Keith could barely focus on the movie. Was he breathing too much? Too loud? Too often? Was he bothering Lance any time his chest rose up and down?

It was a quiet night on the Castle of Lions. The rest of the team was asleep, recharging for whatever battle they had to go through next.

Keith and Lance should be asleep, but somebody insisted on binge watching some awful earth movie series they found at the space mall.

They were cuddling, Lance laying his head on Keith's chest while he watched the TV with heavy eyes. He was relaxed, his posture slouched. He had his guard down completely.

Keith was as stiff as a board. He didn't know where to put his hands. He rested them on Lance's waist before deciding that was stupid. So he set one on Lance's back, but that didn't work out either.

He could barely focus on the movie. Was he breathing too much? Too loud? Too often? Was he bothering Lance any time his chest rose up and down?

Besides, they've been cuddling like this for a while. Keith's skin was getting itchy. He also felt twitchy, like staying still would soon be impossible for him. He was sweating a lot and he was probably getting over-stimulated.

Somehow, Lance noticed everything happening despite none of it being verbalized. He slowly sat up, turning his head to look at the older boy.

Keith looked pale. Paler than usual. His violet eyes quickly flickered from the TV to his boyfriend, slightly confused as to why Lance was suddenly looking at him. Yet, at the same time, his body immediately relaxed.

“What's wrong?” Lance asked after a few seconds of them just staring at each other.

“Uh, nothing.” Keith replied back with a small shrug. His eyes flickered back to the TV but he honestly had no clue what was happening.

“You seem uncomfortable. Did I do something wrong?” Lance asks, eyebrows pinched together in worry. His eyes flicker all over the older boy's face, searching for any signs as to what could possibly be wrong.

Keith lazily folded his arms, not meaning to come off as defensive but he probably did anyway. “No, you did nothing. I'm fine. Just…” Keith made a show of him shifting his position, acting as if he was finally comfortable. “There, all good.”

Lance wasn't buying it one bit. He just squinted at Keith, lips pressed together as he kept looking at him, completely ignoring the movie by this point.

“As someone with ADHD who struggles with over-stimulation and panic attacks–” He sat up a bit straighter before continuing, “It's pretty obvious you're going through one or both of those.”

Keith tried to act confused but he quickly gave up on that approach. “I guess I was pretty over-stimulated.”

Lance's eyes softened, satisfied that Keith was finally letting some walls down, “Why?”

“The physical touch. It's… overwhelming, I guess.”

Lance blinked a few times before slowly nodding, “Okay, that makes sense.” He then frowned, “Why didn't you tell me before?”

Keith shrugged, now actually looking stumped, “I dunno. I guess I thought it was weird that my body was reacting like that to something so simple.”

“Keith, you grew up as an orphan. Obviously you aren't gonna be used to physical affection.” Lance explained softly. “You keep so many walls up that it's nearly impossible to get close to you.”

“You're close to me.” Keith pointed out.

Lance smiled a bit, “Sure, but there's still a lot we need to work on.”

Keith looked at him for a few moments before reluctantly sighing and nodding, “Yeah, I guess.”

“Just tell me next time, okay?” Lance said with a smile. He was too nice for Keith, it made his heart swell.

“Alright.” Keith agreed.

Anytime the team stopped at the space mall for necessities, it ended up turning into a shopping spree no matter how much supervision they got.

Lance was currently browsing the shelves at one store, a pleased look on his face the whole time. He wanted to get Keith something for their three month anniversary. He knows that it's probably cheesy, but he can't find it in himself to care.

Soon, Lance returned to the rest of the team with two bags in his hands. He tried to act casual but he was internally giggling, excited to give Keith his gift later.

It was after dinner and Keith found himself finally alone with his boyfriend. He figured that they'd watch a movie or play video games, so he was pretty relaxed on the couch.

But Lance suddenly announced that he had something for him. Keith sat up, confused, leaning back on his hands. He watched as Lance's face broke out into a huge grin and Keith couldn't help but smile a little himself.

“What is it?” He said slowly, not used to any of this.

“It's something I got for you. Since it's our three month anniversary today.” Lance said, looking impossibly giddy. Keith blinked before his face dropped.

“It is?” He felt himself panic, “But I didn't get you anything!” He exclaimed with a distressed look.

Lance didn't seem bothered by this one bit. “That's okay. I don't need anything.”

Lance didn't seem like he was lying, but Keith still felt so, so bad. He eventually just sighed before accepting the gift bag plopped onto his lap.

Keith opened up the present, his eyes widening momentarily as he took the item out of the bag.

“Is that…” Keith began to say but his throat was dry.

