Chapter 1: A Sad Moment, A Great Post

Minori's heart painfully ached as she just registered what happened the last few hours. She has gotten into an argument with her girlfriends, well not anymore, after they got into that argument. She sobs at that thought, Haruka-chan, Airi-chan, and Shizuku-chan, they all broke up with her and they seemed so angry at her.

 

She thought about how it got this way, was it her, was it something else? They would have to announce this her idol brain thought, and she sniffled loudly, she didn’t want to announce it because that’s when the break-up would be permanent, and then the hateful comments would come after her.

 

Minori decided to sleep, she couldn’t deal with it all now, but her thoughts kept her up. She had her lucky break, being with More More Jump! and being with Haruka-chan, Airi-chan, and Shizuku-chan, but then her unluckiness struck, and now it’s her fault that they broke up with her . 

Minori let out another broken cry as she drifted off to sleep thinking about what ifs and not. Suddenly a notification chirped out from her phone. She opened her eyes curiously to see what it was.

 

Minori saw an announcement from Twitter, she opened it, and a tweet popped up announcing that “Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc” was finally released. She sat up a little in her bed at that statement.

 

She had been wondering when it would be released and this was the moment. Minori had stumbled upon the trailer for Danganronpa and thought that the premise was intriguing and followed the Twitter for announcements.

 

She decided that there was nothing better to do then either sleep or watch the first few episodes or so of Danganronpa, and she was so excited for this before the break-up and maybe it would alleviate her pain a bit.

 

She paid and downloaded the whole entire show and nestled into her blankets to watch.

Her eyes sparkled as she nearly yelped as when the horrible Ultimate Despair herself Junko Enoshima was punished by The Ultimate Punishment. She felt connected with Makoto, even if he was the Ultimate Lucky Student, he almost had her kind of luck, and he was the Ultimate Hope, something that she hoped to spread to anyone!

 

Overall her favorite characters were Makoto, Kyoko, and Byakuya, even though they were basic, to her Makoto and Kyoko were the ultimate examples of hope, and Byakuya for his funny antagonistic ways.

 

Minori made an impulsive choice to make a certain tweet after binge watching the whole entire series to feel better from her break-up. So at the totally good time of right then and now she posted.

“Gah! I have to get to school!” she muttered under her breath. 

But then she thought again… today was Sunday! She was safe, and she didn’t have to meet up with her, Minori flinched, ex-girlfriends.

Chapter 2: Afterwards...

Summary:

After tweeting, Minori has to go to school.

Minori wandered around the Danganronpa website looking around for something to stave off her boredom. Clicking around she realized that she hadn’t told anyone about her breakup, and even though she didn’t want to think about the prospect of her not being together with More More Jump, it would be awkward for one of her friends to mistake them for still being together.

 

She also realized that since they had made their relationship on livestream, More More Jump’s chat would still think of them together and had to announce that. What luck she had, huh.

 

Minori debated telling Kohane and Shiho about the breakup, but cringed at the thought as Shiho was sisters with Shizuku, and even though Shizuku would have told her, she wouldn’t take it well. Well, I guess I have to text Kohane about it… maybe later though… maybe in person…

 

“Would probably be better to tell Kohane in person,” she muttered.

 

Now Minori had nothing to do but think about Danganronpa. It was funny how Makoto and her were similar yet different, well his in game persona. Both she and Makoto yearned to spread hope to everyone. But Makoto probably has a better chance and way to do that because of his obvious plot device, she was just… incompetent.

 

No good properties of herself. She was a klutz, and couldn't do anything right. Everywhere she went she caused problems for herself by being herself. Especially something bad about herself was her luck. It only caused her inconveniences and problems. Like when she wanted to get a drink but it was all sold out, or when a car splashed muddy water onto her, or when someone bumped into her and caused all her homework to go flying.

 

It was no good. She was no good. Never having enough good luck. Always having plenty of bad luck. She would only wish that bad luck would amount to something good, like her meeting Haruka, and Shizuku, and Airi. But look where that ended up now… she really was a mess.

“You think Hanasato Minori would be a good fit for this character? They’re the only character that we have a set name and personality for,” they questioned “This character is going to be a big antagonistic driving point in our series, and we don’t know how she would react to the character.”

 

The other man laughed, “She did want to have a part in this, and think about this, in the idol group she’s in, she quotes that she has bad luck all the time. Why not give her some good luck to match. It’s perfect for the character we’d give her!”

 

“Yes but the character is male, and looks pretty far off from her… do you think she’ll really accept it?”

 

“I’m confident she’d do it, plus we do have some good benefits for our actors and actresses!”

 

“If you say so…”

“I know so.”

 

“But when would we give Hanasato Minori the opportunity?”

“When we plan out more of the storyline and have some people we want for the cast. We don’t want to be too hasty now.”

I feel like a mess right now… Minori was getting ready to go school right now. It was now Monday. I wonder how long I can avoid Haruka-chan and the others? She pet Samo-chan and headed out.

 

Walking quicker than usual, having remembered to tell Kohane, and maybe Shiho about the breakup. It wouldn’t do her any good to not tell Shiho, but she was still nervous. Entering the classroom she greeted Kohane tiredly, and saw that Shiho wasn’t here.

 

“Ah, hi Kohane!” she grinned.

 

“Minori-chan, you don’t look so good,” responded Kohane.

 

Minori frowned, then started, “About that… I wanted to tell you that I broke up with the rest of them…”

 

Kohane gasped, then started to comfort Minori, “I don’t want to ask why just in case you don’t want to talk about it, but I hope you feel better!”

 

“Thank you Kohane-chan…”

 

Suddenly Shiho came in and Minori started to hide a bit in her own arms. She kinda didn’t want to talk about it to Shiho because of Shizuku.

 

Shiho suddenly started, “I’m not mad, Minori.”

 

Minori was startled at that, surprised.

 

“Shizuku was being kind of… dumb for that,” Shiho patted her back, “I hope you feel better.”

Minori was more than surprised at that, she thought Shiho would be a bit… angrier at her, but she responded, “Thank you, Shiho-chan… ah, class is starting soon!”

 

Shiho got to her seat and sensei walked in, ready to start the lesson.

“Oh! I finished this series that came out. I was waiting for some updates and it came out yesterday!”

 

“It’s cool that you finished the series that you liked, but you said you just finished it but… it was released yesterday?”

 

“Minori-chan, uh, did you binge watch the whole entire thing? Aren’t those series kind of long?”

 

“Yeah, yeah, it was only ten hours though Kohane!”

 

“Did you get any sleep?”

 

“Of course I did Shiho!” Minori laughed awkwardly at that, “Like 4 hours! That’s definitely enough!”

 

Shiho and Kohane sighed at that, seeing how Minori probably needed a distraction though they just shook their heads.

 

Kohane suddenly questioned, “What’s the show called?”

