan, Lan Wangji, Lan er gongzi, Lan er gege, I love you. I came to realize that I adore you. I teased you more than I normally do because I wanted your attention; I annoyed the hell out of you only so I could get a reaction from you. *Low huff of laughter* Anger makes you look so hot, Lan Zhan. When you furrow your eyebrows and glare at me, when you hold Bichen's hilt tightly, when you call me boring, ridiculous, and especially when you shout my name, my heart flutters in a way it has never done before. I am no manwhore or womanizer, as people call me, but I am no noble or gentry person either; I'm only a servant and an unknown orphan's son. I can't promise you the advantages and wealth others will provide you, nor can I give you children—though I can try to invent a talisman for that purpose—but I can promise you loyalty, honesty, faithfulness, and myself. Gusu Lan's Lan WangJi, would you... *voice cracks a little and becomes hoarse* would you cut your sleeve for me, would you consider us courting each other?"

This was his first time in a long time that he spoke entirely serious and sincere. No filter nor joke to veil his fragile soul and raw, soft feelings.

At Lan Zhan's continuous full and absolute silence, even his inner thoughts were blank. Wei WuXian had to work through his embarrassment, fear, and pain to mutter out weakly,:

"You don't have to consent; you can ask me to be miles away from you. But please don't mock or laugh at me because I have been sincere to you. This was not a joke nor a prank."

YES .. He turned his lover into his family's race(vampires) before his execution, he didn't explain anything to WuXian at that time, however.

Anyway, Lan WangJi found his lover, confused by himself, 'Did he not die? Didn't he kill himself?'  But he forgot all that when he saw his soulmate Lan Zhan.

Notes:

⚠️Prologue: Love That Became A Forgotten History

The year 2020 was known as the year of disasters, as this year witnessed several problems, starting from the forest fire to the spread of a deadly epidemic. As a result, the quarantine system was applied for five consecutive months.

Everyone lived through this period differently. Some spent it playing or sleeping, while others spent it reading.

Among the second type, there was a girl in her mid-twenties who found a book in her library that narrates real historical events that took place in 1933 in the ancient empire of China, which was ruled by two families at the time.

Each of them had a series of noble families belonging to them, but the enmity between these families was known, especially the families of "Lan" and "Wei."

When the young lady opened the book, the first thing she read was:

"In a time of wars, when pens were put down and weapons were raised, in a time when the love of two men was FORBIDDEN, the battlefields and wars witnessed a love story like it would never be written again, a love that occurred between a general and a colonel belonging to two enemy families."

LWJ: "Every day I will announce that I am in love with you as long as I am, and I will tell you without boredom that I love you, the first to witness the love in my heart, and after you, no other shall be born, thus you shall forever remain the sole occupant of my affection, my cherished one, my beloved, and my dearest."

WWX: "I love you until life dries up in my blood, until my pulse stops and my breath fades, until I'm just a memory and dissipate like a lump of dust, until my remnants obliterated and erased from existence, so I will still love you, the joy of my life and my heart."

"I suffer in silence."

LWJ: "Don't do it, Wei Ying, don't leave me alone!"
WWX: "I am sorry that I'm not sorry... but this is for you." (A tear dropped from his eyes.)

LWJ: "As much as I want you, as much as I wish I could forget you, I will get over you and continue my life away from your love, but how and in every time I close my eyes I see the glint of your eyes."

WWX: "Lan Zhan, I am a soldier who declares allegiance to your goldenrod."

LWJ: "Peace be upon you who was the joy of my heart and peace be upon your soul that is immortalized with loyalty."

(This story is talking about LWJ and WWX, who are in big positions in the army and both of them have very great principles, stubbornness, and perseverance.)

Lan Zhan:
29 years old, the next family heir.
Strong, strict; he is just and doesn't discriminate between people by their ranks but by their talent and personalities.
Pansexual.

Wei Ying:
25 years old.
Well-mannered, loyal, strong; might be out of control sometimes as he doesn't always follow orders.
Bisexual (told just his friend Wen Ning about that).

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

The First Official Meeting

Lan and Wei are two neighboring families united by a long history, one language, and one Chinese ancestry.

For decades, they were fine as two harmonious neighbors. Many stories were shared by the two clans together. Many days containing memories have expired to remain memories.

Seventy years ago, everything changed.

Lan's ambitions to obtain Wei's benefits and strength to make its family the ruler turned the situation into a civil war.

The civil war ended 20 years ago, but the enmity still exists between the Wei and Lan clans. However, the situation changed again when other countries began attaching China to colonize it, leading to the start of the war again.

A war led by the owners of the authorities and paid for by the people... And by the people, I mean the poor and common people, but the nobles were protected in their palaces.

But among the noble families, only two families wanted to protect China by fighting by themselves on the battlefield.

So, in order for China to regain its dignity and authority over its lands, the WEI and LAN clans were forced to ally themselves.

At least that is what the main families decided after a suggestion from their heirs... Here was the first meeting between WEI YING, twenty-five years old, and LAN ZHAN, who turned twenty-nine years old.

A meeting happened for both of them to sign the alliance paper as being the owners of the proposal as well as being highly ranked in the army.

Lan Zhan, who was called a miracle because he became a general at the age of twenty-six years and who was distinguished by his successful strategies in wars.

And Wei Ying, who is no different from him, became a colonel at the age of twenty-three and was called a genius besides being insanely strong; he wins every battle he leads. And he was not afraid to die in battles.

The alliance was held at the military headquarters in the presence of the "LAN" and "WEI" families and the two families who rule China, "NIE" and "WEN."

"It's not my pleasure to meet you, General Lan."

