Work Text:
This was the right timing, he was so sure.
He had been waiting for this moment.
It was right after class, his eyes were like on auto-pilot, immediately spotting a certain young man leaning against the building’s wall with a book in his hands.
It was a place mostly void of professors and students at any time of the day that not many people on campus were aware of.
A small smile danced on those plump and rosy lips before he was closing his eyes, letting the refreshing breeze of something close to spring caress his black hair. Rays of sun were shining through the trees, making this whole setting seem almost like a dream.
Kim Younghoon was definitely not staring.
Lee Juyeon, student of law and in his 5th semester -
a mystery to his peers and a quiet hoobae with a pretty face that captivates everyone alike. Someone who seemed to prefer to keep to himself on no matter what occasion and the first person to leave the lecture room as soon as the professors gave students the go. Seeming to be completely unaware or uncaring of everyone staring at him because of how ridiculously beautiful he is.
Younghoon took a deep breath before he carefully approached his target. One, two, three swift steps and within a distance of about a meter, he placed his palm on the wall right beside Juyeon's head, merely to grasp his attention and it worked.
As doe eyes looked up at him in what he could only decipher as surprise or confusion, Younghoon offered a kind smile.
“Can I get your number?”
It was mildly surprising to witness how big the other's eyes could get as soon as his words were out, eyebrows shooting slightly up under the curtain of bangs that had grown a bit long.
It was very brief but Younghoon saw.
Juyeon pursed his lips, controlling his expression before he answered a soft “No,” with no emotion in his voice.
With that Younghoon silently watched how his hoobae closed his book and moved away with a small and polite apology.
Always polite and never out of line, that was the first impression he had of him and it was proven right.
Someone might think he would try to pursue and run after the pretty boy like any other drama male lead would do but instead, he stood still and waited until he was out of sight.
And when Juyeon was fully gone, a sigh escaped him.
That did not work as planned and to be fair, it was very embarrassing so Younghoon did what he needed to do in order to cope: Shortly shrieking into his own sleeve before moving on with the day like normal.
+++
The next time he tried to weigh his chances was in the campus canteen. Juyeon was sitting alone with his airpods in, chewing on his food that caused his usually sharp features to suddenly resemble a hamster stuffing his cheeks.
For a while Younghoon had been watching from afar and tried not to seem like a stalker because whenever he thought of last time he wanted to stick his head into the ground like an ostrich confronting danger.
Shame aside, it took him some time to get over it so he finally made his next move and smoothly slid to Juyeon's side, leaning one elbow on the table to have a better look at the other’s face.
Juyeon blinked, taking out one of his airpods and was about to say something, to probably ask if he could help him in any way but Younghoon naturally beat him to it.
“Can I have your number?”
The piece of kimchi that was held in between his chopsticks fell back into the white plate where it used to belong. His brows were knit together, processing, loading and then he answered. “.. No,” almost sounding offended.
Juyeon stood up from his seat to put away his tray of food that was still half-full as if Younghoon’s appearance killed his appetite, mumbling an awkward apology once more to leave the elder on his own.
Another day and another failure - Younghoon groaned into his hands as he earned some snickers from students who were witnesses.

“Are you interested in Lee Juyeon?”
Younghoon sent his roommate a baffled look.
“No, why would you think that?”
The elder shrugged, nonchalantly taking a sip of his iced coffee that was slightly too bitter for his taste based on the face he made.
“Because you've been trying to get his attention,”
His roommate, Lee Sangyeon, was his senior but was studying mechanical engineering on the campus across from his own. He had already been living in these dorms before Younghoon started off as a freshman so they had known each other since then and were fairly close.
“Yeah, because I want to have his number-”
“So you are interested,”
Sangyeon deadpanned with a raised brow, pointing with his finger as if he had been caught.
Younghoon denied it with a shake of his head.
“So I can give it to Jaehyun,”
That explanation seemed to have not helped so he began to clarify himself before Sangyeon would throw him more unnecessary questions.
“Jaehyun kept complaining about his dates going shit and I think Juyeon likes him,” because whenever Jaehyun picked Younghoon up from their class, Juyeon, the Lee Juyeon who was more prone to avoid eye contact would always blatantly stare at the two, watching quietly. And whenever their eyes would accidentally meet, he’d turn away with a red neck like he had been caught - Suspicious .
Younghoon thought he could give it a little push because he was a good friend. Hopefully not making the younger one uncomfortable, which he slowly started to doubt by Juyeon's reactions whenever he was within a radius of fifteen meters.
Maybe he should explain why he was asking for his number instead. But he didn’t want to make his intention too obvious - aka trying not to expose his best friend's pitiful love life which is why he was being subtle about it. As in as subtle as he could while playing matchmaker for Lee Jaehyun and a hoobae that he barely knew anything about but was sharing one class together with.
Sangyeon reworded it rather unimpressed.
“So you are prying,”
“Hyung, don’t phrase it like that. I’m trying to do something nice,”
Juyeon usually didn’t talk to other people in their major but when being approached he seemed more open-minded than one would expect and always ready to help, as far as Younghoon could observe so he thought this would be an easy-go.
Turns out he was wrong and the younger one was now keeping his safe distance from Younghoon and started to glare whenever he saw him.
In his belief Jaehyun and Juyeon could make a good match.
His best friend was a never-leaving nuisance in his life who loved to play pranks whenever bored but he also had a heart of gold and always would silently take care of everyone around him in his own way.
Someone like Juyeon, a quiet pole with more common sense, would compliment him well.
It was not only that - there was the look in Juyeon’s eyes that had Younghoon convinced.
For some people you could see the soul through their eyes and among those, Juyeon was one of them.
All Younghoon could see in them was genuinity, delicacy, kindness but also sharpness in a way that he was careful and smart about whom and what he was dealing with - very similar to a cat. That could also be the reason why he was so wary of Younghoon, possibly.
Sangyeon nodded to himself.
“Well if that's the case, good luck,”
His voice sounded a little doubtful but he didn’t bother to ask what it was about - therefore he was way too tired.
“Thanks, I’m really trying,”
And he really was because the younger’s bubble was so difficult to break.

Third time's the charm, right?
Younghoon began to doubt the saying when he tried to approach Juyeon one more time, this time with a more elaborate speech prepared in his head.
If only he knew that fate was nothing he could count on.
Before he could call out his name, Juyeon whipped his head back on his own and those slightly tired and puffy eyes suddenly widened a ridiculous amount. Younghoon still couldn’t believe it and wondered if Juyeon's eyes were always that big because he apparently always had them kind of half-closed.
A loud thud echoed across the entire basketball court and all of a sudden, his vision blurred.
Yes, a ball had hit the back of his head in a way that he believed could've just killed a million of his brain cells with its immense force.
But this is not where it ended, of course not.
Someone from behind shoved him forth, causing Younghoon to stagger and trip.