 

Visibly brightening Minori spoke out, “Oh! Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc!”

 

Shiho was searching that up on her phone, and showed Kohane and Minori the description.

 

“Seriously Minori? A killing game show?”

“Hey! But Shiho it was really good! I really liked this one character called Makoto!”

 

Kohane searched that name up too. She did like that the actors didn’t have to change themselves much for the show and the results that came up were his acting things and his character page, though there wasn’t much on it since the show came out a day ago.

 

“The Ultimate Lucky Student, huh,” Kohane giggled, “That’s cool! Is that why you like him so much, Minori-chan? Because he spreads hope and is lucky?”

 

“Pretty much!”

 

Shiho rolled her eyes playfully as she stood up. Minori pepped up and so did Kohane, they all realized that lunch was ending soon and they had to go back to their class.

Chapter 3: The Response...

Summary:

The response to the last chapter

Having narrowly avoided Haruka during school hours, she sighed. It was time to go to the rooftop and Airi and Haruka had probably planned the announcement of breaking up with Minori. If not, well Minori would have to tell them that it was needed.

 

Stepping out to the rooftop she avoided the gazes of the three of them. She noticed Shizuku and Haruka reaching out for her but stopped. Airi started to speak.

 

“We probably have to tell our viewers about the, uh, breakup of you… we could, ah, cut practice today”

 

Minori responded as lightly as possible, “I know that Airi. Thank you for cutting practice today,” she hesitated, “It might be a little awkward you know?”

 

The three of them stared at her while Minori started to squirm a bit.

 

Minori spoke nervously, “Well let's get started shall we?”

After the livestream Minori immediately packed up and went home. It seemed that the general response was empathy and pity. She didn’t deserve the pity though, she was just worthless in that way.

Haruka sighed as she looked through her phone. Her heart felt emptier… she hadn’t meant to get into a fight with Minori, she didn’t expect Airi and Shizuku to back her up… she didn’t expect them to suddenly just break up with Minori like that. But she couldn’t fix that now, could she. Minori looked so… sad around Haruka and her other girlfriends and the blue-haired girl nor the rest could scrape up the courage to go backup and explain the fight to her, cowardice was common with them, apparently.

 

Clicking on a few apps, Haruka decides to click on Twitter, to see how the public reacted, or to see if Minori even used the app.

Haruka flinched back at that one. She expected hate directed at the three of them… not Minori. But it seems, for some reason, that all the hate was directed at their resident sunshine. Most of these tweets were hating the gray-eyed girl so vehemently… plus that one tweet asking for the idol to… kill herself. Haruka knew that the idol industry was bad, especially so for Minori… but all of this. Maybe she should be off the internet for a while.

Airi and Shizuku were at Airi’s house, the pink one’s siblings away for the day. Both of their bodies seemed so drained. Too exhausted to do anything but lay around, moping. Shiho had been looking at Shizuku, oddly concerned and told her to get over to one of her girlfriends’ houses.

The teal-haired girl starts to speak up, “Why… how did we get into that fight..?” She starts to tear up, rubbing at her eyes softly, “a-and we were ganging up on Minori… w-why?”

Airi exhaled sharply and rubbed her forehead, attempting to get this weird feeling out of her head, “I don’t know Shizuku… I truly don’t know…”

They both come to an understanding to just be quiet and enjoy each other’s presence for now, but both of them got a nagging feeling to check online, just to see if Minori had posted anything recently.

Scrolling past what seems to be some random posts about something she got into… Danganronpa..? It didn’t seem to be that important, disregarding the mind-boggling amount of likes. There it was… a tweet regarding the, Airi flinched, breakup.

Shocked, Shizuku nearly sent out a growl in anger at the offending tweet. Minori killing herself? That was just… the teal-haired girl never felt a kind of anger like this before. She couldn’t believe that somebody would even have the nerve to send this.

Airi had felt an undeniable rage at the tweet. Attempting to calm herself and Shizuku down, however, was hard. Airi exited out of Twitter and put the phone down. What was all of that… the pink-haired girl wouldn’t know.

“Look at all of this hate! You think that the girl would really accept the role?”

“Well, the opportunity to get away from this all would be a good motivator,” the voice paused, then started up again, “You know what would be funny, if we gave out the role to Minori within the next two days.”

“Of course! When have I ever been wrong on my assumptions?”

“We aren’t going to talk about the time I got into Alien Stage, nor the glitter incident.”

Chapter 5: A Choice Offered, A Chance Accepted

Summary:

Minori was approached by a special someone.

 

It seems that Haruka, Shizuku, and Airi are a bit... guilty. And something feels rather... off about Minori.

Early in the morning, the sun rises, birds start to chirp and chatter, a knock on the door is heard. For once, Minori is awake early, Samo-chan having woken her up, and deciding to walk him around the block before coming back. The auburn-haired girl was making herself breakfast at the time.

 

Hearing the knock, she started to wonder, “H-huh..? I wonder what that knock could be?” She stood up from the chair, and went to answer the door.

 

A tall-ish man stood right outside of the doorframe, with a warm smile on his face. He then spoke up, “You are Hanasato Minori, correct?”

 

Minori, confused about what he was doing there, nodded her head. “A-ah..! Yes, that’s me! May I know why you're here, mister?”

The red-haired man let out a chuckle, sheepishly scratching the back of his neck. “Ah, sorry, I’m Sakamoto Yutaka, sorry for not introducing myself earlier!” He recomposed himself and addressed Minori’s question, “I’m here to scout you for a show that we’re working on, you might know the name, Danganronpa!”

Hearing the name, the grey-eyed girl nearly jumped up with stars in her eyes. “Really!! Me, a role in Danganronpa?!” She then shook her head, “Wait, hasn’t Danganronpa practically ended..? Sure they have to face the outside world, but they defeated Junko, right?”

 

Grinning with his teeth he excitedly whispered to her, “Here’s the exciting part, it’s not over yet! If you decide to join, I can tell you more, but we want you to join us for Danganronpa: Goodbye Despair!”

The shorter girl tilted her head a bit, weighing the decisions in her mind. Join her favorite show so far, but she would have to lessen her appearances on live streams for More More Jump! even go on a hiatus! But either way, most, if not all of the hate was directed at her, Hanasato Minori, rather than her other idol mates. Plus, the break-up… Minori didn’t think she could face them for longer than necessary, plus with the hiatus she would inevitably take when taking the role, and her being gone from the live streams would lessen the hate against them. The answer was clear.

Looking up, the vibrating girl said her answer, “Yes, Sakamoto-sama, I would like to accept your invitation to join on this project!” She bowed down, “Thank you for scouting me in the first place!”

 

The blue-eyed male, also vibrating with joy, spoke up, “No worries! We’ll contact you later!” he laughed a bit, “Don’t worry, you can just call me Yutaka!”

