Chapter Text
Silvester's POV.
It was dark. I couldn't hear anything. I couldn't even move. What happened? As I began to gain more consciousness, I became more confused. That confusion turned to fear. Was I kidnapped? I began to panic inside my own head. Who would kidnap me? Was I going to die?
I began to regain my hearing. I heard a fan blowing and the sound of a candle burning. Soon, I felt the ability to open my eyes. I looked around. Where was I? I don't recognize anything around me. I noticed a bedside table with a black ballpoint pen, a notebook, and a small lamp that wasn't that bright. I reached my hand over the table to grab the notebook. I looked at it. The Lithuanian flag was on the cover of the notebook.
I heard the sound of running footsteps. I turned my head to see a door. I looked down at my limbs. I wasn't tied up. I should be grateful for that, but I'm just confused. Who kidnapped me? Why didn't they tie me up if they wanted to kidnap me? Who else was here? I slowly rose from my bed. I walked towards the door. I breathed a big sigh and opened the door. There was a long hallway of doors. Each door had a name written. I looked across from me. The word "Tali" was written on that door.
That was the name of the Luxembourgish girl from Eurovision this year. I thought. I looked up at my door. It read "Silvester Belt". That's not my actual name, but I went to Eurovision with that stage name. This was all getting really weird.
Sarah Bonnici rushed out of the room to the right of mine. She looked shocked, confused, and pissed all at the same time.
"Okay. Where the hell am I, and who the hell brought me here?" She spoke in a snarky tone.
"I... I don't know." I spoke. Sarah turned to face me.
"Silvester Belt??? You're here too???" She gasped.
"It looks like everyone from Eurovision 2024 is.." I sighed and rubbed my neck. I let that sink in a bit. Then I realized....
"Have you seen Nemo?" I asked Sarah.
"Don't ask me. I just woke up." Sarah shrugged. As she began to look around at all the doors, I began to panic. Is my meilė okay? I need to find them.
Suddenly, a voice began to speak through an intercom.
"Attention, everyone. Please make your way down to the main room at this time. You're all in for a treat!"
I gulped. That can't be good... I walked down the hall to get to the main room, but this place was huge. I knew I wouldn't just find it. I had to search.
While walking down the hall, i ran into Olly Alexander, Mustii, Joost Klein, and Isaak. All four were doing various things to try and calm their nerves. Isaak seemed like he had ahold of his emotions. Joost was trying to cheer the other two up. Mustii was crying, and Olly was just shaking. I felt so bad for them. I just hope nothing scary is going to happen.
I decided to approach the four. I've seen Nemo hang around them a lot. Maybe they've seen them and know where they are.
"Hey guys. Have you seen Nemo?" I asked.
"N-no. We haven't..." Mustii trembled.
"Why are you looking for him?" Olly asked.
"Olly, Nemo uses They/Them pronouns, you hetero." Joost joked. I understood Joost's satire. He's always trying to make the best out of a bad situation by making jokes. Some of which are... questionable.
"I-I just wanna make sure they're okay." I trembled.
"They're probably in the main room by now." Isaak spoke.
"Do you guys know where that is?" I asked.
"We know about as much as you do. Although I'd like to find this room, and maybe a way out of here." Joost responded. That's when I saw Alyona Alyona from Ukraine. She had just run from somewhere.
"Guys. The main room is this way. Follow me!" She spoke. We all shrugged and followed her. We knew we could trust her. She's one of us.
When we got to the main room, everyone was there. Some were without their bandmates. I saw Jaklin Baghdasaryan from Armenia, Gunnhild Sundli of Norway, Kenzy Loevett of San Marino, Windows95Man of Finland, and Mery Bas of Spain, but none of them were with their bandmates or duo partners. I looked to my left and noticed that three out of the six Estonians from 5Miinust and Puuluup were all here: Kohver, Päevakoer, and Ramo Teder. Interesting, but not abnormal
I scouted the room for Nemo. I eventually found them near a corner. They looked scared and upset
"Nemo, meilė! I cried. They heard my call and ran for me.
