Chapter Text
“Good thing I didn’t bring Mr. Cow; he would melt in this heat! Ehehe~” Sayori walks down the sidewalk in her bikini, intending to take advantage of the hot summer day to have fun at the beach, as suggested by her therapist. The sun shines down on her scantily clad body, leading her to blush as a few people turn to look at her. She wishes she thought to wear her casual clothes until she actually got to the beach, but it wasn’t a big deal as the beach was soon in view.
She doesn’t go out much these days, staying cooped up in her house for a good chunk of her life. But, after finally getting a therapist, she’s been encouraged to go out and enjoy the sunlight. Her therapist never tried to claim having fun outdoors was a cure for her depression, but that it would be a massive help, especially if she went with friends later on.
The beach itself is fairly packed, and this made her a little nervous, but it was hardly enough to dissuade her from taking the plunge and having fun out there. Walking out onto the beach, she takes a beach towel from her bag and sets it down. With no umbrella, she knows she’d have to put on sunscreen soon, but for now, she just sits down and enjoys the vibe of the beach. Hearing people talking and having fun, hearing the sound of the wind and the waves of the ocean. It’s truly serene.
Before going this far, she tried asking one of the other members of the literature club if they’d like to join, but they were all busy with family stuff, so she ended up having to go on her own. It’s not all bad though, because it means she can check out the beach herself to see if it’s good enough for her friends! And so far, it’s great!
Speaking of her friends, she pulls her phone out of her bag real quick to see if she’s got anything… and lo and behold, she’s got a text from Monika! It was sent only about a minute after she left to walk to the beach. “Hey, Sayo, how’s the beach?” She then immediately followed it up with “Or, wait, are you at the beach yet? Might’ve texted you too soon lol”
Sayori can’t help but giggle. She loves all her friends, but Monika always brought her the most smiles. “I just got here! It’s really nice and sunny and pretty!” She smiles upon hitting send. Even in her darkest hours, Monika’s always been there for her. Noticing Monika isn’t responding to this one, likely away from her phone now to focus on studies, she sets her phone back in her bag and lets out a sigh of relief…
But relaxation isn’t just why she’s here. She’s here to have fun, so fun she will have! Standing up and grinning, she sprints towards the ocean. She feels the cool wind brush through her hair and against her skin, a reminder of the beach’s beauty. She pauses as her feet get soaked, slowing her pace and walking into the ocean, letting the seawater encompass her body until it pauses at her neck, almost completely submerged in water.
She can’t help but giggle as the water grazes and tickles her body all over. Ever since she was little, she’s loved going to the beach and swimming in the ocean. After the depression hit hard, she never really wanted to go back, so finally going back and experiencing this again was equally fun and nostalgic. There’s no doubt about it, she HAS to bring the other girls sometime!
The waves are heavy, and only get heavier as she drifts away from the beach. It’s in her moment of oceanic bliss that the waves hit her with enough force to dislodge her bikini knots entirely. Her bikini slips off as it gets swept into the ocean, but she merely laughs at the hard-hitting wave, unaware that they have just stolen her bikini, as she continues swimming as though nothing is wrong.
After a bit more swimming, she decides she’s done hanging out in the water, and wants to see if the others have texted her back at all. Swimming towards the shore, she eventually makes it on dry land and walks out of the water. The cool ocean saltwater is definitely different from a bath, but it doesn’t feel half bad at all! She giggles as she finally leaves the water.
But as she walks back to her towel, she can’t help but notice something feels off. The mood of the beach has changed a bit, at least around her. But no, it’s probably just in her head, right? Everyone’s still enjoying themselves, and she doesn’t notice anything weird upon looking around. Thinking about it, she isn’t really in a rush, she could walk around the beach a little, enjoy the sights while she still can.
So she goes walking down the shore a little. The warm sun feels amazing on her skin. She considered getting a one-piece swimsuit, but after soaking up this sun, she’s glad she nabbed a two-piece; it just feels right!