During lunch, Haruka was alert, more so than usual. She was sitting around with Airi and Shizuku, and she knew that Minori was not likely to come. They had hurt her, they saw it with their own eyes. The pain in those grey eyes, the tears nearly falling. But for some reason she was looking around as if she’d come by, sitting with them regardless.

 

Minori was weighing her options. She didn’t want to hang out with her fellow idols more than usual, but it was their regular thing, if she wasn’t with Kohane and Shiho. With a sigh, she followed her heart and not her brain by walking over to the tree that they usually sat under. Composing herself, she slapped on a smile and put a little sunshine in her voice.

 

“Ah! Haruka, Airi, Shizuku! There you are!”

…

 

Haruka had seen the auburn hair in her peripheral vision, but she wasn’t sure if she would even enter the area of the tree, nor did she think she would even call out their names. Shocked, she was actually stumped on what to say. Haruka heard Shizuku speak up instead.

Shizuku’s eyes widened “A-ah, Minori-chan! There you are, we weren’t expecting you!” This was…unexpected, since their fight and breakup in the end, she didn’t even expect Minori to show up. But even if they broke up with her, she felt warmer with her there, more full. But after what they did, did she even deserve to feel that way around Minori anymore?

 

The grey-eyed girl grinned, “Ahaha! Do ah, do you all mind if I eat here today? Shiho-chan is with her band, and Kohane-chan is volunteering in beautification for this lunch period…” She rubbed the back of her neck sheepishly, “So, ah, if it’s not any trouble, do you mind if I eat lunch here..?”

 

The teal-haired girl paused for a second, not debating saying yes or no to Minori, she would always say yes, but she felt…off. She knew that the break-up would have an effect, but it was almost as if the girl didn’t want to be here in the first place, but she brought herself here. But right now, Shizuku would accept any request Minori made.

 

“Of course Minori-chan! We wouldn’t mind at all!” Shizuku sent a quick grin and glance to Airi and Haruka.

 

Airi nodded, “Yeah, we don’t mind, Minori, sit down if you want,” she sent a quick smile.

 

Haruka looked conflicted, she didn’t want her presence to give more grief to the girl. Still looking back at them, she accepted regardless, “Of course, Minori, you can eat lunch here,” and sent a small smile.

 

The deep blue-haired girl noticed something was off, she seemed more… nervous? That part would be obvious, but there was something else… maybe, just maybe, she would tell them, tell them.

 

…

 

Airi noticed something weird. Minori was texting someone? She leaned a bit closer to look at the messages.

The third-year was surprised, who exactly was this “The sun is red” person, Yutaka? Seeing as Minori is referring to so formally, and that the person was referring to work, she suspected that the person was older. But, still, it was weird that Minori was talking about a time to meet. Very… strange.

The grey-eyed girl walked around the location Yutaka-sama… Yutaka-san sent in earlier. The tall redhead noticed her and grinned, walking up to her. “Yo! Hanasato-san, you’re here!”

 

The girl’s eyes widened and shook her arms a bit, “Ah, Yutaka-san, please don’t refer to me so formally,” she giggled a bit, “Just Minori is fine!”

 

Yutaka straightened himself up just a bit, “Oh, did your parents drop you off just now? I contacted them earlier but got no reply, maybe I can talk to them now, Minori?”

 

Her expressions darkened a bit, before looking up seemingly brighter, “My parents didn’t drive me here, they’ve been quite… busy for a bit. I drove myself here!” She rubbed the back of her neck, “I don’t know whether or not they’d answer, they use their work emails more than their personal ones anyways…”

 

The blue-eyed man frowned, and crouched down, “They’ve been leaving you by yourself?” He picked up a little sentence in her statement, “You drove here yourself? You’re what, sixteen? The age to get a driver's license is 18. Do you have a motorcycle?”

 

The girl was quiet, then shook her head. Yutaka immediately looked worried, she apparently drove here herself, how would she even get the license? Faked her age? He looked back on his memories, Yutaka remembered when he was sixteen… he did the same thing, his parents were never around, and he wasn’t sure if his parents would even get him a motorcycle to get to and from school. He had to fake his age in order to get to school in a timely manner.

 

He shook himself back into reality, the present. This girl, sixteen, drove here with no signs of parents being home, nor responding to his emails regarding her acceptance of the role. Maybe… just maybe he could help her out.

 

Yutaka spoke up, “Hey, it’s fine. We’ll just be discussing some things real quick! As you know, the actors in Danganronpa keep their personalities and names,” he held a wistful smile, “But I have a feeling that you want a new start, don’t you!”

 

Minori looked up, eyes shining. Yes she did want a new start. She wanted to be free of her thoughts. “Mhm, yeah, I do. I just… I think I should be someone different than me.”

The tall man softly smiled down at her, “I think that you’re great even as you. We noticed you. But I know that you want something different, completely. A bit free from the shell, the expectations of the normal you. How do you feel about being a character we nearly completely planned for?”

 

The grey-eyed girl looked confused, she muttered a little “huh”?

 

Yutaka chuckled a bit, “Yes, a bit different from our normal schick, I know. The character’s name is Komaeda Nagito. Male. Rather tall, grey eyes and a little sick. He believes in hope, and has rather different morals than everyone else. Different ideals.” He paused, “Sure, you might not fit exactly into that, but with some time, I think that you can fit great as Nagito, what do you think, Minori?”

 

Minori paused, someone completely different, a new person. But, if she changed herself, would she feel satisfied? There are expectations for these roles too but… Minori knew. “Yutaka-san, I do want to be Komaeda Nagito, thank you for this… truly, thank you!”

 

He smiled at her, ruffling her hair a bit, “Nice to have you on! Though training for this role might be time consuming… you think you can work with that?”

 

She grinned, “I already take the credit’s course in the academy, plus I don’t think many people would care if I took a little “hiatus” from More More Jump! in these times…!” She paused, speaking a bit softer, “Really, Yutaka-san, thank you.”

Sakamoto Yutaka, tall redhead, blue-eyed softy, sunshine of the company, grinned as wide as he could, and thought back to himself back then. There but not parents, having to constantly keep up a lie, putting himself in compromising situations to fit into the standards of others. He might be putting Hanasato Minori into this all, but he knew, maybe with a little support, she can grow into something much greater than himself, than Sakamoto Yutaka.

 

Hansato Minori, average brunette, grey-eyed sunshine, the weak link of her More More Jump!, smiled as hard as she could, and thought of herself now. Maybe her parents weren’t there, maybe she felt as if there was too much pressure on her. She was putting even more pressure on herself now, having herself live a lie, fitting into standards… but these standards were for someone different, a new person, an escape. She might be facing the storm by herself but… she can hide away, have fun, and be different from Hanasato Minori, maybe she could truly be Komaeda Nagito.

