Chapter 1: Chapter One
Summary:
After a one night stand with Robotnik, Stone finds out he's pregnant. Now he has to figure out how to tell him. But how will Robotnik react?
Well, it was... better than Stone expected, for sure.
Chapter Text
Stone stood in his bathroom, hands shaking as he awaited the results of the pregnancy test that sat on his sink, anxiously replaying the events of that fateful night in his head.
It was a one time thing, that's what they had agreed that following morning before the conference. Hell, Robotnik probably didn't even remember what happened that night, but Stone? Oh, Stone will never forget...
-two weeks earlier
Stone and Robotnik entered the hotel room, the agent immediately taking note of the one queen sized bed with very expensive looking bedding.
"You have got to be kidding me." Robotnik grumbled, setting his bag down at the foot of the bed. "They gave us a fucking honeymoon suite? On, ugh, Valentine's Day no less?"
"It's fine, sir. I can take the floor." Stone said, doing his best to placate his boss.
"Just order us some dinner for now. I haven't had a single goddamn thing since this morning." Robotnik replied, sitting down on the edge of the bed. "And get some wine with that. I have a feeling I'm gonna need it."
"Of course, sir." Stone said, picking up the room phone and looking at the menu next to it. "Anything specific?"
"I'm too tired to decide. Just find something you'd like and get two." Robotnik answered. "Make sure they bring a decent wine, though. The good stuff, none of that cheap, lower shelf crap. It's disgusting."
"Yes, sir." Stone agreed, dialing the number to order their dinner.
...
A little while later, they were sat at the room's small dining table, enjoying their dinner of simple fettuccine Alfredo and a pricey Merlot. Robotnik had spent most of this time ranting and raving about Walters and G.U.N and everything in-between, Stone hanging on every word.
"I'm glad I have you around. You're my only buffer between myself and those...idiots." Robotnik said with a hint of... affection? in his voice. "If I hadn't kept you around, I probably would have killed that pathetic old imbecile by now."
"I'm honored to hear it, doctor." Stone replied, his heart fluttering in his chest. Robotnik tapped his fingers against the table in a set pattern, one of his more recognizable stims. Stone knew he was tapping the tune to 'Evil Grows', one of the genius's favorite songs.
Stone got an idea and reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone, pulling up Spotify and selecting the playlist he had made full of songs Robotnik liked, clicking on 'Evil Grows'. He noted how Robotnik immediately seemed to cheer up a bit as the song began, the moody guitar beat filling the room.
"You know me too well, Stone." Robotnik sighed, standing and taking his agent's hand. Stone accepted eagerly, caught off guard. It wasn't every day he got to dance with the love of his life, and he always took the time to savor every moment when he got the chance.
Robotnik lead the dance, swaying gently in rythm with the song, admiring his agent's dancing skill. Stone had learned to dance from his mother as a young boy, but he definitely had learned more about dancing from Robotnik, although admittedly his rhythm was nowhere near as good as the scientist's.
Stone was mesmerized by Robotnik's every movement, his skin burning where their bodies made contact. Robotnik spun Stone by the hand and pulled him back in, their faces dangerously close. "You fascinate me, Stone." Robotnik whispered into the agent's ear, sending a shiver down the younger man's spine.
"Likewise." Stone replied breathlessly, too stunned to properly breathe.
Suddenly the song changed to a slower track, and Stone immediately recognized it. 'Valentine' by Martina McBride, it was a song Stone loved. He must have put it on the playlist by accident. To his surprise, however, Robotnik didn't object to the song. He actually kept dancing with Stone, changing their rhythm to this new song.
‘if there were no words, no way to speak, I will still hear you, if there were no tears, no way to feel inside, I still feel for you, cause even if the sun refused to shine, even if the romance ran out rhyme, you would still have my heart until the end of time, you are all I need, my love, my valentine'
"Never took you for a romantic, Stone." Robotnik teased, pulling back to grasp Stone by the chin playfully. What he found though was a flustered, beautiful Stone looking up at him with a dark raspberry toned blush covering his face. Robotnik found himself transfixed by Stone's lips, they looked so perfect, so soft. So... kissable. "I have the sudden urge to...kiss you."
All the air left Stone's lungs as he tried to figure out if he was experiencing an auditory hallucination. "Please." Stone whispered breathlessly, every inch of his body trembling.
Robotnik leaned in, capturing Stone's lips in an awkward, uncertain kiss, having never done this before. Stone seemed to recognize the lack of experience, picking up the slack immediately and moving against the older man, hands tangling in his hair. Soon, they were walking backwards towards the bed, Stone flopping back onto with a chuckle before Robotnik sealed his mouth with a kiss once more, hands fumbling with their clothes. Their shoes were kicked off quickly, hands reaching for zippers next.
"How far do you want to take this, Stone?" Robotnik asked breathlessly, dedicating the sight before him to memory. His agent, flustered and breathless, hair messed up and clothes disheveled. Breathless, awestruck, gorgeous. "I can't promise I'll... match up to any of your previous partners. I've never..."
"Then we'll go as far as you're comfortable with, Doctor." Stone whispered, a gentle smile on his face as he held Robotnik's face in his hand.
"Please, Stone." Robotnik whispered, leaning in to press a kiss to his agent's neck by his ear. "Call me Ivo..."
Aban's heart lurched into his throat at that. He had never been permitted to call Robotnik by his first name before. But by God was he going to take him up on the chance today. "Ivo...oh god, I need you. Please."
"Patience, my trusty barnacle. Patience." Ivo whispered playfully, pulling Stone's pants down off his hips, revealing his purple boxers which were absolutely soaked. "Oh, you're a desperate little thing, aren't you, Aban?"
"Fuck." Stone practically growled, reaching up to touch Ivo's hair. The scientist grabbed his wrists in one hand, using the other to rid his agent of his silk tie.
Ivo quickly bound Stone's hands to the bedframe, running his hands down the agent's arms, his sides, to his hips, hooking his fingers into the waistband of his briefs and pulling them off him. Ivo spread his legs open, gazing at the glistening, trembling flesh of Stone's cunt.
"Do you have any idea how perfect you look like this, Agent?" Ivo purred, hands running along Stone's trembling thighs as his breath ghosted against the younger man's glistening folds. "What's the magic word?
"Please, Ivo..." Stone pleaded, pulling against the tight binds of his tie.
"Good boy..." Ivo replied, leaning forward and giving an experimental lick against Stone's clit, causing the agent to let out a loud gasp, his back arching as he pressed his cunt up into Ivo's face. He took this as a definite sign to continue, flattening his tongue against the nub.
"Oh, fuck, yes." Stone whimpered, his voice shaking as the pleasure seeped into his bones. "Just like that, oh f-fucking christ."
Ivo continued in this pattern, lapping his tongue over Stone's hard clit, drawing a litany of moans, curses, and blissful blasphemies from him. Ivo shifted his hips and felt the pressure against his aching, rock hard cock, moaning loudly as he nearly came in his slacks right there. Reluctantly, Ivo pulled away from Stone's cunt, earning a disappointed whine from the younger man.
"Don't worry, gorgeous. I'm not done with you yet." Ivo assured him, undoing his unbearably tight slacks and pulling his briefs off with them. Stone's mouth went dry and his eyes widened at the sight of Ivo's leaking, throbbing, rock hard cock. He had to have been at least seven, possibly eight inches long, and by god was it thick. He felt the heat boiling in his lower belly, the need too urgent to ignore.
"What are you staring at?" Ivo asked, sounding a bit annoyed. "It's just a cock."
"It's perfect." Stone replied earnestly, practically drooling. "That has to be the biggest cock I've ever seen."
"So you've seen a few, huh?" Ivo asked then, his confidence seeming to wane a bit.
"Yes, but yours is my favorite." Stone replied, his heart squeezing with all the love he felt inside. "And if you don't get it inside me right now, I might lose my goddamn mind."
"Don't have to ask me twice." Ivo said with a smirk, hoisting his agent's legs over his hip as he pressed the tip against Stone's desperate hole, watching his beautiful face as he slipped inside.
Stone threw his head back, mouth agape as he was stretched open. It was so much more than he had taken before, the stretch bordering on painful, but by God, it was exactly what he needed.
