Chapter 1: Just good enough.

Astro, Dandy, Sprout and Shelly. The populars. Everyone knew their names, everyone wanted to be their friend so they could be popular too. It seems they never talk to anyone outside their group tho, just each other.

The teachers liked them, well... Some teachers seemed not to quite like Astro and Dandy, maybe because they never wore their school uniforms. There's a rumour that they threatened the principal so the two of them didn't have to wear those uniforms. But it's just a rumour. If someone ever pointed it out to them, they would probably get away with it.

The four of them have a great reputation, and everyone likes them. In a world like this, as long as you have a good reputation. You could get away with anything.
But I'm not here to talk about the two of them.

There's Shelly, Shelly fossilian.
She's good, has good grades, looks good, a good personality, she's a nice person. But will she always be something more then just good and nice? She's good not great.

One day, the four of them were eating in the cafeteria. They sat in their usual seats as they talked with each other. Great friends, you know? Always together.
Astro then said
-"I've met a girl from this school, maybe I can introduce her to you guys."

Dandy looked interested, same with Sprout and Shelly.

-"Sure, what's her name?"
Sprout asked.

-"Vee V1. She wanted to meet all of you way sooner. I just didn't have the time to ask if you guys would want to meet her."
Astro answered.

-"That's cool. I hope she's nice."
Shelly added. Astro nodded with a smile.

After lessons.

Shelly walked out of school, saying a final good bye to her friends for the day and walking towards her house. Tisha runned up to her.

Tisha is Shelly's best friend, they lived next to each other and have been friends since they were children. They chatted as they walked towards their houses.

-"I wish I had a partner... I hate being single."
Shelly said with a sad tone.

-"Then start looking for one? You won't find a partner if you don't look for people who like you."
-"I'm too lazy for that."
-"Well, nobody will come out of the blue saying they love you, Shelly."
-"I wish someone did that."
Their talk ended when Tisha walked into her house, and Shelly walked into her own house.

The next day.

Dandy, Sprout and Shelly talked together in the hall. Then Astro walked up with a girl behind him, Vee probably...

-"Guys, this is Vee!"
Astro said with a happy tone.

The other two immediately got to know Vee. They seemed to like her.

Vee... she had a mean personality! She's arrogant and blunt! Yet, after she joined their group... She seemed to be more liked than Shelly!! Shelly was always nice towards everyone, and she had great manners! But suddenly this outdated tech comes out of nowhere and steals her spotlight??... This ended up with Shelly heavily disliking Vee.

Shelly always avoided conversations with Vee, while the other girl had no idea what she had done wrong to deserve this treatment! Somehow it didn't bother Vee that much... She refused to say why..

Chapter 2: no words

Hi, me again, somehow the curse didn't get me yet. Every day I wake up with fear. (jk I don't sleep during the night)

Shelly walked to school with Tisha as always. Today was quite... tense? You could say that. Shelly was quiet almost the whole walk. She then said.
-"Vee's annoying, don't you think?"
hoping the other would agree.

-"Not this again.." Tisha stopped for a second. -"It seems like Vee is just trying to be your friend."
The cyan tissue box girl said.

Shelly rolled her eyes and continued to walk, now going faster. Why was she so bothered by Vee? Tisha could only wonder. When they arrived at the school. They went their own ways. Tisha went to her class, and Shelly went to hers.

Shelly was the last one to come to school out of the populars today, Dandy, of course, had to say something.

-"Oh look, she has finally arrived!"
Dandy said as he winked.

He was a good friend of Shelly's. He always managed to make her smile. The group began to talk. Shelly seemed to avoid the conversation. None of them knew why, but they didn't bother to ask. Maybe she had a rough day? She had a rough day for the past few days. Maybe something is actually up? One of them decided to do something. Sprout grabbed Shelly by the shoulder and pulled off to the side.

-"Shelly, is everything okay?"
Sprout said, he had always been overprotective of his friends.

-"I'm perfectly fine, Sprout. One person just keeps getting on my nerves lately."
-"Someone getting you mad? That's unusual. You rarely get mad!"
-"Well, she just is."
Shelly said with a passive-aggressive tone before going back to the group.

She? a girl.. Sprout may have suspicions about who's annoying Shelly. But he doesn't recall any girl being that annoying. He decided not to think about it that much and went back to the group too. The bell rang and they walked to the classroom.

Vee could hear people whispering behind her. 'Is that Vee?' 'I think so.' 'She's pretty'... Vee just smiled, she was used to people calling her pretty, after all.. she was THE VEE! She was used to compliments and other stuff.

Yet she never got compliments from the only one she wanted them from. They always seemed annoyed around her. Did Vee do something to annoy them?

After the bell rang again, the students ran out of their classrooms like they would die if they didn't. The classes ended, and everyone started to walk out of the school. The populars stood in front of the school for a few minutes, just quickly chatting with each other for the last time today. Tisha then ran up to Shelly, not giving a fuck if she was with her other friend group currently. She then said

-"Let's go Shelly!!"
The girl said with a happy tone.

Shelly smiled, she nodded, and the two walked away. The three men didn't care that much, they knew Shelly and Tisha were best friends. Vee didn't, she felt quite mad...

That afternoon, Vee texted Astro by accident.

Chapter 3: a word with a friend

Summary:

OMG GUYS BRIGHTNEY FINALLY SHOWS UP!! YEAH!!!!!! OMG SHE'S FINALLY ADDED TO THE STORY!! GUYS LOOK!

hi guys, sorry for my long break. I forgot I had an account on my computer and forgot to update this fanfic. No the ao3 curse did not get me!!^^ I am still alive and well :3

Vee walked to the school. She passed by the usual homes and shops. On the way to school, she saw Shelly and Tisha walking together! Maybe she should approach them? No, that's a bad idea... Shelly doesn't seem, in a good mood lately. Vee was curious what made Shelly so aggressive lately. She heard from multiple people that Shelly is a very nice person! Was Shelly always like that? Vee is still new to the group..