Trip not into Juyeon for them to fall over like in all of these movies that he had inhaled throughout his 27 years on earth- No, he embarrassingly hit the floor right beside Juyeon who had flinched as he watched, not even giving it a try to catch his sunbae.
He couldn’t blame him for it, it would’ve been futile anyways in the way and with the speed he fell but come on.
The youngsters that had run into him and caused his fall mouthed an apology before they ran off again so it was all.. Just unlucky. Let alone the embarrassing sound he let out, voice unnecessarily squeaky and high.
Face smushed on the ground, he found himself asking.
“.. Are you okay?”
Juyeon didn’t seem to move and muttered
“Yeah… I’m.. okay,”
Both realized a tad bit too late that this interaction made no sense whatsoever. Younghoon slowly got up with a groan, patting down his dirtied pants before meeting eyes with Juyeon who had a worried expression gracing his features.
“Uhm,” He was fiddling with the massive number of books he held onto with both arms, the one on the front titled as ‘The Law of Peoples’ by John Rawls.
Nerdy, kind of cute - Jaehyun would say in Younghoon's opinion.
“That sounded painful… Are you okay?”
Seeing the ever so stoic male caring so genuinely made Younghoon feel grateful, a smile stretched on his lips before he had to wince from dull pain running through his head. Now that it was said out loud, yes, it actually hurt quite a lot.
But before he could say anything in return or react he felt a gentle touch– Younghoon blinked in confusion.
“Ah- sunbaenim, it’s swelling,”, Juyeon’s brows furrowed, carefully pulling his hand back from the area that was still throbbing. He touched it?
“You should head to the infirmary to let the nurse have a look at it,”
Not something he ever considered doing.
"Really? I think it should be fine though, I mean it was just a ball so it will only bruise for a while..”
Juyeon shook his head, apparently not liking what the elder said and was about to retort when he stopped midway. A face akin to questioning himself began to appear, not sure if he was allowed to say it.
Crazy, how just paying attention to the younger for a while now helped Younghoon to half-guess, half-read him. Though Juyeon seemed like the more dense and aloof kind of person, he was very thoughtful, his face giving way.
“I think you should, though..” is what he ended up with but more in a small mumble.
One shameless chance.
“If I do so, will you give me your number?”
Thus the worry in Juyeon’s eyes crumbled and was replaced with displeasure. “This isn’t funny,”
“I wasn’t trying to be funny,” the elder corrected daringly without even thinking about anything he was saying.
A beat of silence.
Juyeon was mulling.
That, Younghoon could tell but on the other hand the look that he gave him, he couldn't place well.
“.. If this is how you try to flirt with someone, you are doing an awful job about it,” he sounded slightly annoyed but still took out his phone and then shoved his contact in front of Younghoon’s face.
“Huh-”
Rendered speechless that it actually worked, Younghoon was unable to correct him that he wasn’t trying to flirt the slightest.
“Just make sure to see the nurse,”
Juyeon repeated sulkingly while shifting his weight more to one leg, waiting.
Younghoon shook his head to collect himself, accepting the phone and quickly saving the number displayed to his own contacts before Juyeon could change his mind.
And as Juyeon retrieved his device and walked away with a bow, Younghoon called out to him once more, thankful when his hoobae actually turned back.
“My name is Kim Younghoon, by the way!”
he mentioned with a wave of his hand, because he had totally forgotten to properly introduce himself.
Juyeon’s response was a simple nod which was perfectly fine.
“Nice,” he glanced at the newly saved contact 이 주연 in satisfaction and triumph.
The reason might have been only because the younger was adamant about him seeing the nurse but granted, he finally managed to complete his first mission. In the end the nurse told him that he was fine and thus, he was dismissed, headed to the dorms to rest with his hoobaes number secured.
Maybe the third time really is the charm.
Hey, here is Kim Younghoon
The nurse said I’m ok!
I just need to rest for a little bit 😀
Hello
That's good to hear
He did forget to tell him about Jaehyun but that was okay, perhaps next time.
+++
There was a gathering to welcome the freshmen for this semester next weekend where he really wanted Jaehyun and Juyeon to meet so he started to plant the seeds, no matter how much he sucked at texting people.
Are you coming to the
gathering next weekend?
No
Why not? It will be fun! :(
Are we really studying
for the same degree?
I can't
I have an assignment to finish
Then why are you chatting
with me when you’re busy?
...
I can help you with the assignment
Don't worry
Make sure to come 🙂
And to his own surprise Juyeon actually walked up to him in his awkward yet still cool demeanor, speaking quickly before Younghoon was even able to greet him.
“You said you’d help me with my assignment,”
It was a small excuse as Juyeon wasn’t even looking at him but he took it and chuckled.
“It’s a deal,” giving him a friendly pat on the shoulder.
What always amazed him was how effortlessly fashionable Juyeon appeared. Today he wore an oversized checkered shirt over a white basic, loose jeans and sneakers - a simple but working college boy look with his choice of accessories completing it. Younghoon, who never really was much into fashion, would say his style totally fit with Jaehyun's type.
Juyeon let his gaze drift around, hands hiding under his shirt’s sleeves. It was written in his eyes behind his thick framed glasses if they were waiting for someone else but as Younghoon was about to answer, his phone buzzed in his hand with a pop-up message on the screen.
Jaehyun: Sorry man but I can’t make it today
Jaehyun: Group’s project and the deadline was shifted to tomorrow midnight ㅠㅠ tears running down my face
Juyeon stared at his phone but was unable to see from the angle, cocking his head to the side.
“Is everything okay?”
Gnawing on his bottom lip, Younghoon briefly thought of just calling it off right then. Believe it or not, he is a person who treasures his me-time that he decided to give away for his best friend’s sake but now that Jaehyun was not even going to be part, he genuinely considered telling Juyeon to just head back home.
Taking a breath, he was just about to do it when it only took one glance at the other’s worried expression for the idea to immediately fly out of the window.
Younghoon was no asshole.
As if he could do that after bothering him so much to go out when he was busy, plus those clueless eyes - nevermind, he just couldn’t, no explanation needed.
Might as well just spend an evening together, failed plans be doomed. So he nodded “Yeah, let’s go in,”
+++
Regret, a summary.
Well, for the first hour it was kind of nice. He was able to catch up with some others that he hadn’t seen in a while and greeted the freshmen for this semester, introducing Juyeon to everyone who was practically hiding himself behind Younghoon the entire time.
For someone who seemed usually so sure of himself, at least in the prospect of rejecting Younghoon asking for his number, that was a contrast he didn't expect. For Juyeon to be awkward, yes, but not to be this shy.
Not even three hours later and he was already at his limit after all the interaction, yet alone the noise. Meanwhile Juyeon held his ears at the endless screaming of their very drunk fellow students.
He did send him an accusing look of
“Is this really your definition of fun?” and Younghoon grimaced. He had nothing to defend himself, this was not how he imagined how tonight would go.