(WY reached out to shake hands with Lan Zhan, who responded with the same strength as the other's fist/grip.)

"I reciprocate the same sentiments as yours, Colonel Wei... but I'd rather you call me by my name."

{said with sharp shining eyes}

"I see! Then I will call you General Lan (Lan JiāngJūn=general)."

Wei Ying understood that Lan Zhan does not want to be known by his family name, but by his own name.

"I will appreciate this! So after we've agreed on the terms of the treaty, can I add a request? Of course, you have the right to add a request, too."

(By the way, they are talking elsewhere on their own, having signed the agreement earlier.)

"I will hear it first. In the end, I don't want to be stabbed like your great-grandfather betrayed mine seventy years ago."

Wei Ying said it in a sarcastic tone

"Better not use this tone with me for your own good. And I wanted to request that my subordinates and your subordinates reside in the same place for the duration of the contract, and this includes both of us."

Wei Ying stayed silent for a few minutes then he spoke:

"Ok, I have no problem with that, and it will be easy to discuss the strategies fast."

LWJ: "So again I hope this alliance goes well."

Never to be continued..

Chapter Text

I want to die.

 I want to kill myself.

It would be so easy to bring my dearest Suibian out, and do a perfectly sweet and clean slice on my neck. A quick, pain-free death.

It would be lovely.

Well, actually no. I do not wish to end my life. Not after I had this out of imagination chance, to live again. Once again, in this hellish life.

I am just simply so tired.

 I just want to rest.

It is taking a great tool on my soul, on my body, and on my mind. I just wish to find solace this time around, I do not really wish to cater to Madame Yu's wishes, to her unfavorable actions, and her unreasonable demands and her myriad unfounded punishments.

I can't find it in my self, to wield enough patience to deal with her and her servants.

So.. whatever shall I do?

Should I just hand in my resignation, and go and live a life of a rogue cultivator, who has no affiliation to other sects, to any village, and just live on as a wanderer, then quietly erase myself from existence.

Or should I fake my death right now, and let the world believe that I am dead, and go to continue living my life freely.

Or, should I just try to leave this life in a somewhat different path? Should I stay with Yunmeng Jiang, and try to be a better head disciple this time around?

Whatever I end up doing, I just wish for one thing. I want to try to be happy this time around. I do not wish to have any regrets this time. I already have a lot of them from my past life.

I wish I could have said something, anything, to that man. But well, what can I say? Maybe our fate has decided that we shall not be together. Shall never stay together. He is far too pure for me, for someone like me, for a devil like me.

Chapter 22: Prison - Betrayal modern au

Summary:

Livin' it rough, but Call it love

Key word for this ch: Why

Ch/W: mentions and vague description of torture and suicide.

Notes:

So.. you see.. I didn't exactly neglect my account or fics as much as I actually absolutely forgot I have an account. I blame college (really it's just my fish memory but let me blame outside forces🙏🏼🌚)

Chapter Text

The lovely two blinking moons he loved to gaze into every second of his days, that he swims and lives in with every breath he takes. The eyes that reflect the light he worships its trail. The very same eyes that used to look at him with infinite love and adoration, are plagued with stubborn, sad tears, while glaring at him with an anger he cannot understand.

His reason for life is still pointing at him with an accusing finger urging the cops holding him , cuffing him, dragging him to his new home. Prison.

Why?

Why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, WHY????

Why did Wei Ying deem it important to betray him?

Why did his beloved, his confidant of all people betray him? Is Lan Zhan really that bad of a person? A man who really doesn't deserve to be loved? Not by his mother, not by his uncle, not by his brother, and certainly not by his father. It seems.. not even Wei Ying loves him anymore.

Not after that day. Not after Lan Zhan killed him.

But.. Why!? He internally wailed.

..

The first year of his imprisonment passed with him still in a state of going back and forth between Shock and denial.

Wei Ying cannot do that. It's just a misunderstanding. Only a misunderstanding. His love didn't betray him.

Why would he?

..

The second year came fury, then watered down to anger, then went full force back to fury.

HOW DARE HE! How could he! How dare Wei Ying leave him? How dare he stab him in the back? WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHYWHYWHYWHYWHYWHYWHYWHYWHYWHYWHY WHY!!!!!

I was the one who saved him. I was the one who loved him. I was the one who protected him. I was the one to treasure him tenderly. I had no heart and I loved him beyond even my comprehension, then why?

He shouldn't have done that. He shouldn't have given away incriminating information on him. Wei Ying is supposed to be smarter than that.

Wei Ying will have to watch his back when I get out of this place. Because I WILL kill him. My none existing heart be damned! He was the first to break my trust.

I will take my revenge.

I will skin him alive, give him a swim in salted boiling water right afterwards. He will be introduced to how hot melted sugar feels on raw flesh. He will know how hot gelatine loves to torture you slowly the longer it stays on his protesting body.

He will especially be enamored of being burnt alive. A slow, painful and lovely death. At least he will die warm. My Wei Ying always complained about the cold.

..

The fourth year he was content with just punching him.

The fifth, he just wishes to see him. Even a glance at his silhouette would be enough. Why did Wei Ying never come to see him? Not even to sneer at him, not to taunt him? Why did he abandon Lan Zhan too? Why does everybody abandon him?

The sixth year started with uncontrollable sadness, then turned into grief 6 months later.. why did Wei Ying tell on him if he was going to kill himself due to.. what? Regret? Grief? Sadness? Unhealthy.. love? Why did he choose to leave him?

Why should Lan Zhan continue to fight, if the reason for his continued alive state is now dead? By his very own hands.

Why.