Vee decided to push those thoughts away and mind her own business. Not think about someone's feelings! She's not a therapist!

In the school hall, Vee chatted with her best friend, Brightney! Lately, Vee's been mostly talking about the populars, which annoyed Brightney, but nothing she can do about it. Astro walked up to Vee and said

-"hey, vee! What are you doing here? I was looking everywhere for you!"
The moon guy said with a happy tone.

-"Ah.. I was just talking with my other friend Astro..."
Vee said with a quieter voice than usual.

-"You must be Astro?"
Brightney asked.

Astro confirmed, the two introduced each other. After that, Astro just grabbed Vee away and back to the populars. On the way there, it was quite silent. They didn't talk, they just walked. Suddenly, out of the blue, Astro said.

-"Hey Vee... About those texts from last night..."
Astro said, not trying to embarrass Vee. He was just curious.

Vee immediately began to say she didn't mean to send those texts, that it was a mistake, and she begged him not to tell anyone because that would be 'soo embarrassingggggg'... Astro agreed not to tell anyone, he would never! Vee was grateful to have a friend like Astro.

When the two got to the group, they saw Shelly happily chatting with Sprout and Dandy about something, but the second she saw Vee was coming her personality immediately changed. What is with her lately? No one knew. Shelly just took out her phone, scrolling through TikTok, completely ignoring what the rest were talking about.

Vee was quite sad, yet she didn't show it! She's the great and perfect Vee! She can't just be sad because someone is... Annoyed by her presence? No, that can't be! Yeah, it probably isn't that!

Later in the day, it was a longer break, so Vee went back to talk to Brightney.

-"Brightney! Oh, I'm so happy I came to talk with you!"
Vee said excitedly.

-"Oh vee! What is it?"
Brightney just asked in her usual tone.

-"Not much, you know. I'm so happy that I somehow got Astro to like me! Now I get to talk with Shelly every day!"
-"Right, Shelly, the girl that hates your guts and does not want to engage with you."
-"Whaaat?"
-"ugh... Vee, when was the last time Shelly was happy around you?"
-"That doesn't mean anything!"
-"It means a lot. Vee, you've got to realise she does not like you! And everyone can see that, BUT you!"
Brightney then began to walk away.

But right around the corner was Tisha, who had heard their entire conversation. So Vee likes Shelly? That's surprising. Vee went back to the group but saw Tisha.

... None of them talked. Tisha mumbled a quiet 'Shelly will never believe me' and walked away.

Vee went back to the group, slightly confused but fine as always!

After the school day ended, it was Shelly and Tisha going back home again. Tisha trying desperately to convince Shelly that what she heard was right! Yet Shelly ignored Tisha...

When Shelly got home, she saw a new notification. Someone texted her something? It was an unknown number, the text said
"hey, is this shelly? This is Vee. Dandy gave me this number."
Shelly immediately got annoyed and blocked the number.

Chapter 4: sickness!

Summary:

uhhhhhhh shelly pretends to be sick because she hates vee lol

I have no idea why I am still writing this, please.

Shelly was too lazy to go to school today, nothing bad will happen, right? She just... Doesn't want to go to school today, and see Vee again! God! Her hatred is so shockingly huge for a toon like her! Shelly didn't get up from bed. She just texted in the group chat 'Sorry guys, I won't be in school today. I'm sick^^' and went back to sleep.

At school. Dandy, Astro and Sprout were talking like nothing. They read the message on the group chat. But you know who didn't? Vee! She was hurrying in the morning and didn't have time to read it. When she got to school, she was quite confused. Why wasn't Shelly at school? She walked up to the group and asked.

-"Hey, guys. Where's Shelly? Is she late or something?"
Vee asked.

-"You didn't read? Shelly's sick."
Dandy said, like it were something obvious to know.

-"Shelly texted the gc in the morning that she's sick and won't come to school."
Sprout added

Vee just nodded. The bell rang, and the four walked into the classroom. The lesson was quite boring, nothing interesting to learn. Besides the teacher talking, you could hear some students talking quietly with each other. A normal lesson in a public school...

After the class ended. Vee was walking with the others. She saw Tisha, she's Shelly's friend, right? Maybe she can learn some things about Shelly from her! God, that sounded like Vee has an obsession... She just wants to be on good terms with Shelly!

Vee walked up to Tisha with a smile on her face. She tapped on Tisha's shoulder slightly to not scare her.

-"Heey... you're Tisha, right? Shelly's friend..."
-"Best friend! We've been friends since we were young! I'm surprised you're talking with me..."
-"Yeah... Good to know.. You know, it seems Shelly doesn't enjoy my presence that much... Since you're her best friend, I thought I could come to you for help!"
-"Oh well, you can never satisfy everyone! But I have no idea... It seems Shelly picks her friends very carefully..."
Oh great... so helpful...

-"Thanks anyways..."
Vee said and went back to the group.
Where else would she go? No matter where she goes or what she does, she has to go back to the group and talk with them. But ehh...

After school, Vee walked out of the school. This time not even stopping for a second to say bye to her friends! Oh, wait, but what is Shelly doing all this time? She's just sitting at home having fun with herself! Yet she had to grab some food from the nearby store... Begging any god that's up there for nobody from the school to see her.

Shelly was walking out of the stop with a bag of food for herself. In the corner of her eye, she saw Vee. She didn't want Vee to see her! What would she say? Ugh!