She walks for a few minutes. It’s all nice and beautiful so far… but that feeling is back again. Something’s off, but she can’t figure out why. The sun’s shining, there’s no sign of a change in weather at all, it’s still nice and warm out… but it finally hits her.
It’s not the beach itself that feels off. People… are staring at her. But why? What’s drawing their ire so suddenly? “C’mon, I’m not that pretty…” She says to herself, as though everyone would agree.
But why would they be staring, if not attraction? Is something off about her? Did something from the ocean get stuck to her? She looks down at herself to inspect, and sees… a sight she really, really hoped she would never see while spending her time here.
She’s naked. She’s truly, completely naked from head to toe. No bikini, no flip-flops, no accessories, just… her. Her sizable breasts, her hardening nipples, the small tuft of hair between her legs… It’s all fully visible. But how?? How’d she not notice this sooner? How long has she been strolling the beach completely naked??
It takes only a few seconds for her to realize that this isn’t all a bad dream or nightmare.
“A-AAAAHHH!!” She yells in sheer embarrassment, but that only makes it worse. Even more eyes are gazing upon her naked body now, and she realizes she probably should’ve remained silent. She tries to cover herself, but her boobs make that, well, not the easiest thing in the world. She covers her pussy well enough, but her boobs escape her arm easily, and she doesn’t even realize she’s left one totally exposed.
“Ok, that’s enough time at the beach!” she thinks to herself, trying to calm her nerves as she rushes to her beach towel, packing up as quickly as she can. The one time she doesn’t bring her normal clothes, and it’s the day she loses her bikini. She can’t help but wonder if the rest of the literature club being here would make this better or worse. They’d help her, no doubt, but she’s not really looking to expose herself to her friends…
Or… maybe that wouldn’t be so bad? They are her friends after all… No, what’s she thinking?! She can’t let them see her naked like this! Especially after an accident! Packing her bag, she carries it with the shoulder strap and makes a break for it, ignoring all other beach-goers and failing to realize she could cover herself with the beach towel she brought, amidst her haste.
She makes it to the entrance of the beach and pauses to catch her breath. Public nudity is perfectly legal here, so she’s not at risk of being arrested, but she’s not exactly looking to go showing off, either. Further away from public eyes, she finally finds a way to cover herself a little… by positioning her bag in front of her to cover her pussy! Genius! That does still leave her boobs, but she can use her other arm for that.
The good news is that the streets are mostly empty. It’s still a hot day, and people are either at the beach or staying at home with the A/C on, leaving the streets largely unoccupied, though there are a few people here and there. The bad news is that the beach is also a pretty big walking distance from home; a few dozen blocks that make up about a mile, give or take.
Deciding she’s stood here long enough, her heart racing, she starts walking, not wanting to break into a sprint immediately. The sun is at a good angle, and some buildings’ shadows are casting pretty nicely, so to minimize herself being seen, she sticks to the shadows and along the walls.
Despite this, a few people do see her, gazing at her body with growing blushes upon their faces. She tries to play it cool by waving, but in doing so, she fully exposes her boobs, only causing them to stare at her for longer. “H-Heyyy~?” She tries to speak casually to the passersby, though she can’t help but wonder if she should be prioritizing her cover more. This is super embarrassing, but it almost feels like it should be more embarrassing than it is… what’s up with that?
Regardless, she sees a bus stop nearby. A bus would let her get home quicker, but the last thing she wants to do is step into a public bus with no clothes to her name. That’s just asking for trouble, and more attention she doesn’t want. Everyone staring at her on the bus like that…
As she walks, she hears a notification emit from her phone. Pausing this walk of shame down the street in the buff, she quickly pulls her phone out of her bag. It’s Monika, but what’s she texting her about?
“Heyy! How’s the beach?” It makes sense that she’d think Sayori’s still at the beach. Monika doesn’t even know she’s naked, and Sayori can’t help but giggle slightly at that notion as she writes her reply.
“nope! Im on my way home now! Didn’t wanna spend too long at the beach without you” She blushes. “-without you guys!” There. She keeps an eye out, but doesn’t spot anybody too close. She does spot an open alleyway nearby, which she keeps a mental note of just in case she needs to escape.
