Chapter 1: 1 life, only with you
Chapter Text
“What did you pack?” Arias asked in a whisper. They were leaving, meeting with Arias in Osora’s room for the next few minutes. Last time they’d be in this god forsaken castle.
“Another change of clothes, some PJs, enough money to survive off of for a while and that shoulnt go missing, some food, and some stuff from Celia.” Osora said, as they tied their cloak. “You?”
“Cloak, sword, bandaids, extra clothes, and water.” Arias said, as he grabbed his cloak out of his bag. How Arias was able to sneak his sword through even during guard shift was incredible but Osora wasn't about to ask.
“I left Celia a note during guard change that she shouldn't find until tomorrow at the earliest saying that I was sorry but she should be queen as she would be better than me and how my whole birth situation played out so she'd be fine.” Arias explained, throwing his bag over his shoulders. After Arias finished tying his cloak and putting on his own bag, he kissed Osora's forehead, and whispered,
“You ready?” They nodded, ready to leave this shitty life behind for one while they didn't know what lie in store. Osora knew it would be better than the one he had here as he could love Arias peacefully and wasn't prince anymore.
~
They quickly and quietly slipped out of the castle, making their way north through the forest. Osora kept turning around every few moments, even at the slightest sound or none at all.
What if someone found out our plan? What if I never get away? What if someone finds out about Arias and I after we’re found? He’d die.
“Arias. I have to go back. Go without me.” Osora said, stopping after about an hour and a half of them taking off.
“Why?” Arias asked, stopping for a moment so Osora and him could sit on a log and taking out the canteen from his backpack.
“Are you being serious? What if someone finds out and takes us back to Calaveras?” Osora whispered, not understanding why he was able to now voice the concerns he would usually bury.
“‘Sora. We’ll be okay. No one’s following us. No one knows.” Arias assured, giving Osora a side hug. “But we have to keep walking. Drink some water and then we’ll continue.” Arias said, passing the canteen to the blonde. Osora took some sips before handing it back and he wiped his lips with the back of his hand.
The pair stood up and continued walking.
“I think we should walk for another few hours, maybe 2 or 3. We're about 7 or so miles I’d guess from the castle. I’d like to be about 20, honestly, before we get any rest.” Arias said.
“Makes sense.” The other replied.
They fell into a peaceful quiet after that, the crutching of last years fallen leaves under their heels.
~
It was another hour and a half before Osora told Arias,
“Can we rest for the night, please? I’m getting really tired and we still have to set up the tent.
“Shit, yeah. Let’s go find a place to sleep.” They searched around for a few minutes before finding a place of trees that thickly wooded and they quickly grabbed the “tent” materials Arias had packed.
“I don’t… remember you mentioning a tent that you packed?” Osora said through a yawn.
“Must of forgotten, sorry. It’s not much, I know.”
“We packed in one day, itll get by, Arias.” Osora said.
Once said tent was up, they climbed into their bags that when flattened turned into material that just made the ground semi bearable for the night.
“Only thing I miss about Calaveras right now is Celia and my bed.” Osora muttered, climbing next to Arias, as their sleeping arrangements squished them together since it was a regular two person sized tent and Arias was the size of 1.5 people, making them cuddle. (Not that they didn't want to, don't be alarmed)
“It's only temporary, we'll have our own bed soon.” Arias whispered before Osora was out cold.
~
By day 3 they had a routine set up, take down last nights camp, walk about 50 miles in a day, with periodic breaks, set up their spot for the night, and sleep for about 7 hours before repeating the process all over again. If Osora at the end was tired but Arias knew they had to walk more to feel safe, he would give Osora both bags to put on his back and carry Osora on his back instead of the bag. By day 5, they guessed that they were out of Calaveras. It wasn't for another two days after that did they find any signs of civilization in the form of getting out the forest (finally) and finding a road into a town.
They walked through and while the place seemed nice, they decided to walk for another day or so until they found another city just to make sure they were far enough away from their old lives.
And their first look at the next town, the next day, they knew they were staying.
