The Nobody Visits

Summary:

Last day on the random summer camp, and a couple of problems popped up. Souda Kazuichi is surprised to meet his soul brother in the early morning, sticking with Hinata Hajime from sunrise to sunset.

Notes:

Hajime and Izuru are long distant cousins yayyy

Hope Cultivation Project isn't real, but discrimination is like the norm in the reserve course department. Junko's words taste as sweet as honey for many of them.

Hajime can only delay the inevitable, being sponsored to watch over the anti-social genius who will take over some important family mission.

Chapter 1: Sunrise

Notes:

Hajime has two friends that like to stick to him:

1. Chiaki who likes to hover close to danger

2. Kazuichi who pretends everything is fine while in a burning house.

"Hey." (A voice called out.) "Souda?"

"Wake up, man." (A sigh.) "You want to see the sunrise, right?"

"Yeah..." Souda Kazuichi mumbled, remembering his group chat with Nanami Chiaki and Hinata Hajime about the scenery. Pushing himself to sit, the Ultimate Mechanic debated whether to wear contact lenses or glasses today- Wait a minute. Kazuichi asked, grabbing his phone to check something. "Hajime? Dude. How the hell are you here?"

"I slept on the plane and Nanami kept her GPS on," The reserve course student explained, but Kazuichi explicitly remembered they were in the US. Since Yukizome-sensei learned that some of them had never experienced a camping trip, Class 77-B was enrolled in a summer camp program before the summer began. It's either that Hajime booked a flight in advance or that Hajime has a friend with a private jet. "The first option with a bit of string pulling."

'Make sense... Huh. Should I be afraid or touched that my soul brother went out of his way to spend time with us?' Kazuichi thought to himself, confirming today's events suggested by the Ultimate Gamer.

[Groups of four to explore the different parts of the forest one final time]

"What happened to Komaeda?" Kazuichi asked, keeping his phone, and was curious why the name of the Ultimate Lucky student got crossed out. Komaeda Nagito was even excited to hang out with him, Kuzuryu Fuyuhiko, and Kamukura Izuru. It's bad enough that the Ultimate Hope suddenly experienced some side effects from the latest maintenance drug, which prompted Chiaki to jokingly ask Hajime to come over. Now, Nagito couldn't go around on their last day. 'I don't see any good luck happening over here.'

"I'm not sure why you didn't wake up when Komaeda fell headfirst off the top bunker a couple of hours ago, but Komaeda is by the infirmary with Tsumiki checking his condition." Hajime narrated, finding something to do while Kazuichi scooted over to the staircase. "Since I was supposed to substitute for Izuru, Nanami is thinking of asking Kizakura-sensei to tag along if Tsumiki advises them for Nagito to rest in bed."

"Make sense. I don't mind hanging out with Kuzuryu and you, but we could get seriously lost all by ourselves..." Kazuichi climbed down the stairs to snatch his glasses from the table. He'll wear his contact lenses after they come back to the cabin. It's still early in the morning, so he could drag Hajime to come back and prepare for their group expedition after lunch.

"Dude. What the hell are you doing?" Kazuichi paused midway, removing his pants, squinting at his friend. "You don't just comb someone's hair. That's gay."

"His hair looked like a mess. Someone had to comb the abomination," Hajime defended his actions, recently finished tying the ultimate's hair into a loose braid.

"I know, but we don't just touch someone's hair like that. It's an intimate thing. Nanami would be jealous as hell if she saw you do that with someone," Kazuichi shook his head, opening the closet to grab a bunch of clothes.

"Eh? Really? I'll refrain from doing that then," Hajime stood up, still new to the relationship thing. Kazuichi honestly wondered what Chiaki saw in this guy, but he's not complaining. Hajime walked towards the doorway, opening the door. "Ready to go? I'm itching to get out. I think something will happen today."

"Don't say ominous shit, man. Let me grab a jacket first," Kazuichi grabbed the final touch for his attire, following Hajime out of the cabin. While they were walking along the paved path, Kazuichi asked. "Yukizome-sensei plans on bringing us back on a private jet, so Nanami and I can smuggle you with us if you want?"

"I'll take your offer. I'd rather not keep asking for any more favors," Hajime accepted the proposal quite easily, slowing down so they could walk side by side. Kazuichi scanned his friend one final time, looking away and thinking who could have extra clothes for Hajime to use. That reserve course uniform doesn't give a lot of good memories...

Chapter 2: Sunset

Summary:

I don't know if a lot of authors took advantage of Sonia's situation as a plot. I mean, there are rumors of people wanting to assassinate her/depose the monarchy.