“I swear I held back those urges to adopt her, she was so… so… I don’t know,” he groaned.

 

“She reminds me of you back then, you know. She really does, Yutaka,” the other man chuckled.

 

“Whoa! Look at Mr. Grumpy Face here being a little soft for me! First time I’ve ever seen it,” Yutaka laughed.

 

“Tomato hair, get back to work,” he deadpanned.

 

“Wahh!!! Yuuto, don’t be so prude! It’s just that Minori seems so…” Yutaka floundered around a bit.

 

“Lost,” Yuuto stated, “Like you back then, as I’ve been saying, get back to work ketchup head.”

 

Yutaka sighed, “Hah, I guess I really should get these files down. Minori was the only one that I approached. The scouts ought to get the others, I just need to get these final plot points done… then the actors can improvise and add on it!”

“Hurry up, you don’t have all week for this,” Yuuto flashed a glare, “I already did half of it for you, so get working.”

Yutaka breathed in… then coughed because he breathed in too much dust.

How'd you like this? I'll admit, I kind of bullshitted this through, and uhhh rushed this in like 2 hours, because I felt motivation after seeing a youtube short of Minori saying Nagito's special line, (I SWEAR IT'LL BE IN ONE OF THE CHAPTERS, YOU MIGHT HAVE TO GUESS THE QUOTE THOUGH!!)

Chapter 6: A New Beginning, A New Dawn

Summary:

It seems that Minori has taken a hiatus. And moved into headquarters, let's see what happens!

The next day comes quickly, too quick in Minori’s opinion. She had to break the news on going on a hiatus so she can have time to go on the show. But… it was her dream, her hope to become an idol, and now, going on a long hiatus after trying so hard to become one? Yes, she would, became too hated, and she wanted the others to shine as well, taking time off would surely be beneficial to More More Jump as a whole.

 

But either way, while she was getting ready, she wanted to prepare on how she would break the news on her hiatus from More More Jump. It would be logical to tell the others about her hiatus… but after everything, maybe Minori just wanted something over them. She’d explain it afterwards anyway… vaguely explain.

 

Shaking her head, she decided to text Yutaka-san, for his opinion on what she should do.

 

threeleafclover: Sorry to bother you Yutaka-san! I was just wondering how I would break the news of my hiatus to my idolmates…

After school ended, the grey-eyed girl hyped herself up for the livestream. It would be a song that they practiced over and over, a song of her feelings, Teammate. The lyrics… were rather ironic, now that Minori thought of it. “The knot between us will never come undone,” hilarious, especially after what happened recently, and a little more humorous after what Minori is going to announce after this.

 

Meeting up with Haruka, Shizuku, and Airi on the rooftop felt nostalgic, even though they had come up here just last week. A smile plastered on her face and she greeted them, “Oh! Haruka, Shizuku, Airi! Are you ready for this live stream’s song?”

 

The blue-haired girl looked a little startled and started a little awkwardly, “Yeah, we practiced this a lot, so hopefully it goes well.”

Airi nodded along, “This live stream will be a success, don’t worry!” She flashed a wide grin, “Well, if Shizuku here doesn’t bug out the cameras again, somehow.”

 

The aforementioned girl sent out a jokingly sad gaze at Airi, “Why would you bring that up again..?” She shook her head softly, “Airi-chan, do you really think that would happen again..?” Then brought her head down and smiled.

 

Airi panicked, “Ah! Shizuku, I was joking!”

 

Minori, standing there quietly, then spoke up, “Well, we don’t want to get off schedule too much, let's start it up!”

 

Haruka nodded, and went to start up the camera and the live stream’s chat, looking to see it afterwards. She set up the program, showed a thumbs up and stood back. The livestream had started.

 

Minori waved around a bit, acting like “herself” and being a grins and energy. She questioned if chat could see and hear her, and responses popped up.

Seeing the confirmation, Minori nodded and went to chatter around, though it’s more noticeable that she doesn’t talk to Haruka the most, and mostly interacts with chat than her idolmates.

 

Getting herself prepared, Minori exclaimed, “Okay! Today, we’re showing off a song that we’ve been practicing, we call it Teammate!”

 

Glancing back to chat, she sees a bunch of support… and hate, but she ignores it in favor of getting prepared to start singing.

 

…

 

Midway through the song, she laughs internally. It really was ironic, seeing how this song is about feeling determination to move forward despite worries. That was what she truly was going to do. Take a hiatus and move forward, even if she was coming back, she was moving forward with healing despite her worries with More More Jump. She would take the first step into healing, even if it was more pressure, if she wouldn’t be Minori there. Maybe through this experience, she would truly be an idol full of confidence, to continue onto another day.

The song is finally done, and they all bow to the camera and talk in unison, “Thank you for listening and enjoying our song!” 

 

While the others were going to check the chat and walk over there, Minori decided it was time. There was still anxiety in her stomach, her chest, her throat, she decided she was going to do it. “Ah, by the way! I have something uh, to announce!”

 

Puzzled, Airi paused in the monitoring of chat, and nudged Shizuku who was surprised. Haruka was already looking at Minori, and was shocked when she said that. To her awareness, there was nothing to announce.

 

Minori looked over to them, and gathered her courage and told her lie, “Recently, there’s been some… trouble that I’ve been having with my family. It’s going to take a while to resolve… so I’m sorry to say this but I’ll be going on a hiatus. I’m not going to be appearing in future live streams for a while,” she flashed a small apologetic smile, “I truly am sorry that I can’t be here for a while, but I simply can’t be here as my schedule won’t line up.” Her eyes then look over to check the live stream’s chat.

Haruka was feeling panic, all throughout her body. Minori… was going on a hiatus? The girl, her… love? ( Ignore the fight, ignore the fight, ignore the breakup, why, why, why??? ) Their hope, their sunshine, was… leaving? This… this couldn’t be, surely.

 

She saw Minori send out a goodbye to their fans, and saw Airi paused in horror, between looking at chat, or hearing Minori, she didn’t know which it was. Shizuku was shocked, surprised. Their reason for continuing their passion, their love, was leaving them, ( leaving, leaving, leaving!!) , going on hiatus. Was it because of family problems and scheduling issues? She could barely hear.

 

The pink-haired girl was frozen solid, and felt the fire inside of her, the rage, building and building. Who did the chat think they were? Hating on Minori like that? Airi knew that she was in the middle of denial, why would she go on hiatus so suddenly, it was their fault wasn’t it. Haruka and Minori fighting, then not helping, then breaking up with her. Her pool of fiery guilt will not cool.

Minori looked around awkwardly between the shocked veteran idols, and decided to end the livestream and elaborate for them. “I have some family troubles, and because of that, I’m not able to have a clear enough schedule, and with all that’s going on, I decided going on a hiatus is the best option for now…”

 

Starting to speak up, Airi questioned her, “Why didn’t you tell us earlier? Even just before the livestream?”