Chapter 2: Maycot

Chapter Text
They didnt know why, but as soon as Osora stepped into the town square, he could breathe a sigh of relief and felt… calm? here.
“You like it here.” Arias said, somehow sensing Osora’s feeling of easiness for the first time since they left.
“Yeah.” Osora whispered.
It was probably around 8, the sun having risen a while ago. The town square had an old stone bridge over a stream. The smell of baking bread and fresh cut flowers permeated the couple’s sense of smell. The buildings were a mix of wood and stone, modest. It was earlier that they were the only ones on the street for about the next five minutes.
“Town office?” Arias said. Osora nodded.
Suddenly something hit Osora. His name. It was extremely rare. Osora Calaveras. They were in the place where everyone knew the name Calaveras.
“What’s on your mind?” Arias asked. How did he know?
“Everyone’s gonna know who I am when I tell them my name…” Osora whispered as they read the signs to the town office, making their way there.
“Okay, then… do you want to come up with different names?” Arias asked as the blonde reached for their water.
“Probably smart.” Osora said, before taking another sip.
“And you can take my last name if you want.” Osora spat out his water.
“Are you proposing to me?” Osora tried to joke.
I’ll never admit it but what I wouldn’t give to marry Arias.
“Maybe I am.” Arias shot back, a smile on his face.
Osora gripped the collar of his shirt and shoved Arias against the wall.
“Listen here, moron-”
“You like it.” Arias stated matter of factly. “You like the idea.” Osora sharply turned away.
“Let's go.” Osora growled. Arias stepped back in line next to Osora and planted a kiss to his hair.
“I love you.” Arias whispered.
“...Love you too.”
Arias smiled.
~
And so it was decided during their walk. Osora’s new name was Alex, and Arias’s was Thomas. They arrived at the town hall within ten minutes and were greeted by a man with darker skin, short, curly hair the color of wood. He was wearing a necklace with what looked like a wedding ring attached to it, a green tank top, and black pants.
“Welcome to Maycot, what can I do for you?” He asked Arias and Osora.
“We're looking to move here.” Arias explained, “Do you know where we should go to see the houses for sale?”
“Right over to that man over there.” He said, pointing to what the couple guessed was a sergo man, with light skin, horns, long red hair, brown eyes, and a small face. He wore a baby blue shirt with brown pants and… was that a matching necklace to the man they were just talking to? “He’s my husband.” The man helping them explained, “Ashtrow! We got some people looking for a house!” He called. The sergo man, Ashtrow, looked at Arias and Osora, smiled, and motioned for them to follow him. The pair looked at each other before complying.
~
They ended up purchasing a one bedroom, one bath one story cabin, with a large room as the other room besides the bathroom and the bedroom. It was already furnished (thank god) with a plot of land between the house and the steam that led into town. The stream came from a different forest than the one they had emerged from, which was also where some of their land was. They also had some of the land across the stream but would have to build a bridge to make it accessible.
“Sign here.” Ashtrow said, bringing them some papers for the house. Osora immediately grabbed a pen and wrote O-
“Alex.” Arias said, catching Osora off guard. They stopped and looked down, before over it putting:
Alex Arguitrez
They passed the pen to Arias who quickly scribbled:
Thomas Arguitrez
Arias gave it to Ashtrow and he smiled.
“Alrighty then.” The sergo said. He gave them some money. “Converted your guys' Calaveras money to ours. You’ll be set for a while. I’m sure you two want to get to your new house?” Arias and Osora nodded. “Follow me.”
Osora anxiously gripped Arias’s hand as they walked.
“You okay, baby?” Arias asked them.
“Yeah.” Osora whispered.
“When we get there you can go take a bath and I’ll unpack.”
“Good idea.”
A few minutes later they reached the cabin and Ashtrow tossed them the keys.
“Home sweet home.” He said.
Arias unlocked the door.
Chapter 3: What does Arias love? Osora and food, mainly Osora
Notes:
I wasn’t stalking the comments for this weeks post and am now very impatient. If anyone who’s read the canvas would like to tell the impatient bitch writing this what happens, I would be very happy but you don’t have to. I was (probably am) thinking about doing what I think should happen in next weeks chapter. Should I?
