Summary
“I’ve been here before.” He says. “When I died.” That was a stressful moment. A stressful time. It’s like a little tiny crack in the wonderful stained glass painting that is her life. That’s okay though, it’s still a wonderful thing. It’s still a wonderful creation that let her find Grian again and again and once more here.
She shushes him. There’s time for talking later, for now, just peace. He laughs. It sounds melodical.

He has the decency to look guilty at least. “Zane, I-“
”It wasn’t me. Vylad did that.” Keep them on their toes, always. Never let someone else find their footing in a conversation. It’s second nature now to always keep the verbal high ground. “I was busy with Father’s anger to deal with Mother’s weepiness.”

Bruce Wayne was having a terrible day. Not because he was zip-tied to a chair in an abandoned warehouse. Not because heavily armed mercenaries were threatening him and the other hostages. Not even because they'd somehow managed to incapacitate both Superman and Wonder Woman with specialized weapons that spoke of careful planning and inside knowledge. No, Bruce was having a terrible day because Green Lantern had just crashed through the ceiling in what had to be the most obvious rescue attempt in history, completely ruining Bruce's careful orchestration of events.

Opening his eyes, Clark was stunned to find his would-be-killer knocked out on the ground in front of him. Standing over the downed kidnapper was none other than Bruce Wayne, completely free of all his restraints.
He locked eyes with Clark, and there was nothing of the airheaded playboy in his eyes. In its place was a steely focus, the likes of which Clark had only ever seen from one person before.
Or
The Justice League is called in to rescue Bruce Wayne after he gets kidnapped at a gala, and Bruce can only watch his team get beat up for so long before stepping in.