“Earth? Yeah.” Lance was still smiling as he watched Keith's face.

The present was a small globe with a tiny earth inside of it, surrounded by stars and glitter. It was simple yet Keith still loved it.

“Wow… I–” The older boy didn't know what to say. He always had trouble expressing his happiness whenever he got a gift. Granted, that was a pretty rare occurrence, so it's not like he had much practice, but still.

His eyes flickered up to his boyfriend before looking back down at the globe in his hands, “Thanks,” he says simply, internally wincing at how flat his voice sounded.

Lance's expression fell ever so slightly, “Do you not like it?”

Confused, Keith looked up at Lance. “Why would you think that?” He asked, bewildered.

Blue eyes met violet as the two boys stared at each other for a second or so. Lance broke eye contact by closing his eyes before he began to speak, “I dunno. Your reaction–”

“No. No, I love it.” Keith interrupted immediately. He didn't want Lance misunderstanding his reaction, “I just… I don't know how to express what I'm feeling whenever I receive a gift.” Keith explained softly.

There was a moment of silence, again, before Lance nodded slowly, “That… makes sense, actually.” He smiled a bit, “That would definitely explain a lot.” He then ran a hand down his face, “I thought you were an ungrateful brat when we were at the Garrison.”

Keith chuckled while Lance blushed with embarrassment. “Nope, just emotionally stunned.” He summed up.

“Woah.”

Keith was staring at himself in the mirror, an uncomfortable expression on his face. He was wearing some formal wear for the planet they were currently visiting. Lance was behind him, sitting on the bed.

“You look so handsome.” Lance continued, his tone sounding like he was in awe.

Keith's face scrunched up as he tried his best to ignore the far too sincere compliment. He didn't know how to respond to that so he was just going to ignore it.

He ran a hand through his hair, biting his lip as he attempted to fix his messy bangs. He refused to make eye contact with Lance through the mirror.

“I mean it.” Lance stood up, walking over to Keith. He was also dressed, looking gorgeous. Yet Keith didn't know how to say that without blushing from embarrassment, so he kept it to himself.

“Mean what?” Keith asked, playing dumb. He immediately realized that was not a good idea because Lance was just gonna repeat his statement.

“You look handsome.” He said with a small smile, eyes soft. Keith sucked in a breath as he finally looked away from the mirror, now facing Lance.

Keith was slowly getting taller than Lance due to his Galra puberty. They both knew it, since Keith was now an inch or two taller than him, but they ignored it up until this moment.

Lance blinked a bit, “When did you get tall?”

Keith, relieved that the conversation was moving into a different direction, just shrugged. “Galra puberty.”

“Yeah, I know. But holy shit it's so obvious now.” Lance then looked his boyfriend up and down, biting on his bottom lip.

Keith watched Lance with a small confused look, not obvious enough to draw attention to Lance, but still made it clear that he was slightly lost.

“Uhm…” The raven haired boy trailed off, not knowing what he was even trying to say.

“If I climb you like a tree at this gala, I can not be held accountable for my actions.” Lance stated as if it was so obvious. He said it so easily, as if those words didn't make Keith feel something in his stomach.

“Oh–” Keith opened his mouth but then quickly closed it, lips pressed into a straight line.

Lance's baby blue eyes looked at him, and he felt his whole body melt. “You okay?” his boyfriend asked with so much innocence to his tone.

“Thanks,” Keith just quickly said, closing his eyes briefly after he spoke. That was stupid. What was wrong with him?

“You're welcome.” For some reason, Lance understood what he was saying, which Keith was thankful for. He did not have enough brain power to explain it.

Lance walked away from Keith for a second, grabbing something, Keith didn't bother to look. Instead, he turned back to face the mirror, studying his own face.

He looked embarrassed. He felt embarrassed. Receiving compliments was such a foreign thing to him. It was completely new to him, so he had no idea how to react.

He wanted to tell Lance all the things he was thinking in return. That he looked hot, beautiful, so adorable and just too cute. He wanted to worship Lance for his beauty, which sounded stupid, but whatever.

But he could do none of that. Because it was weird and he just couldn't get the words out of his mouth. He was almost nineteen years old and he still didn't know how to receive or give compliments.

Lance returned to his side, resting his head on the older boy's shoulder briefly as they both looked into the mirror.

“You ready to go?” Lance asked.

Swallowing the lump in his throat, Keith nodded. “Yeah, let's get this over with.” He smiled to himself when he heard Lance chuckle at his wording.

He wanted to make Lance laugh like that all the time.

Keith was used to being alone. He's been alone for basically his whole life. And even if he was with other people, he was still lonely. He didn't have friends and he didn't have family.

