Chapter 1: The Undergrad
Chapter Text
“You’re such a virgin.”
“Shut up, Harri.” Hermione glared at her sister who insisted on sleeping with her latest fuckbuddy right there in the living room. “Couldn’t you have taken him upstairs first?”
“We got carried away,” the other girl smirked. “The look on your face was worth Drake’s embarrassment.”
“I didn’t expect to see you–”
“Getting fucked?” she supplied, laughing.
“Having sex in our family room!”
Harriet shrugged and said, “I do it all the time when you’re not here. You go to your big fancy private university and I have the house for myself.”
“Mom still lives here, you know.”
“She works non-stop. She only comes home to sleep and she is gone. Besides, what is so wrong with my having sex in my home?”
Hermione knew she had a point. This kind of conversation always made her uncomfortable. She was not a prude. Hermione was simply ignorant and that fact annoyed her to no end. “There’s nothing wrong, I guess.”
Harri smiled, knowing she had won this battle. The two girls could not be any different. Harri was their father’s clone while Hermione favored her maternal grandmother. Somehow her mother, Lily’s, redhead gene skipped her. They were the same height but that was it. Harri was athletic, popular, and always getting into trouble. Hermione was a total nerd, a science geek who kept to herself and spent her weekends studying, not watching football games or going out with friends.
“I hate it when you call me that,” Hermione told her. “You make it seem like a bad thing that I haven’t done it yet.”
“It’s not a bad thing,” Harri told her. “But, I can tell that you are judging me for my choices. I’m always safe and I know my status. Do you even know how to get birth control?”
“If I wanted to know, I would figure it out.”
“That might be too late,” Harri said seriously. “What if the perfect guy fell out of the sky and you couldn’t help it.”
Hermione considered Harri’s words and slumped back onto the sofa– the side Harri wasn’t using with her special friend. Hermione could list every element and their properties in order but she knew very little about sex, men, and relationships. Harri was the expert. Their mother was very sex-positive and explained to her girls when they were fifteen that she preferred that they knew how to protect themselves rather than trying to undo any silly teenage mistakes like the one she had made. After losing her virginity to the most popular jock in school, James Potter, she found herself pregnant with twins. Marrying him at eighteen was another mistake. By the time the girls were five years old he was gone. Hermione thought this was a catalyst for Harri’s initial promiscuity. She was always chasing boys and now that they were adults, she chased men. Many, many, men. James Potter paid the minimum child support payment and never attended birthdays or graduations. Luckily, the twins had a godfather who was much more solid. Severus was their mother’s best friend from childhood and stood by her during everything– the shitty marriage and the necessary divorce.
James’ absence did not just affect Harri. Hermione knew it was responsible for her attraction to men who were much too old for her. She was not a virgin because she hid herself away from her peers. It was because her peers were unattractive to her. When she lay in bed at night, touching herself, it was the thought of a tall, strong, older man telling her to be a good girl that sent her over. And ever since she was seventeen, there was only one man who fulfilled that position in her fantasies. How could she date any of her classmates when her godfather, Severus, was in her life?
“Harri, the men I want, do not want me.”
“Who? Guys on those sci-fi movies you love?”
“No,” Hermione laughed. “Forget about it.”
“Do you want to lose it?”
Hermione nodded. “Just with the right person.”
“I can respect that.”
“You lost it to Cai Chang, right? Cho’s brother?”
Harri smiled wistfully. “He was a great boyfriend. It’s too bad they moved away. I hope you find someone like him for the first time. He was really nice and kept things between us.”
“Hey, Harri? What do you think of dating older men?” Hermione asked, reaching for the television remote to find a distraction.
“Dating or sleeping with? Those are very different.”
“Okay. Sleeping with first.” Hermione turned the channel to the home shopping network, not really interested in what was on the screen at the moment.
“As long as you are safe and doing it because you want to and no one is forcing you. Fine. I don’t see why you should not. Just watch out. He could have kids our age or a wife. Why? Is there someone in mind?”
Hermione blushed. “No! I was just thinking about it.”
“Right… Is it one of your professors? I bet they’re so hot.”
“Are you checking out the professors at your college?”
Harri shook her head. “Because I’m a pre-nursing major, most of them are women so… I’m not really opposed to older men but the young ones are easier. I don’t want to have to work hard to sneak around.”
“As I saw with Drake,” Hermione chuckled.
“Right. I’m sorry for calling you that,” Harri admitted. “You’ll get there when you’re ready, with the right person.”
“Thanks, sis. I’m leaving tomorrow so do you want to go out to a movie or stay in and do each other’s nails and order a pizza?”
“Stay in, definitely!”
The next morning, their godfather came to pick up Hermione so they could both return to campus. As Lily hugged Hermione goodbye, she told her, “Good luck this semester. Remember to visit Sev and call him if you need anything. I worry about you living so far away.”
“It is only two hours,” Severus told Lily, pressing a kiss to her cheek. “She will be in good hands. You know I will never let anything happen to her. She’s like my own.”
Hermione’s heart fell at the sentiment and she hated when he kissed her mother that way. The twins had asked her several times if they were a couple and she insisted they were just friends. Hermione prayed that was still true, not that she would have him one way or another.
“Be proud, Lils. She earned a full scholarship. She is mature and can manage. Alright? We’ll be back for Spring Break. March will be here before you know it.”
“You’re right.”
With one last kiss and hug for her mother and sister, Hermione jumped into the passenger seat, preparing herself for a two-hour ride with her first serious crush.
It took an hour and a half before she asked, “Sev?” She carefully shifted in her seat and pretended to scroll through social media. “How come you don’t have a girlfriend?”
He laughed. “Who says I don’t have one?”
“I would know. You tell me most things.”
“Alright, Nosy. I am pretty busy with my work and my research.”
“No one ever caught your eye?”
“What is this about, Hermione?” he asked, turning onto the exit of the highway. They were only thirty minutes from the university.
“Nothing. I am just curious. What about the other professors in your department? Like Professor Trelawny?”
“Between me and you– I mean it, Hermione– Trelawny is insane.”
Hermione laughed and said, “I know. I had her two semesters ago.”
“So what possessed you to even suggest such a thing?”
“I just thought you might be lonely.”
“I am not. I am alone but I am not lonely.”
The conversation switched to what courses she selected and the campus events she was looking forward to. Severus’ classes were always her favorites even though it was next to impossible to pass with an A. She still did though.
Ginny Weasley came from a conservative family. She and Hermione were assigned the same dormitory because they both received invitations to a living and learning program based on their chosen majors. Hermione wished to break into biochemistry while Ginny pursued a degree in sports medicine. Their mutual interest in science made Ginny a perfect roommate for the past two and a half years. She shared a few classes with Hermione and she respected the need for quiet. Not to mention, Ginny was just as neat as she was.
Unfortunately, Ginny’s boyfriend transferred to their university and was always in their dorm. This also meant they were always having sex in their shared room because he still lived with his parents and that was awkward. Hermione accepted this fact and asked Ginny to put a discreet symbol on the whiteboard outside their door so she would not walk in on them.
Hermione loved Ginny but sharing a room with a twenty-one-year-old whose boyfriend was at his peak was wearing her out. When she visited Severus the next day, she immediately crashed onto his couch.
“What’s wrong with you? Midterms are in a month.”
“My roommate won’t stop fucking her boyfriend in our room.”
Severus sputtered out, “Hermione!”
“Sorry! I’m just too exhausted to filter anything. Do you know where I slept last night?”
“No,” he answered, concerned. “You didn’t sleep in your room? That is unacceptable. You both earned a place in that dorm.”
“I know. Luckily, another girl in the program named Padma, got up to use the bathroom and saw me sleeping in the common room. She let me sleep in her roommate's bed. She is gone for the weekend.”
“Are you going to do anything about your roommate?”
Hermione shook her head. “I don’t want to make her mad at me.”
“She’s taking advantage of you and your kindness.”
“I have this last semester with her. I’ll just have to get through it.”
Severus threw his hands up in defeat. Hermione would do whatever she thought was best, no matter what he said. She was determined and stubborn at the worst of times.
“Well, how does she feel when you kick her out of the room?”
“Why would I do that?” Hermione asked genuinely.
Severus blushed and raised his eyebrows.
“Oh! I never– No, I don’t kick her out. I focus on studying and then I study some more.”
Her godfather’s watch sounded and he said, “I have a lecture in fifteen minutes. You need to get some uninterrupted sleep. Can you get to my apartment from here?”
“Yes. I’ll take the R8 shuttle from the student union.”
“Good,” he replied. “I’m texting you both door codes. Go inside, make yourself at home, and get some sleep. You can stay all weekend if you want.”
Hermione stood up and hugged him. “Thank you so much. I’ll go to my dorm and pack a bag. I have a huge exam on Monday and I really appreciate it.”
“You know I’ll always look out for you.”
Severus’ apartment was clean but lived in. He had two bedrooms and after eating a late lunch or early dinner, Hermione crashed in the beautiful guest room. The bed was the type that adjusted to your body and the white comforter made her feel like she was sleeping in heaven. If the campus busses were more consistent, she might beg him to let her live here full time instead of in the dorms. By the time she woke, it was already half past eleven. She went to the bathroom and then the kitchen to grab a bite. Knowing exactly where he kept his stash of cookies, Hermione reached into the cabinet and heard someone clearing his throat.
“Oh! Sev. I just wanted a cookie.”
He laughed. “Of course. Have as many as you want. I just came to grab a glass of water. Are you alright? Do you need anything? There are towels in the bathroom and toothpaste in the medicine cabinet. The wifi password is on that chalkboard on the wall.”
“My computer remembered it,” Hermione told him smiling. “This place is better than a hotel.”
“I rent it out during the summer months.”
“Right,” she responded, munching on a snickerdoodle. “I’m already well rested.”
“Well, I’m exhausted. If you decide to throw a rave, I probably won’t wake up.”
“Perfect,” she laughed. “I was probably going to watch some Netflix until I fell asleep again.”
The man, wearing a pair of pajama bottoms and a university merch t-shirt, left her in the kitchen and closed his door silently.
Hermione closed the tab with Netflix. She was wide awake but nothing could keep her attention. Her hand naturally went to the waistband of her sleep shorts. The only thing she could hear was the sounds of the street below and the slickness of her finger rubbing against her clit. She had been wet since earlier that day in his office. Her godfather and professor made her wet beyond all that made sense. As she inched closer and closer to the edge, she began to whisper to herself. “Please don’t stop. Please, Sev. I love it. Please, Daddy.”
Her breath hitched and she whined when the orgasm finally hit.
“Yes, Sev!” she whimpered loudly before smacking her hand over her mouth. It was then that she realized that the door was not closed completely. It creaked slightly and scared her. Gasping, Hermione raced to the door to see what or who was on the other side. The apartment was dark and silent, just as she had left it. She prayed that Severus was a heavy sleeper, as he informed her. She looked at the door to his bedroom and saw it was still shut. The clock on the microwave shone a bright green 2:27 AM.
Hermione returned to bed, hoping he hadn’t heard her through the walls.
Chapter 2: The Senior
Chapter Text
Hermione heard a light tap at the bedroom door that roused her from a deep slumber. “Come in,” she said without thinking. In the night, she must have gotten overheated and threw the comforter to the floor. When Severus pushed the door open, he said, “Oh! Sorry, I thought you said to come in.”
Hermione, confused and sleepy, felt the movement of air coming in from the open door. She typically took off her shorts, especially when she was masturbating. That was how she was most comfortable and since she was free from the dorms, she made herself at home. Just as he suggested. Now, her godfather had a full view of her thong and ass cheeks.
“Oh shit!” she exclaimed. “I’m sorry.” She grabbed the blanket from the foot of the bed and covered herself. “Just pretend like you did not see that.”
“I will,” he replied, blushing like he was the one who was half-naked in someone else’s house. “Anyway, I came to ask if you wanted to go out for breakfast. You can’t study every second.”
Hermione grinned and nodded. “Let me take a shower and I’ll be right out.”
Severus was already dressed in dark pants and a simple graphic t-shirt, This reminded her of when they were home and he would take Hermione and Harri out for the day. During the school year, Hermione mostly saw him in slacks and a serious button-up.
Both looks did something for her. When he was dressed down, he was the cool, older boyfriend who always made her feel small and safe. When Severus wore his work attire, Hermione saw him as her professor who could punish her for all the naughty thoughts she had about him in class. Last night, seeing him in his glasses and pajamas, made her think of him as her Daddy and she was his little girl. Between exposing herself and crying out his name last night, Hermione did not think she could get through this weekend without revealing her true feelings for him. That would be a catastrophe of epic proportions. What would her mother say?
After the best shower she had in weeks since coming back to school, Hermione dressed in a bright pink thong and her yoga pants. For her top, she decided to don a crop top that she would cover with a sweatshirt he’d bought her three years prior as a gift for getting accepted into the university. It was February and fucking freezing but they would only be out in the cold to go from his car and into a warm pancake house.
“How’s everything else going? You know, outside the horny roommate problem…”
Hermione giggled, sipping on a glass of orange juice. “Senior year is hard but it’s nothing I can’t handle. I have some good professors. One is a total hardass though.”
Severus stirred cream and sugar into his coffee, smiling at her. “Who? Who could be giving you so much trouble?”
“I’ll let you guess from a few clues. He is sarcastic as hell. When someone messes up, he calls them a dunderhead.” This made Severus chuckle heartily. “And he clearly has a favorite.”
“Oh really? Who is his favorite?”
“This senior. You know, the really nerdy type,” she continued. “They’re always together.”
“I think I have a guess. Is it Lockhart?”
“No,” Hermione answered mischievously.
“Hmm… Professor Black?”
“No. One more try.”
“Me?”
“You got it.” The waiter arrived at their table then and placed three large platters before them. How did they order so much food? Hermione was glad that she would have leftovers for dinner that night.
“And what is this about me having a favorite?” Severus asked, playing along.
Hermione eyed him cheekily. “Haven’t you heard? There’s gossip that you’ve been letting a student spend afternoons in your office and nights at your home. It’s very scandalous.”
“Those are dangerous accusations, Hermione. I hope you set them straight.”
She pretended to share his false concern. “I do. But, they’d say I was just defending you so you could give me good grades.”
“You wouldn’t need to. You’re probably the brightest student in the major. Sure to be valedictorian.” If that didn’t make her want to drag him into the parking lot and suck him off, she did not know what would. If you have a praise kink, stand up…
“Thank you,” she said. “I’m getting hot. They have the heat on high, I swear.” Hermione left the booth to take off her outerwear and her sweatshirt, leaving her midriff exposed. Her godfather tried and failed not to stare. All the girls on campus dressed like this so Hermione asked him, “Are you uncomfortable? I can put my sweatshirt back on.”
“No,” he promised her. “I just didn’t expect it. It’s almost zero degrees today.”
“I like to dress in layers,” she explained, gathering some of her scrambled eggs and a piece of bacon. She decided to leave her pancakes for later as they would reheat perfectly back at the apartment.