"Move, please." Stone gasped, his legs locking around Ivo's waist. Robotnik slowly pulled backwards, circling his hips to slowly push back in. Eventually the pace picked up, Stone pulling desperately against his restraints.
"You feel amazing." Ivo gasped. "So tight. So fucking tight. Oh, fucking Issac Newton."
Stone chuckled at Ivo's reactions to his body, mouthing at his neck and leaving kisses along his jaw. "You're the b-best I've ever had."
"Don't flatter me, Stone." Ivo panted. "I'm a 57 year old virgin, remember? At least I w-was."
"Of course I remember." Stone gasped, pleasure reaching a boiling point in his belly. "I'm h-honored to be the only one you've ever b-been with, I-Ivo. You've no idea how long I've dreamed of this, dreamed of giving myself to you, body and soul, tying myself to you and becoming y-yours."
"That's right. Mine. All mine." Robotnik growled, his thrust gaining ferocity as he pounded Stone into the mattress. "My Aban."
"Oh, fuck, Ivo, I--" Stone cried out, his muscles tightening. "I love you so much, I-- Oh, FUCK!"
Stone's legs tightened like a vice around Robotnik's waist as he came, pleasure crashing over him like waves. Ivo's hips began to stutter, his rhythm unsteady as he neared his own climax.
"Fuck, Aban. W-what should I do? Should I p-pull out?--"
"Don't you fucking dare." Stone whimpered, mind too hazy to fully comprehend the risks as he kept Ivo locked between his thighs.
"Oh, shit." Ivo grunted as the spasms of his orgasm began. "I...Aban, I love you need you, I-- Oh, god, FUCK!"
His hips came to a sudden halt, slamming against Aban's hips as his cock began pulsing and throbbing deep within him. Robotnik had practically screamed as he came, clinging to Aban like his life depended on it.
"That was fucking amazing." Ivo breathed, his body shaking from head to toe.
"Likewise."

-present day~
Stone held his hands over his abdomen, stomach twisting with anxiety at all the different scenarios running through his head. Would Robotnik even want to be a parent? Would he want anything to do with this kid? Would he force Stone to take full responsibility for the kid, raising their child all on his own? He hadn't even seemed to show any interest in Stone afterwards, encouraging him to do his best to forget the events of that night in favor of professionalism.
Soon, the two minutes were up. With a deep, steadying breath, he picked up the test, heart lurching into his throat at the sight of two pink lines. Positive.
Fuck...
-
The next morning, Stone walked into the lab, running on about four hours of sleep due to the fact he'd spent most of last night damn near having a panic attack trying to figure out how the hell he was going to tell Robotnik he knocked him up during their conference.
"Your latte, doctor." Stone said, handing Robotnik the drink. The foam was decorated with little hearts surrounding the doctor's face.
"Thank you, Stone." Robotnik said simply, focusing on his screen as he worked on some equations for his latest prototype.
Stone took a deep breath, convincing himself to get the words out. Just spit it out, Stone. Just spit it out! "Doctor...I need to discuss something with you regarding what happened that night at the conference." Stone started, wincing at the way Robotnik visibly tensed up.
"Stone..." Robotnik sighed, frustration evident in his tone. "I was experiencing a complete loss of control over my inhibitions due to my alcohol intake, and used you as a means of relieving my stress. If you have any misunderstandings concerning the meaning of that night, I do apologize. It was a stupid, idiotic mistake and I deeply regret--"
"I'm pregnant." Stone blurted out, and Robotnik looked up at him in utter disbelief.
"You're pregnant?" Robotnik muttered, waiting for the punchline, for the penny to drop. This couldn't be real. Stone is... pregnant?
"Yes." Stone whispered, bracing for the impending rejection, the freakout, a possible bout of anger and screaming.
"And it's mine?" Robotnik added, standing and slowly walking towards Stone, eyes fixed on his lower abdomen.
"Yes. You're the...the only one I've been with in years." Stone replied awkwardly. "Look, I'm not going to force you to take any responsibility. If you don't want this, I can take care of it. We can just pretend it never happened--"
"Are you out of your goddamn mind, Stone?!" Robotnik snapped, suddenly grabbing Stone by the lapel of his jacket. "Why in Newton's name would you even say that?! I do want this!"
"You do?" Stone asked in utter disbelief. Of all the scenarios his brain has concocted, none of them were this.
"Of course I do, Stone." Robotnik practically whispered, a hand coming up to cradle Stone's face gently. "I never thought I'd have a family. And now, It's even better because it's you who gave it to me."
Stone thought he must be dreaming. This couldn't be real. Robotnik actually wanted to have this baby with him? Actually wanted a family with him?
Suddenly, Robotnik pulled him into a firm but gentle hug, clinging to him like his life depended on it. It took Stone a few seconds to register the feeling of tears on his shoulder. "Doctor?"
Instead of answering immediately, Robotnik nuzzled further into Stone's neck, his breathing shaky. "Call me Ivo..." He whispered in disbelief a moment later, pulling away to look into Stone's eyes. "I can't believe it. I'm gonna be a father."
"You're going to be an amazing father." Stone assured him, brining his hands up to hold Robotnik's face. "I...I love you Ivo. So...So, so much. I've loved you for years. That night at the conference gave me the greatest gift I've ever gotten. I couldn't ask for anything more."
Robotnik breathed a shaky breath out, steadying his jangled nerves. "I love you, too." He whispered, pressing their foreheads together. "Both of you."

Chapter Text
~2 weeks later~
Robotnik had adjusted rather quickly to the reality of Stone carrying his child. He'd also, quite surprisingly, practically jumped at the opportunity to begin a romantic relationship with the agent. Robotnik had been spending a lot of his free time now between projects researching different sources on the topic of pregnancy, specifically in trans men, wanting to know as much as possible in order to make sure his lover and their unborn child were properly cared for.
Stone was in his office at Robotnik Labs catching up on some emails and paperwork for Robotnik when his watch buzzed with a message from the doctor, calling him to the main lab.
Huh, wonder what this is about? Stone thought to himself as he made his way down the hall to the main lab where Robotnik did all his work. He entered the room to see the doctor fiddling with something on his holo-screens, his prototype it seems.
"You called for me, Ivo?" Stone asked, fidgeting slightly.
"Ah, yes. According to my research, it's time for the first ultrasound. Most couples would go to the obstetrician, but who needs those quacks when I have something even better and just as safe in the palm of my hand?" Ivo explained, not missing the look of surprise and awe on his agent's face. "Just have a seat here, Aban."
Stone was momentarily caught off guard by Robotnik using his first name, which was ridiculous given that they'd been on a first name basis for two weeks now. He took a seat in the extra desk chair, barely suppressing his grin as Ivo hovered his hand over his belly for about ten seconds, clearly collecting a thorough scan, before tapping on his bulky wrist watch, which began to project a holoscreen image of what looked like a sonogram.
"Right there. Do you see it?" Robotnik asked, the wonder and awe heavy in his voice. "Our perfect little baby."
Aban stared at the screen, transfixed. He had seen sonograms before, being the oldest of the four kids in his family, with two sisters, one of which had recently had her second child. His eyes had immediately recognized the little white blip.
"Heartbeat's strong, vitals all look good for this stage. They're perfect. Absolutely perfect." Ivo murmured, amazed by this little life inside Stone that was probably no larger than a bean currently. "You're doing an amazing job at growing our little miracle, my love."
Stone chuckled softly, nuzzling into Robotnik's neck, arms draping around his waist in a lazy hug. "I'm glad we got drunk at that conference." He joked, earning a chuckle from Robotnik.
"You try being a lightweight, Aban." Robotnik shot back playfully. "We can only hope that our child despises alcohol enough to stay away till the grave."
"Yeah. We can only hope..."Stone replied softly, fingers ruffling Robotnik's hair playfully. "She's going to be so beautiful..."
"We can't even tell the gender yet." Ivo quips, earning a soft chuckle from Stone. "What makes you think girl?"
"Just a feeling." Stone sighs. "I don't care any way, though. Girl, boy, or whatever they feel they are, I'll still love them regardless."
"Likewise, Stone." Ivo replies, caressing Stone's cheek where his nearly trimmed beard met his soft tan skin. "Likewise."

Chapter 3: Chapter Three
Summary:
Robotnik and Stone are called to Green Hills to investigate a blackout, and Robotnik becomes obsessed with capturing this strange alien creature.
