Dreams

Summary:

What is a dream?

Work Text:

Our dreams have fallen to the ground and shattered. Now in what light remains, you can still get a glimpse of the dream on the broken shards. You can look but be careful, beauty in sorrow has a way of dragging you in. Be careful not to cut yourself on holding on to the shards of a shattered dream. Broken dreams have the same power as regular dreams and your nightmares. They can cut and rip your defenses down, if you give them the power. Because a nightmare is just a broken dream. So remember this when you are holding the shards of your dream. You have the choice to choose what to do with the shards. You can keep the shards, just don't hold on until they turn red with blood. You can do many things with the shards of your dream. One, is to lock them away only to take them out when you need a reminder of the past, of fairy tales and of innocence. Two, you can give them to someone else and see what they can do with a broken dream, what is broken to one is just a canvas to another. Like the saying, one man's trash is another's treasure. Three, you can take the shards and make a new dream. Like a stand glass window they are made of different pieces of glass to create something breathtaking. Same goes for dreams. Some are made for reality and some are meant to be part of something bigger. Now you can only see the shards in the light. That light is hope. Hope is the light in the dark, and dreams are the prism turning that light into something unique. We all have hope. We all have dreams. But our dreams are different. Each dream is its own work of art. Remember this when your dream has broken. Broken doesn't mean gone, it means gaining the ability to change into something new that you couldn't before.
