Chapter 1: The Premise
Chapter Text
"You sure about this, dad?" An asked, looking from Ken, to the two rather large bottles of whiskey placed in her hands. With the legal drinking age still being another three years off, she felt nervous about this level of responsibility.
Ken grinned slightly, shrugging his shoulders. "I was drinking a hell of a lot more at your age! It's just a little something for you to enjoy when your friends come over!" An followed him as he was packing his bag, throwing in his phone, wallet, keys and a disposable water bottle. "Sorry I'm not there to supervise, but I trust you all!"
"I'm not so sure."
"Stop stressing!" Ken laughed, giving An an affectionate head pat. "You need to enjoy your youth a little more! Just enjoy yourself, and I take care of things in the morning."
"Okay," An mumbled, leaving the bottles on the kitchen counter as she followed Ken, who was making his way to the door. "Enjoy your friend's performance!"
"Thank you," Ken winked at An with a cheeky smile, displaying a thumbs up. "And since I won't be seeing you until tomorrow, happy birthday An!"
"Thank you, dad!"
She had another thirty minutes before her friends come over, so she took the time to grab a few cans of coke and a few snacks, including the pretzel sticks Kohane adores and a few chocolates that Akito will secretively eat to sate his sweet tooth. Touya would be fine with anything, which made getting snacks for him both easier and more difficult. She placed them in bowls and arranged them on the table, then fetching four glasses.
An stared at the bottles on the counter.
Well, they didn't have to drink it. Sure, An was curious, since most of the alcohol she had tried with Ken had been much weaker, but if no one else was interested then they could just sit down, drink some coke and generally have a good time! Maybe it's better if they wait until they're a bit older?
Before An could think about it any deeper, there was an all too polite knock at the door. It's crazy how she knew exactly who it is, based on a knock.
"Kohane!" she yelled, pouncing onto the small girl in a constricting hug filled to the brim with excitement that only comes around seeing her.
"H-Happy birthday, An!" she stammered, hyperaware of every inch of An that was pressed right up against her. She didn't mind holding up her entire weight in these comfortable, overly-energetic embraces.
"Hey, An!" another voice called from afar, and An pried herself off Kohane to see Touya and Akito, who had rounded the corner. "Happy birthday!"
"Happy birthday, Shiraishi," Touya smiled, giving a little wave on his approach.
An beamed to them all. "Thank you! Please, come in!"
The events that followed had lead them all the way up to the present. An's gift opening was done a few moments after they had entered the kitchen. Kohane had gifted her a few pretty gold hair clips, and a cute hamster plushie that had her jumping onto Kohane again. Touya had got her a hamster mug with a fancy finish - a mug she would absolutely be using regularly. Akito got her a CD of the band he had been pestering her to listen to, since they style adopts parts RAD weekend have. After An put her stuff up in her room, they started talking, as they usually did during hangouts, eating up the snacks and some of the coke from the table. Overall, it went as well as An had intended, and everyone seemed to be having a good time. But, as conversation started fading, An catches her eyes drifting to the unopened bottles idly sitting on the counter, tempting her. It seems no one else has seen them, and she was the only person extremely conscious of them. Maybe the others had seen them, but thought it wasn't for the party?
The conflict in her mind had her gnawing her lip slightly, looking from the whiskey to her friends, who were starting to notice An's strange behaviour.
"Are you okay, An?" Kohane asks, frowning in worry.
An smiles, getting up from her chair. "Nothing! Just need to get something!" The easiest way to know whether they should drink it is to get a general consensus. If more people would like to drink it, then she'll open one of the two bottles - that would probably be enough for one night. So she brings one whiskey over, resting it on the table. "So, my dad got me two of these for tonight."
Her voice dies off, not knowing how to address the matter. She looks at faces, at Kohane and Touya, who both seemed interested but slightly worried, and Akito, who seems less enthusiastic. In fact, An is pretty sure he is grimacing. For a bit, they all just... stare at the bottle.
"W-We don't have to have it!" she exclaims. "I mean we are underaged, and there's no rush!"
She waits a bit for anyone to respond, before slowly reaching for the neck to take it back.
"I mean..."
An freezes, looking at Touya.
"Obviously if you're okay with it, Shiraishi, I'd be happy to try a... a little?" He smiles shyly.
"I-I agree with Aoyagi," Kohane nods, looking from An to the bottle. "Just a bit. It could be a new experience! Besides, we're staying the night, so there aren't risks with getting caught by out parents!" Touya smiles at this - he doubts he'd even be allowed to drink at twenty around his parents anyway.
"I ain't touching it," Akito huffs, slouching in his chair.
An raises a sceptical brow, smirking smugly. "Too strong for you, Akito?"
Akito scowls, turning his head to the side. "Drinking is boring. People think it's cool but I don't get it."
"You sure you don't want to try a bit, Akito?" Touya asks, which seems to make Akito turn his head further.
"I've had whiskey before. Really didn't do much for me, so I don't see a point in drinking it."
Akito refused to meet anyone's gaze at that moment. He couldn't give anything away to show he was lying. The truth was that even the weakest alcohol was completely unbearable for him. He could handle energy drinks just fine, but when he tries fruity cider or beer or champagne or anything light, the taste of alcohol is just too unbearable for his tongue. On stronger stuff, he actually starts tearing up and crying. So, to save himself from the embarrassment, he pretends to be the heaviest heavyweight.
"Okay, well except from Akito," the ginger in question sticks his tongue at An, "Shall we start with the first shot?"
What Vivid Bad Squad didn't know was how this one decision would have monumental consequences.

"Let's go to somewhere with a bit more space," An suggests, and they all move to the living room connected to the kitchen, which isn't that much further away. Ever the waitress, An serves everyone, minus Akito, a generous shot, as a start.