Chapter Text
Three weeks later~
It had started as an ordinary day in the lab, running some tests on Robotnik's prototype, finishing some projects for G.U.N, and of course keeping track of how Stone's pregnancy was progressing. He was ten weeks along now, with a barely visible bump in his lower abdomen that had brought Robotnik to tears when he first saw it.
But around noon they received an urgent call from Walters, ordering them to go to Green Hills, Montana to investigate a massive blackout that 'may be a possible terrorist attack.' Needless to say, Robotnik was NOT happy about that, but did he have a choice? Nooo, of course not. So they loaded up the mobile lab and made their way to the middle of fucking nowhere Green Hills, Montana, arriving at a little baseball field that had a trench of dirt dug around the perimeter of it, which looked halfway singed. The bulbs of the stadium lights had apparently exploded from some sort of overload, and there was still pulverized broken glass below them.
Robotnik exited the mobile lab with his signature dramatic flair, glaring at the major who-fucking-cares that was waiting with a stern expression on his face. Stone followed behind him, adjusting his jacket self-consciously just to make sure his tiny, practically non-existent bump wasn't visible to these mouth breathing soldiers and agents.
"Who's in charge here?" Robotnik asked the major, and Stone could barely suppress his grin from how giddy he was to get to bare witness to the scientist tearing down this nobody.
"My name is--"
"Wrong!" Robotnik cut him off.
"Major!--"
"I'm in charge!" Robotnik shouted. "I'm in charge."
Stone was fighting to keep a straight face at this point. Damn hormones, making him an extra emotional mess across the board.
"See this?" Robotnik says, gesturing to the government ID Stone was holding up. "It says I'm the top banana in a world full of hungry little monkeys. Allow me to clarify. Between us, the difference in intelligence on levels of critical importance is too vast to quantify. Agent Stone?"
"The doctor thinks your basic." Stone said, a smug grin on his face.
"Dr Robotnik, with all due respect--"
"I'm sorry, what was your name again?" Robotnik asked, feigning interest.
"Major Bennigton-"
"NOBODY CARES!" Robotnik interrupted. "Nobody cares. Wanna know why nobody cares? Because nobody cares about your achievement, and nobody cares how proud your mommy is that you're now reading at a third grade level! Have you read Charlotte's Web? Spoiler alert, she dies in the end, but she leaves behind a big, creepy eggsac!"
The Badniks exited the mobile lab then, hovering overhead and taking formation. "Aw, my babies!" Robotnik cooed, walking over to them. "Look what came out of my eggsac!" Robotnik said, stealing a discreet glance at Stone, more specifically his apparently flat abdomen.
Agent Stone barely disguised his giddiness. Fuck, he was down bad for this man.
"Is he still looking at me funny?" Robotnik asked then.
"Yes, he is." Stone replied sneering at Major Nobody Cares.
"Tell him to stop or I'll pull up his search history!" Robotnik snaps, holding up his hand with a finger hovering over the button that would very much do exactly that.
"If you don't stop, the doctor's going to take a closer look at--"
"I'm not deaf." Major Nobody Cares cut in.
Oh. Okay. Fuck you.
"Now, why don't you go wait in your little corner, and let my machines do your job?" Robotnik says, pressing a sequence of buttons on his gloves. "Can you feel it, Stone?"
"I can feel it, doctor." Stone replied, his hands clasped over his front in a discreet way of cradling their 'eggy' as Robotnik had taken to calling her.
"It's evolution, Stone. It's EVOLUTION!"
-
A little while later, Robotnik was sat in the mobile lab examining the footprint his Badniks had found in the woods when he heard Stone walk in behind him.
"Aban, do you see anything useful in this image?" Robotnik asked, eyes still fixed on the holoscreen before him.
"No, Ivo. I'm sorry." Stone replied, eyes searching the image.
"It's alright. Your eyes weren't trained to spot tracks by the Native American Shadow Wolves." Robotnik said, causing Stone to look at him in confusion. "Not only have I isolated this footprint, but I have mapped the exact, height, weight, and spinal curvature of this creature, and yet my computers can't find a single match for it ANYWHERE in Earth's animal kingdom!" Robotnik rattled off, standing up from his chair. "This wasn't a terrorist attack, and that's no baby bigfoot! This guy is something else entirely!"
"How do you plan to find him, Doctor?" Stone asked.
"Reroute all search units to the sight of the footprint. If I can't get the creature alive, I'll settle for mostly intact." Robotnik replied, rerouting his badniks to follow the trail of the prints.
-
"Think of the possibilities this thing could provide for my machines. What power does he have? What secrets of his world's technology could he share? Did he bring any of it with him?" Robotnik mused mostly to himself.
"We're here. This was where the creature was headed according to the tracks, Doctor." Stone announced, bringing the lab to a stop outside a humble two story hosue nestled in the woods. There was a single pickup truck parked outside, with a faded sheriff bumper sticker on it's rear bumper.
"This should be easy. Five minutes, in and out. If they try to run, you go after them, but be careful and take a Badnik with you for backup. Got it?" Robotnik ordered, looking at Stone sternly. "Have you got that, Aban?"
"Yes, Ivo." Stone assured him, pulling him in for a quick kiss. "I've got it. We'll be fine."
"You're disgustingly adorable, Agent." Ivo grumbled, heading out of the mobile lab.
"Love you, too." Stone called after him, earning an amused scoff in response.
-
About three minutes and fourteen seconds later, a man ran out of the house carrying a small blue creature, hopped in the truck, and sped off. Stone knew he had been ordered to go after them, but that all went out the window when the panic and worry of what had happened to the love of his life, the father of his unborn child, took over.
Stone ran into the house, finding the doctor sprawled on the floor, a bruise forming on his face. "Ivo! Are you okay?!" Stone cried out, helping him back to his feet. "I saw him take off, and I thought--"
"That you should stop them?!" Robotnik cut him off. "Open your mouth, and say you thought that you should stop them!"
"I'm sorry, I just had to know if you were ok--"
Suddenly Robotnik grabbed him by the jaw, shoving his pointer and index finger into his mouth to hold him in place. All Stone could think in that moment was fuck, fuck, fuck, I need him to this more often. Holy shiiiiiiit...
"Do you know why it's hard being the smartest person in the world?" Robotnik asked.
"Everyone else is stupid--"
"Stupid! Yes! You got that one!" Robotnik snapped, pulling his fingers out of Stone's mouth and wiping them on his jacket. "I saw the creature, Stone. It is an extraordinary life form. We need to capture it, neutralize it, uncover the source of it's power! And if it resists, we'll take it apart, piece by piece. See what makes it tick..." Robotnik put his sunglasses on, annoyance bubbling in him when he realized they were broken. "Stone."
"Yes, Ivo?"
"Call optical illusions. Tell them I need new frames. They know what I like." He grumbled, throwing the broken frames aside. "Oh, and grab that quill."
Stone followed the order, pocketing the quill and suppressing the annoyance he felt at being treated like an idiot. He had an IQ of 301, damnit. He's not an idiot! This shouldn't even effect him, Ivo will always be worlds smarter than him in every way. Although Stone may have one thing over him: emotional intelligence. Perhaps that was the one IQ point he had above him.
Stone was still obsessing over that when he was watching this Mr Wachowski guy and the blue creature mercilessly destroy Robotnik's machines, from his tank all the way down to the mini-nik, even avoiding being killed by a sticky bomb the size of a quarter. It was impressive, honestly. But they were still fugitives, dangerous criminals, so Stone couldn't be too impressed.
But he stupidly decided to voice at least a part of his amazement at their survival.
"Wow, they are real survivors, those two." Stone said, almost no realizing he had said it until Robotnik was stood up straight and glaring at him.
"Pin yourself to the wall." Robotnik ordered. Ugh, this shit again. Stone sighed, pressing himself against the wall with a hand on his chest, his binder feeling extra uncomfortable today. "Is the fetus stealing from what few brain cells you have or something, Stone?! That man and the creature are our enemy, you shouldn't be applauding them for escaping." Robotnik practically growled, right in Stone's face. He was being...nicer than usual about this though. Usually when Stone pinned himself to the wall, there was a lot more profanity hurled at him.
