Just wanted to get the base character designs out of the way, more high-effort drawings are in the chapters after this. (And admittedly, some of the designs do evolve a bit the more I draw them. Mostly in terms of hairstyle.)

Chapters titled with Girls Just Wanna Have Fun or Man! I Feel Like A Woman! lyrics are not fic-specific; fic-specific art is in chapters titled with another lyric from the same song that the fic in question is titled after, or occasionally a song that featured in the fic itself (e.g. chapter "Aren't We Bright In the Candlelight" is in reference to Lay Me Down In Golden Dandelions). Some fic-specific art is illustrations of the fic, while others are more in reference to the fic and don't particularly require you to have read the fic first. Er, but please read the fics anyway! 🙏

Also, the Borg baby isn't completely forgotten about. Neither of these things have anything to do with the genderbends, it's just how I prefer it.

If you ever see me say "Didoposting", it means I'm thinking about this AU-of-an-AU. 🤧

Incidentally, I think that in this AU, Julie's Section 31 plotline would be about - instead of a virus to wipe out the changelings - preventing the Jem'Hadar defectors* from being cloned/bred en masse for the Federation. There's a lot of conflict over what's supposed to happen with the Jem'Hadar defectors after the war is over if they aren't able to just send them back to the Gamma Quadrant; Julie would probably be pretty okay with more (technically friendly) Jem'Hadar being bred in the Alpha Quadrant if it were a function of restoring reproductive capabilities to the Jem'Hadar themselves, but Section 31 is trying to do it the exact same way the Dominion does... including coding them with fanatical loyalty to the Federation (read: Section 31).

*I didn't mention it in the image, but the defector population is maybe 15% of the Jem'Hadar in the Alpha Quadrant, maximum. Even fewer Vortas defected, maybe 8%, and most of them are sketchy.

hingabee and I have been playing a frankly disturbing amount of Umamusume: Pretty Derby lately, and she requested that I draw this. She even gave me the aptitudes for them, so I kind of had to.

Chapter 75: [PRO] Fun, Girls

Summary:

I didn't do these with the initial batch of non-DS9/TOS genderbends because at the time I hadn't watched Prodigy (or hadn't watched all of it yet, anyway), but after season two dropped, I knew I had to do them eventually. Still, I put it off for a long time because: 1) with Prodigy being relatively obscure and underrated, getting good reference images proved to be a challenge 2) in a post-sexism future setting like Star Trek, changing a character's gender mostly only affects interpersonal (romantic) relationships and reproduction. This being a children's show where many of the main characters are themselves children/teens, the former is very understated and the latter pretty much nonexistant. So, in this case, swapping characters' sexes lead to literally no change in the overall plotline and extremely little change in the individual character arcs. All I was left with were the character designs themselves and, well, there was no given reason for any of them to be a radical departure from the canon design, either. So this was mostly just an excuse to try my hand at Prodigy fanart.