"Silvy! You're here! I was worried sick!" Nemo trembled.
"Me too. I was looking for you." I spoke with a lump in my throat. We hugged tighter.
"Excuse me, but does anyone here know what the hell is going on?" Marko Puršić, or Baby Lasagna asked.
"I don't..." Luna trembled. Teya Dora cleared her throat.
"I think I do..." Teya trembled.
"Well? Say it!" Bambie Thug cried.
"Luke Black told me about a place he was sent to last year... someplace called... Murder Mansion..." Teya trailed off.
I gasped.
"Murder??? Are we gonna die????" Fahree raised his voice.
"It can't be that bad! No one's crazy enough to come up with the idea of bringing Eurovision contestants to a mansion and murder them, and surely no one would be able to pull it off and get away with it!" Isaak spoke.
"That's true...." Saba responded.
Nemo looked at me. Their big, blue eyes were filled with fear. They leaned their head on my shoulder.
"Don't worry, meilė. I'll protect you." I sighed.
The intercom went off again.
"Hello everyone, and welcome to Murder Mansion! This is a game of deception, betrayal, and murder. After this announcement, two of you will be selected as the murderers. Both of you must decide together on one person to kill each night. The lights off period, or 3:00 to 4:00, is the hour where the murderers will strike. At 8:00, the victim will be discovered. You will all have time to discuss who you think the killers are, and at 12:00, you will vote for the person you think is the most suspicious. The person with the most votes will be executed regardless of their role.
At 10:00 after the murder victim discovery and at 15:00 after the voting, a new role will be given to another player to either fight back the murderers, help catch the murderers, or occasionally to help the murderers. The murderers are only allowed to kill during the lights off period. Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES is anyone else allowed to kill anyone else.
The murderers wish you good luck."
I stood there, stunned. I couldn't even move. I looked at Nemo as I hugged them tighter. There was no way this was real...
"M-murder?" Tali trembled.
"WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!!!" Silia Kapsis cried. Everyone ran around the room frantically. I held onto Nemo. I clenched my eyes shut at the thought of anything bad happening to my meilė....
"GUYS!" Isaak cried. Everyone suddenly became quiet.
"It seems bad... but I guarantee that if I was the murderer, I wouldn't kill anyone. We could just stand as a revolution against this game!" He spoke.
"Isaak, you're crazy! If the killers didn't kill, they'd get killed. This game seems to have power over us..." Raiven trembled.
"There has to be another way!!" Isaak cried.
"Face it...." Olly sighed as he stood up. "The creators of this game seem to stop at nothing. They have the power to kill us all if they want."
I looked at the German man as he tried to find ways to assess the situation. I felt horrible. I just hope that we'll find a way out of here.
We all began to walk towards our dorms. I sighed. I opened the notebook on my bedside table to see if anything had been written in it. There was a message on the front page
"Hello, Silvester Belt.
Your role is INNOCENT. Try to catch the murderers before they kill you. You may be subject to a new role later in the game that could improve your chances of catching the murderers, or maybe to join them.
Good luck."
I let out a sigh in relief. I didn't have to do any of the killing. I just hope that Nemo got the same role as me...
??? POV.
I got the role of murderer... I cackled to myself. I had a few grudges that I wouldn't mind taking care of. The possibilities are endless! I have the control!
I wonder who my partner is. Maybe it's written in the notebook. I took a peek. The name of my partner was written there in bold letters.
I grinned more. This person seemed very strong. I think we have a chance... Especially after the first kill. I just have to get it approved by my teammate. I opened my door to get to the door of my teammate's. I knocked. They opened the door, and I walked in.
"Well hello to my partner in crime." They said.
"Hello there." I grinned. I shut the door behind me.
"Who should we get first?" They asked me. I cleared my throat as I spoke.
"As we all saw out there a little bit ago, there's someone who's very passionate about getting out of here, meaning this person is passionate about getting us out." I spoke. My teammate covered their mouth with their hand. They knew exactly where I was going with this.
"You're talking about Isaak, right?" They asked. I nodded.
