Reviving and Repeating

Summary:

Nathan (The Narrator) finds his missing coworker and is caught in an ‘endless’ repeating cycle with Stanley ☺️

(Trust me, it’s interesting I just don’t know how to make a good summary without spoiling it)

Chapter 1: Missing

Summary:

Nathan (The Narrator) went around the office looking for his coworker, Stanley, who had seemed to have left work early.

Nathan begins to walk home, disappointed that he couldn’t see his favorite coworker- not that he was obsessed with him or anything! He just liked his company.-

Nathan’s thoughts were suddenly interrupted by a shine of light in his eye, coming from a shattered phone, a frantic voice spoke out.

“Sta- ley?! Stan- -yare y- -u th-ere?!”

“Sta- -ey!! Fi-nd- St- ley- pl- s-e!”

The phone cut off, and the cycle begins. After all, the end is never the end.

Chapter Text

Nathan (The Narrator) typed at his desk for hours, submitting finished work and voice lines for a new upcoming game.

He glanced at his phone, “..Already 7 pm?” He thought to himself as he shut off his computer and got up from his seat. The sun was beginning to set as a golden hue shown through the trees.

He walked over to Stanleys office, not bothering to knock as he stepped in, Stanley’s warm scent being barely noticeable as Nathan looked around, admiring the small trinkets and clutter on his desk.

But Stanley wasn’t there.

“Huh.. maybe he clocked out early?” Nathan thought as he took one last glance at Stanley’s office before walking out, the warm and fuzzy scent changing back to the boring normal office scent.

During the summertime and fall, Nathan made it a habit to walk home as it was a short walk from the office to his house - plus, he was able to see Stanley at the bus stop when he walked. …Not that he was obsessed or anything.. he just liked seeing his coworker on his way home.

But on his usual walk past the bus stop, Nathan noticed a small shine in the corner of his eye. There beside the bench lay a phone, shattered and broken.

Against his better judgment, Nathan bent down and picked up the phone. A voice immediately yelling from the speaker.

“Sta- ley?! Stan- -yare y- -u th-ere?!”

A woman’s frantic voice yelled out, the phone must’ve been on call with someone before it was broken..

“..Hello? Who is this?” Nathan spoke out after a couple seconds of awkward silence.

The woman spoke out again, her voice shaky and glitching from the state of the phone.

“Sta- -ey!! Fi-nd- St- ley- pl- s-e!”

“M-Ma’am I can’t understand you.. what are you—“ Nathan was cut off by a loud beep! as the phone hung up, the caller ID being ‘mom’.

Nathan turned the phone over and inspected it, his eyes going wide as he felt his stomach drop as if he were on a carnival ride.

This is Stanley’s phone..