Of course, Vee noticed Shelly. She was confused. Wasn't Shelly sick? She wanted to see Shelly today anyways! It seems like god loves her! Vee walked up to Shelly.

-"Shellyyyyy!!"
Vee said loud enough for Shelly to hear.

Shelly looks at Vee. She was already annoyed.

-"Vee..."
Shelly answered quietly, clearly not happy to interact with Vee...

-"I thought you were sick! Why are you here?"
-"Ah... I had to buy some food badly and I decided to go even tho I'm sick..."
Shelly had to lie her way through... Why does this always happen to her...

-"You should go rest."
-"I will right after I get home, I swear."
-"Hope you recover as soon as possible!"
-"Right... uh, why are you so nice to me..?"
Shelly said without thinking.

Vee was surprised to hear that question.

-"Because we're friends, right? And I'm nice to all my friends!"
Vee said with a happy tone.

Shelly just said goodbye and walked away...
On the walk home, Shelly was thinking. Maybe Vee isn't that bad, maybe they can be friends? But at the same time, she didn't want to be friends with Vee. Isn't Vee stealing her place? Vee's replacing her. And yet, no matter what thought she has. She still goes back to the first one. Maybe. Just maybe. Vee isn't that bad...

Chapter 5: trying to be nicer

Summary:

MAYBEEEEE??? no, its to early.

Notes:

BRIGHTNEY AND TISHA HAVE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THOUGHTS ABOUT VEE AND SHELLY'S RELATIONSHIP WITH EACH OTHER, AND I JUST REALIZED THAT NOW LMAOOOO

After two more days of Shelly not going to school, she gave herself a break from that outdated tech. She decided to finally show up to school. She wanted to talk with Tisha again, other than over the phone.

Shelly was the first one to get to school out of the populars today, which surprised her since this doesn't happen often. Tisha then came up to her and talked with her for a while about Shelly 'not being sick anymore' and telling her all that happened in the past 3 days.

-"Oh, and also! Like three days ago, Vee asked me about you! I swear she's trying to befriend you!"
Tisha said, trying to convince Shelly.

At that, Shelly just rolled her eyes and ignored what Tisha said. Tisha stopped trying... For now... And walked away with a sad face. Then came Dandy. He made a joke about Shelly being the first to come and informed Shelly that Astro will come soon. Dandy just pushed him when they were running up the stairs to get to class. Not surprised, they were close... Sometimes too close for a 'just friends' way... But most ignored that! No way that the two most popular guys in school are gay for each other, right? ANYWAYS!
Dandy then asked.

-"Hey, you seem more uh... Mad lately? I have no idea how to put it, but I'm very curious! Who got you so riled up? It seems every time they pass by you, you immediately have a bad mood!"
Dandy said in a joking tone.

-"Ah... You could say they pass by me a lot... I just have a very bad feeling about them, haha..."
Shelly said, avoiding eye contact. She doesn't want to accidentally reveal that it's Vee! Dandy would call her a freak!

Dandy didn't push more, and soon enough, came Astro, whom Dandy had mentioned a while earlier. Astro yelled at Dandy for a good minute and then said a quick 'but it's fine'. The three talked, and soon came Sprout and Vee. Shelly's personality changed as always. Dandy was catching on fastly to who it could be... But he didn't want to say anything slightly mean.

Vee was happy to see Shelly at school, I mean, it's been 3 days! That's too long! Shelly seemed to feel the opposite about seeing Vee, and she wasn't very good at hiding it. But she had to get through it. She was still happy around her normal friends! Let's just... Ignore Vee, yeah, that'll do..

Shelly began to be talkative, like back then. Before Vee joined! Vee was happy to see Shelly happy... But Vee began to notice that Shelly was ignoring her. What is this?! No, that can't be true... Vee decided to ignore that, too! There's too much ignoring in one conversation, and it's starting to ruin the conversation.

Shelly, not wanting to be mad at someone in front of her friends, she just excused herself and went to the bathroom. In the bathroom, she just stood in front of one of the bathroom mirrors and mumbled to herself. On about how much she hated Vee, and how much she doesn't want her in that friend group.
Then the bathroom door opened.

-"Shelly? Wow, didn't expect you here."
A familiar voice said.

Shelly turned around and saw Ginger. She was Bobette's friend. Oh, right.. Bobette.. That girl barely went to school, some wondered how she still passed.

-"Ah.. right. I just needed to relax for a second..."
Shelly said quietly.

-"I understand, everyone gets mad from time to time."
-"You're quite calm..."
-"It's better to stay calm in a place like this. The more annoyed you get, the more people are going to bother you. At least that's what I think."
-"Uh-huh. How's Bobette? You two are close, right?"
-"She's having fun living her life, I wish I could be as ignorant about school as her..."
-"Yeah, I'm gonna go now.. Bye."
-"Bye."
Ginger said with a calm smile.

That random conversation with Ginger seemed to calm her down, even tho she doesn't know Ginger that well. It was nice talking...

When Shelly got back, the conversation seemed to lighten up a bit. Which is good. The ball rang and lessons again..

At the end of the day, Tisha approached Shelly. Trying again to convince Shelly. Which was annoying by now.
After school, the two walked to their houses like every other day. Tisha talked, and Shelly listened.

-"Hey, Shelly, can you at least be nicer to Vee?"
Tisha asked, this time not trying to beg Shelly. Just asking out of hope.

-"Why should I? She's just trying to take my place! Dim my light! I'm just good in others' eyes, always was! The second Vee joined our group, she was loved, and everyone loved her! Where's the fairness?"
Shelly almost yelled. Tisha looked away and quickly looked back.