"You are aware my IQ is higher than yours?" Stone blurted out, almost immediately regretting it. "And this really isn't how you should be treating your romantic partner, especially one that's carrying your unborn child--"
"What do you mean you have a higher IQ than me?" Robotnik muttered in shock.
"301." Stone replied. "It really doesn't mean much, though. It's just one point , and you've said it yourself that IQ tests are highly inaccurate--"
"Stone?"
"Yes?"
"Shut up." Robotnik snapped, slamming their lips together messily. Stone made an awkward surprised sound, tangling his arms around Ivo's taller, lankier frame. As they pulled apart, Ivo caught the blue glow of the quill in Stone's jacket, pulling the fabric back and plucking it from his jacket. "Fascinating..." He murmured, before bringing it to his tongue for an experimental lick. Immediately his head jerked back, a jolt of energy shooting through his entire being. He took a second to compose himself before offering it to Stone, who politely declined.
Who the fuck in their right mind would electrocute themselves willingly?, Stone thought. Obviously, the answer was clear. Dr Ivo Robotnik would.
"Are you still wearing your damn binder, Stone?" Ivo suddenly asked.
"Yes." Stone awkwardly admitted, ignoring how it was suddenly a lot harder to breathe.
"Come on, genius. You're taking that thing off right now." Robotnik ordered, starting to peel away his jacket.
"It's fine, I can handle it. Please, just--" Stone cut himself off with a pained groan as the tightness of his binder bacame almost unbearable. "I need it. These stupid tits have only gotten bigger since I got pregnant, and I need to bind. I need to--"
"You need to listen to your body and let it do what it was made to do." Ivo grumbled. "It's completely natural, Stone. You're no less of a man than you were when we met. You're growing an entire human being who will need to be nourished when she's born, I won't judge you for having man boobs, damnit."
Stone couldn't help but chuckle at that. Man boobs. It was a quite fitting term. "Fine. But I'm gonna need some help getting this damn thing off."
"Gladly, Agent Stone..." Ivo teased, helping to unbutton his shirt and push it off his arms. He grimaced upon seeing how tightly the black fabric dug into his skin. "Alright, arms up."
Stone did as he was told, holding his arms above his head so Ivo could pull the fabric off of him. The relief was indescribable as he took several deep breaths, hardly even caring about how his man boobs were on full display.
"You are, without a doubt, the most perfect man I've ever seen." Ivo purred, eyes drifting down to his abdomen, to that perfect soft little bump. "I still can't believe she's real..."
"Can we agree to be a little, I don't know...nicer?" Stone asks. "At least with each other?"
"Anything for you, mister." Robotnik murmured, giving Stone another kiss. "Anything for you."
Chapter 4: Chapter Four
Summary:
It was supposed to be a simple operation: detain the alien creature, eliminate the Wachowskis, go home to cuddle Agent Stone all night. Why, oh why couldn't things have gone according to plan?

Chapter Text
Stone was waiting in the mobile lab for Robotnik to return from his little trip to San Francisco to capture the alien menace, when his phone rang in his pocket. It was an unknown number.
"Hello? Who is this?"
"Robotnik has been compromised. You are to return to DC immediately and disavow all knowledge of Dr Robotnik and his activities." A stern female voice ordered from the other end of the line.
"What do you mean compromised? What's happened?!" Stone was unable to hide the panic in his voice, a trembling hand resting over his abdomen, feeling the soft but small swell low in his abdomen.
"Dr Robotnik and his tech are implicated in the destruction of several landmarks and cities around the globe in an attack against a strange alien life form that appears to have started in--"
"Green Hills?" Stone cut her off, his heart pounding. It's not too late. He can get there. He can help defeat that stupid alien. They can live in fucking peace without a space hedgehog out there threatening everything they've built.
Stone hung up on the woman, grabbing his bike jacket and helmet before hopping on his motorcycle and driving as fast as he could to get back into town in Green Hills. It was a good thirty minute drive from where the lab was parked, and every second felt like an eternity. It felt like he was only going five miles an hour, even though he was close to breaking the damn sound barrier.
When he finally arrived in town, he found the streets in shambles, seeing the hedgehog stood in front of Robotnik's ship, blue lightning sparking and surging from it's body.
"This is my power!" It proclaimed, fists clenched. It sounded like...like it was just a kid. "And I'm not using it to run away anymore. I'm using it to protect my friends!"
The hedgehog slammed his body against the ship from all sides, heavily damaging the beautiful feat of engineering that was Robotnik's latest invention. He said something to Sheriff Wachowski nearby, and in response the man tossed something behind the ship. A shimmering gold portal in the shape of a ring appeared where the object had fallen, showing a world covered in mushrooms.
"No!" Stone yelled out, running towards Robotnik, but he was too late. The love of his life vanished through the portal, locking eyes with him at the last moment as they shared a look of grief and terror.
Stone stood there in shock, an arm wrapped around his midsection as all of his emotions hit him at once, amplified by the hormones. He watched as the citizens of this shithole town celebrated what that little monster had done.
No. No, no, no. This can't be happening. This can't be real. Everything was perfect. Everything was finally perfect. Why, oh why couldn't everything go according to plan?
"It's okay..." Stone whispered to his baby, leaning against the brick wall of the alley beside the small coffee shop as he struggled to process what had just happened. "Your daddy's the smartest man alive. He'll be home by christmas..." He tried to convince himself, tears pouring down his face.
Consumed by grief and desperation, he pulled his phone out and called the only person he could think to call. His sister Anira, who coincidentally lived just across the border in Canada near their family. She was probably only an hour away, two at the most. Although with her habit of breaking speed limits it would probably be more like thirty minutes.
"Yo, I haven't talked to in forever, Aban, what's up?" Anira said on the other end of the line when she picked up the phone.
"I...I need you, sis." Aban sobbed, crumpling to the ground.
"Shit, bro. Where are you at? I'll be there as soon as I can." She rushed out, and Stone could hear her searching for her keys in a scramble, knocking things over and scattering random things.
"Green Hills, Montana." Stone replied. "I'm, uh...at the coffee shop."
"Got it. Give me an hour, at the most. I'll be there as soon as I can, Aban. Do you want me to tell our folks? What's going on?"
"Just you. I don't...I don't want to tell them yet..."
"Ok. Got it. I'm in the car now, I'll be there soon, dude." Anira said. "Is it about your boss? The dude you have the crush on?"
"Yes..." Aban broke down even more, as if that was even possible.
"Shit. I swear to God, if he hurt you, I'll fucking kill him."
"That's not necessary, Annie." Aban replied. "He's already gone..."
-
Exactly 45 minutes later, Anira arrived at Green Hills, finding the roads absolutely trashed. She looked around by the coffee shop until she finally found her brother sitting in the alley, arms wrapped around his midsection and face soaked in tears.
"What happened here? Where's your boss?" Anira asked, worry wracking her nerves. "Where's anyone you work with?"
"He's gone." Aban sniffled, voice raw from crying. "He's on another planet. Some sort of... mushroom hell."
"I'm sorry, what the fuck?" Anira deadpanned, eyebrows all the way up.
"I know it sounds crazy, but I'm telling the truth." Aban continued. "We were called here to investigate a blackout, we were told it was a terrorist attack. But it wasn't, it was an...an alien. A blue, furry, super fast alien. It talked, it was intelligent. Well, intelligent as the average human being. It had these...rings. They could open portals to... wherever the fuck it wanted, I guess. And it...it sent Robotnik through one, to a planet covered in mushrooms. And I can't get to him, I can't get him back. I'm stuck here all alone, and I'm probably gonna have to raise our baby all alone--"
"You're PREGNANT?!" Anira shouted in shock. "And it's his?"
"Yes. It is, now please stop shouting. God..." Aban replied.
"Right. Sorry, forgot you were bad with loud noises when you're upset." Anira sighed, sitting down next to her brother. "How far along are you?"
"Ten weeks."
"Ten weeks? You're just over three months along and haven't told any of us?" Anira replied, at a loss for words.
"I just wasn't ready. I had wanted to enjoy this with him a little while longer..." Aban explained, suddenly realizing he didn't know where the hell he was going to go. "Would it be alright if I stayed with you a while?"
"Obviously, man. Whatever you need. I can even get you set up with my OB/GYN. She sees trans patients all the time, you'll be in good hands." Anira assures him.
"Really?" Aban asks, sniffling slightly.