On another note, my friend (who has free Osora lame) was not very happy when I was showing our other friend the fast pass
I saw a comment talking about how arias’s 5 favorite things are 4 differnent Osora things and the and food so I stole that idea for the chapter title
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
After they both were clean they had fallen asleep in the bed. It wasn’t as good as Osora’s old one, but it wasn't a bed that “royals” were sleeping in. But the fact was it was a bed and that was all Osora and Arias needed.
Osora opened his eyes but decided not to get up and just nuzzled his face into Arias’s chest.
“You mind giving me some of the blanket, sweetheart?” Arias asked. Osora: The Blanket hog. They grabbed some of the blankets and placed them on top of Arias.
“Happy?”
“Always when I’m with you.” Arias whispered.
“I’m sleeping now.” Osora muttered.
“Alright, I’ll be right here.”
~
Osora woke up by the sound of their stomach. He groaned.
“Good, you're awake.” Arias said, taking that as permission to fling off the covers. “I'm dying for some real food.” Arias went outside before returning with their clothes.
Osora had taken a really long bath so Arias did the laundry as they both had only packed about 3 days worth of clothing, making it work by washing it in the small bodies of water they found along the way.
“That sounds amazing.” Osora said, grabbing some of theirs and hurrying to the bathroom.
A moment later they were out of the house, Osora shouting at Arias to remember the keys (Ew domestic).
“I like it here.” Arias said.
“Me too.” Osora said. “Arias, can I ask you something?”
“Of course, you never have to ask.” Arias said, glancing at him for a split second.
Osora hesitated.
“Do you really think they let people… like us get married?”
Take the hint, moron.
“I mean, they do say its lawless up here but there’s still some sense of order up here.” Arias said, thinking out loud. “Remember Morasco?” Osora nodded. “I’m the only one who knows this, but the reason he left was because he was exiled, for being gay so… it would make sense. We're no longer in a country full of bigots, ‘Sora. Yeah, there’s still probably some still but, we actually have a community here. You heard what that guy was saying earlier, Ashtrow was his husband.”
“Yeah.” Osora whispered, thinking too hard.
“Love you.”
“Don't say that, Arias.” They were the only ones they could see, so it was alright to call them by their birth names.
“But you love me too.”
“You win, idiot.” Osora muttered. The dark haired man smiled, slipping his hand into Osora’s.
~
Ding, ding, ding. The bell went off over their heads as they walked into the tavern in town. The place was small and dark, with only a few windows. It was practically made of wood, and a few people were sitting at the bar. There was a sergo… person, who didn't look like a male or female behind the counter, serving the people. The sergo had dark skin, green and purple eyes, and was wearing an apron on top of their clothes. Arias and Osora sat down on two chairs at the end of the bar.
“Hello.” The Sergo said, coming up to the couple. Their voice was light and bubbly, just like their white hair. “What can I get for you?” They grabbed a pad of paper from their apron.
“Two beers?” Osora asked, looking at Arias.
“Sure. And what do you guys have for food?” Arias asked.
“Pot pie, meatloaf, roast chicken, soup, which I don’t think you want in this weather, stuff like that.” The sergo said, placing two big mugs of alcohol in front of them.
“I’ll take some meatloaf.” Arias said.
“I’ll take pot pie.” Osora answered.
“Chicken or turkey?” The bartender asked.
“Turkey please.” The blonde answered.
~
“Hey, Sam!” Osora said when they were about to leave, getting the attention of the sergo. “We’re obviously new in town so I was wondering if you know of any places that are hiring?”
Sam, the sergo thought for a moment.
“I believe the flower shop. And if your boyfriends also looking for work, the training place is always looking for new people to teach the kids how to defend themselves. He looks like he knows how to fight.”
“…he does.” Osora whispered. “And he’s not my boyfriend.”
Sam laughed before touching Osora’s hand. When they felt this Osora immediately snatched it closer to himself.