-"Listen, maybe she doesn't mean it? Maybe she never wanted to be liked this much? She wants to be your friend!"
-"I doubt it."
-"I'm not joking, Shelly! She wants to get along with you, she does not want to make you annoyed!"
-"Right, you're just saying that so I will get along with her!"
Shelly this time yelled.

This was their first argument in YEARS.

-"At least promise me to be slightly nicer to her."
Tisha, this time, didn't yell back. She... begged? No, that's not it..

For the rest of the walk back home, Shelly was thinking about it... She shouldn't be nice to Vee! I mean, come on, Vee's just.. Shelly's reasons to hate Vee are still valid, but they are starting to sound worse and worse every time she says them again... Maybe.. Just maybe.. She'll be nicer to Vee.

Dandy and Astro are, in fact, gay for each other lmao. ALSO. TISHA HAS CONVINCED SHELLY. HURRAH HURRAH!!! EVERYONE CELEBRATEEE!!!!!

Chapter 6: friendship

Notes:

I am very happy how this fanfic is turning out. I am not going to abandon it like all my other works on wattpad. I'm dedicated to finishing it and happy to be writting new chapters for the few returning people who like my work. I am very thankful to anyone who has read all past 5 chapters and is waiting for more. Enjoy this one^^!!

Shelly and Tisha walked to school together, Tisha rambling about some stuff while Shelly listened and answered from time to time. In the corner of her eye, she saw Vee walking. Shelly remembered the promise she was supposed to agree to yesterday. But she still doesn't know how to feel about Vee...

I guess it wouldn't hurt to be slightly nicer? Just try, that'll work. The two continued to walk until they reached school. When they reached that awful building, they went their separate ways. They were in different classes, which pissed them off. But they still stayed best friends no matter what.

Shelly walked up to the group, joining the conversation. Being happy, and this time not ignoring Vee. Which was good. She was still annoyed. But was... 'slightly nicer'or something. The bell rang, and the group walked into the class. The teacher informed them about a 'group project' that they were supposed to do in pairs. Some got happy, some annoyed. Then the teacher said, 'I will be picking the groups.'. Everyone then got annoyed about this project.
I mean, the teacher picking the groups was the worst! Nobody likes that!

Shelly was paired up with Astro, which she didn't mind, neither did he, but we all know who Astro would rather be paired up with...
Vee got paired up with Dandy, but both of them would rather be with someone else.
Sprout with some random he didn't know.

It was a quick one-lesson project where they just had to write a lot of information on one paper about this subject blah blah blah.... They were doing good. Just trying to get over with this as fast as they can. Astro then said to Shelly.

-"I wish I could be paired up with Dandy..."
He said, not trying to be mean.

-"I think most of the people in this class wish they had been paired up with somebody else."
Shelly answered calmly.

-"yeah.. I just miss sitting with Dandy..."
-"uh-huh.... Cool... "
-"I worded that wrong.. We're just best friends!"
-"The school therapist would call you something else. A special word starting with the letter F..."
-"Oh come on!"
-"Whaaaaat? I'm just joking, hehe!"
Shelly laughed slightly, and Astro smiled slightly, and didn't argue any longer.

Dandy and Vee worked in silence. They got along, but yeah. They just wanted to be over with it.
After the lesson ended, Astro immediately ran up to Dandy with a smile. Just best friends, huh... Totallyyyyyy..

During lunch time, the group sat in the school canteen. They ate their food and talked. The school food isn't that good, but it's enough for a day. Sprout then said

-"Hey Shelly, you seem happier today. Did that somebody stopped talking to you?"
Sprout said the last bit jokingly.

-"huh..?"
Shelly was confused.

-"You know, that person who annoyed you! That every time they passed by, they ruined your mood? You seemed happier today. Did they stop bothering you?"
Dandy added, making Shelly remember what they were talking about..

-"I talked with them and got on good terms... We decided not to talk."
Shelly made up a story, she can't just say Tisha asked if she could be nicer towards Vee.

Lunch ended, and they went to their last lesson. After that, Vee went to Brightney to talk. With a smile on her face

-"Brightneeeeyyy!"
Vee said happily

-"Vee. Hey!"
Brightney was happy to talk with her friend.

-"Shelly has been nicer to me lately!"
-"Cool."
-"That means I have a chance! Small! But it's there!"
-"Vee stop fantazizing. What am I, your diary?"
-"No.. But I will tell you no matter what!"
-"I really doubt that Shelly is being nice to you because she wants to be nice. I'm sure one of her friends forced her to"
-"You're looking into it too much!"
-"Right. Well, I'm going to be late for my book club. I'm gonna go, have a great day, Vee"
Brightney said and walked away,

Vee rolled her eyes and went to leave the school. She quickly ran out outside to the rest who were leaving the school. They began chatting for the last time. Sprout mentioned something about a school party, but that subject went away pretty fast. They went their ways. Shelly decided to unblock Vee's number before Tisha or somebody else found out.

Chapter 7: silence

another chapter posted during night time, i swear at this point to read chapters the second they come out you gotta have the same sleep schedule as me lmao

Today was Saturday! A free day from school, oh, how much everyone loved that. Shelly woke up around 11AM. She grabbed her phone and saw 99+ notifications from the group. Who texts that early in the morning? God.. get some sleep people... She opened Messenger and scrolled all the way up to read all the texts as new ones appeared. When she read them all, she just joined the conversation. Dandy suggested they should all go to the park nearby.

The group agreed, they were supposed to meet each other there in around 2 hours, which gave Shelly enough time to get ready. When the time was close to 1PM, Shelly left her house and decided to start heading towards the park. She saw Dandy and Astro already there. She wasn't surprised. Shelly walked up to them as they began waiting for the other two. Dandy's dog, Pebble, was running around the park, but not far away from the three.