That was until he met Shiro. And now that he's a part of Voltron, he has friends and even a family.

He has a literal boyfriend, too, who is amazing and far too good for him. But Lance was clingy, and Keith was not used to that.

“Do you wanna sleep in my room tonight?” Lance asked as they were both walking down the hall after dinner.

Keith pressed his lips together. He already planned on taking a shower before passing out in his own bed. He didn't want to suddenly change the plans that he made in his head.

“No… maybe tomorrow?” Keith said in the nicest tone he could muster. Luckily, Lance didn't seem very bothered.

“Okay! That's fine. Good night.” Lance then kissed Keith's cheek before walking into his own bedroom. Keith stared at Lance's door before walking into his own room that was directly across the hall.

Keith was training, as he always did. He was sweating and slightly flustered. He needed a shower but he didn't want to stop fighting the bots because every hit made him feel better.

He suddenly heard the door to the training room open up. He briefly looked up and saw Lance standing there with a small smile.

“Hey.” Keith said before slicing another robot in half before pausing the simulation. He figured that his boyfriend was just here to tell him something since he never came into the training room willingly.

“Hii.” Lance then walked down the stairs until he was at the same ground level as Keith.

That's when Keith noticed that Lance had work-out clothes on. He raised a suspicious eyebrow. Maybe Lance was going to stretch in the corner. That's what he usually did whenever he was in here.

“Wanna spar?” Lance asked suddenly, walking over to grab a spare sword. He then turned around to face Keith.

Keith tilted his head to the side, eyeing up his boyfriend with suspicion. “Why…?” He asked slowly, dragging out the word.

Lance just shrugged as if this wasn't seriously out of character for him, “I haven't seen you all day, I just wanna spend time with you.”

“Why?” Keith stupidly asked, realizing what he said as soon as the question left his mouth.

Lance stared at his boyfriend, “Why…?” He repeated the question before chuckling, shaking his head, “because I like you and I like being around you. Is that so hard to believe?” He put one hand on his hip, smirking a bit.

Keith rubbed the back of his neck, “I dunno.”

“You're adorable.” Lance offhandedly said, shaking his head in amusement. “Well, what do you say?” He then got into position.

Keith shrugged before getting into position himself. He was prepared to train alone but he supposes company is fine too.

The team knew that the two boys were dating. They were happy for them, a little too happy sometimes. So logically, Keith shouldn't be embarrassed to be affectionate with his boyfriend of five months while being in front of them, yet he still was.

Something even as simple as a hug that's a few seconds too long can make Keith embarrassed. One time, Lance hugged him after battle, his arms resting around Keith's shoulders while the older boy rested his arms around his waist.

Keith was content in the hug, but that was until he spotted the team watching them. Pidge was making a kissy face, Hunk had his hands on his cheeks as he smiled widely at them. Shiro watched them with a pleased look, before winking at Keith once they made eye contact.

Keith broke away from the hug rather quickly, red in the face. Lance looked at him with a bit of confusion but luckily didn't take it personal.

Yet, that was far from the worst of it.

Anytime Lance got clingy while they were with the others, Keith felt like melting into the ground.

They were chilling in the common area, everybody doing something different; Shiro was reading a book, Pidge was sitting on the ground while working on some robot thing, Hunk was watching Pidge work as he talked her ear off, Coran was messing with some buttons that were on the wall, and Allura was brushing her hair.

So really, nobody was paying that much attention whenever Lance basically crawled onto Keith's lap.

Recently, Keith's been getting more used to physical affection in private. But in public? It made his brain haywire.

“What're you doing?” Keith asked in a hushed tone. Lance ignored him before basically melting into his chest, sighing a bit.

“Tired. And you're warm.” Lance mumbled, eyes closed.

Keith was frozen. He didn't know what to do. Allura was now looking at them, her eyebrows raised up in amusement. Hunk also glanced over at them, not having much of a reaction, but he still saw.

Keith didn't necessarily want Lance to leave his lap, but he also didn't know how to handle so much physical touch at once while everyone was in the same room as them.

He just took a deep breath, closing his eyes as he demanded himself to relax. He wrapped his arms around his boyfriend, receiving a satisfied hum in return from the younger boy.

”This is fine. I'm fine.” Keith told himself, keeping his inner voice as calm as possible.

Lance definitely noticed how awkward his boyfriend was with any form of affection. They've been together for about eight months, and while, yes, Keith is working on it, he's still not fully there.

However, there was one thing Keith did that was like second nature for him. Anytime this happened, Lance felt his heart melt a little.

