“ Daddy, what is the best thing you ever created?” A little princess sitting in his lap asked. Her red eyes filled with curiosity and wonder.
“ Well, it's you, my little princess!” Her dad answered without hesitation.
Charlie laughed. “ That is not me!”
“Hmm” Lucifer contemplated for a moment.
Back when Eden was in its early stages, he had no small hand in designing it. In fact, he was known as the most imaginative angel out there. And often bending the rules of established reality.
He had his hand in various animals.
Horses creatures that were absurdly strong, octopuses that could squeeze even in the tightest of holes, goats that could climb nearly diagonal surface with ease, snakes that didn't have any limbs but were capable of many things.
Platypus were made mostly to spite Sera with her perfectionism. He created a creature that doesn't make any sense!
His favorites were birds.
After all, he created the base form of birds. Made ducks, peacocks, few types of parrots. Then he made a flying mammal using birds as a base just to win a bet with Raphael. That why they are called bats. It was worth it.
He also had a hand in plants. Although he admits they were not as exiting as animals.
He suggested the idea of leaves changing colors at the end of their lives.
He had no small hand in designing alders and yews.
The daffodils were entirely his idea. Still his favorite flowers. He also helped with snowdrops.
Apples, strawberries, and raspberries were in particular his favorite fruits to design. He really liked the color red, didn't he?. He also made pumpkins, but he wasn't as proud of them as the rest.
He helped with various weather patterns and volcanoes in particular.
But if there is one thing that he feels especially proud of.
“The cosmos.” He simply answered, then looked at his daughter.
The little demon was confused.
“ Cosmos? What is it?” This simple question made him realize where he was.
Of course, she wouldn't know what the stars were. Hell didn't have an endless sky. It had ceiling. With one giant pentagram as a light source.
That was the biggest punishment for him. Not being able to witness any of his creations.
“ Imagine during the nighttime a thousand of little lights on hells' ceiling. Those light are called stars. There are also planets. They are more varied, but as glowing as stars. The ceiling would be very dark, so every light is visible. And it wouldn't be just a single color. There would be a thousand colors dancing. Morphing into something called galaxies. It would also change everybody often. Certain light would fuse or change color or disappear.”
“Wow!” Charlie almost could see that. “ That's pretty.”
“It is. You know what's the best part?” Lucifer asked eagerly.
“No. What?”
“ The stars can be put into patterns that can be interpretin thousandsdifferentways. . So that everyone can create something. Even if, it's just in their mind. They can also make wishes.”
“Wishes?!” Charlie smile widen. “I wish to see the stars for real!”
“ It doesn't work like that!” Lucifer laughed. “But you will. I promise you.”
They both will.