When Vee and Sprout finally came, the five had fun together. Astro wanted to get something from the store, Vee decided to go with him. Astro asked the others if they wanted something. The shop was close to the park. On the way there, Vee turned to Astro, curious about one thing.

-"Hey astro."
Vee said

-"Yeah?"
Astro looked at Vee

-"Is there something between you and Dandy? It seems that every time Dandy goes somewhere, you're right behind him. Like a shadow! Do you two live together or something?"
-"We do but.. It's not that big of a deal! We're just roommates! Good friends!"
-"You say that like you just don't want to say that you two are dating."
-"It's not like that, I swear!"
-"Whatever you say, Astro Novalite..."
-"Let's just go to the store and get what we need..."
Astro said, ending this conversation.

They arrived at the store and purchased some cold drinks for the five of them, as it was quite hot outside. They began heading back to the park, this time having a conversation different from the last one. When they returned, they saw the three of them chatting. Astro gave everyone a drink, and they continued to talk.

Vee sat next to Shelly, which Shelly didn't mind. She was supposed to be nicer towards Vee, and she will be! She's not going to break the promise that fast! That Tisha doesn't even know if she agreed to.. She should text Tisha about it soon...

Time was passing by, the five had fun. They decided to walk around the city because they were getting bored with sitting in the park. They passed by Shelly's house, and she decided to go back home. She said bye to her friends and walked inside. The four continued to walk.

All of them soon went to their own homes. At the end of the day, Vee decided to text Shelly.

Please. (shelly)

"Hey"
"Do you need something?"
"Just making sure, we're friends, right?"
"Right."
"Okay, yk just making sure"

Vee scrolled on her phone before going to sleep, she wasn't that tired. A little scrolling won't hurt. She was happy that Shelly thought of her as a friend. Meanwhile, Shelly was on facetime with Tisha, they were talking and joking. Tisha mentioned something about Vee's crush on Shelly again, but like any other time, Shelly didn't believe Tisha. Tisha brought up the time she overheard Vee's conversation with Brightney. Shelly just said Tisha is making up stories.

It was getting late, and Shelly said she was going to go to sleep now. They said goodbye to each other, and Shelly went to sleep.

Shelly had a dream where what Tisha said was true. There's no way it was true in real life, right? In the dream, Shelly and Vee were on a beach. Vee said she loved Shelly, and before something could happen, Shelly woke up with a disturbed face. WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT DREAM?! Shelly grabbed her phone and texted Tisha 'CURSE YOU, YOU'RE A WITCH!!'. It was 4AM, so Shelly decided not to go back to sleep. That was one hell of a nightmare. Shelly hoped that what Tisha said wasn't true.

Chapter 8: a dream

Notes:

Shelly is still terrified because of that dream and will forever think Tisha is a witch. This chapter is just the day after that dream. (i had to download grammarly back the second i started writing because i realized there was no little turquiosie circle in the corner of my text telling me what i wrote wrong)

Shelly was sitting on her bed, thinking about her life and the ways she went. All because of a dream! Dream? More like a nightmare! She decided to finally get out of bed and go eat something, a normal cereal! Something normal, please, can something normal happen in her life for once!

Shelly ate her cereal, trying to keep calm. She got a text! From Tisha, oh, Tisha woke up? 'man, what happened in those few hours after that facetime lol' Shelly just texted back 'you exactly know what happened.' and put her phone away and finished her cereal.

She went back to her room, slowly walking. In her room, she just laid in bed and put her phone on the bedside table next to her bed. She went to sleep for a little while, just to get some more sleep than 4 hours.

Meanwhile Vee, she was on call with Astro. Vee asked him if he could ask Shelly about her. Astro was confused about why he should do that. She explained that even tho Shelly confirmed that she thinks of Vee as a friend, she's still not sure. Astro agreed to help, since he was quite curious what could happen. After a few hours, Astro remembered about the deal he had made with Vee and went to call Shelly.

Shelly woke up to Astro calling her, will anyone let her sleeeppp??? She grabbed the phone and answered the call.

-"Shelly!"
Astro said through the phone.

-"What is it, Astro? I was sleeping and you woke me up..."
-"Ah, sorry... This will be quick..."
-"If this is about cooking again, I recommend calling sprout..."
-"It's not about baking, I have a private question."
-"Okay, ask away!"
-"What do you think about Vee, truthfully?"
-"Ah... She's a friend, of course. One of the group. I know you, Dandy, and Sprout are already friends with her and enjoy her company. But uh... Please don't tell this to anyone else. She was actually the one I hated... I promised Tisha to be nicer, and I'm not even sure if Tisha knows I agreed to that promise. She thinks we're friends, but I don't want to be mean. I don't want to ruin anyone's time or mood, so... I think I said too much... I'm tired, my brain is saying too much. Please forget what I said, don't tell anyone else. If somebody else wanted to know, just tell them I think of Vee as a friend."
Shelly said monotonously. After all that talking, she hung up, not letting Astro say anything back to that.

Shelly put her phone back on the bedside table as she went back to sleep.

Astro just said back to Vee whatever Shelly said to say. 'She thinks of you as a friend, don't worry Vee. I didn't say earlier because she didn't pick up the phone' he texted, and Vee was happy to see that message.

Shelly woke up at night from her sleep around 11PM. She woke up to a mountain of notifications, but she chose to ignore them. She was too tired. She just thought about stuff, saying them all in her own head.

