Okay I realize this sounds crazy, but hear me out. I’ve been gathering my evidence for weeks now and I think it’s finally time that everyone knew. Honestly, the most surprising part to me is that nobody’s beat me to the punch yet. It’s so obvious once you know where to look…
So Choerry. Pretty loveable member, right? She’s the sunshine of LOONA, great dancer, had killer parts in PTT. In the lore, she’s a dimension-traveling teenager symbolized by a bat. Which brings us to my first point and her introduction.

When her solo “Love Cherry Motion” dropped, no one thought anything beyond the obvious. Half the internet was blowing up over the MV and song being inappropriate for a 16-year-old, and the other half was losing their minds over the whole Kim Lip - JinSoul - OEC connection. But take a look at these closeups:

The kid’s got FANGS. Not normal human canines. I’m talking about a Halloween-store fake teeth kind of deal. And you might say, duh, her animal’s a bat. Of course they’d make her a little animal-like, lean into it, you know?
But here’s the thing. They didn’t do that for any other member. They didn’t give ears to Heejin, they didn’t give antlers to ViVi, they didn’t give antennae to Go Won. Why would they give Choerry fangs?
Now again: I know this sounds crazy. But stay with me here.
They didn’t give Choerry fangs… because she already, naturally has them.
And look, it’s easy to miss because they love to edit the fangs out. In all the album photobooks and season’s greetings and official selfies and whatever, she’s got normal teeth:

But in music show press releases and fansite photos (AKA things that the company CAN’T EDIT), there they are:

And videos? Forget editing every frame of a video, that’d be insanity. So they just leave it and pray no one notices.
Which begs the question: Why edit them at all? What do they have to hide?
Well, let me draw your attention to the behind-the-scenes of Love Cherry Motion:

They do a pretty good job of trying not to show it, but if you look in the corner where the upside-down tree set piece is, you’ll see that instead of a mirror they have a green screen on the ground. Which is weird, because in the MV it’s very clearly a mirror. Like, isn’t it easier to record a natural reflection instead of recording something separately and editing it in?
UNLESS.
Take a look at this other shot from the beginning of LCM:

There’s a mirror in the back of Haseul and Yeojin’s house. Choerry is right in front of it, but her reflection doesn’t appear at all. You can see a bit of Haseul’s shoulder in the mirror too, so it’s not like it’s just pointed somewhere else.
My point is, Choerry doesn’t cast a reflection. Not only that, but she has sharp, pointy fangs. Both of these are facts that the company has tried extremely hard to keep quiet.
And why is that? Simple.
Choerry is a vampire.
CHOERRY IS A VAMPIRE.
Crazy straightforward once you figure it out, right? Now that I’ve thoroughly blown your minds, let me know if there’s anything I missed. I’m sure once people start looking we can crack this case wide open.

This week, LOONA’s Choerry was spotted on the street by a fan, who documented the encounter on her Twitter.

As explained by the fan, she had just exited a location of the popular Korean convenience store, GS25, when she happened to see Choerry coming from the other direction. Choerry also seemed to be on her way home from a different store, and was dressed in civilian clothing.

The fan was able to have a brief conversation with Choerry and even got her signature on the back of a receipt. However, Choerry politely declined to have photos taken, joking that she hadn’t done any makeup.
Still, the fan was happy to meet one of her favorite idols, and states that she plans to treasure the memory of this once-in-a-lifetime chance.

LOONA is set to appear as a group on Mnet’s upcoming survival show, Queendom 2, airing every Thursday at 9:20 PM KST, starting March 31. Even in the midst of preparations, it’s nice to see that they have still been making time for fans.

CHOERRY’S VAMPIRE TRAITS

All right people, a bunch of you decided to make me look stupid the last time I posted but that’s not going to stop me. You can downvote me all you want, and you can say what you like in the comments, but I know I’m right and I’m not going to give in to heckling from a bunch of plebs like you.
Now that I’ve got that out of the way, here’s what I’m really here to do. For the longest time, I had this hunch but not a ton of ways to prove it. A few of you also pointed out that Choerry has some stereotypical vampire traits but not others. And that got me thinking:
We don’t know how vampires work in the real world. We just have a bunch of different interpretations of folklore. So why not compile everything we know and build up my data at the same time?
I’m going to go through all the vampire traits I’ve researched and note which ones Choerry does or doesn’t have, starting with what I discussed in my last post.
FANGS: Check.
NO REFLECTION: Check, though she does show up in photos.
These are pretty basic, but we can do better. Moving on:
DOES NOT CAST A SHADOW: You can see pretty clearly in LOONA’s 1theK Suit Dance that she’s got a shadow just like everyone else. So, no.
PALE SKIN: I am not opening up a conversation about colorism in the K-pop industry. It sucks but that’s not the point of this post. I’m just going to say yes and move on.
CAN SHAPESHIFT INTO A BAT: Not as far as I’m aware.
BURNS IN SUNLIGHT: I sure hope not.
NEEDS TO BE INVITED IN: I don’t think so?
OBSESSED WITH MATH: Not even close.
WEAKNESS TO SILVER: She’s worn silver jewelry for plenty of photoshoots, but they could just as easily be a different gray metal. I’ll still go with the benefit of the doubt here. Tentative no.
WEAKNESS TO THE CROSS: Heejin was often wearing a cross earring during “So What” promotions. I’m going to go with no.
WEAKNESS TO GARLIC: Not a weakness, per se, but I found this tweet where she said she’d choose onions over garlic at a fancall. Gonna give it a yes.
DIES FROM WOODEN STAKE: Now that I think about it, a human would also die from being stabbed through the chest with a wooden stake, so I’m just going to omit this one entirely.
What does this tell us? Well… not a lot, to be honest. Either vampires are much lower maintenance than we’ve been led to believe, or BBC does a really great job of covering stuff up. I’ll update this post with new proof if I find it, but that’s all I have for today.