Touya sniffs at the beverage. "It really doesn't smell nice." His nose wrinkles.
"Do your parents not drink Aoyagi?" Kohane asks.
"No, Azusawa. This is the first time I've ever had alcohol."
"Wait, shouldn't you dilute it a bit?" Akito gets up to crack open another can of coke, pouring a little in Touya's glass, who doesn't complain. Since Akito left his unused glass back in the cupboard, he chooses to drink straight from the can - he would argue it tastes better.
"Thank you, Akito," Touya smiles, earning an irritated "Tch" in response.
"A'ight," An declares, taking her seat on the floor, the alcohol situated in the middle of their five-by-five metre square. "Let's start!"
With a collective countdown, the three down their shot, all collectively choking on its journey down with squinting eyes.
"It burns!" An rasps out. Kohane is reaching out for a can to save her tastebuds, and gives a bit to An as well, since it seems that was the last can they had left. They sip the coke in moderation.
Akito looks oddly smug, for someone pretending he doesn't have a fragile tongue.
"I don't think that was too bad though," Touya quips, looking from An to Kohane. "It is unbearable in the moment, but after a bit, you feel fine."
"How are you guys feeling?" Akito chuckles, leaning back. He was looking forward to seeing his friends become drunk.
"Fine, actually," An frowns, looking at the empty glass. She is yet to experience becoming drunk, since her first experience with alcohol was just a pint of beer with Ken. "Huh, weird."
"Me too," Touya muses, his finger tracing from his Adam's apple to the centre of his ribs. "I do feel a warmth in my chest, but that's it." He readjusts his legs to a more comfortably seated position on the carpet.
They all turn to Kohane, who had been strangely silent. And flushed, upon first glance. "Y-Yeah, I-I'm feeling it!" She giggles nervously, which amuses everyone.
"Do you feel dizzy, Kohane?" Akito asks her, smirking a little at her trembling figure.
"N-No really just... j-just very warm and..."
Her eyes drift to An, who looked back with a fascinated expression. That just made Kohane flush darker, knowing she was, at that moment, the centre of her specific attention. "You're so cute, Kohane!" she squeals, attempting to grab her hand.
Kohane, in the midst of panic and fear of being anywhere near a girl so gorgeous and pretty, unbuttons her baseball jacket, placing it behind her. All to avoid any physical contact from An. She might actually die if An touches her.
Was she more hyperaware than usual? She would even shudder at the slightest rustle of An's breaths, heart skipping beats with her every movement. Even looking at An made her insides melt. She curls into a little lesbian ball, tucking her knees under her chin, folding her arms and pressing her cap further over her face to avoid any possibilities of catching even a glimpse of the girl who was so very near her.
"There you have it! Azusawa Kohane is a lightweight!" Akito laughs from his side of the room, sipping on his can. Kohane glares at him.
"I-I can still drink!" she shouts, quietly though, since she was still conscience of her volume. "I-I'm ready for another one!"
"Touya?" An asks him, already reaching out for the bottle to pour a shot for herself and Kohane.
"Sure," he nods, handing his glass over.
So they go another round, this time with a better expectation to what the shot would feel and taste like when going down. The reactions were less apparent, still pulled brows and grimaces. But there were less frantic grasps for something to wash the taste down.
"I'm still good!" An asks, and it looks like she is telling the truth. "I really don't feel any different."
"Maybe you just have a strong tolerance, Shiraishi?" Touya suggests, moistening his lips. "My mouth feels quite dry."
"That's usually what happens when you drink," Akito laughs, getting up. "Do you guys need me to get you some water?"
"That would be nice, Akito," Touya nods, though with slight lethargy, to stop the world from spinning too much.
"Yes please! Me as we-"
An is aggressively reeled back in her body, rooted to the ground as her left arm was taken hostage by a very flushed and very clingy Kohane. Her cap had started to fall back off her head, a few strands of hair fraying from her twin-tails, her cheek spreading like whipped cream against the dip of her elbow. Kohane was mumbling to herself with half-lidded eyes, something completely illegible and too quiet for An to hear over the loud beats of her heart, like a bass drum in her ears.
"Kohane!" She rasps, much quieter than her usually extroverted voice. "D-Do you need water?"
"Nnnnn~" Kohane doesn't respond, her knees pushing flush against the side of An's thigh.
"F-For Kohane as well!" she yells after Akito.
"She definitely doesn't have a high tolerance," Touya smiles, placing his glass down and getting up. "I'll help Akito out at the kitchen."
That leaves An, who is very very alone, with a drunk and affectionate Kohane.
An tries to clear her mind, willing the blood from rushing to her cheeks, and manages to take her mind elsewhere, like how there was a plug socket switch that was currently on, or the cable to the television that had slipped itself out from where it was hidden. When she had at last considered herself comfortable, Kohane moves to attempt to get as much of her in physical contact with An as possible, slinging a leg over and moving her cheek further towards her shoulder.
An could feel her breathing against her very red neck.
"K-Kohane?" she hesitantly asks, the entire left side of her body completely rigid and stationary. She feared even twitching, both very excited of being in this situation, and very terrified of scaring Kohane off.
At the call of her name, Kohane looks up, with a sleepiness and an adorable wrinkle to her nose from squinting that had An short-circuiting. Never mind short-circuit - her board was fried.
There were the whole night's stars in light brown eyes.
"An~!" Kohane drawls the 'n' out, a smile that could give An diabetes. "You're so pra... pretty!"
An opens her mouth, then closes it like a fish, her mind completely numb.