She's too mean, maybe Tisha is right. She should tell the truth to Vee. It would be better for her to know. But sometimes it's better to lie to some people, right? She said too much to Astro. What if he told everyone? Her life is ruined! Astro would never do that. Shelly curled into a ball on her bed, thinking about everything she had done. She should try to get along with Vee better.

At least just try.

Chapter 9: school day

yeaaahhh we're back in school..... Party chapter next because i'm exicted to write it.

It was Monday, school again. Shelly came to school, and walked up to the group. She was the last one to come to school. Sprout was talking about the school party once more, he mentioned it was going to happen the following week. They all agreed to come together, since none of them had anything to do. The school bell soon rang and lessons started.

Shelly observed the class from her seat. Some are talking, while others are completely ignoring the teacher. Astro and Dandy are too close, as always, half the school suspected they're gay for each other. But no way two of the most popular guys at school are gay for each other, right? That would be craaazy! She looked away. Soon enough, the bell rang again. Everyone in that classroom ran out of there, not surprising.

Shelly was walking, and Tisha approached her. They talked, and out of the blue, Tisha said.

-"I always wondered how many gay people are in this school."
She said.

-"I don't know, all I know is that I'm not a part of them."
Shelly answered.

-"What?"
-"I'm not gay. I think..."
-"You never know until you try it."
-"I was always straight. When I was young, somebody told me being gay was wrong."
-"That would explain how you act sometimes."
-"Huh."
-"Whaaat, I said nothing..."
The conversation continued after that, but the topic was different.

Shelly mentioned her agreement to the promise, but Tisha at first didn't know what promise Shelly was talking about. When she explained, Tisha was happy to hear that. She went to her class, and Shelly went to the group again.

Vee was talking with the three, she noticed Shelly just standing there, not joining the conversation. She asked if Shelly is doing okay. Shelly just said she's tired and didn't get enough sleep. Soon enough, it was eating time. They sat in the cafeteria, getting their food. This time, Vee sat in front of Shelly. Shelly didn't notice at first, till Vee asked Shelly something. Shelly answered, of course. She was slowly warming up to Vee, so she chose to ignore it.

When Shelly finished her food, she put the tray away and walked out of the cafeteria. Vee right after her, Vee caught up to Shelly and began to talk with her. They walked up to their final class and waited for the rest to finish their food and come here.

After the final lesson, they got out of school, and Tisha walked up to them, mostly to Shelly. To ask if they're going home together as always. Shelly, of course, said yes. They walked out of the school together, as they always did.

Vee mentioned to Astro how Shelly and she are getting along better and that she believes what Astro said was true. Astro remembered what Shelly told him yesterday and just nodded to whatever Vee was saying. He just added, 'It's good you're friends now.' and let Vee continue speaking.

Astro was soon grabbed by Dandy and told to hurry up and just go. Vee went outside not long after them.

On the way back home, Vee saw Shelly and Tisha again. She remembered where Shelly lived and that it wasn't that far away from her house. That's good to know. For what might happen in the future, you never know. So it's better to remember.

Vee got a text from Astro, but before she could see it, he deleted his message. Great... What if it were something useful? She'll never know now! She got home and went to her room. Grabbing her phone and scrolling on the internet

Later in the day, Shelly was doing her homework, which she had forgotten to do earlier. She decided not to finish it and leave it be. It's not like the teacher actually checks the homework. She decided to go to sleep, and somehow she fell asleep at a normal hour.

idk why i feel like this is really rushed, and i mean i wrote it barely awake and just let grammarly correct my spelling mistakes. does this feel rushed? DOES IT? DOES IT FEEL RUSHED? DOES IT? ANWSER ME READER. DOES IT?!?!?!? anyways my leg has been hurting lately, i think the curse is slowly going after me. do not worry i shall continue writing.

Chapter 10: party

A week passed by, the school party was today. It was around an hour after their lessons ended. The group was in the school hall, and they all agreed to go. Dandy said they will meet each other in front of school before anyone walks inside, they agreed on that. Later during the day, Tisha and Shelly met in the school hall.

-"Hey Shelly!"
Tisha said first

-"Hey, nice seeing you."
Shelly replied

-"I've seen you and Vee have been getting along better lately!"
-"You've been observing? Also, why are you so focused on me and Vee?"
-"You two would look good together!"
-"What? I'm not gay! I'm straight!"
-"I didn't mean it like that, good as friends!... Well, are you going to the party?"
-"Ah... me and the group decided to go together..."
-"I decided not to go, I hope you have fun tho!"
-"Aww! You're not going?"
-"I don't like school parties that much, there's always so much dust and dirt everywhere! I prefer clean places, school parties are not it!"
-"Ah... I understand..."
Shelly said, Tisha began to walk away. They waved to each other before going their own ways.

Later during the day, Shelly was getting ready to go. She lived close to the school, so she didn't have to worry about time that much. She decided to wear normal clothes, it's a school party after all! Not like she's going to go full model for this! She knows a person who would, tho...

Shelly was walking out of her house. After some time, she began to hear steps behind her... like somebody was stalking her... She felt an arm on her shoulder. Shelly immediately turned around. She saw Vee... Vee!? They talked as they walked to the school for that party. Vee told Shelly about how they lived quite close to each other. When they got there, they saw the rest already there, they were the last ones to get there.

The group walked inside and was greeted by music and people talking. It's a school party, what would you expect? None of them liked to dance, so they just stood next to a wall and talked. From time to time, getting refills of drinks.

Astro drank all of his, and Shelly decided to go with him to get a refill since both of them were out. When they were getting their drinks, some random person walked up to them. Talking to them while pouring something suspicious into their cups without them noticing. The two of them had no idea alcohol was now in their drinks. Both of them were very shitty against alcohol and had very low alcohol tolerance. Which did not help them currently.