But as she spots the front door of a nearby theater opening up, she realizes she might have to utilize that hiding space now. Nearly dropping her phone, she rushes into the alleyway and peeks around the corner, as dozens of people step out, nearly filling the streets. A movie must’ve ended. Her phone pings with another text from Monika.
“Aw, really? Darn, I was gonna try and surprise you there!” Monika replied… She was? Sayori blushes a little, but sighs. Of course she was going to surprise her, she should’ve been at the beach longer! She beats herself up, almost forgetting the entire reason she left in the first place was because her bikini went missing.
“Oh, it’s ok! If you wanna hang out, I’ll be home soon!” Sayori replies. ‘Soon’ being however long it takes for her to streak all the way home. She waits for Monika’s response, but… nothing. That’s weird… But no, it makes total sense. Monika probably got bored of the conversation and left…
Sayori looks up, planning on peeking around the corner to see if everyone’s gone… only to see Monika standing at the entrance of the alley, staring at Sayori in stunned, blushed silence… and it’s at this point that Sayori realizes… she hasn’t been covering herself, at all. She’s fully exposed herself to her best friend.
Almost in-sync, Sayori begins covering herself as Monika quickly covers her bright red face. “I-I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry!!” Monika lets out, feeling shameful for staring at her best friend in such a vulnerable state, even if she does ultimately love what she sees.
Sayori quickly covers herself, though it’s in vain as Monika’s already seen everything. “I- I, uh- M-Monika, I-” She stutters a bunch, struggling to get her words out. “I lost my bikini at the beach!!” She finally lets out. Monika glances over a couple times, clearly trying and failing to maintain any ounce of modesty. Sayori doesn’t mind all too much… But why is that? It lingers in her mind longer than she’d like… But no, it’s because she’s too concerned over being naked in public, yes! No other reason!
“Y-You didn’t bring any other clothes with you??” Monika asks. Sayori thought about it before, but decided against it, and now she feels stupid. Of course she should’ve taken her clothes! Why’d she leave them behind in the first place? Convenience?
Regardless, Monika picks up on the answer from Sayori’s lack of a response. “R-Right, um… W-What should I do, then? I- I don’t know how I can help…” It is awfully sweet of Monika, wanting to help Sayori so much, trying to maintain her modesty, even if she isn’t doing very well at it. It’s very thoughtful. But again, Sayori doesn’t respond.
“H-How did you lose your bikini, anyway? Was it like… Was it stolen? Did it slip off?” Monika asks. Interestingly enough, it was both. Slipped right off and stolen by the ocean. Sayori explains what happened, how the beach took her bikini when she had no idea… and how she momentarily walked across the beach with nothing on whatsoever.
Monika’s face flushes red as she hears Sayori recall her story. She’s at a loss for words. Up to this point, she’d assumed this dating sim, Doki Doki Literature Club, would be rated low enough to prevent any NSFW storytelling… Yet here she is, standing in front of her nude best friend who just lost her bikini at the beach. Perhaps there’s more to this dating sim than even she realizes within the code. She has a quick look at the code while here, not really realizing she’s left Sayori’s story with no response.
“I’m… I’m halfway there, just… I’ll be fine!” Sayori says, trying to reassure herself. Monika looks at Sayori as though in disbelief. Her friend is stuck outside naked in public, and she’s just going to keep at it? Push on through as though she has nothing left to lose? She can’t help but admire that, even if it is somewhat contradicting her embarrassment. “Oh, a-and don’t tell the others!!” Sayori blurts out.
“W-Well, um… a-alright…” Monika steps aside, looking away once more. “G-Good luck!” After looking down the street to see if she’s good to go, she thanks Monika before stepping out of the alley and continuing her walk. Her best friend seeing her do this wasn’t exactly good, but at least it didn’t go as bad as she expected it would.
That could apply to this entire situation, truthfully. Yes, it’s been embarrassing, but… not really as embarrassing as she thought it’d be. She doesn’t know how to put it into words, it’s just not as bad as she thought. It is still embarrassing, however, as she covers herself on the walk home. Once again, she passes by a couple people, a little more willing to spare a hand to wave their direction.