“Sweetheart, I don’t know where you guys are from, but no one cares here. You don’t have to pretend. “I’m not a boy or a girl and I’m guessing you’ve met Ashtrow. You can’t hide your love for each other, even if you tried. I’m gonna guess one of the reasons why you guys either left or got exiled was because of your relationship. I think there are only 4 or 5 hetero couples in this town out of about 300 people. Welcome to a homosexual community.” Sam explained.
“Wow.” Osora muttered, astonished people would openly say such things or that there was even a community. “Thanks Sam.”
“Of course.” Sam went back to their job and Osora left.
“You good?” Arias asked as he’d been outside for Osora and Sam’s conversation.
“Yeah, just turns out we can actually… be together here.” Osora explained.
“I told you it was a good idea to move here.” Arias teased.
“Shut up.” Osora groaned.
“I’m good thanks.”
“They did mention that if you wanted to find a job, you could teach the local kids how to defend themselves.” Osora said, needing to change the subject.
“I thought I was gonna tend to our garden.”
“It’s September Arias and it snows here, I think gardening is a little done.”
“If money gets tight I’ll do it. I don’t want to fight too much anymore, though unless we’re defending each other.”
“Me too. Ashtrow also said that we have a lot of money.”
“True. You know I was thinking,” Arias said dropping his voice low, “that now that we have our own place, we don’t have to have guards right outside your door, or have people find out because of the bruises I give you when-“
Arias slapped a hand over the brunettes mouth.
“We’re in public!” They hissed, checks the color of the leaves next to them.
“Love you too.” Arias said when Osora finally dropped their palm.
“Shut up, you know I do.”
Notes:
Osora?!? Taking after their mother?!?! After this weeks chapter?!?! Gardening?!?!?!?! Not as much as a shock as you’d think
(Yes I realize that the flower shop will be closed in the winter, I live in a place where snow doesn’t fully melt until April, I’ll deal with it later)
Chapter 4: Not good enough
Notes:
So…. I’m back from dropping off the face of the earth especially for this fic as I completely had a writers block when it came to this fic :3
But buckle up for some hurt/comfort cause I’m solely writing that rn apparently :3
Chapter Text
After finally getting back to their new home, the sun was setting and the couple, kicked off their shoes, and grabbed their few articles of clothing, changing into their pjs.
“We need to go get some more clothes tomorrow.” Arias said with a frown.
“That we do.” Osora agreed.
Osora already had their clothes and when Arias turned around, he saw Osora in the middle of taking off his binder. Arias dropped his own clothes, mouth opened slightly.
Osora looked over and gave Arias a soft smile.
“What moron?” Osora asked, still smiling at Arias.
“I’m sorry for starring.” Arias whispered, walking into the bathroom. And for my thoughts. Arias thought, feeling his pants get tight. Deep breaths, deep breaths, calm down. It’s just Osora, you need to get your mind out of the gutter, Arias.
Arias quickly got changed and when he came out, he found Osora sitting on the edge of the bed, taking sips of water from the cup in his hand. Arias smiled. Yeah, this was something normal that everyone does, drinking water, but it was Osora doing it and that made all the difference.
***
There was a knock at the door and when Osora opened it, he dropped the jar in his hands.
Suddenly there were guards pushing Osora and coming into the cabin. The king was holding his son and as soon as Osora knew it, he heard arguing and Arias getting dragged out of the bedroom in handcuffs. Osora broke out of the hug his father forced him into and ran to Arias. His dad said something to the guards and before Osora was completely to Arias, one of the guards raised his sword and-
Osora sat up quickly, breaths sawing in and out. They glanced quickly over at Arias, who looked like he was about to wake. Shit. Shit. Shit. Osora, through his tears and unstable breathing, walked out of the room. I can’t wake him up. I’m already bad enough.
Arias woke up when he went to hug Osora half asleep and didn’t feel them. He stood up when his suspicions were confirmed of an Osora-less bed. He walked into the joint living room and kitchen to find Osora’s face over the sink, their arms braced on the counter on either side of the sink, the candlelight catching the tears falling from Osora’s eyes.