 

Looking around nervously, she couldn’t say that she wanted a little payback for the fight, so she just responded, “Well, we were going a little off time already, and I decided it would just be best to not be late and address questions later…”

 

Minori then added on, “Plus all the hate was directed at me anyways, anyone with eyes can see it. More More Jump as a whole is just as unlucky as I am, because I’m not going away permanently, just a hiatus… you guys would be more successful without me regardless.” She then went wide-eyed and decided, yeah, right now would be a great time to leave .

 

Shizuku and Haruka, still standing still and shocked, could not speak. The grey-eyed girl let out a hasty and quick goodbye to them too, and left.

 

They all looked at each other after she left and asked a question together in near unison, “What… was that? Why..?” They knew that they wouldn’t know just yet.

After leaving the rooftop, Minori decided to meet up with Yutaka-san at the location he sent her. Nervously looking around, she hopped into the car, started the ignition and drove off to the building.

 

Arriving at the building, it showed in big words “Danganronpa Headquarters”, and after parking, she went inside to meet up with Yutaka-san. To her surprise there was another man with him. He was rather short compared to Yutaka-san, yellow eyes, pink hair, and a stern look on his face.

 

Noticing her, Yutaka grinned and introduced the man next to him. “Haha! Minori, this is the guy that I added to the chat earlier, Tokushige Yuuto! Yuuto, this is our Nagito, Minori!”

 

Yuuto approached her and she bowed in greeting, and he followed after. He spoke up, “Minori-san, correct? As you know, I’m Yuuto. I’ll be here to help you with fitting into the role of Komaeda Nagito, and I’m confident that you don’t want to be known here as Hanasato Minori, correct?”

 

She nodded and responded in kind, “Mhm! So when I’m here, I’m referred to as Nagito? I’ll have to get used to that…” She rubbed the back of her neck sheepishly, “Also I heard that Nagito is male so would I have to change my appearance now, or does that come later?”

 

Yuuto shook his head, “That comes at your decision and leisure, but I would recommend getting started into your role earlier to get used to it. In a few, I’ll hand over the script so you can practice with it, and maybe you need more food, with protein,” he tried to joke, “After all Nagito is quite tall… and I’m not sure you can reach that height in a matter of days.”

 

She blushed, embarrassed, and smiled while speaking, “I won’t let you down! Ah, would I have anywhere to stay? Or do I have to commute back and forth from home?”

 

Yutaka nearly jumped up at that, knowing that her parents were barely there and that she drove. He did not want her to go through the same paranoia at getting caught that he had, so he let out a grin and exclaimed, “Don’t worry, we have some dorms here, and it would be more convenient to be here to help practice your role, Nagito! Anyways, let me show you there while Mr. Grumpy pants here get some of your work!”

 

She let herself get led away, and grinned softly as he referred to her as Nagito. It wasn’t that bad afterall, maybe even a bit comforting.

Over the next few days, Yutaka had helped Minori fit and craft the personality of Nagito. Self-deprecating, strange ideals, quite caring and easy going, obsession with hope, a bit maniacal, and intelligent. Minori got to choose the outfit design and started to exercise and eat more protein foods with (deluded) hope that she would get taller. Yuuto would always knock on her door to make sure she was sleeping properly and wasn’t obsessively reading over the script over and over again.

 

To all their collective surprise, Minori had a growth spurt. Not quite enough for the original height of Nagito, but she had grown from 159 cm to 170 cm in a little under a week. Minori cried out in joy at that.

 

Continuing on her acting skills, she was getting quite used to slipping into Nagito, it was almost like Nagito was another part of Minori, one that she never really tapped into. She felt… comfortable being referred to as male slipping into the binder, and felt comfortable being referred to as female… that confused her quite a bit. She decided to go to Yutaka about her predicament.

 

Walking up to him, Minori asked, “Yutaka-san… is it weird that I feel comfortable being referred to as female… and being referred to as male, as Nagito?”

 

Not expecting the question, Yutaka let out a little squeak, then seeing it was her, decided to respond, setting down the donut he was eating, “Well, no! You could feel comfortable being referred to as both! Do you enjoy being Nagito? Do you enjoy being Minori? I mean, you could be an enby, since you feel comfortable being both!”

 

“Being… both? Maybe… I think I like being both Yutaka-san…” She looked around awkwardly, “Is that really okay?”

 

Yutaka looked down at Minori softly, “Of course it’s okay, you’re you no matter what. Actually in that case, what do you feel like being referred to right now, since you're not practicing your acting!” He then ruffled the auburn hair.

 

Those grey eyes were in thought and responded, “Well in here I think I like being referred to most as Nagito and more male adjacent pronouns, but when I’m out, like at school, I like Minori more, and more female adjacent pronouns…” he nodded to himself and continued, “So right now, I feel like being referred to as Nagito, y’know?”

 

The tall redhead grinned at him and ruffled his hair again, “Well, Nagito, good job on affirming yourself, and you know what, I’m proud that you came to me for this! I’ll inform Yuuto, assuming that you want to rest! You have to get 8 hours of sleep after all!”

 

Nagito grinned back at him, and thanked him, and decided to go back to his room to sleep. Nagito thought to himself, maybe he really could get used to this.

“I’m serious Yuuto, I literally want to adopt him. He’s so adorable!” Yutaka was sobbing in joy in his office.

 

“Well tomato top, I do find Nagito to be quite endearing, but you're getting your papers wet,” Yuuto sighed, “Even though his parents, from what you told me, are rather negligent, I doubt that Nagito wants to split from them quite yet.”

 

“Nagito came to me! To me, to affirm their gender! I’m so proud!” Yutaka pounded his table, “This is the best moment in my life!”

Yuuto deadpanned, “Congratulations, it’s a child, now get back to work, the others are coming in a week. Hopefully we can get Nagito more into his role, and actually… maybe we should introduce more exercise, he seems to be bored of the current ones, maybe they can get more height with this.”

“Wahhh!!! I mean, yes, that does seem desirable!” Yutaka combed through his hair, put the pen in his hand, and immediately felt a shudder through his spine. Ugh, work.

Chapter 7: A Little Time for Fun

Btw there is going to be a switch of pronouns for Minori and Nagito, but Minori is she/they adjacent, and Nagito is he/they adjacent. They switch whenever he's in or out of headquarters/danganronpa.

In the quietness of his dorm, Nagito was practicing some of his lines. They cleared his throat and started to laugh crazily and maniacally spoke up, “The Ultimates are working together to combat the despair of their friend’s death!” He then took on a tone of admiration, “Ah, how wonderful, how beautiful it is!” Then he was interrupted by a little fluff of Samo-chan. Smiling he pet Samo-chan and fed him some treats.