Keith loved to spoil Lance. And not in the gifting way, but in the ‘I'll do anything you ask me to do’ sort of way.

Keith always pushed in Lance's chair for him at the dining table. It was such a simple gesture yet it made Lance blush each time.

He also had a new habit of doing Lance's chores. All the Paladins have a set list of chores given by Coran to complete. Lance hated doing his chores. Not because he was lazy, but it sometimes reminded him of home in a way that made him feel sick.

Keith knew this, he seemed to know a lot nowadays, so he just did Lance's chores too as if it was no big deal.

“Hey wait, why are the dishes already done?” Lance had said one day as soon as he walked into the kitchen. Keith had been digging through the fridge for a snack.

“I did them.” He had said simply, glancing up at the younger boy momentarily before going back to snack hunting.

At the time, Lance didn't think much of it. But soon it got far too frequent.

Keith hated coffee with every bone in his body. Yet, he made sure to make some for Lance and give it to him as soon as he woke up.

Every single day.

Keith also took charge in planning the dates they had. Whether it be something small around the castle or somewhere on some planet, he planned it all.

Lance had tried to plan a date before, but Keith quickly flicked him on the forehead when he found out, telling him to go away. Keith was obviously teasing, yet he did mean it. So, Lance gave up on that stuff.

Plus, Keith made Lance's bed each morning, whether he slept in it himself or not. He also grabbed anything Lance needed.

Once, Lance complained that he was cold. Keith returned a second later with a blanket.

Another time Lance was sweating a whole bunch after a work out, so Keith got a fan and moved it into the room Lance was in.

There was so much more that Keith has done for Lance. Each time, Lance felt his cheeks heat up before a small smile creeped up on his face.

Keith would just shrug it off as if it was no big deal before kissing Lance.

“You seriously don't have to do this for me.” Lance said softly. Currently, Keith was setting up blankets and pillows in the observatory. Lance had mentioned earlier that he wanted to watch the stars that night, so Keith made sure to turn it into a little date.

“But I want to.” The older boy replied before looking up at Lance. He then smiled, “I like doing things for you.”

Lance's heart skipped a beat. “I see that…” He trailed off. “Thank you,” he then said after a beat or two of silence.

Keith just shot him one last grin before grabbing his hand to lead him over to the pile of blankets and pillows. They both sat down, Keith immediately pulling Lance onto his chest.

They silently stared up at the stars through the glass roof. But of course, Lance couldn't sit in silence for long.

“Keith?”

“Hm?”

Lance paused as he tried to figure out how to word his question, “Do I ever make you uncomfortable?”

Keith raised an eyebrow as he kept looking up at the stars, “Uh, what do you mean?”

Lance licked his lips as he tried to continue his thought. “Like… whenever I show you affection.”

There was a small moment where Lance wasn't sure if Keith heard him. But soon the older boy began to talk, “I wouldn't say uncomfortable. At first, I was just unsure on how to do, well, any of this relationship stuff.” He then squeezed Lance a bit, “But now? I don't feel as unsure anymore.”

“Does that mean you want me to climb you like a tree, finally?” Lance joked, since he couldn't stay serious for long anyways.

“Yeah,” Keith said simply. Slowly, Lance sat up, staring at Keith. He was still laying on top of him slightly, using his hands to keep himself propped up.

“Wait what?”

Keith looked at his boyfriend, his expression calm. “ I said yeah.”

“Do you know what climbing someone like a tree is?” Lance asked slowly, slightly suspicious.

“Yeah. It means having sex.” He then paused before adding, “duh.”

Lance pointedly did not laugh at his boyfriend's severely out of character wording. “So you wanna have sex?” He said, clarifying.

“Yes.”

“Like, you fucking me?”

Keith sighed before deadpanning, “No you fucking me.” He then rolled his eyes, “Of course me fucking you.” He teasingly poked Lance's arm, “everyone knows you're a bottom.”

“Okay buddy no kink shaming.” Lance jokingly said, trying to come across as serious.

“That wasn't kink shaming–”

“Oh!” Lance hit Keith's chest lightly, “you know what kink we should do?”

Keith just stared at Lance.

“Bondage!” Lance exclaimed with a grin.

Keith rolled his eyes, “That's so vanilla.”

Mouth gaping open, Lance stared at him with confusion, “Vanilla?” Lance whistled lowly, “Holy shit, Kogane, you gotta tell me what you're into, now.”

Keith smirked, “You sure you can handle it?”

Lance was very intrigued now. “Uh, yes. Absolutely.”

Let's just say, Lance was hardly prepared for what he heard next. But that didn't mean he didn't enjoy it.