“Okay, It reminds me of Harriet’s wardrobe, actually. She always liked to show a little skin.”
“Well, the pants are hers. Don’t tell her I stole them.”
“Your secret is safe with me.”
God, he didn’t know how much she wanted to tell him.
“She’s a bad influence on you?” he asked.
Hermione laughed. “She tries. Just yesterday… Nevermind. I can’t tell you.”
“You tell me everything, don’t you?”
Biting her lips she told him a small fraction of all she wanted to. “She’s been teasing me about losing my virginity.”
He choked on his French toast. “Why?”
“She thinks I need help finding the right guy.”
“You’re still a… you know?”
Hermione nodded. “I know. It’s pathetic. I’m months away from graduation and I’m still like this.”
“There’s nothing wrong with waiting for the right time or person.”
“Hmm… I’ll tell you more when we get back. There’s a family behind you and I don’t want them to hear what we’re talking about.”
Breakfast was excellent and with a full stomach, Hermione wanted to return to sleep and promptly fell onto the sofa.
She watched Severus putter around the kitchen before joining her. She placed her feet in his lap and lounged back on the cushions. Sports played on the television but she was mainly focused on how close her heel was to his dick.
“I want to stay here for the rest of the semester,” she told him out of nowhere.
“You’re welcome to but it is a little inconvenient for a student without a bike or car.”
“Being able to sleep, shower, and have some privacy is worth it. Maybe that’s why I haven’t lost my virginity yet.”
“Because of the showers in the dorms?”
She laughed and wiggled her feet. “No. Privacy. I don’t want to lose it in a dorm room or in the back of someone’s car. You know?”
“Listen, Hermione, you’ll get there one day. Don’t force it. There are so many guys on campus and I bet a few wish you would look their way but they’re too shy.”
“My problem isn’t that guys don’t talk to me. They do. My problem is that I don’t want them, Sev.”
“What’s wrong with them?”
She licked her lips and placed her hand just above her navel, bringing attention to her tiny waist, just perfect for grabbing hold of as she rode him. “They’re too young. I have a crush on someone. He’s a bit older.”
“Have you told him?”
“I think about it sometimes but then I lose my nerve.”
“Why?”
“I think I’ll be really bad at it.”
“Bad at sex?”
“Yeah.” Hermione shifted, purposefully so that her heel rubbed against his crotch more than a few times. “I was thinking that you could help me.”
“With what?” He asked, staring her down. The hands that were gently playing with her socked feet, froze.
“Can you show me how to be good at it?”
“Hermione…” he said pushing her away and standing up. “I’m older than your father.”
“Yeah, by three weeks. And so? You’re not my father. I’m almost twenty-two. We’re both consenting. You’re not seeing anyone so you won’t be cheating.”
“That is why you asked me all those questions on the drive down here?”
Hermione sat up and crossed her arms. “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have asked.”
“You’re right,” he said, pacing. “I’m taking you back to campus tonight.”
“Please don’t!” Hermione begged. Nothing was going right. “Can I stay? I need to study and it’s nice and quiet here. I promise I’ll never bring this up again. No one will know that this conversation even happened.”
“Alright,” Severus agreed. As he shuffled out of the room, Hermione couldn’t help but notice that he wasn’t walking normally. She followed him, pretending to go to the guest room, and saw that his body had reacted to her request. She smiled and made a plan. She was going to pull an all-nighter.
Severus went through his apartment and turned off every light. He knocked on Hermione’s door which startled her. When she studied, she listened to pop and alternative rock. It made it hard to hear but easy to focus.
“Yeah?” she asked.
“I’m heading in for the night. Is there anything you need?”
She shook her head and smiled. He pulled the door closed and left her, oblivious to her machinations. She paused her music and switched to an incognito tab with her favorite genre of porn. Resettling on the bed, she placed her laptop off to the side and chose her first video. It was about a barely eighteen-year-old girl getting punished by her stepdad for skipping school. The actress was a little over the top but Hermione still became aroused. When she got bored, she tried something else. This time the video’s premise was a student begging her professor for a better grade or else her parents would send her to boarding school. This made her laugh because that sounded like a fantasy come true in her opinion.
The video that got her closest to coming was a homemade video of a cam girl fucking herself with a massive dildo. The girl's toes furled and her eyes crossed which was lovely. What got Hermione was when the young woman cried out, “Fuck me, Daddy. Fuck!” Hermione was never one to stop after one orgasm but took a breather. She knew what she needed to do now.
Closing her laptop, Hermione imagined she was begging her godfather for a better grade. She would worship what she believed to be a gorgeous, large cock with her tongue. He would tell her what a good girl she was and how smart she was. He would tell her to stop being so naughty when she touched herself or humped his thigh. Hermione imagined how he would bend her over his workbench in Lab 302 and fuck her hard. He’d tell her to stay quiet when she held his cock in his mouth as he conducted office hours. Students would come and go and they would never know that she was his little cocksleeve. He would come all over her face. She’d tell him how much she loved the taste of Daddy’s cum.
Hermione’s breath hitched and she moaned like she was dying to come. “That feels so good! Don’t stop, Sev. Please, don’t stop!” she shouted as loud as she could without sounding too much like a porn star. “Daddy, please! Give me that good dick! I’ll be good. I promise, Daddy. I’ll be good. Sev, I’ll be good. Just keep fucking me.”
It took less than ten seconds for her to hear a knock at the door. Not bothering to even close her legs or pull her fingers from her pussy, Hermione said, “Come in, Daddy.”
Chapter 3: The Scholar
Chapter Text
The door to the guest room opened slowly. Hermione watched her godfather take in the sight of her, and stare.
“Come in,” she repeated. “I mean it this time.”
She pushed herself up on her elbows and bit her bottom lip. He still hadn’t made a step towards her.
“Sev? Are you okay?” she asked, thinking she might have broken him.
He swallowed, his Adam’s apple bobbing in his throat. “What the hell do you think you are doing?”
“I’m making myself at home, Daddy.”
“Don’t call me that.”
She pouted, “You like it though.” Hermione gestured for him to look down at the tent in his pajama bottoms.
“You are no virgin,” he said to no one in particular. “You are a succubus.”
“Hey!” Hermione said, offended. “Just because I haven’t had sex does not mean, I haven’t explored my sexuality. I am not a demon.”
“Do you have to do that when I’m standing here?”
Hermione never moved her hand away from her clit as she spoke to him.
“You’re the one making me wet again,” she told him with a smirk. “Come closer, please?”
He shook his head but still didn’t make a move to leave the room. “What do you want from me?”
“I want you to teach me.”
“Chemistry?” he asked stupidly as she used one hand to rub her clit and the other to twist her nipple, causing her to moan softly.
“How to fuck, make love, have sex. Whatever you want to call it. Teach me?”
There was a twenty-one-year-old goddess in his house, begging him to fuck her. She wanted to call him Daddy and be a good girl for him. His cock was rock hard before he even knocked on the guest room door.
Hermione watched him walk across the room and settle on the edge of the bed. “We have to make some rules.” She gasped, surprised that he was actually going to touch her in the way she’d wanted since she was a teenager.
“No one can know about this.” He put his hand on top of hers, stopping her from masturbating in front of him. “You don’t touch without permission.”
Hermione’s pussy clenched at the demand. “Yes, Daddy.” She would do whatever he asked. Anything.
“Your mother cannot know about this.”
Of course, Hermione thought. “Do you think she will be jealous?”
“I think she’ll want to kill me. I’m fucking her daughter.”
Hermione grinned and giggled. “Finally.”
Severus grabbed her other hand and held her down, pushing both hands above her head. “I’m supposed to be taking care of you. That’s what I promised her.”
“You are,” she told him easily. Hermione looked up at him with her wide eyes. She had been dreaming of this moment for years. She lifted her head up to catch his lips but he pulled back, shaking his head.
“No kissing.”
“Why?” she whined.
“Kissing on the lips is too intimate.”
“And having your cock inside of me isn’t?”
“Don’t push it, Hermione. We do this on my terms. I don’t want your heart broken. I will teach you and you can go after the man you really want.”
He normally wasn’t this stupid but Hermione still loved him. How could he not figure out that he was the subject of her desires?
He used his knees to keep her thighs open and maintained his space above her, holding her down. He ground into her and Hermione tried to free her hands so she could touch him. All she wanted to was pull down his pajamas and see that fantastic cock firsthand.
“Be a good girl,” he told her, looking her in the eyes and never wavering.
“Ok,” she told him breathlessly.
“Who?”
“Okay, Daddy,” she corrected instantly.
“Good girl,” he whispered in her ear. “Tell me, baby. How far have you gone?”
“Harri’s best guy friend finger fucked me when we were sixteen. We were at the back of the bus coming back from a music competition.”
“Was it good?”
“No, Daddy.”
“What was wrong with it?”
“Too rough, and I wasn’t wet enough.”
Severus pressed his lips behind her ears and trailed them down to her neck, sucking small love bites. “If I reached down, what would I find?”
“My wet cunt, Daddy.”
“You have a dirty mouth, baby. Before I came in here, what were you thinking about? What has you so wet?”
Hermione knew he was aching and hard. There was no way he’d deny her now.
“I was thinking about a porno I had just watched, Daddy.”
“What was it about?”
“Just stuff. It’s embarrassing.” She’d make him work for it just like he was making her work for him.
“Do you watch porn all the time?”
“Yes, Daddy,” she said, squirming. She pulled her hands again, but he still held them tight.
“Tell me what you like to watch, or I’ll go back to my room.”
“Don’t!” Hermione begged. “I’ll tell you. I like to watch ones where a student does whatever it takes for a good grade. She fucks him in his office or right there in the classroom.”
“Jesus, Hermione. I--I did not need that visual.” Hermione could see that he was still holding back. She wanted the full experience.
“You don’t want to think about me sucking your cock in the lab or under your desk in your office? I’ll do it if you ask me to, Daddy.”
His eyes went dark and he growled. “What else were you watching? I could hear the videos through the wall.”
Hermione lost her flirtatious flair. She was slipping into a submissive role. “Stepdad fucks his stepdaughter.”
“You like that kind of thing? What about domination? Do you like being told what to do?”
She nodded.
“Answer me when I speak to you.”
“Yes, Daddy. I like it.”
“Get on the floor. Kneel and sit on your heels.”
Hermione did as she was told and Severus stripped her of the tank top she was wearing, exposing her nipples to the cool air.
“Pull down my pajamas.”
Hermione knew she had to be leaking. She had already come twice before he even got here. Severus was going to torture her and she could not wait.
She undid the tie in the drawstring, breathing heavily and licking her lips in anticipation. The bulge was considerable and she wondered if it was misleading. She hoped it wasn’t. As she pulled down the fabric, Hermione’s eyes widened. There was no way. There was no way in hell this would fit and no way that he was walking around like this. It was easily the length of her arm. Mind you, she was a petite little thing. Still, he was long, and his girth would certainly stretch and break her.
“I--I don’t know if I can--”
“You will,” he told her. “You’ll be good for Daddy and it will fit. It always does.”
Hermione swooned and nodded. He stepped out of the pants and kicked them away. He pulled his shirt off, leaving him bare to her. He was fit and ate healthy and it showed.
“Put your hair up, baby.”
Using one of the hair ties on her wrist, she did so quickly.
He grabbed her ponytail and told her, “Open wide. Use your lips to cover your teeth. If you can’t breathe, that’s too damn bad.”
Her mouth filled with his too-large dick and she felt her jaw ache within a few moments.
“Use your hands to stroke what you can’t fit. Suck and use your tongue to play with the head.”
Hermione, ever the diligent student, tried her best to meet his expectations.
His groans and the way he looked at her like he wanted to eat her alive, made her pussy clench and get even wetter.
“Good girl. No teeth and you listened so well. You’re such a good girl.” He pulled her back and watched a trail of spit linking her to the head of his cock. “I want you on the bed,” he told her, gently helping her up from the floor. Hermione laid back and before she could think, he pulled her ass to the edge and pushed her legs back.
“No, Daddy. I want you inside.”
He smacked her pussy, causing her to cry out. “Do I look like I am asking for suggestions? If I want them, I will ask. You told me to teach you. I am. We need to pick a safe word so you can tap out if you want.”
His strict demeanor made it hard for her to concentrate.
“Hermione, pick a word,” Severus told her, and rubbed her inner thigh.
She finally said, “Dumbledore.”
“You picked the President of the university?”
She nodded. “I don’t think I’ll ever scream out his name during sex… normally.”
“Fair. Now, I want you to understand something.” She looked at him expectantly. “Any man who wants you to perform oral sex on him should be willing to reciprocate if that is something you enjoy.”
“Okay. Oh my god!” Her godfather sucked hard on her already hyper-sensitive clit.
His fingers waded through the wetness of her cunt and discovered her G-spot. She could only get it if she used a toy, which she didn’t do very often. The double pleasure of G-spot stimulation and an already swollen clit, had her screaming. Hermione swore she could feel him smiling as he licked, sucked, and fucked her. “Daddy, please! I want more. Please.”
He ignored her, continuing to play with her clit with the tip of his tongue.
He pumped his dick simultaneously, to the same pace as the fingers inside her.
“Sev, please. Severus!” she cried out, pussy squeezing around his fingers and coming hard.
“Hermione, good girls don’t call their daddies by their names.”
Catching her breath, she told him, “I’m sorry, Daddy.”
“Don’t let it happen again.”
Hermione grinned to herself. He just admitted that he wanted this to happen again. “Yes, Daddy.”
“We’ll only do missionary tonight. Something tells me you will be very sore in the morning.”
“Daddy, I hope so.”
Severus told her to wait, left the room, and returned with condoms. Gently, he took her hand and demonstrated how to put it on properly. “Always use protection until you are in a committed relationship and on birth control,” Severus said, using the tip of his dick to gather some of her wetness. She gasped when he swiped past her clit a few times.
“Am I a good girl?”
Severus broke character and told her, “You are a very good girl. You ready?”
It was finally happening, and it was the right guy at the right time.
“Yes. Yes, I’m ready, Daddy.”
Severus could only get two inches in before she told him to stop.
“Breathe,” he told her.
She nodded and smiled. “It’s so big. How am I supposed to do this?”
“Keep breathing and relax.”
She gestured for him to continue pushing into her petite body. Hermione swore he was splitting her in half.
“Halfway there, baby.”
Halfway?! Hermione looked into his eyes, imploring him to let her touch her clit. “Can I touch, Daddy?”
“Yes, baby.”
Rubbing her clit helped immensely. The more she touched herself, the wetter she got. Severus eventually hit a barrier deep inside and she winced.
“That’s your cervix. I’ll try not to hit it again.”
“Okay,” she breathed.
“How are you?”
“Good,” she laughed. “I did it.”
He smiled. “You did. You took most of me.”
“Most? There’s more?” she asked, surprised.
Severus began pulling out and she moaned. The ridges of his cock moved past her sensitive walls, causing her to clench around him.