"Wanna... Wanna braid your hair!" She continues to grin dopily. "Wanna..." Her words are lost to mumbles, and An remains completely powerless to Kohane grasping clumsily but assertively for hands. She doesn't even braid them - her hands aren't built for that level of hand-eye-coordination right now - but simply combs her fingers through a small section that slipped from behind An's ear.
"A-Ah..." came An's pathetic response. She was so very warm, and so very dead.
"Warm," Kohane's mumbles are audible again. "Smells nice."
An tries her very best to not scream or completely lose her singular remaining braincell when Kohane sniffs at her jacket not once but twice. Her heartrate couldn't have been any faster than at that moment. The worst part is she knew it is nothing related to the alcohol.
"I like An~" she gushes again, and nothing could have prepared An for the kiss she presses, just over the exposed upper part of her collar bone. Very chaste, like the gentle caress of the wind, but oh so very wet, compared to the squeezing and snuggling Kohane is still doing. The moisture burned, a constant reminder, to An, that she had been kissed by Kohane.
She had been...
Kissed...
By...
As the final juices in her brain are consumed, from her desperate attempts to grasp the reality of the situation, Akito and Touya walk in. They stop, staring at the slump of Kohane, and the strawberry-faced An, who grins at them desperately, her voice a little too enthusiastic.
"H-How about we go for another round or two!"
Notes:
The illness is mostly gone (TLDR really ill for the past few days, so this chapter was unfinished on 1k for 2 days), so I present the next instalment. I cannot wait for the next chapter - the headcanons are really where things hit off and get interesting!
Also Touya does have an average tolerance, which is why he isn't as wasted as Kohane, who is canonically as light as me, if not lighter.
This. Will. Get. Really. Gay.

Chapter 3: I want to lower my specs on reality and stop thinking about the person currently cuddling me
Summary:
Kohane decides to have another shot, and An is resorting to alcoholism to stop crashing whenever she thinks about Kohane. Touya is probably on a few too many drinks, and Akito is beginning to wish he kept his stupid mouth shut and drank with everyone else.
Spud is having a bit too much fun.

Chapter Text
"Please," Kohane whines, her hands gripping affectionately on the baggy fabric of An's jacket sleeve, pleadingly staring at Touya. "Can I have another?"
"Considering how drunk you are right now, Azusawa, I think you should slow down a bit. At least have some water."
"M'not thirsty," she pouts, curling more into An.
"I dunno Touya," Akito shrugs, assessing Kohane again. "She is pretty drunk but she has also only had two shots. Having another one or two won't hurt her!"
"Still, surely it would be worth us sl... slowing down?" Touya did just finish another shot, and his unusually heavy tongue has started tripping up on certain syllables.
"If there's anyone that needs to slow down, it's the one who has finished half the bottle."
Akito gestures to An, who is currently pouring herself a fifth shot, doing her best not to move her arm. Gone was her face of pleasantries for a hostess having a party at her house, replaced with a mixture of determination and urgency. The ease of the shot going down was equally concerning, her water left completely untouched.
"Is she hoping to get wasted?" Akito rolls his eyes. "I don't think she knows we're here."
"Shiraishi!"
An slaps her cup down on the ground, albeit not moving Kohane by a hair, looking over to Touya.
"I think you should slow down."
She displays to Touya one of those working professional white smiles, her voice surprisingly sober, with no slurring or implications that she has already had a few shots. "But I'm still not drunk yet, Touya! I'll stop when I actually start to feel something!"
"Still," Touya frowns, biting his lip a little. "I think you should at least wait a little for the alcohol to circulate before going for another."
An nods in understanding.
She pours herself another.
"Could I have a shot?"
"Sure, Touya!"
It was the only way Touya could think of to keep the alcohol, at least temporarily, away from An, since Akito seems only humoured by An's attempts of destroying her liver.
"Me too~... Aoooyagi!" Kohane grins, leaning forwards a little. Touya looks at Akito, concern tightening his expression. Akito simply nods, in a way that made Touya want to trust his judgement and earnestly. He seemed fairly confident.
Three shots aren't enough to kill a person. Three shots aren't enough to kill a person.
"Okay, Azusawa."
Somehow, despite being flushed from the alcohol, Kohane seemed to down her shot fine, not lingering too much on the taste and very quickly settling back on to An, who was trying to reach for the alcohol. Touya pours himself another shot, just to stall for a little bit longer. The bottle was down to nearly a quarter of its original size, which is a little concerning, especially when An seems to be completely sober. That said, she grasps the bottle as soon as Touya finishes with his shot, and pours herself so much that it spills when she practically launches it into her mouth.
"You know, I sometimes wonder if those two can be any more oblivious," Akito laughs, leaning closer to Touya, knowing Kohane, now digesting that third shot, was trying to permanently fuse herself onto An, and An, now having her seventh- no now eighth shot, probably had the one focus of becoming completely hammered. "Like look at them right now! You'd think that they'd be dating at this point, with how much An is all 'Oh I love you Kohane!' and how red Kohane goes whenever An praises her or hugs her! But no! We're just here watching them hopelessly-"
"Akito."
That was the kind of voice Touya uses when Akito runs his mouth a little too much, or when he has revealed something he shouldn't have. And Akito respects his partner more than anything else, so he is quick to cut himself off and wait for his partner to say what he needs to say.
Which is absolutely nothing, in this case. A whole ten second pause.
"Touya? Are you oka-"
"That's better," Touya smiles, maybe a little more ecstatic than usual, his hand lacing tighter with Akito's beside him.
Akito doesn't respond.
"An~" Kohane coos to the very pretty girl next to her, with a face that makes An's insides all mushy. "Can I kiss you?"