His initial plan was for his best friend and his hoobae to get to know each other only for them to fall in love and live happily ever after but no, with Jaehyun’s absence none of that was possible.
The two sat there quietly, watching, had been for a while now, perhaps half an hour or more.
His eyes slowly moved towards the window and then it suddenly hit him - they were here . It was nearby.
Should they try to make a run for it?
The next shriek of another random person was the answer to all his questions because as if he could stand another second in this godforsaken cabin.
Tapping Juyeon’s wrist when people started cheering at a tone-deaf person screeching into a microphone, he gestured towards the door. Thankfully, Juyeon caught up fast and they were quick about it, sneaking outside without anyone noticing, not that it was hard by any means as the only few sober ones.
Were they heading home?
No, although they could have been from a retro perspective but oddly, Younghoon didn't feel like parting. He logically blamed it on because he wanted to get to know his best friend's potential lover better.
“Where are we going?”
“You’ll see,”
“Hold on. Are you going to kidnap and murder me?”
Younghoon sent him a flabbergasted look but answered with a plain “No, what are you even thinking of? And even if I do, I wouldn’t tell you,” while urging him to go forward, the end of his phrase ending in a chuckle.
Perhaps Juyeon should have given it second thoughts but he followed nonetheless.
It was a bit of a stretch but after crawling and moving through planted weeds and bushes, they had arrived at their final destination. He ignored the confused look on Juyeon’s face, instead stepped forward to open one of the containers that they were standing in front of.
It was a spot not marked on the campus’ map as it was hidden behind so much greenery, a place where many containers were put and used as storage space for all kinds of things belonging to the university and their clubs.
Squeezing into the narrow space between two large cupboards with Juyeon in tow, he pulled down a cushion that was in one of the many shelves and placed it beside him. “Come, sit down,”
And the younger one obliged. “What is this place?”
“The place where my best friend and I used to hide to avoid our overbearing bully sunbaes,” Younghoon mused for a moment at the memory and handed him one of the bottles of water that he had snatched before they left the little cottage.
Juyeon mouthed a small
“Thank you,” and let his gaze curiously travel around.
Both of their sides were pressed together due to the little space they had. It was small and cramped, everything but comfortable for the two who were over
six feet tall but it would make do until the party would die out.
He gave his hoobae some time to take it all in before he said “You can just call me hyung by the way, born ‘97, it’s fine,”
Once more, Younghoon pondered if he said something so weird for Juyeon's eyes to widen before he dropped his gaze to his hands fiddling with the hem of the checkered shirt that was really too big on him. Younghoon’s brow arched at something he noticed. Now that they were so close the shirt seemed quite familiar by its look and smelled like Sa-
“.. Hyung…” Juyeon was testing the sound, debating.
“Younghoonie-hyung?”
It was so amusing.
Giving him a reassuring nod, Juyeon’s smile in return was almost dazzling without being overly dramatic.
“Uhm, how is your head?”
To that, he tilted it, not sure what the younger was referring to until Juyeon moved a little on his seat, reaching out to gently touch the place on his own head where a ball had hit Younghoon just a little over a week ago. Younghoon hummed, having nearly forgotten about that incident.
Perhaps they ended up talking about one thing and then the other until 4:04AM in this tinyass container that smelled like the old cellar of someone’s grandmother but neither seemed to mind much.
They were discussing movies and dramas, noticing how different of a taste they had, argued which was better and concluded that it was fine until they found more things they had not in common.
“Howl’s Moving Castle is everything,”
Juyeon was in disbelief judging by his eyes.
“I mean it’s good but the movie is not even close as good as to the books,”
Of course, the younger one turned out to be a reader.
“They barely knew each other in the movie and suddenly say they are in love, it just comes out of nowhere and makes no sense,”
Younghoon raised his brow, finding an opening.
“It can happen. Love needs no reason and has no bounds. That’s why it’s so romantic,”
He explained, loving the genre.
“Sometime you could just take a stroll and see someone and suddenly feel something,”
There was a pause. Boba eyes staring at him wide as if he had been struck - Younghoon didn't know what was going through his head but he could only assume that it was a lot.
Then, Juyeon turned away, covering his red ears with his hair that Younghoon saw a glimpse of for just a second. “I stand my point," Juyeon argued simply.
"Princess Mononoke is my favorite,”
“It’s still a great movie,” the older one agreed and left out that Howl’s was still better. He leaned his head to the side, trying to get Juyeon to look at him again but said male only turned away further, the harder Younghoon tried.
“But I find Sophie cuter than the princess,” he then added thoughtfully to which Juyeon finally went back to facing him, an unnatural and abrupt movement.
Another judgemental stare followed, before he rolled his eyes at Younghoon.
Which led him to ask the younger
“So you prefer the wolf princess?”
They held eye contact, him with a curious smile while Juyeon seemed a little fidgety at the question, quiet even. Younghoon waited patiently before his hoobae mumbled into the space “I prefer Howl,”
Oh, my,
Rest in Peace, Jaehyun was everything but like Howl..
“My taste is superior but yours doesn't seem as bad either,” he hummed. Juyeon only huffed at his conclusion.
Yet still, as different as they seemed to be, their conversation continued to flow as they always found something new to chat about, rarely finding even ground.
He also noted that Juyeon was even more expressive than he initially thought he’d be. With his laughs and little giggles in between their conversation that he was mostly hiding behind his palms which Younghoon found was a pity because surely, it was pretty.
And his hunch was right, he really complimented Jaehyun well aside from liking Howl.
+++
On to the next step of his plan to finally make it happen.
He had texted Juyeon to go and visit a museum for an exhibition together and his hoobae agreed - only this time Younghoon was going to do his genius matchmaker move. Don’t come and feign sickness so the two can be on their own. Or so he had thought until he received a call from his best friend while he was absentmindedly staring at his white ceiling.
“Hey?”
Before Younghoon knew it, he sprung up and grabbed his jacket, already opening the app to book the next bus or train ticket to Incheon when he heard of the news that Jaehyun’s mother had to be admitted to the hospital.
“Hoon, it’s fine, she’s fine. They just need to run through some tests, so it’s okay,”
His childhood friend most likely wanted to calm him down, so to avoid further stressing Jaehyun when things were already bad enough, he decided to take a deep breath and sat back.
Their mothers were close, his mother was technically his second mother so of course he was worried, still.
“I’m heading to Incheon right now, so sorry about today,”
Running a hand through his hair, Younghoon shook his head. “No worries, just keep me in the loop of things and if you need anything, call,” Shortly after, they hung up.
He let himself fall back into his bed, trying not to overthink too much. Having slept awfully the previous night for no reason, Younghoon thought about taking a quick nap, maybe putting an alarm to wake him in the next two hours or so.
He had already turned towards the wall with a heavy sigh, covering himself with his blanket, ready for sleep to take over.
An image of Juyeon suddenly flashed through his mind.