The action-themed stories are limitless here... Or angst. Tension. Not so much with comedy.

Notes:

Hajime is almost the same level as the Ultimate Bodyguard, but his mindset is that of an assassin.

How Chiaki tamed this version of Hajime:

Chiaki: I saw you kill someone and I can definitely fix you.

Hajime: Pikachu confused face.

"Hey," Hajime called out, scanning the area one last time before dropping his weapon. "Souda?"

"Wake up, man." Hajime sighed, crouching to help his friend. "The sun will set soon. We need to head back to camp."

"Hajime...?" Kazuichi accepted Hajime's offer, struggling to hold onto the brunette. Hajime allowed Kazuichi to cling onto him like a baby, wishing Fuyuhiko and Kizakura-sensei weren't so fast at running. They would've noticed the mechanic trip over an exposed tree root if they took some time to take a breather.

"I'm here," Hajime wouldn't leave a friend in need, so he stayed back and tried to fish for some information from the group. Based on the emblem on their vests, they're currently targeted by a vigilante group attempting to depose the Novoselic monarchy. Hajime knew he had a gun, but he probably left it in Kazuichi's cabin. 'Wait... Did Izuru grab it while I was combing his hair? That clever bastard.'

"I think I broke my ankle... Don't you dare go without me!" Kazuichi threatened with tears in his eyes, which made the guy even more pitiful. Hajime merely offered a pat on the back, waiting for the mechanic to calm down.

"I won't," Hajime reassured his friend, recalling the groupings. Pekoyama Peko and Owari Akane would surely protect Sonia Nevermind and Nanami Chiaki, but Koizumi Mahiru's group only has Yukizome-sensei as their main attacker. Hajime doesn't know about Nidai Nekomaru and his group, but all of its members have good intuition to fall for any trap. Hajime stood up, telling the fearful mechanic. "Come on. There's no use staying here. Let's limp to camp."

"Yeah..." Kazuichi agreed, begrudgingly letting only one arm wrap around Hajime's shoulder while they trudge along the bloody path.

"Holy shit! Kuzuryu and Kizakura-sensei did a number on them," Kazuichi remarked, taking note of the corpses on the floor. "Are you also hurt? You smell like blood."

"I played dead," Hajime lied, hoping Kazuichi would play along like Chiaki. Actually, Hajime hopes no one responds to murder the same way as Chiaki. The gamer was the only one who actively followed the reserve course department suicides last semester, stumbling across Hajime unaliving a tyrannical teacher... Hajime didn't expect her to hold his bloody hand and proclaim her faith in him.

"But they saw through my ruse," Hajime tossed in some real details, recently beaten up by security the day before. "So they bruised me up and left me alone."

"I guess they're after someone in our class. I hope it's not Sonia-san. Damn it. We gotta go faster!" Kazuichi struggled to run, but Hajime had to hold the guy to prevent him from falling face-first on the ground. The sun is already setting, and they have to pay attention to every irregular noise or movement. "You think we're close to any of the groups?"

"I only know where Nanami is, and she's close to camp," Hajime answered, unsure if he'd mourn if Chiaki dies. Hajime was already friends with Chiaki, so the gamer charmed him quite easily.

'Maybe I would?' Hajime may as well accept the fact that he's learned to love Chiaki. However, another issue would enter the picture if he did. Hajime would have to explain to the gamer his reasons for killing the people in the first place. Would Chiaki treat it like a management game, replacing certain dominos to prevent the start of chaos trembling within the Reserve Course? It's only a matter of time before the true mastermind of that Mutual Killing Game unravels his thin barrier keeping the students from rioting.

'I don't want to go back in that hellhole... It's so boring there...' Hajime wants to give up and let the students do whatever they please, but his grandfather requested him to ensure his cousin graduates from Hope's Peak Academy no matter what. 'Do it for the money. One more year of this bullshit and I don't have to worry about finances ever again!'

"I think it's over?" Kazuichi's remark made Hajime glance at the campsite. There are more bodies on display, and Sonia seems to be carrying a rocket launcher. "Is it weird to fall in love with the same person for the second time?"

"I think you're hungry," Hajime suggested. "I'm hungry."

"Slowly turning into an Owari, huh?" Kazuichi joked, pushing Hajime away to meet with the others. Hajime followed him, curious when Kazuichi learned to tolerate the pain.

Notes:

Kazuichi: my bro almost sounds like he's used to dead bodies hahaha.. It must be a coincidence.

Hajime: dayum. Hanamura's food is amazing.