"Wha-" An almost screams in response, knocking over her empty shot glass, which had once contained her tenth shot. "I-I mean, I..." She couldn't think of a response to the question. Their relationship was something that didn't quite have a label on it. An knew it was more than any other friendship she has with her classmates, but she put that down to them being partners. Why Kohane was insistent on kissing her made no sense to An - it came out of nowhere. And An has never, until this point, properly considered receiving or giving kisses to Kohane.
Kisses?!
She flushes red, gulping slowly as her gaze flits to Kohane's rouged lips, moistened from alcohol and her saliva.
Kohane's... saliva...
An hates thinking. She hates her brain picking up on every single wrinkle, strand of hair, eyelash, faint freckle and speckle, in Kohane's eyes, and she hates admiring each one as well. An was always the cooler one until this point. Why now is she loosing her composure over Kohane cuddling her and...
She reaches for the bottle again.
Maybe, when she starts feeling the effects of the alcohol, she can stop being a blushing mess, and start cuddling this adorable version of Kohane back!
Her dire attempt to grab the alcohol was halted when those same troublesome lips press just under her jawline. It was a miss from Kohane, who doesn't even kiss her - just pushing her lips - but the contact is enough for An to break a sweat from her brain and the rest of her body being on fire.
Two freaking kisses.
Why does this matter so damn much! She has kissed Kohane before already! That one time Kohane was feeling unwell, and she couldn't resist giving her a forehead kiss because she was so red and so sleepy. That one time time Kohane got her the necklace she really wanted and she was so happy the greatest show of appreciation she could think of was kissing her on the cheek. Also that one time she kissed her hand in the middle of a performance at a live house, when they were just in the moment for their song. So why the hell do the kisses burn through her flesh?! Why is she so conscious of Kohane's... just Kohane!
"Nnn~" Kohane groans, and the hand that had been playing with An's hair places itself across her chest and on the side of her neck, which is very warm in contrast. "Why aren't you... looking at me."
Because, if An did, she'd look even more like an idiot.
As much as her right hand could permit without shaking Kohane off, she pours herself another glass, drinking it quickly.
"M'lonely," she basically whispers into An's ear, her nose nuzzling against its shell before her neck gives way, dropping her chin on An's shoulder.
Another kiss, dangerously close to her voicebox.
This is a life or death situation, a serious test of her willpower. The issue isn't that she doesn't want to interact with Kohane - she just seriously doesn't know how to! And An didn't have a lot of pride, nor care about having it all that much, but this is one of the blue moon occasions where she didn't want to just become a brainless pile of goo that disintegrates when Kohane so much as breathes on her.
"Can I have the bottle?" Touya asks, flexing his fingers around with his free hand.
"Yes sure! J-Just one sec!"
She swallows her heart down, along with the twelfth shot.
Touya's hand is a little shaky as he pours the alcohol, the other firmly gripping Akito's hand still. He couldn't explain what came over him - probably because it's the alcohol speaking - but he really wanted to hold Akito's hand. Akito's hand looked so tempting and completely unoccupied, and Touya's hand was itching to be laced with it. Their interlocked fingers hit the right spot and it just felt so right.
"You know," Touya shuffles backwards with the shot glass in hand. "I like it when you talk to me. It makes it feel like I'm really close to you."
He gulps down half of the shot.
"You know when you really want to be close to someone. I always feel that around you, so you talking to me just makes talking to you so much easier. Less pressure, I suppose."
He finishes the glass.
"You know, despite how things with my family have resolved, I don't regret at all following you into street music. It's so fun being with you and the others. And you have been nothing but supportive with me. You understand me so well, Akito."
Touya pauses to get a refill, resuming his position.
"It's weird, because you're nothing like the people I usually talk to. In ways, you're the opposite. You're aggressive and brash, you're judgemental and extremely competitive. But somehow, you have that amiable confidence to steal the spotlight and become a star, every single time. And you are so insistent on becoming the best, on only being with the best. The way you grilled Azusawa, yes you were being really harsh, but you had a purpose and a specific approach to it."
Another shot.
"Fortunately, Azusawa noticed, and was able to make use of your words and improve. But that certainly isn't the only time this has worked. With Shiraishi after STAY GOLDEN, when your scowling brought her closer to Azusawa, after their small fallout. And with me many times. I honestly couldn't stand you for a period, but the more we talked, the more I realised, the more I improved, the more I deviated further from classical music and into something I enjoyed and felt like living for. I live for that thrill of singing beside you and the others, the blinding lights and the booming speakers, and the screams of the audience that give me that push. I even live for anything behind the stage, hanging out with you, talking, looking for new CDs, calling, practicing."
Touya blushes, tilting his head a little to rest on Akito's shoulder.
"I also like it when you praise me after performances. It makes me feel validated, and happy. I also really like your head ruffles."
He beams, though Akito probably couldn't see it.
"Ahah... Touya!"
Touya's gaze leaves the random spot on the wooden flooring he had been staring at, his gaze meeting An's, who was barely holding a smile together. Not like Touya could fully comprehend it.
"You going to... finish that?" An asks, gesturing to the almost-empty bottle, her sentence breaking off in the middle to unwillingly acknowledge the umpteenth kiss from Kohane, who was quite literally sitting on her lap.
It was very cosy, An can't lie, and was everything she could dream of, being hugged by Kohane. But, as of right now, she would explode if she thought too much about how Kohane's face was snuggling into her boobs, Kohane's thighs were pressing into her sides, Kohane's-
"Please!" She doesn't even try to keep the strain of desperation from her voice, the one hand that wasn't detained by Kohane reaching out.
Touya understands An's inability to move, getting up with wobbly feet to hand the bottle over. As a result, he lets go of Akito's hand, who seems to come back to life, breathing out for a very, very long time.