Since the refill area was quite far away from where the group was standing, they took a few sips while walking there. Soon enough, that alcohol kicked in. They were acting way differently than normal. And the group realised fast.

-"Did you two have alcohol?"
Dandy asked.

-"I don't know.. Some random person was talking to us.. Maybe they poured something into our drinks."
Astro mumbled.

-"And you didn't notice?"
Vee replied right after

-"The subject they were talking about was interesting..."
The moon guy muttered back.

The three that were still sober jumped into action. If a teacher sees them, the five of them are dead!

-"God, what were you two thinking! We need to get you out of here!"
Dandy was irritated.

-"Do you have some of that alcohol left? I could really use some right now-"
Sprout asked, but was soon interrupted by Vee

-'Sprout! Focus! We need to get them out of here without anyone noticing!"
Vee said in an annoyed tone.

They agreed on telling the teachers that "they're going home early because they got bored" or something like that. They got out of the school without anyone noticing! Great!. Dandy agreed to take Astro home since they live together, nothing more. It was stuck between Vee and Sprout, who was going to take Shelly home. Sprout lived quite far from Shelly, so it would be a trouble to get back later, Vee agreed to take Shelly back home. She didn't mind at all!

On the walk back to Shelly's home, Vee had her hand on Shelly's shoulder to make sure she was not behind or anything. When they got there, Shelly stumbled to her room. Vee went behind her, it was the first time she saw Shelly's room... There's a lot of dinosaur stuff in here... Shelly laid on her own bed, Vee sat right next to her. Shelly mentioned her head hurting, and they talked for some time. Shelly was way nicer to Vee while drunk than normally, it's like she didn't care about all the reasons she hated Vee at that moment.

Before leaving, Vee decided to make Shelly some tea. She went downstairs to the kitchen to make it. After she was done with it, she went back upstairs and placed it on the bedside table and left the house.

Chapter 11: rememember and regret

i'm so tired, i'm going to get ice cream right after writing this chapter

It was morning, Shelly woke up, she had a hangover. She sat up on her bed and looked around her room. Shelly grabbed the tea that was on her bedside table and started to slowly drink it. She tried to remember what happened yesterday. Shelly didn't remember anything except going to get a refill with Astro and returning to the group. After that, she had trouble remembering! Shelly decided to go to her kitchen and make herself something to eat.

She made herself cereal, trying to ignore the massive headache she had. After she finished her food, she slowly went back to her room. She sat back on her bed and grabbed her phone. She saw it was 10AM. Great, she's late to school. Why was the school party even on Thursday?! Well, it wouldn't hurt to miss another day of school... It's not like the teachers actually care about who comes to school and who doesn't.

At school, there were only three of them. Dandy, Sprout and Vee. Shelly stayed at home, just like Astro. They talked, of course, what else were they supposed to do? A few lessons passed, and lunch time came. They spoke with each other, and then Vee asked Dandy.

-"Hey Dandy, is there something between you and Astro?"
She looked Dandy right in the eyes.

-"What? No! We're just best friends..."
Dandy answered, clearly lying.

-"Dude, if you think whatever is going on between you two is just normal friends behaviour. I recommend talking with the school therapist about that."
Sprout added to the conversation.

-"I uhhhh...."
He refused to answer the question.

-"Come on, just say it!"
Vee said

-"Yeah, we're together. But me and Astro agreed on not telling any of you, who knew how you would react."
He said, after that, they didn't talk about this again.

Soon, lessons ended and Vee went to talk with Brightney. They talked for a few minutes, Brightney went to her book club, and they said goodbye to each other. Vee walked out of school.

On the way back home, she walked past Shelly's house, she remembered what had happened yesterday. She just continued to walk. Shelly probably doesn't remember anything! Right...? She should've left a note of some sort, maybe telling Shelly that she brought her home or something? Now it's too late! Vee just decided to continue walking. She shouldn't be overthinking this.

Meanwhile Shelly... She was in her room, remembering everything that happened last night. Oh, she regretted drinking that alcohol. This is hell. Why did she even drink it?! Right, because she had no idea someone put alcohol in it!

Why did Vee even bring her home? How did Vee know where she lived? So many questions and not enough answers! She then got a text from Tisha. 'Hey, why didn't you come to school today?'. Shelly just wrote back A lot of stuff happened at that school party. Long story, really.' She put her phone on the bedside table and laid back on her bed. She went back to sleep.

Shelly had another dream involving Vee, it's like Tisha is actually a witch.

In the dream, she was sitting in a park underneath a tree with Vee. Shelly turned to Vee, and Vee confessed her love for Shelly. Of course, Shelly woke up before she could answer. Just as last time. It seems like whatever god is up there, they're playing with her mind and everything else. She's not gay, right? She was always straight! Why is god playing tricks on her? She was told being gay was weird and non-human!

No one would lie to her right?... right?

i forgot what the days of the week are so at some point i sang that song "every single day of the week" for like 30 minutes while writing this. Anyways, this one was a little shorter i think. I was tired af while writing this, i really have to sleep.

Chapter 12: meeting again

Hey uh i know this chapter is posted quite late, i was supposed to write it earlier but i didn't have time, school started for me a few days ago so chapters will go out not as often now, hope you guys understand!!^^ Also i will be posting shorter chapters since i am quite tired lately. maybe its just the curse slowly catching up to me! haha!

A few days passed, Shelly and Astro came to school. The three were happy to have them back in school. Why wouldn't they? They're all friends, of course! Nothing more, right?

