Chapter 2: CHAPTER ONEE!!

Sorry that this is a bit short, I was struggling with how to start this out, the rest of the chapters should be longer!

The walk returning to his dorm was uneventful, Ness right by his side. Blabbering on and on about something he couldn't be more bothered to care about. Why does a high school have dorms anyways? His train of thought got pulled away by s repeated buzzing in his pocket. His phone.
He read the groupchat name and sighed, the pathetic group of strikers still had it named as “Blue balled”.. What a childish name. Fitting for how pathetic all of those students were.

Kaiser scoffed, done with their stupidity he decided to voice his opinion on the matter. He glanced towards Ness at his side, seeing his confused face he smirked and typed his message.

He quickly shut off his phone before the rest of the message loaded and he was subjected to reading another one of the purple haired man's rants.That was definitely.. Something. Those two had such a complicated but underwhelming relationship. He also thought of how easily Yoichi was angered, what an immature man. However, he had no care for Yoichi’s opinions. The unthreatening blueberry was below him in every way, why should his opinions matter? Once he stopped in front of his dorm’s door, he glanced towards Ness, waiting for him to open the door.
“Hurry up, Alexis, I don’t have all day.”
“AH! Yes Micha.. One moment, I’m finding my keys.”
The only reply Ness was given was a scoff. He quickly found the keys and opened the door to the shared dorm. Kaiser had been rooming with Kiyora, a quiet man. Surprisingly, there were no issues between the two, as Kiyora kept almost entirely to himself. Today, Kiyora was out of his room and on the couch, watching a movie with what was his name.. Ah, Kurona seated next to him. Even though Kiyora rarely had any friends of his over, today was a rare instance in which he invited another person over.
While Kiyora spared him a glance, he had no dramatic nothing at Kaiser's arrival, not that one was expected. Without wasting a second, Kaiser turns to walk into his room. Quickly settling into his routine, he looks for his robe. Finding it in its usual spot he waltz off to his bathroom to shower and change.

When he returned from the shower, his eyes landed on Ness. Although the man was in his expected seat, he was oddly engrossed on his phone. He saw his phone buzzing and the screen lighting, the notifications from the group chat highlighted on his screen. Was Ness.. Laughing? There was no way he found joy in any of these lowlifes, right? No, Ness was loyal to Kaiser. He was and he will be, nothing would mess with that.
“Ness, what are you looking at?” Kaiser questioned, his voice flooded with.. Jealousy? Anger? Disappointment? Whatever it was hinting at, Ness couldn’t figure out. He quickly stumbled into an apology.
“A-ah of course not, Kaiser. I’m simply laughing at how pitiful they are!” He had a strained grin on his face. His hands shook slightly around his grip on his phone.
There was a brief pause, both just looking at each other. It was painfully obvious that Kaiser didn’t quite believe his words. Once it was prolonged enough, Kaiser broke the silence, he sighed loudly before mumbling “If you're just going to lie to me, get out Ness.” His words were sharp, stinging, and shattering to hear. Ness looked broken and ashamed as he stood, looking like a scolded dog he left quietly, sniffling as he exited the room.
Kaiser turned towards his desk, where Ness was previously sitting, he dimmed the lights and set himself in the seat gently and looked up at the ceiling and began thinking over the day's previous events. He thought over situations from the mornings soccer practice and how to improve, how he had secretly poured his drink onto Yoichi’s empty seat at lunch while nobody was looking. He was awfully clever for that one.
A different thought crossed Kaiser's mind, ’what if Ness didn’t return to him?’ What a stupid thought, Kaiser knew Ness wouldn’t leave him, so why was he still worried? He stood from his chair and stepped away from his desk. He needed an answer, a good answer, he needed it now.
He had a way to get his answer, and nobody was there to argue with him as he slowly reached for his neck.

Chapter 3: CHAPTER TWOOO!!! ☆⌒(ゝ。∂)
Summary:
Kaiser was sick for a day and now Ness is bonding with... Other people!?

Hey everyone! Tried to give you all a semi-long chapter since it took me a bit AND the first chapter was pretty short.. (¬_¬")

The door clicks as it unlocks and gently swings open before Ness steps inside. Kaiser.. Wasn’t there? His eyes scan the room in search, Ness doesn’t see Kaiser at his desk and the bathroom light is off. Could he have left already or- Oh.
Instead of being up for the day, Kaiser was curled up in his bed. ‘Why isn’t he up already, is he even awake?’ Ness thinks to himself while he decides to check up on him. He approaches only to hear sniffling coming from the blanketed man. He freezes a few steps from the bed as he mutters, barely audible enough for either of them to hear, “..Micha? Are you alright?”
A groan coming from the bed below him is followed by, “ Sehe ich okay aus, Alexis? (Do I look okay, Alexis?)” He slowly unwraps himself from the blanket and sits up. He shivers roughly before looking up at Ness. “I’m sick, tell coach Ego that I won’t be at practice.”
“Oh! Let me take your temperature for you Micha!” Ness stumbles, voice full of worry as he rushes to the bathroom to grab a thermometer, standard cough syrup, and a handful of cough drops for throughout the day (when he wouldn’t be there). Those items, placed down on the bedside table next to Kaiser, were quickly followed by a glass of water and a hot towel placed on a tray.
Kaiser hands the thermometer to Ness, his temperature running a hot 37.77°C (Roughly 100°F). Ness runs back to the bathroom and sets the thermometer on the counter, by the time he returns Kaiser is asleep, bundled in his covers with his standing fan still blowing on him. Ness glances at the clock and realizes that he should be on his way to his classes by now.