“Fuck, baby,” he groaned. “This is really important. Do you want me to go slow or go fast? Speak up for yourself, okay?”
“I want it fast, Daddy. I’m used to your size now. Fuck me, okay?”
Severus took her hand and placed it near her entrance. “You can stop me from going too deep. If you want me to go deeper, just let me go.”
He started slowly by pushing into her tight heat but quickly increasing the speed of his thrusts. Hermione couldn’t believe was she was seeing. Severus was fucking her deep and it felt amazing. Every fantasy she had ever had about him-- and there were many-- could not compare to the real thing.
“Look, Daddy. I can see you moving inside me.” Her flat stomach bulged when he thrust inside her. Severus put his hand over the space and felt it for himself.
“That’s so hot,” he told her. “You’re going to kill me.”
“I am,” she agreed. “If--you-- fuck-- me hard enough, I’ll squirt.”
He lost his rhythm, fucking into her like a man possessed. Severus grabbed her waist and pulled her closer so he could hit a different angle.
“Yes, Daddy! That’s it!” she shouted, playing with her clit, removing the barrier. He hit her cervix head-on on and she screamed, pushing him away with her hands and showering him with her cum.
“Severus!” He came at the sound of his name leaving her mouth, desperate and wanton.
There was no other sound than their heavy breathing. Severus silently removed the condom, ensuring that it hadn’t broken. In the bathroom, he threw it away and grabbed a washcloth.
“Hermione? Baby?” he said softly. The girl appeared to have passed out. He cleaned her face first, wiping it clean of their combined sweat. Her eyes fluttered open and she said, “Hi.”
“Hi,” he chuckled. “God, you’re adorable after you come. You and your partner should always perform aftercare if needed.”
“Mhmm… That was perfect. What time is it?”
Severus turned over to look at the alarm clock on the bedside table. “2:16 AM.”
“Nice.”
“What?” he asked curiously.
“It took less than twenty-four hours to seduce you.”
“Seduce me?”
Hermione nodded. “I like you. You’re the guy I was talking about.”
“Why me?”
“I have some theories.”
“Do you?”
“Yes. But, the most obvious one is that you’re wonderful. I can always depend on you and you always do right by me. You’re handsome and brilliant. How could I not fall for you?”
Severus caressed the side of her face and leaned down to kiss her sweetly.
“I thought you said no kissing,” Hermione spoke into the space in between them. “To avoid a broken heart.”
He kissed her again. “My gorgeous, lovely, perfect girl…If there’s anyone in danger of getting their heart broken, it’s me.”
Chapter 4: The Misconduct Meeting
Summary:
A fellow faculty member expresses concerns regarding Professor Snape's behavior with one of his students.
Chapter Text
Hermione waited fifteen minutes after his lecture to follow Severus to his office. Severus assured her that no one would think twice about her coming to visit him. It had been almost four years of visits and they were completely innocent. Hermione and Harri’s photo sat on his desk. They had just turned eighteen and were blowing out their candles. Hermione remembered that day distinctly because Severus had given her the silver necklace she still wore around her neck. She received an otter and Harri, an owl. Severus always gave the best presents. Last night, he gave her a tennis bracelet for getting accepted into a graduate program in his department. When she asked him how he knew she would get in, he told her the same way he knew the sun would rise tomorrow. Some things just made sense.
As she walked through the administrative hall, faculty members smiled politely as she passed them. Professor Trixie Lestrange, who was the only professor to give Hermione a C on her transcript, eyed her unpleasantly. Feeling the woman’s glare on her back, Hermione hurriedly knocked on her godfather’s office door.
“One moment,” she heard him say. There was another voice-- higher and feminine. For just a moment, Hermione felt a spike of jealousy. When Severus opened the door with a wide smile, she smiled back, all negative feelings leaving her.
“Ginny?” she asked, stepping into the room.
“Hey, Hermione. Haven’t seen you in a while.”
“Yeah… What’s going on?”
Severus cleared his throat and said, “We were discussing Ginny’s latest lab report.”
“I didn’t know you were taking any chemistry classes this semester.”
Ginny sighed, looking desperate. “I need to pass this last Orgo class or medical school won’t happen. I miss studying with you. Why don’t you live at the dorms anymore?”
Hermione tried to control the blush running across her face. She couldn’t tell Ginny that she preferred to wake up in their professor’s arms. Morning sex was amazing and he always made her tea just right.
“I just like staying with my godfather. His place is quiet and I can get so much done. His kitchen is great too.”
“She likes using my laundry room,” Severus chuckled. “No need to lie. That’s what she really wants.”
“Oh okay,” Ginny replied forlornly. “How did you do in this class?”
“Alright,” Hermione told her. “I can help you if you need it.”
“Oh my god! I need it so much. No offense, Professor, but I hate this class.”
Severus laughed, taking a seat behind his desk. “Organic Chemistry isn’t for everybody.”
“You got that right,” Ginny said. “I’ll text you, Hermione. Maybe we can meet at the dorm or the library?”
“Sure,” Hermione told her, nodding and taking off her light jacket. It was warmer today so she felt comfortable walking through the campus wearing a little less.
With that, Ginny grabbed her backpack and waved goodbye. The door to the office clicked shut and Hermione turned the lock. She dropped her book bag on the floor and stepped into the space between his thighs.
“Hello, baby girl,” he said lowly and placed his hands on her hips. Hermione was wearing those sinful leggings that he loved so much.
“Hi, Daddy,” she replied just as quietly. “How long until your next class?”
“One hour.”
She grinned and slid to the floor. “That’s more than enough time.”
“We cannot do this here,” he told her unconvincingly. “What if someone comes in?”
“I locked the door.”
“Someone could be listening at the door.”
Hermione considered this. It was true because she could hear Ginny’s voice, muffled, but still.
“Fine,” she told him.
Severus helped her up and brought her into his lap. They kissed languidly for a few minutes before there was a rapid tapping on the door.
“One moment,” Severus said quickly. Hermione reluctantly left his lap and moved to sit on the sofa next to her discarded bag. Severus opened the door to see Professor Lestrange and the head of the department, Dr. McGonagall.
“Professor, I need to speak with you immediately,” McGonagall told him. She looked to see Hermione lounging on the sofa. “In my office.”
Lestrange looked victorious for some reason. The three left Hermione in his office with nothing to do but study. Her anxiety would not allow it. Hermione couldn’t wait for Severus to get back.
Severus never came back before the start of Hermione’s next class so she had to leave. She texted him during class but he never responded. She returned to his office to find the door locked and the lights off.
“He went home early,” a voice said from behind her. It was McGonagall.
“Oh,” Hermione said, surprised. “Thank you.”
“You two must be very close.”
Hermione’s heart stopped.
“He’s so proud of you. I did not know he was your godfather.”
“Oh!” Hermione chuckled, uneasily. “Yes. He and my mother are best friends.”
The older professor said, “It is always nice to have family support.”
Hermione felt uncomfortable with her vocabulary but the woman was being kind. “He’s a great person to have in your life. He’s always making sure I’m alright. My mother begged him too but he would have done it anyway.”
“That’s lovely. Get home safe. It’s pretty dark now. I cannot wait for spring. These long nights are so depressing.”
Hermione nodded. “Same to you, Ma’am.”
Leaving the building, Hermione checked her messages and saw a missed call from Severus. She called back, hugging herself as the temperature dropped.
“Hey,” she said when he picked up.
“Hey. Are you coming back anytime soon?”
“Yes,” Hermione answered. “I’ll catch the shuttle. What happened?”
“I need to tell you in person.” He sounded so far away and miserable.
“Okay. I’ll be home soon.”
Severus was standing in the kitchen, microwaving leftovers from the previous evening. Hermione noticed that he hadn’t changed into his sweats like he normally did after coming home.
“Why are you still wearing your work clothes?”
He looked down and said, “I didn’t realize. I’m completely out of it.” Taking the steaming hot food out of the microwave, he almost dropped it.
“Sev? Go sit down,” Hermione told him kindly. “I’ll get this for you.” He didn’t protest and sat at the breakfast table near the window. Hermione used an oven mitt to handle the hot plate and poured him a glass of his favorite juice.
“Be careful, please.”
He smiled weakly at her and she pressed a kiss to his nose first and then his lips. Hermione joined him at the table and proceeded carefully. “Are you alright?”
He shook his head.
“What happened?”
“McGonagall received a complaint of misconduct. Someone claimed that I was inappropriate with my students. My female students.”
Hermione gasped, already feeling guilty. “Do you know who made the complaint?”
He sighed and said, “Lestrange’s daughter, a senior in my CHEM427 class, complained to her.”
Hermione knew everyone in that class because by senior year many students had switched majors, deciding that this one was too hard. The classes were small.
“Wait… Delphine? Is that her daughter?”
“Yes, that’s her. She has her father’s last name.”
“They’ve kept that well hidden. What evidence does she even have? We’ve only been together for a few weeks and we don’t do anything on campus.”
“She says you spend too much time in my office and I show clear favoritism.”
Hermione watched him for a moment before telling him, “I spoke to McGonagall right before I called you. She said you must be very proud of me.”
Severus put down his fork and rubbed his temples. “I hated it. Why should I have to defend my relationship with you because her daughter can barely pass with a C? The girl struggled through every class and I’m sure she’s only in the major because of her mother.”
“She hates it when I show up at study group. Everyone else begged me to stay but I didn’t want to make trouble. What did you say?”
“I told them you are my goddaughter.”
“That’s true.”
“I helped raise you.”
Hermione could see the anguish on his face. “I had to tell them that you’re like a daughter to me. You’re not. At least, not anymore. The whole conversation made me sick. I could hear myself tell them how I was a parental figure in your life and I remember the things we do and what we almost did this morning and in my office.”
“You’re not my father. What we do is between us. Listen, after this semester, you will have nothing to hide. If anything, our relationship as godparent and child, dissolved itself. I’m not a little girl anymore. Mom doesn’t need you to pick me up from school when I’m sick like you used to or buy me and Harri popsicles from the ice cream truck. You still take care of me like a lover, not a father. You know I love you.”
“I love you too. I always have and that might be the problem.”
“Don’t let that woman destroy this. We’ve loved each other one way and now we love each other even more.”
“I’m not thinking about her. I’m thinking that I am a predator.”
“When did you develop feelings for me?”
He laughed quietly. “The night you seduce me.”
“Okay.” Hermione stood and said, “Look at me.”
Severus watched her undress quickly until she stood there in her bra and panties.
“What do you see?”
“You.”
“Be specific.”
“You are naked?” he guessed. “This isn’t helping. I’m not in the mood.”
“Neither am I. Look at me. Do you see a girl or a woman?”
“You’re a woman.”
“And what do you see? You know what I see in the mirror? Wide hips. I didn’t have them in high school. I see double D breasts which grew sometime last year and I see my tapered waist. I now reach your shoulders which didn’t happen until I started college. You are not a predator. You’re attracted to me now, not then. I am a grown woman and I make my own choices. I choose you, Sev. You didn’t force me or take advantage of me. Do you choose me, a woman?”
“I choose you,” he said. “I love you and I choose you. You want to be with an old man?”
“Hush. I want to be with you,” she said putting her clothes back on. “Don’t let that bitch say you are trading grades for sex. Her daughter is just not cut out for this and Lestrange needs to accept it. Using me as their scapegoat was silly. Many of your colleagues know our connection.”
“Many of them have taught you. They know you earn every grade.”
“Exactly. McGonagall was just doing her job. You aren’t a pervert. You are just an educator who has high standards. Some parents cannot accept that their child isn’t perfect and need an excuse.”
Severus rose from his chair and pulled Hermione to him. “Thank you.”
“Are you alright?” she looked up to meet his eyes. He was taller and sometimes she had to bend to see him when they were this close.
“I will be.”
Hermione loosened their embrace and said, “I’ll take it. I need to eat so I can start studying.”
“What are you studying for?”
Hermione giggled. “Your test. The midterm is tomorrow.”
“But, I want to cuddle with you,” he whined, pulling her back to him. “You’ll pass. I’ll make sure of it.”
“So, are you trading grades for cuddles?”
Kissing her, Severus used his hands to caress her backside and hips. Hermione pulled back with a weak moan. “I have to study, Daddy,” she pouted, but happy to see him back to normal.
He sighed. “Okay, Baby.”
Hermione ate, studied for a few hours, and climbed into bed around midnight. Although she believed he was fast asleep, she soon felt his body encapsulate hers.
Chapter 5: The Visitor
Summary:
Hermione’s sister pays a visit. Will she be able to stay out of her godfather’s room and keep their relationship secret?
Chapter Text
They drove an hour away to eat out and enjoy a well-earned date night. Hermione was stressing about midterms and getting accepted into the university’s prestigious graduate program. Many previous graduates went on to work for the federal government or private sector companies in high-ranking positions. After growing up lower-middle class, the idea of being able to afford the basics and have some fun on one income was a dream. They went to Hermione’s favorite Italian restaurant praying that no one who knew them spotted them on a romantic date.
Looking around the almost empty restaurant on a Wednesday night, Hermione told him, “Mom is expecting me home for spring break.”
“Did you want to go? I’ll drive you.”
“Not really. There’s nothing to do and Harri will probably just flaunt her latest acquisition in front of me.”
“Sounds awkward,” Severus commented with slight derision.
“Don’t get jealous. You’re the only one I want. I have wanted you for some time now. I have you and I’m not letting you go.” She was laughing and joking but she also wasn’t.
“Glad to hear it. I wanted to ask you about graduate school. What exactly will you be studying? Have you decided?”
“Yes. I was thinking of biochemistry or biopharmaceuticals. Why?”
He shifted in his chair and ran his fingers through his hair. He was wearing his glasses because, according to him, he was old and needed them to drive. Hermione told him they made him hot and she would need him to wear them when they role-played.
“I wanted to know if you would be one of my students again. I will be teaching a graduate-level course in the fall semester.”
“I guess I could be. Is that a problem?”
“I was just thinking that after everything that happened with Lestrange... It would be good if we put some distance between us on campus.”
“Well, I can pull up the required courses and we can check.”
“Hermione. I didn’t mean that. Don’t even look it up. I’m not going to ask you to change your entire future for my sake. If we end up together again, we’ll figure it out.”
“You’re sure?” she asked him, pulling out her phone. “I was looking toward pharmaceuticals anyway. I like to think of myself as a witch brewing a potion.”
Severus chuckled. “Whatever gets you through the day.”
“You don’t teach anything concerning pharmaceuticals so it may just work itself out.”
Their plates were cleared away and it was time to return home.
“I’m teaching during the summer semester so I’ll be staying in town.”
“Perfect because I just got a summer camp job. I was going to ask you if I could stay in the apartment this summer.”
“So we’ll be together?” Severus asked with a smile.
“See,” she grinned. “Some things just work out.”
Hermione’s phone rang with Harri’s bright green eyes staring back at her.
“Your picture is so creepy!” Hermione giggled.
Harri laughed too. “It’s the update! I’ll change it later. Anyway, Mom said you’re not coming home next week.”