"Yeah, Aban." She replied. "That's what family's for."
-
Once Stone got settled in the spare bedroom of Anira's apartment, he curled into a ball on the mattress, too overwhelmed to even cry anymore. He just stared out into the darkness, arms wrapped around his middle as the all consuming grief wracked his system. He wanted to scream, to cry, to rip his body apart, to be free from this existence and be reunited with Robotnik wherever the hell he was, even if it meant death, but he knew he couldn't go that far. He had to hold on, he had to push forward. Not just for himself, not just for his family, not just for Robotnik.
For their baby. For this last precious little piece of Robotnik that Stone still has.
Stone stood up slowly, standing in front of the full length mirror on the back of the door. He lifted his T-shirt up, one he had borrowed from Anira, and looked at his lower abdomen from the side. He saw the small swell of his baby bump, a physical sign of the life inside him. Of Robotnik's child, growing and developing in his body.
Tears of joy and grief trickled down his face as stared at his tiny bump, awestruck. This was the greatest gift Robotnik had ever given him.
Their greatest creation...
Notes:
Oh, yeah! Meet Agent Stone's twin sister/sibling, Anira Stone! She's Berrisexual and Genderfluid and uses she/they/he pronouns, she's gonna be with Aban for his pregnancy, being kind of his shoulder to cry on while he's separated from Ivo <3
Chapter 5: Chapter Five
Summary:
Robotnik finds himself trapped on the mushroom planet and entire universe away from his beloved Stone and their unborn child. With no other food source available, and a serious need to stay alive so he can get home to him, he's left to eating mushrooms. If only he'd known of the nightmarish hallucinogenic effect this particular species would have on him...
Notes:
Alright guys! Strap in, this one's gonna get heavy. Also I apologize for any inaccuracies, I have never done shrooms or been high/drunk on any substance for that matter. So I probably won't provide an accurate depiction of the mushroom's effects, although it is a space shroom soooo maybe earth shrooms rules don't apply? Either way Ivo's in for some EMOTIONAL DAMAGE.

Chapter Text
Robotnik's first thoughts upon waking up on this hellish mushroom covered hellhole were in light of recent events, fuck. His second thoughts were of the utter horror and devastation in Stone's eyes, and then his third thoughts were of panic over what the hedgehog may have done to Stone. He forced himself not to think of that, extricating himself from his wrecked prototype, cursing the hedgehog once again fo destroying such a marvelous feat of engineering and technology.
A few hours later, the hunger set in. His stomach roared for something, anything to eat. But everywhere, as far as the eye could see, there was only mushrooms. And he hated mushrooms. Had despised their texture and taste since he was a kid. But there was no other option, and he needed to stay fed if he was to make it back home.
So he selected a mushroom that his glove scanner had said was edible, a large blue puffball type with faint purple spots on it's cap. Very Alice in Wonderland, if he did say so himself. He was too hungry to bother rigging a hotplate tonight, so he just took a bite out of the raw cap, fighting the urge to gag at the texture. It didn't taste too bad, though. It was just a disgusting texture.
"Ugh, I hope to God that Stone doesn't start craving these monstrosities..." Ivo muttered to himself in an attempt to keep himself sane, his head suddenly becoming fuzzy as his vision spun momentarily. He gripped the ground beneath him to ground himself, trying his best to breathe evenly.
"Thought you didn't believe in God..." A disembodied voice said, it sounded like it was right next to him and yet inside his head all at once. He jerked his head up, making himself dizzy all of a sudden, and the fuzzy, blurred form of a person came into view. No, not just any person.
Stone.
"No, no, no. What are you doing here?" Ivo asked, his voice quaking. "You can't be here, Stone. The baby..." Ivo trailed off, squeezing his eyes shut to fight his tears.
"She's right here, Doctor." Stone murmured softly, and Ivo opened his eyes to see Stone holding a small blanket in his arms, looking at him with those adoring eyes just like always.
Robotnik approached the vision, mind definitely not working properly, but he didn't care. He's here, Stone's here. They're together. They're fine. They'll be fine.
But in the blink of an eye, the small bundle of blankets were suddenly soaked in blood and Stone was stood with his abdomen torn open as his innards hung out. Robotnik screamed in horror, scrambling backwards in an attempt to escape the horrific sight. His vision blurred and darkened, his head throbbing as he sobbed in despair.
"No! Why would you do this?! Why would you do this, Stone?!" Ivo shrieked, staring up at the figure resembling Stone as it approached him, an inhuman smile breaking its face in two.
"This was always going to happen, Ivo. Everything you love either dies, or it abandons you. You'll always be alone." The hallucination hissed in his own voice, suddenly morphing to look just like him. "Did you really think you'd live happily ever after with him? Grow up, Ivo. Nothing ever goes your way."
"Shut the fuck up!" Ivo snarled, grabbing a large rock next to him and swinging at the hallucination, watching as it turned to dust before him. He looked down at the rock, noticing how it's surface resembled some features of Stone's features.
"Stone?" He whispered to the rock, noting that the moss stuck to it even resembled his beloved's beard. "Thank God... you're alright." He sniffled, curling on the spongy, moist ground next to the stone. "I promise I'll be home before our baby gets here. I'm going to hold our baby, even if it's the last thing I do, I'm going to hold her..."
Sleep took him quickly, as he passed out on the soggy ground hugging a rock that bore an uncanny resemblance to his beloved, brain on fire from the mushroom he had eaten. His last conscious thought was 'I have 30 weeks to make it home, and every day counts. No matter what, I'm making It home in time to be with you when our child is born..'
-
Back on earth, Stone looked out the window at the night sky above, arms wrapped around his middle. A sad, melancholy song was playing through his earbuds, a song from an album his sister recommended to him due to his love of musicals.
Waiting, Odyssyeus when you come home I'll be waiting, even if you're the last thing I see I'll be waiting, waiting, waiting...
Anira lightly tapped his shoulder, handing him a mug of his favorite tea. It was an old chai recipe from their grandmother, and both Aban and Anira had long since learned it to a T.
"So your boyfriend's in space?" Anira murmured, sitting next to him on the balcony in the swinging bench, looking up at the clear night sky. "Guess you got yourself a real rocket man there."
"Stop it." Aban scoffed playfully. He had long learned to just deal with their humor at time like this. It was a coping mechanism of theirs, ever since childhood.
"You know, I think I remember that guy. From those lectures back in high school." Anira says suddenly. Aban's extremely red face gave it away immediately. "You had the biggest fucking crush on him despite him being literally the same age as our dad."
"You think I could help it?! I was a raging, hormonal teenager seeing someone who was a bit like me for the first time in my life." Aban tried and failed to defend himself.
"You mean someone that matched your freak?" Anira asked.
"For lack of a better wording...yes." Stone admitted.
"Well, hey, way to go on bagging him I guess. Just don't take the freak too far, or that baby's gonna come out quoting Fifty Shades of Grey." Anira jokes, causing Aban to nearly choke on his tea.
"That's horrible!" Aban laughed, smiling for the first time in the last few days.
"Got you to smile, didn't it?" Anira quipped as the song changed.
Let the arrows fly once you know that you aim is true, because I'd rather die than grow old without the best of you! Though I never thought these would be the lengths we'd go for love, I would not have it any other way, and though I never thought that it would end like this, just know I'll be here... waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting, ohh...

Chapter Text
~two months later~
Stone walked into the cozy two story house in the Canadian woods, setting his keys down in the designated bowl that sat atop a small desk by the front door. The house belonged to Robotnik, one of the scientist's several safehouses that were kept off of official record, purchased under an alias to protect it from G.U.N. There was even a secret lab in the basement, which Stone sometimes just sat in to feel close to Ivo again. The hum of machinery and the beep of a Badnik as it hovered near him were familiar enough that he could close his eyes and almost imagine they were back at the G.U.N lab, that Robotnik was still here, tinkering away on a commission for their superiors or working on a personal project.
But Robotnik wasn't here. And Stone was, for the most part, alone. Anira still came over on weekends, but for the rest of the week she had work at a little record shop in town. He never used to mind solitude, had actually longed to live in a house like this up in the woods somewhere, away from everyone else, but...he had always imagined Robotnik being with him. He couldn't picture his life without the scientist, especially now that they were having a baby.