The exhibition.
Shit. He almost forgot about it.
And Juyeon was either on his way or already at their meeting spot because despite taking long to get ready he was always punctual.
As fast as he could, Younghoon grabbed his essentials, threw over a warm jacket and put on his shoes to make a run for it, cursing into the cold air what an idiot he was.
Why the temperatures had decided to drop all of a sudden when it was supposed to be spring was climate change doing its thing and it really did not help. All he could hope for was that Juyeon was sane enough to head somewhere inside.
+++
Fourtythree minutes late he found the younger one standing in the cold with a cup of coffee in his hands, eyes downcasted and expression unreadable. Of course he waited, although everyone else would’ve already left. His ears were red and so was his nose, broad shoulders squared up in tension, the sight making him feel awful.
Finally, he stopped in front of Juyeon who glanced back up when seeing a pair of polished dress shoes.
Younghoon was really not excelling in cardio and it showed in the way he was heaving for air after that hell of a run.
Juyeon’s eyes were big when he saw him, as if he didn’t expect for him to appear.
But why would you wait when you thought I wouldn’t come?
They returned to their usual state very quickly.
“You’re late,” He plainly said but the little shiver in his voice was very audible which made him, who was trying to catch his breath, feel even worse with guilt.
“I’m so sorry,” the elder quickly enveloped his hands around the others, grimacing at how cold Juyeon’s fingertips were, trying to warm them up just a little bit.
When Juyeon stopped still for a moment,
Younghoon curiously watched him, allowing silence to pass before he assured him that it was okay with a shake of his head.
“D-Didn't you say your friend would also come?”
“Ah.. Something happened so he couldn’t make it,”
He let his hands fall back to his side as Juyeon listened to his dropping tone, perhaps waiting for him to continue. But Younghoon didn’t feel like elaborating about his best friend’s personal problems in front of him so he shortly dismissed it like it didn’t matter. Which resulted in Juyeon considering, hesitating before he just nodded in understanding or acceptance that Younghoon wasn’t including him in something, Younghoon couldn’t tell. After meeting each other only several times, they weren't that close to begin with.
So when Juyeon for some reason didn’t speak anymore and just looked anywhere but at him, he moved the conversation.
“Let’s go or else you will become frozen yogurt,”
His hoobae gasped at the comment, pouting at him.
“You were the one who kept me waiting,”
He couldn’t hold his laughter despite feeling sorry, glad that the atmosphere shifted to something more loose again, guiding him by the waist towards the entry.
“Yes, yes and I’m really, really sorry but I ran as fast as I could and my legs are killing me now,”
Seeing the sudden guilt in Juyeon's feline eyes when it was truly Younghoon's fault, he tried to brush it off with something else.
“Also, you should’ve just stayed in the coffee shop?”
The mention caused the younger to abruptly stand still. “Ah.” It took him another pause and he went back to pout, glaring at his coffee that unfortunately stopped providing his hands warmth a long time ago.
“You’re right,”
Jaehyun really was missing out today.
Chuckling to himself, Younghoon patted both of his shoulders.
“No, no, it’s my fault for letting you wait. I will treat you to some more coffee later, okay?”
To this Juyeon's face lit up for once, followed by an eager nod. Nice save.
They headed inside, taking their sweet time and spending it mostly in silence.
The past couple of weeks had been a mess for Younghoon due to being behind in classes (his own fault) so it was soothing to just let go and breathe for these few hours. In a way spending time with Juyeon had become his down-time without knowing.
Though the exhibition itself did not interest him at all as they were wandering through the halls. It was more about how keen and fascinated Juyeon approached everything, reading over each passage of text and eyeing every little detail in all things displayed.
The view had something serene, Juyeon standing between pieces of art, completely taken by what was in front of him. At times he glanced back at the elder with those earthy but shining eyes before his legs would continue to carry him to the next station of interest.
Younghoon might’ve secretly taken some pictures that he will send to him later.
+++
They were now resting at a local coffee shop, occupying a table right beside the window wall and while Juyeon was in the bathroom, he took their orders and paid. Their order would always be the same, a cappuccino or frappuccino for himself and an americano or latte for the other, it had turned almost into a routine of some sort.
Younghoon also noted that Juyeon might be the happiest person he had ever seen when holding a cup of his favorite drink.
And like the words were dying to be spilled, the elder attentively listened to what he had to say about everything that had captivated him at the exhibition, not minding Juyeon's endless rambling at all.
Juyeon just had a special way with words that he found delicate and artful in choosing them to express himself despite the occasional, clumsy stumbling that he found more endearing than anything else.
His knowledge about a variety of topics was admirable and honestly, it would be very convenient for Jaehyun who'd need a little bit of such trivia in between his life.
“Juyeon, your coffee is getting cold,” some time he chided and pointed a finger at the cup of black liquid in between Juyeon’s sweater paws.
“Oh.” A little laugh escaped him.
“I guess I was talking too much- sorry,” for someone who was usually so quiet for sure but Younghoon shook his head, telling him that it was more than fine - especially when he looked incredibly happy doing so.
Sometimes the names Kevin and Changmin dropped during their conversation with a smile so bright and pretty, Younghoon could tell how much Juyeon cherished the people close to him.
+++
This whole.. thing. The reason why Younghoon initially approached Juyeon never seemed to work out and it was getting a little frustrating although there was no one to blame. Since Jaehyun’s mother got sick, Jaehyun decided to stay in Incheon until everything would sort itself out so he never got to meet Juyeon, which was all understandable.
But despite everything, Younghoon ended up spending more and more time with the younger and honestly?
He enjoyed it.
Just like with any of his close friends it didn’t feel draining, not even a little bit. They could just share space, with Juyeon marking books of law while Younghoon would brainlessly watch Youtube or Instagram shorts whenever he lost focus.
“Hyung, your brain will deteriorate further if you continue watching those shorts,”
“Thank you for your concern, Juyeon, but I think I’m doing okay,”
..
“Wait. Did you just imply that I’m stupid?”
Juyeon shrugged so nonchalantly.
“Your words, not mine,”
Sometimes they would sit in the library together and the truth: He wasn’t the one helping his hoobae, his hoobae was helping him with the subject they took together.
For the tenth time Juyeon put down his book, staring at Younghoon in disbelief yet again. They were going through a specific arson case of 1994 and..
“How can you not know this?”
“.. I fell asleep,”
The younger one closed his laptop, huffing so that his bangs flew up for a second. He was mad.
“I’m sorry,”
It was kind of unfair to compare the two when Juyeon was an ace at criminal law but that didn’t stop him from forcing Younghoon to read a thick book about it within a mere week.
It took the elder all-nighters to finish it in time and surely he could've just said no but he pulled through - he knew Juyeon meant well and that hard work would pay off.
Surprisingly, the latter didn’t immediately grind out his lifeline by walking through case after case as soon as the week had passed which he was very thankful for.
