Abyss Is Where the Devil Lives

Summary:

It has been two years since Gaon left Korea for Switzerland and started living with Yohan and Elijah. Things seem perfectly fine, until they aren't. If only Gaon could stop Yohan from having nightmares! You may walk away from the past, but the past will always follow you.

“You’re not an abyss,” Gaon said as he tried to control his tears, slowly playing with Yohan’s hair.
“You’re standing at the edge of it, Gaon-ah.” Yohan said, “From where you’re standing all you can see is the trees and flowers, that is the life we have here, you, me, and Elijah, but deep down there is a desert, a hell of darkness that even the light cannot penetrate anymore, and there are devils that will rip you apart. You have three choices. You can walk back and move away from the abyss, you can stand on the edge of it, right where you are, or you can start going down. I’m sure you know by now what the consequences of your choices would be.”

Chapter 1: Heaven on Earth

Chapter Text

Gaon slowly opened his eyes. The room was completely bright with sun rays, despite the drawn curtains. The snow had stopped then. Was there anything in this world more beautiful than this? The warm bed he was in, the feeling of Yohan’s warm and firm body at his back, Yohan’s left hand which was now on his stomach, holding him, probably through the whole night, their entangled legs, the smell of sex still lingering in the air, Yohan’s slow breathing caressing his neck… Yohan… Yohan… Yohan…

He still couldn’t believe it. This was a fairy tale after all. How could things turn out so well between them at the end? All that agony! All that pain! All the panic attacks he used to have after he found out it wasn’t Yohan but actually Jung Sun Ah who was behind Soo-hyun’s death, when he tried to kill Yohan, what happened at the live court, Yohan’s flight to Switzerland and Gaon not knowing anything from him until he finally threw caution into the wind and texted Elijah, knowing very well that the number was not in use anymore. Still, somehow, as if out of nowhere, which was always Yohan’s line of work, Elijah had found out about the text and texted him back with an unknown number. The rest was history. He had left everything in Korea to go to Switzerland to be with the Kangs, not much else left for him in Korea anyway.

Two years had passed since then. Two years of bliss as he and Yohan had finally hit it off. He couldn’t be happier. He looked at the hand on his stomach. He slowly intertwined his fingers with Yohan’s, slowly feeling the line of the scar he had himself left there when he thought his world had been torn apart. It was something he could never forgive himself for, despite Yohan’s confirmation that he was forgiven each time the subject came up, these days almost never, as if the past was now completely behind them.

A small kiss on the back of his neck sent shivers down his spine. Apparently, Gaon’s hand-holding had woken Yohan up. The kiss only reminded Gaon of the night before, of the heat, Yohan’s hand pinning his hands on the pillow next to his head as each thrust inside of him sent him to heaven and back. Only remembering it was enough to make him hard again. Gaon smiled and rolled over, meeting the sleepy eyes of the man he worshipped. Those dark dark brown orbs could do things to him he never knew was possible.

“Good morning,” Gaon said, his smile reaching his eyes as he could feel Yohan was well rested. It had been months since the last time Yohan had a nightmare, and waking up next to him in the morning was only one of the things Gaon was grateful for.

“Good morning,” Yohan said with a sleepy voice. God that voice! It was beautiful even when Yohan had just woken up! It wasn’t fair! Gaon couldn’t help himself anymore. He moved forward and planted a kiss on Yohan’s lips. It was slow as if an affirmation of everything they felt for each other, telling each other without words how much love they had for one another. Gaon still couldn’t believe it.

The breakfast was served on the little table in the kitchen. It felt much cozier than the big dining table that could fit 20 people and was barely used now. Just like any other time, Gaon’s cooking was appreciated in the form of food vanishing from Yohan and Elijah’s plates in less than five minutes. How they had lived with Mrs. Ji and her cooking for so long Gaon could never understand. He looked at Yohan eating breakfast like he had not eaten anything in ages, and it made him smile. It always made him smile looking at him eat and enjoy his food, especially now with the white wool sweater he was wearing and the hair that was still a bit damp from the shower. He could just devour Yohan! A notification sound from Elijah’s phone, however, stopped the trail of his dirty thoughts.

“Jonathon is at the door,” Elijah said after looking at his phone. She then put the last spoon of breakfast in her mouth and reached for her crutches. She held the crutches under her elbows and slowly stood up. Who would have thought Elijah could walk again one day? Every time Gaon saw her walking he felt fireworks in his stomach, and he couldn’t wait for the day when Elijah could put the crutches away as well. This, however, was not the only thing Gaon was proud of when it came to Elijah. She was still at the top of her class at Stanford, had already won a few prizes for her painting, already had a boyfriend called Jonathon whom Yohan hated, and a group of friends she spent quite a good amount of time with. Her friends adored her. Gaon looked at Yohan who was looking at Elijah getting up, clearly irritated at the thought of Jonathon (it took a lot of time and bickering and Gaon’s constant talking to Yohan, trying to convince him that Elijah could have a social life until Yohan finally gave in), and then back at Elijah.

“What?” Elijah asked.

“You’re going out with him again?” Yohan asked, “Today?”