Stone sat down on the soft dark grey couch, resting a hand on his five month belly. He wished Robotnik had been here when he first really started showing. He can only imagine the older man's reaction to his baby bump, the tears, the joy, the disbelief and probably a lot of 'I don't deserve this' or 'I really am the luckiest man alive'.
One of the few Badniks that were here at the safehouse hovered over to Stone's side. The agent recognized it as one he had named Daisy, much to Robotnik's initial annoyance. Daisy beeped softly, almost worriedly at him, settling beside him like a cat.
"I'm alright, girl. Just thinking about a lot of stuff..." Stone says, lightly petting her metal hull. She made a sound equivalent to a cat's contented purring, snuggling into him.
Stone suddenly felt a fluttering movement in his abdomen, causing his breathe to hitch as he sat silently trying to figure out what it was, because there's no way...
"Was that a...kick?" Stone asked Daisy, who reacted as though she'd felt it too, pressing herself against his belly knowingly. She gave an affirmative beep, despite probably not understanding a thing about this, and Stone nearly burst into tears of both joy at feeling his baby move for the first time, and sorrow at the fact Robotnik wasn't here to feel it.
"I wish your daddy was here to feel this right now, girl..." Stone sniffled to his baby and Daisy both. She gave a sad trill, seemingly looking up at Stone sympathetically. "I miss him. I miss him so goddamn bad."
-
Meanwhile, on what Robotnik had dubbed Mushroom Hell, he had been hard at work on what he had dubbed his masterpiece: a beacon of sorts, that would send a burst of light from the quill's energy out into the cosmos, so he could then hijack a ride from whoever came knocking.
As he walked back to his campsite after a long day of foraging and wrapping metal wire around the poles of the beacon, he looked up to the sky, looking at the alien constellations that had been growing terrifyingly familiar to him over the past two months. The planet's moon shined above, full and gleaming.
Robotnik collapsed onto his makeshift bed, pulling up the old sonogram image on his beat up watch, reminding himself once again what he was fighting for, what he was living for, what he would die for.
He was doing this for Aban, and their baby.
And if he had to, he would work himself to the bone to complete this beacon, he would fight exhaustion and insanity, he would do whatever it takes to keep them safe and get back to them.
He started singing a song to himself that had been stuck in his head all day, one that Stone used to hum in the lab when he probably thought Robotnik couldn't hear. It was from some animated musical the agent had liked, which Ivo had to admit he had enjoyed as well.
"You didn't know that when I tried this all before, my dreams were too hard to defend, and in the end, I won't lose it all again, now you're the only thing worth fighting for more than anything, more than anything, I'll shelter and adore you more than anything..."
-the next day-
Stone woke up to insistent knocking on his front door. A quick glance at the doorbell camera feed showed it was Anira, who was holding two medium sized bags in her arms and smiling ear to ear.
"Let me in, Bon-Bon. I know you're awake." Anira says to the doorbell cam. "I brought you a little something for the baby."
Groggily, Aban left his bed, making his way to the front door and opening it. "What is all this?"
"Well, I was with Mama yesterday helping her find something in the attic and I found some of our baby clothes from when we were little. She said you could have them for when the little nugget gets here." Anira explained. "I also wanted to visit you. I know I haven't seen you a lot since you moved in up here, so I wanted to give you some company."
Aban could just about start crying again, damn his hormones, but he held it together enough to invite her in. Daisy greeted her happily, thanks to Aban having made it clear to them that his sister wasn't a threat. Anira was initially understandably nervous around the Badniks, but now they were just like weird metal cats to her, especially Daisy.
"Hey, Daisy. How's my favorite girl doing?" Anira says, setting the bags down so she could give the drone a pet.
"Ivo would probably be pissed if he saw that." Aban chuckled. "Or say something about us definitely being related."
"He'd probably call us the most identical fraternal twins he'd ever seen, right?" Anira says with a smirk, going over to the kitchen area to make herself some coffee. Noticing his silence, Anira looked over to see Aban leaned against the kitchen island with a hand over his bump, an unreadable expression on his face. "You okay? Is something wrong?"
"She's kicking again." Aban whispered, breath trembling as he tried to hold back his emotions.
"She's what?!" Anira exclaimed, rushing over to place her hands on his bump. "Holy shit, I can feel it..."
"You can?"
"Yeah. Damn, she kicks harder than you, bro." Anira teases.
"Hey, I can kick pretty hard." Aban replied, rolling his eyes. "I broke a guy's leg in half once."
"Christ, what did he do to you?" Anira asks, taken back.
"Punched Robotnik in the face." Aban replied nonchalantly, as if his reaction had been completely equivalent and justified.
"Jeez, you really are down bad..."
And Stone agreed that yes, he was down bad.
Very bad.

~two months later~
"Doctor Fowler told you to take it easy, Aban." Anira says, raising an eyebrow as she watched her brother stubbornly hanging a mobile above the crib.
"I needed something to do." Aban explains with a shrug, adjusting the height of the mobile. It had little planets and stars hanging from it, matching the space theme he'd picked for the rest of the room. "If I just sit there doing nothing, I..."
Anira let out a sigh, heart aching in understanding. She'd been right here with him the past four months, after all. Through every bad night and depression, everytime Aban started to break, when his grief over Robotnik threatened to destroy him.
"How about I get you set up with your switch and a movie?" Anira suggests. "Would that give you something to do?"
"I guess." Stone relents groggily as he stretched his back, which was aching and tired from the added weight of his bump.
"Alright, then. Wanna watch Immaculate, First Omen, or Rosemary's Baby?" Anira teased, earning a eyeroll from her brother as they walked into the living room.
"How about Batman Forever?" Aban counters. Anira chuckles as she puts in the DVD, shaking her head.
"You and your Jim Carrey." Anira teased. "Ever since you were a kid, all you wanted to watch when you were upset was The Mask and Batman Forever."
"He's comforting, what can I say?" Aban replied, settling on the couch with the switch Anira had gotten him and pulling up Animal Crossing. It was a good game for him to play to just take his mind off everything, plus he found the whole game adorable, especially the coffee/cafe and space themed items.
But nothing could sufficiently make him forget the aching grief in his heart, the way he longed for Robotnik to be by his side again. The closer he got to his due date, the more afraid he was that he may have to do this alone. That he may not have Robotnik by his side when their baby came into the world.
Daisy settled between them on the Sofa, beeping softly as Anira petted her like a cat. The movie played on in the background, acting more as white noise than anything else. Aban's eyelids began to droop, growing more and more tired by the second.
Eventually he ended up falling asleep on the sofa, Anira draping a blanket over him and putting a throw pillow under his head.
Anira left the tv on a lower volume and turned off the big light, leaving a lamp on for him before settling in the recliner herself. "Sleep tight, Bon-Bon. You need it..."
-
Robotnik sat down beside the rock he'd named Stone, taking a sip of his latest attempt at mushroom coffee, spluttering as he spat it out immediately.
"God, I miss your lattes, Stone..." He lamented to himself, holding the quill in his other hand. "At least the beacon is nearly finished. I'll be back before you know it, love."
Robotnik's eyes snapped up to the half constructed beacon. "Speaking of which! I'm nearly finished with my masterpiece, the beacon that will get me off this portobello hellhole." He announced, abandoning the failed mushroom coffee and making his way over to the beacon. Climbing the ladder was no easy feat for his aching joints, but by Newton he didn't care about the pain.
He had more important things to focus on. Like finishing this beacon and getting home to his beloved Aban and their baby. Robotnik had sworn to himself from day one that he would strive to be the best father he could be. The cycle of Robotniks being shitty parents would end with him, and he would give his little girl or boy the entire world. They would grow up never doubting how much they were loved, would never have to go without anything.
Oh, he was certain. He was going to spoil them rotten. Rotten to the core.
"I wonder if they'll have your eyes, Aban." Robotnik pondered to himself, wrapping wires and checking connections on the beacon. "Or your smile, or your heart. Tesla knows you already have mine. And when I get back to you, I'm going to tell you every chance I get. You and our baby will never doubt that I love you both with my entire being." Robotnik pauses to clear some tears from his eyes, annoyed by their presence. "I never thought this was... even possible. It had certainly never been in the cards, you know. Relationships, intimacy...family. I never had one you know? Of course you know. I know their names, I've seen their face in pictures. My birth parents. Ivan and Gwendolyn Robotnik. My mother died in childbirth, my father took me to the orphanage a few months later, left a note saying he wanted to spare me from the Robotnik family curse or some bullshit like that. I always took it as him not knowing how or just not wanting to raise me on his own. Like I was that much a fucking burden." Robotnik scoffed angrily, pulling the wire in his hands a bit tight.