"I mean. It's definitely a strategic move... no one will suspect we'd kill him, especially you." They chuckled. "It'll stir the pot of chaos..."
"So you're in?" I asked.
"I'm in!" They smiled. I chuckled to myself. If the murder of Isaak, as well as everyone else, is what it takes to get out of here, then it must be done. I sighed. Poor Isaak didn't deserve to die, but it's just how the cookie has to crumble.
I looked at the clock. 2:55. It was almost time to strike...
There's nowhere for Isaak to run now.....
Isaak's POV.
I paced back and forth across my room. I knew there had to be a way out of here. No one here deserves to die. I hope the murderers are loyal and won't kill anyone.
Finally, I plopped down on my bed. I sighed. I wondered what would happen if I didn't make it out of here. I thought about my wife and my children. They've probably called a search party for me.
Suddenly, the lights went out. It was time for the murderers to strike. I hoped the murderers have common sense and don't strike. I rested my head on the pillow, but I couldn't sleep.
Suddenly, I heard footsteps. They were getting closer and closer... suddenly, they stopped. I heard the click of my doorknob.
"N-no.... please..." I begged.
The door swung open, and a hooded figure walked closer to my bed.
"Hello, Isaak...." they spoke. I couldn't tell who this person was. There were no visible facial features, and they had a voice changer...
"No! Please don't do this! Please!" I cried in terror. The murderer inched closer to me, knife in hand. They raised the weapon as they said..
"It's too late for you now, Isaak....."
Joost's POV.
I couldn't sleep. It was too dark. I knew there was going to be some chaos. Why did we have to be here? Why couldn't we just have stayed united like in Malmö? I guess things couldn't stay the way they were...
I heard someone speed walking down the hall. I had my door cracked open. I saw someone. They had a knife... and they were walking into Isaak's room!
"Oh hell no!" I cried. I jumped out of my bed and bolted down the hall. When I got to Isaak's room, I saw the murderer lift their knife. I saw Isaak. His big, blue eyes were filled with terror as he imagined these final moments.
I needed to do something....
"NOOOOOOOO!" I cried as I grabbed the murderer by the leg. Isaak looked at me.
"JOOST, WHAT ARE YOU DOING??" He gasped.
"Saving you! You have loved ones waiting for you! I can't let you die!" I cried. The murderer groaned. He swung the knife anyway.
"ISAAK! GET OUT OF THE WAY!" I cried. Isaak shifted his movements quickly, but his arm was cut in the process...
Isaak's POV.
I shrieked as I felt the pain in my arm. What was Joost doing here? Why was he trying to save me?
The murderer looked at me, then at Joost. I watched as the murderer's posture shifted towards Joost....
"So you have a death wish?" The murderer chuckled.
"N-NO! DON'T HURT HIM!!" I cried, but it was too late.... I heard the agonizing scream from the Dutch man. The murderer stood up, knowing that what they came here to do would be successful..
"NOOOOO!" I cried. I rushed over to Joost. He looked at me with eyes filled with pain, but also relief.
"No! No please!" I cried.
"Isaak.. I told you... y-you have... you have family w-waiting...." Joost whispered.
"But so do you! Come on! More people will miss you!" I trembled.
"That's... n-not true... Isaak.... j-just don't... forget this...." Joost trembled.
"Joost! Please!" I cried.
"You're more.... more valuable in this... g-game.... You... have more of a chance... a-at catching the k-killers...." Joost whispered. He clenched his eyes shut from the pain. "Just... make me proud... okay?"
"Joost....." I trembled. I looked at him. He gave me one more small smile..
"Twelve points... to the Netherlands..." he whispered before his body sank into the floor. He.... he was gone...
"NO! PLEASE! NO! COME BACK!" I cried. Looking at my Dutch friend as he lay in the ground lifeless... it broke me... He gave himself to save me....
I looked down at the blood dripping from my arm. It didn't even hurt anymore... all that mattered... Joost.....
I knew, now more than ever, that I had to find these killers... I had to avenge Joost, and everyone else who would fall later...
Don't worry, Joost... your sacrifice will not be forgotten....