“Yeah. I decided to stay.”
“Are you still staying with Sev?”
“Yes,” Hermione said, as the man rubbed the inside of her thigh with one hand and controlled the steering wheel with the other.
“Can I please come and visit? I miss you and I’m beyond bored. I want to see your school. For real this time. You owe me a tour before you graduate.”
“Hold on.”
Hermione muted herself and asked Severus, “What do you think?”
“It’s up to you. You know she’s welcome whenever.”
Hermione unmuted and said, “What day can you make it down?”
“Friday!”
“Okay. See you Friday. Love you.”
“Love you too. Give Sev a hug for me.”
The call dropped and Severus laughed.
“What?” Hermione asked, distracted.
“You’ll give me more than a hug.”
“Shut up, Sev.”
Harri was all bouncing black curls and tanned skin. “Hi, Sis!” she said when Hermione opened the door to Severus’ apartment. With a quick hug and kiss, Hermione realized just how much she missed her sister. Their bond was different than the average sibling set. They did everything together as kids.
Closing the door, Hermione welcomed her to the apartment she had only visited once, almost four years ago when they were moving Hermione into a dorm for the first time. “Where’s Severus?” Harri asked.
“He’s still on campus. A late class is finishing up their midterm today.”
Hermione took Harri’s duffle bag and led her to the guestroom.
“Is this where you sleep?”
Hermione lied and said, “Yeah. I cleaned it up for you. There’s also a pull-out bed on the sofa if we want to stay up late and watch movies. The TV in there is much bigger.”
“Sweet... This place is nice. I bet it is better than the dorms.”
“A million times better.”
“Why did you even live on campus? Sev has lived here for years, right?”
“It was expected,” Hermione explained. “If my roommate wasn’t constantly fucking her boyfriend at all hours, I would still be on campus. I’m happier here anyway.” What Hermione failed to mention was that she was happier because she was fucking her own boyfriend at all hours too.
“We were thinking of going out for dinner but do you want a snack first?”
Harri and Hermione munched on hummus and pita chips, chatting about Harri’s post-graduation plans, the friends Hermione left back home, and their mother’s neverending work schedule.
They returned from their night out around 9:30 and Severus told them he would see them in the morning. They could have the apartment to do “girl things”. He and Hermione decided that Hermione would sleep in the same room as her sister. Harri would find it strange if she didn’t considering how often they shared beds even when their mom bought their house and they no longer needed to.
Harri and Hermione decided to go straight to bed after brushing their teeth. Hermione was already falling asleep when Harri said, “I have a boyfriend.”
Hermione’s eyes shot open. Harri didn’t have boyfriends. She had boy toys, escorts, hookups, and fuckbuddies. “A boyfriend? Like a real-life, ‘I updated my social media’ boyfriend?”
Harri replied with a smile. “Remember that guy who you caught me with?”
“The rich one?”
“Yeah. Drake.”
“He’s hot.”
“I know!” Harri giggled. “And guess what, Mione?”
“Yeah?”
“He wants us to move in together.”
“No!” Hermione said, shocked. “How long have you been... friends?”
“We’ve been having sex, Hermione, for more than two years. We just made it official two weeks ago but he’s been monogamous with me for a few months. He says he didn’t want to lose me to anyone else.”
“Oh my god,” Hermione swooned. “Do you think you love him?”
“I might,” Harri admitted. “What do you think about moving in with him?”
“Where would you live?”
“His penthouse.”
“He already lives there?”
“It’s his dad’s place really. It’s in the center of the city. It’s so close to Holy Lady. I’ll be dead on my feet as a new nurse and it would be good to live near work.”
“True. What does he do?”
“He is pre-law. He’s going to join his father’s firm when he’s done.”
Hermione hummed, impressed. “I didn’t think that pale ass cheek I saw was so intelligent.”
Harri punched her hard. “His ass is perfect, thank you!”
“Oww!” Hermione whined. “Okay! Your boyfriend has a perfect ass. It sounds like your mind is made up. You’ve got it sorted out. Will you have to pay rent?”
“No. He says I won’t have to pay for anything!”
“Harri...” Hermione groaned. “Nothing is free.”
“It is when your boyfriend has a trust fund and his parents own a private jet.”
Hermione’s mouth dropped. “Let him know that you have a sister who needs to be adopted.”
Harri giggled and sighed.
“What does Mom think?”
“She’s not against it,” Harri told her. “But, she’s not for it either. She’s been acting weird.”
“How weird?”
“Like she quit one of her jobs. She’s been getting her nails done regularly. And she’s talking to someone on the phone every night.”
“Who?”
Harri shrugged. “I don’t know. Mione, what do you think?”
Hermione laughed. “Mom has a sugar daddy.”
“Oh my god!” Harri cackled. “I hope so. She deserves to be happy.”
“Agreed.”
After Harri roused her from near slumber, Hermione could not go back to sleep. Harri also snored and slept like the dead. Around 2 in the morning, Hermione climbed out of the guest bed and went straight into her and Severus’.
“Hermione?” she heard him mumble.
“Shhh,” Hermione told him. “Go back to sleep.”
“I can’t,” he groaned.
“I’m sorry,” Hermione said. “I can leave. I’ll go sleep in the living room.”
Severus grabbed her arm gently and said, “Stay.”
“Alright,” she whispered.
“Missed you,” he said quietly. “It took me a while to fall asleep.”
“I couldn’t sleep without you either. It’s only been a month and it is like--”
“A lifetime.”
“Yeah,” she agreed. She faced him and rested her cheek on her pillow. Severus caressed her face as she looked into his eyes. The light from outside formed shadows on the walls. The world was quiet. “Harri’s got a boyfriend,” Hermione told him. “She’s excited and couldn’t wait to tell me.”
“That’s nice for her. I’m happy for her,” he said, voice low.
“I’m jealous. She can tell the world she’s in love and share it with the people who matter. I’m proud to be with you and can’t tell anyone.”
“I feel the same way.”
“What do we do?”
“What are we afraid of if people know? I could lose my job. You are my student.”
“Mom would be so angry.”
“People would judge you.”
“People would judge you too.”
Severus brought his lips to hers and ran his hand from her waist to her hip. “We can worry about other people later and just focus on each other.”
“I like that,” Hermione said before returning the kiss. Her hand wandered just like his and found his waistband. His hand slid to her breasts causing her to whimper quietly.
“You’ll have to be quiet, baby.”
“Yes, Daddy,” she whispered.
The next morning, Harri called out into the apartment for Hermione. Severus was still asleep and she wanted him to rest, especially after last night. Opening the door slowly, Hermione found her sister staring at her in the hallway.
“Oh hey,” Harri said and yawned. “I’m starving. Can we make pancakes?”
“Sure,” Hermione said, happy that her sister had a one-track mind regarding food.
“What were you doing in Sev’s room?”
Damn.
“I was going to shower in his bathroom so I wouldn’t wake you.”
“But you’re still in your pajamas.”
“I left my shampoo in here. I can’t risk using his.”
Harri threw her own curls over her shoulder and nodded. “I get it. Dad’s genes are so strong in us. So… Pancakes?”
“I guess I can shower after breakfast.”
“That’s what I always say,” Harri giggled and followed Hermione into the kitchen. It would be a difficult week trying to stay out of Sev’s bed but having Harri around made Hermione happy. It was just a week.
Chapter 6: The Valedictorian
Summary:
There's an unexpected and uninvited relative visiting for Hermione's graduation. Later, Hermione encounters a pleasant young man.
Chapter Text
The day before graduation Hermione spent the morning in bed, riding Severus like a stallion. After she left him in bed, amazed and drained, she cleaned up the apartment and went to get her hair and nails done because the next day she would be on stage in front of a thousand people. She had a speech to give. Hermione practiced it frequently and asked Severus for his opinion and all he said was, “It’s already perfect.”
“Something is missing,” she would whine.
“You have to calm down and enjoy the day. I’m so proud of you.”
Hermione blushed when he said things like that, in and out of bed. “Okay.”
“By the way, your mother texted me that they will be here around five. Traffic is crazy on the interstate. Bad accident.”
“They’re staying with us?” Hermione verified. “Do they have to?”
“We’ve been through this. Yes, because I had no good excuses.”
“We have no room.”
“They know that I have a guest room and a pull-out sofa. Harri was just here.”
James Potter had the nerve to show up for her graduation uninvited. “Hey, honey! Come give your dad a hug.”
The fucker was pretending like Hermione or Harri ever called him dad. The girls were barely speaking in full sentences when he left. When he first appeared at the door, Hermione didn’t recognize him. It was strange, like a male version of Harri with Hermione’s eyes instead of her normal bright green.
“What the hell are you doing here?” Hermione asked angrily. Everything that went wrong in her childhood was directly attributed to him and his selfishness. He never followed through on promises and he broke their mother’s heart.
“Hermione…” Lily implored. “Be nice.”
“Why should I?”
Lily answered with a pleading tone, “He’s your father.”
“Says who? Also, who says he can stay here?”
Harri stepped in and made her way into the apartment. “Mione, can we talk in your room?”
Severus kissed Lily’s cheek then and shook James’ hand. “Welcome.”
“Thanks. Appreciate it.” James responded, taking his hand.
In the guest room, Harri closed the door for privacy and faced an angry Hermione.
“You have got to chill.”
“No. That motherfucker can’t just show up at one of the most important days in my life.”
“I know. I don’t like it either. I don’t want him at my graduation next week but he will be there.”
“Why? Why can’t we get rid of him?”
“Mom is so happy since they’ve been together.”
“He abandoned her with two toddlers! She was still a teenager!”
Harri winced. “She’s forgiven him.”
“He abandoned us!”
“I know.”
“Harri, it hurts. Why did everyone else’s dad love them and ours didn’t? We missed out on so much.”
“Well, Sev was there for us,” Harri reminded her.
“He shouldn’t have had to do that job.”
“I think so too,” Harri said. “Try to get through the next few days.”
“I don’t know if he can stay here. As angry as I am, Sev is even worse. He was there for all of it.”
“He’s been pretty nice so far.”
“I’m telling you. This will not end well.”
Lily Evans-Granger was not an unattractive woman. When she had a chance to care for herself she was beautiful. Shoulder-length red hair and bright green eyes made her a striking picture. James Potter was annoyingly good-looking at forty. They were a handsome couple and that pissed off Hermione even more. She glared at them until Harri kicked her under the table. Discreetly, Hermione texted her: We better not get any little siblings from this.
Harri laughed out loud and the whole table looked at her. “Sorry,” she blushed. “Drake sent me a funny text.”
They were out to dinner and James insisted on paying for everyone. Severus diplomatically offered to cover the dinner after the graduation ceremony the next day.
“Don’t worry about it,” James told him. “These are my girls and I wouldn’t ask you to come out of pocket for them.”
“It’s not a problem. Really, I have watched them both grow up. It will be an honor.”
James put down his glass harshly. “They’re my kids. I will pay for these things. You work for your money, right, Sevy? My money grows on its own.”
Hermione and Harri looked at each other and Hermione mouthed, “I told you.”
“Dad, stop.” Harri was seldom serious so when she was, the mood changed.
“Yes,” Lily said, “Stop this.”
“No,” James chuckled obnoxiously. “He wants to act like he’s head of the family. He needs to get his own. Could he even afford it?”
“What exactly do you do?” asked Hermione.
“I manage the family business.”
“Which is?” she pushed.
“Investment banking.”
“So you’re a rich jerk who works for his Dad?”
“Actually, your grandfather just retired. Just bought an island in the Bahamas,” James bragged, missing Hermione’s insult. “Sevy, you’ll never get to my level. So stop pretending like you can take care of my family.”
Severus wasn’t interested in keeping the peace any longer. “I am not pretending. When you were off doing whatever you wanted, I was babysitting these two when Lily worked two jobs to pay rent. Her parents wouldn’t let her come back after you deserted her and your children. I paid for daycare. Summer camps, tutors, and driving lessons-- I did that. When Harri broke her leg and Lily was between jobs, I paid that bill. Hermione needed her wisdom teeth removed-- that was me. Both prom dresses? Again me. Harri did competitive cheerleading. They had a trip to Canada and I made sure she went because she deserved it. Where was all your precious money when they both had double ear infections at three and Lily couldn’t go to work for almost two weeks and the rent was due? Why are you here now when the girls are grown up and successful?”
Harri was tearing up and Hermione was ahead of her, real tears flowing down her face. She didn’t know just how much he had done for them. He never mentioned any of it. She and Harri always talked about how their mother was a miracle worker. Things always got paid and no field trip, extracurricular activity, or birthday wish was denied.
James, without missing a beat, “You have a thing for Lils. You always have. Twenty years later and you still can’t get her. Move on, man.”
“After everything you heard, that’s all you have to say?” Severus glowered.
“Come on… Are you seeing anyone? Tell me you have a girlfriend and I’ll leave it alone.”
Hermione almost opened her mouth but thought twice. If she opened her mouth to tell off her father, she didn’t trust herself to not accidentally out them.
“See? He’s still in love with you, Lily. Pathetic bastard.”
“Stop!” Harri yelled. “Stop it! That’s enough.”
Severus said nothing more, thankfully, and sat back in his chair. Hermione could see him counting back in his head. He was mature and knew when to back off and that’s why Hermione loved him.
Clearing her throat awkwardly, Lily said, “We’ll be staying at a motel tonight, Sev. We’ll just get our bags from your place.”
Nodding, Severus said, “Good.” James grinned with a wink.
On the ride back home, Hermione said to Severus, “This is strange to ask but do you love my mom that way? I didn’t know you did all that stuff for us growing up.”
“You were never supposed to know. Your mother always felt like she could never do enough for you two and it was hard. A teen mother with twins? And then your grandparents completely shut her out. I will always do whatever I can to make sure a child feels loved and safe. I love your mother. But, no. I am not in love with her.”
“Do you see her like a sister?”
“No, not really. It’s hard to explain. I just love her. She’s my best friend. The best friend a person could ask for. You know that my family is not the best.”
Hermione said, “Yeah. You’ve mentioned something before.”
“Lily was the only one who noticed how bad it was. She let me sneak into her room through the window so my dad couldn’t get to me. Between the drinking and his inability to keep a fucking job, I was his stress relief. Lily took care of me. Anyway, I was a late bloomer which makes sense when you think about it. I didn’t explore that part of myself until I was in my junior year of college. We’re best friends and nothing else. She took care of me and when I could, I took care of her.”
“Wow. I really hate my sperm donor. He took something beautiful and turned it into drama and trash.”
“That’s what James Potter does best.”
“I have a secret. When I submitted the paperwork to verify my name for my degree, I didn’t put Hermione Potter.”
“What did you put?”
“Hermione Granger. It’s our actual grandmother’s last name-- not mom’s stepmother. Everyone says I look like her. I refused to put his name on something he never helped me get.”
“I understand that. I almost put Severus Prince on mine.”
“Why didn’t you?”
“I lost my nerve. You’re braver than me.”
“Maybe I’m just angrier.”