 

Then he shook his head slightly, how awkward it is to do it by myself in my room… it’d be better to just have Yutaka-san or Yuuto-san be here and give me advice . It had already been a week, and while he had read through all of the basic lines, there was still much more to add with more people coming soon. Speaking of new people, Yuuto-san said that there would be two people coming in today. Nagito scrambled for his phone, and in the effort of grabbing, let it fall onto the ground. Surprised, he hurriedly picked it up and felt relieved to not see any cracks. What luck. He went to check the group chat that he was in with Yutaka and Yuuto.

Putting the phone away, Nagito sighed. He was really going to commit to the role. Shaking his head, he got his binder on, and slipped in, while getting into clothes that he really didn’t care about, after all, he was really going to dye his hair.

Sitting around in the living room, playing games with his phone, he resisted the urge to card his hand through his hair. It was near afternoon, and Yutaka had styled the hair to be more fluffy compared to his usual straight hair. It was also white at the roots too, while retaining its original color at the edges. He’ll admit, it looked pretty nice.

 

While setting their phone down to go grab a bite to eat from the kitchen, a slight holographic figure popped up from the phone and started to look around. Turning back from getting their bagels they nearly dropped it with surprise. “R-rin..? What are you doing here?!” Hurriedly rushing over to the phone.

 

Rin, surprised at their appearance exclaimed, “Waahhh!! Minori, what happened to your hair? Your look??” She looked up and down at Minori in muted shock.

 

Minori, not too startled by that question, quickly answered her, “Well, ahh, I had gotten a role in a show so I wanted to really change for it, uhm, so that!” She rubbed her forehead a bit, and asked Rin something, “Hey, what are you doing here so suddenly anyways?”

 

The virtual singer huffed and pouted at that, “You haven’t been visiting the SEKAI recently, and I heard from the others that you’re on a hiatus!!” She paused to take a breath and continued, “Of course I’d check in with you and make sure you’re doing well!!”

 

Minori laughed sheepishly at that, “Oh, I guess I really haven’t been visiting the SEKAI, uhhm, how about this. I’ll visit the SEKAI when the others aren’t around, but you or the others might have to tell me when it’s clear!”

 

“B-but why when the others aren’t around? Plus your hiatus!!” Rin didn’t mention that some parts of the SEKAI were becoming dull, less excitable.

 

The grey-eyed girl hesitated and stood silently for a bit. Rin, noticing her brooding demeanor, quickly backtracked on her words, “Of course, you don’t have to tell me. I’ll notify you when it’s clear. But you better swear to come to the SEKAI soon!!”

 

She smiled and agreed to visit the SEKAI in a timely manner. But she also hurriedly rushed Rin to leave, as they had to dress in nicer clothes for when Hajime and Chiaki come. When they mean nicer clothes, they mean a clean shirt, jeans, and a jacket, opposed to their slightly dyed t-shirt and shorts.

After cleaning up after himself and changing into something nicer, Nagito went out to take his car out and get some extra things he missed from his house before greeting Hinata Hajime-san and Nanami Chiaki-san. 

 

They started up the ignition and went home. It really felt weird now, since they were taller than usual, being able to reach things easier. Plus they didn’t have to be so paranoid about being pulled over, as their appearance looked taller and therefore older.

 

Arriving home felt like a blast from the past, even though it had just been two weeks. She knew that her little brother was staying at their grandparent’s place, as it’s just closer to his school, and well… their parents weren’t able to be home often. 

 

Grabbing the keys from her pocket and using the wrong key about five times, it’s not her fault Yutaka-san gave her six keys for half the rooms, and entering the house, she knew that her parents had barely been in here by the time she was gone.

 

Minori sighed and went up to her room, to see if she would keep some of her idol merch or not. Even though she had gotten… dumped, per say, by the others, she still held them dear to her heart. She couldn’t bear to throw away any merch either way. She put them gingerly in her bag and set off into her closet. Nearly all of the clothes wouldn’t fit her comfortably now, since she had grown a lot during those two weeks. So she decided to dig in her oversized sweaters.

 

Ruffling through the racks she saw an oversized, well kind of oversized now, otter hoodie that the others gifted her… and packed it. It was still one of her favorites regardless. Shuffling through the closet still, she got some jackets and shirts that would still fit her and left her room. 

 

To be completely honest, she didn’t expect to hear the subtle footsteps creaking up the stairs, and seeing her parents in the hallway… was staggering. All she could stutter out was a “Hello Okaa-san, Otou-san,” before freezing like a damn deer in headlights.

 

Her mother started to speak, “Dear goodness Minori! What have you done to your hair? It’s all white and messy now,” and sent a disapproving stare at her, “You look like a mess.”

 

Her father, though not as harsh as her mother, only commented on her height, “You’ve grown a bit,” he muttered.

 

Unused to seeing them, Minori shut out and panicked and shouted out a goodbye before booking it out of there. Knowing her parents wouldn’t run after her, she basically rammed herself into the front seat and drove off as quickly as possible.

Parking at the headquarters and running in felt like a fan on a hot day, relieving. They ran inside and huddled on the couch full of blankets, like a nest. It wasn’t like their parents hurt him no… it’s just that seeing them so unexpectedly after not catching a glimpse of them for so long… they just panicked. 

 

Committing those ugly thoughts into a box to unpack later, never , along with the other unsavory thoughts, why won’t you die, jump, die, why are you here??? Ahem, he went to put away the clothes he had brought from his old house.

 

He neatly packed the clothes away, and went to the bathroom to freshen up, well more like splash water on his face until he feels slightly more grounded, and went to Yutaka’s office to greet the new people.

 

Pasting on a smile, this felt familiar, and walking in to greet Yutaka. “Ah, Yutaka-san, how have you been?”

 

Yutaka laughed humorously then responded, “We saw each other just this morning! But you don’t look so good, do you want to talk about it?”

 

Nagito shook his head and just sat down in one of the chairs. “Uhm, not really Yutaka-san… it’s kind of, y’know,” he shook his hands as if to emphasize his point, “Eh.”

 

The redhead nodded while patting the top of Nagito’s head. He responded in kind, “Yeah, just know that I’m always here if you need it! Also Yuuto should be coming in just a few seconds now,” he grinned sheepishly.

 

“My ears were burning, was someone talking about me? Perhaps it was the tomato head over here,” Yuuto let out a small exhale, “Have you finished your paperwork?”

 

A small, nervous, trainwreck of a laugh was uttered and a skittish Yutaka was seen shuddering while holding a pen, totally having been doing work this entire time, “Ermm, Yuuto! Let me just ahh finish this one up, yes!” Then quietly slipped a huge pile into a drawer, “See done!”

 

The tired pink head pinched his nose and grumbled a small “whatever” and shifted to face Nagito.

 

As if suddenly feeling something off about Nagito he addressed him, “Hinata-san and Nanami-san are arriving in a few minutes. If you want to greet them you can, but you don't have to be here right now,” though it may seem from your expression that you intend to stay here regardless.

