“When’s your birthday, Iz?”
Izzy shrugs.
He knows when it is. February twenty-ninth. Every four years. Some people might think it’s unlucky, being born on a leap year. Izzy’s just glad he only has to think about it once every four years. Sometimes he just forgets and it hits him weeks or months later.
“You don’t know?”
“Why does it matter? Gonna throw me a fucking birthday party?”
Edward scoffs. “Was just asking, you prickly son of a bitch.”
“February twenty-ninth.”
“Huh?”
“That’s my birthday.”
There’s silence for a while.
“Wasn’t that last week?”
Izzy nods.
Edward sighs. “Should’ve said.”