“Probably. Thinking of my father doesn’t make me angry. Not all the time. I mostly feel lost and afraid. Sometimes, I feel angry at my mother for letting it happen. It’s messed up because she was a victim too.”
They were silent for a moment and then Hermione said, “Thank you for everything.”
“It was all worth it. Every dime. You girls are proof.”
“I meant taking care of mom.”
Lily couldn’t stop gushing about her daughters, a scientist, and a nurse. Everyone expected her to fail as a mother. She wasn’t the brightest crayon in the box and was a little flighty as a young girl. But, not even her sister Petunia could look down on her today. Her children were gorgeous, well-educated, and happy.
Hermione was not happy. Her father was acting like he was here the entire time, bringing up stories from when they were toddlers. Harri focused on her boyfriend, who Hermione found out was really named Draco— which was pretentious as fuck, but who was she to talk. He was actually okay. He seemed easy-going and vaguely interesting.
Harri dragged Hermione to the garage where all the young people were playing games and getting drunk. One young man, dark-skinned and muscle-bound, sat next to her on a folding chair. She didn’t recognize him but smiled politely.
“Hey, I’m Blaise.”
“Hi. I’m Hermione.”
“Cool party. Congratulations.”
“Thanks,” said Hermione, focusing on the game of Uno in front of her. Blaise leaned over and told her, “Play this one. Trust me.” He winked at her and laughed. Putting down a red reverse card, the other players groaned and by the time Hermione got to her next turn, she had no cards left and won the game.
“How did you know I should play that one?”
“No one else had a red,” Blaise said while taking a sip of beer. “I saw all their hands when I came over here.”
She laughed. “You helped me cheat. Thanks.”
“My pleasure.”
Blaise was incredibly good-looking and clearly liked Hermione. This was perfect because, at family events where she and Severus were both invited, they had to pretend like they were not in love with each other. She flirted as intensely as he did which was unfair to him, she knew. It was all in good fun, right? He was Draco’s friend and lived three states away. She was not interested in long-distance relationships at all. She also was not interested in Blaise.
Heading into the house to retrieve her phone that she left charging in the kitchen, she ran into Blaise who was just coming out of the guest bathroom.
The hallway was compact so it was hard to pass without touching each other.
“Hey, can I ask you something?”
“Yeah,” she replied quietly. “What’s up?”
“I don’t know if it’s just me but I feel something between us. Like an insane amount of chemistry.”
“I guess,” Hermione smiled, finding this hilarious.
“You feel it too, right? Anyway, I was wondering if you would like to go out, maybe get something to eat?”
“Uh…” she said. “I’m seeing someone. Sorry. I’m flattered. If I wasn’t already with him, I would definitely say yes.” No, she wouldn’t but she didn’t want to crush his ego completely.
“Damn, really? Make sense though. You’re very beautiful. If things don’t work out, hit me up.’
She giggled girlishly and said, “Okay.”
Five minutes later, she saw a notification that Blaise was now following her. She only had 45 followers and she never posted. He would never hear from her but the situation made her laugh.
Her lover was in the backyard playing an intense game of Dominos with her Dominican neighbor. She watched him for a little while before bringing him his favorite soda. He barely said thank you and Hermione assumed that he was too focused on the game.
At sunset, Severus told her they needed to leave so they wouldn’t get home too late. He was starting the summer semester while Hermione was a counselor at a science camp for girls. It was the perfect way to earn some money without losing the entire summer before grad school. Some of her friends were taking trips and well-earned vacations. She and Harri had to work. Even with James back in their lives, they still lived simply and worked for everything.
“Harri says she’s starting at the hospital on Wednesday. She’s going to be a great nurse.”
“Mhmm,” Severus mumbled.
“Her boyfriend is nice. He spoils her and it's so cute. He wouldn’t let her get up for another soda.”
“Yup.”
Hermione muted the radio and said, “What is wrong?”
“Nothing.”
“Don’t lie to me. You’re mad at me.”
“Just let me drive. I hate driving at night.”
Hermione didn’t push him because they slept in the same bed. This wasn’t over.
Severus tapped her hand, rousing her awake. The darkness and gentle humming of the engine must have lulled her to sleep, especially after a long day. When they got inside, Severus’ long face reminded her of his attitude from earlier. Before he seemed combative. Now, he looked downtrodden.
“Are you going to tell me what’s wrong now? We had a good day. At least, I thought so.”
Severus walked away, into his room, so she followed.
“Sev, talk to me. This is giving me anxiety. Did I do something?”
“I don’t want to say the wrong thing so let me think.”
“Just say what you feel.”
Severus sat down on the edge of the bed, steepling his fingers and resting his chin at the tips, eyes closed. He took a calming breath and then said, “Do you want to explore other options? Do you want to date other men?”
“No! What? We talked about this. I want you .”
“You’re so young. You’ve only been with me and I just think you are missing out on experiences.”
“Cut the crap! If I want something, I'll get it. Do you hear me? That’s how I got you.”
She walked into the space between his legs, calming down and playing in his hair. “What happened?”
“I saw you with that young man-- the supermodel.”
“Who? Blaise? You saw me doing what with Blaise?”
“You were talking and laughing together, I saw him talking to you in the house. You looked so nice together.”
“Since when do you play matchmaker? Blaise is nice but do you know what I told him when he asked me out?” Severus shook his head. “I was seeing someone. And he looked so disappointed but I was happy. I could tell somebody I was dating someone and I was happy to be in that relationship.”
Severus hung his head, tired. “I’m turning forty this November.”
“I’m turning twenty-two in a few weeks. We’re all getting older. When you’re one hundred, I’ll be eighty-two. The age difference doesn’t really matter then.”
Severus chuckled and rested his head on her stomach, letting her continue to play in his hair. “I just want to make sure you’re happy, baby. Wanna take care of you.”
Speaking seductively and lifting his chin so their eyes could meet, she breathed, “Lay back, Daddy. Let me take care of you too.”
Chapter 7: The Discovery
Summary:
Hermione gives her Daddy a special present for Christmas, and he gives her one too. Harri comes over with an important update.
Chapter Text
Harri’s decision to spend their birthday in Dubai with Drake hurt a little, Hermione had to admit. Throughout their entire lives, Harri and Hermione always spent their birthday together. Having a July birthday made it so that the tradition continued through college. Now, she and Harri were grown-ups with their own lives. Harri spent their twenty-third birthday in the UAE, and Hermione spent it looking for a job now that she finished graduate school.
A call came in a little after nine in the morning from Harri. Answering the Facetime, Hermione heard, “Hey, Sis! Happy Birthday!”
“Happy Birthday! How is Dubai?”
“Hot. It’s so hot but beautiful! The shopping is amazing.”
“Oh, really? Did you get anything nice?”
Harri said, “Yes. Let me show you want Drake gave me.” The camera flipped to display Harri’s pale little hand and a massive diamond ring.
“Is that an engagement ring, Harri?!”
Harri’s face came back into view as she grinned. “He asked me a few minutes ago. I said yes, of course!”
“Holy shit! You’re getting married.”
“I am! I’m glad you’re awake. You were the first person I had to tell. Mom’s next, and then I’ll post to social media.”
“It’s gorgeous. Is this why he wanted to take you across all of creation to Dubai in July?”
Harri laughed. “Yeah. He said he was going to just take me away-- spur of the moment. But then he remembered, I’m a nurse and I can’t do that. This was the only time I could get approved for vacation. We can’t all work for our fathers.”
“Right,” Hermione agreed. “Congrats. You’ll be Harriet Jane Malfoy. Are you going to keep Potter or not?”
“I don’t know. Harri Potter just sounds right.”
“I know if I get married, I’m changing it. Anyway, so… who is the maid of honor?”
Harri pretended to think before she said, “I was thinking Olivia Wood.”
“That bitch! How could you even joke about that?”
Harri cackled. “I can’t believe you still hate her. We haven’t seen her since tenth grade!”
“Olivia Wood is a dirty, thieving liar, and she better not be invited.”
“Hermione, will you be my maid of honor?”
“I have to think about it.”
“Hermione!”
Hermione laughed then. “Of course. I love you. I’ll always be here for you. Drake better treat you right or else.”
“Or else what?”
“I’ll poison him and make it look like an overdose.”
“Wow. You’ve thought about it.”
“You have to be ready,” Hermione told her in a serious tone, then giggled. “I’m so happy for you. I can’t wait to see this ring in person. I know this is inappropriate to ask, but--”
“I don’t know how much he paid, but it could probably buy a house in the nicest neighborhood in our town. Trust me, I was thinking the same thing just now. See, our twin connection works across oceans and continents.”
“Yeah. You’re right.”
“I’ll text you later, okay? I have to call Mom. I hope Dad is with her so I can get it over with.”
“Ugh. Don’t bring him up. I’ll talk to you later.”
“Bye.”
That evening, when she and Severus took a stroll at dusk, they discussed Harri’s engagement. She showed him the pictures Herri posted on social media and sighed wistfully.
“What’s up?”
“I just wish we could be open now. I want to show you off. Hold your hand in public and tell everyone how happy I am with you.”
“You finished school. There’s no risk for me. This is your decision.”
“What about my mom? She’s your best friend. Aren’t you concerned that she’ll hate you for this?”
“I am, but I’m too in love with you to worry about it too much. If we’re serious, then she’ll have to accept it one day. You’re her daughter, and that’s forever. I’ve known Lily longer than you. She does forgive eventually.”
“Yeah. Look at her with Dad. He bought a brand-new house and she’s moving in with him. I still couldn’t believe it.”
“Why?” Severus asked her as they crossed the bridge behind the apartment building to go home.
“I can’t believe how much she trusts him. She says he’s grown up, but I don’t see it.”
“What’s crazy is that she’s right.”
“Unbelievable!”
“You should have seen him at eighteen or even twenty. What’s going to happen to the house?”
“Uh… that’s what I need to talk to you about.”
“Yeah?” Punching in the door code, Severus waited for the buzzer and pulled the door open for her.
“Mom says she wants me and Harri to share it, but Harri lives with Drake. Now that they’re engaged, she’s definitely not coming back. I’ll have the house to myself. I just have to pay the utilities. Dad paid off her mortgage.”
“That was kind of him. Almost makes up for the late or missing child support.”
Once inside the apartment, Hermione followed Severus into the kitchen. “And I got a job offer.” Hermione leaned on the counter and looked at him with a look of anxiety.
“I knew you would!” he said, smiling. “Did you even apply?”
“No. A recruiter contacted me.”
“That’s fantastic. Where is it?”
“About twenty minutes from Mom’s house.”
“So what’s the problem? You look so worried.”
Hermione explained, “I can’t live here anymore, and I’ll be two hours away. You have to stay here.”
“Okay, baby. We’ll make it work.”
“How can you be so okay with this? You aren’t going to miss me?”
Severus approached her and tugged on her arm so she could be embraced. “I miss you even when we are in the same apartment. You have an amazing opportunity. Are you going to give it up to live in a college town with me? There’s nothing here for you anymore. It’s time to go.”
“You’ll visit?” Hermione asked, pouting.
“Every Friday after classes, I’ll be heading your way. You’ll keep the light on for me?”
“I’ll give you a key.”
“Even better.”
The Friday before winter break was crisp and clear. It rarely snowed before February in this part of the country, and Severus was thankful. The drive to Hermione’s place was long, but they often talked the entire way. Sometimes it was updates on friends and family. Many times, they solved chemistry-related problems or discussed workplace drama. Hermione loved it because she felt adult and mature. She felt capable, especially when he used her suggestions to solve problems with colleagues or in the lab.
After stepping into the small townhouse, Severus was pulled into his girlfriend’s embrace. Even after a long day at the university or the pharmaceutical firm, they couldn’t keep their hands off each other. Since it was the holidays, everyone expected him to stay with Hermione since she had an entire house to herself. It didn’t make sense for him to drive up on Christmas Eve and leave the next day when he didn’t have work for a few weeks. Lily thought it was a smart idea. James had a different opinion, however. Luckily, everyone was learning to ignore him.
The morning of Christmas Eve, Severus was awoken by the feeling of something warm and wet around his dick. He was having a salacious dream where Hermione was begging him to keep going. Before he could reply, his eyes shot open.
“Hermione?” he groaned.
“Yes, Daddy?” she asked cheekily.
“Don’t stop, baby.”
Hermione used her tongue to trace the underside of his cock, following the throbbing vein like a trail on a map. Using both hands, she massaged his shaft and sucked on the head of his cock. When she deemed him ready, she pulled off and stood beside the bed, swaying back and forth innocently. Severus loved it when she did this. He typically slept nude, and last night was no different. He loved to make it easier for her.
“Merry Christmas,” Hermione smiled and bit her lip. Severus finally took in the outfit she donned. It was a dark green lingerie set with crimson red ribbons and lace everything.
Beaming, he said, “Is this my Christmas present?”
“Yes.”
“But it’s Christmas Eve,” Severus commented.
“We always get to open one gift on Christmas Eve. Unwrap me, Daddy.”
Severus didn’t need to be told twice. He left the bed and picked her up. Their lips met as her legs wrapped around his waist. He pushed her up against the bedroom wall and attacked her neck with his lips. She wiggled and tried to get his cock inside her.
“Not yet,” he told her. “I haven’t unwrapped my present yet.”
Hermione laughed, “Hurry up.”
Severus let her stand on her own and stepped back, taking in the whole picture. The first thing he did was pull the hair ribbon from her ponytail, unleashing her riotous curls. Next, he pulled the cups of the bra down to expose her nipples to cool air. Hermione tapped her thigh in nervous anticipation.
“Good girls let their Daddies open their presents. Are you a good girl?”
Hermione nodded and clenched her fists.
He sucked one nipple and slid his hand between her legs to find no fabric or lace. The panties were crotchless, so all he found was her wetness and a silicone string. She felt him push the toy deeper inside her and moaned.
“You little slut,” Severus murmured, switching breasts. He continued to finger fuck her, and she only got louder.
“Scream, baby. Can you scream for Daddy?”
“Yes!”
Dropping to his knees, Severus’s face came to the apex of her legs. He tapped the insides of her thighs, encouraging her to spread her legs a little wider. He grabbed her ass to hold her in place and ran his tongue through her slit. He did again and again until Hermione was dripping onto his tongue. Her hands caressed his hair, and she moaned into the room. She moaned, “Daddy!” when her clit was attacked with the tip of his tongue. With his fingers pushing her toy deeper into her pussy, Hermione screamed as she showered him in her cum. Severus made sure not to waste a drop.
He pulled her panties down and held them in his mouth. Next, he unclipped her brassiere from the front, letting her breast fall, heaving as she tried to recover from the intensity of the orgasm. He took the scrap of lace from his mouth and told her, “Open.”
Hermione obeyed, letting him gag her with her own juices.
“Now that you’re nice and wet, I want you to climb onto the bed, face down, ass up.”
As soon as her ass was high enough, he went silent. Hermione knew that he had finally spotted it.
“Baby, where’d you get this?”