(A/N: I’m not gonna specify what each class exactly is because I don’t want to come up with a schedule for him ꒰ “. . ꒱ also most of his classes are free seating ig?)
Ness stepped into his first class, he recognized multiple of the faces, though he didn’t interact with any of them often. Following his normal routine of saying hello to his teacher and waving to a few who waved to him before sliding into his normal seat. From his spot in the back right corner he could see everyone following similar routines, just with the added mix of talking to their friends.
Unexpectedly, Shidou slides into the seat in front of Ness. He turns to face Ness, leaning forward against the back of the chair. Ness observes Sae take the seat next to Shidou, followed by AIku and Sendou sitting in the other close seats. Ness was inarguably boxed in, people sitting on all sides of him. “Hey there chestnut! All alone today?” Shidou chirps, tilting his head in his best attempt to seem non-threatening. Despite Shidou's efforts, Ness’s face shifts to one mixed with fear, confusion, and curiosity.
“Kaiser was ill” He explains, masking his worry with a small smile. After a small pause he questions, “Did any of you need something?” He tries his best to seem genuine and not dismissing. Luckily for him, his intent was able to translate to the others. Before getting a response he begins wondering what they may need. It must not be something too important since they haven’t interacted with him much. He normally stays by Kaiser's side and only talks to him throughout the day. Otherwise, wouldn’t they only talk to him if they needed something? He isn’t the most welcoming to those around and most of that hes said has been rude, additionally-
His thinking is interrupted by Aiku shrugging and answering with, “Shiodu said he wanted to talk to you. It didn't seem like a bad idea since we don't know anything about you.”
Just as Ness turns to look at Aiku, Shidou laughs loudly, regrabbing his attention and exclaiming “Yeah Nessie, we never get to talk to you! Always getting held at Kaiser’s side, hes so selfish don’t you think?”
“Is that a compliment? How does that make Kaiser selfish?” More confused than before, Ness looks Shidou dead in the eyes. Unfortunately for him, neither of his questions get answered by the tanned man as Mr.Snuffy clears his throat, starting class. Did he really have to pick now? Well, that was a stupid question from Ness. He supposes he should pay attention
After that class, Ness breezes through the next few classes, still being followed by Shidou and the rest of his group. He was now in Noa’s class, surrounded by the same people who had been with him throughout the day. For some reason they were.. Bonding? Ness wasn’t sure how to describe it but he had been laughing at some of Shidou's antics, listening to Sae’s soccer rants, and making a few comments of his own (which were well received).
He was now in Noa’s class, the last before lunch. After a test announcement, they were set to study the entire period. It was essentially free time to those who didn’t care.
Midway through the class, Shidou and Aiku began talking to him again. First, it was about his notes. Mostly just glazing his neatness and handwriting, asking to look at them at some point, getting a copy, or even being taught how to take notes like that. Then, it turned to a different topic, lunch.
“Yknow, since your ‘Owner’ isn’t here, you could sit with us today!” Shidou offers, less of a question and more a command. Ness simply nods as Shidou continues “Lets see I sit with.. My boy Charles, Bachira, by association Isagi, Kurona (By association with Isagi) and RinRin, and my darling Sae obviously.. Sometimes Karasu brings Otoya and Yukimiya to join us, probably not today though!” the nickname earns a side glance from Sae, he doesn’t argue with it though.
Ness begins to question three things; What did Shidou and Sae have going on, how had he not noticed before, and would he be able to get along with everyone there? He is given no time to worry as the bell rings and class comes to an end. Were they really talking for an entire 20 minutes? Either way, they were heading to the cafeteria now.

