Work Text:
his father goes out on business and never returns. you know what men are like, they say, clucking their tongues.
all orpheus remembers of his father is a rumbling voice and towering legs. if the man has presence past his waist his mind has not held onto it.
his mother goes to bathe by the river and orpheus is left all alone. well you know what those muses are like, they say, shaking their heads.
meanwhile morpheus glares silent at a greedy selfish man and thinks of the son he’s left behind.
meanwhile calliope is pressed face down in mattress by a greedy selfish man and hopes her son is okay.
she hopes the greedy selfish men of the world never find him.
after all you know what men are like.