“Online,” she replied, after spitting out the panties. “Do you like it? I got it just for you.”
“I love it,” he said, caressing the globes of her ass and the dark green butt plug. “And what’s in your pussy, baby?”
“These ball things. They make orgasms more intense. Is it okay that they’re inside me? My pussy belongs to you, Daddy, but I wanted to surprise you.”
Switching into his dominant role, Severus smacked her ass cheek hard. Hermione groaned and wiggled her ass for him to keep going. Ten more smacks and she was as red as one of the ornaments on the tree downstairs. “You’re right. Your pussy is mine, and I want to use it. This time, you aren’t to make any noise.” Hermione understood and put her panties back in her mouth. She stifled moans and gasps as he gently pulled the balls out of her cunt, one by one. Severus slowed down on the largest ball, letting it stretch her.
“Good girl,” he said, purposefully trying to make her pussy contract to his words. Hermione looked back at him and shook with excitement because he was finally lining himself up with her entrance.
“Remember to speak up if this is too much, okay?”
Hermione knew it was okay to speak and said, “Yes,” though it was muffled by the lace.
Severus held her still as he pushed his cock into her warmth and softness. She was still tight after her incredible orgasm just a few moments before. Hermione wanted to please her Daddy so much so she focused on breathing out whenever she wished to moan. This became increasingly difficult once he found a punishing pace. The feeling of the butt plug and Severus’ thick cock made Hermione feel so deliciously full.
He began smacking her ass intermittently and told her all the things that usually pushed her over the edge. He wanted her to come so hard, she slept until New Year’s.
“Daddy’s little girl wants me to play with her ass, now?”
She didn’t answer but bunched the sheets in her fists.
“I love this pussy. It’s the best I've ever had. You take cock so well, my perfect girl. Do you have any idea what you do to me, baby?”
She shook her head.
“You make Daddy so hard he can’t think.”
Severus slowed down, confusing Hermione because she was sure he was close to the edge.
“I have a present for you, too.” He reached into the bedside table and pulled out a wand. “Remember, you have to stay quiet.”
Hermione breathed with half-lidded eyes.
“Turn over and show me that pussy.”
As soon as she was on her back, Severus slid his cock back inside. She gasped and bit down.
“Good girl. No noise.”
Hermione heard the toy buzz to life and started shaking in anticipation. The first vibrations traveled up her spine and caused her eyes to cross. Severus wanted more and turned it up a level every thirty seconds. By the time he got to level five, Hermione’s cunt was tightening and gripping his cock hard. He fucked into her, having her hold the toy in place. She was getting wetter and wetter. Severus could see her breaking. He held himself steady, watching as Hermione focused on pressing the wand head precisely to the spot on her clit he knew very well. Her legs shook and her back arched. Severus pulled the lace from her mouth and told her, “Scream.”
A prolonged scream followed by her shout, “Daddy!”, left her lips as Severus fucked her through her orgasm and came just as loud.
Hermione left Severus in the shower and made her way downstairs to sort out some breakfast. If she were honest, they were probably going to order brunch because she didn’t have the strength to cook after this morning’s activities.
Once Hermione’s foot hit the last step, she screamed.
“That’s enough of that,” Harri said, smirking. “You’ve been screaming all morning. I didn’t think you were a screa, mer, but it’s always the quiet ones.”
“Harri, what the fuck? You scared the shit out of me.”
“I used my key. I didn’t realize you had company. Who is he? And when can I have a ride?”
Hermione blushed. “Harri, why are you here? I thought you were spending Christmas Eve with Drake’s family.”
“He cheated on me. The engagement’s off. Anyway, who’s upstairs? Don’t think I forgot.”
Hermione had so much to process. She needed to keep Severus from coming downstairs, and she heard the shower turn off above her. Harri’s engagement is off because he cheated on her?
“You just got engaged in July!”
“And he’s been fucking at least three women since.”
“How do you know?”
“They DM’ed me.”
“You cannot be serious.”
“I’ll show you.”
Hermione was getting distracted. “I’ll be right back. Stay here, Harri. He’s shy.”
“Aww. That’s cute,” Harri gushed.
Hermione caught Severus just in time. Shirtless, he was moving down the hall towards the stairs when he said, “What’s for breakfast? Want to order something?”
“Sure, but Harri’s here and I need you to--”
“Oh my fucking God! Sev?!”
Hermione’s world froze at the sound of her sister’s voice.
Harri’s green eyes opened wide along with her mouth. “Have you been…? With him? Hermione?!”
Hermione just blinked and stayed silent. All Severus said was, “I’m going to get dressed now.”
Chapter 8: The Lecture
Summary:
Harri cannot keep a secret for her fucking life.
Chapter Text
“Hermione? Hermione? Are you going to tell me what the hell is going on here?”
Harri’s questions came but Hermione had no answer. She had gone through several dress rehearsals for this specific moment but now, she was silent.
“Harri,” Severus said, wearing a t-shirt now. “I’ve ordered our normal order from our favorite diner. Stay for breakfast?”
Harri looked at him and Hermione, glancing back and forth. “You made her scream like that?”
Hermione snapped out of her stupor to punch her sister. “That’s out of order!”
“You’re calling me ‘out-of-order’?” Harri shot back, rubbing her arm. She punched her back saying, “You bitch!”
“Girls!” Severus said loudly. “Let’s go downstairs and discuss this like adults. You’re not twelve anymore.”
Hermione and Harri huffed and shuffled to the first floor.
At the breakfast table, Harri stared at her sister. When Severus placed a cup of tea in front of Hermione and kissed the top of her head, Harri’s mouth fell open. “This is surreal,” she voiced. “I knew something was going on but I didn’t think it was him and I didn’t think it was you.”
“What the hell are you talking about?” Hermione queried.
“Well, you’ve been extremely distracted for the past year but I figured it was grad school or maybe you got some dick in grad school. But, you would have told me when you lost your virginity so I was confused. Oh my god! Did you lose it to him?”
Hermione avoided her eyes and sipped on her tea.
“Oh my god!”
“Stop saying that.”
“What should I say when I find out that my sister’s been fucking our godfather? When did this start?”
Severus chimed in then. “The last semester of undergrad. When she moved into my place.”
“Oh. I was scared for a moment.”
Severus brought Harri a cup of coffee with one cream and two sugars.
“Thank you. What? I don’t get a kiss too?” she said cheekily.
Hermione rolled her eyes. “He’s mine. Get your own.”
“You were always bad at sharing,” Harri commented.
Hermione couldn’t help but smile. Harri joking around meant that she wasn’t upset or disgusted. “Do you have any real questions?”
“How does it work? You live here and he lives there?”
“I drive up every weekend,” Severus responded.
“That answers so many questions. Hermione is rarely available on the weekends. You’ve been keeping her busy.”
“Don’t be gross, Harri.”
“That’s a joke, right?”
Hermione pinched her this time.
“Ow! You bitch! I was joking. I’m in pain, remember? While you two were singing Christmas carols upstairs, my life has been falling apart.”
Severus made a gesture of confusion to Hermione, who explained, “Draco Malfoy cheated on her with several women.”
“And they’re all telling me about it!” Harri showed them her inbox.
Severus shook his head. “How can you be sure this is the truth? Isn’t he the heir to a massive fortune? I’m sure women are constantly trying to get his attention.”
“They sent screenshots of his messages to them and two of them have pictures.”
Hermione handed Harri her phone back and told her, “You are not married yet. You dodged a bullet, babe.”
“It still hurts,” Harri said, sounding small. “I love him, Hermione. Do you love Sev?”
Hermione looked at him and smiled. “I do.”
“Do you love her?” Harri asked him.
“I would die for her,” Severus replied easily. “I love her so much. So much that I cannot express it.”
Hermione’s whole face went red and she grinned while Harri swooned. “Lucky,” she said to Hermione.
“So you have no problem with me being with Sev?”
“No? It was surprising but you’ve been priming me for this for years. You told me you like older men. I didn’t think it would be him. I mean he’s like family… but he’s not. He’s mom’s best friend. What is she going to say?”
“I don’t know,” Hermione answered.
“Are you happy though?” Harri asked. “I know the sex is amazing. Nice vocal chords by the way. But, do you feel safe and loved? Do you trust him?”
Hermione nodded. “With my life. So you support this?”
“As long as you’re happy, I’m happy. Sev?”
“Yeah?”
“I will kill you if anything happens to my sister.”
“As you should.”
Harri smiled victoriously. “See? I support you.”
Hermione replied, “Thanks. You’re really important to me and I want to be able to tell you about the changes in my life. I hated keeping a secret from you.”
Harri sighed. “Speaking of secrets…”
“What’s going on?”
The doorbell rang then so Severus left them to answer the door and bring in the delivery.
When he returned, Harri was crying as Hermione held her up. “What did I miss?”
“She’s pregnant.”
“Oh,” Severus commented, unhelpfully.
“What are you going to do, Harri? You said the engagement is off. Does he know about the baby?”
“I told him when I confronted him. I left and drove straight here.”
“This has been on your mind and you’re just now telling me?”
“I was a little distracted by someone shouting the roof off the barn, Hermione!” Harri shot back.
“Shut up about that. Sit down. You need to eat. Are you supposed to drink coffee when you’re pregnant?”
Harri shrugged.
“You’re a nurse!”
“Forgot that chapter.”
“You’re insufferable.”
Severus chuckled, taking the food out of the bag and placing the platters on the breakfast table.
Hermione ignored him and asked, “Are you going to keep it?”
“Yeah,” Harri nodded. “It’s not little Lyra or Leo’s fault that their father is a cheating scumbag.”
“True. But, Harri, are you really going to leave him?”
Harri’s phone rang and it was Lily. Harri took the call into the living room, leaving Severus and Hermione alone.
“She’s a tornado,” Severus commented.
“She’s a cyclone,” Hermione corrected. “I love that woman though. She’s okay with us and I’m glad. If I have her support, I can do anything.”
“I’m happy too,” Severus told her, leaning to kiss her cheek from his seat at the table.
“You are going to have to stop doing things like that. Mom’s coming over,” Harri informed them.
“Why?” Hermione whined. She loved her Mom but Mom usually meant Dad too.
“She Facetimed me so she knows that I’ve been crying and then she saw the background and figured out that I’m here with you.”
“Damn it. When is she coming?” Hermione asked.
“She’ll be here in like fifteen minutes.”
Severus continued eating like normal and the sisters stared at him.
“What?”
“You cannot be here when she gets here,” Hermione implored.
“Why not? I was always supposed to be here. It’s not like they know about us and I have to hide somewhere. I always spend winter breaks in this house.”
“Oh yeah,” Hermione realized. “Harri, you cannot make any smart remarks.”
“Mom never gets my jokes,” Harri protested.
“But Dad does and he’ll do anything to antagonize Sev.”
“Sev could just make out with you and it’ll shut him up.”
“Or make him kill me,” Severus insisted. “James is an idiot but I would rather not fight the father of my girlfriend.”
“Fine,” Harri said. “I won’t say anything.”
Hermione knew her sister and it was going to be a long day. She could feel it.
James was putting on a show and Hermione feared her eyes might actually fall onto the floor from rolling them so often. He kept threatening to beat up Draco if he ever saw him. Hermione had the same thought honestly but when her father said, it sounded juvenile.
“Don’t worry, baby,” James told his daughter. “Your family is rich too. You don’t need him.”
Hermione shook her head. “As if that matters. She’s heartbroken.”
“I thought we were going to be so good for each other. Everyone said he was my prince. I don’t know what I’ll do. Mom, I’m having a baby.”
“What?!” Lily cried. “My baby is having a baby?”
Harri nodded and Lily engulfed her into a hug. “It’s the most amazing thing you’ll ever do,” Lily told her, wiping away tears. “You girls made everything worth it. You have to find a way to fix this relationship.”
“What?” Hermione interjected. “She has to fix it? He’s the one who’s cheating!”
“But, she’s pregnant,” Lily responded like it was the simplest thing in the world. “You don’t want to be a single parent.”
Severus pulled Hermione’s arm subtly to get her attention. He mouthed, “Don’t.”
That set her off.
“You cannot tell her to stay with an emotionally abusive dickhead!”
“Hermione, you’re so dramatic,” Lily told her. “Being a mother is hard. She’ll need support.”
“She has a family that loves her. I will help her.”
“The kid needs his father,” James added.
“Shut the fuck up!” Hermione shouted. “No one needed you. I hate you and I hate that you’re always around.”
“Don’t speak to him that way!” Lily shouted back.
“I will speak to him any way I want. I am a grown woman and the two of you,” Hermione started pointing to Harri and Lily, “need some serious therapy. You’re living with the man who destroyed you and didn’t look back. He left you for dead, Mom! And Harri, you marrying a version of our Dad. Drake is the same fucking way. A rich playboy with no respect for his partner. Both of you need to think about the men you’re with!”
Harri, now thoroughly chastised and seething, announced to the room, “You say I am marrying Dad? You’re fucking the man who raised us!”
For the second time that day, every clock stopped.
James was on his feet first. Hermione pushed him back. Lily attacked Severus with her nails. Harri sobbed as she realized the chaos she had unleashed.
Hermione couldn’t keep James away from Severus as she was too small and he was too prepared to beat him up.
“Dad!” Hermione screamed when her father punched Severus hard on his jaw. Severus gave him just as good as he got. James grabbed Severus’ shirt and held him up against the wall. “Sevy likes little girls, huh? Did you rape them? Were you grooming them all this time?”
“No!” Hermione said. “Harri, you did this. Say something.”
“Dad, he never touched us as kids,” Harri said. “Leave him alone. I never should have said anything!”
Severus pushed him off and got his own punch in. This time James fell to the floor. Severus followed him and continued the assault.
“Sev, stop!” Lily begged.
“He just called me a pedophile!”
James cried out with each punch and Hermione could see him starting to give up. “Sev, stop before he passes out! Please, baby. Stop!”
Severus pulled back and cradled his hand with bloody knuckles. “Lily, I love Hermione. I’m sorry this is the way you had to find out.”
“I want you to pack up your shit and get out of my house.”
“It’s my house,” Hermione told her. “And I want him here.”
“The title says Lily Evans. Not Hermione Potter.”
“If you kick him out, I will never speak to you again,” Hermione warned her.
Lily waved her off and stood above James, who was still on the floor. “I’m moving back to my house.”
James responded, weakly. “What? Why?”
“You just accused me of leaving my daughters with a predator for their entire lives. Where were you to help me protect them? I did my best to protect them without your help. Hermione was right. You have no respect for me. You treat me like an idiot. You say things that are demeaning and you think I don’t understand. I barely finished high school and you got to finish business school so I’m stupid, right? I’d rather be respected in my poverty than disrespected in your mansion. Get out of my house.”
James stumbled to his feet and opened his mouth to protest.
“Get out!”
“I’ll call you.”
“Don’t bother. You’re blocked.”
Severus and Hermione stood watching the scene unfold as Harri sat wide-eyed on the couch.