He knew Touya was just word vomiting. Touya, as a drunk, apparently just talks, which makes sense since he doesn't usually talk very much in conversation, unless there is something he really wants to say. Akito also knows, first hand, that Touya gets stuck in his own thoughts a lot, so to actually hear what goes on in his head was... really flattering! Akito was surprised with how much his partner truly appreciates him, and actually has the words to express it. All Akito has ever done ranges from head ruffles to fist bumps. They really don't do too well with physical contact, and words are only better by a hair.
That hand hold.
Akito closed off his thoughts before he discovered something he probably didn't want to.
He instead diverts his attention to An, who brings the bottle straight up against her lips and, in four gulps, the bottle is empty. Touya is entranced by her perfected technique from the many shots she had before, and Kohane is entranced by the way her neck bobs up and down with every swallow. The hand on her neck slides back around, her fingertips delicately tracing An's throat.
"Kohane!"
She presses another kiss there.
"S-STOP!" Her voice almost goes up an octave, the rest of her body trembling.
"Does the alcohol taste better directly from the bottle?" Touya asks An, who's very not paying attention to him right now. Curiosity was getting the better of Touya, he knew that, but he still reaches for the new bottle, unscrewing the cap. "Might as well see myself," he mumbles.
Akito catches on a few slow seconds too late, and before he could open his mouth to casually advise against it, it was already too late.
"Touya!" he yells, quickly getting up and stopping him as he finishes just under a third of the new bottle. "What the hell are you doing!" He grabs the bottle away from his grasp, which is equally as quickly snagged by An, and drags Touya back to where they were sitting before, handing him a glass of water. "Drink that!" he hisses, threading an anxious hand through his hair. He had already had two consecutive shots, and had consumed about ten shots worth or so in however many gulps he had from the bottle! He just had to pray that Touya doesn't knock himself out when the alcohol kicks in, otherwise they'd be in deep trouble.
"M'sorry, Akito. Can't finish it," Touya squints in disappointment with his failure at obeying Akito's instructions. His back seems to give out, tired of holding him up, and he slouches against Akito's very warm shoulder. Touya smiles absently. "Will do it later."
Akito tries not to think about Touya's hair tickling under his jaw, Touya's hands fidgeting to grasp his own, Touya's hot breath against his chest, Touya's very, very, very close proximity to him. He casts a glance over at An, who was still sipping straight from the bottle, and Kohane, who is sipping from a shot glass she had somehow gotten her hands on, grinning lazily. A part of him kind of wishes he was drunk too, so he didn't have to absorb all of this in.
His heartrate skyrockets when Touya brings Akito's other hand around to stroke his hair.
"Like it when... head ruffle."
Akito hates thinking, and hates being told what to do.
He does it anyway.

Chapter 4: we won't surpass RAD WEEKEND unless we surpass our drinking limits
Summary:
We have successfully lost count of the amount of drinks Touya and An have had, mainly because they have just chugged straight from the bottle. At least we know Kohane is on four shots, and Akito, who is so done with this, is on none. Please enjoy the final instalment of drunk shenanigans (because the next chapter is just what happens next).

Chapter Text
Akito huffs a sigh of relieve once he knows Touya is out of earshot, who was stumbling around to find the toilet. He was sober enough to do so on his own, and Akito's vocabulary was too small to piece together a sentence that could offer Touya his help. Instead, he relishes the few seconds of freedom he could get. Not that he didn't like his partner - Touya is just a... very clingy drunk.
He looks over at An, who was looking directly at him, biting her lip in a way he has learnt means she is holding back tears. Akito already knew why and, just to rial her up a little, he smirks mockingly. An, being completely oblivious to her feelings for Kohane, is now overwhelmed by it all crashing down, and is too stupid to realise she is head over heals for Kohane!
"You doing alright there, An~" he teases, stretching out the 'n' like he saw Kohane do moments before she fell asleep, snuggled comfortably around An. She was drooling a little.
An is furious, but had to contain it. She felt like she was at the peak of a very steep mountain, and any sudden wind or change to the environment would have her rolling down either way. She chooses to glare at Akito, throwing Kohane's empty shot glass at him, but the attempt failing, clattering to the empty ground between them. This might have caused Kohane to shift a bit, and An is frozen harder than ice, desperately not wanting her to stir back into consciousness. Any more exposure to Kohane being extremely forward with her will kill her, and she wanted to at least be able to not have her lungs stolen from her every thirty seconds.
She huffs a gentle sigh of relief when Kohane relaxes, like a grenade that stops hissing, speaking through clenched teeth. "Don't talk like you haven't been eyeing Touya up all night!"
Akito drops his cocky smile. "He's doing that all by himself! I'm just worried, is all! H-He drank a lot because of you!" He curses his stutter.
"Well I didn't ask f-for Kohane to be on my lap either!"
"But your not making a move to get her off either!"
"Y-Yeah-"
Checkmate. Akito grins. "You're enjoying yourself, aren't you!"
An opens her mouth in protest, but nothing came out. She was absolutely not enjoying herself. She probably would if she could actually think! But not even this lame bickering with Akito is fully waking her up from her meltdown.
"Nothing to say for yourself?" That persistent knowing smirk is back, and Akito leans back, clearly victorious. "I at least thought you'd fight a bit more. You're pretending to be a damsel in distress all this time, trying to drink to escape, when really you just want to be drunk to enjoy it all!"
An bites her lip, tears welling in her eyes. "I am not!" Alcoholism was the escape to try and enjoy it! She is so incredibly conscious of her thoughts right now, an indecipherable mess about Kohane, and she doesn't want to be! "I don't want to be here!"
"Then wake Kohane up!" He takes a delicious sip of water.