The sun was out for once and they were sitting in a park under the shades of a tree.
Younghoon was sleep-deprived and had lied down. If not for catching Juyeon staring at him he would've fallen asleep immediately so he waited. Waited for him to ask the question that seemed to linger on his mind.
“.. Hyung, do you want to put your head on my lap?”
Their eyes met and he repositioned himself so it’d be more convenient for the older when accepting his offer, adding: “I think it’d be more comfortable,”
His voice turned a bit smaller with each word that followed next. “But only if you want to,”
And who was he to say no when he was tired out of his mind?
As soon as his head was resting on Juyeon’s lap, Younghoon was gone. He wasn’t sure if it was just a dream but he felt a hand occasionally run through his hair ever so gently.
+
Juyeon is funny and endearing and nice company and was curious about everything he could get his hands on. He took Younghoon to places he never imagined he would have gone to before which was each time a refreshing experience.
“A good influence for you to go outside instead of shrimping at home,” is what Sangyeon called it.
Younghoon was proud to say that he built a solid friendship with Juyeon who might be rarely texting him first but when he did, it made him laugh to himself no matter where he was (yes, even if he was in the middle of the street).

I will think about it
That was a yes.
Juyeon would always say this and would come with Younghoon in the end.
It all went so well.
+++
Until one day Juyeon suddenly gave him a kiss on the cheek.
Younghoon almost let his drink drop to the floor, staring at the younger with wide struck eyes and a gaping mouth. He was just chatting about his puppy Bori and told him stories about his hometown and childhood, showing some pictures on his phone as they were huddled together on a park bench after taking a walk.
When he didn't know what to say, Juyeon increasingly grew fidgety and retreated a little.
”W-was that too much? I’m sorry-”
“Wha- Uh, huh? I just didn't expect it,”
Younghoon shook his head, putting his hands and phone back into his hoodie’s pockets because he didn’t know what else to do with them. Spring had fully rolled in with plants and flowers in full bloom but despite that some nights were still a little chilly outside.
“I wanted to tell you something, Juyeon-ah,”
"Huh?"
Younghoon scratched the back of his neck.
“I actually.. wanted to set you up with Jaehyun,”
It felt a little awkward after all these months to tell him about it but better than never. He had mentioned his best friend to him several times already so the name was not unfamiliar.
Juyeon just looked at him, lips parted.
He quickly cleared his throat to overcome the sudden quiet. “It just somehow didn't seem to work out all the time for you two to meet,” putting his hands together. “Because his mother got sick, he wasn’t much in Seoul..”
Not only that but Jaehyun started seeing someone else, surprisingly one of their high school friends so Younghoon’s entire plan backfired. He sighed.
“I wanted to tell you but it somehow kept slipping my mind,”
Why did he feel so bad?
For inexplicable reasons, Younghoon felt nervous about his upcoming reaction.
Juyeon's eyes dropped to the ground, wandering from one side to the other, seeming to process what had just been told. His big hands were resting on his lap.
“.. So this entire time you weren’t-”
He licked his lips, eyebrows creased.
“You just talked to me because of Jaehyun-ssi,”
His tone dropped and as far as Younghoon had gotten to know him his voice was laced with..
Disappointment? Sadness?
“I mean-”
“Y-you should've told me first when you kept asking me for my number,” he moved a bit away from Younghoon.
“It’s easily misleading, you- I-” Juyeon was clearly flustered, yet he also looked hurt. “I thought..”
But he didn't just get up and storm off like any other normal person would, branding Younghoon on his forever blacklist.
As soon as that possibility struck him, for Juyeon to dislike him and revert back to keeping his fifteen meter safety distance, Younghoon realized he absolutely didn’t want that to happen.
When did he begin to treasure this? Seeing Juyeon, continuously meeting him when he knew Jaehyun couldn’t make it. Why he found it so amusing from Juyeon’s ears turning red due to embarrassment to his either silent or loud laugh that was uncharacteristically high-pitched for someone with a usually deep voice. Surely the younger one was self-confident but in front of Younghoon he sometimes let that confidence slip up, becoming a lost deer which needed a guiding hand.
He started to want to protect him. To keep him.
Younghoon was undeniably curious as realization slowly found its way. Carefully taking Juyeon’s hands, he made a small and selfish request. “Look at me?”
Thankfully, there was no resistance, Juyeon listened and peered up at him with eyes that could guilt-trip even the coldest person.
“Do you like me?”
A flash of emotions crossed the younger’s face and then he tried to weakly pull away from Younghoon's hold, complaining when he was unable to because Younghoon wouldn’t let go.
His pink lips left a sigh when he slowly resigned.
“Don’t make fun of me, hyung,”
Yet he continued to inquire. "Since when?”
“Why are you asking that?”
It sounded more sharp but that didn’t deter him, the usual softness in his voice still audible so Younghoon went forward, closer, they were so close like never before that their noses were almost touching and he observed how Juyeon had held his breath.
“Since when, Juyeon?”
He repeated in a hushed voice, not missing how Juyeon's tan skin erupted into goosebumps.
The younger looked everywhere but into his eyes.
“I.. do,” Slowly giving in by biting his bottom lip and mulling over his answer. He was so easy to read.
“Yeah?”
Giving a small nod he mumbled.
“S-Since you assisted our professor for the constitutional law lecture,” red was reaching his neck by now which for some reason gave Younghoon the urgent need to run his fingers over it. Would the blush even reach his chest underneath that loose shirt of his?
But before he did something unreasonable aka giving in to the irrational urge to pull down Juyeon's shirt due to curiosity getting the better of him his brain decided to do its math and he blinked.
“What? That was like in the beginning of last semester,”
That was way before he even tried to chat up Juyeon to bother him about his number. It was when he noticed a tired and pretty boy sitting quietly alone in the corner of the lecture room, scribbling something on his notebook yet still attentively listening to whatever the professor and him were talking about.
Way before he caught him stealing glances at Jaehyun whenever Jaehyun and him were hanging out or..
So he believed.
Juyeon finally managed to make him let go and shuffled away- if this was an animation his head must’ve been steaming from how much blood had shot up.
“Ugh- This is your fault,”
He tried to cool off his cheeks with the back of his hand. “Anyways, I’m leaving,” while he was sulking, he stood from his seat and that made Younghoon’s heart beat just a little bit faster but more in alert than the fluttering way. Thankfully, a call of his name was enough for Juyeon to halt.
“Hyung-”
“You didn’t even let me finish,” and Younghoon’s voice turned soft, coaxing him to stay and not to run off again as he did all the time when Younghoon was being a nuisance in the beginning of their encounter. To listen to him just once to clear this foolish misunderstanding.
“You said you only talked to me because you wanted me to meet your friend and it didn’t work. I think that's all I need to know,”
The ever so sweet Lee Juyeon’s patience was slowly running thin and he wished he could tease him just a little bit more for it. But he shouldn't challenge his own luck at such an important moment, he needed Juyeon to know and hopefully forgive him.