“Severus, didn’t I tell you to get out?”
“You did.”
Lily glared at him but he made no movement. Finally, she said, “Tell me this didn’t start when she was little.” Her voice wavered and she sounded on the verge of tears.
“No,” Severus answered quickly. “She was twenty-one.”
“Why?” Lily asked. “Of all the women in the world, why her?”
Hermione said quietly. “I started it, Mom. I had a crush on him and things just kinda escalated.”
“That’s why you lived with him?”
“Yes,” Hermione admitted. “He’s here every weekend since I got my job here in town.”
“We raised her together,” Lily said to him. “Both of them. What made you think this was okay?”
“He’s not our father,” Harri spoke from her spot on the couch. “He’s kind and really loves her. He actually respects her. I’ve seen them together and he’s good for her. She’s so happy.”
Hermione mouthed, “Thank you.”
“I still don’t like it and I still can’t understand how my best friend ended up sleeping with my daughter.”
“That’s okay,” Hermione told her. “If you really don’t want us to stay, we’ll go to a hotel or something.”
“I don’t want you to go. It’s Christmas,” Lily told Hermione. “But, I know you’ll follow him if he leaves. Stay. Both of you. Too much has happened today. One daughter is pregnant. The other is dating a man twice her age. I am not happy but I will deal with this.”
“At least you know he’s good,” Harri offered. “He would never hurt her.”
Lily sighed. “That’s the only thing I’m certain of.”
Chapter 9: The Discussion
Summary:
Harri is starting a family, which is making Hermione think about her own future.
Chapter Text
It’s hard to stay angry with Harri but Hermione wasn’t one to back away from a challenge. Between her mother’s reclamation of her house and workplace bullshit, Hermione’s once peaceful existence had changed.
Harri would come over and Hermione simply went upstairs or left for a drive. As her sister’s belly grew, she softened and by the time Harri posted the sonogram on the refrigerator they were friends again. Friends was a strong word. She was speaking to her.
“What is it?”
“One baby thank god. It’s a girl.”
“Oh,” Hermione replied.
“Can I tell you again that I’m sorry?”
“You’ve been apologizing for the past three months. There’s nothing else you can do. It’s out. I have the right to not forgive you.”
“Don’t do that. This is killing me. I’m having a baby, Mione. You have to be nice. Plus, I need to move back here. The lease on the apartment I was sharing with Veronica is up and the rent just increased.”
“You can have my room,” Hermione told her simply. “Sev and I are buying a house together.”
“You are?!”
“Yeah. We go to closing on Friday.”
“Does Mom know?”
“She’ll know when we have the keys on Friday. I’ll tell her. Well, you’ll tell her because you can’t keep your mouth shut.”
Harri shrugged. “You know me best.”
Hermione almost laughed but she wasn’t ready to let Harri think she wasn’t still upset about what happened on Christmas Eve.
“I don’t care if she knows. We’re almost twenty-four.”
“I’m having a baby out of wedlock.”
That made Hermione break. “Wedlock?!” she chuckled. “You’re dumb.”
“And we’re okay?”
Hermione looked back at the sonogram on the fridge door and said, “We have to be. She’ll need us to be.”
Hermione’s commute was now over an hour but Severus’ commute changed too. He went from being able to walk to work to needing a car. They made the compromise to live in a beautiful little suburb named Hogsmeade that was only about forty minutes from the university. Severus had to teach in person whereas Hermione only had to go into the office once a week. Her supervisors were so impressed by her knowledge and willingness to learn and teach that she consulted for other branches via video conferencing. She had made friends and loved what she did. When Lyra Elizabeth was born, she was able to take a week off to support her sister. Upon returning to Harri's room, Hermione was shocked to see Draco Malfoy in the maternity suite holding her newborn niece.
“I go look for a coffee machine and you let a literal demon hold your baby?”
“Good to see you too,” Drake responded sarcastically.
“Why are you here?” Hermione demanded. Harri cleared her throat, begging her sister to calm down.
“You want him here?”
“She’s his daughter.”
Hermione knew she needed to let Harri sort this out and she needed to learn how to forgive. She wanted to protect her sister but Harri was a grown woman too.
“If you’re going to be here, make sure you stay. It messes with a girl’s head when her dad doesn’t love her.”
“I promise,” Drake said, smiling down at the infant.
Hermione wrestled with herself to bite her tongue. She wanted to remind him that he made the same promise on a skyscraper in Dubai. He did appear to be absolutely enamored with Lyra.
“She’s got your beautiful eyes, baby,” he said to Harri. “She’s so pretty and perfect.”
Smiling Hermione, took a sip of her coffee and asked Harri if she needed anything. Harri said, “No.” As she did so, she scratched a spot near the IV site on her hand and that’s when Hermione spotted it.
A ring-- the same one that could pay off the mortgage of a house, maybe two.
“Congratulations, I guess.”
Harri looked down at her hand and back up at her sister.
“Oh yeah.”
“So you forgive him?” Hermione whispered.
“We talked,” Harri replied just as quietly.
“I don’t know what to say.”
“Can you just be happy for me? He loves her.”
“He does,” Hermione nodded and turned to watch Drake coo at his newborn daughter. “Do you need anything from me?”
“No,” Harri smiled tiredly. “Drake’s coming to pick us up tomorrow. If that's okay?”
Taking her sister’s hand, Hermione told her, “I’ll be waiting for you at home. Is he going to stay with you tonight?” The hospital had a 'one overnight guest' policy in the maternity wing. Hermione had packed a bag since Lily was in the room for the birth. She suggested Hermione could be the one to stay that night.
“Yeah.”
“Alright. I’ll let you guys have your family time.”
Harri appeared to relax and said, “Thank you for understanding.”
Hermione was always understanding when it came to Harri. She was her mother’s child and fell into the same patterns. Hermione imagined that Drake would reappear eventually, especially to raise his daughter. She just didn’t think it would be the literal day of her birth. Good for him. Hopefully, having a daughter will slow him down. Maybe he could be faithful to Harri. Hermione tried to be optimistic.
Hermione could hear her sister’s footsteps on the staircase from the kitchen. She had little Lyra cradled in her arms.
“Where’s my baby?” Harri called, putting on her robe. It had been a few days since they came home from the hospital. Harri had no complications or concerns but Hermione doted on her and tried to make things easier for her.
“She’s here with her favorite Aunt.”
“You’re her only one,” Harri laughed, reaching to take her. “Was she crying? I didn’t hear her.”
“She was a little fussy and I wanted you to get some sleep.”
“Aw, thanks.” Lyra began to fuss and instinctively turned her mouth towards her mother’s chest. “She’s hungry, I think.”
“It’s been three hours since Mom gave her a bottle.”
“Okay. You’re leaving this afternoon, right?”
“Yes. I’ve got to get back to work tomorrow. Will you be alright? When are you going back?”
“So here’s the thing…” She turned her focus on helping Lyra latch. Like a pro, the baby began suckling.
“Oh God. What are you going to tell me now?”
“Hush. I only have six weeks of maternity leave. If I want more time, I’d have to drain my sick leave.”
“That’s not enough time. It sucks that moms have to choose between an income and raising their children.”
“Right? Anyway, I’m resigning as soon as my maternity and sick leave are up.”
“What? I thought you liked working there.”
“I do… Sometimes. Now that Lyra’s here, I can’t imagine leaving her with a babysitter or at a daycare.”
“So what are you going to do for money?”
Harri said, “Guess.”
“Stripping?”
“No.”
“Cam girl?”
“Not that I haven’t thought about it but no.”
“I don’t know Harri. You’re crazy and it could be literally anything.”
“I’m going to be a stay-at-home mom. Drake agrees that I should be with Lyra for as long as possible. These first few years are so important.”
“Was this your idea?” Hermione asked, watching Harri gently stroke her daughter’s blonde wisps of hair.
“We talked about it together. He’s privileged enough that we’ll never worry about money. Why should I stress about twelve-hour shifts when being a mom is the most important job I’ll ever have? I want to be there for her baby years and I’m lucky enough to get the chance. I’m taking it.”
Hermione nodded and told her, “You make a lot of sense. I’m just worried that you’ll lose yourself. You’ve wanted to be a nurse since we were eleven.”
“I’m still a nurse, even if I’m not working for someone. Motherhood is teaching, nursing, coaching, etc. I told Drake that I’ll go back to work part-time when she’s in preschool.”
“What did he think of that?”
Harri laughed as she brought Lyra to her shoulder and patted her back. “He said, ‘thank god’. He said he didn’t think I’d be able to go that long. Some preschools start as early as two-and-a-half. My career will pause. Not end.”
Hermione laughed softly. “He knows you. I’ve been dying to know. How did he end up back in your life? I know he wanted to see Lyra but you’re not just co-parenting. You’re like getting married and everything.”
“We are getting married,” Harri corrected her. “He asked me if we could meet one day. It was the day after my baby shower. He said he was sorry that he hurt me. He only slept with one of them.”
“Only?”
“I know. That one woman, Astoria, slept with him before the engagement. We were dabbling with polyamory for a little bit. You know me? I sample everything at the buffet.”
“You’re such a weirdo. Why did you have to say it like that? But, keep going.”
“When we got engaged, we agreed to stop.’
"So, he never actually cheated? What about the other ones? With the pictures?”
“They slept with him too. But, the pictures are old. He proved it.”
“How?”
“There’s a little tattoo of a lightning bolt on his thigh, right by his di--”
“I got it thanks.”
Harri giggled. “He got it for me.”
“To match your forehead? That’s actually kind of sweet,”
“Yeah. He knows how insecure I get about my scar. Anyway, he didn’t have the tattoo in the pictures. They were more than two years old. Those women are Astoria’s friends. She wanted him back.”
“So she destroyed your relationship.”
“Almost. She didn’t account for Lyra and Drake’s strong sense of family. He’s very close to his parents and they like me. I missed his mom when we were separated. He says that she’s the one who pushed him to keep trying.”
Hermione asked, “Why did you keep this from me? Your shower was two weeks ago.”
“I thought you would lecture me again.”
Hermione knew Harri was right to think that. “I’m sorry I’ve been so judgemental. I just love you so much and I hate to know someone is hurting you. Now, I have Lyra to add to the list.”
“You wouldn’t be Hermione if you weren’t a little judgemental. How is your relationship going?” Harri questioned. Lyra was fast asleep in her arms.
“Sev is wonderful as always. We just unpacked the last box finally. Things are good.”
“Are you guys talking about marriage or starting a family?”
Hermione nodded and fiddled with her watch as a text came in from Severus. “I’m not sure I want kids. He doesn’t care either way. I think he’s worried about having his kid graduate from high school when he’s sixty.”
“Literally no one will care.”
“I told him that,” Hermione added. “He’s asking me when I’ll be home.”
“Cute.”
“Whatever,” Hermione blushed. The front door alarm sounded and Lily called out from the living room. “In here!”
“Hey, girls!” Lily told them. “How is everyone?”
Harri told her, “Your granddaughter wants you.” Harri just wanted someone else to take over for a while. Thank goodness for grandmothers.
“I’m sure she said that,” Lily said sarcastically. “Let me wash my hands and then I’ll give her my undivided attention.”
For the rest of the day, Hermione enjoyed her time with her family. Her mind kept going back to Harri’s questions about marriage and children. They were still in their early twenties but Harri was already lightyears ahead of Hermione on a journey she wasn’t sure she even wanted to take.
After an hour-long drive, she was back home on her sofa with her head in her boyfriend’s lap. “What are you thinking?” Severus stroked her hair while she played with the fabric on her sweater.
“How did you know I was thinking anything?”
“Just a good guess.” The truth is that Hermione knew he had her memorized. He knew what she would do days before she would do it. It made it hard to be spontaneous but she always stumped him in the bedroom. That, he hadn’t been able to predict. “Tell me what’s going on?”
“Harri says she’s going to marry Drake for sure. She’s planning to move back in the next few weeks.”
“Okay. Anything else?”
“She asked me if we wanted to get married or have kids.”
His hand stopped stroking her hair for a second but then resumed. “What did you tell her?”
“I told her that we talk about it and I am not sure if I want to have kids.”
“Do you still feel like that?”
“Yes, but I’m also twenty-four. How will I feel at thirty-five or forty? You know? Will I regret it?”
Looking down at her with understanding eyes, he asked, “How does it feel to hold Lyra in your arms?”
“Incredible. I loved her before she was born but then to hold her… Sev, I’ve never felt love like that in my life. Romantic love is different. Wonderful and beautiful but this was something else. This little person has my heart. My whole heart. I will do anything for her. I’m rambling. Sorry.”
“No,” he smiled. “I love your passion. I always do. If you had a daughter, what would you name her?”
“I was thinking about Anna.”
“Anna? Really?”
“Or Sarah. Maybe Sarah-Jane with the hyphen. I just want her to have a normal name. She’ll always be able to find her name on a keychain.”
He laughed loudly. “I understand the struggle too. And for a boy?”
“Christopher or David. I like David. David Snape.”
Severus chuckled at her and sighed.
“What?” she asked, wanting to know what was so funny.
“Nothing.”
“No… Tell me.”
“You just listed four baby names you have been thinking about. Babies with me. But you claimed to not want kids.”
She smiled. “I guess you’re right. I have been imagining it since Harri told me she was pregnant. What about you? Do you want kids?”
“In general, it’s not something I thought about. But lately, when I think of our son or daughter… I smile. I like the idea and I like the name David. David Anthony Snape?”
“I like that a lot. I love it.”
“So, we want kids?” Severus clarified.
Hermione grinned. “Yes. One day. Not now. I want to grow a little more first.”
“That’s sensible,” Severus told her. “I think it would be a good idea for us to get married unless you want them to be in the ceremony.”
Hermione laughed. “I’d like to be married first but it’s not super important to me. There are tax benefits but it’s not a big deal. If we got engaged, we would have to get married after Harri. Her wedding is supposed to be next year in June. She swears she won’t lose the baby weight by then. She just grew a literal human being and that’s what she’s worried about.”
Severus chuckled at her running commentary.
“What?” she whined.
“Nothing. I just love you so much.”
Hermione pushed herself up and kissed him on the lips. “I love you too.”
“If I asked you to marry me today, what would you say?”
“Yes,” she replied quickly.
Smiling, Severus told her, “That wasn’t a proposal.”
“Okay… and that wasn’t an answer. But, I will be practicing introducing myself as Mrs. Snape or Mrs. Potter-Snape or…”
He kissed her once more, silencing her, holding her there for a few moments. When she pulled away, she said, “Or Mrs. Evans-Snape”
“I was thinking of this. Now presenting… Mr. and Mrs. Granger-Prince.”
Her face lit up and her eyes filled with excitement. “That’s perfect. You’ll change yours too?”
“Remember, I told you that I wanted to change it in college but I wasn’t brave enough.”
“Yeah. I do.”
“Hermione, you make me brave.”
Chapter 10: The Faculty Banquet
Summary:
Hermione and her loved ones gather to honor Severus at a grand banquet, but their joyous reunion is disrupted when old enemies resurface with a warning.