 

Nagito nodded. He really did want to greet them. Maybe everyone who came aboard their cast for the show! Maybe he was getting ahead of himself there…

 

Yuuto let out a tired breath and turned to speak to the both of them, “They're here.”

 

– KN – HM – KN – HM –

 

Nagito leisurely sat down on the plush chair, but stood up to greet Chiaki and Hajime. “My name is Komaeda Nagito, and you two must be…?” He trailed off letting them finish her sentence.

 

The brownish-pink girl spoke up, “I'm Nanami Chiaki, and this lump of grump here is Hinata Hajime.”

 

The tall brunette sighed and bantered back to Chiaki, “Hey! I told you not to call me that!”

 

“Well is it not true?”

 

“... I know what your secret alt account is and I am not afraid to leak it.”

 

Chiaki chuckled nervously before trying to quickly change the subject. “Uhm, you're the other actor here so far, I think,” she played with her fingers in her pocket, “Can you tell us more about yourself?” She smiled warmly.

 

Nagito, shocked that anyone would ask that, recomposed himself and responded in kind, “Well, I'm kind of into idols, ah, you might see my dog around here, his name is Samo-chan, er, I've been here the longest so I got my role already, the Ultimate Lucky Student,” he took a breath, “I mean it isn't really a true ultimate I guess, but it's there,” he grinned at them, “How about you guys?”

 

Straightening out his outfit, Hajime went first, “Ah, I'm not anything too special, I sometimes like playing games with Chiaki, and I've been told I’m good at counseling,” then nodded his head towards Chiaki to signal her to start.

 

She cleared her throat slightly and sent out a smile, “I like playing games of all genres, though I think that won't be of much use, I've been told that I’m a bit sleepy, and uh, that's it really!”

 

Nagito grinned at both of them and grinned, “I'm sure we’d get along greatly!”

 

The two of them nodded and smiled back at him.

 

Yutaka sent out a wide beam at them and turned to address Chiaki and Hajime. “Okay! I assume that you're staying here, seeing the email you sent out earlier! Yuuto here will show you to the dorms, and the three of you can talk later!” He paused as if to think, “Actually I think all of our cast will be staying at the dorms, and a certain Tsumiki Mikan will arrive tomorrow, and a good chunk will be arriving the day after!”

 

He then ruffled Nagito’s hair and talked to all three of them, “Since we have all of the people scouted and then being accepted, I think that we can send out the cast list out today, if that's alright with Yuuto!”

 

Yuuto rubbed his eyes and nodded, “Yeah yeah, that's good, now I'll lead you two to the dorms and Nagito, you can hang out around the living room.” He sent out a playful glare at Yutaka, “I saw the paperwork you didn't finish, get on it.”

 

“Right away!!”

 

The three of the actors sent out a small chuckle and walked out of the room together following Yuuto.

While Nagito was lounging about the living room, playing a game called Honkai: Star Rail or something like that Chiaki came in after setting up her dorm and noticed him.

 

“Hey…hey! Is that Star Rail?” She looked over their shoulder curiously, tilting her head.

 

He looked up from their game and nodded, “I started like a week ago when I was bored of lounging around.” He looked up at her, “You play?”

 

Her eyes light up like stars and she nodded rapidly, “Yup!! What characters do you have?”

 

He chuckled a bit and started to speak, “Well, uh I started playing in between version changes I think? So I got this my favorite so far Aventurine, uhm, I got a girl named Acheron too? I pulled a few times on this recent banner and got this dude named Sunday and someone named Jingyuan on the other. I think those are the special ones since they had five stars.” 

 

He paused in his rambling, “But when I did my first ten pull on Aventurine’s banner I got him like… 7 times or something, which I think is good? But after that I immediately tripped and fell onto Samo-chan and I didn't know how to apologize so..”

 

Chiaki had her jaw nearly to the ground, “H-huh?!” Then immediately begged them to pull on their account with puppy dog eyes. “Please, please, please!!” 

 

Hajime came in and saw Chiaki using her secret weapon and decided to sit next to Nagito and watch.

 

Chuckling, Nagito took her phone and pressed the 10 pull button, and immediately the excited girl could see that it was going to be a five star.

 

…

 

“H-huh?!” The two uttered in complete shock. Nagito had pulled 7 Sundays and a Bronya to boot in one 10 pull.

 

Chiaki immediately latched onto Nagito and spoke rapidly, “From now on you're going to be pulling in my banners, okay!”

 

Seeing no room for disagreement the grey-eyed boy immediately agreed good-naturedly, while Hajime was still in shock next to him.

The three of them were bored, and they had basically nothing to do but play games. Nagito, however, had an idea, and spoke to the other two, “Hey, what if we ask Yutaka-san what he likes and we can try doing it?”

 

The other two, with practically nothing on their hands, agreed, and let Nagito lead them to Yutaka’s office. It was a decent walk from the living room to his office, so they chattered, and Nagito was yapping about his dog.

 

They had finally reached Yutaka’s office and instead of knocking, Nagito just walked in to see Yuuto berating Yutaka and Yutaka looking like a mildly cowed dog. 

 

Nagito spoke quickly, “Yutaka-san, we're bored and we don’t have much to do today. Do you perhaps have something that you can recommend to us?”

 

Yutaka, looking at the three like they were his saviors, which they were, they were saving him from the wrath of Yuuto , and immediately spoke up while Yuuto stopped yelling at him, “Aha! Indeed I do. I personally enjoy the show Alien Stage, you can find it on YouTube, with subtitles though it’s in Korean!”

 

…

 

Sobbing was heard all throughout the living room. A screech of terror was heard as Hajime was chanting under his breath, “Till is alive, Till is alive, Till is alive,” and rocking back and forth between Nagito and Chiaki.

 

Nagito has been taking everything Ivan had said ever to heart, and scrolling through the Vivinos everything for Ivan content… they were such an Ivan kinnie now, he had to put some of those emotions, those moments into his actions during the show. They patted both of their backs as Chiaki was cursing at everything. 

 

A long string of cursing was heard around the room, Chiaki was whispering under her breath, “Hyuna better beat his ass, beat that btichass!!” 

 

A sliding door was heard and the three of them looked over to see Yutaka walking cheerfully and asking, “Well, Luka is my favorite, but overall isn’t this such a wonderful show!” 

 

A screeching noise is heard and both Hajime and Chiaki practically launch themselves at Yutaka, while Nagito is holding them by the back of their jackets. The girl was screeching, “Why!! Why did you get us into this! You like the dude that is obsessed with Hyuna?!” Hajime followed along, “Luka killed Till! That manipulator!!”