"I... I don't want to." An frowns, her gaze averting down. She didn't want to wake Kohane... no, she didn't want to upset Kohane... no, she didn't...
She didn't want Kohane off her lap.
She likes it.
An likes Kohane being so close and so clingy.
It's cute.
The colour returns to her face.
"I still don't think you've figured it out." Akito bites the lip of the glass, smirk gone. It is fun to piss An off, but now she has hit that same dumb, persistent wall. A truth in bold and vibrant technicolour, staring her right in the eye, that she is too much of a dumbass to read and comprehend. How could she be experiencing such emotions and still not be able to understand that it is significantly more than platonic. Only so much could be swept under the rug as 'admiration'. And at least half of the two has their mess sorted out. An is just an idiot.
"Stop talking like a know-it-all!" An tries to say more, but Kohane's arm slides off her shoulder, and she tenses up again, biting her tongue.
"It's because I've been watching you for ages around Kohane, dumbass! You-"
Just as he was about to knock some sense into An, there was the very loud sound of a body colliding with the floor, a similar fall he has experienced time and time again from fatigue from overworking himself in dance practice. Except it was Touya, who had just reached the doorstep, collapsing to his knees with a dazed look in his eyes.
Akito is on his feet before his thoughts could catch up with him, dashing to his partner's aid. "Touya!" he shouts, maybe a little too loudly. He also drops to his knees, picking Touya's head up to check his state, from his alcohol-flushed cheeks to his half-lidded eyes, silver eyes flickering from wherever they were aimed at before to Akito. Now convinced he is okay, Akito pulls one of Touya's arms over his shoulder, carefully moving the both of them back to An and Kohane. They manage for most of the journey, until they were about two metres from where Akito was previously situated, when Touya's legs give out, his back attacking the side of the couch. Akito partially falls with him, though manages to get a knee up in his descent, holding onto as much of Touya's weight as he could. The impact causes a tendent in his leg to strain.
He decides it isn't worth moving any further.
With Touya propped against the side of the couch, Akito leans against the wall, his legs comfortably crossed. "Nearly gave me a heart attack there," he mutters. "You can't be injuring yourself like that. It will affect your dancing during practice."
"M'sowy, Ak'to." Touya's words are barely legible, very slurred.
"Tch." Akito smiles a little, more to himself. "I suppose it's-"
His words are cut short when he feels Touya crawl into his lap, legs swung off to the side, spine curled enough to rest his head on Akito's shoulder.
Oh, this isn't good.
Very warm, he looks up at An, who is gifting him back one of the many smirks he had given her earlier. Akito flips her off.
"D'you ev'r wish..." Touya's head starts slipping off, but it soon returns. "... pianos keys can~ come 'n colours other than black 'n' white?"
Akito frowns at how random the question is. "What are y-" he couldn't finish, suddenly very aware of the hand that was once again tightly laced with his own. In fact, Akito was very silent. His thoughts were a pathetic frenzy, his attention is flitting from Touya's hair against his neck to his hand to the way Touya's back presses against his arm to Touya's soft breaths, and he cannot pull himself out enough to return to their conversation.
If the alcohol were in reach, he would have absolutely taken a shot, regardless of how much he would humiliate himself. Yet even that would nowhere near outtrump the way his face burns and limbs tremble with overwhelming anxiety. For what? For the situation where his partner is intoxicated and unknowingly clinging to him?
Yes apparently.
Akito needed a quick fix, and fast. Before his racing heart trips over itself and stops working altogether.
An is doing her best to hold it together. Much like herself, though she doesn't quite know it yet, she enjoys seeing Akito being a complete mess around Touya. He's normally so cool and composed and finally, it seems she has the upper hand. So, much like Akito had done to her, she was now drinking in this very humorous scene, despite it being partially obscured by the couch. Karma was probably going to bite back, and it did.
"Ow!"
There was a sharp pain just beside her trachea, and it takes An a little too long to realise that Kohane's mouth was clamped to her neck, teeth digging into her flesh.
"A-AGH!" she almost screams, though not knowing what else to do, her hands coming up several times in weak attempts to stop Kohane from biting her, but not knowing at all how to go about this peculiar situation whatsoever. She didn't even want to acknowledge the thoughts on the matter, like how little it actually hurt; concerns on it leaving a mark and her having to actually zip up her jacket to hid it from the others and from getting asked questions; KOHANE IS BITING MY NECK; how moving her head made Kohane grind her teeth together a little which made the bite sting a little; despite the pain it kind of felt nice.
Not that An could at all hear her mess of thoughts to actually catch on to any of her thoughts.
Nothing could explain what was going on in Kohane's brain - mainly because there was nothing going on in there. Kohane had no thoughts when she bit An. Maybe just the urge to bite something, and An's neck just happened to be the most convenient place.
How is An ever going to explain this to anyone.
She casts a terrified glance at Akito, who fortunately seemed to be facing his own emotional constipation problems with Touya. She couldn't even breathe a sigh of relief without Kohane somehow biting down harder, and the more Kohane bites, the more aware An is of the current situation, which she wishes wasn't the case, had the effects of the alcohol she'd ingested actually made a difference in her function right now. At present, she felt utterly useless.
"Kohane?" An practically whimpers. Kohane is happily latched on, but hums to show An she was listening. "C-Could you stop biting me?" Kohane shows no signs of moving. "Please?"
The next sequence of events could be nightmare fuel for An.
An manages to put her hands around Kohane's head, at first tapping it a few times, but then relying on the hope that forcefully pulling her head back would eventually encourage her to let go. She could feel her skin being tugged with Kohane's persistence, along with a sudden tingle of sensual pleasure straight to her heart that made it twitch in her chest, and with it a fresh wave of hot blood rushing to her cheeks and most of her face. Somehow, her momentary hesitance works, since Kohane's mouth frees the agitated skin with An's first ever bite mark stamped into it. But before An could so much as blink, Kohane was consuming her thumb.
