Jim’s mind feels like the sort of controlled chaos Spock associates with terran jazz music, the way absolute discipline allows him to improvise, adapt, change. His mind is agile, stretches and bends, twists into new connections and constellations. Jim is evidently pleased with this observation. And he thinks, in turn, that Spock’s mind feels exactly how the library felt to him when he was a child. He does not need to remind Spock that he loves the library.