With confidence Younghoon stood up, too and took his hand back into his own and when he felt no refusal he laced their fingers together, bringing them slowly up to his lips.
Juyeon was staring at him in bewilderment but he didn't pull away as Younghoon pressed a kiss on his knuckles. On a hand bigger than his own, tanned in comparison to his own yet such a contrast to Juyeon's gentle and soft self that not many people knew of, nor were familiar with.
“If you really like me, will you be mine?”
He nearly cringed at himself for uttering such a corny line but he had to make things clear before this would result in a horrible dramatic scenario.
Certainly, he watched way too many dramas for it to have come this far.
Juyeon’s hand was suddenly shaking, his cheeks flushed in a pretty shade of pink and now making him look less of a red panda than before.
He was unable to speak so the elder took the initiative to gently push back his long bangs, placing another kiss to his forehead.
The little shriek Juyeon let out made him bite his cheek.
Lee Juyeon was pure entertainment.
“W-what are you doing-”
“You kissed my cheek, no? I just want to return your affection,” Younghoon chuckled and wanted to dive in for another kiss but his lips suddenly met a cold surface which he identified with chagrin that it was Juyeon’s phone case filled with cinnamon roll prints.
This time he was the one pouting at the younger and it seemed to have an effect though it was not enough to completely lower Juyeon's defenses - Younghoon could tell by his tense stance but that was okay. Whatever words Juyeon was trying to put together in his head, he’d give him all the time he needed.
“Younghoon-hyung..”
He melodically hummed in response.
“.. Do you.. like me, too?”
That question with those innocent eyes looking right at him had him chuckling. Though he didn’t waste another second for more misunderstandings and instead, pulled Juyeon into a hug.
“I very much like you, Juyeon-ah,”
He said loud and clear for the other to hear, huffing another laugh as the younger buried his face into the crook of his neck, feeling heat radiating off it.
“I’m sorry for not noticing earlier,” An apology was due but he still wanted to hear it again. “What about you?”
There was no answer but Younghoon wouldn’t let that slide, breathing softly into Juyeon’s ear to have him flustered and it worked because his whole body jumped in his arms with a small gasp.
For always touching his own ears, they were quite sensitive.
“.. I like you, too,”
It was half a whine and half a complaint but that was enough because he saw the little and happy smile gracing his lips that Younghoon soon captured in a slow and tender kiss.
God, Juyeon was so cute, he must’ve been blind to not have noticed.
+++
“Wow, that's horrible,”
“Be quiet, Jaehyun, no one asked,”
Juyeon was cuddling into Younghoon, letting the older one lovingly scratch his chin and turning him into a literal putty right in front of his best friend and his roommate. One wouldn't have expected it but turns out Juyeon who usually preferred his personal space was incredibly needy for affection and reassurance from his loved ones.
He wouldn’t be lying if he thought that his boyfriend was a cat stuck in a human body who was always this very close to making soft sounds by the simplest touch which was insanely adorable.
“I’m glad things worked out between you two, though,”
Sangyeon walked into the living room with some cans of beer. “I always thought it was odd how Younghoon kept pestering Juyeonie, guess I was right,” placing them on their table.
Jaehyun cackled in his crow laughter to which Younghoon threw an empty bottle of soda at him - it was unfortunately caught.
“Hey, without me you would've never gotten together!”
Younghoon resisted the temptation to throw something else at him.
“Don’t take credit when you have done nothing, I noticed Juyeon first,”
“Rude when you only noticed him because you thought Juyeon liked me,”
“Ya-”
This was physical proof that Younghoon really meant it by calling Jaehyun a constant nuisance in his life.
“Can you not talk about me in third person when I'm right here?” Juyeon spoke up and looked to Sangyeon for help to please shut the two up but his roommate could only shrug and shake his head as if Younghoon and Jaehyun were a helpless case of idiots.
(he was not wrong)
And there was another surprise that had taken Younghoon aback. Turns out Sangyeon and Juyeon were friends yet he never knew about it and yes, Sangyeon didn’t even think of telling him before everything that went down.
And the shirt!
The shirt that Juyeon wore when they were hanging out in the containers was even Sangyeon’s which is why it looked so goddamn familiar. Also the sweater when they had their unofficial museum date was from his roomie. He knew he had seen those somewhere before though he would've placed it as coincidence if not for Sangyeon’s scent.
“It was quite obvious,”.
Juyeon's ears perked up at Sangyeon’s words, pretty eyes becoming curious and lingering at the eldest in the room.
The answer was provided without a single word needed to be said.
“He would usually just drop the case if it didn't work out the first time but he didn't give up on you,”
As Sangyeon passed by he ruffled through the youngest hair who squeezed his eyes shut out of joy at the loving gesture.
The internal sigh of Kim Younghoon.
Sometimes interactions between Sangyeon and Juyeon made Younghoon feel meh and indeed it had created their first ever argument - a serious one - as a couple but they managed to talk it out and compromised, somewhat .
As far as he knew, Juyeon had spoken with Sangyeon which is why his roommate was ‘showing consideration‘, not being all touchy-feely with his boyfriend when he was around.
He wasn't so sure if he should be thankful.
Though Younghoon felt sorry - he would never want to restrict his partner in any way, neither in friendships nor his freedom but something was just- Off .
That aside, maybe it was because Juyeon was normally a more unaffectionate person and didn't show his cute sides to others except for Younghoon who was his partner and surprisingly..
To Sangyeon as well, for inexplicable reasons.
So yes, he did find it odd how sweet they were towards each other but.. Whatever, he was getting used to it or he had to because they had always been that way.
So he was told.
In the meantime Jaehyun cracked another can open, speaking without thinking. “Haven’t seen Younghoon so whipped in a very long time,” adding that Younghoon’s past relationships were always short-lived and noticeably never anything serious.
“He never went out of his comfort zone for anyone, going out when he wasn't in the mood or trying out something new for them,” the brunette grinned.
“I could immediately tell that you are special to him,” to a degree that Jaehyun had never seen before.
Now Younghoon was the one who felt his cheeks grow hot. He usually wasn’t so slow but to not even be aware of that, not knowing when he began to develop feelings until Juyeon kissed him was almost embarrassing because everything his friend said was true.
Juyeon turned back.
“Am I, hyung?” Special .
And as if he could deny those feline and pretty eyes with full lashes and all shiny staring at him in expectation.
Younghoon sighed, unable to defeat his lover in any way possible. “Yes, you are,”
And the victorious cat-like smile that he was confronted with made it all worth it.
+++
Jaehyun later announced his leave, supposed to pick up his girlfriend from work to have dinner together so Sangyeon also got up with a cracking stretch of his back, glaring at Jaehyun who joked about his age.
“Hyung, do you also have to go?”
Juyeon had thought they all could spend a nice evening together, not expecting it to turn from minus one to minus two people.