Due to the sensitivity of the human hand, the pad of An's thumb was forced to experience and become extremely familiar with the inside of Kohane's mouth. She could feel the squishy velvet of a tongue rubbing against her thumb, the ridges of the roof of the mouth, the hard and smooth enamel of teeth, the very hot coating of saliva that seemed to flood in, the slightly chapped bottom lip that pressed against her from the outside.
An actually crashes from the overload of information. She might have stopped processing about five seconds after her thumb had been swallowed, so also didn't notice Kohane nuzzling up to the rest of her hand, her cheek flat against the palm.
This was certainly a unique set of circumstances thrown onto her. Her partner - unbeknownst, also her crush - was currently cuddling An on An's lap, with An's thumb in her mouth, after having kissed, bitten her neck and slept on her. The closest kiss to her lips has been the sixth one, just short of the corner. An was partially curious as to how much worse this can get, but also desperate for her shame and pathetic-ness to end. There was only a third of the bottle left, which could either be her salvation, or a complete waste to her liver.
Kohane is actually the one who separates her mouth, since An was too incompetent to do so before. The string of saliva connecting them together probably burned her last braincell.
"Look a' me~ An~!" Kohane whines, her face returning to An's breasts, looking expectantly up at An, hoping for a response. An denies her, and will continue denying her until-
Tears start falling from her eyes like stars.
An reaches for the bottle.
"I like b'ue."
Akito has been slowly getting used to Touya's colour fixation when he's wasted.
"Blue is nice, I guess."
He basically turns into a five-year-old. A very clingy five-year-old, who can't stop holding hands and cuddling and basically messing around with Akito. But his vocabulary and words are that of a five-year-old.
"There's lotta b'ue, Not 'ere... like... sky 'n' sea~"
Touya shifts, now intimately embracing Akito's arm.
"Th-There's some blue here though."
This is Akito's master plan. Since his thoughts are so clouded with every inch of himself that is in close contact with Touya, which is why he despises their physical contact unless it is in the moment, and would be too close to being a love-sick idiot, like An, for comfort, he tries commenting on Touya's word vomit as a distraction, or a way to stop him from descending into madness.
"Oh," Touya exclaims, the bubble of breath striking Akito over his ear, causing him to shiver. He stays stone still as Touya shuffles to turn around and face away from Akito's chest, searching the kitchen. "Like... Like the flowers!" In a more rude manor that Akito is not used to, Touya points accusingly at the vase of irises sitting on the dining table for about two seconds before his arm gives out, dropping back down to the hard floor. He manages to suppress his laughter into a splutter. "Oh... An's he... hair!" His arms lifts a few inches in attempts to point at tomato-faced An, but it slouches back down.
Akito shakes his head. "An's hair isn't actually blue."
Touya frowns, sagging further against Akito, pressing the accelerator on his heartrate. "Real...ly?"
"Y-Yes." Akito curses at his own stutter. "The ends are dyed." He was surprised of his own kindness. Usually his responses had a bit of an edge to them, to make him seem tough, but this time he didn't want to hurt Touya, not with his vulnerable drunk state. And to his dismay, he had to hatefully admit that Touya was being... incredibly cute.
"Ah..." Touya's head droops, and Akito was quick to lift it with a hand slipped under his bangs and over his forehead, confirming that he'd passed out mid-sentence. He returns into conscience though when his head suddenly snaps back with a soft bump against Akito's chest, blinking a few times to adjust to the light. "Like... Like Akito... Akito's..."
"Yes, like my bangs."
"Yellow~"
"Yes, yellow."
He feels a significant amount of pressure on his hand, which could only mean Touya has passed out again. He expects for this to be a reoccurring pattern.
His thoughts return back to blue, and how Touya had missed out the most obvious item in the room - his own hair. It was a feature that had at first drawn Akito in, one he found beautifully complimented his eyes. If that wasn't already enough, then the mole beneath his left eye just pushes his beauty to another tier. It wasn't like Akito's eyes could help following Touya around during practice, his face scrunched in determination, nor could help staring at that mole whenever he was in conversation with Touya. This is one of the few moments where he could sit down and let his thoughts run free, just short of admitting out loud that he found Touya incredibly attractive. And his silky vibrant bi-coloured hair happened to be the forefront of his mind, probably the most blue thing he could think of, if slapped with such a question.
This time, Akito leans into Touya, his cheek pressing into the soft locks, and takes a slow breath through his nose.
It is cut very short by Touya tilting his head up, towards Akito, a gooey and sickly sweet smile spread across his lips. 'Like a cat', Akito accidentally thinks, before being completely slapped back into reality.
What the hell is he doing?!
He is completely upright, teeth gritted to try and remove the bright red colour in his face, from the humiliation of being caught up in the peace of the moment. How could he try and be so grossly vulnerable in front of An and Kohane! And especially Touya!
Anxiety was also tightening his throat. How much does Touya know?! Was he actually aware of how Akito felt about him, despite Akito not being in full agreement with himself?! Will his partner ever be able to stay by his side again!
The fear dissipates when he risks a glance at Touya, who looks back at him with a silly grin and dream-like eyes, chest to chest with, this time, both of their hands laced together. It felt too sappy for Akito, but he didn't want to take that happiness away from Touya, so he manages to turn a blind eye to it.
"Or'nge 'n' b'ue... like opposites." If it were even possible, Touya smiles wider, his eyes squinting cutely. His mole seems to reveal itself a bit more. "I really like Aki..."
