Chapter Text
This day started good
She got out of her bed early, she managed to recharge fine the whole night so she had enough energy to do her chores before the night came.
The android known as Cassette Girl put her hoodie on and went to the kitchen in her department, where she found her now-for-a-year roommate sitting at the kitchen table, looking through his phone.
“They are probably working” is what she thought. She still didn’t care and went to surprise hug her roommate, successfully surprising the grunt known as Hank j Whimbleton.
The tall individual upon realizing that their attacker was his roommate, they started shouting some metallic and angry noises, at least what could come out of that metal jaw.
“Heh, sorry, but you were the one not noticing I was here in the first place,” said Cassette, not letting her friend go out of her hug.
Hank sighed and pushed their roommate away, managing to say something understandable under all that metallic bip bop “Well sorry I’m actually doing my work, and a important one to add”
“Yeah yeah I know” Cassette said as she went to the refrigerator to pick something to eat for breakfast .
As she was making herself some sandwich and Coffee, Hank was finishing messaging a client, this night he would need to assassinate a target when they get to be alone. Not the best job but the one they could get.
Still even, the red glasses guy couldn’t help but keep taking their gaze off the phone to look at the black hair girl just in front of them from time to time.
It was just the way her hair would move when she did, the way her blue eyes shine every time the morning light hit them, the way her hands move around so simple but so elegantly to his eyes, she was just beautiful even in this simple and mundane situation.
It didn’t take too long for Cassette to notice this and as soon as she finished making her breakfast, she sat down with it just in front of the tall grunt.
“Well for being such an important job, you don’t seem to be very concentrated you know??” The girl said teasingly to her distracted roommate, startling them into looking the other way without doing eye contact. Cassette continued “ Heheh, don’t worry I won’t distract you for so long, just remember getting the job done before night, you do remember what happens tonight right??”
And of course they would remember, this night it was the premiere of the new chapter of the mystery series they were watching together and they wanted to be one of the firsts to see it before they get flooded with spoilers.
So naturally, Hank nodded as an answer.
“Awesome!” Exclaimed Cassette girl “well then I will stop distracting you silly” as she was saying this, she stood up off the table and grabbed her breakfast with her.
Before the girl leaves the kitchen, her roommate manages to catch her attention exclaiming something “hey I wasn’t getting distracted by you!”
“Well if you say so buddy <3”
And with that, Cassette went to her room to basically spend most of the rest of the day in. She finished her breakfast when she managed to hear her roommate leaving the apartment they were in.
She decided she would have this nice place before the premiere so she got up and tidied up her room, since that’s where they were going to watch the episode on her computer.
The rest of the day was pretty calm, Cassette spent the day working on the new song she was making. Though her career as a songwriter and singer was still pretty small, she still loved doing what she does (plus it does help paying the bills).
Anyways she also messaged the girls some and made herself some dinner when the time came.
And finally she played some video games on her phone till the sun started hiding.
“Ah this day was pretty nice I have to admit” said the android while stretching and looking through her window “I can’t wait till Hank gets here to watch together! … tho I’m pretty sure he should have been here some time ago… ah they probably got distracted with a blender or something!”
The only thing that could be heard was the taping of her phone
…tap tap tap
“… what if they got lost?? The city is big and it wouldn’t be the first time…mn”
… tap tap
“He would message me if that was the case right?? Unless they got hurt... ”
…tap
“…Im probably getting worried over nothing… still."
…
“You know what?? I’m hungry. I’m gonna get something while I wait for this idiot!”
Cassette girl said this as she was getting of her bed to put on some shoe, a backpack with some money and a hair tie to put her hair in a ponytail.
Then she got out of the already silent and empty department.
The sky was already getting darker when she exited the building so she hurried a bit towards the store she and Hank went to buy groceries from.
“A watch party is never fully prepared without something to eat!” Is what she thought to herself when she bought some snacks.
Still when she finished the quick shopping, the night was getting darker.
“Mn at this rate even I am going to be late for the episode, I should probably get home quickly” she thought as she was looking around for a quick way back to the building until she saw an alleyway just in the way there. “Mnnn that’s probably a very dangerous way to go trough… nah”
And with this, the android entered the dark alleyway without a care for her wellbeing.
It was getting darker than before there, the street noises were silenced by the steeps of the girl in the empty place.
Still, Cassette girl was as calm as always.
That is, until she noticed something. On the dark blueish floor, there was some red.
That red was leading to a trash bin, where some legs could be seen beside it.
The android paused when she noticed what that could be. This is quite habitual in a city where most fights get resolved by rap battles and also her roommate is an assassin, but witnessing a corpse…
She flinched a bit when she heard some kind of heavy breathing from the not-so-dead body.