And Sangyeon sent him a small smile, tugging a strand of black hair behind Juyeon's ear.
“I have an engineering class tonight, so I gotta. We can hang out next time, hm?”
He could only nod, disappointed but quick to have to accept it still and looking forward to the next time the elder was referring to. Meanwhile his boyfriend was returning from the bathroom.
“Alright, enjoy your couple time together~”
“See you two tonight,”
They bid them goodbye while they descended the long staircase before closing the door to the two-person dorm room.
As soon as it clicked shut, Juyeon wound his arms around Younghoon, in dire need of physical attention and thankfully his boyfriend would always provide for him happily.
This was how they ended up with Younghoon's room all to themselves, perfect for cuddling, kissing, and relaxing on their lazy day. They had decided early on that they didn't want to go out, preferring to spend quality time at home, initially with the others but now only as two.
“Say.. Why did you keep rejecting me back when I asked for your number?” Younghoon asked out of nowhere, glancing at him instead of the movie running on the small makeup TV.
The question caught him a little off guard because right, that happened, he nearly forgot about it. And about the truth - it was a bit embarrassing but surely he would understand if he told him.
Juyeon scratched his neck at the memory
“I thought you only wanted to mock me,”
The older one was watching, listening and it gave him reassurance to continue.
“I was scared it was some kind of bet between you and your friends, just to make fun of me in the end because I really liked you,” he admitted sheepishly, fingers playing with a loose thread of Younghoon’s shirt.
Juyeon had heard fellows talking, including the people who sometimes hung out with Younghoon - calling Juyeon pretty but annoying and arrogant, for not speaking to others.
His quiet persona that was often a little awkward in the beginning was easily misunderstood with his so-called ‘resting bitch face’ and hearing that made him isolate himself even more. It was easier when others approached him first he had learned, when they’d ask for help or anything and conversations would have an easier flow. The other way around became unlikelier the more time passed.
On top of it, he just had to fall for someone which was never part of his plan and being gay could draw more negative attention which did not help with his overall case.
Yet he couldn’t help it, his eyes were just naturally drawn to the sunbae acting as the professor's assistant that had somehow managed to grasp his interest within his first constitution law class, making him occasionally stare without realizing it until-
“I don't think you remember but we did talk before,” Juyeon leaned his head onto Younghoon's shoulder who seemed surprised. “We did?”
He nodded with a smile.
“You randomly asked me what book I was reading and we had a little chat until your friends came to get you,” but that was it.
That mere interaction had made him fall in love like a child but they never spoke to each other after that.
Although Juyeon had hoped Younghoon would come up to him again, it never happened and he was too insecure to take action himself, being plagued about the possibility that Younghoon's friends had some influence.
Later on in the following semester, whenever Younghoon and he made eye contact Juyeon would always quickly turn away, feeling as if he had been caught.
“I was scared you noticed my feelings and were trying to prove a point to the others,”
Now when his crush suddenly approached him, asking for his number out of nowhere, it felt wrong, like some sort of bad joke, especially given the way Younghoon did it.
“I didn’t want to get hurt, so I kept saying no,”
until he couldn’t anymore. He was seriously worried if Younghoon really wouldn’t have gone to the infirmary so he gave in to the stupid request but tried to be as nonchalant as possible back then.
Younghoon frowned.
“But Juyeon, I would've never made fun of you for your feelings,”
That made him roll his eyes in adoration, running a hand through his boyfriend's dark hair.
“I know now. Back then I couldn't help it though,”
Juyeon was thankful, moving closer to him.
“But you were also horrible, it was awkward and felt really unnatural,”
“I guess yeah, I seemed like a creep,” Younghoon admitted with a chuckle, so beautiful before he pulled Juyeon into a kiss which the younger returned with a breathy laugh.
“Hyung,” he complained giggling as the elder suddenly continued leaving tickling kisses around his neck, a pale hand trying to pull his white tank top further down to see more of his deliciously - so Younghoon called it - tanned skin. It was innocent at first so he let him do whatever, focussing on the TV.
Only until Younghoon managed to pull the loose fabric for his nipple to be exposed and that's when things began to shift.
“Ah, wait,” Before he could stop him his boyfriend leaned down, beginning to suck at his nipple, rolling it with his tongue. For the record, they are very sensitive, leaving Juyeon to gasp. “Hyung, no-”
“Why not?” Younghoon asked and ran his hands over his boyfriend's inner thighs, trying to spread them apart for him to settle in between them until he had Juyeon rendered against the wall, so there was not much room to escape to anywhere else.
Juyeon’s body moved like it was set up this way, pliant and spreading, flinching when Younghoon sucked harder at his chest, going at it almost as if he could produce milk out of them which drew out another lewd moan from the depths of his throat.
He pouted as his hands gently pushed the elder away, making rest on Younghoon's chest, breathing a little unevenly. “W-What if Sangyeon-hyung comes in?”
It was a fair statement when sometimes their friend did leave his class early because it got too boring or because he was too tired to listen to the professor's endless speech.
And Juyeon knew Younghoon understood his worry yet he still went to capture his lips with his own again, pushing closer for the younger to be sandwiched between him and the room's white wall. He couldn’t help but to give in though, groaning into the kiss and at this feeling, which spread a smile on Younghoon’s features. His lover knew how much Juyeon loved to be squeezed and squished, liking a pressuring weight on top of him and this had a similar effect.
His actions contradicted his understanding, but Juyeon knew his boyfriend didn’t stop because he simply didn’t care at the moment. Juyeon’s hunch was confirmed when Younghoon mumbled “Then let him,” but it was a little unexpected, how his own cock clearly twitched at what Younghoon just implied, doe eyes shaking slightly at the thought of Sangyeon finding them, watching them calmly, analyzing.
An amused smile crossed Younghoon’s handsome face, moving in for another kiss but this time with more vigor which was reciprocated because Juyeon’s body felt hot all over by then he had been successfully riled up.
Juyeon really couldn’t help it anymore, bucking his hips down to meet Younghoon with a barely audible whimper, brows furrowed in pleasure - he was becoming needy only after a few kisses and touches but it was too late to stop now.
When they pulled away for a breath, the elder latched back onto his neck, sucking a hickey around his mole, heaving him up to pull down his sweats and boxers in one quick movement. Younghoon took working out more seriously and it showed with how much ease he managed to do so and that was just so hot.
“Nnh,” Juyeon could feel his hard-on against his rear, almost salivating at the thought of what was about to come.
“Would you like him to see us?”
Younghoon was mean to ask this with such a sweet smile but Juyeon kinda trapped himself by offering it on a silver plate with the reactions he was giving.
Juyeon might really do at this point but still whined.
“No, we shouldn't..”
He clearly didn't mean it though:
The push was too weak, the look in his eyes was giving away and if he was being honest, he was inviting Younghoon with his parted lips, with his legs that were wrapped around his waist, with Juyeon's big hands holding onto Younghoon's T-shirt, begging for him not to let go nor pull away.
