Chapter Text
He had told Fatgum and the others that he could handle it, but he hesitated. Now Suneater was fighting not one, not two, but three Yakuza members.
Suneater messed up and now he was fighting some dude that can take his clams away, some guy that made crystals, and finally, the one that scared him the most, the one that was currently eating the last of his tentacles.
“What-” Suneater got knocked to the ground before he had the chance to process what was happening. He Struggled against the masked man’s grip. “You ‘re all maniacs.” He said through gritted teeth.
The one who can take the clams pinned him to the ground, pushing him into the hard concrete.“That was a mistake sending them off. We beat you, now my friend will eat you.”
“Stop rhyming, you sound like a maniac.”
“Says Tentacle Arms.”
“That’s so mean.” Suneater said, looking away in embarrassment. He needed to get out of there but with some villain on top of him and two more as backup, he didn’t know if that was possible.
Then, he remembered what Fatgum had given him earlier. A piece of swordfish, Suneater had never really trained with swordfish, but how hard could it be. Besides, at that moment it was his only choice.
Suneater transformed his arm into a sword and swung, trying to get the man on top of him to fall off. It worked. The man’s top half fell to the ground, his bottom remaining slumped over Tamaki.
Tamaki froze, he had just killed a man. He, a hero in training. One of the big three, had just resorted to killing a man. Tamaki was a good long to mid range fighter, with the help of his tentacles, a decent close combat fighter with the help of his clams. But his clams got taken away. He had no other choice, right?
“I just..” Tamaki tried to take a deep breath, he needed to concentrate. But he has just killed a man. There’s nothing more to it.
Before he could say or do anything else, the masked crystal villain attacked, slamming Tamaki into the wall. He couldn’t get out, he was too distraught to even move.
“You killed him! And you all call yourself a hero! You’re the insane one, not us!” Tamaki looked at the man in desperation. He felt himself passing out from the chokehold that the man had. But he was right, what kind of hero was he supposed to be? The type who kills people? Tamaki had nothing to say, his eyes slowly closing, all he could do was manage one last swing of the sword as the last of his conciseness left him.
I’m great because you make my great something along those lines I’ll find the actual quote later
Tamaki wakes up, the room reeks of blood and he feels a terrible pain on the back of his knee. He flinched at every, what seems like a bite, wait, a bite?
Tamaki looked down and saw the last masked man. The one with an unwavering hunger. The one that was currently eating his leg.
Tamaki groaned out in pain. In a spur of panic, he tried to get away by dragging himself from the madman but the man simply followed, his teeth only sunk deeper into Tamaki's leg. The pain was getting worse by the second, what could he do? He had no more tentacles, his clams were stolen, and the sword was no more. Tamaki was completely alone.
He continued to drag himself across the room, seeing the crystal villain slumped against the wall.
An interesting characteristic of humans is they'll do anything to survive. That was the one thing Tamaki was thinking about. How to survive. He had never tested the limits of his quirk but in this situation his head was pounding and it was getting harder to breathe and move by the second.
Tamaki needed something that’d give him any sort of shield. He desperately reached forward and grabbed one of the crystals and attempted to bite it. He suddenly stopped.
Crystals weren’t supposed to be soft. Crystals didn't taste like blood either. His mouth suddenly filled with bile. He covered his mouth and gagged softly before his eyes adjusted to the scene in front of him. The deathly pale arm of the crystal guy.
Tamaki quickly swallowed, forcing any throw up back down. “I am so sorry,” he said softly to the dead body before sinking his teeth and tearing off a strip of flesh.
He swallowed before he could regret anything. Thinking about such things would just lead to hesitation, which he didn't have time for. Suneaters body became covered in small crystals. An improvement, but it wasn't enough. He took another deep breath.
His body felt like it was on autopilot. As he forced himself to swallow his eyes flicked up toward the corpse face; Its wide eyes stared back at him. But a corpse can't stare.
A small sound escaped the man's lips. There was a small pause as realization hit both of them. The man let out a scream until his voice cracked and nothing was heard except for the air he was letting out as a substitute for a cry. Suneater looked down. Dried blood covered his nose and chin, it smeared along his hands and the floor.
Tamaki dry heaved, covering his mouth as he gagged. He felt sick. Dirty, Disgusting. He wanted nothing more than to shove his fingers down his throat until everything in the stomach was out. Blood pooled around the man.
On top of the injuries he sustained, blood gushed out rapidly from his forearm. He desperately attempted to stop the blood by pressing his hand into the open wound. Blood seeped out from between his fingers. Tamaki watched in horror as the man's breathing became ragged with panic.
He wanted to save him. He wanted to help. He wanted to move. But he couldn't. He stared silently until the man gave him one final urgent glance before his eyes closed slightly and his body went limp. The lack of sound was terrifying.
Sharp pain shot up his leg, reminding him of the situation at hand. The man gnawing at his leg had hit the bone, and he wouldn’t stop. Soft crunches and clicks filled in the silence, suddenly not hearing anything felt like a better opinion than this.
The pain became too painful to bear. Why did he do that? Why did he do that? He should have just died. He wishes he did.
He wishes he was dead.
Out of instinct he formed a large layer of crystal around his leg.
What a liar.
As much as Tamaki wanted to just give up, he couldn’t, not that he didn’t want to, his body was in fight or flight.
The man must have bit through an artery because Tamaki's eyes started close, he couldn’t even register what happened next, all he knew is that when he woke he was praised for taking down three men all by himself.
The rest was a blur, they say he saved Mr. Aizawa, the others saved the girl named Eri. He wasn't sure and in all honesty, he didn’t even know what was happening around him anymore.
Tamaki was placed on a stretcher and is being taken to the hospital. They said he got lucky. The man didn’t fully bite through his artery so the blood loss isn’t as bad as it could’ve been.
He doesn’t feel lucky.
