FAQ

Q: Where can I purchase tickets?
A: Tickets can be purchased at the kiosk by the entrance.

Q: What if I lose something on the train?
A: Please contact Lost & Found, which is located near the information stand.

Q: Are pets allowed?
A: Yes, as long as they’re in a carrier or leashed.

Q: Can I eat on the train?
A: Yes, you can.

Q: Where can I find the train schedules?
A: You can find them in the tab on the left of the screen called “Schedules”.

Q: Do you have a physical copy of the schedules?
A: Yes, absolutely! You can pop down over to the station and grab one from the information stand. Or, if you’re less willing to get out of your house, you could always download the latest copy and print it out.

Q: How much is one train ticket?
A:It varies from train to train, but you can find a table of them at the "Schedules" tab on the left of the screen, or at the information stand for a physical copy.

Q: Where do the trains lead to?
A: Well, that depends. Some of them are leading into the beautiful city of Le Terrière, and some of them are heading out. All of them are going somewhere. Except the ones that don’t, but that’s another story.

Q: What’s the story?
A: You see, some trains are stuck here. Not because they don’t work - no, our engineers have more than fixed them - but because they don’t want to. Visually, there is nothing wrong with them. Their wheels are unstuck, their engines are running, their carriages are linked; and, well. It’s complicated, really. Maybe you should ask them yourself.

Q: Are you going to close down the station because of the Plants?
A: No. The train station will remain open for as long as people need to travel; now more than ever.

Q: Why is the conductor still here?
A: Someone has to take care of the trains.

Q: Do you regret staying back?
A: How are you even getting the questions in.

Q: Will the Plants affect your train services?
A: Fortunately, no. The lovely engineers here at Le Terrière Train Station have found a way to prevent the Plants from infecting our trains.

Q: What's the method?
A: Now, that's a secret.

Camera Feeds

[camera 7 - atrium]

A weeping fig has sprouted through the cracks in the floor. Roots trace the concrete bricks; weave between discarded brochures and empty paper cups. They push against the pillars, sending jagged lines of instability running down the walls. Its branches droop downwards. Condensation rolls off the tips of teardrop leaves in a cacophony of drips; spill on the ground in puddles of decomposing dirt. The tree reaches up, a yawning maw of brown-yellow-greens. Sunlight streams in through the glass roof, through the dense leaves, through the twisted branches; dapples the rest of the room with spots of the midday sun.

[camera 12 - platform a]

The train is half-buried in a grave of dust and rubble and leaves. The fissures on its headlights are growing faster than the pink flowers and thorns penetrating the glass. Vines spill out of its engine and run their course along the train’s body, veins from a no longer beating heart. Cracks bloom in clusters on the caved-in walls with freckles of brownish-red rust sprinkled among them. The paint is peeling off in curled flakes, revealing the metal skeleton underneath. Around its slumped form, the platform crumbles. The silence is only broken by the wind whistling through its shattered windows.

[camera 17 - concourse]

The flashing flickering fluorescent lights from the screen of the vending machine illuminate the vines slowly creeping around its hulking metal frame, using the cracked and cracking glass to pull themselves up. They wrap themselves around the metal coils now devoid of its usual snacks, shaping shifting shadows that spread across the tiled ground. In the damp dark corner where water drip drip drips from an exposed pipe, brilliant bright branches of blue flowers bloom in bunches. The buzzing lights and buzzing machine and buzzing bees blend and overlap and melt into a symphony of noise and nature and silence.

[camera 19 - platform b]

The tracks are buried under mounds of shifted gravel and emerging shoots. Bulbs of gentle green sprout from beneath the rocks and sand and twisted metal. They crawl across the concrete floor, up the walls, settle themselves on the hanging sign leaning askew. Scattered among the grounded celadon is a constellation of dense, bristly stalks. Pollen drifts off the stems and on the wind; stardust floating across the sky. The weeds tower over the vibrant tapestry of moss, blocking the light with their long, twisting shadows. The floor is barely visible under this verdant, sprawling galaxy of bryophyte and angiosperms.