LOGISTICS OF CHOERRY’S VAMPIRISM

For once in my life, I can thank BBC.
I hadn’t been making any progress on my case until their announcement about Choerry last week and the ensuing fallout (a flood of get-well-soon tweets, angry thinkpieces, people calling for #FaintGate…), and you can say what you want about the working conditions of idols, but to me, this reads less as stress-induced anemia and more like the downside of a crucial vampire trait that slipped my mind in the last post.
That’s right. In all the excitement, I somehow forgot the number one thing that makes a vampire a vampire: drinking blood.
Now, that’s super obvious, which is all well and good, but drinking (human!) blood is generally frowned upon in modern society. It’d be hard enough to get as a regular person, but as a celebrity? I’m having a hard time imagining that Choerry would be able to stalk the streets at night and sink her teeth into just anyone. Thus, I propose three possible answers to the question we all have: Where is she getting the blood?
POSSIBLE ANSWER 1: Choerry, like some vampires in popular media, doesn’t actually drink human blood. She drinks animal blood, maybe ethically sourced, maybe not.
PROS/CONS: While this would get rid of the potential moral issues of drinking from humans, this brings up even more questions in its place. As far as I know, I haven’t really heard of a chupacabra-type situation in South Korea, and I’m sure Choerry is busy enough as it is, so I doubt that she’s traveling out to the countryside to drink from animals herself. That would mean someone has to be supplying animal blood to her, so either BBC has a portion of its budget dedicated to buying animal blood(???) or someone Choerry knows is bringing it to her — another member, maybe? Neither seem likely.
POSSIBLE ANSWER 2: Choerry is able to get human blood from donation centers and hospitals, and she drinks that.
PROS/CONS: Obligatory disclaimer that I’m not a doctor or any other kind of health professional, but based on what I could find, hospitals and donation centers only get rid of blood bags if they’re contaminated or expired. Even if the people in charge were somehow okay with not disposing of them properly (usually they’re incinerated or sterilized in an autoclave), I don’t think Choerry would enjoy drinking blood that’s old or full of infectious diseases. But hey, what do I know.
POSSIBLE ANSWER 3: Choerry has a regular feeding partner — someone she’s made arrangements with and can consistently rely on as a source of blood.
PROS/CONS: Honestly, it makes perfect sense to me. It’s the same reason why people have semi-regular hookup partners. You need something, they need something, and you can give it to each other without getting any deeper than that and without having to get anyone else involved. I’m assuming the person Choerry’s drinking from doesn’t want to have their cover blown either, so there’s the bonus of mutually assured secrecy. And, well, whatever the other person’s reason for agreeing is none of my business. People like what they like, or maybe there’s money involved, but from a practical standpoint, I can’t see any better way for Choerry to get her fill.
That being said, I think my next steps are pretty clear. You might not believe me now, but once I find out who the partner is, I’ll have undeniable evidence that Choerry is a vampire.
Laugh while you can, folks. I think this case is finally coming to a close.

You all thought I was crazy.
You all laughed at me, ridiculed me, brushed your teeth to the tune of my serious scientific inquiry.
But just like Van Gogh was eventually beloved, just like Galileo was eventually proven right, I’m here to collect my check and tell the world, once and for all: I KNEW IT.
Let me direct your attention to this semi-viral tweet. To sum up, Choerry was spotted in bed with none other than Chaeryeong of ITZY. Now, a ton of people are skeptical that this even happened, and the few that believe it are convinced they’re either in a romantic relationship or *really good friends* (eye roll), but I know better. I know exactly what’s going on.
Chaeryeong is Choerry’s feeding partner. Chaeryeong is letting Choerry feed from her. THAT’S where Choerry is getting her blood.
IT’S. SO. DAMN. SIMPLE.
I can’t believe it was right under my nose this whole time. Once I started looking into Chaeryeong’s activity and not just Choerry’s, it all started coming together.
The weird marks on Chaeryeong’s neck in her recent fancams? Vampire bites. The way she avoided mentioning Choerry while talking about the rest of LOONA? Overcorrecting to keep their arrangement under wraps. The dating rumor from the beginning of this year? Obviously Choerry and Chaeryeong meeting up in different hotels, just like the one they were found in by the friend of the author of the tweet.
So THERE. Undeniable evidence that Choerry is a vampire, Chaeryeong is her blood source, and I was right and always have been.
And of course, I know this still won’t be enough for some of you. You’ll still argue with me, saying I’m wasting my time or that vampires aren’t even real, and all I have to say is this: believe what you want. I know from experience that I can’t stop you.
But when Korean news outlets catch on and the headlines start coming out in a few months’ time, just be glad you heard it here first.
