Jackie sheepishly admits, “I’m actually doing my thesis on you.”
“I’m flattered,” Shauna hasn’t smiled this genuinely in a while, it almost hurts. “Anything I can help with?”
“Oh,” Jackie turns her head, severing their eye contact. “That’s such a nice offer but I don’t want to take up too much of your time. I’m sure you’re a very busy person.”
Shauna thinks she sees a hint of red climbing up Jackie’s neck and she can’t help herself as she responds, “Oh yeah, you actually caught me right in the middle of something. I’m trying to avoid getting taken away by some federal agents in schoolgirl uniforms.”