“Baby?” Arias whispered, walking towards him.
Osora’s head whipped in the direction of Arias’s voice, labored breaths panicked and quiet sobs escaping him every few moments.
”Hey. Hey.” Arias whispered in what he hoped was a soothing tone for the blonde as we gave them a hug. Osora desperately clinged to him after initially flinching and sobbed into Arias’s shirt.
“Shhh. It’s alright, I’ve got you. We’re safe. I’m right here.” Arias comforted, his face buried into Osora’s hair as he rocked both of them from side to side.
What happened? Arias wondered while he soothed, I don’t even know the last time I saw Osora cry.
“I’m… I’m sorry, Arias.” Osora whispered after a while.
“For what, sweetheart?” Arias asked.
Osora sniffled. “I don’t deserve you.”
“You deserve me, don’t be sorry for that.” Arias whispered. “What happened?”
“You…you died.” Osora admitted.
“How could I have died? I’m holding you, right?”
“They found us. My dad and the guards and my dad told them to kill you cause I-“ Osora broke themselves off with a sob.
“You had a bad dream?” Arias asked the still shaking blonde in his arms.
Osora nodded.
“You’re sorry for having a bad dream?! Osora, they happen to all of us, that's nothing to be sorry for.” Arias said as he kissed Osora’s forehead.
“I-I…youre gonna be mad.”
“Mad at what, sweetie? You can tell me, I won’t be mad.” Arias said as he gently coaxed them towards the couch.
“I-I… I may have c-cut again…”
Arias’s heart stopped.
“I’m sorry. I can leave.” Osora said after Arias didn’t answer, standing up. Tears were shining in his eyes and Arias grabbed them, pulling him back onto the couch.
“You’re not leaving.” Arias told sternly. “And I need to know why. I get that as soon as we’re back together that’ll not stop you hurting yourself but we still need to talk about it.” Arias explained.
“I thought I lost you. Forever cause of that dream. My brain was telling me I was a burden and there’s like this itch, I know it’s not a good itch, but it’s still there, that can only be gone with when I cut. I know I’m a broken mess and you shouldn’t want to put up with me so if you ever want me to leave or want to leave, I’d get it-“
“Osora. I love you but those thoughts telling you you’re a burden or that I want to leave are fucking false and you need to get them out of that head of yours. While I can’t do much to help you not have those dreams, if you feel like you want to hurt yourself again, I need you to come talk to me. It doesn’t matter if I’m asleep or in the shower or whatever. You. Come. First. Always. I will drop whatever I’m doing to make you feel safe and happy. Can you promise me that?”
Osora nodded, sniffling.
“Words baby.”
“I promise.”
“Good, now we need sleep let’s go back to bed.” Arias said as he picked up and carried Osora to bed.
“…Ari?” Osora whispered when Arias was climbing into bed alongside them.
“Yes, love?”
Osora’s cheeks did not flare read at that pet name thank you very much.
“Can…can we cud-…cuddle?” Osora asked sheepishly.
“Of course we can.” Arias said as he pulled osora to his chest, arms protectively around them.

Chapter Text
The smell of breakfast was what woke the blonde up. His eyes still didn't feel correct, like they were still tingling from last night. The door creaked as Osora pushed it open. They found Arias in the kitchen, looming over what looked like rice, eggs, pork, and some sort of seasonings.
“The fuck are you doing?” Osora asked, a blanket draped across his shoulders.
“Sit.” Arias said, somewhat sternly, pointing the knife he had been using to cut up the pork, towards the couch behind him, in front of the fire. Osora did as they were told.
What the fuck has gotten into him?... Is… Is he mad about last night? I knew I should have never told him.
“That alright love?” Is what Osora heard Arias ask. Shit, shit. I’m being awful.
“S-Sorry, what was that, Arias?” Osora asked, fiddling with the corners of his blanket, while looking down at the floor.