"I don't know, but honestly? Who fucking needs him? He probably would have been a shit father to me, anyway. Probably would have screwed me up more than the damn orphanage did. And I probably would have never...never met you. Who knows if I still would have worked for G.U.N, if you still would have gotten assigned to me all those years ago..." He trailed off, emotions clogging his throat.
"I can't believe you've been with me nearly a decade. When you first arrived, all I wanted was to get rid of you. I thought I didn't need a babysitter hovering in my lab, didn't need your presence constantly hovering, always there waiting and ready to assist me. Grab that tool, fetch me a latte, sort through those fucking emails. But goddamn it, I do. I think I realized that in your sixth month working with me. And about two months after that, I started to...to fucking get attached to you. When you had made it the year, I decided to tell Walters you would be staying permanently. The stupid smug grin on that geriatric olive's face was worth suffering just to be sure you were always going to be mine. My agent, my assistant, my fucking babysitter, my...my everything."
Robotnik fell silent for a moment, breathing shakily. He had never properly sorted through his feelings towards his agent before, and it was all...a lot.
"I don't think I properly realized it was more than possessiveness or selfishness until about a year ago. I didn't know how to proceed with trying to change our relationship to something beyond professionalism, so I...ugh, fine! I'll admit it! I booked that hotel room! I booked the honeymoon suite, Valentine's Day was a lucky coincidence. I had even added that song to your playlist, I had heard you humming it before. I wasn't even all that intoxicated, but clearly you thought I was, you made as much clear the next morning. When you started saying all that stuff about it not having to become anything more than a one time thing, I began to think that maybe...when you had said you loved me that night, it was just something that has slipped out in the heat of passion, that it didn't mean anything."
The tears were flowing freely now, making it hard for Robotnik to focus on the work in front of him.
"It hurt, it fucking hurt. I had...I had been incredibly vulnerable with you, gave myself to you body and soul. The two weeks after that were the worst of my goddamn life. I felt disgusting, defiled, fucking...used. I thought I had been rejected. But then you came in that fateful day, and said you were pregnant with my child, and I...I had never been that happy. Suddenly I had everything I had wanted for so long, right there in front of me. Everything was perfect, finally fucking perfect."
He paused again, hands tightening around a clamp as his they shook.
"But then that...spiny blue speed freak came along, and ripped it all away. I don't even know if you're still alive back on earth. But God, I hope you are. You're the only thing keeping me going. Without you, I wouldn't be doing any of this right now. I probably would have resigned myself to my fate a long time ago on this piece of shittake planet... but I haven't, because I cant. You need me, our baby needs me. I have to keep working, I have to get home. For you, and our little eggy weggy."
Robotnik wiped away the tears, turning his focus back to the task at hand. He held the clamps in hand, one holding the quill. "But for now, let's light this candle... and see who comes knocking..."

Chapter Text
Robotnik laid completely still on the ground, listening to the crunch of footsteps as the scavenger's approached. One of them poked him with their spear before reaching for the quill in his hand. At that instant he triggered one of the traps he had rigged, which sent one avian creature flying through the air and left the other one crushed by a mushroom stalk.
"Agent Stone? Now!" He said as he triggered another trap, the rock he had named Stone being flung at the others.
"Daddy's coming home." Robotnik says determinedly, running full speed at the ring portal before him. He skidded to a stop at the sight of a silhouetted form walking through, falling to the ground as he laid eyes upon yet another alien anthropomorphic animal, a red one this time, with purple eyes and massive fists that had two knuckle spikes on them each.
Are you fucking kidding me? Robotnik thinks to himself as the creature approaches, the portal closing behind it. It's eyes looked down to the quill, anger flaring in its eyes as it looked back up to him. "Where did you get that quill?" It growled, teeth clenched. Clearly it had some serious beef with that blue gumball son of a bitch.
"From a little blue menace on the planet called earth." Robotnik replied. "I can show you the way if you take me there."
The red creature eyed him suspiciously for a moment before handing a ring to Robotnik. "You just have to picture where you want to go and then throw the ring." It explained. "You're the one who's been there."
Robotnik took a deep breath, conjuring up the memory of the Wachowski's house before tossing the ring down. A shimmering gold portal opened, and the house was visible on the other side. He stepped through slowly, taking a deep breath of Earth's air. He could have cried at the sight of the trees, of the grass, of anything besides mushrooms as far as the eye could see.
"Are you coming?" The red alien asked.
"I would very much love to take revenge on the hedgehog, but for now I have somewhere very important to be." Robotnik replied, tapping on his massive wrist watch as he pulled up Stone's location. According to the tracker in his watch, he was in the safehouse in Canada. At least he's safe, Robotnik assures himself.
"What is your name, human?" The creature asked as Robotnik began to walk away.
"Dr Ivo Robotnik." He replied, suppressing an eye roll. "Do you have a name?"
"Knuckles the Echidna. I am an Echidna warrior, trained since birth in all forms of lethal combat, and it is my destiny to take revenge on the hedgehog and restore honor to my tribe." Knuckles replied, his voice booming with pride and determination. "You have been a helpful ally in my quest, Robotnik. I will remember your name when I return to my planet victorious with the hedgehog's head on a pike."
"Now you're speaking my language, Echidna." Robotnik laughs. "I'll be seeing you next time. Today, there's a man I have to see."
"Very well." Knuckles said before heading up to the house.
Robotnik headed up into town, finding a motorbike parked outside a coffee shop. It was child's play to hotwire it, and soon enough he was speeding off towards Stone's location, all thoughts focused on the fact that he was finally going to get back to Stone. After all these months-- how many had it been? Four months? Holy shit. That would mean Stone is... seven months along now.
I missed so much, Robotnik realizes, as he drives along the interstate, pushing every speed limit along the way.
-
Stone was sat on the couch, reading a book as the movie The Number 23 played on the TV in the background. The baby kicked sharply in his belly, making him wince softly.
"Jeez, kiddo." Stone sighed, rubbing his bump. "You've definitely got my roundhouse kick, good grief."
Stone very nearly dozed off on the couch until there was an insistent knock on the door. It was odd his ring doorbell hadn't gone off, and he knew it wasn't Anira, because she always knocked in a specific pattern. So Stone stood up from the couch as quickly as he could with his bump, grabbing his gun from beneath the cushions and calling Daisy over to him just in case. He slowly opened the door, raising his gun.
He stared in utter disbelief at the sight of Robotnik standing before him. He blinked several times, mind blanking in shock.
"Aban..." Robotnik said shakily, tears threatening to spill from his eyes. He looked down at Stone's belly, at the sight of his baby bump. His heart swelled with emotion at the realization of how much their baby has grown in the months he'd been gone. "Aban, I...missed you so much..."
"Is it really you?" Stone asked, his gun now lowered as the tears fell freely.
"It's me." Robotnik whispered, a shaky hand reaching up to hold Stone's face. The older man broke in that moment, pulling him into a desperate kiss. Stone dropped his gun, throwing his arms around Robotnik's neck. Their tears mixed together on their faces, hands pulling desperately at each other.
Daisy nudged Robotnik's side, trying to slot herself under his arm. The doctor chuckled softly, breaking the kiss to look down at the Badnik fondly. "Did you miss me, babygirl?" He asked her softly, to which she beeped affirmatively, bobbing up and down excitedly as though she was nodding. "I missed you too, Daisy."
"You used to hate that I had named her." Stone chuckled, wiping the tears from his face.
"I missed you too much to give a damn about that anymore." Robotnik replied, resting a hand on Stone's bump. "I wish I had been here for this. I missed so much..."
"We'll just have to make the most of every moment now." Stone whispers, leaning his head against Ivo's shoulder, savoring that smell that was so uniquely Robotnik, noticeable even beneath the scent of mushrooms and grime from that planet. "For starters, we should get you into a shower. You need it."
"Would you join me?" Robotnik asked, already knowing the answer deep in his bones.
"Of course."