Chapter Text
“Why is it that girls with curls straighten their hair for fancy events?”
“And straight-haired women curl their hair?”
“Yeah,” Harri said, gliding her sister’s hair through two hot ceramic plates.
“I guess to look different than we normally do. I’ll do you next,” Hermione promised.
“Great. It’ll be nice to be pampered for a little while.”
Hermione knew her sister loved motherhood but two kids were a lot to handle in her opinion. “Happy to do it. I’m just happy you agreed to come.”
“I’m afraid that if I don’t say yes, I’ll never get to go out to grown-up events ever again. It’s all playdates and doctor’s appointments for me.”
“How is my nephew doing by the way?”
Harri beamed at the question and caressed her bump. “He’s healthy and getting bigger. Drake’s whole family is fighting over his name. His mom wants Cy, a little nod to her father. His dad wants Cassius. Drake was thinking of Scorpius.”
Hermione laughed. “It’s a good thing they’re rich because those names are weird as fuck. Rich people can get away with that mess.”
“They’re family names!”
“From ancient Rome and Greece?”
“They do come from very old money,” Harri commented. “Caesar was also considered.”
“What do you want to name him?”
“I like the name Leo. Leonardo is a little too on the nose.”
“And a little too normal for your family. Lyra is pretty normal sounding, I guess. Cassiopeia? You set her up. I thought Hermione was difficult.”
“You’re right. She will struggle with that one in kindergarten. You know, Lyra can write her entire name. She swears she’s ready to go to big kid school now.”
“Kindergarten?” Hermione repeated. “Wow. You have kids getting ready for kindergarten. When did that happen?”
Straightening the last lock of hair, Harri told her, “Sometime between Freshman orientation and my last visit to Labor and Delivery. Sis, you look amazing and with that dress, he’ll have trouble keeping his hands off you.”
Hermione wasn’t too sure about that. “I invited you and Mom to distract everyone. Sev didn’t even want to go until I convinced him.”
“Why not? It’s a dinner in his honor, right?” Harri asked, sitting in the seat Hermione just vacated.
“It’s to honor all the faculty who have served the university for ten or more years. He never goes but this time, he’s an honoree. He does not like crowds.”
“Yeah, he always looked uncomfortable at every graduation or concert we ever had and my wedding.”
Hermione parted her sister’s hair to start styling. This wouldn’t take as long as Hermione’s. Harri’s hair texture changed, becoming thinner since Lyra’s birth. She had also cut it to her shoulder when she previously kept it long, to her middle back. Her green eyes were still just as bright and mischievous as they always had been.
“Well, he became apprehensive about my joining him as his date.”
“You’re his fiance though.”
“He keeps our private life private.”
“And you used to go there.”
“Yeah. Everyone either knows me as his goddaughter or as his student. No matter what, my showing up on his arm will raise eyebrows. If I show up with mom, his best friend, and my sister then--”
“We just look like a supportive family.”
“You get it. We have to get through this.”
“Why didn’t you just decline?” Harri asked.
Hermione replied, “He deserves to be honored. He’s an amazing educator. I would have stayed home but he didn’t want to go on his own.”
Harri laughed softly. “You two are a little obsessed with each other.”
“He’s got anxiety, Harriet Jane.”
“Sorry, Hermione Jean,” Harri said, hands raised in surrender. “What will he do when you get married?”
“He’ll be fine. We’re only inviting like twenty people.”
Just then Lyra burst into Hermione and Severus’ bedroom, announcing, “We’re back!”
Hermione chuckled at the little blonde tornado. “We can see that.”
“What did you do with Uncle Sev and Daddy?” Harri asked.
“It’s a secret!”
Harri groaned, rubbing her daughter’s cheek with her thumb. “Did you get chocolate ice cream?”
“No,” Lyra said grinning, obviously lying. With straight bleach-blonde hair styled in a bun and a massive green bow that matched her emerald eyes, the girl was doll-like. Draco and his parents had a difficult time denying her anything. With Cassie becoming more verbal, Harri was in trouble because her children were going to team up and wreak havoc.
“Hey, everyone.” Draco joined them in the bedroom and kissed his wife’s cheek.
Harri rolled her eyes. “Draco Lucius Malfoy, did you give this child ice cream? And where is Cassie? She better not have the evidence on her face too.”
“Uh oh,” Lyra said and giggled. “Daddy’s in trouble.”
“And you love every minute of it,” Hermione commented to which Lyra nodded.
The family shared a table with the wives of two of Severus’ colleagues. Mrs. Sandra Flitwick, a woman in her fifties, was there for her husband Philip while a sweet woman named Olympe cheered on her wife, Ruby Hagrid. The night was going well, the food was tasty, and the atmosphere was friendly. Severus received his plaque and took his place between Lily and Hermione.
Sandra politely asked him, “Are these your daughters?”
“No,” Lily answered. “They’re mine but he’s a dear family friend.”
“How wonderful! I have three children and they would never come out to something like this. Brats.”
The table laughed and Hermione slid her hand into Severus’ discreetly. When everyone was distracted by Lily’s pictures of her little angels, Hermione learned to whisper into her fiance’s ear.
“Are you alright?”
He nodded and gave her a soft smile. “Are you?”
She mimicked his actions and released his hand. “Follow me. Wait two minutes. Meet me in the Helga Room upstairs.”
She left the table after excusing herself to the bathroom. Always one to follow instructions to the T, Severus found her upstairs in the aforementioned room.
“How did you know this would be open?”
“I used to work here for two years. This student union’s floor plan is seared into my brain.”
“Why did you want to meet here?”
She checked the small window in the door to make sure no one had followed them. “I wanted to congratulate you properly.”
Severus still looked anxious but couldn’t hide his excitement.
“No sex,” Hermione giggled. “That would be too much. But I did want to give you a proper kiss.”
Pushing him gently onto the meeting room’s wall, she felt his arms wrap around her and his nose brush against hers. The kiss, forbidden and stolen, was full of passion and joy. His hand slid up her back to find her zipper and she laughed into his kiss. “None of that now. I promise you’ll get to celebrate the way you want to later. It’ll be better than anything we could get up to in here.”
Shrugging, he said, “I had to try.”
“Naughty boy. We should go back down.”
When they exited the room, Severus went first, followed by Hermione three minutes later.
“I was just about to come looking for you,” Harri said knowingly.
Hermione smiled at her but pinched her under the table. “I ran into an old friend.”
“Did you go here?” Sandra asked.
“She was my best student,” Ruby answered in an English accent Hermione couldn’t name if she tried.
“Mine too,” Flitwick added.
“Here we go again,” Harri said with no malice. “Hermione was every teacher’s favorite growing up.”
“Except for Lestrange,” Hermione noted, pushing her hair behind her ear.
“Oh!” Olympe spoke, “That is a beautiful ring too. We were talking about Harri’s when you were gone. You and your sister’s have partners with very good taste in jewelry.”
“To be fair,” Hermione said, “I picked it out with him. He’s clueless in that regard.”
Everyone chuckled, including Severus. “He’s good to you though?” Ruby asked, taking a sip of sparkling cider.
“He’s the best partner I could have asked for.”
“When is the wedding?”
“Hopefully, after I have this one,” Harri said, trying to shift the conversation away from Hermione’s love life.
“When are you due?” Philip asked. “It’s a boy, isn’t it?”
She nodded, smiling. “He is due in April. How did you know?”
“Good guess,” Philip admitted. “You know this award and plaque is nice but having a family has been my greatest accomplishment.”
“That’s how I feel,” Lily said, looking proudly gesturing to her two children.
“I couldn’t agree more,” Ruby said, nodding with Olympe. “Our son just finished medical school. We couldn’t be any prouder. It wasn’t easy but well worth it.”
“What do you say, Severus?” Philip asked. “When is the bachelor going to settle down?”
Keeping a nonchalant demeanor, Severus simply said, “When I’ve found the right woman and she gives me the honor of becoming my wife.”
“Knowing you,” Philip began. “You’ll go away for spring break and come back married and we would never know you were even seeing someone, much less engaged.”
Everyone laughed but Hermione knew that was exactly what would happen. Severus loved a bit of mystery in his persona.
“I can set you up with someone,” Sandra offered. “My sister’s divorce was just finalized.”
“That is very kind of you,” Severus replied. “I’m actually seeing someone. She’s not my girlfriend but we’re getting pretty serious.”
Lily, reading through the lines, rolled her eyes but smirked at him. Hermione wasn’t his girlfriend, but his fiance and they were getting serious. The wedding was in less than four months.
“Sorry!” Sandra blushed. “Why didn’t I figure it out?”
The three women on the other side of the table looked at Sandra with confusion.
She gestured towards Lily and Severus, whose eyes went wide. “You’re a good-looking couple.”
Severus made eye contact with Hermione to gauge her reaction. Hermione laughed so hard at her fiance’s facial expression that she set off Harri and they were now stuck in a fit of giggles.
“Thanks, Sandra,” Severus said dryly. “You broke them.”
The women laughed even harder.
The evening ended and the group made their way to Severus’ small SUV in good spirits. Harri had already removed her heels complaining of aching feet and swollen ankles so she couldn’t walk across the freezing parking lot. Severus and Lily offered to bring the truck around and pick them up.
As the two stood shivering in the January wind, a familiar voice said, “Hermione.”
Turning around, Hermione was face-to-face with Delphine Lestrange and her mother.
“Oh hi, Delphine. How are you? It’s been a while.”
“Things are fine. How are you? I saw you inside at Professor Snape’s table.”
“Oh yeah? I’m good. This is my sister, Harri.”
“Nice to meet you.”
Something told Hermione that her old classmate didn’t give a damn about how she was. They were at the same event for the past four hours and this is when Delphine decided to say something. When there were no witnesses?
Harri politely said, “Hello. Did you go to school with Mione?”
“Yes. I was in Professor Snape’s class with her and she always had the highest grades.”
“That sounds about right,” Harri agreed. “My sister’s a genius when it comes to that kind of thing. Can she cook? No. Sing? Forget about it.”
“Harri, be quiet,” Hermione said with no anger.
“I thought she was a genius too until tonight. Do you know what I have on my phone?”
Hermione kept her face stoic and asked, “Why would I know that?”
“Well, it’s your photograph.”
“Okay. We’ve taken a lot of photos tonight.”
“None like this.”
Delphine’s mother stood by quiet, but smug. On Delphine’s phone was a picture of Hermione and Severus kissing in a dark room, in their formal wear.
“Great,” Harri said next. “You’re a fucking weirdo. Why are you sneaking around taking pictures of my sister.”
“The better question is how they managed to hide their relationship when she was a student here.”
Professor Lestrange finally spoke and said, “This will be brought to the disciplinary committee.”
“They didn’t even start dating until after she graduated,” Harri told them both. “What you have on your phone, other than a creep shot of my sister, is proof that Severus can pull a younger woman. They’re both adults. She’s almost thirty and she graduated a long time ago.”
“She spent a lot of time in his office during undergrad.”
“So what?” Harri asked, looking at her like she was crazy. Hermione was glad Harri was here because otherwise, she would have started crying. She never wanted to risk Severus’ career, especially when he hadn’t wanted to come at all. Delphine only had the photograph because Hermione brought him upstairs to sneak a kiss.
“Do you have any proof that they were doing anything unethical from that time?”
“She could have been doing things with him.”
“She also could have been running naked through campus but she didn’t. Delete that shit off your phone… Oh wait, I remember you now!”
Hermione didn’t know where she was going with this. She never told Harri anything about meeting with McGonagall or Lestrange’s accusations all those years ago.
“Hermione, I think she’s in love with you or something.”
“I am not!’ Delphine protested, looking back at her mother. “Mom, I swear.”
“Hermione was always telling me how you were always following her around, copying her, and trying to join her study groups. When it was clear that she didn’t want you, you turned on her, didn’t you?”
“That isn’t true!”
“So you don’t like it when people make up stories about you?” Harri proffered. Delphine scrunched up her face in anger.
“This is ridiculous!” Lestrange said. “This is proof that he was lying. He claimed to be your godfather.”
“It’s a loose term. We’re not religious,” Harri explained easily. “He’s a friend of our family. It’s not that big of a deal. Also, what the fuck is your problem? Did mommy’s little girl not get a good grade? As a mother, I can tell you, you have to let that shit go. You have bigger issues to worry about. It’s been like six years. If you hate Severus, then be a hater, I guess. He’s tenured and respected. He loves my sister and you need to move on. Hermione, I’m too pregnant and cold for this stupidity. Where is he with the car?”
Hermione watched as Lestrange and her daughter turned and walked away, with nothing else to say.
Hermione loved her sister so much at that moment. Her anxiety dropped dramatically because everything she said was true. Harri was right. Hermione was a genius when it came to academics but Harri could take a person apart, leaving them naked and afraid.
“You’re the best,” Hermione told her once they were in the backseat together. She explained to Severus and Lily what happened when they were gone.
“I’m sorry your secrets are out,” Harri told Severus more than Hermione.
Severus sighed. “It was only a matter of time. I was going to announce it when I changed my name. We’re getting married and I refuse to hide you any longer.”
The ring on her finger glinted in the light of street lamps that dotted the university’s long boulevards.
“Let her submit that weird picture,” Hermione told them all. “I actually should have asked her to text it to me. We can add it to our wedding album.”
Lily snorted at that and said, “We can blow it up and display it in the reception hall.”
“You’re scaring me, Lils.” Severus told her. "Please don't do that."
“I don’t like someone making my daughter upset and trying to mess with your life, Sev. You don’t deserve it. You're a good person. Could this really impact your job?”
“Doubt it. It’s the gossip and scandal that could do more damage than any actual disciplinary action.”
“Well,” Harri said, laying her head on Hermione’s shoulder. “I told that Lestrange lady that all she would do was show that you have a young wife. Some of the men in your age group would just be jealous. Hermione’s not even that young.”
“Thanks, Harri.”
“What? We’re twins. I’m two minutes older than you.”
“Anyway,” Hermione said, “I just want to get home and go straight to bed. We’ll have to see what happens in the morning.”
Lily agreed, saying, “Drake better have those girls in bed by the time we get back. It would be nice.”
“He will,” Harri promised. “He knows he’s in trouble for the ice cream incident.”
“What was so bad about giving them ice cream?”
“He’s starting to spoil them and when Lyra eats ice cream she doesn’t eat anything else for the rest of the day. She’s already too small. Cassie is becoming the same way. I just want them to eat their dinner first and then have the treat after.”
“Well, I feel bad,” Severus told her. “I was the one who paid for the ice cream. Drake’s just covering for me.”
Harri cleared her throat and replied. “Draco still should have known better. But, now that you’ll be my brother-in-law, I should let you know that you’re on thin ice.”
Hermione giggled, feeling the stress of the past few hours melt away. Leave it to Harri to defend her and threaten her fiance all in the space of an hour.
Hermione said through her laughter, “Harri, I love you so much.”
“I love you too, Mione.”