“Of course. I haven’t seen him for three days! It’s been snowing like hell…”

“Exactly my point.” Yohan interrupted, “The roads are slippery, what if your crutches slip and you fall and break your legs?”

“We’re not gonna walk, he has a car, just so you know.”

“Don’t keep him waiting,” Gaon said, and looked at Yohan, silently begging him not to say anything anymore and to let her niece enjoy the day with her boyfriend, and Yohan got the message. He just crossed his arms on his chest and looked at Elijah through his bangs.

“I know! I will answer my phone if you call.” Elijah said, frowning at Yohan, and then looked at Gaon, quickly changing her expression into a beautiful smile, “See you.”

“Have a nice time,” Gaon said with a smile. Already too aware of the fact that Yohan wanted to punch him, and so he waited until he heard Elijah closing the door behind her before he turned to Yohan with a smile.

“Enough sulking.” He said and started picking up the dirty plates, “She’ll be ok.”

“I’m not sulking,” Yohan said, as he too started clearing the table, bringing the dirty dishes to the sink.

“Jonathan is a sweet boy.” Gaon said, “If you just try a little to get to know him.”

“I know him enough,” Yohan said, and Gaon knew better than anyone what it meant. Yohan had already gathered all the information he could lay his hands on about Jonathon and his family. He knew about Jonathon’s parents’ source of income, their relatives, some of whom lived in Spain, their hobbies, and even knew that Jonathon’s great-great-grandfather was a farmer.

“I don’t mean the files you have on Jonathon on your laptop, I mean getting to know him as a person, the way he feels about Elijah, and they actually look cute together.”

“When you say cute,” Yohan started, leaning back on the kitchen counter and crossing his arms on his chest again, “do you mean texting each other till 3 A.M. and him buying her presents, or should we expect a proposal anytime soon?”

“What?” Gaon looked up at Yohan as he put the remaining plates in the sink. Yohan was doing it again, leading the conversation where he wanted and Gaon knew he wasn’t a match for Yohan’s debating skills, “what proposal? Elijah is not even eighteen yet! Jonathon is just a year older than her, you surely do not expect them to think about marriage and stuff at this age, do you?”

“Another point of mine that you constantly choose to refuse. Elijah gets emotionally involved, too much in fact, and will be heartbroken. She’s too young for these types of emotional attachments.”

“That’s a possibility, yes,” Gaon said as he stood right in front of Yohan, put his hands on the counter on both sides of his adorable boyfriend, and smiled, trapping Yohan between his arms, “but that does not mean she shouldn’t have a boyfriend. Even if they break up, at least she learns a lot about relationships and will be more careful with her next boyfriend.”

“What next boyfri-Hmmm!” Gaon put his hands on both sides of Yohan’s face and kissed him hard before he could finish his sentence. He then moved his right hand into Yohan’s hair and deepened the kiss, licking Yohan’s lip and asking for entrance, which was granted after a few seconds as Yohan brought his hands down and put them on Gaon’s hips. As soon as their tongues started dancing together Gaon felt his heartbeat rise and the air around him getting hot all of a sudden. Yohan’s cologne, mixed with his natural scent hit his nostrils as his hands started roaming around Yohan’s torso under his sweater. He couldn’t help it. His body always reacted to Yohan’s smallest touch, and he couldn’t keep his hands off Yohan even if he wanted to. They broke the kiss to get some air and Gaon put his forehead on Yohan’s, looking deep into his eyes.

“Instead of worrying about Elijah, look on the bright side,” Gaon whispered, “she’s gone, probably for the whole day, the house is empty and I don’t have anything to do… no wait… there is nothing I would want to do except have you inside of me, what do you say?”

Gaon’s answer to his question didn’t come in the form of words, but he found two dark orbs cutting through his soul, and the next moment Yohan was kissing him again. Their tongues found each other again and their clothes started coming off one by one, and before he knew it Gaon was naked, sitting on Yohan’s lap on the couch in the living room, as Yohan’s mouth was on his collarbone, licking a specific spot that drove Gaon crazy.

“Please…” Gaon tried to say between his gasps as he closed his eyes and threw his head back when Yohan grabbed his cock and started moving his hand up and down, “I need you…”

“Whatever you want Gaon-ah” Yohan’s husky voice whispered in his ears, “whatever you want…”

As if Gaon could resist that voice! He took a deep breath and positioned himself on the tip of Yohan’s now leaking cock, and slowly lowered himself down. He felt so full he felt he could have come just like that. He put his hands on the back of the couch above Yohan’s shoulders and started moving his hips. Soon Yohan started thrusting up, hitting a specific spot inside Gaon which made him see stars. Their moans started filling the living room and soon Gaon came with something that resembled a scream, all over Yohan’s chest and abs, tightening his hips around Yohan’s cock and dragging the orgasm out of him, as he felt the hot liquid bursting inside of him. He slowly rode their orgasms and came to a halt, putting his head on Yohan’s shoulder as the other was still inside of him, trying to catch his breath. He then felt Yohan’s hand in his hair and a deep voice in his ear telling him “I love you.”
