Gooey sat on the picnic blanket and drew something on the paper. So far, he was the only one was actually drawing something, though Drawcia sat beside him in case he needed help.
"Is that supposed to be a green rabbit?"
"It's s'posed to be a Beanbon." Gooey replied. Drawcia nodded. "I see, but maybe you could make the leaves darker?"
"Oh, maybe!" Gooey said as he grabbed a green crayon.
"All right, we've got more paper for everyone!" Ado said as she and Kirby stepped outside of the cabin. Kirby looked for a bit before he placed the paper on the blanket. "Hey, isn't Blade supposed to be here?"
"He said he wanted to invite a couple more friends over," Gooey replied as he grabbed another piece of paper and started drawing. Kirby let out a sigh of annoyance. "I thought he'd be here by now."
"I'm sure he'll show up," Ado said reassuringly. Kirby nodded in response. "He'd better or I'll have to drag him here myself."
As if on cue, the elder Dark Matter flew into the yard in his true form. He looked exhausted from flying. He quickly shifted his Blade form.
"Forgive me, I did not mean to make anyone worry," Blade said as he sat down. "I thought that maybe Taranza and Paintra would've wanted to join, too."
"What did they say?" Kirby asked.
"They said yes," Blade replied. "But they'll be another minute."
"In that case I'm gonna go grab some more art supplies," Adeleine said with her hands clasped together. She ran back to her cabin while Kirby sat down. Meanwhile, Gooey sprouted another arm and waved to get his brother's attention. "Hey, why dun you come over and draw with me?"
Blade quietly made his way over to Gooey's side. He grabbed a piece of paper and some crayons as he began to draw. As he did, Drawcia couldn't help but give him a curious look.
"So you're the brother I've heard so much about."
Blade glanced at her before he shyly looked down at his drawing. "Whatever you've heard, I promise I'm not like that anymore."
"I know," Drawcia said in a quieter tone in an attempt to match Blade's. "Sorry, I didn't mean to sound rude."
"...It's fine," Blade replied as he continued to draw. Gooey looked up at Drawcia as he showed her his drawing again. "Here, I made the leaves darker this time."
"Oh, that actually looks like a Beanbon," Drawcia said as she looked at the drawing again. "Good job, Gooey!"
Gooey smiled proudly at his drawing. Blade looked at it for a moment before he continued on with his. "I agree, it looks good."
"What are you trying to draw?" Gooey asked.
"...Some kind of sunset," Blade replied. "I don't think it's turning out the way I wanted, though.
"Could I take a look" Drawcia asked. Blade gave her the picture, the bottom half was green while the top half was red, there was a yellow semi circle in the middle which looked like it was supposed to be the sun.
"I think you have the right idea, but try using more oranges or purples for the sky," Drawcia advised. "Maybe you could use yellow for the grass, too."
Blade tried to think about it for a moment, he grabbed a purple crayon as he colored part of the sky...perhaps he went a little overboard with the purple, but the drawing started to turn out a little better. He even used a yellow crayon to color parts of the "grass" like Drawcia told him to do.
"...Does this look any better?" Blade asked as he handed the drawing to Drawcia again. The witch looked at it for a bit and nodded. "It looks much better."
"Thank you," Blade replied as he took the picture back. "Colors aren't really my strong suit, so I'm glad you think so."
"So what made you decide to draw with us, then?"
"A couple of reasons, actually," Blade replied. "First one is because of Gooey, the second one is because Adeleine wanted me to meet you."
"Also, he hates rainbows, so he thought that being here would help him get over it," Gooey added. Blade hissed immediately afterwards, his face turned bright red. Drawcia couldn't help but giggle at the duo.
"It's a silly fear, but I think I get it." Drawcia assured Blade. "The light can really hurt you guys, I even lost my father because a human murdered him with a crystal dagger."
"...Do you mean your Zero?" Blade asked. "Forgive me if I sound rude, but you don't exactly seem like a Dark Matter if I'm being honest."
"I'm not, and my father wasn't a Zero." Drawcia said as she tried to explain. "He was a scout like you."
"I see...so then who created you?" Blade asked.
"My mother, she was a human." Drawcia explained.
"She was human!?" Blade yelled in shock. "You mean like Adeleine!?"
"Why are you so shocked?" Gooey asked.
"Because Paintra told me the same thing!"
Gooey went silent for a moment as the thought swirled in his head. His eyes widened as he started to make some connections in his mind. "Oooooh..."
While the brothers sat there in complete disbelief, Drawcia couldn't help but give them a worried look. "I'm sorry, who's Paintra?"
Blade let out a deep breath as he looked down at Gooey. "Do you...do you want to tell her?"
"I dunno, do you?" Gooey asked back. Both brothers looked to their sides as Taranza and Paintra suddenly came into view, the latter left all sorts of colors on the ground as she skipped along the ground.
"So sorry for being late," Taranza said. "I just needed to work on my hair for a bit."
"We're in the right spot, aren't we?" Paintra asked as she looked around. "Because I don't see the human anywhere."
She froze as her gaze met Drawcia's, both witches stayed frozen like this for what seemed like forever.
"Is something wrong, Paintra?" Taranza asked with concern. Paintra shook her head as if to snap herself out of a trance, she hesitantly walked over to Drawcia. "H-Hi..."
"Hi," was all that Drawcia could say back. Gooey hadn't seen her act this nervous in a long time, yet he knew she was struggling. He looked at his brother, he looked like he wanted to help the witches as well.
"I'm so sorry for butting in like this," Blade said as he got up from his spot and floated by Paintra's side. "Paintra here happens to be Taranza's royal assistant, she's really good with art magic."
"So's Drawcia," Gooey said as he hopped over to Drawcia's side. "She came from Ter...Shiver Star a few years ago, but she's gotten used to living out here with Ado."
"...So you're from Terra Star, too?" Paintra asked. Drawcia nodded. "I was painted by a human."
"And what was the human's name?"
"Lisa."
"If that's the case...then you must be my sister!"
"I KNEW IT!"
Both sisters excitedly embraced each other, they were so happy to see each other that they were practically crying. Gooey and Blade stepped aside so that they could have their space.
"Well, I never thought we'd reunite Paintra with her sister on a day like this," Taranza said quietly as he placed a hand on Blade's back.
"Honestly I didn't either," Blade said as he looked down at Gooey. "But it was bound to happen sooner or later, don't you think?"
Gooey nodded in agreement. He knew what it was like to lose his sibling for a while, but he never knew what it was like to never know that sibling, so Drawcia and Paintra had every right to cry right now.
"All right, I've got more supplies and snacks," Ado said as she and Kirby stepped back out of the cabin and placed the supplies on the blanket. They were mostly crayons, markers, and pencils. Quickly, Drawcia flew towards Ado and started pulling her by the arm.
"Hey, what's gotten into you?"
"Ado, you HAVE to meet my sister!"
"What?"
Although surprised at first, Ado awkwardly waved at Paintra. In response, Paintra quickly hugged her and twirled her around. As the three artists got acquainted with each other, Kirby placed the snacks down on the blanket and walked over to Gooey.
"I dunno what you guys did, but I think you did something good."
"Yeah, me too." Gooey said as he continued to observe the trio. He was happy to see that Drawcia's wish had finally come true. She only really had Ado for a while, so she was happy to see her family grow at least a little bit.