“I said that I made arroz con tocino, is that okay?” Arias repeated, no hint of annoyance in his voice, as he handed Osora a bowl of the pork rice with a fried egg on top.
“Yeah, it is.” Osora muttered as he took the bowl and brought a spoonful to his mouth.
Osora didn't know if it was because he was feeling like actual shit or what, but the food tasted like sandpaper. And this was one of his favorite breakfasts.
“Moron, what’s wrong?” Arias asked, sitting down on the other side of the couch.
“Nothing, idiot. What’s wrong with you?” Osora asked defensively. They couldn't tell him. Arias would hate him.
“Well, you’re lying. C’mon, talk to me.” Arias insisted. Jesus Christ, I need to purchase a better cooking book. Arias marveled when he tasted whatever concoction he made forced onto himself and Osora for breakfast. “Is it breakfast? This is the first time I’ve tried to make something.”
“I mean, it’s not made by palace staff but I’ll eat it.” Osora tried to joke. It didn't work.
Arias sighed, “Osora. I said to talk to me. We need communication, what’s going on?”
“Are you sure you're not upset about last night?” Osora asked after a few minutes of eating breakfast. They didn't want to upset Arias and waste food.
“That’s what this is about?” Arias asked, setting down his plate on a little table next to them.
Osora bit his lip as they looked down at the bowl in his hands.
“I-Its just, why do you still want me?” Osora softly asked.
“Osora, I knew about you hurting yourself before we left Calaveras. I still wanted to run away with you at that point, right?”
Osora nodded to the brunette’s question.
“So why now, after you were a few minutes after hurting yourself but I still knew you were doing it, not want you? How does that work, baby?” Arias asked, his whole body turned towards his love.
Osora sniffled before saying, “I don't know.”
“Okay. Anything I can do to help?”
“...Can you hold me?” Osora whispered.
Arias’s shoulders dropped in relief as he smiled a soft smile, bring Osora into his arms.
“Really tough order, bud, I don't know…”
“You’re an asshole, you know that?” Osora said as he flipped off Arias.
Arias just chuckled.
“I’m aware, sweetheart. I love you, you know?”
“Yeah, definitely an asshole.”

Chapter Text
It had been about 2 weeks. Osora had gone to the plant nursery/ attached bookstore and ended up getting hired. Arias had purchased a better cookbook and was thus making better meals from said cookbook, with only a few times where the chicken looked like it could still wake up the whole neighborhood at the first sight of light.
All in all, it had been a pretty good time together.
***
“Osora.” Arias called that faithful day. He was cleaning off the dishes while Osora was getting ready for work.
“Yeah?” Osora asked back, they walked into the kitchen, in pants and his binder, shirt in hand.
Once he noticed, Arias stopped for a moment before catching himself. “Sorry, I forget the fact that-”
“It's alright, idiot.” Osora said as they slipped on the shirt, “What’s up?”
“I-I was thinking, maybe after your shift, if you wanted to head out into the woods and see what there is?”
“Like a lake we can make out at and have the sergos show up again?” Osora asked.
“I mean, we don't have to sneak out to kiss again, this is our house after all.” Arias noted.
Osora chuckled softly.
“But yeah,” Osora told Arias, “I do like the idea of going out and exploring.”
***
Osora had found that they really did like their job. He blamed his mother, but they always had a fascination with plants, but as prince he couldn't really use it as a hobby, (with the exception of that one time) so now, without the majestic title, just as an exile named Alex, Osora could now pursue and learn all he wanted to about plants. The plantshop also had a little bookstore that all the employees migrated to working at during the snowy winter. They were fine with this little store, but he much preferred the plants over books. Today, however, Osora had been assigned to work in the bookstore. He made a blink-and-you'll-miss-it face when he heard this, but none the less, got to work.
The shop had been slow for like 10 minutes before Osora decided to go explore around the shop, and shelf some new books that had just been sold to them.
While, yes, there were many different languages, meaning many different books the average person might not be able to understand and shelf, Osora was not that. Because of the whole thing before a month ago, Osora was practically fluent in all 5 languages the bookstore had sold. It had been funny, really, when the owner, Jamini, had asked Osora how many of the languages they knew after Jamini listed them off, and Osora replied all of them. It was a fun conversation.