As she walks home, a thought comes to mind… Has anyone taken a picture of her? She’s passed a few people here and there, but after passing them, she’s kept her back turned. They could’ve taken pics, and she wouldn’t even know. Now that’s a scary thought. Complete strangers just having pictures of her naked body…
But it could be worse, right?
Yeah, this isn’t so bad.
After a bit more walking and a few more strangers eyeing her up, she finally makes it home. Unlocking the front door of her house, she steps in, shuts the door behind her, and locks it tight, letting out a big sigh of relief. She’s lucky her mom isn’t home, or she’d have a LOT of explaining to do. She opens her phone and sends a quick “im home” to Monika, setting her phone down while awaiting a response.
Being home alone, she doesn’t attempt to cover herself, nor does she prioritize putting clothes on. Wow is her heart racing like mad! She was just completely naked, in public, and she lived to tell the tale! Now that’s a feat!
Admittedly, however, that adventure has made her… curious. Turning on her computer, she starts looking things up. If she’s experienced a situation like this, surely other people have too, right?
She looks up various storytelling websites, trying to look for stories of other people experiencing similar things. Walking in public naked, whether it’s because of lost clothes or a dare of some kind. She’s curious what other people think of these situations.
Meanwhile, Monika’s at her own home, or rather, the house programmed by this dating sim. She likes it, it’s a pretty standard house, though it does feel a little empty. She lives here alone, which is for the best. She doesn’t want to work around any parents or roommates, considering how she messes with the game’s code.
Her phone goes off. It’s a text from Sayori. She’s made it home safely, that’s good! Monika smiles and simply reacts to the message, not quite sure how to reply.
She did go through the code very briefly during their meeting in the alley, to scan through and see what’s allowed and what isn’t. It appears that, while lewd acts of all sorts are very doable, there’s a very strict line of code in the game that actively prevents bad things from occurring. No rape, no children around, nothing of that sort, so that’s good news, at least.
But then… Why are they programmed here in the first place? Did the game expect lewd actions of this caliber to occur? Is it just part of their programming? Did the game’s code adapt, or was this added via mod or otherwise? Actually, it can’t be a mod. The code is embedded into the game, as though it was always part of it, just… dormant and encrypted. Maybe the loss of Sayori’s bikini caused all these parameters to wake up and decrypt by themselves, like some sort of protocol.
She decides to scan through the code once more, this time choosing to check each of their “.chr” files, to see if any modifications were made to them as a result of the decryption… and to her surprise, there is indeed a change. “H-Huh…?” She says verbally, to no one.
Alongside various emotion and personality stats, two new ones have appeared. NUDSM and EXHIB. Nudism and Exhibitionism. The act of being casually nude, and the act of finding pleasure out of said nudity. All the girls have these two stats, and they’re at zero for all of them…
Except one.
Sayori.
Her NUDSM and EXHIB stat values are at 10 already, presumably out of a max of 255. This experience has led to these stats rising, but how is that possible? Does that mean she’s…?
Monika’s heart races a little. The implications of this are absurd.
“What…??” Sayori scans through pages upon pages of stories. People losing their clothes, people doing nude dares, people in situations much like hers, but their reactions are nothing like hers. They’re endlessly embarrassed, talking about the experiences like they’re bad memories they wish to be rid of, claiming they’ve been humiliated beyond belief and are fearful of similar situations happening again…
But why?
Sure, the situation was embarrassing for her as well, but it wasn’t as bad as she thought. She ended up enjoying it, in a way, though she’d never admit it. The racing of her heart was nearly addicting in how good it felt… but now she’s learning that’s not a standard reaction. She should be super embarrassed, drawn to tears by what just occurred, like all the other people in these stories, but… she’s not.
And, for some reason, that’s only making her want to try this again.
As Monika gazes at Sayori’s code, still in disbelief that these new stats exist… She notices their values change.
Specifically, Sayori’s EXHIB has increased to 15.