“That is a bit familiar… could it be?!” Is what crossed her mind when she decided to get closer to the bin to see that the person beside it was..
“Hank??”
“…?”
The tall grunt was on the floor bleeding from their abdomen, right arm and mouth, which was no longer covered by a mask. They were holding his wounds while trying to say say something being difficult with their jaw filled with blood
“C-cass wh- how?”
He couldn’t finish their sentence because of the black hair girl getting closer to them.
“You look horrible! What happened to you?”
Normally Cassette girl would have a plain almost emotionless expression on her face, but Hank could promise that she looked a bit stressed at that moment.
“We need to get you somewhere safe, Can you stand up??”
“Ugh, I obviously can-“
Hank tried to get up by themselves, but that didn’t stop his roommate from helping them and holding him so they can stand up
“I said I can do this by myself-“
“There’s no time to be egocentric, let’s go!”
And so they go
Where?? To the hospital?? Hell no, those places are always full and expensive. Obviously they are going back to their department.
Cassette girl didn’t think twice to get her roommate on the couch when they entered the room. (Obviously she also closed the front door)
“Alright stay in here I’ll get something to help you buddy” the android said as she went off to another room in the search for a medical kit.
Hank was just confused at how their roommate found him. They were on a mission to assassinate a target but something went wrong and he ended up pretty hurt. They have been hurt worse than this but seeing Cassette like this was…they just never thought she could make such a worried face.
That thought didn’t last long since the android was back with some bandages and some alcohol.
“Aigh I got everything, show me where you got hurt!”
“I- well ugh”
It was a bit hard for the massively looked assassin to accept the help from someone, who used to tend to his own wounds. Even still at this moment, guess it’s ok to show a bit of vulnerability.
“I did get stabbed in my arm and slashed a couple times in my chest…”
“Alright I’ll help you, take it off”
“Huh??”
“Take your jacket off”
“Huh-?! No I won’t!” The before serious killer yelled at the intention of taking their clothes off in front of the android in front of him.
“If you don’t let me access the wounds, how I’m I supposed to bandage them??”
“It’s not that! It’s just- ugh ok…”
The black dressed person looked away as they were lowering one of his sleeves, showing their shoulders. At this, Cassette girl sat beside her roommate, holding his arm in her hand with the medical kit in the other. She then proceeded to take the whole sleeve off to see the whole, very wounded, arm, making Hank flinch a bit .
“Thanks, you see how it isn’t that hard you dummy?”
“Yeah yeah whatever you say- “ he flinched upon the alcohol being rubbed into the wound “Aaa what the fuck!?”
“This needs to be disinfected before laying the bandages! Didn’t you know??”
“ Of course I do, you idiot! I just don’t do it since it isn’t important-!” Another rub “ ugh- hey careful-! Didn’t you wanna help me?!”
“Well I would if you stopped moving around so much now stay still!”
Hank just saw away as Cassette girl went back to rubbing the alcohol with a cotton on the wound, to later wrap the arm in some bandages.
“See that wasn't that bad”
“I’m not a child so you talk to me like that… but yeah you are right…”
“Alright now take your shirt off I need to see the wound on your che-“
“Absolutely no!!”
“Agh common!” The black hair girl growled “ it’s not like we are about to have sex or something like that!”
“Sh-shut up, you know that’s not the problem!” The now blushing grunt yelled out, their neighbors probably hate them. “Ugh alright just, promise you won’t say or do anything weird ok??”
“Hm?? Why would I?? What you are nervous about me seeing you half na-“
“Alright, no this isn’t it. I’m leaving, I 'd rather bleed to death than this” Hank said as he got up from the couch a bit slow.
“No wait I’m sorry haha “ the girly couldn’t help but chuckle a bit now that the situation has gotten lighter than before “alright don’t worry I promise I won’t do anything that isn’t helping you”
“…ugh if you say so…” he went back to the couch beside her “but if you say something weird I’m leaving alright??”
“Alright, now if you could..”
The blushing grunt nodded as they looked away and lifted their shirt until the spot where his chest was harmed was visible. Curiously enough, there were other scars visible in there, two big ones just under the chest.
The android looked a bit blushing before getting focused and starting the same process she did in the arm before. She got the alcohol and disinfected the wounds before placing the bandages on top of them. When finished, the now treated one lowered their shirt back to where it was.
“And that’s all, feeling better??” Cassette girl asked.
“Yeah… I guess so…”
“Great, now” she said as she was putting back the supplies on the medical kit “could you tell me what happened??”
