Finally, the girl processed the other person standing over her, a red cardinal (was it… made out of wood?) perched on his shoulder and a golden staff with red energy glowing on the end in his hand. He glared down at her with magenta eyes. The rest of his face was covered by a pale red bandana.
“Ah. So that explains it,” he muttered, the glow disappearing from the end of his staff. “Of course the only person incompetent enough to fall into a nixolotl’s lair is a human.”

The laugh burst out of Dante, unexpected and uncontrolled. He just couldn't help it! His lungs spasmed as they fought for air and, when he finally did suck in a breath, he coughed violently, then started laughing again. He laughed so hard that he overbalanced and tipped onto his side, splashing right into a pool of slush, his muscles still too tight from being curled up to react in time to save himself.
"Dante!" Vergil cried, sounding terrified, which just made Dante laugh harder.
Finally, after what felt like forever, he managed to spit out words between fits, "A… A therapist? You fuckin' serious?!" Cackling, he tried to get up, but his hand slipped on ice and he went down again. This time, he just stayed there, giggling in the dirty slush.

"Wait," Dante says with sudden urgency, as something much bigger finally dawns on him. "Does that make us, like, Jesus or something?"
That, seems to spur the other into responding. Vergil clamps down on a horrified laugh, and then he snorts.
"More like Cain and Abel, if you want my two cents on the matter." He's smirking. The bastard is smirking, one brow raised tauntingly. It rips a matching smirk from Dante as well.