 

A sigh was heard as Nagito was calming them down, but Yutaka could see the tear marks that were there. Nagito shrugged his shoulders and sent a weak glare to Yutaka, “Luka manipulated them to see Ivan and Sua, my kins…” he pursed his lips, “But it was a good show, thank you Yutaka-san.”

 

– KN – HM – KN – HM –

 

“Yuuto~ they hate me!!” A thunk was heard slamming onto the desk.

 

“Well, maybe you got them into Alien Stage, which was your mistake, and now you're trying to get them to join you in suffering,” Yuuto rubbed the side of his head, “But, I’m sure they don’t hate you, maybe mildly dislike.”

 

A long stretch of silence with scribbling on paper is heard.

 

“Okay ketchup hair, I already did like two thirds of your paperwork, get back to work.”

“O-okay…” A shudder flew up his spine, man did he hate paperwork .

Anyways a lot of this chapter was just fluff, im bad at characterization, but like if you want to see more scenes just comment them!

Chapter 8: An Arrival?!

Summary:

A new person is at Danganronpa's Headquarters...

“Oh Nagito~! Hajime and Chiaki too!” Yukata’s voice came from the PA, he usually just chatted in the groupchat, so this may be more important than his usual tomfoolery. “Do come to my office~!”

 

Nagito immediately got up from his seat in the living room and stretched up. It was Sunday, the rest day from practicing his lines. He noticed Hajime in the kitchen prepping up something quick to eat for the three of them and groaning when he heard the announcement.

 

Hajime put his head into his hands in despair, “What is it nowwwww?” Chiaki nudged him on the side while dropping down and standing up from the counter.

 

“It’s probably a new actor coming in.” She racked her brain for who it was, “I think it was… Tsumiki Mikan-san?” Chiaki shrugged, “I think the rest of them are coming into headquarters tomorrow, some of them aren’t going to be staying in here though, unlike us, who’re mooching off of Yuuto-san and Yukata.”

 

The white-ish haired boy raised an eyebrow, “No “-san” for Yukata-san, Chiaki?” He dragged Hajime and Chiaki by the back of their shirts to Yutaka - well more like Yuuto’s office at this point.

 

Both of them groaned, as if emotionally drained already. Hajime decided to deign Nagito with a response. “Yuuto-san is far more deserving of respect, and frankly, Yutaka needs to finish at least a stack of his own paperwork before I even consider saying his name with respect.” He finished by standing up from Nagito’s grasp and just walking on his own, Chiaki following him.

 

Suddenly, Chiaki half-falling asleep bumped into someone and crashed into the ground, she rubbed her eyes in tiredness and looked to see who it was. It was a brunette, well, dark-haired with a purple tint to her hair. Grey-ish mauve eyes, and a beauty mark underneath her left eye. She seemed to be either accident prone or a victim of bullying with the amount of bandages on her… it may have rivalled or even exceeded the number of band-aids and the likes on Nagito himself.

 

The gamer went to apologize, “I’m sorry… I wasn’t looking where I was going, probably. Are you alright?” She stood up carefully and extended a hand out to the other girl. “By the way, my name is Chiaki.”

 

Tears formed in the other girl's eyes, and she cried out an apology while stuttering, “I’m terribly sorry! Do you need me to do anything for you? I can do whatever you want!”

Chiaki looked rather awkward in the moment, glancing at Hajime and Nagito for a moment, before looking back at the girl on the ground. “Uhm… you really don’t have to do anything, it was my mistake.” Seeing the other girl’s teary eyes, the gamer realized she probably had to ask for something or the timid girl would be in guilt the whole time. “If you would, I would like your name?”

 

“T-tsumiki Mikan..!” She hesitantly took Chiaki’s hand after she introduced herself, “Again, I’m very sorry Chiaki-san!”

Chiaki giggled, “No need to refer to me so formally Tsumiki-chan, just Chiaki or Chiaki-chan is fine!” She checked over Mikan for any bruises while Mikan blushed.

 

Remembering the name Nagito spoke up, “Isn’t that the girl that’s coming in today? Oh! So you’re acting with us, that’s great!”

 

Mikan nodded and fiddled with her thumbs, “U-uhm… I didn’t really know where Sakamoto-san’s office was so I was just trying to look for it.”

 

Nodding Hajime motioned for Chiaki to bring Mikan over, “Then you can come with us, we already think that Yukata wanted us to meet you, we’ll just surprise him and come altogether.” His expression darkened and he let out a smirk, “Later we can prank Yukata, I saw that damn Luka poster that he was hiding and I want revenge.”

While Nagito attempted to placate Hajime from his scheming, Chiaki lightly took Mikan’s hand and dragged Hajime along to Yukata’s office, with Nagito smiling and following behind while lecturing Hajime on why he shouldn’t be so harsh on Yukata.

 

A few doors down from Yukata’s office, Yuuto came and noticed the three of them. The pinkette noticed them and adjusted his glasses. “I was just looking for you three, oh, and you have Tsumiki-san with you. I am Tokushige Yuuto, though Yuuto is just fine. I am the assistant of Yukata.”

 

Mikan squeaked and nodded while the three of them smiled. Yuuto was definitely more than just an assistant… way more than an assistant alright.

 

Yuuto cocked his head back and walked forward, “Do follow me. Yukata is waiting… not patiently, he doesn’t have the capability for that.”

 

At least it was something, Yuuto wasn’t calling Yukata some sort of variation of tomato head. Only insulted him once, though probably because Mikan was new. Nagito mused to himself… what did he have to do after whatever meeting with Yukata happened. Oh right, the SEKAI, Nagito had to visit the SEKAI. Well, easy enough, they’d just enter when they’re in their room by themself later or something, hopefully Rin didn’t mind that he was a little late… by a day.

 

They reached Yukata’s office and Yuuto opened the door, leading to Yukata looking oh so prim and proper, his paperwork cleared off his desk, though Nagito knew that he probably just sweeped it all into his drawers.

 

Yukata started to speak while wiping off his perfectly clean suit. “Hello Tsumiki-san, we’re glad to have you here at Danganronpa. As stated before in the contract you signed, you will be assigned an Ultimate and if you choose to, you will have a place here in Danganronpa Headquarters dorms to stay.”

 

He paused, clearing his throat, and continued, “With your skill set that you stated in your application, along with some minor acting roles, we decided to give you the Ultimate Nurse. You will receive a guideline of sorts of the script, you are free to insert any lines you want or suggest anything for the script. Thank you for your time, Tsumiki-san.” 

 

Mikan ducked her head and nodded, “Thank you Sakamoto-san for giving me this opportunity! I will work as hard as I can to meet your expectations!”

 

Yukata grinned, “It’s all fine, Yukata is fine as well,” The redhead smiled “Since you already seemed to have met the other three, as well as signed up for staying here in the dorms, you’ll be with them a lot, since the three of them also reside here. Do bond for a bit, you all are able to leave.”