Younghoon had him right where he wanted and Juyeon shuddered at the hungry gaze that was directed at him.
“I think you are lying,”
+
“Hngh-”
Younghoon let out a shaky breath, hugging Juyeon close from behind as he left kisses over his back.
When he heard the younger hiccup, he whispered against his damp skin, kneading the soft flesh of his round ass. “I’m sorry, Juyeon,”
Juyeon was holding onto the cushion underneath him in a death grip, having already stained the sheets with spurts of white but had let Younghoon continue to fuck into him.
“Hold on just a little more, baby,”
At first the elder was hesitant about it - when Juyeon asked him to continue even if he'd make any signs of pain or tell him to stop. It was a given to never wanting to hurt his love but by the end he lost himself and gave in to the overwhelming pleasure.
With desperate sounds leaving Juyeon's lips and the sight of his red hole twitching with want, he couldn’t help himself but to grip the younger's waist tight, roughly pulling him back onto his cock with each thrust. “Noo- too much, too much-”
Younghoon might have discovered a new side of himself that he found startling. He found joy in Juyeon’s muffled cries and mewls, in the way his body was trembling differently in his embrace than usual, beautiful broad back with slim waist arching deeper than usual, trying to get away from him but unable to.
His hand suddenly slipped when excitement ran through his veins, wanting to test the waters, his palm harshly coming down onto Juyeon's ass that caused Juyeon to cry out in pleasure based on how he tightened up around Younghoon's length.
Oh.
Did he really have sadistic tendencies?
There was not much time to dive into it deeper, instead he harshly bit down onto the back of Juyeon's neck as he came, leaving the younger one desperately gasping for air.
Right then Juyeon shrieked and tried to thrash around but was held down by Younghoon when he began to fist his leaking cock in earnest.
“Hyung, hyung- no, no, can’t, ah- cum- cumming,” and Younghoon wished he could've seen his face as he climaxed the second time with a choked off sob.
Carefully pulling out with a hiss and throwing the condom into the trash can that stood beside the bed, he moved swiftly to be back by his boyfriend’s side, rubbing stimulating but gentle circles on his spasming thighs. And very slowly, Juyeon was letting go of all the built-up tension, relaxing with soft whines and whimpers into the elders' touch. Attentive to his breathing as it evened out, Younghoon carefully helped him turn around, running a hand over his stark black hair to share a more slow kiss, taking his sweet time for their tongues to meet.
“Are you okay? Did it hurt?”
He wiped away some drool that had run down Juyeon’s chin with a warm cloth they had prepared beforehand, searching for any signs of pain.
“No,” His lover swallowed thickly,
“‘was just a'lot,” Juyeon mumbled as their lovemaking was usually more on the soft and tender side. But there was a tired smile on his lips, happy that Younghoon was taking care of him with warm towels and soothing touches and so very mindful of his well-being.
“But did you like it?”
Younghoon asked against his cheek just to be safe after he wrapped them both in blankets, cuddling under the warm rays of the setting sun.
Juyeon leaned into his body, kissing his jaw and nodded with a happy sigh.
“Mh,” it was a surprising confirmation.
“I didn't tell you but.. sometimes I like this?” he giggled a little bashfully, making Younghoon nearly melt away.
“You can do it again sometime if you also liked it,”
Noted. 100%, definitely noted.
Younghoon’s fingers brushed over the bruises he left on his flawless skin.
“Next time I want to see your face,”
Juyeon made a noise of disapproval at the suggestion.
“No, I will probably look like a mess,” he grimaced.
A mess for him didn't sound so bad. “But I like that?”
His pretty boy scoffed. “Pervert,”
No objection.
The claim of Kim Younghoon being a pervert was left undenied as they shared another kiss towards the night.
+++
They may have forgotten about the possibility of Sangyeon coming home at some point. And he did.
When he found them stark naked and needily making out while it was already reeking of sex and heat in their room, the eldest was done because this was not the first time. Sangyeon would usually leave them be and take a walk because he was being nice - though he luckily never walked in on them actually having sex but more like the preambles.
He even spoke up to Juyeon about it alone, who apologized with a red face filled with guilt and as if he could be upset about it anyways.
Though after a tiresome day, the current circumstances spoke differently so he decided to file a complaint, knocking loudly against the door that he had already closed behind him.
The sound made them quickly pull away from each other, two pairs of big eyes staring at him in shock as if it would be so unlikely to happen one day. “Hey,”
It was incredible how cool-headed Sangyeon was about it, instructing them to go wash themselves and either stop or leave to act on their primal instincts somewhere else.
“I literally don't care what you do when I'm not home,”
Sangyeon had his arms crossed and looked very intimidating.
He meant it, they could do the most dubious things in here without his presence as long as it was all consensual and as long as Juyeon would not get hurt.
“But don't you dare fucking in the shower while I'm right here,”
Juyeon was somehow less embarrassed about it than Younghoon, who wanted to turn into dust and had already zoomed into the bathroom.
Meanwhile the youngest stood in front of Sangyeon, gnawing nervously on his bottom lip and Sangyeon tried not to think too much of Juyen’s semi-hardness dangling between his thighs.
“It’s okay, Juyeon,” Sangyeon assured to stop him from wrecking his brain to find a way to apologize.
He reached out and rubbed his thumb around Juyeon's hip bone to soothe the younger’s worries. “It happens,”
Juyeon was only then suddenly becoming aware of the situation, blushing furiously because he was still very naked but it was alright - it was only Sangyeon after all - ignoring the heat that spread through his body at the touch of his dear friend.
Trying to push down his inner conflict because he didn't know how to deal with it yet, he nodded with closed eyes.
I wanted you to see.
See what you would do.
So he quietly headed to the bathroom to join his boyfriend whom he had to calm down, this time with innocent kisses and showers of love and reassurance, laughing in the end at how adorable Kim Younghoon was.
+++
Sangyeon could only roll his eyes at the couple as they returned all dandy and clean with a neverending apologizing roommate and an amused Juyeon who both had fresh clothes on that the eldest was kind enough to provide.
“This is so embarrassing,”
Younghoon groaned and covered his entire face with both hands which made the oldest chuckle.
Juyeon in the meantime pulled his boyfriend onto Sangyeon’s bed, snuggling close to Sangyeon and keeping Younghoon stuck to his other side, lovingly patting his back.
“Don’t think too much about it, I saw that more than often,” he casually said with a shrug of his shoulders and a tired expression.
“Say what?!”
“Not fucking but very close to?”
“Hyung, don’t tease him,”
Juyeon laughed, grabbing the remote that was lying in front of him to put on a streaming app.
Younghoon was devastated and could not understand how relaxed the two could be about this but movie night as three still happened so Juyeon was a happy bean squished between the two of his favorite people by the end of the day.
What an end.