“Um, just a mission going wrong, it wasn’t a big deal honestly…” they couldn’t help but feel a bit guilty “still…”
“??”
“Sorry for not getting here sooner, I thought I would be able to just walk here but I got weaker in the way”
“Well it’s a bit late for that but I forgive you”
“Heh… and also eh..” the tall killer covered their face with his hand as they were talking “ thanks for helping me, you really didn’t have to..”
It isn’t that usual for Hank to be sentimental, they still try his hardest at least of Cassette girl, she softened her eyes while standing up to get in front of him.
“Don’t worry I just can’t let my watch partner to die before we watched that episode together, tho it probably already premiered so we lost it”
“Oh yeah I forgot about that.. sorry”
“It’s ok… but you know..” she said softly as she leaned closer to him until their faces were just a inches close. “You could thank me with something else?? A kiss Maybe??"
The blushing Grunt backed away surprised by the request, at this response, the black hair girl backed away while giggling.
“Haha im kidding don’t worry with just a thanks it’s enough” she was going to turn around to take the medical kit back to its place if it weren’t by the hand holding the sleeve of her hoodie, making her turn her head towards the grunt now standing up.
“I mean, if that’s what you want as a thanks…”
“Huh??” Now she was also blushing, was it even possible for a robot to blush?? Well it seems that it was “wait are you sure?? Would you be ok with that??”
“Yeah well, I mean,
Aren’t we dating anyways??”
Ah Yeah forgot to tell you, it had been like two months since Cassette asked Hank to be her partner and they accepted. Even then in those two months they weren’t able to go further than just holding hands and hugging.
“Ah right yeah um” Cassette girl didn't think she would be nervous when this moment came but there she was, looking down fidgeting with her hair, until a hand held her cheek making her look up at her partner’ face.
“Are you okay with this??”
“Eh… um.. ye-yeah I’m fine with this. Go for it” she said as she closed her eyes.
Without another word to be said, Hank leaned down still holding his girlfriend's cheek until his upper lip and metal jaw touched with her lips.
There was no noise at that moment, it was as if time stopped.
The hard and cold metal combined with the warm and soft lip was a weird but wonderful sensation for the android who now laid her hand on top of her partner’s, accepting this cute gesture.
After some seconds that seemed like hours, the tall one broke the kiss.
It was just some seconds of silence till this one talked again.
“So uh… did i do it right??”
“Pfff, what kind of question is that??”
“Eh- um im sorry was it ba-”
He was then interrupted with the answer of their girlfriend, another tender kiss on the lips, this time with Cassette hugging Hank by the shoulders.
The kiss was short but strong. The girl broke the kiss before speaking.
“Is that good of an answer to you??”
“!! You idiot! Be more careful, I still have a metal jaw and could bite you!”
“Mmnn but I've been waiting for this moment for so long! I can't accept just one!”
Then she proceeds to give various little kisses to her partner’s face, making this one blush with their mouth closed to not harm her. Hank managed to block Cassette’ face with his hand to stop this kiss storm they were just getting.
“Alright alright I get it, stop!”
“Mnn- ok ill stop, for now~”
“Heh, dumbass”
“Heh ... .so you feel better now??”
“Totally I feel great!”
“That 's good.” Cassette said as she hugged her lover tenderly, with this one hugging her back.
“Oh yeah i just remembered, we probably missed the premiere of the episode” Said Hank
“You almost died and that's what's on your mind??”
“Well im better now and its also my fault”
“ow shut it!” Cassette said as she gave another kiss on the cheek to him.
“yeah yeah, i mean we can still watch it now if you wanna.”
“ummmm no, honestly im just tired right now. I just wanna cuddle with you”
Hank couldn't help but get embarrassed at this corny suggestion. But then sighted.
“Yeah im also tired not gonna lie, I just wanna lay down and hug you” They said as they held his lover face in his hand, wich made this one get embarrased again but still keep the calm face and nodded leaning her head to this hand.
And with this, the couple walked towards the android’ room and lay down on the bed.
After wrapping each other in the covers cassette was held in her lover’s arms pressing her to his chest. A pretty cute picture that made her hide her face in his neck. Hank just laid a hand in his girlfriend’s hair while laying their chin on top of her head as they spoke.
“Hey so, about what happened earlier, when you were patching my wounds, you saw those scars right?”
“Mn?? Oh you mean on your chest?? Yeah I saw them, but hey I already told you before didn’t I?? I would love you no matter what your body looks like so don’t worry about it.”
“I dint worry about it I just wanted to be sure”
“Yeah sure, I love you Hank”
“…I love you too… good night”
“Good night <3”
This day started good, and it ended amaizing.