Akito's anxiety returns, this time with concern that he might be having a heart attack. Touya had no right to be dropping bombs on him, not when Touya seems completely fine by saying those words, whilst Akito's entire world has been flipped on a fourth dimensional axis. To end him for good, Touya even goes through the effort of getting slightly off Akito's lap to press their foreheads together, rubbing them back and forth a bit before settling back to the crook of Akito's neck.
He avoids listening to his thoughts from that point on. He was done being an open book for one night, and doesn't have alcoholism as an excuse, on his part.
It wasn't like Akito had much of a choice anyway. Not when a few seconds after Touya had settled, a guttural cry was heard from behind the couch.
Undoubtably, it was An, who had finally finished the remains of alcohol, thus the situation luckily couldn't physically get worse. Going back a few moments ago, to when she had actually emptied the bottle, Kohane had continued trying to get her attention, with cute remarks, adorable pouts and and shaking her limbs with the little coordination she has left with her body. Apparently, being ignored by her partner for so long had gotten Kohane overwhelmed, and her sniffles had nosedived into actual crying.
"An~" she weeped through hiccups, fiddling with An's long, trembling fingers. "Wh-Why can't-" she sniffles. "Why can't you l-l-look at me!"
An was doing her very best. Her bottom lip was being gnawed off, her eyes were doing a great job at containing her well of tears, and she was using ever ounce of her remaining willpower to avoid looking at Kohane. The effects of the alcohol had finally kicked in for her, which did seem to make her thoughts significantly louder, but her body was feeling numb. In fact, she could no longer feel Kohane resting against her, nor the drool from her mouth from the previous times she had passed out, nor the tears that were wiped against her clothes.
To her dismay, drinking did not effect her hearing.
"L-Look at me!" Kohane cried out again, gripping tightly onto An's t-shirt, hard enough to audibly pop a few threads. "I wanna... wanna k-kiss!"
It was a strong tug on her resolve, and An could feel herself slipping; her eyes gliding towards the object of her admiration, even when she was probably at her lowest. She stole a glance, knowing deep down that she would regret it, but also being extremely emotionally exhausted holding back from looking at her partner. This was a losing battle from the start.
She takes it all in, in one glance. Her chin was nestled comfortably in the crevice between her breasts, her plump and flushed cheeks were slick with tears, her nose was scrunched adorably, her hair was dishevelled, most of it having escaped her twin tails. And her eyes. If all the admiration in the world could be put into a single passionate and heartfelt gaze, it was practically spelt out in that warm bronze hue, glimmering with a beauty An has always known, but has never truly seen until that moment. She was quite literally staring into the sun.
Something scratched the hollow insides of her brain.
And her stomach plummets through the floor, along with the waterfall of tears and the drunken screams of distress.
Akito's hand's depart from the warmth between him and Touya, at first reaching for his ears, before changing course for Touya's. Call him a lovesick idiot for caring about Touya so much, but now that he's started he can't seem to ignore it by force anymore, so yes this was all his stupid fault.
An couldn't even see Kohane through her very blurred vision. "WHY CAN'T I JUST BEHAVE NORMALLY AROUND YOU!" she wails so hard that her voice strains, but was loud enough to risk puncturing Akito's eardrums. He should have hid the damn alcohol when he had the chance. Now he's actually dealing with children. "WHY DO YOU HAVE TO BE SO PRETTY KOHANE!"
"Look at me~!" Kohane moans again, climbing An like a tree until they were both face to face, which only made An cry more. "An~!"
"Kohane~!" An drawls, clutching Kohane's shoulders and shaking her. "STOP BEING SO CUTE!"
And she's bawling like a baby again. Out of all the people here, An was absolutely the most childish.
"Aki~" Touya giggles, pressing closer to the hands cupped around his ears. Whilst Akito is so incredibly comfortable and happy with where he is, far enough away from the noise - and close to Touya - he had to do something about An and Kohane. They both seemed to make each other worse, and if this kept up they might get a noise complaint.
He shoulders the responsibility at last, knowing he's the only responsible one there. He invited Touya onto his back, who happily embraces him, arms draping over his shoulders and his mouth dangerously close to his ear. Akito is now very aware of every breath Touya takes, but tries to focus on his role and not shiver every time he feels an exhale.
"Oi, An," he shouts over the two mourners, tapping An a few times before tugging onto her arm. "Let's move to your room."
"AKITO~"
Akito is overwhelmed with exhaustion already. He is fed-up.
An lunges at him, though instantly falling to her side. Kohane, with a bit more grace, manages to stay upright with a not-so-stable arm holding her weight up. There is a little pool of tears forming beneath An's face right now.
"HELP ME!"
He sighs, quickly stooping over to untangle An from the mess of limbs, yanking her arm over his shoulder. Kohane's was done in a similar manner, albeit significantly gentler. An deserved the rough treatment for being such a nuisance. It was surprising, even to himself, that he was able to carry three people! But the quicker he does this, the better, for both his fatigued body and crippling patience.
"Your so strong Aki~" Touya coos in his ear, the tiredness showing in his voice. There is a little nudge of their heads brushing against each other as he takes the first few steps up the stairs. Akito forces himself to ignore the comment, Touya's touch leaving funny tingles in its shadow.
"W-We have a lot to talk about tomorrow," he mumbles. The many unsaid words he had for Touya were lodged firmly in his throat. He didn't know if he had the confidence to expose them to Touya yet, which made him slightly gutted knowing he would probably be the only person with any recollection of tonight. But, at the very least, "We definitely need to talk about our drinking habits."
Notes:
Ok so maybe I need to do a part 5. My bad, I can't count. This chapter was supposed to be a lot shorter but I think I got carried away with shoving as manyof my headcanons, including some cute fluff, in here. Hope you forgive Spud :3