-
After their shower, Stone and Robotnik laid in their queen sized bed as they basked in each other's embrace. Ivo's hands cupped Stone's belly, amazed by every movement he felt beneath his hands. Stone had burst into tears the first time Robotnik got to feel their baby kicking during their shower, leading Ivo to start crying as well.
Robotnik pressed his lips against Stone's neck, trailing lazy kisses along his neck and shoulder. Aban sighed, leaning back against Ivo as the older man's arms held him safe and secure. He noted that Robotnik had gained a bit of muscle during his time on that planet, not much but it was noticeable when compared to how thin he had been before.
"You still look beautiful, Aban." Robotnik whispered, looking into those big brown doe eyes that had stolen his heart. "I love you so much it's... unfathomable, Stone."
"I love you more, Ivo." Stone whispered, finally able to fully relax for the first time in four months.
"That's physically impossible, darling..." Robotnik teased, taking Stone's hand in his.
"I do, though." Stone insisted. "And I would fall in love with you over and over again. I've been waiting for you, and I'm no going anywhere. I'm yours."
"And I'm yours." Robotnik replied, eyelids growing heavy.
"Goodnight, Ivo." Aban whispered.
"Goodnight, Aban."

Chapter Text
~One week later~
Robotnik had settled into this new life with Stone quite easily. It was almost surreal to wake up in a soft, warm bed after having to wake up to mushroom hell for so long. There was nothing better than waking up to find Stone's warm, soft body snuggled in his arms, watching the younger man sleep peacefully. Neither of them had slept properly until Robotnik returned, that much was clear from the dark circles Stone was sporting that fateful night.
Currently Robotnik was stood on the back porch, looking at the small black box in his hands. It contained a ring he had gotten just two days before that whole mess with the hedgehog started. A metal band with a stripe of deep purple amethyst between two thick bands of black metal. He thought it was ridiculous to feel this anxious about proposing, but goddamnit it was eating him alive.
The sound of the door closing behind him pulled him from his thoughts, and then Stone was beside him holding a freshly made latte. His smile practically split his face in half, eyes shining with admiration. "I thought you'd like a latte, Ivo."
"Thank you, love." Robotnik replied, eagerly accepting the drink.
"What were you looking at?" Stone asks, and Robotnik's heart skipped a beat, hands shaking slightly as he took sip of his latte.
"A ring." Robotnik explained, taking a deep breath. "An engagement ring, to be exact."
"Seriously?" Stone asked, looking like he was on the verge of tears. "Oh my god...oh my...how long have you had it?"
"I got it two days before I got sent to that piece of shittake planet." Robotnik admitted, handing the box over to Stone. "I'll admit, this isn't how I imagined this going, but--"
Robotnik was cut off by the now familiar sound of Stone holding back a sob, looking over to see him looking at the ring with tears running freely down his face. "Are you okay?" He asked, setting his latte on the patio railing and taking Stone's face in his hands.
"I just can't believe it." Stone whispered, looking up at him with so much love in his eyes it shouldn't have been possible. "I spent four months wondering if I'd ever see you again, and now you're back in my life, and you're giving me an engagement ring that you got two days before you had disappeared. I'm sorry, it's just a lot to take in, and the stupid pregnancy hormones aren't helping..."
Robotnik took a deep breath, steadying himself before he spoke. "Aban Stone...will you marry me?"
"Yes, of course I fucking will." Stone whispered shakily, pulling Robotnik into a kiss. Sobs racked his body as tears of joy poured from his eyes. They pulled apart a moment later, Stone as he felt their baby squirming about inside him. "I think she's celebrating with us."
"I agree." Robotnik replied, hands gently resting over Stone's bump. "In fact, I believe she's dancing."
Stone laughed at that, a real genuine laugh. He leaned his head against Robotnik's shoulder, sighing happily. "I can hardly wait to meet her."
"Me either, Aban." Robotnik murmured, heart swelling with so much love he thought it might burst. "Me either."
-
Later that night, Anira arrived at the house after Stone had asked her to come over. She had been over maybe twice since Robotnik's return, has met him obviously, and was glad her brother had his boyfriend back but honestly had been missing him.
She barely had time to knock on the door before Stone had opened it, excitement clear on his face. "Someone's happy to see me." She said, a slightly confused smile on her face.
"Come on in." Stone says, stepping aside. He giddily walked over to where Robotnik was now stood, holding onto his hand. "The reason I called you over is because there's something I wanted to tell you..."
"Well, spit it out, man. I didn't drive up here for tension." Anira says playfully.
"We're engaged." Stone says, his smile blinding as it threatened to split his face.
"Fuck, it's about goddamn time!" Anira exclaims, suddenly wrapping Stone and Robotnik both in a hug. The scientist just stood awkwardly while Stone happily accepted the contact and wrapped his arms around his sister. "We've gotta tell Mama and Baba in the morning, they're gonna be thrilled! Shit, have you guys set a date yet?"
"Not yet, Annie. Not yet." Aban says, grinning like a lunatic still.
"Fuck, I'm so happy for you, Bon-Bon." Anira says. "You finally look like yourself again now that he's back."
"I feel like myself again, too." Stone replied.
It was true.
Stone was only truly himself when he was with Robotnik nowadays...

Chapter 10: Ten
Summary:
Stone and Robotnik finally get to meet their greatest creation.
Chapter Text
~two months later~
Robotnik was down in his basement lab doing maintenance checks on his Badniks when he heard a yelp and a crash from upstairs. He bolted up the stairs, finding Stone leaning against the kitchen counter clasping his bump with a pained expression. There was a broken mug on the floor that once contained a freshly made latte which was now spilled on the ground amongst the broken ceramic.
"Is it the baby? What's wrong?" Robotnik asked, rushing to Stone's side.
"I think I'm having contractions..." Stone whispered, breath coming in short, pained gasps.
"Okay. Infirmary, come on." Robotnik says, guiding Stone to the designated room. Stone had already decided that he wanted to do this at home, preferably with Robotnik by his side. They had already made a birth plan a month ago, and had agreed to have Dr Fowler's number ready should any complications arise.
Robotnik got Stone comfortable on the bed, calling over Daisy to monitor his vitals. The Badnik nuzzled into Stone after finishing her scans, beeping worriedly.
"I'm okay, Daisy. Your little sister's just gonna be here soon." Stone assures the bot, petting her hull.
"I think she'll have to wait a little longer to meet her sister." Robotnik says. "You're only three centimeters dilated."
"Doesn't surprise me." Stone whispered, doing his best to keep breathing evenly. "My mom said she was in labor the whole night with Anira and I."
"We may be in for a similar experience." Robotnik replied, taking Stone's hand in his. "But no matter what happens, I'll be right here."
"I love you." Stone whispered, squeezing Robotnik's hand in his.
"I love you too, Aban..."
~a few hours later~
Stone groaned as another contraction seized his body, only two minutes after the previous one. He'd been in labor for most of the day now, and it was going on 9:00 at night. Robotnik was currently helping him walk as they tried using movement to encourage things along once more, Stone clasping onto Robotnik tightly while Daisy helped to support him as well.
"We should check your dilation again." Robotnik says gently, helping Stone back over to the bed.
"I don't know how much more of this I can take." Stone panted, hands clutching the sheets. "I'll never how my younger sister Ayesha did this. I definitely don't know how my mom did this three times."
"Your mother is a strong lady, and I know for a fact that you got her strength times ten. You can do this, Aban." Robotnik encouraged him, returning to his side. "You're fully dilated. It's time. Are you ready?"
"Okay." Stone replies shakily, taking his hand.
-
The unimaginable pain was 100% worth it, Stone decided, as he lay in the infirmary bed holding his baby daughter. Robotnik was sitting beside him in the bed, admiring their perfect little girl with tears shining in his eyes. She had tan skin and ginger hair with light streaks throughout it. She had inherited Robotnik's hazel eyes, which already sparkled with curiosity and wonder at the world around her.
"She's so perfect." Robotnik whispered, completely in awe of his daughter.
"I agree." Stone sighed, gazing at her now sleeping form. "Our eggy is perfect."
"Sage." Robotnik corrected. "Sage Stone-Robotnik."
"That's her name." Stone sniffled, smiling fondly. "Welcome to the world, Sage. Your life is going to be incredible."