Ness watched the others sitting down, more specifically Isagi and then Bachira. Bachira was rather pretty.. Wait, what was Ness even thinking? That was odd. But for some reason, he was getting along with them really well. He does feel guarded still though. ‘Remember Ness, once Kaiser is back, you won't talk to them. Once Kaiser is back it will just be you and him.’
Seemingly reading his mind, Bachira comments, “Hey Nessie, why don’t you hang out with us more? You're so fun!” He practically jumps over the table in excitement.
“Just don’t bring Kaiser..” Isagi mutters, a grim look on his face.
“Yeah! He kills the mood, mood.” Kurona replies, scooting somehow closer to Isagi.
Did those two have something going on too? How had he not noticed? Ness was upset at just how many details he had missed of people around him. Was Kaiser really holding him that close?
“He doesn’t own you, you know?” Sae off-handedly points out.
Sae was technically right, Kaiser didn’t own him. He owes Kaiser for all he's done though.. Right? Kaiser has done a lot for him. He was the reason people liked Ness right? Ness isn’t the most likable person, Kaiser has told him that. Kaiser is the only one who understands and- Wait, but- they don’t like Kaiser. Do they really just like him for who he is? He looks around the table, he really hasn’t been paying attention to everyone, at all .
(A/N: this next little section is essentially just Ness’s thoughts on everyone, wouldn’t recommend skipping thoughs)
His gaze starts at Kurona, he hasn’t talked to Kurona much ever. He only knows about Kurona from his connection with Isagi. However, The guy has been pretty kind to Alexis over time, even without them being friends or anything.
It moves to Isagi next, he would say he hates Isagi but, Isagi hasn't actually done anything to him. When thinking it over, he was mad that Kaiser was focusing on Isagi, which wasn't the guy's fault. He had actually given Ness good criticism in soccer and been generally friendly to him.
Sitting to Isagi’s side was Rin. Not much of a fan but, he was an amazing soccer player. RIn was just too grumpy for Ness. He wasn’t that biased though, he was rude to everyone, well , everyone except- nevermind.
Next was someone he had been oddly focused on today, Bachira . Quite a few interactions between him and Bachira, considering his proximity with Isagi, who Kaiser insisted on talking to more. He was loud but cheerful, kind to everyone and very protective of Isagi, his best friend. He was so carefree and oblivious, it was oddly endearing. He also seems like he would agree with Ness’s magic. Considering his talks about his monster, which he described in vivid detail and was very sure it existed.. Its name was Zico, right? But hey, Ness wasn’t judging, it sounds similar to his magic. He was also a great listener, even if he didn’t always read the room. Aside from his personality, Bachira had a nice voice, it was very smooth, and expressive.. Additionally, he was really attractive, beautiful even.
Ness began to question himself. Did he really think that about Bachira? Was he gay? Well, he moves on from that before his face gets red.
Shidou and Sae, he thinks of them as a pair. They were always together whenever going places and complimented each other really well. Both were undeniably attractive and had intriguing personalities. Shidou had been oddly kind to him and Sae hadn’t been rude, which was honestly a good sign for anyone interacting with Sae
Charles was seated next to Shidou, engrossed in conversation with him on some random topic. Charles was a lively boy, younger than the rest of the group as a first year, he was still just as interactive with everyone. He was sort of like a mini Shidou.. Those two were sort of like brothers if you think about it.
Even though they aren't here, he thought of Aiku and Sendou. Those two were really kind to him also, even with Aiku's unending flirting with Sendou.. He didn't mind either of them that much.
Kaiser was so different from all of these people, he wasn’t as.. Fun? Ness really enjoyed being around all of these guys, maybe even more so than being around Kaiser. Thinking about it, what if Kaiser found out he liked being around them? What if Kaiser left? If Kaiser left, would he have these guys? Maybe he did have other people to rely on.
Signaling the end of lunch, the bell rang. The rest of his classes would most likely be similar to his earlier ones. Shidou and AIku on his sides like bodyguards with an embarrassed Sendou and indifferent Sae trailing behind. How would soccer practice go without Kaiser there?

Classes were finally over and the group had made it down to the field, quickly entering the locker rooms to escape the frigid air. After everyone had got ready to leave, they begrudgingly went back into the cold.
Ego was standing to the side with Ms.Anri next to him. Ness quickly alerts them of Kaiser's absence before heading back to the team, deciding to try and stand with the group he had eaten lunch with earlier today.
Bachira notices his arrival immediately and breaks into a wide grin “Hey Nessie!” His greeting had made a few heads turn, others turning to greet him too. He notices Reo and Chigiri both notice that Kaiser isn't there before offering smiles and waves to Ness. Ness really hadn’t noticed everyone's kindness before, they were all so kind. Especially Bachira.
Ego blew the whistle to gather everyone around. Once everyone was sat he looked to the group and went over today's drills. They were gonna work over a few new formations, the ones Ness were working on involved Isagi as the center.

(A/N: I would have wrote some things about their practice but its 3:30 AM rn and I have to be up by 8 AM sorry)
It was their post-practice cooldown and most people were taking hot showers, trying to get warm after the 2 hours in close to freezing. It was almost winter break afterall, it's tuesday and the break starts after friday. He was changing while joking with a few others, he was having a lot of fun. He wished that Kaiser liked these people too..
After his shower and change, Ness walked as quickly as he could, practically sprinting back to the dorm building. He had been one of the first few done and the others said he didn’t need to wait for them.
Before going to his room, he makes a stop by Kaiser's. Unlocking the room and walking past the living room, he steps into Kaiser’s bedroom. “Michael?” Ness calls into the room, he sees the bathroom light on and hears the shower on and decides to just tidy Kaisers room and leave a note.

Ness leaves the note on Kaiser’s bed before slowly closing the door and leaving the dorm. He runs into Kiyora on the way out, nodding to him and sliding past. He can’t wait to be back in his bed.
