Bobby bakes cupcakes for Daniel as an apology present. It is not enough but it is a start.
Bobby always used to feel bad when they would go overboard with Daniel, now he wonders why he didn't ever put a stop to it all.
Bobby apologises to Mr. Miyagi and Mrs. Larusso as well. Mr. Miyagi gives him some tasks to do around the house. Bobby helps Mrs. Larusso carry groceries, and runs errands for her.
He helps Daniel out in school with carrying his stuff. Daniel is obviously pretty annoyed at first. Break a leg first and try to make amends later, he thinks. But Bobby gets this sad puppy dog look in his eyes whenever Daniel dismisses him or when he notices Daniel hurts. and Daniel is hurting ALL THE TIME in those first few weeks post tournament.
As Bobby spends time with Daniel, he realises Daniel is pretty fun. He sits with Daniel and the girls. Johnny starts joining them and Daniel and Johnny enter into a truce, become amicable.
Daniel never realises but Bobby is pretty ripped. He can easily lift heavy weights. It's hard to tell just by looking because he wears long sleeved shirts.
One day he arrives in a sleeveless shirt to help Mr. Miyagi. Daniel suddenly feels very hot, his cheeks are burning. Those biceps should be illegal, he thinks, especially when Bobby is helping Mr. Miyagi carry wood, cutting and sanding and Daniel has lost track to be honest.
When Bobby calls out to Daniel, Daniel very subtly books it out of there.
After that it's all downhill for Daniel -whenever Bobby carries his books for him, or he helps him with his crutches, or that one time he helps him up the stairs when Daniel is in particularly high pain.
"I'm fine Bobby!"
"Look man, you're clearly not. Now stop pretending to be so tough and let me help you."
"Ugh!"
Bobby gives a red faced Daniel a piggy back ride up the stairs to his apartment. What Daniel doesn't know is that Bobby is also red faced. as Bobby doesn't take into consideration that helping Daniel means holding his half bare thighs while his lithe frame holds onto him, Daniel's arms around him and his lips near his ear.
When Bobby gently sets Daniel down, both of them look anywhere but the other's face and miss the strawberry blushes.
As the days pass, Daniel's suffering continues.
One day Johnny even gives him his version of a protective friend talk, as much as he can manage without hurting Daniel.
"I know how you look at him"
"What? Johnny I don't know what you're saying- "
"If you break his heart, I'll forget about the all valley and our truce."
Johnny looks one last time at Daniel, gives him a shoulder pat and walks off.
Daniel is stunned ( what ), offended ( I would break His heart!?! ), and left gaping there like a goose. His hands go through a series of very Italian hand movements, while Johnny walks away.
Daniel does realise his feelings very soon, when those gentle beautiful eyes don't stop plaguing his dreams, those arms always ready to catch him, those lips forming the most comforting words.
'It's ironic, the guy who caused me so much pain, is the same guy who makes my heart flutter and makes me feel safe.' , Daniel thinks.
One evening, as Bobby sits in front of the TV at Daniel's apartment, he feels nervous.
Daniel has been avoiding him the past few days, until today, when he had invited him to watch a movie together.
"I got a DVD of that movie I told you about the other day. You should come watch, it'll be fun" Daniel had said with a cautious smile.
So here Bobby sits.
Daniel has somehow managed to move closer to him throughout, probably without even realizing, Bobby thinks. Daniel has on a constant commentary about the movie, eating popcorn, his hands waving around in that fashion that is so Daniel.
At one point he quiets down. Bobby turns to see if Daniel is alright, and suddenly he has arms full of a beautiful boy, his lips being crushed by his soft lips.
Bobby is surprised at first. When he realizes what is happening, he holds Daniel's face and presses back.
Daniel is all bravado at first, nervous to hell about what Bobby's reaction would be.
He has had a feeling, but he had been just as afraid of a punch. or maybe not, Bobby has grown a lot in the past few months. He is gentle, caring, and Daniel isn't afraid.
It is a huge relief though when Bobby begins kissing Daniel back.
Daniel eases into the feeling, kissing Bobby slowly. He holds on to Bobby, moving his hands over Bobby's heavenly arms.
When neither have enough air to continue, they both pull back.
Bobby is so happy to see Daniel grinning, cheeks flushed.
Daniel loves the adoration in Bobby's eyes and his beautiful smile.
"Um, Johnny warned me against breaking your heart. Sorry, thats why i avoided you the past few days. I needed to think about some stuff." Daniel says, looking sheepish.
"Ugh Johnny! Well, Ali warned me about the same" Bobby replies.
They move forward, foreheads touching, the air filling with their happy giggles, bodies alight with warmth from their fond caresses.
"God Bobby, those biceps have been driving me crazy."
Bobby giggles.
"Oh so did you kiss me only for my biceps?"
"Oh shut up. But definitely yes. Couldn't be your caring nature, your fun personality or your wit, huh" Daniel teases.
"Oh? Then I also don't like you for your humor, your persistence and never give up attitude." Bobby says, playing along.
"Well then what is it?" Daniel asks, curious to see where this would go.
"Well... it was your legs, definitely." Bobby flirts
"Bobby!" Daniel mock punches Bobby playfully.
Eventually their giggles subside, and the two just sit there, looking into eachother's eyes, holding onto and enjoying eachother's company.
And since one can't really help teenage boy hormones, the night leads to more kissing and other fun activities on the couch that don't really allow for watching the movie.