During the lessons, Shelly was doodling in her notebook, asking herself in her mind who she was. Who is she? Or a better question, what is she? She shouldn't be questioning herself, she's straight! Right? If she were born a boy, it would've been easier. Why wasn't she born a boy? But no, she's straight. She was always straight! HAHAhAhaha...

The school bell rang, prompting her to pack her belongings into her bag and walk out of the classroom. When she was walking through the hall, Tisha stopped her and pulled her away. Shelly was confused. What was going on?

In the quieter space, Tisha asked.

-"Hey Shelly, I just wanted to ask, in a more private place since you know some might overhear, but uhh... Are you, perhaps... You know..."
She was quickly interrupted.

-"No, I'm not a homosexual if that's what you're implying, I'm also doing well with my mental health! No need to worry."
Shelly said, informing Tisha.

Shelly walked away. But Tisha already knows what's happening. She just wants to make sure.

When Shelly got back to the group, Vee went to Shelly, happily talking with her the second she came to school. They talked, and Shelly felt a bit happier around Vee. She couldn't describe this feeling. But it's all because she was getting along with Vee, that's all it is! Right?

Yet Vee... She has felt that feeling since the first time she saw Shelly. She never had trouble identifying her feelings. Yet she knows there are small chances of Shelly loving her back. She was looking for love all the time, and yet the first time she found the perfect person. She seems not to love her back. Did she do something wrong? Is she just not deserving of love? Maybe Brightney was right from the start. Shelly will never love her back.

And she just has to live with it... Live with the thought of Shelly never loving her back, all her perfect plans failing. Why? It feels like god hates her.

After the lessons ended. Shelly was walking out of the school, Tisha ran up to her. The two began to talk as they went home. Shelly was stuck in her own mind, thinking about everything and nothing. Why does saying she's straight not sound true anymore? This is weird... Why is this feeling so weird?

When Shelly got home, she immediately sat at her desk and turned on her laptop. She opened the browser and typed in "am I gay test". Hoping she the result she gets will be false. And let's be real, anyone who takes a gay test is gay. But maybe this time it'll be different?

No, it was in fact not different this time. She got an answer saying, 'You are a lesbian!'. Wow, that's really helpful, mhmm... Shelly turned off her laptop after that and went to sleep. She didn't have a dream this time, which was great in her opinion. After Shelly woke up, she grabbed her phone from the bedside table and decided to scroll on social media. TikTok, Instagram... stuff where she can check what other people are doing with their lives...

That's not weird, right?

Chapter 13: acceptance

hey readers, the curse in fact, did get me. I always thought the curse wasn't real, but i was wrong. It's not as bad as i thought it would be but yeah. I relapsed and went back to self harming, idk if it counts as the curse getting me but at least its more funny to say than "I'm in a bad mental state again" haha! Don't worry tho! Chapters will still come! The story will finish with a happy ending unless i kms before finishing it ^^

It was a free day once more, Saturday! Who didn't love Saturdays? Shelly was sitting in her room, thinking about what she felt and if it was valid. It's not wrong, right? It wouldn't hurt to accept it. To at the very least try and be real with herself. What she was feeling wasn't wrong. That's just what she was taught, but others are not always right. Sometimes people say things that are not true at all. So why should she listen to lies? Why should she base her life around lies?

She should just accept what she is. Or, who she is. Yet suddenly her thinking was cut off by a knock on the door. Shelly went to open the door, slowly walking towards it. She opened the door to see Tisha. The tissue box girl said that she was bored alone and decided to visit her best friend. Shelly was happy, she needed a break from all this stuff. Shelly let Tisha in. They had fun, they always had fun together.

Yet soon enough, those thoughts came back to Shelly. Would Tisha accept her if she were gay? Oh yeah, Tisha would. No need to worry about her. Yet she still asked.

-"Heeey TIshaa..."
Shelly sounded nervous, Tisha was confused.

-"Yeah? What is it?"
She answered.

-"How would you react, if I, perhaps.. Was gay?"
-"Shelly, I'm bisexual myself, I don't care what sexuality you are... But my manifestations would turn out to be true if you were!"
-"Oh.. Manifestations?"
-"Don't worry about those..."
-"right..."

They continued to talk with each other, have fun. You know classic friends stuff.. Yet Tisha had to leave after a few hours of being there, they said goodbye to each other. After Tisha left, Shelly just went back to her room. She laid on her bed and scrolled on TikTok. She found Vee's account. She wasn't sure if it was Vee's account, but yeah, one post really gave it off... It's like she's told to interact with Vee, she followed her account and continued to scroll.

Meanwhile Vee.. She was Facetiming with Brightney. Vee was talking about random stuff while Brightney read a book and, from time to time, answered. When Vee got the notification that someone new had followed her, she immediately went to check who. She thought it was probably Shelly's account and followed her back. Vee, of course, told Brightney, she just answered 'Oh wow, first time I don't have a reason to say it was accidental.'

Vee went to text Shelly.

Vee went back to talking with Brightney right away. After a few minutes, they ended their call. Vee began to think. Does she even have a chance with Shelly? It's better not to think about it! Why would you fill your mind with bad scenarios? It's better to just not think about the bad chances! Like gamblers do! They also ignore the bad chances!

But it feels like their relationship is going on a good path! Why does Vee feel like something bad will happen? Nothing bad will happen! Yeah. Nothing bad will happen at all! At all... Right? Right.

ALSO I GOT MY PERIOD YESTERDAY AND IT SUCKS I FUCKING HATE PERIODS. oh and I'm grinding in crk a lot lately AND I FINALLY GOT DARK CACAO'S LEGENDARY COSTUME!!! might write a fanfic for my fav ship from crk after this one. MIGHT. Oh and also I had no idea how to write the friend spending time since i never spend time together with my friends.