Once the few books had been shelved and there had not been a single customer that walked in, Osora wandered over to the corner where the books in the Calaveras language were. He looked around before he saw one titled: Why can’t we love? The title sounded gay so Osora flipped it over to read what it was about, and, yep, this book seems to be gay as fuck.
Osora headup back up to the counter, wrapping a booted foot around one of the chair legs to bring it closer, and sat down to read this.
***
A while passed before Osora heard the door open and someone asked,
“Do you know, by chance, if there are any books in Calavarian here?”
Osora looked up to see a tiny woman with tan skin, long blonde hair, and blue eyes. Osora rounded behind the counter to the actual shop, and showed her to the corner.
“We have books in Calaverian, Galinish, Farrocken, Nystrah, and Kepania.” Osora told the woman, “Do you need help finding a certain book or you just wanted to see what there is?”
“Just see.” She told them.
***
When Osora exited the store, their shift complete, he found Arias just casually leaning against the side of the storefront.
“What are you doing here, moron?” Osora hissed.
“Oh, what? Now that we've left, I still can't be seen in your almighty presence?” The brunette asked, ruffling blonde tufts.
Osora did not turn a shade of pink on their cheeks as they whispered, “Fine.”
“To answer your question, however, I thought before we go exploring, we’d hit the pub we went to on our first day here? That sounds okay?” Arias asked them, as he slipped his hand into Osora’s.
“Yeah.” Osora muttered, pulling both of them towards the pub.
***
After a good, healthy portion of beer and soup for Arias and pot pie for Osora, the couple headed back to their house. However, once they got there, Arias filled their canteens, that they still had from their trip north, with water and they set off out the back door.
About 20 feet away from the back of the house, was a stream where they planned to build a bridge at some point to get to the other land they owned. To the left was the way into town and to the right was a hill that led to the forest, where they planned to walk through.
They only had about an hour before the sun completely set and they planned on making the most of that time, finding everything they ever wanted.
***
When they got home, about an hour and a half later, Osora showered and when they saw Arias was relaxing on the bed, reading the book Osora was reading earlier and decided to buy, he came up with a silly little plan.
They walked over to Arias’s side of the bed, plucked the book from his grasp, and flopped on top of Arias before pulling them into a searing kiss. Arias, obviously, kissed the love of his life back, and after a few minutes of full on making out and grinding against each other, Arias moved his hands to the top of Osora’s PJ shorts.
“Can I take these off?” He whispered against Osora’s lips.
“...Umm…” Osora whispered, pulling away from the kiss and biting their lip.
“No? That’s alright.” Arias reassured him.
“I-I,” Osora started, “I do, but…but…”
“Take your time.” Arias whispered.
“My cuts are on my thighs.” They got out.
“Are you saying no because you don't want me to see them, or you think I don't want to see them?” Arias asked.
“Do you want to see how disgusting and disgraceful I am?!” Osora shot the words out like they were poison.
“Baby,” Arias said as he pulled them to his chest, “If you want to wait, or whatever, that’s perfectly fine, but know that you are not disgusting or disgraceful just because you’ve cut yourself. I still want you, and, I mean, if you want, I can pretend not to even see them. I will never look down on you because of your scars, baby. I love you, alright?” He placed a longer kiss to Osora’s temple and felt them quivering.
“We can wait. I’m ready whenever you're ready, baby, alright?” Arias said as he twisted and blew out the candle on his nightstand.
“...You mean it?” Osora asked once they were settled in bed, although Osora was farther away from Arias than the brunette would like them to be.
“Why wouldn't I?” Arias asked, eyebrows scrutching in the darkness.
“Some people don't mean it.” Osora whispered.
“And I’m not one of those, ‘Sora. I love you and Ill never do anything to purposefully hurt you.” Arias vowed.
Then, and only then, did Osora turn over and bury his face in Arias’s chest, clinging to him like a koala.
